- 0:01Welcome to authentic living with Roxanne, a place where we conscious conversations about
- 0:08things that really matter in our lives.
- 0:12And now here's your host, Roxanne Derhodge.
- 0:37Hi, everyone.
- 0:37It's Roxanne Duraj of the Affenty Connection Movement.
- 0:40Thanks again for tuning in.
- 0:41Today, I have Alicia Barrutti.
- 0:44I hope I'm seeing that right, Alicia.
- 0:46And Alicia is in, beautiful Colorado.
- 0:50That's where she is today, and she says beautiful and sunny same as here at Niagara
- 0:54Falls.
- 0:55So welcome, Alicia.
- 0:56Thank you.
- 0:57Thank you so much for having me.
- 0:58I'm excited to be here.
- 1:00Awesome.
- 1:01So as everyone knows, I often talk, about how do we keep really transparent I was really
- 1:08fortunate.
- 1:09It was the last weekend actually last Sunday to have met Alicia at an event here in falls,
- 1:15around the whole element of getting your brand out there and, it was well done.
- 1:22By someone that's local here in Niagara Tarzan Key who, a lot of people may may or may not
- 1:28know.
- 1:29And Alicia's from BombBomb.
- 1:30So in in really simple words, she will explain it a little bit more, but bauma is just an
- 1:35interface where as a business owner, which all of us have to communicate, on an ongoing basis.
- 1:42It's an interface to be able to reach out my video, and I know everybody's going, oh my god,
- 1:47video, and how to do it, in a seamless way so you can connect with people on a on a deeper
- 1:54level, through use of video.
- 1:56And so Alicia's gonna talk a lot about that today.
- 1:59So, Alicia, just kind of, tell people a little bit about your path because I I was fortunate
- 2:05to see her the other day on stage and she was, as authentic as I can see and transfer all
- 2:12those things that you kinda think when you look at someone on stage, you go, oh, how how do you
- 2:16do that?
- 2:17I love that.
- 2:18I'm so glad that you felt that way.
- 2:21I, I came to BombBomb kind of an interesting roundabout way.
- 2:25I had actually been a massage therapist for 13 years.
- 2:29And really was, you know, looking for a career change.
- 2:33And, I, you know, a friend had asked me, what are you looking for in a job?
- 2:38And I listed out several things, but, you know, a few of them were, you know, I wanted to work
- 2:44for a company that, you know, saw me as a whole person and not just an employee number.
- 2:50I wanted to work at a place that had a lot of creative energy.
- 2:53I wanted to work at a place that I could do something that I believed in and not just, you
- 2:59know, punch a clock.
- 3:00And I was really, really fortunate to find myself at BombBomb, and I started entry level
- 3:06doing support.
- 3:08You know, I was in support for a very short period of time, then they realized that I had
- 3:12some some sales ability.
- 3:15And I moved into sales, and I did inside sales for a year and a half, and then I did
- 3:19enterprise sales for a year and a half.
- 3:21And then for about the last year and a half now.
- 3:23I've been the national speaker.
- 3:25But one of the things that I, you know, not only is our product all about connection.
- 3:30Right?
- 3:30Like, our big thing is Rehumanizing our business communication because, as humans,
- 3:37we've been communicating face to face, for as long as we've been communicating.
- 3:41And then, you know, 20 years or so ago, we were handed email.
- 3:46And We've lost a lot of that human face to face piece.
- 3:50And so bomb bombs, you know, our base premise is that we really believe that humans are
- 3:57better face to face.
- 3:59That connection is how we grow our businesses, that this idea of of relationships and building
- 4:05no like and trust isn't just sales buzzwords.
- 4:08It really is, the way we can empower our clients to be most successful.
- 4:13So I feel incredibly lucky, that what I get to do for my job is give people an opportunity to
- 4:21be more connected in the way they communicate with their clients.
- 4:25Which, you know, it's so it's so true, right, that, you know, with all the technology that we
- 4:30have, things are supposed to be quicker, but if you I think of when I was in, corporate
- 4:35consulting for a a huge health and wellness firm, we would have these meetings that were
- 4:39always together, right?
- 4:40So we had it was a national company, but the head office at least would get together in the
- 4:45same location, and I'll never forget the time, Alicia, We had gone virtual.
- 4:50Now what started to happen was I went to Toronto.
- 4:53I live in Niagara Falls, but I worked virtually, and I that was the opportunity that
- 4:56I often had to connect with people at corporate.
- 4:59So I went up and I went up to the Sixth Floor wherever they'd normally run the meetings and I
- 5:04walked in and there was nobody there.
- 5:07Like, maybe one person.
- 5:08And I want and I want where is everybody?
- 5:12And they said, well, everybody's at their kiosk tasks or their booths.
- 5:18And there was maybe 1 or 2 people, and they said, well, you know, Roxanne, you don't even
- 5:22have to stay here.
- 5:23We could just go back to your desk.
- 5:25And that was the first time that I recognized that as much as we wanted effectiveness with,
- 5:32commuting, we were actually losing that element of connection.
- 5:36Yeah.
- 5:38Yep.
- 5:38Which is is one of the things that our so many of our customers run into in the digital space.
- 5:44Right?
- 5:45You are you the way that we communicate with our clients is over email, or if you're really
- 5:51heavy in the social space, you are communicating you know, perhaps in Facebook
- 5:55Messenger and Instagram Messenger and things like that.
- 5:58But, we know as sales professionals that that decisions are made based on on, you know, the
- 6:06more human elements, feeling gut instincts, you know, Daniel Coneman of, ThinkFAST.
- 6:13He talks about the 2 systems of our brain system.
- 6:161, you know, being that more, it things slower, but it's the feelings and empathy and gut
- 6:23instincts in those human sides system 2 being more of that analytical side.
- 6:29And and we would love to think that we all make decisions based from the analytical side of our
- 6:34brain that we can weigh the pros and cons, but Ultimately, at the end of the day, we actually
- 6:40make decisions from our brain that are connected to feelings and empathy in that human
- 6:45connection piece So so we do, you know, the the scalability of email is great, but we do
- 6:53ourselves a disservice when it comes to actually connecting with our customers and with
- 6:58people when when we're only black text on a white screen, which is where the video piece
- 7:04really comes in so many, you know, we know that video is important in our businesses.
- 7:09All of our businesses are online.
- 7:12But people automatically assume that when we talk about video, we're talking about like
- 7:16YouTube and Facebook Live, which matters we, as a company, just wanna give people the ability
- 7:25to take that power of the human element that face to face and let you do it over email
- 7:31because that's most likely how you're communicating with your clients.
- 7:35So let's talk what everybody's probably thinking.
- 7:39Wow.
- 7:40She's been on video.
- 7:41She's comfortable.
- 7:42Roxanne, you know, someone like me that I put out, you know, I put out at least 2 videos a
- 7:48week.
- 7:50So they're, you know, they're probably looking at me and and and and seeing you speak and
- 7:54you're very quite articulate, and people get scared.
- 7:59Yeah.
- 8:00Well and this is what what I talked about at the event that you saw, the the number one
- 8:06thing that we hear over and over that keep people from doing this kind of video is their
- 8:12uncomfortability with being on camera.
- 8:14It's it's over and over again.
- 8:16The number one thing You know, we hear it more so with women, but even with men as well.
- 8:22So, I I've really shifted the way that I talk about this.
- 8:28As a company, the bomb bomb always sort of took the, you know, you look what you look like you
- 8:35sound like what you sound like, get over yourself.
- 8:37That was sort of the way that we talked about this fear and which is true.
- 8:41Right?
- 8:42Video, video doesn't change anything about the way you look.
- 8:46You know, that whole, like, the camera adds £15 isn't really true.
- 8:51Even if we wanna think so.
- 8:53Our voice is, yeah, our voices definitely sound different to us when we hear them recorded.
- 8:58But that's really how it does sound to other people.
- 9:00We're just used to experiencing ourselves from inside of our own our own head.
- 9:06So It is a shift.
- 9:08It's a it is definitely a shift for people to get used to.
- 9:12You know, we talked I I really I jumped into it quite a bit at legendary last weekend and
- 9:17really got, you know, intimate and vulnerable, but this is something that everyone struggles
- 9:23with, including myself.
- 9:25I I've been a paid actor since I was twelve years old.
- 9:29So I've been appearing on camera for a very, very long time.
- 9:33And myself still, I I struggle with the with the self criticism with the, you know, oh, I
- 9:41should rerecord that.
- 9:43Or, wow, why do I look so tired today or I'm not pleased with how my hair looks.
- 9:48These are all these are very, very human things that we struggle with, but I think, ultimately,
- 9:55what it's It's a symptom of something deeper.
- 9:58And and that that deeper thing is that we are We're comparing ourselves to unrealistic
- 10:06images.
- 10:08Right?
- 10:08We are we're comparing ourselves to to airbrushed professional, hair, and makeup, you
- 10:15know, or Instagram influence.
- 10:17We're comparing ourselves with a lot of people that aren't really depicting real humanness.
- 10:23And, I always encourage and I am have made it my mission to to teach people and to educate
- 10:31them and help them work through this so that they can just be themselves And that's what
- 10:37people really respond to.
- 10:38And that's, you know, there's there's a deeper issue where we want it to to change us and to
- 10:44learn to be okay with ourselves.
- 10:46And the other side of it is that, it really will affect your business because people wanna
- 10:52connect with a real human.
- 10:53They don't want to they don't wanna work with someone that's a parody or a caricature of a
- 10:59human.
- 11:00You know, it's so interesting because I start to do, I do 2 short videos each week, and I did
- 11:06it about started about 5 months ago.
- 11:08So I pick a theme, and I I do do, like, a one minute and then I do a little bit of a longer
- 11:13version to add on to, like, this week, it's about inclusivity in the workplace.
- 11:18So all I'll do is I will think about 2 or 3 points, and I'll, you know, just pulled up my
- 11:24smartphone.
- 11:25Nothing crazy.
- 11:26And you know, and then I remember when I started to do it, I would I would think, oh my
- 11:31god.
- 11:31Like, am I saying it right?
- 11:33How many ums and ahs are there?
- 11:35You know, all those things, and and I would think myself through it so much that I was
- 11:40like, oh, this is so hard.
- 11:42What I started to realize and some of the basic things that I did was just put three points
- 11:46down on a piece of paper.
- 11:47Yep.
- 11:48Yep.
- 11:48And and that was Right?
- 11:50And and then what start to happen would it mean it a lot easier?
- 11:53Yeah.
- 11:54Yeah.
- 11:54The bullet points are a great way to make sure that you're hitting your your specific points,
- 12:01the things that you wanna say without trying to read from a script.
- 12:06You know, that's something people ask me all the time.
- 12:07They're like, well, do you have scripts, you don't really need a script.
- 12:11You know exactly what you would say if your customer was sitting in front of you, and they
- 12:16asked a question, or you wanna educate them about your product or about your services.
- 12:20You would know what to say.
- 12:22Video is the same thing.
- 12:23Bullet points can help you keep there.
- 12:25We have people all the time.
- 12:26They ask me about, like teleprompter functionality.
- 12:31And I always tell people, you know, again, as a trained actor, people will take courses on how
- 12:38to read from a teleprompter so it seems natural.
- 12:41That's not an easy thing to do.
- 12:43And the moment you start trying to read from a script or you want a teleprompter, you lose
- 12:48that authentic human piece and and it almost feels like you're being marketed to or that or
- 12:56that fakeness.
- 12:57So the bullet points are a great way to keep yourself on track.
- 13:00And the other thing that I always encourage people to do and you heard me say this last
- 13:05week is don't watch your video back.
- 13:09Right?
- 13:09It's I'll I'll I love that because I thought, oh, if I watched any of them back, I would be
- 13:14re editing and re editing.
- 13:16And then, like, the synergy of what I was trying to deliver, I think, would be altered.
- 13:20And at the beginning, I wanted to do that a lot.
- 13:22And now I just go, okay.
- 13:233 points.
- 13:24What's my fee?
- 13:25And so that way I don't lose my train of thought as I'm I'm speaking to the camera.
- 13:29Yeah.
- 13:30Have you ever heard of, visual realism No.
- 13:35So, the Content Marketing Institute did this study, and they published the study on visual
- 13:41realism, which basically What their research found is that, the content, video content that
- 13:49is less perfect right, with the shaky cameras, with anything that makes it seem less polished,
- 13:58people are way more likely to actually trust those images and those videos to the point
- 14:04where we've seen it now.
- 14:06We're even multi, you know, national brands, like beer companies and athletic companies are
- 14:12actually filming commercials designed for social media that look more as if they were
- 14:18shot on an iPhone and shot, but in that more human less perfect way, because research shows
- 14:27that consumers trust it more.
- 14:30So that relatability then that if I if I think I'm seeing someone like Kalisha and I'm like,
- 14:37oh, I can relate to her So maybe potentially whatever she's talking about or maybe whatever
- 14:45she's promoting, I should give I should I should give her
- 14:49a bit more time.
- 14:50Exactly.
- 14:51Well, it's that it's that no like and trust piece.
- 14:54Right?
- 14:55We, we've been marketed too for a long time.
- 14:59We've been over marketed to for a long time to the point.
- 15:02You know, we've all experienced it.
- 15:04Now you search for something on Amazon.
- 15:06You go, you log on to Facebook, and now it's being marketed to you.
- 15:10Right?
- 15:10Like, Like, we know that that companies are targeting us to try and, you know, to try and
- 15:16format their marketing to suck us in as as quickly as possible.
- 15:20So there's something about the trust piece that happens when something feels more human and
- 15:27natural as opposed to marketing.
- 15:30It's the difference between watching a paid advertisement.
- 15:34On Instagram that a company has, you know, made like a professional commercial for versus an
- 15:41Instagram influencer just talking about a product.
- 15:44Like themselves as a human being.
- 15:46One of them is easier to trust, and it's the human piece that makes it more trustworthy.
- 15:51Now you went to I'm I'm not gonna remember the actual numbers, but I there was one slide that
- 15:56you had last week.
- 15:58I I've written it down, but I don't have it in front of me.
- 16:01And you talked about how many people made decisions once they saw a video.
- 16:04There was a
- 16:05Oh, yeah.
- 16:06It's 64% of consumers will make a decision to purchase after watching a branded social video.
- 16:16Wow.
- 16:1764%.
- 16:19Yeah.
- 16:19That's that's amazing.
- 16:21Yep.
- 16:22So let's, let's start.
- 16:24Let's shift a little bit what, what the video interface with, email with Balmam actually does
- 16:30because I think that's for a lot of people, you know, we're talking about just being able to,
- 16:36you know, you're in Colorado.
- 16:37We just met in Niagara Falls that we're talking and, you know, if I was trying to reach out to
- 16:42you to be to do something and I sent we just saw each other, but I like I actually had been
- 16:48signed up for bomb bomb before.
- 16:49I think I had mentioned that to you and I got into it and I got away from it.
- 16:53But I did use it to send to a couple of people and the open rates was quite amazing.
- 16:58Yeah.
- 16:59So so what we've done is we've made it really, really easy to do this.
- 17:04And one of my I love the question that I get it.
- 17:07When I'm doing a session or I'm doing a webinar and someone holds up their hands and they ask
- 17:12me, you know, why would I need bombbomb?
- 17:14Why can't I just do this on myself?
- 17:15We all have you know, cameras in our hands and in our pockets.
- 17:19And and what we've done is we've made it really, really easy and fast for you to both
- 17:25send a video with the delivery mechanism as well as for the person to receive it.
- 17:29So, if, for example, if I had met you at an event, And I wanted to send you a video to kind
- 17:37of follow-up with you, but I wasn't using something like bomb bomb.
- 17:41Well, number 1, if I just recorded it on my phone and tried to that you're really limited
- 17:45on file size because videos are massive.
- 17:48Right?
- 17:48If you've ever taken
- 17:50a
- 17:50video of the dog or your baby and tried to send to grandma, text it to grandma, you realize,
- 17:55you know, anything longer than 20 seconds, and it's gonna tell you it's too big.
- 18:00The other thing, you know, if you wanted to up upload it to YouTube or Dropbox.
- 18:04You could, you know, upload the video to YouTube, make it a private link, take that
- 18:09link, put it in the email and then send someone that.
- 18:12But now, again, you're sending them to YouTube.
- 18:15So for business purposes, you obviously, you wanna have control over they're seeing.
- 18:20You want it to be easy for someone to receive your video.
- 18:23You don't want them to have to download anything.
- 18:26And for you, you want it to be fast because if it's not fast and easy, we know business
- 18:30professionals aren't gonna use it.
- 18:32Especially small business owners, entrepreneurs, you guys have way too much going
- 18:37on on your plate.
- 18:39To add extra steps to something.
- 18:41So we have a built in recorder, that is both inside of Gmail, if you would like it, as well
- 18:47as Outlook, So we have a Gmail and an Outlook plugin that makes it possible that right in
- 18:52your compose in your reply window, you have a little red record button.
- 18:56All you have to do is press the record button.
- 18:59It pops up the video recorder.
- 19:01You say what you wanna say when you're done.
- 19:04You stop the video, it pops right into the body of the email, and you send that out the same
- 19:09way you would send any plain text email.
- 19:11It's faster to do that, then it would even take you to type out the email.
- 19:15Now for your recipient, it comes into their inbox just like an email.
- 19:20And we take the big video thumbnail.
- 19:23So they have a big video thumbnail, with an animated preview that plays automatically We
- 19:29have a big red play button.
- 19:30The only thing they have to do is press play, and then that video opens up and you're
- 19:35speaking to them directly.
- 19:36So It's really, really easy inside of Gmail and Outlook.
- 19:40We also have a web platform so that if you're not a Gmail or an Outlook user, you can still
- 19:45use it.
- 19:45You would just be sending from the web platform.
- 19:49We have a Chrome extension that allows our customers to record videos as well as access a
- 19:55video that they've already recorded, from anywhere on the web as long as they're in a
- 20:00Chrome browser.
- 20:01So speed to video, is one of the big things that we've really focused on.
- 20:07You know, the we want it to be as easy as possible.
- 20:10For people to do this.
- 20:11And and with the with the inbox add ons, with the Outlook extension, it actually takes you
- 20:17less time to send a video, then it would even take you to type out the email.
- 20:23So for anyone kind of thinking of about starting to use video.
- 20:28Right?
- 20:29You know, you know, and obviously we speak and and and trade and we're we're out there a lot.
- 20:35But same as the average business person that's maybe they're they're they have to speak to the
- 20:40stores, obviously.
- 20:42And you're saying like, I met you last Sunday and I was sitting across from you and now I
- 20:46feel like I'm, you know, now I because I've met you.
- 20:49And I spent a bit of time with you.
- 20:51I feel like I know you.
- 20:52So I'm like, oh, you're Felicia.
- 20:54And Monica, by the way, said to say hi.
- 20:56She says, make sure you say hi to Alicia.
- 20:59So again, we've had this connection now.
- 21:01You know, you've gone back to, you know, Colorado.
- 21:03I'm back in Niagara Falls.
- 21:05So now I feel like, oh, I I I can connect with you.
- 21:08Yeah.
- 21:09So for someone that can, like you said, you you made a point early, which made so much sense.
- 21:14If I can speak to you, like I did, in Niagara Falls last week sitting across from you.
- 21:21I thought nothing of it just saying, Hey, I'm Sandra Derhodge, and I speak on authenticity.
- 21:26I would love for you to come and talk about video and authenticity.
- 21:29No big deal.
- 21:29Yeah.
- 21:30But if I hadn't met you Mhmm.
- 21:32And I wanted to have you on it, it would probably be a little bit harder.
- 21:36Yeah.
- 21:36Because I didn't have that connection.
- 21:38But if I could kinda pretend like we were in the same room with video.
- 21:43Yep.
- 21:45That would make it a little bit easier.
- 21:47And that's that's the win for customers, right, is that they are, you know, they're getting the
- 21:53same sort of feeling that you would get from when you are sitting down with a customer in
- 21:58front of them, and they're getting that over email.
- 22:00Like, we work we work a lot with real estate agents, loan officers, title reps, auto sales.
- 22:08We work a lot with people in the sales space.
- 22:11But I am always really excited when I hear some of the unique ways that our other customers are
- 22:17using video just to maintain that that more personal human touch We have a coffee roaster.
- 22:24I believe he's in I believe he's in Wisconsin.
- 22:28And, he it's small business owner.
- 22:31He roasts local or, you know, sources of beans, does local coffee roasting, and he really was
- 22:37kind of had gotten to a place where he his business had expanded as far as he could in his
- 22:44small community, and he wanted to give himself an opportunity to spread his wings and moved to
- 22:50a more internet based business so that he could grow, but he didn't wanna lose the small town,
- 22:58you know, local coffee roaster feel that he had in his community.
- 23:01So what he does is whenever someone orders an online order of the coffee beans that he roasts
- 23:08from his local business in Wisconsin.
- 23:11He sends them a video when he's shipping their coffee just to say thank you.
- 23:15Right?
- 23:15All he's using the video technology when he ships their order with their confirmation just
- 23:21to say, hey.
- 23:22You know, thank you for supporting my business.
- 23:25Right?
- 23:25Like, I'm a local business owner.
- 23:27I'm so thankful for that.
- 23:29Like, he's using that video piece to maintain the small small town business field that he has
- 23:36while he's taking his business on the internet.
- 23:38So it really it gives you that ability to have that more connected human experience with your
- 23:46customers regardless of how far away they are.
- 23:51You know, it sounds amazing in that, you know, I just think of what I have gone through in the
- 23:55last 5 months and, you know, first, I took a a course on LinkedIn and they talked a lot about
- 24:01video, so I I I just jumped right on.
- 24:04And I'm gonna tell you, probably just LinkedIn alone, not even using BombBomb to set it off to
- 24:11my entire list.
- 24:12On average, I would say my videos are watched 70 to 80 times.
- 24:17Each time.
- 24:18Yeah.
- 24:19Yeah.
- 24:19And and you know, it's like, and you know, not you're not really thinking about after it's
- 24:23kinda wrote.
- 24:24I would go back and I would kinda look at the analytics.
- 24:26So I'm like, wow.
- 24:27Like Yeah.
- 24:28It's 1 minutes.
- 24:30Yeah.
- 24:30It's 1 minutes.
- 24:32And then I know, obviously after a while, people are waiting to hear what you're gonna
- 24:36say kind of thing.
- 24:36Right?
- 24:37Yeah.
- 24:37And, it's interesting how that happens.
- 24:41That all of a sudden, you know, you get that bit of traction and they're like, oh, I wanna
- 24:44find out about, you know, you know, resilience or Yep.
- 24:48Or whatever.
- 24:49And that, yeah, that girl talks about that.
- 24:51And so maybe I'll, you know
- 24:53Well, they're they're getting the feeling.
- 24:55They're getting the feeling like they know you.
- 24:58Which is really, you know, if we come back to the Instagram influencers, right?
- 25:02The reason why Instagram influencers have become this thing where companies are paying
- 25:09Instagram influencers to, like, once a week talk about their product.
- 25:14Right?
- 25:15They're going about their day.
- 25:16They're you know, taking video of themselves at the gym and, you know, with their kids and all
- 25:20of that.
- 25:21And then the next thing you know, they're talking about the teeth whitening, you know,
- 25:25these teeth whitening trays that they do, and and companies are paying them to do that.
- 25:30And it's because of that no, right, when you watch someone on video over and over again, you
- 25:36start to feel like you know them.
- 25:38Right.
- 25:38And then when they when they're at asking you to make a decision.
- 25:41It's easier to trust that.
- 25:42I have, one of our real estate clients.
- 25:45He does community videos.
- 25:48On a regular basis, he's in a seaside, Florida.
- 25:51It's the community where the Truman Show was films.
- 25:54So it's all very, I used to live in that area of Florida.
- 25:58It's all very cute, like, cottage type homes.
- 26:01It's a very adorable community.
- 26:04And so lots of tourism there, lots of festivals.
- 26:07And so he does these community videos just to kinda keep people in the know about what's
- 26:12happening in seaside.
- 26:14And he, he was at an event.
- 26:16They were it was like a big, you know, community event, and he was waiting, at the
- 26:20beer tent in line to get a beer.
- 26:23And this guy kept turning around and looking at him.
- 26:26And then, you know, the guy would turn around and look at him again, and the client said he
- 26:30was starting to get kinda irritated, why is this guy looking at me?
- 26:33Like, what is his problem?
- 26:35Right.
- 26:35And then sure enough, the guy comes over to him and says, like, I'm sorry that I keep staring
- 26:40at you.
- 26:40He's like, you don't know me.
- 26:42But I know you.
- 26:43I watch your videos every single week.
- 26:45And my wife and I have decided that we are gonna go ahead and buy in the community and
- 26:50you're my guy.
- 26:52Right?
- 26:53And that's that's the power of it.
- 26:55Right?
- 26:55The the you don't know me, but I know you.
- 26:58So I've been watching your videos.
- 27:00It's exactly what you just said.
- 27:02Right?
- 27:02People, they watch your videos.
- 27:04They kind of They start to feel that more that comfort with you, like they have a sense of who
- 27:10you are.
- 27:11And then that's gonna help them make the decision to wanna work with you.
- 27:17So from, you know, for people listening, and I I even say, you know, even if it's if it's your
- 27:23family, that's your customer, and you have to send out some stuff, you know, be it that, you
- 27:28know, like little one's crawling or you know, you know, the things that you did over the
- 27:34summer for people that you consistently, kind of talk talk to, if you could send them in a
- 27:38video, how powerful is that?
- 27:41Yeah.
- 27:41So for people that are maybe starting to think about using video, what can you tell us a
- 27:46little bit about a bit more about bum bum?
- 27:48And what's, you know, I know I know you have a a offer that you can give people today.
- 27:54If you would share that, that would be great.
- 27:55Yeah.
- 27:56So we do offer a free trial so that you can try it out.
- 28:01It's a 14 day free trial, so you get a full 2 week It's not a, you know, give us your credit

- 28:09It really is a free trial.
- 28:13I'll give you the URL where you can go give it a try.

- 28:30information, and you get a to try it out.
- 28:33We also, you know, over that free trial, We will give you, you'll get to have a one on one
- 28:39call with 1 of our we call them strategy coaches because what they do is they're gonna

- 28:49your customers are like.
- 28:50You know, are you using Salesforce or anything like that?
- 28:54So that they can really, get kind of an action plan tailored for you so that you know what
- 29:00you're doing.
- 29:01Tons and tons of support, tons and tons of help we we really, really believe that if we can get
- 29:09you face to face with more people more often, If we can give you that ability to connect with
- 29:15your audience in a more human authentic way, that it's gonna help your grow.
- 29:20So we wanna empower you, to have to have the ability to do that at your fingertips.
- 29:27Now, I I know you told a funny story before you I want you to tell that story about when they
- 29:31bomb on put up a video of you.
- 29:34Oh, yeah.
- 29:35Yeah.
- 29:35I love that story.
- 29:36I would love you to share before we let you get along because I I was struck by it, and I
- 29:41thought it would be a nice story to kind of end off with what that you what you shared at,
- 29:47legendary and Yeah.
- 29:48Absolutely.
- 29:49So so I, you know, I I do a lot on video.
- 29:53I do a lot on camera.
- 29:54And, you know, people just always assume that, you know, if you are in front of the camera a
- 30:00lot or if you do this that you are so comfortable with how you look.
- 30:05And the truth is is that we all do struggle with this.
- 30:07So I I do I film our bombcast, which is a podcast, and we do it on video as well as,
- 30:15like, through zoom like this.
- 30:16And so we had just finished filming a bombcast, and I had been on camera.
- 30:22So I felt pretty comfortable with how I was looking.
- 30:25And we had just wrapped up, and someone from the marketing team came in and said, you know,
- 30:29hey, can we take a quick picture of you for the front page of the website?
- 30:34They wanted to AB test whether a male face, because our CEO, his face had been on the
- 30:39homepage of our website.
- 30:41So they wanted to see whether a male face or a female face would convert better on the
- 30:44website.
- 30:45You know, Always marketing, always AB testing, trying to see what works best.
- 30:49And so I didn't think anything of it.
- 30:51I was like, yeah.
- 30:51Go ahead.
- 30:52Take a picture.
- 30:53I didn't check my hair.
- 30:54I didn't go look in the mirror.
- 30:55I was like, yeah.
- 30:56Take a picture.
- 30:57So they took a quick picture of me, and I didn't think about it again.
- 31:01I went on the road.
- 31:02I do a lot traveling, and I had been at a couple events.
- 31:04And so, like, 2 weeks later, I came back into the office.
- 31:08And as soon as I walked into the office, before I even got to my desk, everyone was like, Hey,
- 31:13Alicia.
- 31:14Front page of the website.
- 31:15Or, Alicia, you're moving up in the world.
- 31:17Look at you.
- 31:18Like, everyone is making a big deal of it because everyone was so excited that I was, you
- 31:24know, got to be on the front page of the website, you know, like CEO, yeah, whatever.
- 31:28Alicia gets to be on the front page of the website.
- 31:30So I came to my office and opened up my computer typed in bomb bomb.com, and then there
- 31:37was my face, right, big format right on the front page of the website.
- 31:42And I started to cry because I thought my hair looked flat.
- 31:47I my eyes looked like they were droopy.
- 31:49I didn't reapply my lip gloss, so my lips look dry.
- 31:53And and I had to come back to myself in that moment and remind myself, a, we're all our own
- 32:00worst critics.
- 32:01Right.
- 32:02Our marketing team, I trust our marketing team, they would not have put an image up on the
- 32:07front page of our website that they didn't look, think looked great and professional.
- 32:12That's number 1.
- 32:13Right?
- 32:14So we're all our own worst critics, and that was that moment that I had to remind myself
- 32:17that these things that you are assessing about no one else cares about.
- 32:21And then the other piece, which really is the most important piece, is that we really do have
- 32:27to take an active role in reminding ourselves that our value is so much more than what we
- 32:36might look like.
- 32:37Yes.
- 32:38Right?
- 32:38Our value comes from who we are as a human being being our our empathy, our experience,
- 32:44our knowledge, our desire to help our customers.
- 32:47All of these things are the reason why you bring value to your clients, to the company you
- 32:53work for, to your family.
- 32:55And and we have to take an active role in dispelling those lies that our value can
- 33:01somehow be wrapped up with, whether or not we have, you know, bags under our eyes on that
- 33:08What a what a lovely story and a an amazing way to end.
- 33:12So, you know, thank you so much for for spending the time.
- 33:16And for everybody listening, just recognize you people are buying you.
- 33:20They're not buying what you look like.
- 33:22You know, Get that camera out, you know, test it.
- 33:26Just try it like Alicia said, you know, or what get do what I do, which is to think, what are
- 33:31three things that I want people to walk away remembering that I said that day.
- 33:35So to, you know, if you can do that, look into the camera, sometime like they said, you don't
- 33:41have to get these filters and all that stuff.
- 33:43Get outside in your backyard.
- 33:45That's a natural light, you know, hold it up or if you have a, you know, stick to put it on and
- 33:50talk into it.
- 33:50And what will happen naturally is after a while, people will experience you.
- 33:54Know you like you trust you.
- 33:56Like Alicia said over and over again, and what we talk about on my podcast is the book being
- 34:01real, being authentic.
- 34:03People want to deal with you because you are you.
- 34:07And, really, what the difference is is that if you do these things people will say, wow, she
- 34:14does that, doesn't she?
- 34:15Or she sells that service?
- 34:17Or she speaks of this event or, you know, groom's dog.
- 34:21So whatever it is that you do and you're good at, there's your customers are out there, but
- 34:26you have to be able to be enough, to be able to get on the front page of that website and and
- 34:32not care about, you know, whether, like you said, my hair was perfect.
- 34:35My lips lip loss will follow-up shiny, all those things, and just go for it.
- 34:40Go for it.
- 34:41I love it.
- 34:42Thank you so so much for having me.
- 34:45Well, thanks again.
- 34:46And for everyone listening, if you're needing any more information on me, I, speak on mental
- 34:52health and wellness.
