  In your words. Think about the last thing you

  said today that you actually meant.

  Not a pleasantry, not a quick response to a notification,
• 0:22
  something that you said from the heart.

  Now think about the weight of that Proverbs chapter 18, verse
• 0:28
  21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue, and
• 0:32
  those who love it will eat its fruits.
• 0:35
  That's not poetic exaggeration. That is a spiritual law.
• 0:39
  The words we consistently speak over ourselves, over others, out
• 0:43
  of frustration, out of faith, shape the environment we live
• 0:47
  in, the relationships we have, and the trajectory of our own
• 0:50
  hearts. We live in one of the most word
• 0:53
  saturated moments in human history.
• 0:56
  Texts, posts, captions, comments, voice notes, live
• 1:00
  streams. We are constantly producing
• 1:02
  words and most of us never stop to ask, what is the cumulative
• 1:06
  effect of what I'm putting out? Is it building life or
• 1:10
  contributing to death? To discouragement, to
• 1:13
  comparison, to cynicism? Isaf, the writer of Psalm 73,
• 1:18
  was honest about the battle he faced in his own heart.
• 1:22
  He was watching wicked people prosper.
• 1:24
  Life seemed unfair. His faith was being tested, not
• 1:28
  by a specific crisis, but by the slow erosion of seeing the wrong
• 1:32
  people win. And he almost lost his footing.
• 1:36
  But then he came back to this anchor in Psalm 73, verse 25.
• 1:40
  Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth
• 1:43
  that I desire besides you. When everything felt uncertain
• 1:47
  and unfair, his focus returned to God, and that refocus changed
• 1:52
  everything. Then there's David in first
• 1:55
  Samuel chapter 27, verse one. Fear took over.
• 1:59
  He said in his heart, I will now perish one day by the hand of
• 2:03
  Saul. And that internal declaration of
• 2:06
  fear led him to make a risky, complicated decision, seeking
• 2:10
  refuge among Israel's enemies, the Philistines.
• 2:13
  It wasn't his finest moment. He wasn't acting from faith.
• 2:17
  He was acting from panic and the choices he made in that fearful
• 2:21
  season had consequences. Notice the pattern.
• 2:25
  What we say in our hearts, not just out loud, but internally,
• 2:29
  shapes what we do. David's fearful inner dialogue
• 2:32
  led to fearful choices. Isafs shift back toward God led
• 2:36
  to peace and clarity. This is so real for all of us.
• 2:41
  The internal voice matters. The words we speak to ourselves
• 2:44
  when no one is listening. The narratives we rehearse, the
• 2:48
  fears we declare over our situations, they have power.
• 2:52
  When you tell yourself I'm not going to make it, you act like
• 2:56
  you're not going to make it. When you tell yourself God is
• 2:59
  with me and I can trust his plan, you carry yourself
• 3:02
  differently. So here's the challenge today.
• 3:06
  Bring your words in line with your faith.
• 3:08
  Speak life over the people around you.
• 3:11
  Speak truth over yourself. And when fear starts to narrate
• 3:14
  your situation, when that internal voice starts saying
• 3:18
  there's no way through this, redirect it back to the God who
• 3:21
  has never lost a battle. Let's pray.

  Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding us of the incredible
• 3:29
  power that lives in our words. Help us to be people who speak
• 3:33
  life over ourselves, over our friends, over our circumstances.

  When fear tries to direct our internal narrative, redirect our
• 3:41
  hearts back to you. Teach us to desire You above
• 3:44
  everything else so that our words and choices flow from a
• 3:48
  place of faith rather than fear or frustration.
