- 0:49Speaker 2: You know so I just kind.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Of I like it. Yeah, that's good.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I like when this is not meant to be a
- 0:56Speaker 1: humble brag. But I feel like even when I met him,
- 0:58Speaker 1: he was like, hey man, and I was yeah, ties.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I worry that by going with hey man,
- 1:04Speaker 2: like I'm.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Leaving gendering you, it's just an exclamation.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah. It should be more like, hey, dude, what's going on?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Because because dude is non binary?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, I say dudes all the time.
- 1:18Speaker 5: I like going hay girl.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Ruffled.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Another good one is legend, Hey, legend, legend?
- 1:27Speaker 4: What is up?
- 1:28Speaker 2: My guys also non binary? And people love that. People
- 1:32Speaker 2: love being called the legend, So why not?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Although please don't anyone ever be like okay, boss, because
- 1:38Speaker 1: I hate when people say that. Yeah me too, boss,
- 1:43Speaker 1: You I barely want to talk to you. Stop it.
- 1:47Speaker 3: When I ever i hear a man use that, especially
- 1:50Speaker 3: in a business setting, I always want to go, oh,
- 1:53Speaker 3: I'm sorry, you've got a little something on your nose
- 1:56Speaker 3: there right slow brown.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, this is on the Lani. Sorry,
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's been a minute. We had a little innerption for
- 2:04Speaker 1: the holidays. We're Yeah, I don't even have my calendar up.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I was just thinking about that we were getting set up.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I don't even know where I put my twenty twenty
- 2:17Speaker 1: five calendar. That was a gift. It's somewhere. Oh no, really,
- 2:22Speaker 1: it's fine.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I haven't even bought mine yet.
- 2:26Speaker 6: Oh mine's all color coded already.
- 2:28Speaker 1: My dad got one for me, like a wall calendar
- 2:31Speaker 1: for me that it says things like here we fucking
- 2:34Speaker 1: go again, and like why aren't you a little fucking race,
- 2:39Speaker 1: Like it's just like shitty things with a lot of
- 2:41Speaker 1: the word fucking it. And I was like, my dad
- 2:43Speaker 1: gets me. Ultimately, my dad.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Gets so should we introduce our guest, considering we said
- 2:51Speaker 6: he's a man from bfy tw But oh yeah, that's it.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, what more do you need?
- 2:57Speaker 5: It's oggy.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Hello Steevie, Welcome to the show.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Hey guys, that's going.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Just kidding. It's Aaron Randall.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah, acclaimed actor of fame. Yes, right, and someday in
- 3:20Speaker 1: the near future.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I'm very excited. Yes, just revealed the cover for my
- 3:28Speaker 2: next book and it was very excited. Oh she's beautiful.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I just got the I just got the mock up
- 3:34Speaker 2: for the I got the mock up for the back
- 3:36Speaker 2: cover too, which is but I can't put that up.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Is it you posing like chin on fist?
- 3:44Speaker 7: No?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Actually, I wonder if I where authors where author photo.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It's it's not it's not on there yet. The artist
- 3:53Speaker 2: is still doing everything, you know, kind of piecemeal.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But can we make you look like uncle Rico?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Maybe we could do a lady version of a glamour shot.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Let's get you like that big like banged Wig, the
- 4:07Speaker 1: big banged.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I'm sure there is a TikTok filter for that.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And like a jacket with sparkles, and you should be leaning.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Oh, you'd look good at Maybe there should be a.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe there should be a pillar or you know,
- 4:22Speaker 1: something for you to lean on. I seem to think
- 4:24Speaker 1: there was like, yeah, my my friend and I did
- 4:27Speaker 1: glamour shots and when we were like twenty. She won
- 4:30Speaker 1: them at like a high school thing and they were
- 4:34Speaker 1: going to expire. So we went and first of all,
- 4:36Speaker 1: the guy was fucking smarmy and and was like, okay,
- 4:39Speaker 1: let's like lose your top on your shoulders. But like like,
- 4:44Speaker 1: oh sorry, and the photos are awful, and I.
- 4:48Speaker 5: The pants, they're just finding different.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You still have the planners?
- 4:54Speaker 5: Correct, Yeah, we need to share things.
- 4:57Speaker 1: My mom. I'm going to my parents' house today and
- 5:00Speaker 1: she has one of them on display and it's and
- 5:02Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm like holding a.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Do you turn to him and go, let's lose the photographer.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Let's just.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I'm like holding this column like it's the only boyfriend
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'll ever have. It's it's it's a sad picture. And
- 5:18Speaker 1: I think that's the only one we still have. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: don't think I have any of the other ones.
- 5:22Speaker 6: Is it just glitter or do you have the sequence
- 5:24Speaker 6: in there too?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:26Speaker 1: My hair is insane. But first of all, the lady
- 5:29Speaker 1: who did my hair was this was traumatic experience, so
- 5:33Speaker 1: I remember all of it. The lady who did my
- 5:34Speaker 1: hair was about one thousand and so initially I had
- 5:38Speaker 1: that sort of weird sixties half up, sort of a
- 5:43Speaker 1: big poofy helmet and then like strands in the front
- 5:46Speaker 1: that went down on either side that were slightly curled,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but like, oh yes, we super curly.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Just has anybody else done climber shots?
- 5:58Speaker 6: I have pictures of my stepmom did them when I
- 6:00Speaker 6: was younger.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I don't like to brag, but yeah, did you really?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Uh well, yeah, I went to theater school and like
- 6:08Speaker 2: one of the things we had to do was get
- 6:10Speaker 2: headshots taken. I know, I know what you mean, I
- 6:13Speaker 2: know what you mean, but let's just say that session
- 6:17Speaker 2: was real uncomfortable, oh my, and it did turn out
- 6:21Speaker 2: into like one of my favorite things ever because somebody
- 6:24Speaker 2: took it and took like the best picture of the
- 6:27Speaker 2: bunch and turned it into sort of like a Renaissance painting.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Oh cool.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Is still one of my favorite things. I wish, I
- 6:34Speaker 2: wish I had like a full like framed one, but
- 6:36Speaker 2: I just have a digital picture of it. But someday
- 6:39Speaker 2: I'll get it framed and hang it up because it
- 6:42Speaker 2: looks like me. But damn good, you can.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Get it printed on canvas.
- 6:47Speaker 4: You can?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe maybe.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Good looking?
- 6:53Speaker 3: I think, Aaron, you definitely need to check with your parents.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I also did glamour shots with my.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Mother catching out.
- 7:01Speaker 3: We give we give them to Kristen and let's put
- 7:04Speaker 3: that on.
- 7:05Speaker 1: The socials for this episode. I'm fine, I'm fine sharing
- 7:10Speaker 1: that Denham for days. Oh, I'm not.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Oh, I'm excited to have full on Britney spears justin Timberlake,
- 7:20Speaker 3: head to toe denom.
- 7:23Speaker 5: A Canadian tuxedo if you will.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Nice.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Somewhere there's a picture of me from junior high with
- 7:32Speaker 1: two people. I don't even remember that I knew that.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I don't know who they are in the picture, but.
- 7:39Speaker 5: I guess we were friends or whatever.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, No, the older I get and I look
- 7:44Speaker 1: at like any of the K eight school shit, I'm like.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Are these people who are anyway?
- 7:51Speaker 1: I moved a lot, so I had a lot of
- 7:53Speaker 1: friends growing up, and so I don't know who some
- 7:56Speaker 1: of these people were. And it was probably either six
- 7:59Speaker 1: or seventh grade. And it's me and a boy and
- 8:01Speaker 1: a girl and we're in all denhim one's in a
- 8:05Speaker 1: denim jacket. I think the boy's in a denim shirt.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But the whole picture is just like three white people
- 8:10Speaker 1: in different shades of blue denim. And I don't know.
- 8:13Speaker 1: That's somewhere digitally and my mess of pictures. But I
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't even know these people, but it was like, do
- 8:19Speaker 1: you remember they'd come to school for pictures, but then
- 8:21Speaker 1: they do like the extra like friend shots where you
- 8:24Speaker 1: could pay the extra little feet. This was that. So
- 8:27Speaker 1: it's just like this fucking sad backdrop and then three
- 8:30Speaker 1: people in denim, like, what's up? Weird picture? We look
- 8:35Speaker 1: like it. I shouldn't even there's not that much expression.
- 8:38Speaker 1: We look like a marengthic is what we look like.
- 8:40Speaker 1: We're just all like denim is life, just like stoic faces.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I'll find that one too if I can, so that
- 8:48Speaker 1: you can share that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I do want to.
- 8:50Speaker 1: We need to.
- 8:53Speaker 3: We need to next time we're all in the same city,
- 8:57Speaker 3: we need to go have a J. C. Pennies photo
- 8:59Speaker 3: shoot recreate.
- 9:03Speaker 1: All can we all fit to lean on that like
- 9:08Speaker 1: one weird arm table they had all the yeah, you
- 9:11Speaker 1: may be like stack ourselves like chairs and an auditorium
- 9:15Speaker 1: and all.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Oh, we'll just do the thing where it's just our heads.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Matching sweaters, denim sequence all the denim. Okay.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I just want to give a quick shout out to
- 9:27Speaker 1: uh Jeff Schuster h from one of my other shows,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I do, which is suggested articles, because we, as you know,
- 9:37Speaker 1: interviewed Lola Faust, the author of Tricera Tops and Bottoms,
- 9:42Speaker 1: the dinosaur erotica book that haunts my nightmares because the
- 9:47Speaker 1: character's name is Aaron. So for Christmas this year, Jeff
- 9:50Speaker 1: Schuster got Jeff one Haff and I pillows. So the
- 9:56Speaker 1: girl is down here swooning at the bottom. Unfortunately most
- 10:00Speaker 1: of Lola's name got cut off. But on my couch
- 10:03Speaker 1: now is this very scared Trisarah top So I just
- 10:08Speaker 1: want to say thank you to and he just she's
- 10:13Speaker 1: just she's like, oh, I love dinosaur feet. It's just
- 10:17Speaker 1: the best cover artist. She's like, don't And just so
- 10:21Speaker 1: we're clear, I don't want to spoil it. If you
- 10:23Speaker 1: haven't read the book yet, you should. But I think
- 10:25Speaker 1: the bottoms is because like there's a lot of laby
- 10:29Speaker 1: the dinosaurs in these books, because.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Oh there's other types.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Tri Sarah Trice aahs.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Tops and Bottoms. The author's Lola Faust, and we
- 10:47Speaker 1: do she did release some more books.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I consider myself more of a Trice Sarah switch. Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Tri Sarah side.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Well, if you want to read a book where you
- 10:59Speaker 1: can't help but week, imagine that I'm having sex with dinosaurs.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Please and enjoy the book.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Seratrix are for kids?
- 11:14Speaker 3: Do they only have sex with people in this book?
- 11:17Speaker 5: Do they have sex with dinosaurs?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Have sex with each other? Because I'm trying to think of,
- 11:22Speaker 3: you know, anatomically, how that would be possible for species.
- 11:28Speaker 3: There's getting down.
- 11:30Speaker 6: A lot of rubbing.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Is there like some kind of actor.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And and and what you would like? It's like going
- 11:40Speaker 1: to France you have like the little outlet bugs. No,
- 11:48Speaker 1: and contrary to everything that your body and your brain
- 11:53Speaker 1: and your knowledge of dinosaurs is telling you, there's nothing
- 11:57Speaker 1: involving the horns that happens with the Tricia ups.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Oh, I wasn't even thinking that.
- 12:04Speaker 5: I wasn't going there.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I am okay, Jeff from suggested articles, Oh, Aaron just twitched.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I can see him twitch from his anger of the
- 12:14Speaker 1: lack of an f He uh, how is it is good?
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:23Speaker 1: No, So we felt it was a wasted opportunity, and
- 12:26Speaker 1: we straight up told the author when she was on
- 12:28Speaker 1: suggested articles, We said, hey, what the fuck, why didn't
- 12:31Speaker 1: you deal with the elephant in the room, which was
- 12:34Speaker 1: the horns?
- 12:36Speaker 5: Tune in to find read the book.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Read it or don't, because you should also be reading
- 12:42Speaker 1: Thane and that's a much better read.
- 12:47Speaker 3: And listening to Thane. Because the thing is available, that's
- 12:53Speaker 3: all different media types. You can listen to it. You
- 12:57Speaker 3: can hold a physical copy of the book, or you
- 13:00Speaker 3: can get a digital copy for your kindle.
- 13:03Speaker 6: And the audio book is a full cast produc's.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Basically like six hour radio play.
- 13:09Speaker 5: It's very cool. Can I buy a cameo Aron Aaron either?
- 13:17Speaker 2: I mean yeah, but I hadn't thought of that, but
- 13:21Speaker 2: I mean I could.
- 13:22Speaker 5: I remember you read it on social media.
- 13:26Speaker 2: For leading up to the book's release. I read like
- 13:32Speaker 2: pieces of like the first few chapters too.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Well.
- 13:37Speaker 5: He does narrate it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Too, with the appetite, so to speak. But TikTok has
- 13:42Speaker 2: a fun thing where I can change my voice to
- 13:44Speaker 2: you know, all different kinds, so I could actually like
- 13:47Speaker 2: play the characters, but do it all myself from the
- 13:51Speaker 2: comfort of my love seat or what have you. So
- 13:55Speaker 2: it was it was. It was fun to do, but
- 13:56Speaker 2: I don't think I'd ever do the audiobook that way.
- 14:00Speaker 2: This sounds hard, it feels weird, but for social media
- 14:04Speaker 2: it works.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I just thought of a new tier. If you need
- 14:07Speaker 1: to do like a GoFundMe or anything in the future
- 14:10Speaker 1: that you could have a new tier where it's Aaron's
- 14:13Speaker 1: Bedtime Stories and you do a group conference call at
- 14:16Speaker 1: bedtime and read a chapter to everyone.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Alright, I'm all tucked in book, Daddy, go ahead, Hey.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I just peace out of the medium.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Sam Ewing from Outlander did a bedtime story on
- 14:36Speaker 3: the call map. I did Gerarjoh I don't remember his
- 14:40Speaker 3: last name, but he was in Game of Thrones. Also
- 14:43Speaker 3: did an episode. Killian Murphy did an episode A.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Lot of people have. It's fantastic.
- 14:49Speaker 1: It is quite delight Some girl keeps sending me free
- 14:52Speaker 1: trials of the call map, and I'm like, get the
- 14:54Speaker 1: fuck out of here and on time for this ship.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I have a lifetime subscription.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I got that too.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I have more podcasts and like him. Yeah, yeah, she
- 15:05Speaker 1: talks you drink my twenty anh.
- 15:15Speaker 2: It's like, really, like, how can we get her to
- 15:17Speaker 2: chill out? I know drugs.
- 15:22Speaker 5: We need to ask, mister Aaron. When did you first
- 15:25Speaker 5: see The Golden Girls.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yes, oh, good question. I must have been a kid,
- 15:30Speaker 2: very very young when I first saw it. All I
- 15:31Speaker 2: knew was that I absolutely loved it. I thought it
- 15:35Speaker 2: was like the greatest thing ever since sliced bread. As
- 15:38Speaker 2: a kid, I would watch it when whenever it came on,
- 15:41Speaker 2: just because I knew Sophia was my absolute favorite, just
- 15:44Speaker 2: because I mean, like the Zingers were just so on point,
- 15:49Speaker 2: and also just the way it made Dorothy react. Mom
- 15:53Speaker 2: always got me, always got me rolling.
- 15:58Speaker 5: You were very smart, little I do.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I think I thought so.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Shows like Golden Girls is what shaped my story telling
- 16:05Speaker 1: ability because it's a show that my parents never missed,
- 16:08Speaker 1: and I watched it, and then as soon as it
- 16:12Speaker 1: was syndicated, I just started soaking it up all the time.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It's one of my I don't know what to watch,
- 16:17Speaker 1: I'll put this. It's like Golden Girls are through crime
- 16:20Speaker 1: and you're a very clever person. Were you a snarky
- 16:23Speaker 1: child like I was? Or were you polite?
- 16:26Speaker 2: I was very polite in terms of like my behavior
- 16:29Speaker 2: as far more of a rose than I was at
- 16:31Speaker 2: Dorothy Orisiphia. I would I would say weird things because
- 16:35Speaker 2: I would think that would make people laugh, and more
- 16:38Speaker 2: often than not it did. I don't know. I could
- 16:41Speaker 2: never quite even even in my teens when I started
- 16:44Speaker 2: doing theater and I wanted those roles with the heavy
- 16:47Speaker 2: sarcastic guy you know who had all the best lines.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I would like you try and get those, but it
- 16:52Speaker 2: never quite worked. You know. I'm I guess I'm too
- 16:55Speaker 2: gentle for that sort of thing to have that sort
- 16:58Speaker 2: of razor sharp wit.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I seem to be able to push you over the
- 17:01Speaker 1: edge of times, So maybe I'll just talk to you.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, if I get to a point, I'm just
- 17:08Speaker 2: gonna lash up. But I mean that s as an
- 17:10Speaker 2: adult now, and that's usually with consequences that I that
- 17:14Speaker 2: I then have to deal with.
- 17:19Speaker 1: We live, yes, far away, pretty much as humanly possible
- 17:23Speaker 1: from each other, United States, and yet you have a
- 17:25Speaker 1: slap tally with Yeah? Oh he currently what you have
- 17:29Speaker 1: six done the slap tally from Vegas every time he said.
- 17:35Speaker 5: He gets to slap you, No, you get to slap
- 17:39Speaker 5: him yet.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the way it works.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he leaned into it.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Are you taking any of these slaps or no?
- 17:49Speaker 1: Not yet?
- 17:50Speaker 2: I waited all all all Vegas trip, you waiting for
- 17:53Speaker 2: it for even the first one to land.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He leaned into it in like such a like, yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I'll take your slap sexy way that I was like, oh,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I feel like I can hear it.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I know, so it was the perfect defense.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Well yeah, now you're like, no, no, I can't slap you.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Now it's weird.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Anyway, all right, Aaron, do you have a yes?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Sorry no, I was just going to ask our guest
- 18:24Speaker 3: Aaron if he had a favorite.
- 18:26Speaker 7: Episode I really dug And I don't know if it
- 18:31Speaker 7: happened just once or if it happened more than once,
- 18:33Speaker 7: but there is an episode where Blanche is messing around
- 18:37Speaker 7: with somebody at a resort and the guy winds up
- 18:40Speaker 7: dead and Dorothy winds up solving the mystery.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I don't know which one that one is, or if
- 18:46Speaker 2: it happens more than once that Dorothy does that, But
- 18:48Speaker 2: I mean that episode is definitely stuck in my mind,
- 18:52Speaker 2: especially because in addition to being a fan of, you know,
- 18:55Speaker 2: the Golden Girls, I was also a huge fan of
- 18:57Speaker 2: like murder mysteries. So you know, I just really, I
- 19:01Speaker 2: really dug dug that episode. I don't know which one
- 19:03Speaker 2: it is.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Or I don't know what season that is.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I think it gets for their ahead. I think it's
- 19:09Speaker 1: definitely not season one, but yeah, they're at a murder
- 19:12Speaker 1: mystery like party weekend.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Oh that one.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yes, a guy that blanches screwed around actually dies and
- 19:21Speaker 1: good one. Yeah, it is a great episode. It's part
- 19:26Speaker 1: of what made me.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Maybe we'll have you come back on.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll flag it.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I that good idea.
- 19:39Speaker 5: We have business with Jody. We need to know what
- 19:41Speaker 5: today's sock is.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Oh oh, well, you see what happened was I got
- 19:54Speaker 3: a new microphone and it has its own.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Little we all goddamn it.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I know, but so I thought what I would do
- 20:06Speaker 3: is test it out to see, like if it sounds
- 20:09Speaker 3: better than the other microphone and if not, like I
- 20:12Speaker 3: could just switch back and forth.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Are you wearing death of a bit?
- 20:16Speaker 3: I am wearing socks?
- 20:17Speaker 6: What socks are you wearing?
- 20:19Speaker 3: Yeah? Black ankle haynes damnit. But you know what I
- 20:28Speaker 3: do have on my desk right now. Amazing Golden Girls
- 20:34Speaker 3: knee high socks. Oh I'm sorry, the amazing Blanche knee
- 20:39Speaker 3: high socks. They and Kristen got me for my birthday.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah they are They're very long.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Jesus all right.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't want to open them and wear them,
- 20:51Speaker 3: but there's a part of me that's like I could
- 20:53Speaker 3: kind of do some like cool art things, shadow box artwork,
- 20:57Speaker 3: thing with it.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Well, Gina, do you want to tell us about our first,
- 21:03Speaker 1: our only episode, episode eleven? Because this is our same
- 21:08Speaker 1: only show we're ever doing. I don't know how to
- 21:10Speaker 1: talk people, all right?
- 21:13Speaker 5: Episode eleven is called Stan's Return. The original air date
- 21:18Speaker 5: is November thirtieth, nineteen eighty five, directed by Jim Drake,
- 21:23Speaker 5: written by Susan Harris, Kathy Spear, and Terry Grossman. I'm
- 21:28Speaker 5: sure you can guess what this episode is about.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Stan is For those of us who are not super
- 21:37Speaker 3: familiar with the show or have only watched it here
- 21:42Speaker 3: and there, Stan is Dorothy's ex husband.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 21:45Speaker 4: Yes?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yes?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Oh, okay, great awesome.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Stanley Spoornac played by Herb Edelman.
- 21:55Speaker 5: He was in twenty five episodes of The Golden Girls
- 21:57Speaker 5: and one episode of Golden Palace. We see him a lot.
- 22:02Speaker 6: And we've only seen him once up to this point. Right,
- 22:05Speaker 6: this should be his second episode was the wedding?
- 22:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's sounds true.
- 22:11Speaker 1: For the daughter, yep. Well, and he guesses what it's about.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Dan comes back. I think do something to bother Dorothy.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I think is returning dishes. Just kidding. I watched it
- 22:25Speaker 1: I can't believe that.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I think he's he's returning because he needs money, so
- 22:35Speaker 3: he's gonna try to schmooze Dorothy and get a couple.
- 22:39Speaker 1: K out of her.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Okay, you have a guess, Eric.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I think Dorothy is a certified accountant and Stan needs
- 22:47Speaker 2: his taxes.
- 22:49Speaker 5: But you know that's not right.
- 22:52Speaker 2: It isn't Oh, she was a teacher man and.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Spoiler alert, they're both retire We need to pick a villain,
- 23:03Speaker 3: m Stan.
- 23:04Speaker 5: I mean, come on, if that's what you want, I'm gonna.
- 23:11Speaker 6: Say, Sophia, Yeah, let's do somebody off, somebody different.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Make it harder for your Aaron has to make this
- 23:19Speaker 5: person in the villain. Yeah, why not? I don't remember
- 23:23Speaker 5: her role in this episode.
- 23:25Speaker 6: We always make it too easy for.
- 23:28Speaker 5: All Right, Hi, it's me Stan. I always loved his
- 23:32Speaker 5: lame catchphrase.
- 23:34Speaker 3: He's what's his lame catch frase?
- 23:39Speaker 5: So the audience would remember who it is.
- 23:45Speaker 6: We will be right back back back book.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Free bock bock book Oh bick, really you would do.
- 23:59Speaker 1: That for me?
- 24:00Speaker 4: For me?
- 24:03Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back right after this.
- 24:06Speaker 5: What was that from Wicked?
- 24:08Speaker 1: Oh? Hey, guys, welcome back.
- 24:12Speaker 5: We're back.
- 24:13Speaker 1: We came back. Just for you dancing. She's very spirited
- 24:21Speaker 1: right now. I love it.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I don't know why I'm dancing, just well, I'm dancing
- 24:28Speaker 3: to the music in my head. It's amazing.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Checks it out, Yeah, it checks out.
- 24:33Speaker 5: No follow up questions needed, all.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Right, sweet? Wait, So I've a little bit of trivia
- 24:40Speaker 1: just before we jump into the quiz in the general
- 24:43Speaker 1: chat of the episode. First of all, Gina, the movie
- 24:48Speaker 1: that Lucille, Ball and b Arthur are in together is Mame.
- 24:51Speaker 1: And for you that haven't ever seen Mame, it's a
- 24:54Speaker 1: goddamn delight and you should watch it.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Yeah, because she references Lucile in this episode, I was like,
- 25:00Speaker 5: I just saw on TikTok a clip of them together.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Mame, m Am, Mame.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, it's it's It's a fun watch. And then
- 25:10Speaker 1: so the rose paride Joe. The first time I watched
- 25:13Speaker 1: this episode before I did the quiz and had to
- 25:16Speaker 1: watch it like sixteen more times to get quotes and
- 25:19Speaker 1: things right. I thought it was interesting that a Florida,
- 25:22Speaker 1: a show that's supposedly based in Florida, made reference to
- 25:26Speaker 1: such a California staple. But I know there are rose
- 25:29Speaker 1: parades in other towns. They're just not as big as
- 25:31Speaker 1: the California the Pasadena Tournament of Roses. Twenty years no anyway,
- 25:38Speaker 1: odd from like from like the nineteen sixties, sometime in
- 25:43Speaker 1: the nineteen sixties to the nineteen late nineteen seventies, arly
- 25:48Speaker 1: nineteen eighties. It was a twenty years she was there.
- 25:51Speaker 1: The only reason she couldn't continue was that Tournament of
- 25:54Speaker 1: Roses was hosted at the time on a channel that
- 25:57Speaker 1: was not the channel that she was on for Mary
- 25:59Speaker 1: Tyler or more.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Right, so it would have conflicted.
- 26:03Speaker 1: So it was conflicting network. So they basically fired Betty.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But she did host the Portland tournament. Well it's not
- 26:13Speaker 1: a tournament up here, just the Portland Rose Parade. We
- 26:15Speaker 1: have our own Rose Parade and it's not as big,
- 26:19Speaker 1: but it's pretty cool. And she came up to Portland
- 26:21Speaker 1: and did the one up here a few times too,
- 26:23Speaker 1: So I think she had like six or seven times
- 26:26Speaker 1: in the seventies.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Wow, so she has quite.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Well had rip, but she she had quite a relationship
- 26:35Speaker 1: with rose parades in general. The man also, how steel
- 26:41Speaker 1: would that cake have been that's on the table in
- 26:44Speaker 1: that episode, because there's nothing on it. There's no tinfoil,
- 26:48Speaker 1: there's no saran.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Rat like you.
- 26:51Speaker 5: They opened the fridge and the cake's just on a plate,
- 26:53Speaker 5: and you're like, right, how stale?
- 26:58Speaker 1: And I can't ask my grandparents, but like, were they
- 27:02Speaker 1: just eating a lot of dry cake? Like in the
- 27:05Speaker 1: sixty seventies.
- 27:06Speaker 6: They didn't have covers, But we didn't see them take
- 27:09Speaker 6: it out of the fridge, so maybe they removed the cover.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I can't say for the Golden Girls, but I'm I'm
- 27:18Speaker 2: a fat guy. I'll take cake in any form. It
- 27:21Speaker 2: doesn't matter. I'm gonna eat it.
- 27:23Speaker 5: You don't care if it's all stale.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I don't care if it's a little stale, little.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Still technically cake, yes, yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 2: If I if I too thought it, I'm gonna stop.
- 27:40Speaker 5: For a moment.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Bodily harms the limit. Bodily harms the like hard limit
- 27:47Speaker 1: on the cakes.
- 27:49Speaker 2: It's good.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Eat the cake and put that on the back of
- 27:53Speaker 5: your next book. It's good.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Just for the record, I didn't say that first this time.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I don't want to get gas lit several days. Yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 1: I'll fuck right off. I didn't say it this time.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Oh god, right, So you guys, you want to play
- 28:16Speaker 1: a game, You're ready to jump in, sure.
- 28:21Speaker 2: To play a game?
- 28:23Speaker 1: All right, here we go.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Question one to ring in you.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Just yeah, okay, continue?
- 28:31Speaker 1: Question one, who does Sophia say? Takes her mom and.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Jody Yes, Jody brookshields.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I forgot to put my points here on the bottom, so.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Remember to let her finish the damn question. Sorry, you know,
- 28:51Speaker 5: I'm no I think you did.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I'm just saying I just know that you did. Cutthroat
- 28:55Speaker 3: between Kristen and I were always at the same time,
- 28:58Speaker 3: so I'm like, say it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Okay. So this next one is a finish the line. Okay,
- 29:04Speaker 1: read first, the last time he had you signed something blank?
- 29:09Speaker 3: Wait could you say that again?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Read it first, the last time he had you sign something?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Remember, uh eron?
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yes?
- 29:22Speaker 5: Oh right, yeah, good work, Eric, good job.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I'm on the board.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Yay.
- 29:30Speaker 1: This next one, let me get the whole question out
- 29:33Speaker 1: and then jump in because I feel like you all
- 29:37Speaker 1: might know this one. This is another finish the line,
- 29:40Speaker 1: A younger man. Where did she meet him?
- 29:45Speaker 4: Yeah? It was clever.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Oh, I was thinking very farm cam snoopy up.
- 29:54Speaker 5: That was a great It was a good one.
- 29:57Speaker 2: It was very very funny.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I loved it. I loved it so much. Next question,
- 30:03Speaker 1: who did mister Mason, who owned the corner drug store say? Rose?
- 30:10Speaker 2: I thought.
- 30:12Speaker 8: Question, I'm sorry, go ahead, Barbara, yes, listening very intently.
- 30:26Speaker 5: A lot of times it's like this, who did.
- 30:31Speaker 3: No, I'll stop, I'm.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Just teasing you.
- 30:37Speaker 1: You're fine, okay. Question five? What do Rose and Blanche
- 30:45Speaker 1: do when Stan enters the kitchen Dorothy's pink robe?
- 30:50Speaker 3: Jody, Yes, spit out their coffee.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yes, they do a spit take with their orange juice.
- 30:57Speaker 1: But yes, yes, but they spit out the bed they.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Were dreaming this. I must have looked away at Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a it's a spit take. Jody, you're smoking? Well,
- 31:08Speaker 1: I mean she's not smoking, and gentlemen, I know you
- 31:10Speaker 1: can't see her, but this is like smoking smoke show
- 31:12Speaker 1: compared to Yeah, that's why she's my waist up lesbian girlfriend.
- 31:18Speaker 1: All right, moving along? Why nope, we might have just
- 31:25Speaker 1: broke up. I don't want her that noise ever again.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Oh man?
- 31:35Speaker 1: All right? Why? Question six? Why does Dorothy agree with
- 31:41Speaker 1: those that she was shocked? Let me rephrase this question.
- 31:46Speaker 1: That's that's that's when when Rose tells Dorothy she's shocked
- 31:54Speaker 1: that Dorothy has slept with Stan. Why does Dorothy tell
- 31:58Speaker 1: Rose she was oh so.
- 32:00Speaker 6: Shocked, Kristen, she was shocked because Christy didn't teach him
- 32:05Speaker 6: a thing.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 1: As someone who dated I I had sort of a
- 32:15Speaker 1: stand fixture in my life that I was with twice
- 32:19Speaker 1: relationship wise, it was shocking when he came back and
- 32:22Speaker 1: he had learned things. It was weird, It felt weird.
- 32:26Speaker 1: So yeah, I really liked this joke for that reason. Anyway,
- 32:31Speaker 1: else doesn't Rose understand.
- 32:38Speaker 2: How hers hot?
- 32:40Speaker 4: And that was so hilarious.
- 32:54Speaker 3: This episode seemed to have had a lot of like
- 32:58Speaker 3: one liner jabs that were.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Stand fantastic.
- 33:05Speaker 1: They were good, They're good. Okay.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Eight.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Why does Sophia bring her vacation club over to the.
- 33:13Speaker 5: House, Gina? She wants to show them Stam, I think
- 33:22Speaker 5: show them an ex husband.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's close. Yeah, I'm gonna give you the point. But
- 33:28Speaker 1: the specific reason is that she says they didn't believe
- 33:33Speaker 1: that Dorothy had slept with her ex husband or after
- 33:36Speaker 1: seeing him.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Why a cute.
- 33:40Speaker 5: Little old lady club.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yep, there was like there was like twelve ladies in
- 33:46Speaker 3: that little There's a lot of them, I mean there.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Was several Yeah, yeah, yeah, which we will deal with
- 33:53Speaker 1: when we get to Sophia as the villain. But anyway,
- 33:57Speaker 1: who was Eddie Parker?
- 33:58Speaker 3: Jodi mm hmm. Eddie Parker.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Was the man that Rose.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Had to turn away or break up with, so to speak,
- 34:12Speaker 3: when Charlie went to war, right, but.
- 34:14Speaker 5: When you look at her, it was his title.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Oh oh he he was the US Club aqua midget.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Ye, I don't personally condone that word.
- 34:30Speaker 3: No, but that that people don't like it, little person
- 34:34Speaker 3: it was.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Don't midget was okay in the eighties. It was later
- 34:40Speaker 1: that little people decided that that was derogatory.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I just got the right to vote one hundred years ago.
- 34:49Speaker 9: So yeah, yeah, all right, final question for all the money,
- 34:58Speaker 9: but just kidding, none can win except Jodie at this point.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Finish it's another finish the line. Here's two terrific.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Sex Gina and the dumb blonde that won't be getting
- 35:14Speaker 5: any yep.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Yeah, perfect episode.
- 35:20Speaker 7: This victory.
- 35:23Speaker 1: All right, sweet well, Jody, you have won this episode.
- 35:28Speaker 5: Hey today, I'm.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Sorry I constantly interrupted each question and didn't know It's okay.
- 35:36Speaker 2: You did it like once, you know, you know how
- 35:41Speaker 2: you as a game semester, you know how you can
- 35:44Speaker 2: avoid that.
- 35:46Speaker 1: It's my fault.
- 35:47Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, I'm not saying it's your fault. I'm
- 35:49Speaker 2: saying here's an idea of something you could do to
- 35:51Speaker 2: get people to stop doing that is to write a
- 35:53Speaker 2: few trap questions. Write a question that seems to be
- 35:57Speaker 2: one way, but at the very end twists, and.
- 36:01Speaker 6: Do that on pressure.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Lucky book, Daddy. I love you, you know I might.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I might restend a slap. I I would like to
- 36:14Speaker 1: add a slap for that one.
- 36:17Speaker 5: But we went down to five.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Learn to wait.
- 36:25Speaker 3: I'm impatient.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Oh man, mh, I like it all right? Yeah, anyone
- 36:34Speaker 1: they have anything else they want to talk about?
- 36:37Speaker 6: Yeah, the name Chrissy because that's what my family calls me.
- 36:40Speaker 6: And that was uncomfortable.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Oh like dinosaur erotica uncomfortable.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Do you have anyone in your life you called big stand?
- 36:51Speaker 2: No?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Or what about stick man or sick man? Yes, we
- 36:55Speaker 3: should start calling John Hanks stick man man.
- 37:01Speaker 1: It's just such a gross, weird thing.
- 37:04Speaker 5: Quick recap. Stan the ex husband drops by because he
- 37:09Speaker 5: needs Dorothy's signature to sell a piece of property they
- 37:12Speaker 5: own together, and he let's rekindle the room because Chrissy left.
- 37:18Speaker 6: My ass and him and Christy have a solar heated waterbed.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I've never heard of.
- 37:25Speaker 6: I mean, I've never heard of a solar heat waterbed.
- 37:29Speaker 2: You literally cannot get more eighties than that, honestly, I mean,
- 37:33Speaker 2: I'm all for that. It could have been more eighties
- 37:37Speaker 2: if she said the one next to the pac Man machine.
- 37:42Speaker 3: My So, my dad and my stepmom have, like that's
- 37:46Speaker 3: all they sleep on our waterbeds.
- 37:48Speaker 1: And still huh so I didn't even know they still
- 37:51Speaker 1: make them.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Every time I go to Texas, I sleep on a
- 37:55Speaker 3: waterbed and is it solar heated? No, it is not.
- 37:59Speaker 3: It's like strically heated, but it is.
- 38:03Speaker 5: Well that's just a isn't it in case electricity gets
- 38:07Speaker 5: in the water.
- 38:08Speaker 3: It's also very difficult to get out of, like when
- 38:11Speaker 3: you're in a laying position, you kind of have to
- 38:14Speaker 3: like like roll.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Off because it's it's kind of like a half deflated
- 38:22Speaker 6: like blow up mass lift you.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Not great, I mean it's pretty comfy.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I can get a solar head or electrically heated. Actually,
- 38:36Speaker 1: this one's just electrically hated water bed. On Amazon, the
- 38:40Speaker 1: portion for like five hundred bucks.
- 38:42Speaker 6: But how much is the insurance for a water bed
- 38:45Speaker 6: for water damage if oh good question.
- 38:47Speaker 1: No fuck that absolutely not a lot.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Yeah, especially in California.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Yeah no, hashtag no thanks.
- 38:57Speaker 5: What do you just like hook up a hose to it? Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 5: and fill it up?
- 39:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and then it gets sealed and then you know
- 39:04Speaker 1: that no one takes like scissors on the bed, okay.
- 39:09Speaker 6: Or sleep with your ear rings in, or there's so
- 39:11Speaker 6: many things that could pop it rough sex. Yeah, I
- 39:15Speaker 6: don't be nervous.
- 39:17Speaker 3: I mean, had had that a had that author included
- 39:21Speaker 3: the horns, horns.
- 39:28Speaker 1: The sheer weight of my reuben at body and the
- 39:32Speaker 1: sharpness of Abby's little talents would wrack a clause. We're
- 39:36Speaker 1: not a candidate for Yeah, all right, so let's get
- 39:39Speaker 1: to the villain thing real quick. I feel like this
- 39:42Speaker 1: is an uphill battle, but I think in my head
- 39:45Speaker 1: it's an easy win because Sophia is such a bitch
- 39:51Speaker 1: that she gets told that three women who were paying
- 39:56Speaker 1: for a vacation for themselves aren't inviting her for free
- 40:00Speaker 1: trip because, by the way, Sophia never has money. Now,
- 40:02Speaker 1: please remember we sid my episode where she had borrowed
- 40:06Speaker 1: twelve hundred dollars to go to the sand. Gennaro Ganado
- 40:10Speaker 1: or whatever fast Gennaro Fester bad Italian. So this bitch
- 40:14Speaker 1: is poor, she's on a fixed old lady income. But
- 40:19Speaker 1: she's pouting because she's not invited on the trip with
- 40:22Speaker 1: the girls. So she's pissed she's not getting a free trip.
- 40:26Speaker 1: So then she runs out and joins vacation club full
- 40:30Speaker 1: of old judging women.
- 40:32Speaker 5: They kind of gloss over that she's in a vacation club.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Now, yeah, but she brings those women to the house
- 40:40Speaker 1: to publicly mock her daughter and vote on whether or
- 40:45Speaker 1: not she'd be with someone. It's pretty pushy and judgy.
- 40:50Speaker 6: Something a parent would do. Like a parent, at least
- 40:55Speaker 6: in my family, if I wanted to get back with
- 40:58Speaker 6: one of my exes, I would be mocked relentless. So
- 41:02Speaker 6: I feel like it's relatable.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah, look, my parents bought me a Fender guitar at
- 41:08Speaker 1: one point if I was willing to just simply not
- 41:11Speaker 1: go out with Esteban again. So I get it. But
- 41:16Speaker 1: the public mockery, I mean, it felt a little bit
- 41:19Speaker 1: like being put in the stock.
- 41:22Speaker 2: If Dorothy was your daughter and she was about to
- 41:25Speaker 2: get back together with stand, would you not recruit an
- 41:29Speaker 2: army of old women?
- 41:31Speaker 6: You do anything in your power too.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Literally, the first thing on my list is like, I
- 41:39Speaker 2: need an army of old women. I need a jar
- 41:42Speaker 2: of pickles.
- 41:42Speaker 5: I am on the table next.
- 41:48Speaker 3: To prison cups, cold coffee.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Prison cups.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Well, because they're so boring.
- 41:59Speaker 1: There is like a an embossed pattern to them up close,
- 42:02Speaker 1: but at a distance they're like the ship you get at,
- 42:06Speaker 1: like a sad diner in the Midwest. They're not pretty cups.
- 42:10Speaker 1: They're not anyway. Fine. Well, that's why I think Sophie
- 42:14Speaker 1: is the villain though, because she she definitely held like
- 42:18Speaker 1: a almost like her own little trial for a stand,
- 42:22Speaker 1: just because they didn't take her on a trip, because
- 42:24Speaker 1: those women wouldn't have been in the house if she
- 42:27Speaker 1: hadn't had to spitefully go join a vacation club.
- 42:31Speaker 5: I don't remember, But does the vacation club come back?
- 42:34Speaker 4: Or was that it? That's it?
- 42:36Speaker 5: Yeah, then I don't think we ever see an abandon.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And none of them talk because they I think were
- 42:45Speaker 1: essentially extras and so they didn't really give them any lines.
- 42:50Speaker 2: You don't think they were moms of the cast and crew.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Could be I need you to show up on Thursday
- 42:57Speaker 5: with your handbag.
- 42:59Speaker 1: True, that one of the new SNL people has already
- 43:03Speaker 1: had both her mother and father on SNL.
- 43:05Speaker 5: Oh wow.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Her dad was in a sketch with like a line
- 43:09Speaker 1: with the weird guys that sit in the tech room,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and her mom was there for the Mother's Day episode
- 43:14Speaker 1: where they bring the moms out and introduce them. So
- 43:17Speaker 1: maybe they were the moms of the the at some point.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Not that I don't love our current guests, and we're
- 43:24Speaker 1: going to let you tell people where they can find
- 43:26Speaker 1: you in a second and wrap this up so we
- 43:28Speaker 1: can head on. I do want to try to get
- 43:31Speaker 1: one of my friends on. I have a friend that
- 43:33Speaker 1: was a PA on The Golden Girls in the final season.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Shut your mouth.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I do want to get him on. He's my birthday twin,
- 43:43Speaker 1: but was born way before me. But Stephen Tyler, not
- 43:48Speaker 1: of Aerosmith's name, the other Steve.
- 43:50Speaker 5: The other, but the more famous.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I have to reach out to him still and figure
- 43:59Speaker 1: out some days, but I want to get him on.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I think he got a gun.
- 44:08Speaker 8: And he's got a Sophie.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Well I thought you said that first in Gotta Soie.
- 44:15Speaker 5: And I gotta Beta.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Someone wrap this up for me.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Speech.
- 44:21Speaker 5: No, let's go to our guest. First, Aaron, Where find you?

- 44:54Speaker 2: They can find thing wherever find books are sold, go to.
- 45:01Speaker 2: I mean you might be able to find in a
- 45:03Speaker 2: couple of places where shitty books are sold, but thrift Books,
- 45:06Speaker 2: that's not a place where shitty books are sold. I'm
- 45:08Speaker 2: so sorry thrift Books.
- 45:11Speaker 3: They're one of our regular listeners.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so sorry. Yeah, pretty much pretty much everywhere
- 45:18Speaker 2: online you can find them. You can also hit me
- 45:21Speaker 2: up directly. I have a direct link that actually gets
- 45:24Speaker 2: me like twice the royalties. So if you want to
- 45:25Speaker 2: buy them direct from me, I'm moren't happy to do that.
- 45:28Speaker 2: I'm also happy to sign one and send it to you,
- 45:30Speaker 2: so you know that's also an option to just reach out,
- 45:33Speaker 2: happy to do that.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Could someone send you their copy that they currently have
- 45:38Speaker 3: since they forgot to bring it with them to Vegas,
- 45:42Speaker 3: and then you could send it back.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, I don't mind at all.
- 45:46Speaker 1: This feels like an oddly specific question.
- 45:49Speaker 3: I was asking for a friend.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, that's normal. That's very clear.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Chris, why didn't you bring your book to Vegas?
- 45:56Speaker 6: My copies are signed copies, and I'm going to get
- 46:02Speaker 6: a second edition signed too.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, maybe I should buy the second edition.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Absolutely, I have to buy the second edition because if
- 46:11Speaker 1: I don't buy the second ed and then I won't
- 46:14Speaker 1: have Kristen's name in print, because Kristen has a character
- 46:18Speaker 1: in the second edition.
- 46:20Speaker 5: Oh that's right, I should get the second edition too.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Okay, that is correct.
- 46:24Speaker 5: Like you see her name, I know her.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Kristen was very kind to back the audiobook Kickstarter
- 46:32Speaker 2: at one of the higher levels, so, uh, you know,
- 46:34Speaker 2: I made sure to put her in the book and
- 46:36Speaker 2: as a thank you, and so she will. She will
- 46:39Speaker 2: be in the book going forward. If there are third
- 46:41Speaker 2: or fourth editions, Kristen will always be in the book.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Yeah, guests, and I forget for not buying the top tier.
- 46:51Speaker 1: What did I get?
- 46:52Speaker 3: Again?
- 46:56Speaker 1: I got something there.
- 46:57Speaker 2: There were two levels underneath that. There were there was
- 46:59Speaker 2: the producer and co producer. Producer was you got a
- 47:02Speaker 2: video thank you that I made specifically for you. So
- 47:06Speaker 2: if you didn't get that, then what you got was
- 47:09Speaker 2: a thank you from the author in the credits. There
- 47:11Speaker 2: were a bunch of people who I just who didn't
- 47:13Speaker 2: want to be in the book or there weren't enough
- 47:15Speaker 2: slots available, so I made this second option available. So
- 47:18Speaker 2: at the end of the audiobook, I also rattle off
- 47:20Speaker 2: a list of people in it. I believe you're on.
- 47:23Speaker 1: That list perfect, So in a way, you're you're in.
- 47:27Speaker 2: You're in the audiobooks.
- 47:29Speaker 1: YEP, which I have not finished because I really like
- 47:33Speaker 1: reading it myself. I'm not a huge audiobook person. I
- 47:36Speaker 1: love it, but I'm only like halfway through.
- 47:38Speaker 2: That's fair, that's fair. Take your time, Take your time.
- 47:42Speaker 1: I can't even like draw and listen to an audiobook
- 47:46Speaker 1: because I can't focus on my art. I'm like thinking
- 47:49Speaker 1: about the book.
- 47:51Speaker 5: So yeah, there's a lot to follow along with.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm your worst publicist, But guess.
- 47:56Speaker 2: What, you're amazing. You're amazing. For zero money. You're absolutely incredible,
- 48:02Speaker 2: So don't.
- 48:03Speaker 5: If I was paying, you're fired.
- 48:06Speaker 1: If we can, well, if you're paying me, I'm going
- 48:08Speaker 1: to work harder. If you get me the link for
- 48:13Speaker 1: the direct sales for your book. We put that in
- 48:16Speaker 1: the episode text so people can go and check you
- 48:21Speaker 1: out and.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Get your book.
- 48:22Speaker 2: That would be delightful.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:26Speaker 2: I just did a cover reveal for the second book.
- 48:29Speaker 2: The second the sequel to Thane, is called Raka and
- 48:33Speaker 2: the Inevitability of Life, and I expect that to be
- 48:36Speaker 2: published as physical and ebook, hopefully in February January, if
- 48:42Speaker 2: I can really swing it. Yeah.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Oh, it's about ready to go.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's oh, you're not doing like a second or
- 48:49Speaker 1: if I mean a third, that's just ready.

- 49:04Speaker 1: It is fucking unreal. It is.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you guys got Yeah and Kristen were beta readers, so.
- 49:13Speaker 1: We we have talked about which book is our favorite
- 49:18Speaker 1: and we can't base Okay, oh wow decide Yeah.

- 50:04Speaker 3: But Abby's taken a nap. She's not gonna be able
- 50:07Speaker 3: to get a cheesecake.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Abby, wake up.
- 50:10Speaker 3: See if she happened right here?
- 50:11Speaker 5: I want cheesecake. She's listeners. Aaron smacked the sofa.
