- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh-huh. I sure will. Good morning, everybody. Y'all
- 0:07Speaker 1: listening to The Voice. Come on. Come on, y'all. Dig
- 0:10Speaker 1: me now.
- 0:11Speaker 2: One and only Steve Harvey. Got a radio show. Man,
- 0:15Speaker 2: is God good to me. Unbelievable.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he is.
- 0:18Speaker 2: And I can only attribute it to one thing. It's
- 0:22Speaker 2: just been a turnaround in my life.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's been me.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Finally make a decision to see what all God has
- 0:30Speaker 2: for me, but at the same time trying to be
- 0:32Speaker 2: more God want me to be instead of more what
- 0:35Speaker 2: I want to be. That's the trade-off. You know, you
- 0:37Speaker 2: got to do something now. You know, you want God's blessings.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You got to be willing to do something on his behalf.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm not saying I got it right right now because
- 0:48Speaker 2: I'm just being real with you.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I don't.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I don't have it all together by any stretch of
- 0:53Speaker 2: the imagination. I'm trying to get better in several areas.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I'm praying about it. I'm working on it, but you know,
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's a process and I've, I've, I've, I've grown to
- 1:03Speaker 2: accept the process, but I'm improving in a lot of
- 1:06Speaker 2: areas from day to day. But I'll tell you what, man,
- 1:09Speaker 2: my success, all this going on with me, I can
- 1:12Speaker 2: only attribute to this turnaround. And the turnaround was simple.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I turned around and started looking at God. That was
- 1:21Speaker 2: the simple move, man. I just turned around and started
- 1:24Speaker 2: looking at him and I was going, okay, I get
- 1:26Speaker 2: it now. You created me. You're the creator. You have
- 1:31Speaker 2: a purpose for me. I understand that now. Now, let
- 1:35Speaker 2: me just walk in that purpose and let me get
- 1:38Speaker 2: to doing that purpose. Now, my purpose and your purpose
- 1:42Speaker 2: and their purpose and anybody's perfect purpose could be different.
- 1:46Speaker 2: And the way you go about the purpose can be different.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And that's the part that I've really grown up to.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I've opened up my mind to understanding that everybody's different.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Nobody's quite the same. And that is not my right
- 2:00Speaker 2: or position to judge, but to be of a forgiving
- 2:04Speaker 2: spirit and understand and forgive those as I ask God
- 2:08Speaker 2: to forgive me.
- 2:09Speaker 1: See, that's the key. That's the key, y'all.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So when you're out here and you're stuck on this unforgiveness,
- 2:16Speaker 2: understand in the Lord's prayer, there's a segment that says,
- 2:21Speaker 2: forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
- 2:25Speaker 2: against us. There's another version that says, forgive us our
- 2:28Speaker 2: debts as we forgive our debtors. It's two different versions.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But either one, it means the exact same thing. It
- 2:37Speaker 2: means simply this, that you are asking God to forgive
- 2:41Speaker 2: yours like you forgive others. Forgive us our trespasses. as
- 2:47Speaker 2: we forgive those who trespass against us. When I cross
- 2:50Speaker 2: the line with you, God, handle me the way I
- 2:54Speaker 2: handle people when they cross the line with me. You
- 2:57Speaker 2: feel what I'm saying to you. See, you understand that?
- 3:00Speaker 2: That's the breakdown of it. Best way I can give
- 3:02Speaker 2: it to you. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
- 3:06Speaker 2: those who trespass against us. Forgive me, God, for stepping
- 3:11Speaker 2: over the line like I forgive those that step over
- 3:13Speaker 2: the line on me. That's the hard part, man. That's
- 3:17Speaker 2: the part, man, I've really been working on. I've been
- 3:19Speaker 2: really trying to get that together. And so I've learned
- 3:22Speaker 2: forgiveness a lot better over the past five years than
- 3:26Speaker 2: I have before.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And it's paid off. I can't tell you how it's
- 3:31Speaker 1: paid off.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Because now God's mercy and grace is all over me
- 3:37Speaker 2: because I've learned to become more graceful. Now, I ain't
- 3:41Speaker 2: graceful like him. I ain't merciful like him. But I've
- 3:46Speaker 2: learned to become more, more graceful, more merciful. Because, man,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I can't live my life like that. I just got
- 3:53Speaker 2: sick of me, man. You mad at me, now I'm
- 3:55Speaker 2: mad at you. You hating on me, now I'm going
- 3:58Speaker 2: to hate on you. I ain't got time for that, man.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Look here, you got somewhere to go. Hate take up time.
- 4:06Speaker 2: It's time consuming, hating. trying to seek revenge. It's time consuming.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Take up way too much of your time to seek
- 4:15Speaker 2: revenge when vengeance ain't really yours. That's another one. Vengeance
- 4:19Speaker 2: is mine. Say if the Lord, it ain't yours. So
- 4:23Speaker 2: now when you go to seek it, to take it out,
- 4:26Speaker 2: guess what you're doing? You're doing something now, man. Now
- 4:29Speaker 2: you off into area that you got no business being in.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And instead of steady climbing your ladder, like you're supposed to,
- 4:36Speaker 2: you didn't take out time for vengeance.
- 4:40Speaker 1: To hate. I'm a hater. I'm going to be a blogger.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm a blog about so-and-so.
- 4:46Speaker 2: When you're blogging about somebody, and most of these people
- 4:49Speaker 2: you don't even know, when you're blogging about somebody.
- 4:52Speaker 1: What you doing? What you hating?
- 4:56Speaker 2: It takes time to hate, man. I just decided, man,
- 5:01Speaker 2: I got to take all my time. And instead of
- 5:04Speaker 2: doing time and being active, I got to be proactive. See,
- 5:09Speaker 2: some people get that confused being active and being proactive.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Pro is positive. Pro means to move forward.
- 5:18Speaker 2: You know, If you put pro in front of most words,
- 5:21Speaker 2: it's a positive influence. You know, there's the pros and
- 5:25Speaker 2: the cons. The pros is the good side. The cons
- 5:29Speaker 2: is what can go wrong, the bad side. You know,
- 5:32Speaker 2: if you're active, that's one thing, but if you're proactive,
- 5:35Speaker 2: you're going forward in a positive direction. When you become
- 5:39Speaker 2: a pro, that means you're the best of the best
- 5:42Speaker 2: at whatever it is you've chosen to be.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I'm a pro. So somehow, and I'm no....
- 5:50Speaker 2: English teacher, grammatical guy, the word pro a lot of
- 5:53Speaker 2: times when you put it in front of something means positiveness.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So now a lot of people think that if you
- 6:01Speaker 2: just act, if something ought to happen, well, I'm doing something.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And that's what happens, man.
- 6:06Speaker 2: We just find ourselves doing a lot of busy work
- 6:08Speaker 2: that really ain't about nothing.
- 6:09Speaker 1: It ain't going nowhere.
- 6:10Speaker 2: It ain't got no direction or no purpose because we
- 6:13Speaker 2: haven't tried to find out the direction or purpose. So
- 6:16Speaker 2: you wake up and you and you and your wheels
- 6:18Speaker 2: are spinning. You're a hamster on a treadmill. You're running
- 6:21Speaker 2: real fast, but you're just going in the same spot.
- 6:24Speaker 2: You understand? That's because you're just out here being active
- 6:27Speaker 2: instead of proactive. Why don't you get God in your life?
- 6:30Speaker 2: Why don't you turn and face your creator and find
- 6:33Speaker 2: out how to become more proactive so you can do
- 6:36Speaker 2: things to move yourself forward, how you can get your
- 6:39Speaker 2: life off the ground and get off the treadmill and
- 6:43Speaker 2: really get it rolling in the direction that it need
- 6:45Speaker 2: to be going, man. I'm telling you, God can make
- 6:49Speaker 2: that change for you if he see you making the
- 6:52Speaker 2: change for him. See, the whole key, man, the whole
- 6:56Speaker 2: key is you got to be willing to do something.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You got to give God something to bless. Bless me, God.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And then you go sit on your couch and you
- 7:05Speaker 2: ain't trying. OK, bless me, God, with what? What are
- 7:09Speaker 2: you working with? He can't have the people hire you
- 7:13Speaker 2: if you ain't put the app in.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Come on, man.
- 7:16Speaker 2: The blessing comes when you make a proactive step, when
- 7:20Speaker 2: you try to do something on the positive side. Look, man,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm going to quit messing around with all these people.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I'm going to start going home. I'm going to leave
- 7:28Speaker 2: these women alone out here. You got to say, all right, man,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I ain't going over there tonight. I just ain't going
- 7:33Speaker 2: to get it. Then God can work with you. God,
- 7:36Speaker 2: help me stop seeing all these women. But you steady
- 7:39Speaker 2: going over there, calling them, setting up stuff. Well, can't
- 7:44Speaker 2: nobody help you? Because once you get over there, you
- 7:46Speaker 2: already know. See, you got to get proactive. You got
- 7:51Speaker 2: to do something yourself. You make one step, he'll make two.
- 7:54Speaker 2: That's the key, man. So come on, y'all.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
