- 0:04Speaker 1: Don't forget this is the super Bowl coming up here.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Props are coming up. You can get the big prop
- 0:10Speaker 1: packet that they have every year. Special guest this week Vegas,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Pauli ce John.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Got him in here. Uh that's thank you for coming. Yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 3: No, I love doing it. I love doing it. Oh
- 0:20Speaker 3: really good.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks.
- 0:22Speaker 4: I've been wanting this. I've been wanting this for a
- 0:24Speaker 4: couple of years now. We talked it.
- 0:26Speaker 3: We first talked.
- 0:26Speaker 5: I ran, yeah, I was ready to go that over
- 0:29Speaker 5: at Venetian.
- 0:30Speaker 4: But you're doing some stuff with Venetiana.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I'm associated with them now. It's really a dream for me.
- 0:34Speaker 4: It's been cool watching you.
- 0:37Speaker 5: I've been following you now for whatever it's been three
- 0:39Speaker 5: three or four years, three years, okay, And just the
- 0:43Speaker 5: the the fun, the drama, the everything. I love that
- 0:48Speaker 5: you're so authentic. You put it out there when you
- 0:50Speaker 5: had the Taco place.
- 0:51Speaker 3: And all of it.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Not to bring up the Duke anything, but you know it.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Just I like that you're so you don't mind putting
- 0:58Speaker 5: yourself out there.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Neil is the same way Bill is.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I just if they do something wrong.
- 1:05Speaker 6: I like the lead people to know they throw me out,
- 1:07Speaker 6: by the way for using my brain winning.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'm thrown not a lot to play at. Caesar's not
- 1:10Speaker 2: a lot of the vetalizations. I'm not a lot of
- 1:12Speaker 2: the treasure around.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I can go on and on.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So I mean, and if they bam me, it's thrown
- 1:16Speaker 2: me out. It's throw me out.
- 1:17Speaker 5: And you both are very interesting to me because you
- 1:20Speaker 5: you both don't mind saying how you feel.
- 1:24Speaker 4: You know, Bill, Bill will pass our own sponsors.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Sometimes.
- 1:28Speaker 6: We went to the craft table last week, him and I.
- 1:30Speaker 6: I said, I don't gamble at the tables. You know,
- 1:33Speaker 6: I've I lost a lot of money when I was
- 1:34Speaker 6: younger cambling, so I don't do it anymore.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I do make a lot of money now.
- 1:38Speaker 6: So I said, John, I'm gonna give you a shot,
- 1:40Speaker 6: because he's bragging about how lucky he is.
- 1:42Speaker 2: John, come on, here's five nut. I okay, I go
- 1:43Speaker 2: to the crap table. You go to the craft table,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and the box person was just so nasty, miserable, and
- 1:49Speaker 2: even though it was in this building, I still went
- 1:51Speaker 2: after him. Throw me out. Fine, you can throw us
- 1:53Speaker 2: how they cant them from home I don't care. I
- 1:55Speaker 2: love the West Gat. I promote their stuff all the time.
- 1:57Speaker 6: But you know, so's a lot of things I see,
- 1:59Speaker 6: but now we watch your things.
- 2:00Speaker 5: And he went in the best was he went in
- 2:03Speaker 5: on Resorts World way back at like relentless, but he
- 2:06Speaker 5: was before.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Actually people started knowing him because of him. What's going
- 2:09Speaker 2: on with it?
- 2:10Speaker 5: But then they hired you, and they don't hire you,
- 2:13Speaker 5: but they were they had something.
- 2:14Speaker 2: They barred me, No they didn't.
- 2:15Speaker 3: They barred me for a year and awo, okay, and
- 2:17Speaker 3: then one day I got a call from Alex Dickson,
- 2:19Speaker 3: super nice guy. And it's funny because when the phone
- 2:21Speaker 3: call came in, it was a seven oh two number,
- 2:24Speaker 3: and I knew it was, you know, something important, And
- 2:26Speaker 3: I picked it up and it was Alex Dixon and
- 2:28Speaker 3: they had made him president for a little while.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yep, he was only there for one hundred and twelve days.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And a lot of his friends had contacted me because
- 2:36Speaker 3: he's an old school Vegas guy. He grew up on
- 2:38Speaker 3: the West Side. And they said, you know, give Alex
- 2:41Speaker 3: a chance, you know, And I said, who am I
- 2:44Speaker 3: to give Alex a chance? I said, they're not going
- 2:46Speaker 3: to give alex A Chance. I said, this is what
- 2:48Speaker 3: they're gonna do to him. They're gonna he's gonna be
- 2:49Speaker 3: in there a year, a year and a half. I
- 2:51Speaker 3: actually said this. Several of his friends contact him. Yeah,
- 2:54Speaker 3: and then they're just gonna throw him away and blame
- 2:56Speaker 3: everything on him.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And I was totally wrong, because he didn't make it
- 3:00Speaker 2: the year.
- 3:00Speaker 3: He was there one hundred and twelve days, so crazy,
- 3:03Speaker 3: and they used them up and they.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Throw them out.
- 3:05Speaker 3: But we met and we talked about the entrance off
- 3:07Speaker 3: the strip, we talked about the pizza place there, and
- 3:10Speaker 3: we talked about the alcohol. That it's just a waste
- 3:13Speaker 3: of time. But super nice guy, worship nothing but the best.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I'm sorry that they used.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They used him.
- 3:18Speaker 3: They you know, organizations that are awful, organizations that are corrupt,
- 3:22Speaker 3: they use people also. You know, that's one of the
- 3:24Speaker 3: things that really aggravates me. They get a decent person
- 3:28Speaker 3: in there, and because they don't know how to value
- 3:30Speaker 3: their customers, they certainly don't how to value their employees.
- 3:34Speaker 3: So you end up with a scenario where people are
- 3:36Speaker 3: just being used and thrown away, used and thrown away.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember when the Fond of
- 3:41Speaker 3: Blue opened up. You know, Jeff was like using employees
- 3:45Speaker 3: like toilet paper.
- 3:45Speaker 2: He was high executives. Yeah, they can throw them away.
- 3:49Speaker 3: In the first month, right, Jeff needs to look in
- 3:51Speaker 3: the mirror, Jeff.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You need to look in the mirror.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Jeff.
- 3:54Speaker 2: That's why you kept throwing people away, because if.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Everybody's a problem, you're the problem.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And I have no problem saying that.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And I have a great relationship with several people over there,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and you know causes it causes me trouble because I know,
- 4:09Speaker 3: like you know, I know the guy hates me. He's
- 4:11Speaker 3: the only executive I ever met in Las Vegas. Watched this.
- 4:16Speaker 3: They bring me upstairs, right, Poppy brought me upstairs.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Poppy's a great.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Guy, the guy that owns Poppy Steakers, and Poppy is
- 4:23Speaker 3: projecting through his lens. And Poppy's lens is love, inclusiveness, tolerance,
- 4:29Speaker 3: you know, he's just giving of himself all day long, Poppy,
- 4:32Speaker 3: and Poppy brings me upstairs, and I'm like, I'm cringing
- 4:35Speaker 3: because I know I've been an asshole. Like I know
- 4:38Speaker 3: that I attacked them before they opened because I knew
- 4:40Speaker 3: they were gonna I knew they were never gonna make
- 4:42Speaker 3: it open because I saw everything going on before it
- 4:44Speaker 3: opened there. And Poppy brings me upstairs and I go
- 4:47Speaker 3: to meet Jeff, and Jeff goes like, no, it's the
- 4:50Speaker 3: only executive.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And Brett Mumfson made fun of me.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So those are the two executives at the Fallen Blow,
- 4:55Speaker 3: Jeff Sofer and Brett Mumpson. Jeff turned his back on me,
- 4:58Speaker 3: didn't shake my hand, I swear to God, and Brett
- 5:01Speaker 3: muffs had made fun of me, like within the first
- 5:02Speaker 3: ten seconds I met him, and I found out the
- 5:05Speaker 3: story about Brett. I don't even know.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I about nice.
- 5:07Speaker 6: You know, even if you don't feel that way, you
- 5:09Speaker 6: just put the clown makeup on for a second to
- 5:11Speaker 6: project yourself nice.
- 5:12Speaker 2: They don't. I mean, that guy's stealing paychecks.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Well, and he ain't hired at five billion dollars, so
- 5:17Speaker 3: why should he shake my hand? Oh he's so great, right,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I don't care at this point. So are you allowed
- 5:22Speaker 2: in there?
- 5:24Speaker 3: Well, then I give him a lot of.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Credit for him. Okay. So I was very hard on resources.
- 5:27Speaker 2: While that was very hard on the Fomblo. In fact,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I get tired.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I was thinking about this yesterday because Caesar's and MGM
- 5:33Speaker 3: are just completely screwed, and I get tired of being negative.
- 5:36Speaker 2: You know, it's exhausting being negative. Good point.
- 5:38Speaker 3: There are some great operators in town, Red Rock Resorts,
- 5:42Speaker 3: the Fertitas. Ye oh my god, Like you could bring
- 5:45Speaker 3: in I think I told you this. You can bring
- 5:47Speaker 3: me into a Red Rock property and say, you know,
- 5:49Speaker 3: big this place. He was gonna pay you one hundred
- 5:50Speaker 3: thousand dollars as a consultants.
- 5:52Speaker 2: What would you do here? How would I improve the Durangum?
- 5:57Speaker 3: I love?
- 5:58Speaker 2: The sports book is perfect, great, the rules are great.
- 6:01Speaker 3: They have the great Crafts game.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It's like, so you know, you have to acknowledge the
- 6:06Speaker 2: great operators.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I can go through Vegas and he's like, you know
- 6:09Speaker 3: the South Point, that guy Michael, Michael Going is a
- 6:12Speaker 3: world champion, world champion because he's a game and.
- 6:15Speaker 4: They're so loyal to him, his employees. But there's people
- 6:17Speaker 4: in the game.
- 6:19Speaker 3: So you know, you got Red Rock, you got Michael Going,
- 6:21Speaker 3: you got a couple of operators downtown Derek Stevens, Jonathan Jossel. Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 3: you know, I'm I'm involved with him. Ye, So you
- 6:27Speaker 3: know there's a little bias there.
- 6:29Speaker 4: But he's a great guy.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Right. I'm not involved with Derek at all, but I'll still.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Tell you wow. Yeah, Like you know, look what he
- 6:35Speaker 3: did with the Canadian currency, like right, and I don't
- 6:39Speaker 3: know if you're a member, but he opened.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Right during COVID, Derek, And.
- 6:43Speaker 3: So what did he do? He gave away and I
- 6:45Speaker 3: don't remember the number, but it had to be like
- 6:46Speaker 3: six thousand airline tickets, right, Yes, you should all fly
- 6:50Speaker 3: you here?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah, anybody else I can tell you this. I'm not
- 6:53Speaker 2: as strong as Derek.
- 6:54Speaker 3: If I was opening during COVID, I would have.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Been under my desk crying like girls.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I would have been like, oh my god, i'spend a
- 7:01Speaker 3: billion dollars of opening during COVID. So there's a reason
- 7:05Speaker 3: that guys like Derek are successful.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Well, hey didn't didn't Circa and Resorts World both open
- 7:11Speaker 5: during COVID.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Right, and look at the look at the look at
- 7:14Speaker 3: the attitude difference. You know, you go down to the Circa,
- 7:15Speaker 3: you get have a great time. There's there's more creativity
- 7:20Speaker 3: in Derek Stevens pinky yeah than there is in the
- 7:23Speaker 3: whole Resorts World company.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Like everywhere you go.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I've been to Resorts World, Caskills looks like a hospital.
- 7:28Speaker 3: It's boring.
- 7:29Speaker 2: There's nothing going on there. I've been to Resorts World Queens.
- 7:32Speaker 3: It looks like a hospital. There's nothing going on there.
- 7:35Speaker 3: There's what like your corporate policy is what boredom? Your
- 7:38Speaker 3: corporate policy is to be as dry and as office
- 7:42Speaker 3: or hospital looking as possible.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Some believe, well, no one has the pulse of the
- 7:46Speaker 6: casino resorts that knows what.
- 7:48Speaker 3: It's every property, It's not just the one in it's
- 7:51Speaker 3: go to the one in Queens, go to the one
- 7:52Speaker 3: and Caskills like, I've been to them, so you know,
- 7:55Speaker 3: and I don't have any kind of relationship at all
- 7:57Speaker 3: with Derek, but I'll go outside and I'll say, wow,
- 8:01Speaker 3: look at this pool area.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Who would have thought of this? I would have never
- 8:04Speaker 2: thought of that.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Right, that's sports book And you know the other reason
- 8:07Speaker 3: you give Derek a lot of credit is because sportsbook business.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And you know this because you're beating them, right. Sportsbook
- 8:13Speaker 2: business is a terrible business.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And he's making a whole property around this based on
- 8:18Speaker 3: the like, pick the worst thing to make a property, right.
- 8:21Speaker 3: You know when I say worst, I mean the most
- 8:23Speaker 3: marginal money work. Sure, and there he is sure and
- 8:26Speaker 3: he still exists.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I mean, shakes everyone's head at the tops at the sportsbook.
- 8:30Speaker 2: We've had him on a couple of times.
- 8:31Speaker 3: You know, I'm pretty close to them, so you know,
- 8:32Speaker 3: I want to be a little more positive, you know.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I know I'm constantly bashing Tom Reeve and Caesar's and
- 8:38Speaker 3: the other thing about MGM is I love the employees
- 8:40Speaker 3: at MGM, and there's so many old school, great employees
- 8:43Speaker 3: over there. But they're stuck in a scenario. And you
- 8:47Speaker 3: guys know this. They sold all their real estate, every
- 8:50Speaker 3: last property, and I could be wrong.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I know Caesars didn't sell every property.
- 8:54Speaker 3: They still own things like the Flamingo. Every last property
- 8:57Speaker 3: with MGM has been sold to the read so they
- 8:59Speaker 3: no longer control it. And that's going on. And at
- 9:02Speaker 3: the same time, they're buying back their stock. I say
- 9:05Speaker 3: to financial people, I say, I want you to find
- 9:07Speaker 3: me another company that has brought back forty percent of
- 9:10Speaker 3: its float over the last five years.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And the stock's down.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Like they had a twenty billion dollar market cap now
- 9:16Speaker 3: their market cap is nine billion.
- 9:18Speaker 2: So they're out there borrowing money. Now. I know they
- 9:20Speaker 2: borrow money to build their I Gaming Network.
- 9:23Speaker 3: But they also borrowed a lot of money and brought
- 9:25Speaker 3: back I'm sorry, they borrowed a lot of money and
- 9:28Speaker 3: invested it in what Jamie Fox at seven million dollars
- 9:32Speaker 3: a year, Hey Jamie Fox? That nothing. I love Jamie Fox.
- 9:37Speaker 3: If you ask me who the most talented person is
- 9:40Speaker 3: in entertainment, think about it, music, dancing, comedy, acting.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Am I missing something?
- 9:47Speaker 3: He's a five tool guy, But sports gaming it doesn't.
- 9:52Speaker 3: It's just some reason. It just doesn't. It doesn't match
- 9:54Speaker 3: for me.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Same thing they'd they'd beenced fore.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Hilarious guy, great guy.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I saw him in it, so him inn as Caesar's
- 10:00Speaker 2: commercial or maybe an MGM commercial.
- 10:02Speaker 3: And I'm like, what did they pay that? Somebody told
- 10:04Speaker 3: me he got paid two million dollars.
- 10:07Speaker 2: That's why he was well.
- 10:08Speaker 3: But it just doesn't make any sense. You know. I
- 10:10Speaker 3: gambled the other night with a guy who I tangentially know.
- 10:13Speaker 2: His name is Maddy Bets. He said, I R okay, okay,
- 10:17Speaker 2: do you have a guy like Maddy Bets?
- 10:18Speaker 3: Half a million dollars a thousand times one of three?
- 10:22Speaker 3: And this is the mistake that corporate people make when
- 10:26Speaker 3: you look at pen Pen Gaming pen Gaming. That guy
- 10:31Speaker 3: Snowden is looking through his prism. This is the problem
- 10:33Speaker 3: with casino executives. They're looking through their prison. So he's
- 10:36Speaker 3: looking through his prism and he sees Dave Portnoy again.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Dave Portnoy is a fantastic personality, fantastic guy, wildly entertaining.
- 10:46Speaker 2: But think about his message, think about his show, think
- 10:49Speaker 2: about what he does.
- 10:50Speaker 3: He's an iconoclast, right, a bit of an iconoclast. He's
- 10:54Speaker 3: a capitalist. He believes in getting great value on his
- 10:57Speaker 3: sports bets, on his gaming, and he is twenty million followers. Okay, yep.
- 11:02Speaker 3: So when Penn Gaming did the deal with portnoying, did
- 11:06Speaker 3: they really think that Dave Portnoy's twenty million followers who
- 11:09Speaker 3: are going to be like Dave, They're gonna be iconoclass
- 11:12Speaker 3: They're gonna be rebels, They're gonna be guys who are
- 11:15Speaker 3: looking for that extra half point. They're gonna be guys
- 11:17Speaker 3: that and you know this because you're in sports gaming.
- 11:18Speaker 3: They're gonna be guys who are gonna be looking for
- 11:20Speaker 3: that bonus, but that sign up bonus. So while Dave
- 11:24Speaker 3: is amazing and all the stoolies are hilarious and incredible
- 11:27Speaker 3: and everybody's entertaining. It's not really a customer base that
- 11:31Speaker 3: you want because they're always going to be looking for
- 11:33Speaker 3: the best deal, the best value. So yeah, give Dave
- 11:37Speaker 3: all that money. And of course it was a total disaster. Yep,
- 11:40Speaker 3: twenty million stoolies are not going to suddenly say, oh
- 11:43Speaker 3: my god, Dave is part of this, I'm going to
- 11:45Speaker 3: join Penn Gaming Sportsbook.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And I'm no.
- 11:49Speaker 3: They're the kind of guys who are looking for an edge.
- 11:51Speaker 3: They're the kind of guys who are looking for a price.
- 11:52Speaker 3: They're the kind of guys who are cool and iconoclass
- 11:55Speaker 3: and so it's just idiotic.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Sure, and these corporate guys look through this Lene Now,
- 12:00Speaker 2: to me, it's disrespectful.
- 12:03Speaker 3: We are I'm a gamble.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I'm a degenerate gamble. I don't I don't hide it
- 12:06Speaker 2: from anybody.
- 12:06Speaker 3: You know, I've been right, I've got I've got my issues.
- 12:11Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, I'm not going.
- 12:13Speaker 2: To just follow.
- 12:15Speaker 3: If they would look through there, if they would stop
- 12:16Speaker 3: looking through their lens, I'm not just going to follow
- 12:19Speaker 3: Dave Portnoy or Jamie Fox, and.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Those are two people I love. I think is effing amazing, But.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I'm not going to follow them to a shitty product,
- 12:30Speaker 3: so why and but corporate thinks that that's what's gonna happen, right,
- 12:33Speaker 3: And now you.
- 12:34Speaker 2: See Caesar's doing it over and over and over going.
- 12:36Speaker 3: If I see one more vander Pump or one more
- 12:39Speaker 3: Gordon Ramsey, it's like, stop already, You're boring the hell
- 12:42Speaker 3: out of everybody. It's at the end of the day.
- 12:45Speaker 3: This is my opinion. It's very subjective. It's lazy thinking.
- 12:50Speaker 3: In other words, Caesar's can't come up with anything, so
- 12:53Speaker 3: they just keep calling up Gordon Ramsay because of formula. Right,
- 12:56Speaker 3: it worked once and now they're just going to keep
- 12:58Speaker 3: doing And it's really awful about it. And I think
- 13:01Speaker 3: you may know this because you're a gambler. You said
- 13:03Speaker 3: you're a gambler. What's really awful about it is is
- 13:06Speaker 3: that as gamblers, we want to see different We want
- 13:10Speaker 3: to see a different product. We don't want to see
- 13:12Speaker 3: Gordon Ramsey. You know, a million times we'd rather see
- 13:14Speaker 3: Joe's Burger and Sam's Burger and Eddies Burger than one
- 13:17Speaker 3: more Gordon Ramsey burger. They don't understand that AD eighty
- 13:21Speaker 3: a d HD people people who are gamblers. Our addiction
- 13:25Speaker 3: is always the action, something different, a different game, a
- 13:28Speaker 3: different sporting event.
- 13:30Speaker 2: That's the best thing.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But their but their mentality is formula formula, formula formula.
- 13:35Speaker 3: So what do they end up doing? What is Caesar's doing?
- 13:38Speaker 3: You're boring the hell out of your customers, just like
- 13:41Speaker 3: resorts well did unintentionally? You think about Steve Win, I mean,
- 13:45Speaker 3: he's the icon, He's the god. Every part of Steve
- 13:48Speaker 3: Win's property thrills the eye. You know. I was in
- 13:52Speaker 3: the wind a couple of months ago, I'll never forget it,
- 13:54Speaker 3: and I walked by a couple of guys and they're
- 13:56Speaker 3: standing like this.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And there having a conversation about the tray.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Ceiling at the Wind, right and how beautiful it is
- 14:04Speaker 3: right now. This is seventeen years after the wind opened up,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and they're still standing their mess.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Maraz.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I actually learned from watching Steve the other day that
- 14:12Speaker 3: curve is called the Arabesque. Who so according to Steve,
- 14:16Speaker 3: and I think he's right, the Arabesque, which is the curve,
- 14:20Speaker 3: is thrilling to the gambling. Wow, right, So I was,
- 14:24Speaker 3: and I was so fascinated to hear him talk about
- 14:26Speaker 3: that because I was walking by the wind and I said, Wow,
- 14:30Speaker 3: there's just something about the two curves of this building
- 14:33Speaker 3: that makes me want to go in. Now when I
- 14:35Speaker 3: go to City Center and I stand, I knew city Center,
- 14:38Speaker 3: city Center. People don't understand that.
- 14:40Speaker 2: People haven't really done the research. City Center almost bankrupted MGM.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yes right.
- 14:44Speaker 3: They had to sell. They had to sell Treasure Island
- 14:46Speaker 3: to Phil Ralphin to raise enough money to stay open.
- 14:48Speaker 2: They had a mortgage up in New York, New York.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They were paying fifteen percent for the money, so it
- 14:52Speaker 3: almost bankrupted. If you're and same thing with fonton Blue,
- 14:56Speaker 3: whoever the architect is from font and Blue come up
- 15:00Speaker 3: from the south and what do you hit? A cold
- 15:03Speaker 3: blue wall?
- 15:03Speaker 4: That's about crazy.
- 15:04Speaker 3: It's about as inviting as what true. Yeah, you know,
- 15:07Speaker 3: when you're a gambler and you're gonna go someplace. Talk
- 15:10Speaker 3: about the Bellagio, which obviously Steve doesn't anymore. He got
- 15:13Speaker 3: two years out of it before it was stolen from him.
- 15:15Speaker 3: As far as I'm concerned, it opens up to you.
- 15:19Speaker 3: It's a lake. I ran into the director of I
- 15:22Speaker 3: guess he's the director of landscaping. Somebody said to me,
- 15:24Speaker 3: we're gonna be flying in palm trees early in the morning,
- 15:27Speaker 3: if you want to come and sit now when they
- 15:29Speaker 3: say flying in, in other words, they're gonna put them on
- 15:30Speaker 3: the crane.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And fly them over.
- 15:32Speaker 3: So of course I made the video and I ran
- 15:34Speaker 3: into the director of the wind.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I guess he's the director of landscaping, and he said to.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Me, Paul, and I was complimented because I said, wow,
- 15:41Speaker 3: I don't know if you know this or not, but
- 15:43Speaker 3: the little pond in front of the wind, everything was
- 15:45Speaker 3: updated around it.
- 15:45Speaker 2: They've put all kinds of lights, they put all extra
- 15:47Speaker 2: palm trees. They made it absolutely, they improved it one
- 15:50Speaker 2: hundred percent.
- 15:51Speaker 3: He said to me, Paul, water lighting and foliage is
- 15:56Speaker 3: in our DNA here at wind. And I said, yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 3: you think about it. Think about how bad city Center looks.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I don't want to look at City Center. I don't
- 16:05Speaker 3: want to look at the Fonda Blue. Now, to be fair,
- 16:07Speaker 3: the Fonda Blue is beautiful on the inside. But again,
- 16:10Speaker 3: but again, if you know Steve Win, if you really
- 16:13Speaker 3: studied him and heard like eighty million, uh you know
- 16:15Speaker 3: speeches that he's given him and Elane had a huge
- 16:19Speaker 3: fight over that cold blue collar that Jeff has throughout
- 16:22Speaker 3: the property and Steve's perspective, and Elaine wanted that color
- 16:27Speaker 3: in a restaurant, and Steve said to Elaine, I do
- 16:30Speaker 3: not want that collar in my casino. So you guys
- 16:34Speaker 3: remember the Mirage right before that cold blue that was nowhere.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Nowhere in the Mirage.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I mean when you walked in the Marage, they had
- 16:41Speaker 3: the soft yellow, right and what they had and they
- 16:43Speaker 3: had the rainforest, yeah, some fish tank behind them. There's
- 16:47Speaker 3: some fantastic operators that have come through Vegas. Steve went
- 16:51Speaker 3: of course, Sheldon Natleson, who was a constant businessman. The
- 16:53Speaker 3: Fertiga is now I would say, you know, they've got
- 16:56Speaker 3: it over everybody. Yeah, I mean maybe it would be
- 16:59Speaker 3: Michael gorm but he's a eighties now, you know. But
- 17:01Speaker 3: these great operators. Derek Stevens is incredible, Jonathan Jostly is incredible.
- 17:05Speaker 3: So I almost am starting to feel bad because the
- 17:07Speaker 3: corporate people that came in and the people that really
- 17:10Speaker 3: don't have any talents that are running two major corporations
- 17:13Speaker 3: in Las Vegas, right, wow, And this is what I'm
- 17:17Speaker 3: angry about. People say, I mean, you know, my partner says,
- 17:19Speaker 3: he's so angry. What are you angry about, Paul? They
- 17:22Speaker 3: ruined my medicine. My medicine is gambling. I need to
- 17:25Speaker 3: gamble for medical reasons. I'm really not kidding. I have
- 17:27Speaker 3: a deficiency. And so you came in. You stole the
- 17:31Speaker 3: Blagia from Steve Win. You know, the stock went down
- 17:33Speaker 3: to eleven and they rushed in there. Actually was Corbarian,
- 17:37Speaker 3: Kirkaborian whatever it is, Grekorian, I never say that the name people.
- 17:41Speaker 2: It was actually Korean.
- 17:43Speaker 3: But the MGM people took it. And what have they
- 17:45Speaker 3: done with What have they done? What have they done
- 17:48Speaker 3: with MGM? All they did was they sold off They
- 17:50Speaker 3: sold off the Mirage, they sold off Treasure Island, they
- 17:53Speaker 3: sold off Circus Circus. They paid five point six billion
- 17:56Speaker 3: dollars for the Cosmopolitan when they could have had it
- 17:58Speaker 3: for one point seven billion. In two thousand and four,
- 18:00Speaker 3: team Blackstone walked with four billion dollars.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Is the biggest profit that Blackstone ever made it.
- 18:05Speaker 3: And so what have they done? The corporate people that
- 18:07Speaker 3: have stolen Steve's legacy, They've done nothing. And Caesar's I mean,
- 18:11Speaker 3: don't even get me started. So this is what's happening
- 18:14Speaker 3: right now. Twenty twenty six and you know it, and
- 18:17Speaker 3: you know it, and everybody in town knows it. These
- 18:20Speaker 3: two companies, Caesar's weigh more than MGM because there's still
- 18:23Speaker 3: some quality product and there's still some fantastic people at MGM.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Caesar's primarily has destroyed Las Vegas, how by giving it
- 18:32Speaker 3: a black eye with the private price cougey. When you
- 18:35Speaker 3: are charging fourteen dollars for a bacon, egg and cheese
- 18:38Speaker 3: sandwich right now, you're not charging that here's credit to
- 18:42Speaker 3: the win. You're not charging that to people who are wealthy.
- 18:45Speaker 3: You're charging that to Middle America. So Middle America is
- 18:48Speaker 3: coming to Vegas. They're getting a coffee and a bacon,
- 18:50Speaker 3: egg and cheese sandwich and it's twenty seven dollars with tax.
- 18:54Speaker 2: What is that? That's a black eye to lost. You're
- 18:57Speaker 2: ruining Las Vegas.
- 18:58Speaker 3: These two companies have done. Now. The Wind will tell you,
- 19:01Speaker 3: In fact, they talked about it in a conference call.
- 19:05Speaker 3: The Wind will tell you, and I will tell you
- 19:07Speaker 3: from personal perspective, the win. When you go in there
- 19:10Speaker 3: and you buy food, they do not gouge you. It's
- 19:14Speaker 3: not cheap. I'm not going to tell you it's cheap.
- 19:16Speaker 3: But I went in the wind the other day and
- 19:17Speaker 3: I got a large caramello, which is an involved coffee.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It's tall.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I don't know what it's gotten. It's got all kinds
- 19:23Speaker 3: of stuff in there. Then she goes to charge me.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Because I'm so damaged by Las Vegas, I immediately think
- 19:29Speaker 3: I give in her twenty ill don't. I'm like, this
- 19:31Speaker 3: is gonna be eleven seventy five, it's going to be
- 19:33Speaker 3: twelve twenty five.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It was eight oh one.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Now is that cheap? No? But I don't feel gouged, right,
- 19:40Speaker 3: do you understand?
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah? Sure, same thing with the wind.
- 19:42Speaker 3: I remember two years ago, when I was really attacking
- 19:44Speaker 3: Resorts World, I would go into the wind and I
- 19:47Speaker 3: would get a cocktail. Now the wind is you know,
- 19:49Speaker 3: it's the top of the top, right, and I would
- 19:52Speaker 3: get a cocktail.
- 19:52Speaker 2: It was nineteen dollars.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I would get a whatever it was. What do they
- 19:56Speaker 3: call that drink with the coffee in it?
- 20:00Speaker 2: Martino.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'll get the espresso Martinez, nineteen dollars. I'll go across
- 20:04Speaker 3: the street and I would buy the same espresso Martin years,
- 20:07Speaker 3: it's well twenty seven to fifty. That's insane. And I
- 20:11Speaker 3: was like, I was like, you're gonna charge eight dollars
- 20:13Speaker 3: ATL And that's when I knew. That's when I got
- 20:15Speaker 3: the sense that they're completely, completely incompetent. And then the
- 20:20Speaker 3: more angry I got, the more I went in on them.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And then one day I showed up there and they're like,
- 20:24Speaker 3: get out.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Of the building.
- 20:26Speaker 3: And I saw that video. I was like so shocked
- 20:29Speaker 3: because I'm an American and I kind of thought free
- 20:32Speaker 3: speech was sort of like everywhere, but people online were like,
- 20:35Speaker 3: you're an idiot. You can't go against the company like
- 20:38Speaker 3: that and not expect to get kicked out. But honestly,
- 20:42Speaker 3: I expected to not get kicked out. I didn't know
- 20:44Speaker 3: that like being critical, sure, you know what I mean, Like,
- 20:47Speaker 3: you know the thing that these corporations need to learn,
- 20:50Speaker 3: especially resorts, well but a lot of them, and I
- 20:53Speaker 3: didn't learn it until I was fifty seven years old.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Fifty eight years old, there's so much to learn from
- 21:00Speaker 3: your critics. I'll go into my chat and every once
- 21:04Speaker 3: in a while I'll see something in there that says whatever,
- 21:06Speaker 3: and I'll be like, okay, all right. I mean even
- 21:09Speaker 3: this morning I posted something and someone said pull the
- 21:12Speaker 3: book that you're talking about. It's not barbarians at the gate,
- 21:15Speaker 3: it's not lions at the Gate, it's Caesar's Palace.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Coup I got. I said, you're right.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I just remember now you reminded me of what the
- 21:22Speaker 3: name of the book was that I was referencing in
- 21:24Speaker 3: this video. And so you can learn. You have the
- 21:27Speaker 3: power of a thousand minds in my social media that
- 21:30Speaker 3: people commenting.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I'm learning facts, I'm learning figures, I'm going deeper on things.
- 21:35Speaker 3: So the open mind. Now, let's talk about Jonathan Jossely.
- 21:38Speaker 2: From minute Yeah, I was gonna ask you. I wanted
- 21:40Speaker 2: to know how to come about I'm gonna tell you.
- 21:43Speaker 3: And one of the reasons I got chills sometimes when
- 21:45Speaker 3: I talk about this because when I was at my lowest,
- 21:48Speaker 3: but there was another content creator. I'm not gonna mention
- 21:51Speaker 3: her name, but to me, she's the devil. There was
- 21:54Speaker 3: another content creator that I was at war with in
- 21:56Speaker 3: Las Vegas because a million different reasons. She put it
- 21:59Speaker 3: out up there that I'm a total liar and I'm
- 22:01Speaker 3: this and she did a post two years ago and
- 22:04Speaker 3: it said no corporation in Las Vegas, not the circa
- 22:08Speaker 3: where he's bored which is not true.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Derek never borrored me. I have a decent relationship with
- 22:12Speaker 2: the circa.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Richard Wilke is a fantastic, fantastic guy of a great relate.
- 22:17Speaker 2: He never barred me.
- 22:17Speaker 3: In fact, he got angry when she posted that Red
- 22:20Speaker 3: Rock will find out the wind He's bored. She said
- 22:25Speaker 3: that I was bored everywhere and that no one will
- 22:27Speaker 3: ever do.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Business with me in Las Vegas. Yeah, it took two
- 22:30Speaker 2: more years, but.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I give Jonathan going back to Jonathan, I give Jonathan
- 22:34Speaker 3: so much credit because no matter how dark my days were,
- 22:36Speaker 3: no matter how bad things were for me in Las Vegas. Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 3: and I know for a fact he never told me.
- 22:42Speaker 3: But I know because he alluded to it.
- 22:44Speaker 2: He never put it in my face, because he's not
- 22:45Speaker 2: that kind of guy.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I know that Jonathan took phone call after phone call.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Why are you dealing with this guy? Why are you
- 22:54Speaker 3: supporting this guy? Why are you still standing by this guy?
- 22:57Speaker 3: What and my darkest days? I know he took the Yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 3: you know, he never wavered, you know, And that's the
- 23:05Speaker 3: genius of someone like Jonathan. He's so tolerant. Yeah, so
- 23:09Speaker 3: now we have this amazing relationship. In fact, I'm going
- 23:11Speaker 3: there at eleven o'clock. I livestream Blackjack from there. I
- 23:14Speaker 3: changed a few rules over there. I came up, I said, Jonathan,
- 23:17Speaker 3: and you know you're old, tall, small. It's one fifty
- 23:19Speaker 3: to one. I remember when it was one seventy five
- 23:21Speaker 3: to one on the crap table. One day I woke
- 23:24Speaker 3: up and every corporation had changed into one hundred and
- 23:26Speaker 3: fifty to one. Now the house edge is seven percent
- 23:29Speaker 3: at one seventy five, which is a healthy house edge.
- 23:31Speaker 2: You're a candle, you know that. And they had to
- 23:33Speaker 2: make it one fifty to one and pick up a.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Twenty percent house session. I said, Jonathan, why don't you
- 23:37Speaker 3: put it back? Now? This is not a selfless act
- 23:42Speaker 3: by me. The things that I do are not because
- 23:46Speaker 3: I'm a great guy or I'm selfless. I want him
- 23:49Speaker 3: to do it for two reasons. Number one, it's great
- 23:52Speaker 3: for the gambler. Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Number two, I want the social media.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Of saying, wow, look at this applause to put back.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Well that's the ego, Well this is actual. There's a
- 24:00Speaker 3: third part. I'm sorry, you're right, the ego part. But
- 24:03Speaker 3: the second part is I want the content. So I
- 24:06Speaker 3: was over there already twice. One time I was with
- 24:08Speaker 3: my partner, and my partner loves betting the old tools small.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I don't agree with it because it's a seven percent
- 24:13Speaker 3: house edge, but he bet it and he hit it,
- 24:16Speaker 3: and he hit it live on camera and I caught Look,
- 24:18Speaker 3: I caught the dice in the mid air. It was
- 24:21Speaker 3: a video I did, and the dice were actually on
- 24:23Speaker 3: the three which we needed to hit, and then.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It rolled in the three.
- 24:27Speaker 3: So that's good social medium. Amazing, and that's why I
- 24:30Speaker 3: like when they change the rules now more credit to
- 24:32Speaker 3: Jonathan jossely. So I say to Jonathan, he's opening table
- 24:37Speaker 3: games in his front casino there. I don't if you
- 24:38Speaker 3: guys have seen it enough. There's a front casino and
- 24:40Speaker 3: we're working on a project together. I don't know if
- 24:42Speaker 3: he's really ready for me to disclose it whatever, But
- 24:45Speaker 3: I said, Tom, Jonathan, I said, if you're going to
- 24:47Speaker 3: put a casino in the front there, I needed to
- 24:49Speaker 3: be the best or the best because I'm going to
- 24:52Speaker 3: be doing social media there.
- 24:53Speaker 2: There's gonna be other influencers there. I need something to
- 24:55Speaker 2: talk about.
- 24:56Speaker 3: He goes, Okay, Paula, what do you want? I said,
- 24:58Speaker 3: I want you to put. And again there's ego in this.
- 25:03Speaker 3: So I apologize before I say this, but I'm sorry
- 25:06Speaker 3: my ego in flakes when I say this. Johnath said,
- 25:08Speaker 3: I want you to put strip rules downtown on the
- 25:10Speaker 3: black jack get Okay, So this is the first. I mean,
- 25:14Speaker 3: there might be one other place. I don't know conclusively,
- 25:16Speaker 3: but I'm pretty certain there's no.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Strip rules for blackjack downtown. The point is there's strip rules.
- 25:22Speaker 3: So that's re splitting Ace's surrender of course three to
- 25:25Speaker 3: two and.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Of course double after splits. Yep, that's great they put
- 25:29Speaker 2: strip rules downtown.
- 25:30Speaker 3: But not only that. I say, but I need this,
- 25:34Speaker 3: and you need to put unlimited splitting because I found
- 25:38Speaker 3: out over.
- 25:39Speaker 2: The last two months. This is something I only found
- 25:40Speaker 2: out sixty days ago.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I found out sixty days ago since I posted started
- 25:45Speaker 3: posting gambling clips. What are the clips that do the
- 25:49Speaker 3: absolute best? Of course, I get my metrics.
- 25:51Speaker 2: What worked, what worked, what worked? If it works, what
- 25:53Speaker 2: am I gonna do? I'm gonna keep going back to
- 25:54Speaker 2: the well.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Hell, I went to the lake up there in Death
- 25:57Speaker 3: Valley for six times. I worked for content when it
- 26:00Speaker 3: filled up with water, filled up with water twice in
- 26:02Speaker 3: the last two years, so I knew that splitting was
- 26:07Speaker 3: like amazing and social media with the clips. So if
- 26:10Speaker 3: you get resplit sevens resplit, he's god. If he got
- 26:12Speaker 3: a four split, I have a four split on YouTube.
- 26:14Speaker 3: It's got over two million years. It hasn't happened yet,
- 26:17Speaker 3: of course, because he just he hasn't opened the game yet,
- 26:19Speaker 3: so he's opening on February fifth. But if I get
- 26:22Speaker 3: a five split, in other words, two's five times against
- 26:25Speaker 3: a six or six times, I once had it. I
- 26:28Speaker 3: once had eight six times. The only other casino that
- 26:31Speaker 3: I know him in America that has that rule as
- 26:34Speaker 3: Bohegan Sun in Connecticut.
- 26:35Speaker 2: They have unlimited splitting. The only place, and I'm sure
- 26:37Speaker 2: there are places in Michigan that have it.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I'm sure there are places in Washington State that have it,
- 26:42Speaker 3: but nowhere in Vegas has it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So what did he do? What did Jonathan Jossell do?
- 26:46Speaker 3: He put strip rules, and he put unlimited splitting, which
- 26:49Speaker 3: is worth another couple hundreds of a percent. So he's
- 26:51Speaker 3: got now he has, and now I can do social
- 26:54Speaker 3: media on it. This conclusively, I can tell you, is
- 26:57Speaker 3: the best six deck blackjack game in Las veg without
- 27:01Speaker 3: a doubt that Yeah, because it's stripples which is two
- 27:03Speaker 3: six and then a couple of points for the repat.
- 27:06Speaker 2: So guys like that, you know that will work with me.
- 27:11Speaker 4: He really understood the value of social media. He's started
- 27:14Speaker 4: for and if you built that slot to night sir,
- 27:17Speaker 4: that slot section for.
- 27:18Speaker 3: So he'll tell the story and I'm gonna quote him directly, yeah,
- 27:20Speaker 3: because he's not here twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, he started
- 27:24Speaker 3: dealing with the slot influencers and Brian Christopher and a
- 27:27Speaker 3: lot of people on YouTube, and he took the phone
- 27:30Speaker 3: calls and I'm quoting him here. Guys we called me
- 27:34Speaker 3: up and they would say, why are you dealing with
- 27:36Speaker 3: those people?
- 27:37Speaker 2: That's a waste of time.
- 27:38Speaker 3: These YouTubers are a waste of time. He was on it,
- 27:42Speaker 3: what five years before anybody else, and that's why when
- 27:46Speaker 3: he reached out to me, I had one hundred thousand followers.
- 27:48Speaker 3: When he reached out to me, Yeah, I was like,
- 27:50Speaker 3: oh my god, the casino owner is going to do
- 27:52Speaker 3: the first person to talk to me, first casino owner. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 3: And I was just like rolling. I was so excited.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 3: So I still have a great relationship him and I
- 28:00Speaker 3: will always remember that in my darkest days, you know, Jonathan.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Was there was that one of your like proudest moments. Also,
- 28:11Speaker 5: like he called me two years because that's the biggest reward,
- 28:14Speaker 5: right from Okay, what you're doing.
- 28:15Speaker 3: So I'll tell you who I am because I don't care.
- 28:18Speaker 3: I'll admit things and they're semi embarrassing, but.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't give any f's.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I'm sixty one years old and I get no f's.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Ken shredded by the way, right, Yeah, there's a restaurant
- 28:28Speaker 3: in West Las Vegas, like four miles west on Saharan.
- 28:31Speaker 3: It's called me either the Spotted Pig. I should remember
- 28:34Speaker 3: the name, right, It's called something Pig and what it
- 28:36Speaker 3: is is an Asian restaurant and they have they cook
- 28:39Speaker 3: the food in front of you whatever. That was the
- 28:42Speaker 3: very first people who called me two and a half
- 28:44Speaker 3: years ago and said will you come down.
- 28:46Speaker 2: We'll give you a free meal. Whatever.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I was in the basement.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I started crying.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I mean I cried like a little girl. My girlfriend
- 28:54Speaker 3: knows how emotional I am.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Which is key when you're a gambler and you're dealing
- 28:57Speaker 2: with the public. The reason you have to be emotional.
- 29:01Speaker 3: The reason you have to be says it if the
- 29:02Speaker 3: reason you have to be a person who cries, the
- 29:05Speaker 3: reason you have to be a person who hurts, the
- 29:07Speaker 3: reason you have to be a person who knows pain
- 29:09Speaker 3: is because your customer base is going through all of
- 29:13Speaker 3: these emotions on an effing weekly basis.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And if you can't have the empathy to.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Understand that your customer's going through this, do not be
- 29:21Speaker 3: in this business.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And that is why I am so angry with the
- 29:24Speaker 2: Tom Reeves of the world, with the Jeff Sofers of
- 29:27Speaker 2: the world.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I'm so pissed at them because they have no idea
- 29:31Speaker 3: how the time of how we are suffering as degenerate
- 29:34Speaker 3: gamblers and what we need is gamblers and how we
- 29:37Speaker 3: need to be treated. And f you if you don't
- 29:39Speaker 3: feel our pain, you know, and I'll get again.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'll step back. A terrible losing streak.
- 29:46Speaker 3: In twenty eighteen, I was making all kinds of money
- 29:49Speaker 3: and I was at the Wynn and there's a casino
- 29:51Speaker 3: host day named Ariselli.
- 29:53Speaker 2: I didn't even remember her last name, but I remember
- 29:55Speaker 2: her first name. It's ARISSELLI that actually may be her
- 29:57Speaker 2: last name.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I think that may be her last name, but it's.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Arcelly to me.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I remember how sensitive she was, you know when I
- 30:05Speaker 3: lost one hundred grand. I remember how kind she was.
- 30:07Speaker 3: I remember the way she treated me. I remember you
- 30:10Speaker 3: could go into a Resorts World tomorrow and it was
- 30:12Speaker 3: fifty grand. Nobody gives two f's the employees. And then
- 30:15Speaker 3: the other thing that happens is and this is why
- 30:18Speaker 3: I know I'm right about things. I get the dms.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Once I put a concept out there, I get.
- 30:24Speaker 3: The DMS whether I'm right or wrong. So I get
- 30:27Speaker 3: the dms that say, hey, look what happened at Resorts World.
- 30:30Speaker 3: They had all this just happened. They had all kinds
- 30:32Speaker 3: of streamers there, and the streamers were streaming, so they're
- 30:36Speaker 3: pumping money into your slot machines. Let's just look at
- 30:38Speaker 3: the mask because you're a mask guy. They're pumping money
- 30:40Speaker 3: into your SLA machine, so you're making money there. They're streaming,
- 30:43Speaker 3: so they're advertising Resorts World, and it's a win win,
- 30:46Speaker 3: which is a cliche, but it's the truth. It's a
- 30:48Speaker 3: win for everybody. I heard that the management Resorts World
- 30:53Speaker 3: went to the streamers and said, you have to have
- 30:55Speaker 3: a thirty thousand dollars a year. THEO here. This was
- 30:57Speaker 3: DM to me and confirmed by two other people. I remember,
- 31:00Speaker 3: you have to have a thirty thousand dollars a year folk,
- 31:01Speaker 3: if you want to come in here.
- 31:02Speaker 2: A stream Are you kidding me?
- 31:05Speaker 3: If I controlled Resorts World, I'd have every streamer, every
- 31:10Speaker 3: slot streamer that I could find. I would be setting
- 31:13Speaker 3: them invitations. I'd be giving them free rooms. If you
- 31:16Speaker 3: go into Resorts World, it's Wednesday, perfect time, It's Wednesday.
- 31:18Speaker 2: What ten o'clock in the morning. If you go into
- 31:20Speaker 2: Resorts World right now, they have thirteen hundred slot sheet.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Now, granted it's Wednesday, it's ten am. It's probably the
- 31:26Speaker 3: absolute slowest time in Las Vegas, you know, during the week.
- 31:29Speaker 3: But don't have seventeen people playing on thirteen hundred machines. Yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 3: it's still not normal. It's still you have seventeen people there.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Why don't you have seventeen people and fifty slot streamers
- 31:42Speaker 3: or want to be slot streamers that you recruited from
- 31:44Speaker 3: all over the world, all over the country wherever, and
- 31:46Speaker 3: put them in there and took it not they also
- 31:49Speaker 3: do things over there, and I get the dms. I've
- 31:52Speaker 3: had direct dms. I'm not gonna exaggerate and tell you
- 31:55Speaker 3: I had this twenty times, but I swear I had
- 31:58Speaker 3: it five times.
- 31:59Speaker 2: I had this DM five times.
- 32:01Speaker 3: My casino host at Resources World told me that I'm
- 32:03Speaker 3: not losing enough money my casino resorts of my casino
- 32:07Speaker 3: host that Resources Wild said.
- 32:09Speaker 2: That they don't want people who are short players.
- 32:12Speaker 3: In other words, you would get a gambler, a degenerate
- 32:16Speaker 3: and maybe one time he comes here and he happens
- 32:18Speaker 3: to hit, and he hits big for an hour or two,
- 32:21Speaker 3: and maybe that one time in his life he says,
- 32:23Speaker 3: you know what, I'm going to hold onto this one
- 32:25Speaker 3: hundred grand. I'm going to enjoy my time at Resorts World.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I'm up one hundred grand. Resorts Wild the sending him DMS,
- 32:32Speaker 3: we don't want you because they did that one time.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Even if you feel that way, even if I.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Feel that way, you can't tell a guest that ever.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And this is the zeitgeist, this is the corporate mentality.
- 32:42Speaker 3: And who's writing Resources World right now? Brian Sandovel, the
- 32:46Speaker 3: ex governor of Nevada.
- 32:49Speaker 2: He's the CEO. So I put it out into the world.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Why is Brian Santava And then the professionals and I'm
- 32:58Speaker 3: not gonna give an names.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Because I don't want to pose anybody.
- 33:01Speaker 3: But a guy who really knows what he's doing in
- 33:03Speaker 3: Las Vegas and deals with says to me, Paul, you're
- 33:06Speaker 3: absolutely right. Brian Sandibal has absolutely no knowledge about gaming,
- 33:09Speaker 3: none whatsoever.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Why is he running the place?
- 33:11Speaker 3: And I'm gonna tell you why he's running the place
- 33:14Speaker 3: because the mindset of the corporate people from Malaysia right.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Think about Malaysia, think about China, think about Japan, think
- 33:21Speaker 3: about the mentality in the in the East.
- 33:24Speaker 2: The corporate mindset.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Is, we've got a problem. We should put someone in
- 33:28Speaker 3: there who's very strong with the government, who has a
- 33:32Speaker 3: strong official title. Someone maybe they're gonna f with a
- 33:35Speaker 3: little less. In other words, instead of the American zeitgeist,
- 33:39Speaker 3: which is rugged individuality, creativity, doing something different, that Eastern
- 33:45Speaker 3: mindset went right back to let's put someone official, someone
- 33:48Speaker 3: of authority, someone who's gonna protect us, into the position
- 33:51Speaker 3: of power. It's exactly the wrong move for that property.
- 33:55Speaker 3: They needed Derek Stevens in there, they needed Jonathan John Avision,
- 33:59Speaker 3: they need the or Tita's in there, they need Michael
- 34:01Speaker 3: going in there, they need Kenny Epstein. In there, I
- 34:04Speaker 3: can tell you the six people, the seven people that
- 34:07Speaker 3: should be running resources world. It's not Brian Sandebar, right,
- 34:10Speaker 3: So they just get it completely backwards. Because and again
- 34:14Speaker 3: as an old man, I know this. This is one
- 34:16Speaker 3: of the biggest pieces of advice I could give to anybody,
- 34:18Speaker 3: especially young people.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Stop looking through your prism.
- 34:23Speaker 3: When you look through your prism, in other words, you
- 34:25Speaker 3: see everything through your lens.
- 34:27Speaker 2: You see nothing.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Yep.
- 34:29Speaker 2: You have to get outside of them. And social media
- 34:31Speaker 2: is great.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Because it teaches me to get outside of the box,
- 34:34Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So I'll put something out
- 34:37Speaker 3: there now. I'm gonna give some some props. I'm gonna
- 34:38Speaker 3: give some credit and give some love to the Fond
- 34:40Speaker 3: of Blue. I'll do a piece and I'll say, wow,
- 34:44Speaker 3: the font of Blue.
- 34:45Speaker 2: And I knew this because of my DMS.
- 34:46Speaker 3: The Fond of Blue is really killing it with comps.
- 34:49Speaker 3: They're doing unbelievable with comps.
- 34:50Speaker 2: They're given everybody comps. Because again I.
- 34:52Speaker 3: See it in my DMS. I do the piece.
- 34:54Speaker 2: While the Fond bu was really they did weren't.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Originally Originally they were tight as f but after a
- 34:59Speaker 3: year of suffering, they got incredible with comps. I go
- 35:02Speaker 3: and I do the piece Fonda blues, and they're the
- 35:05Speaker 3: comments one person if not, I barely have a pulse.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I gamble there twice for four hundred dollars. I got
- 35:11Speaker 2: three free. And the rooms there again more credits to
- 35:14Speaker 2: the fair.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Gorgeous, the finishings on the insert the place is a museum.
- 35:22Speaker 3: On the inside, it is beautiful. But but the Metropolitan
- 35:28Speaker 3: Museum of Art is not conducive to gambling. So even
- 35:33Speaker 3: though it is gorgeous, and even though I give a
- 35:34Speaker 3: lot of credit to the interior or whatever, it's completely
- 35:38Speaker 3: wrong for gamblers. This is a cliche, but it's true.
- 35:42Speaker 3: The high ceiling, no, they did a study of gambling
- 35:47Speaker 3: return on a square foot basis, and the low ceiling
- 35:50Speaker 3: like they have at the wind the low ceiling like
- 35:52Speaker 3: they have in most of the Venetian That creates a
- 35:54Speaker 3: feeling of comfort, a feeling of security, and so people
- 35:58Speaker 3: gamble more.
- 35:59Speaker 2: The h ceiling makes you feel like this is actually
- 36:02Speaker 2: a mistake.
- 36:02Speaker 3: The high ceiling makes you feel exposed, It makes you
- 36:06Speaker 3: feel vulnerable. You want to give gamblers that comfort, so
- 36:10Speaker 3: I will I will blame the chef primarily, and whoever
- 36:13Speaker 3: the architect is and I actually looked it up.
- 36:14Speaker 2: It's a guy from Miami.
- 36:16Speaker 3: You know these Miami guys keep your freight going back
- 36:18Speaker 3: to these Miami doesn't.
- 36:19Speaker 2: It's completely the wrong building.
- 36:21Speaker 5: The ability of your thoughts on the new hard Rock,
- 36:23Speaker 5: what do you think that's gonna shake?
- 36:25Speaker 3: So I waited. I told this story on another podcast
- 36:32Speaker 3: I saw the hard Rock opening. I know who I am,
- 36:35Speaker 3: I know what I do. I'm not saying I waited.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I like to say waiting, but I guess I was waiting.
- 36:40Speaker 3: I waited eighteen months for the hard Rock to contact
- 36:42Speaker 3: me because I said to myself, you know, I'm walking
- 36:46Speaker 3: by here every day. I'm somewhat of a casino critic.
- 36:49Speaker 3: And then the cole came from Joel Loopo.
- 36:51Speaker 2: And again I don't want to say I cried when Joe.
- 36:53Speaker 3: I didn't cry when Joel Loopo called me, but I
- 36:56Speaker 3: definitely willed up with emotion because you have to realize
- 36:58Speaker 3: I've been on the street suffering for years.
- 37:00Speaker 2: See, I've been on the street's fighting with the dinosaur.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I call it the dinosaur. No, we all know who
- 37:04Speaker 2: she is. I've been fighting with her.
- 37:05Speaker 3: She's been telling me no one's ever gonna deal with you.
- 37:08Speaker 2: You're a piece of garbage of this or that.
- 37:10Speaker 3: So when Joe LOOPO called me, it to me, it's
- 37:12Speaker 3: a very it's an honor. Sure's executive.
- 37:15Speaker 6: People don't know started out the star Dust went over, right,
- 37:18Speaker 6: Is that just a little like a sportsbook guy went
- 37:21Speaker 6: to the.
- 37:21Speaker 2: U, regular guy went down to Florida. Now he's running
- 37:26Speaker 2: the Heart. He's the boss of boss.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 37:29Speaker 4: He was very good.
- 37:30Speaker 2: He's been very good to Tonio over the year. Yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 2: it's like it's him. Yeah, this is Joe Joe, this
- 37:37Speaker 2: is Joe Loop. He's here, He's here, He's here, He's here,
- 37:40Speaker 2: he's here, He's And it's funny.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Because I have a little bit of a relationship with
- 37:43Speaker 3: as Rostein's daughter, Stephanie. And Stephanie told me, of course
- 37:47Speaker 3: all I know all about her father from the movie
- 37:48Speaker 3: is I need Joe.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Joe Loop says to me. He's telling me he's graz
- 37:53Speaker 2: I was director of the Star Dust Sports Book.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh my god, like full circle, mom.
- 37:58Speaker 3: So getting back to the hard rock, so calls me,
- 38:01Speaker 3: and I saw the comping at the Mirage before they
- 38:05Speaker 3: closed up. It was off the charts.
- 38:07Speaker 2: They were giving away so many.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Comps at the Mirage before they closed, so many cash offers,
- 38:12Speaker 3: Like I gambled there once they sent me eight thousand
- 38:14Speaker 3: dollars in cash offers, you know, just cash cash.
- 38:18Speaker 2: So when I met with Joe, Joe said to me,
- 38:20Speaker 2: he said, you.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Know, I comped. I comped the Mirage similar to the
- 38:26Speaker 3: way that I would comp Atlantic City.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I overcomeed.
- 38:29Speaker 3: He calls it reinvestment. So when you asked me about
- 38:32Speaker 3: the hard Rock, when you asked me about Las Vegas,
- 38:34Speaker 3: when you asked me up with that property, we asked
- 38:36Speaker 3: me about Joe Lupo, when you asked me about the
- 38:37Speaker 3: Seminole Indian Tron. Yeah, oh my god, they're coming to
- 38:42Speaker 3: Las Vegas. First of all, they have the premier piece
- 38:44Speaker 3: of real estate on the strip. Here's the elbow of
- 38:46Speaker 3: the Las Vegas Strip. Joe took me up in the building.
- 38:49Speaker 2: You know, he took me up.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I did a video.
- 38:50Speaker 2: So he says to me, Paul, we're right on the elbow.
- 38:52Speaker 2: He goes, look that way. I look that way, right
- 38:54Speaker 2: down the strip. I looked this way, right down the strip.
- 38:58Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, Joe, this property actually is
- 39:01Speaker 3: almost over the strip. I said, the vis here you
- 39:03Speaker 3: have twenty or thirty suites on the east side of
- 39:06Speaker 3: the building that are like shopping.
- 39:08Speaker 2: But it was so much more than that.
- 39:10Speaker 3: So he told me that his strategy is to reinvest.
- 39:15Speaker 3: He calls it reinvestment. I'm going to steal his term.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I never heard it before.
- 39:18Speaker 3: He reinvests in the customers, he comps them, He reinvests
- 39:23Speaker 3: in them in order to make them oil customers. So
- 39:26Speaker 3: you have the seminole tribe who doesn't have to borrow
- 39:29Speaker 3: money from anybody, right, he doesn't have to borrow money
- 39:32Speaker 3: on the building. You know valleys. They're borring on the
- 39:34Speaker 3: building in Chicago before it's even built. They're borring on
- 39:37Speaker 3: every single building and a half. They have no money to
- 39:39Speaker 3: build Las Vegas. They're dead broke. I put up their
- 39:41Speaker 3: bonds yesterday. They're paying twenty one of their bonds is
- 39:44Speaker 3: paying a twenty four percent interest rate.
- 39:45Speaker 6: When you have.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Something in the market that's paying twenty four percent, it
- 39:48Speaker 3: might be in trouble, you know what I mean. So
- 39:50Speaker 3: they have no capital constraints. Card Rock, they have Joe Lupo,
- 39:55Speaker 3: they have that beautiful building. They have the premier place
- 39:58Speaker 3: of the premier piece of real stay on ship. If
- 40:02Speaker 3: I was Caesar's, you know, I'd be quaking in my
- 40:05Speaker 3: booth stuff.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd be like, oh, oh my god.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Yeah look what.
- 40:08Speaker 2: They're bill, We're dead. It has to look like God'szillaton.
- 40:12Speaker 5: I think what the original hard rock kid for Vegas
- 40:15Speaker 5: back in what was that ninety five?
- 40:16Speaker 3: The original Office Way batter What that did? Tymeas City.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It's totally straight.
- 40:21Speaker 4: It's gonna it's gonna be a game change.
- 40:23Speaker 2: But I think it's going to really be the nail
- 40:25Speaker 2: on the coffin the game for Caesars. I really didn't
- 40:27Speaker 2: out of Caesar. If you got that, you mean yeah,
- 40:30Speaker 2: all right.
- 40:31Speaker 6: This week's Wager Wires segment, we got to do one
- 40:34Speaker 6: without John Orlando. He talks the whole frigging show. All right,
- 40:37Speaker 6: John Orlando, sorry about that. You're You're out like the
- 40:40Speaker 6: god Father to Tom. You're out, Tom, You're out.
- 40:42Speaker 2: John.
- 40:43Speaker 6: So, uh, this particular bet here one hundred and fifty
- 40:46Speaker 6: bucks to win forty five hundred Patriots Super Bowl future.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Thirty to one.
- 40:53Speaker 6: Current bet value sixteen hundred and thirty two dollars. I
- 40:57Speaker 6: want to tell you they're plus one eighty five now
- 40:59Speaker 6: one eight around there maybe going down to like one
- 41:02Speaker 6: seventy five. I would actually keep this, keep this ticket
- 41:07Speaker 6: if I was you, my friend, the owner of this ticket.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Now if the forty five hundred, if your average bets
- 41:14Speaker 6: one hundred and fifty, I understand why you want to
- 41:17Speaker 6: sell half it is or sell some of this. But
- 41:19Speaker 6: you have such a great bet here for one hundred
- 41:21Speaker 6: and fifty bucks.
- 41:22Speaker 2: I think you go with it.
- 41:23Speaker 3: I really do.
- 41:24Speaker 6: I don't think you take the cash out on this
- 41:26Speaker 6: particular one or cash out on this one. Patriots were
- 41:29Speaker 6: like eighty to one or something at the beginning of
- 41:30Speaker 6: the season, So I still like I like your odds
- 41:34Speaker 6: at thirty to one.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I like your bet. I would keep it. Hopefully you
- 41:38Speaker 2: cash this in.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Anyone can win this game, and everyone I know everyone
- 41:42Speaker 6: loves Seattle. It's all I'm hearing every person Seattle, Seattle's yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I think you have a chance in this one. Of course,
- 41:48Speaker 6: of course you have a chance. So wagerwire dot Com
- 41:51Speaker 6: the wager wire app check them out.
- 41:53Speaker 2: We have two questions from people we want to know.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Garnett Barnsdale says that can we name his favorite restaurant
- 42:00Speaker 2: in town, including steakhouses? Do you have favorites. Well, I
- 42:03Speaker 2: try not to eat.
- 42:03Speaker 3: To be honest with you, but I was blowing you.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Try not to try to eat.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Well, I like it turns out. And this is for
- 42:11Speaker 3: all you eighty and a lot of gym guys know this.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Here's more old man advice. There's tremendous dopamine and fitness.
- 42:19Speaker 3: So if you're a compulsive gambler, if you're an addict,
- 42:23Speaker 3: if you're a drinker, if you're a drug addict, A
- 42:25Speaker 3: lot of people that are in that space, and I
- 42:27Speaker 3: consider myself to be in that space. A lot of
- 42:29Speaker 3: people that are in that space can find incredible relief
- 42:32Speaker 3: from the gym because there's so munch dopamine and working out.
- 42:36Speaker 3: There's I mean, I was at the gym this morning.
- 42:38Speaker 3: When I do two hundred pounds on the pull down,
- 42:41Speaker 3: it's it just feels so good and it gives me
- 42:44Speaker 3: that ruck.
- 42:44Speaker 2: That's why I'm so I'm not on any drugs right now.
- 42:46Speaker 2: I'm on coffee and fitness.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Everybody thinks I'm on drugs, I'll tell you straight out.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I'll take a drug test.
- 42:51Speaker 3: I'm on coffee and fitness.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Sure.
- 42:53Speaker 3: I was just at the gym for a now in
- 42:54Speaker 3: fifteen minutes. I came here feeling good.
- 42:57Speaker 2: So what was the original question?
- 42:58Speaker 4: Just favorite but not I'm not need it.
- 43:01Speaker 2: But I went to bow the other night and I
- 43:02Speaker 2: was blown away. Joint.
- 43:04Speaker 4: That's where I'm doing. I'm doing.
- 43:05Speaker 2: So we're in We're like, oh my god, what is this?
- 43:09Speaker 3: Wow? I just get bringing that.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Yeah, shut up, you believe it's beautiful.
- 43:12Speaker 5: So we're actually inserting this this episode right here into
- 43:15Speaker 5: my twenty four hour I do it every year. We here,
- 43:18Speaker 5: twenty four hours straight podcast, twenty four hours podcast.
- 43:22Speaker 4: I'm doing it inside Boa.
- 43:24Speaker 2: That's just unbelievable.
- 43:25Speaker 4: The next week.
- 43:26Speaker 3: These are the moments. These are the moments from the
- 43:28Speaker 3: universe that tell me I'm in the right place. My
- 43:29Speaker 3: sister says, when that happens, and it happens to me
- 43:32Speaker 3: all the time. Yeah, constantly, you are in the right place.
- 43:35Speaker 3: That's where the universe wants to be.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 43:38Speaker 3: How how did good?
- 43:39Speaker 6: I've seen you at the uh Steve and by the way,
- 43:42Speaker 6: I know, I.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Talked to him.
- 43:43Speaker 4: No, great, this is great.
- 43:45Speaker 6: I seen you at Steve Schiggle, friend of mine, Steve Siles.
- 43:48Speaker 3: He's well, he's the he's the ultimate entrepreneurship yes. I mean,
- 43:52Speaker 3: people don't know this, but I would. I would have
- 43:55Speaker 3: to say that. I don't know anybody you've dropped in town.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Anybody that came to town, got on a plane, it
- 43:59Speaker 3: came to Las Vegas. It is two thousand.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Is there another guy that's done as much as Steve Siegel?
- 44:05Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Has there been you? You guys?
- 44:08Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 44:08Speaker 2: No more local people?
- 44:09Speaker 3: And I know who's done.
- 44:10Speaker 2: No, I don't know.
- 44:11Speaker 3: You're right, the guy, the guys everywhere when he was
- 44:15Speaker 3: what thirty three years old?
- 44:16Speaker 2: I heard he came right, you know, pink pox donut.
- 44:20Speaker 4: So what's the last time you had a donut? Will
- 44:21Speaker 4: you eat a donut? You can do any sugar? Is
- 44:24Speaker 4: there sugar in it?
- 44:25Speaker 3: I'm actually extremely fat right now, if you can believe.
- 44:27Speaker 3: I swear to god. My girlfriend's not happy.
- 44:29Speaker 2: She wants me totally shredded.
- 44:30Speaker 3: But that's that's an I'm sorry.
- 44:31Speaker 2: So I avoid the eating.
- 44:34Speaker 6: But baba, wow, yeah, last one here other than himself,
- 44:38Speaker 6: which Vegas influencers does he recommend for gambling, food, lifestyle accombinations?
- 44:43Speaker 2: Except okay, So it's funny.
- 44:44Speaker 3: It's funny that I'll say this now because he came
- 44:48Speaker 3: he came after me a little bit when I misinterpreted
- 44:50Speaker 3: the roulette at the at the Venietie. I'm gonna get
- 44:53Speaker 3: full disclosure. Yeah, so I start this cursing war with
- 44:56Speaker 3: the guy, you know. And then Jonathan Jostle says to me,
- 45:00Speaker 3: Paul D. John mhaffrey is a nice guy. Oh yeah, Like,
- 45:04Speaker 3: why are you.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Going after him like this?
- 45:06Speaker 3: But he had attacked me for no reason. He said
- 45:08Speaker 3: I was a problematic. He kind of reminded me of
- 45:10Speaker 3: what the dinosaur did to me. He said, he's a
- 45:12Speaker 3: problematic influencer.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Is math is wrong? Let me tell you what I
- 45:15Speaker 2: did with the roulette. I'm gonna tell you what. I'll
- 45:17Speaker 2: admit it. The way the numbers were.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Set up at the roulette made it the equivalent of
- 45:22Speaker 3: four zero roulette. It was a ten percent house edge,
- 45:24Speaker 3: which is four zero roulette, but the colors were still
- 45:27Speaker 3: too zero roulette. So I went in and I said,
- 45:30Speaker 3: oh my god, four zero roulette is here, and McCaffrey
- 45:33Speaker 3: came in on me and said, what are you talking about.
- 45:36Speaker 3: It's not for zero roulette, and then he I was
- 45:39Speaker 3: half right, But what upset me about it was is
- 45:42Speaker 3: the way he didn't engage me in conversation. He just
- 45:44Speaker 3: put it out into the universe that I'm a problem.
- 45:46Speaker 3: So I started a cursing war with him. But to
- 45:48Speaker 3: get back to who you're asking, A guy like McCaffrey,
- 45:51Speaker 3: who stands on facts, who stands on numbers, who stands
- 45:55Speaker 3: on data, That to me, John Anthony Curtis. I don't
- 45:59Speaker 3: know if I don't know if Anthony Curtis is really
- 46:01Speaker 3: an influencer.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he's been on.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Our but my god, I mean you have to respect.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Oh you know what if you said who came here
- 46:07Speaker 3: in the eighties and made something out of nothing? I
- 46:09Speaker 3: would say Anthony Curtison. Maybe he doesn't have the financial
- 46:12Speaker 3: success the same as Steeple, though I don't want to can't.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Count Anthony's money.
- 46:15Speaker 3: But looking at Anthony Curtis in the eighties, the nineties,
- 46:19Speaker 3: and the odds, let's just use those three decades. How
- 46:22Speaker 3: many people do you think came here with a dream
- 46:25Speaker 3: to do something like what Anthony Curtis has created and
- 46:28Speaker 3: didn't make it. So I would say that Anthony Curtis
- 46:31Speaker 3: is one out of us, one out of twenty thousand entrepreneurs.
- 46:35Speaker 3: How many people came here to do he care here's
- 46:37Speaker 3: a gambler. He came, here's a game. He's got a
- 46:39Speaker 3: great publishing company. He's got the newsletter, he's got the podcast,
- 46:43Speaker 3: he's got the information, he's you know, he's very emotionally steady.
- 46:48Speaker 3: He's amazing. So there are some absolutely amazing people down
- 46:51Speaker 3: So I would say Anthony Curtis mahaffrey. Who else stands
- 46:53Speaker 3: on the fact.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Oh that's good, that's great, that's great.
- 46:56Speaker 6: I don't know if you're gonna have any Oh really, yeah.
- 46:58Speaker 2: John mcaffrey's and I've worked for.
- 46:59Speaker 3: A before, and he is you can't question his numbers, numbers,
- 47:03Speaker 3: and he goes around and you know, of his own volition,
- 47:07Speaker 3: he's going to every single establishment, which is tiring and
- 47:10Speaker 3: giving you the rules.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Who else is do it everywhere?
- 47:13Speaker 3: So I think the name of his site is Vegas
- 47:15Speaker 3: Advantage or something like that, right, Vegas Advantage dot com.
- 47:18Speaker 3: If you want to know what blackjack is going on
- 47:20Speaker 3: at Jerry's Nugget, which by the way, is a great
- 47:22Speaker 3: game down there, if you want to know John McCaffrey
- 47:25Speaker 3: and Las Vegas Advisor and Os Vegas Advice is incredible
- 47:29Speaker 3: love and if you are if you are short on.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Money, Las Vegas advisors. No, they're great. They have the
- 47:34Speaker 2: un put together.
- 47:35Speaker 3: You can put together a vacation in Las Vegas based
- 47:37Speaker 3: on Anthony Curtis.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yes, it's Old Vegas. Yes it is. He really goes
- 47:41Speaker 2: and gets it.
- 47:42Speaker 3: A couple couple degenerate questions.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Okay, what's the most you ever want in one session?
- 47:46Speaker 4: What's the most you ever lost in one session?
- 47:48Speaker 3: Okay, So the big story with me is I lost
- 47:49Speaker 3: a million dollars in a week. I got a million dollars.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Look, I never had any expectations for my life.
- 47:56Speaker 3: You know, if you are really in pain and you're
- 47:59Speaker 3: honest with yourself. I can remember being sixteen years old
- 48:02Speaker 3: and I was standing in my backyard at my house
- 48:04Speaker 3: and I said, Wow, you're in big trouble.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Dude.
- 48:07Speaker 3: You know you got this gambling thing. You don't want
- 48:09Speaker 3: to stop gambling at sixteen sixteen, I swear to that, Wow,
- 48:12Speaker 3: you know you're awkward, You're socially awkward.
- 48:16Speaker 2: You're never going to meet any girls. I said that
- 48:18Speaker 2: to myself. I said, oh, you know, who's who's.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Gonna you know? And when you're sixteen, seventeen eighteen, you're
- 48:21Speaker 3: raging with hormones I'm not meeting any girls. I didn't
- 48:23Speaker 3: go to the prom.
- 48:25Speaker 2: I mean, I was just like, geez, I can't. I
- 48:26Speaker 2: can't get anybody.
- 48:28Speaker 5: And back then, gambling wasn't considered cool at all.
- 48:32Speaker 3: It wasn't my circle, was it.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Okay?
- 48:34Speaker 3: So I grew up on the North shoal Long Island
- 48:35Speaker 3: and the kids were super into the gambling. They were
- 48:37Speaker 3: gross too. Yeah, they were great kids. So I was
- 48:40Speaker 3: doing that and I knew I was in trouble. So
- 48:41Speaker 3: I had knew expectations for my life. Yep. So this
- 48:44Speaker 3: to me is all like, wow, I have.
- 48:47Speaker 2: You know, you guys just got to believe nice.
- 48:48Speaker 3: So much gratitude every time I deal with someone, you know,
- 48:52Speaker 3: I mean I have. I mean I had a relationship
- 48:56Speaker 3: with Cliff Atkinson. Of course they let him go from
- 48:58Speaker 3: the Virgin, but he wasn't president of the Virgin. Joel Loopo,
- 49:02Speaker 3: Patrick Nichols, the president of the Venetian. Skylar Dice is
- 49:06Speaker 3: the general manager of the strat. He's amazing idea with him.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Jonathan Jossel. Of course, Cammy, you know, Cammy contacted me.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I'll tell you a funny story about Cammy at the Westgate.
- 49:17Speaker 2: She said, wait, tell me about so you lost a
- 49:19Speaker 2: million in a week. But look of the way I
- 49:21Speaker 2: do that.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Look the way I do that.
- 49:22Speaker 4: You see the way I do that.
- 49:22Speaker 2: You got to keep me on the chair. Look at
- 49:25Speaker 2: this a d HD. Oh, we went up the rails.
- 49:29Speaker 2: We don't know where we went.
- 49:32Speaker 3: I came out here. So what happened was when I
- 49:35Speaker 3: got a million dollars the positive of my checking account
- 49:37Speaker 3: on June thirtieth, nineteen ninety. How did that happen?
- 49:39Speaker 2: Okay?
- 49:40Speaker 3: So, okay, I grew I grew up in a very
- 49:42Speaker 3: privileged area. So I'm a lunatic, but I have great ideas.
- 49:45Speaker 3: I have creative ideas. When you grow up in a
- 49:46Speaker 3: privileged area, what happens.
- 49:48Speaker 2: This is like the biggest gripe that people could could
- 49:50Speaker 2: have if they wanted them.
- 49:52Speaker 3: When you grow up in a privileged area, you are
- 49:54Speaker 3: surrounded by a lot of capital that's chasing ideas. So
- 49:58Speaker 3: I'm twenty four. I have this telecommunications company. It was
- 50:01Speaker 3: a payphone company. I have twenty payphone companies, twenty payphones.
- 50:05Speaker 3: I have twenty payphones. Every week, I'm making one thousand
- 50:07Speaker 3: dollars in quarters. Right. In fact, when I went to
- 50:10Speaker 3: Times Square, I didn't have to change the quarters. I
- 50:12Speaker 3: used to just put the quarters in the slot. I'm
- 50:14Speaker 3: not going to get too into the details on that,
- 50:16Speaker 3: but I'm changing the quarters over. He's laughing because he
- 50:18Speaker 3: knows what I'm talking about. I changed the quarters over
- 50:20Speaker 3: into dollars. The money either goes to Times Square, we
- 50:24Speaker 3: don't need to go any further there, or it goes
- 50:26Speaker 3: to Belmont Racetrack. So every week, one thousand dollars and
- 50:30Speaker 3: one thousand dollars when you're twenty four years old and
- 50:32Speaker 3: it's nineteen eighty seven, twenty three years old, really twenty
- 50:35Speaker 3: three or ninety days, that's a lot of money. But
- 50:37Speaker 3: I'm blowing in every week Times Square.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And Belmont Racetrack.
- 50:41Speaker 3: So I grew up around the corner from a kidnamed Bruce.
- 50:43Speaker 3: He went to Wharton. He's a genius. You know, he
- 50:46Speaker 3: never got less than an A in high school or college.
- 50:48Speaker 3: But we're friends. You know, I'm not saying he took
- 50:50Speaker 3: pity on me. We used to gamble together and we
- 50:52Speaker 3: had a great time. So he's in my world and
- 50:54Speaker 3: he comes to me. I'm twenty three years old, and
- 50:56Speaker 3: he says to me, pol there's not a lot of
- 50:59Speaker 3: opportunities in this world. You know, this is before the computer,
- 51:01Speaker 3: this is before AI, this is a payphone.
- 51:03Speaker 2: You know, there's not a lot of opportunities as world.
- 51:06Speaker 2: I'm going to give you. I'm going to put up
- 51:09Speaker 2: all of my bar miss.
- 51:10Speaker 3: For money, which was twenty five thousand dollars he still has.
- 51:13Speaker 2: He's now remember he's twenty five years old.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Right, this guy still has his bar miss for money
- 51:18Speaker 3: from when he was thirteen years old.
- 51:19Speaker 2: God bless him, right, So he has his barms money.
- 51:22Speaker 3: He puts the whole twenty five thousand dollars into what
- 51:24Speaker 3: we're doing. Our ROI was about sixty six percent. We
- 51:27Speaker 3: got our money back at the year and a half.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Wherever we put a payphone out in New York City
- 51:30Speaker 3: there were sixty thousand payphones out of one. But wherever
- 51:33Speaker 3: we put it out, we got an ROI of sixty
- 51:35Speaker 3: six percent.
- 51:36Speaker 2: So we had our money back in eighteen months. Wow,
- 51:38Speaker 2: we're putting hi out, puttinghim up on while.
- 51:40Speaker 3: The time time goes by when you're an old man
- 51:42Speaker 3: and you look back, my god. So in six years
- 51:44Speaker 3: we went from my twenty phones to seventeen hundred and
- 51:47Speaker 3: forty one phones. I still remember the number A European
- 51:50Speaker 3: company paid US six million dollars, which we split.
- 51:52Speaker 2: I got three million. I was twenty nine. He got
- 51:54Speaker 2: three million.
- 51:55Speaker 3: He still has his. He grew his three into thirty.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I grew my three into like, you know, nothing but trouble.
- 52:01Speaker 3: So we saw it.
- 52:03Speaker 2: We saw it.
- 52:04Speaker 3: We saw that the six million dollars. So I in
- 52:06Speaker 3: October I took a half a million dollar loss on
- 52:08Speaker 3: one trip. I'll never forget that. I was at the Mirage.
- 52:11Speaker 3: I told you the story about splits. So I'm betting
- 52:14Speaker 3: ten thousand dollars a hand in the Mirage high limit pit.
- 52:16Speaker 3: At the time, it was still relatively new because the
- 52:18Speaker 3: Mirage opened on November twenty second, nineteen eighty nine, and
- 52:20Speaker 3: this is October of ninety four, so it's the same
- 52:23Speaker 3: high limit pit. I'm sitting there. I get I think
- 52:26Speaker 3: it was nine. I split them four times. I had
- 52:28Speaker 3: a double twice. I ended up with sixty thousand dollars.
- 52:30Speaker 2: On one hand.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Oh good, the deal of breaks to get one hundred
- 52:34Speaker 3: and twenty thousand dollars. I still lost half a million.
- 52:36Speaker 2: On the trip. And my girlfriend at the time, who.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Was a stripper who I only met because I basically,
- 52:43Speaker 3: you know, I said, please be my girlfriend. If you're
- 52:46Speaker 3: my girlfriend, I'll give you one thousand dollars a week. Please.
- 52:49Speaker 3: I still remember. I still remember. You know, I don't
- 52:52Speaker 3: sugarcoat anything. She was the first girl.
- 52:54Speaker 2: I ever had whose waist was smaller than her hips.
- 52:57Speaker 2: And I was just like, oh my god, oh my god.
- 53:00Speaker 3: You know, I never saw that. I was twenty seven
- 53:02Speaker 3: years old and I never saw an attractive woman in
- 53:03Speaker 3: my life. So I lived with her, and at the time,
- 53:06Speaker 3: I remember, we got the Mirage and she thought, I
- 53:08Speaker 3: want all my money back because she saw me win
- 53:09Speaker 3: that one hundred and twenty thousand dollar hand and she
- 53:12Speaker 3: I never forget. She looked at me, she said, Okay,
- 53:13Speaker 3: we got our money back.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Now we can go home. And I was like, honey, I'm.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Still stuck three hundred thousand. You know, she had no
- 53:20Speaker 3: concept of like. So that was that was October. So
- 53:23Speaker 3: now I gamble all through the winter. So I go
- 53:25Speaker 3: to back to the Mirage again. I go to the
- 53:28Speaker 3: miraj I win two hundred and twenty thousand Maraje and Caesar's.
- 53:32Speaker 3: I go to Caesar's Lake Tahoe when they still took action.
- 53:34Speaker 3: They don't take action up there anymore. It's all by Bally's.
- 53:36Speaker 2: It's a joke. They don't even have table games until
- 53:38Speaker 2: four o'clock. Wow.
- 53:39Speaker 3: I go to Bally's, which is which at the time
- 53:41Speaker 3: was Caesar's Tahoe.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Yep.
- 53:44Speaker 2: I win eighty thousand, and they would take an action.
- 53:46Speaker 3: So now I'm up three hundred. I go to Hawaii
- 53:49Speaker 3: with my girlfriend and my friend who was a troubled person.
- 53:52Speaker 3: You know, I was taking him everywhere. He's very troubled.
- 53:53Speaker 3: He worked for me for a while and he was
- 53:54Speaker 3: in enjoy. He found a crack house in Honolulu.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I was like, dude, I take you.
- 54:00Speaker 3: To Hawaii and you find a crack house in Honolulu whatever,
- 54:03Speaker 3: no names.
- 54:04Speaker 2: We come back to Los Angeles.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Of course, we stayed the Beverly Wilshi because I'd seen
- 54:07Speaker 3: the movie Pretty Woman. I get bored.
- 54:09Speaker 2: After one DASH said let's go back to Vegas. I
- 54:11Speaker 2: come back to Vegas.
- 54:11Speaker 3: I went one hundred. So I won four hundred thousand
- 54:13Speaker 3: dollars in twenty eight days. This was February of ninety five.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Now and now here's your answer after all of that,
- 54:19Speaker 3: and I apologize, No, no, this is great. On April eighteenth,
- 54:22Speaker 3: nineteen ninety five, I came here with five one hundred
- 54:25Speaker 3: thousd I still remember the exact weekend. It's very easy
- 54:28Speaker 3: to do this because unfortunately, on Wednesday, April twentieth, nineteen
- 54:33Speaker 3: ninety five, Terry McVay blew up the Oklahoma City Building.
- 54:38Speaker 3: So I remember that week. That week is in my mind.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I came there that Monday right with my whole family.
- 54:44Speaker 3: I had five one hundred thousand dollar credit lines. One
- 54:46Speaker 3: hundred thousand at Bally's, one hundred thousand at the brawe
- 54:48Speaker 3: hundred thousand at the desert In, one hundred thousand at MGM,
- 54:53Speaker 3: and one other one hundred thousand.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I'd have to think about it, but I had five
- 54:58Speaker 2: of them. I remember I read WIRA maybe back there. Well,
- 55:00Speaker 2: who did I owe? When I was done?
- 55:01Speaker 3: I owed valleys, I owed the desert In, I had them,
- 55:05Speaker 3: owed the mirage the MGM.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I got lucky with timing. They cut me off.
- 55:08Speaker 3: They cut me off because what happens is when you
- 55:09Speaker 3: start taking out a lot of markers.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yep. The MGM said to.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Me, you owe money all over town.
- 55:14Speaker 2: We're not going to give you this marker. What's more,
- 55:16Speaker 2: you kid? You know what I mean?
- 55:17Speaker 3: Right? And then I forget the guy at the desert
- 55:19Speaker 3: and said, you're young, you'll I was twenty nine when
- 55:21Speaker 3: I lost a million. Because you're young, you'll recover. So
- 55:25Speaker 3: I lost a million dollars that week. Five of it
- 55:27Speaker 3: was in markers, five hundred thousand markers and five hundred
- 55:30Speaker 3: thousand in cash.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Wow. It took me eight years to pay off those markers.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Oh wow. And I was dating a girl in the
- 55:35Speaker 3: end of the nineties and every end she was from
- 55:38Speaker 3: the Dominican Republic, so she had no understanding of like
- 55:40Speaker 3: American casinos or American commerce. And she goes in my
- 55:44Speaker 3: check book and she sees this check every month of
- 55:46Speaker 3: fifteen hundred dollars to Parable. Right, this is funny. It's
- 55:50Speaker 3: a funny story. I love this story. I never told
- 55:52Speaker 3: this in social media. I never told this on a podcast,
- 55:54Speaker 3: So something new. So she sees this check for fifteen
- 55:57Speaker 3: hundred dollars to Parable, and she said, and they can go.
- 56:00Speaker 3: She's very, very jealous, and you know, we have sort
- 56:02Speaker 3: of a tumultuous relationship and they never forget it. And
- 56:06Speaker 3: I'm paying off the Powa Bowl. Check is fifteen hundred
- 56:08Speaker 3: dollars every month to Paris Balle's They call it Powabowl Corp.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Because Paris was right next to Bally's and they built
- 56:15Speaker 3: them next to each other. And I'm paying the Power
- 56:17Speaker 3: Bowl Corporation fifteen hundred dollars every month to pay off
- 56:19Speaker 3: one hundred thousand dollar mark And she comes up to me, just.
- 56:23Speaker 2: I want to know who is this parable though that you?
- 56:27Speaker 3: I'm giving fifteen hundred dollars a month to a true.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Story, So help me. God, I love that.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Yeah, this, par I'm like, listen, I got good news
- 56:34Speaker 3: and bad news.
- 56:35Speaker 2: The good news is not cheating on you.
- 56:38Speaker 3: The bad news is I'm a degenerate gambler paying off
- 56:41Speaker 3: five hundred thousand dollars in markers. Wow.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Wow. I didn't say that to her, but I could have.
- 56:45Speaker 2: It would have been funny. Did you wanted to go
- 56:47Speaker 2: back to the president of the person here?
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 56:49Speaker 2: Yeah, key? Why how do you have a good relationship?
- 56:52Speaker 3: Yees? She was fantastic. You know, this is this, this
- 56:54Speaker 3: is a funny story. It's only take this to take
- 56:56Speaker 3: less than a minute. I feel like I'm talking No,
- 56:57Speaker 3: you're good, this is okay. So I'm getting these calls
- 57:00Speaker 3: from somebody said, come to the West Gate. We want
- 57:02Speaker 3: to show you what happened was I have a friend
- 57:04Speaker 3: named Raoul Great. A lot of the contacts that I
- 57:07Speaker 3: have are not necessarily executives, but I get a lot
- 57:10Speaker 3: of super successful people and also high rollers that contact
- 57:14Speaker 3: because they watched the show. So this guy, Raoul is
- 57:17Speaker 3: a great guy, and he lives in Ohio and his
- 57:19Speaker 3: dad is a huge high roller here and everywhere.
- 57:22Speaker 2: So they're in the Elvis suite.
- 57:24Speaker 3: So he contacts me and he says, Pully, I'm in
- 57:27Speaker 3: the suite upstairs. And I got like, oh my god,
- 57:30Speaker 3: look at that, and I do a video. Cammy saw
- 57:32Speaker 3: it and she contacted me and she said, Paul, I
- 57:36Speaker 3: want to tell you that because you were here and
- 57:37Speaker 3: because you felled over the Elvis sweet and in the video,
- 57:40Speaker 3: I said, this is the Elvis Swite. You guys are
- 57:44Speaker 3: the West Gate. You know, you guys are the old International.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Maybe you guys should embrace Elvis. I just walked in here.
- 57:51Speaker 2: There's a brand new Elvis thing in the front. No ego.
- 57:55Speaker 2: But where did that come from? You know what I mean?
- 57:57Speaker 2: So Cammy contacts me and she.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Says, pulled. I want you to know that we redid
- 58:01Speaker 3: the suite.
- 58:02Speaker 2: There's an video of this. You know there's video proof.
- 58:04Speaker 2: I'm no egos video proof.
- 58:06Speaker 3: We redid the suite and we put all Elvis stuff
- 58:09Speaker 3: in there and made it the Elvias sweet because you
- 58:10Speaker 3: said to us, why don't we embrace Elvis?
- 58:13Speaker 2: And now I come here today and I haven't been
- 58:15Speaker 2: here like six months. Elvis here.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 58:18Speaker 2: Wow?
- 58:18Speaker 4: Okay, last question is I know you you have to go.
- 58:21Speaker 2: I want you to do me a favor.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I want you to give me your super Bowl prediction,
- 58:25Speaker 5: But will you end it with your signature tagline after
- 58:29Speaker 5: you give me the prediction?
- 58:31Speaker 3: Oooh okay, uh, I can't help, but I have to
- 58:35Speaker 3: take the four and a half points. I'm just a
- 58:36Speaker 3: dog player from back from wherever. So I'm going with
- 58:40Speaker 3: the underdog Vegas, polly See, it's beautiful
