- 0:00Speaker 1: Coach, the energy out there felt different. What changed for
- 0:03Speaker 1: the team today?
- 0:03Speaker 2: It was the new game day scratches from the California
- 0:06Speaker 2: Lottery players. Everything. Those games sent the team's energy through
- 0:09Speaker 2: the roof.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Are you saying it was the off field play that
- 0:11Speaker 1: made the difference on the field.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, little play makes your day, and today it made
- 0:15Speaker 2: the game.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That's all for now, coach, one more question play than
- 0:19Speaker 1: New Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco forty nine ers and
- 0:22Speaker 1: Los Angeles ram scratchers from the California Lottery. A little
- 0:25Speaker 1: play can make your day. Peace made responsibly. Must be
- 0:28Speaker 1: eighteen years or older to purchase late or claim Oh shy.
- 0:32Speaker 2: What advice would you give for clients if you were
- 0:34Speaker 2: to consult them with this market? The current condition of
- 0:38Speaker 2: this market? Obviously we see interest rates going up, we
- 0:40Speaker 2: see inflation. What type of advice If somebody's coming in,
- 0:42Speaker 2: sitting at that chair, they need advice in their financial life,
- 0:46Speaker 2: what are you telling them?
- 0:47Speaker 3: Appreciate that?
- 0:47Speaker 2: No problem?
- 0:49Speaker 3: I would say this, you know, being on Financial Viz,
- 0:52Speaker 3: I was in the game for twelve years and it
- 0:56Speaker 3: was crazy because I actually started in two thousand and eight.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I started at the beginning of the worst recession since
- 1:02Speaker 3: the Great Depression, and that's how it started, and I
- 1:07Speaker 3: got to like experience that, like that was my entry
- 1:11Speaker 3: into the world of finance. So history always repeats itself
- 1:15Speaker 3: over the course of time. I don't think it's gonna
- 1:17Speaker 3: be as bad as that situation because there was a
- 1:20Speaker 3: lot of factors that go into play. But one thing
- 1:23Speaker 3: that probably won't be on the good side like they
- 1:25Speaker 3: did last time in that situation or in the Corona,
- 1:28Speaker 3: is I don't think they're gonna pump as much money
- 1:30Speaker 3: into the marketplace, so it might be a little bit
- 1:32Speaker 3: more prolonged. Bear markets usually last eight years, I mean
- 1:36Speaker 3: eight months, so you know, it might be shoppy for
- 1:40Speaker 3: a while and painful for a while. And another thing
- 1:44Speaker 3: that when you study history is that you realize that
- 1:48Speaker 3: during bull market runs, the stocks and the classes that
- 1:52Speaker 3: go up the most go down the most in the
- 1:56Speaker 3: next bear market. So that's why I was always saying that,
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, I felt like was over overinflated. I felt
- 2:02Speaker 3: a lot of those tech companies was just you know,
- 2:03Speaker 3: running up too much, and now tech is down the most.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It's no, it's following what history usually predicts. So I
- 2:12Speaker 3: would sell people to be patient to understand it's not
- 2:16Speaker 3: going to be something in my opinion, that you're just
- 2:18Speaker 3: going to catch the bottom tomorrow and then it's just
- 2:20Speaker 3: going to be like, you know, all good again next week,
- 2:23Speaker 3: Like you know, just be patient. It might take a
- 2:26Speaker 3: while for this to actually settle before we actually see
- 2:28Speaker 3: some sunny days, like long term sunny days. It might
- 2:31Speaker 3: be a couple here and there. Put your money in
- 2:36Speaker 3: positions that you think have good long term you know, appreciation.
- 2:41Speaker 3: We talk about that all the time, all of the
- 2:43Speaker 3: stocks that we talk about, all the ETFs that we
- 2:45Speaker 3: talk about, costs, Michael, Microsoft, Apple, the S and P
- 2:50Speaker 3: five hundred XLK xl Y, you know, things of that nature.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Google Amazon, especially after the split. But also you have
- 3:04Speaker 3: to have a strategy in place. So like for me personally,
- 3:08Speaker 3: about a month and a half ago, I told Troy
- 3:10Speaker 3: he didn't agree with what I did at the time.
- 3:11Speaker 3: But almost two months ago, I sold around eighty percent
- 3:14Speaker 3: of of my options, my long term options. I saw
- 3:17Speaker 3: how it was going, and you have to ask yourself,
- 3:21Speaker 3: would I rather Would I rather take one hundred eighty
- 3:25Speaker 3: percent profit or run the risk of losing everything. He's
- 3:30Speaker 3: a decision for me to make exited my my positions.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I didn't exit all of them. I probably should have
- 3:37Speaker 3: exited all of them, to be completely honest with you're
- 3:39Speaker 3: looking at looking back qq Q. But that's a December
- 3:46Speaker 3: twenty twenty three call. I'm in Apple, I'm in an
- 3:50Speaker 3: Apple call, and I'm in a XY call still, but
- 3:57Speaker 3: I sold I sold SMH, I sold AMD, I sold Apple,
- 4:02Speaker 3: I sold Microsoft, and I sold XY. But there was
- 4:09Speaker 3: January twenty twenty three calls too, So you run the
- 4:11Speaker 3: risk of, you know, I have no doubt that all
- 4:14Speaker 3: of those companies are gonna you know, flourish, but you
- 4:16Speaker 3: kind of run the risk that January will be here
- 4:19Speaker 3: before you know it. So you got to kind of
- 4:21Speaker 3: make calculate decisions. But well I will do is wait
- 4:25Speaker 3: for this this thing to really, you know, see how
- 4:28Speaker 3: bad it's going to get. Of course, making long term
- 4:31Speaker 3: most of the money is going to go long term.
- 4:32Speaker 3: But I'm gonna put some some money in some options
- 4:36Speaker 3: on like a slingshot situation from a see twenty four
- 4:41Speaker 3: as far as far out as I can go, as
- 4:44Speaker 3: far out as I can go, depending on how long
- 4:45Speaker 3: this situation lasts. But to answer your question, Ian, I
- 4:51Speaker 3: don't really like to do options on individual stocks too
- 4:54Speaker 3: much unless it's like an Apple Microsoft. I will be
- 4:58Speaker 3: tempted on Google if if they continue to fall, and
- 5:02Speaker 3: maybe Amazon, especially after the split. We have to see
- 5:04Speaker 3: how that situation plays out. But I mean it definitely
- 5:07Speaker 3: like an XL Y or like an XLK. I look
- 5:11Speaker 3: at like the ETF that I'm already invested in and
- 5:13Speaker 3: see which one has the deepest pullback, and yeah, I'll
- 5:19Speaker 3: probably I'll probably put some money into that.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Yeah, if you if you do XL Y, so you're
- 5:28Speaker 4: a lot broke, what what like way take gets to
- 5:30Speaker 4: like one twenty two, like one fifteen. As far as Google,
- 5:36Speaker 4: we have to just for the split. But if it
- 5:38Speaker 4: this sounds to like eighteen hundred, woll fire.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Load the boat.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 3: So yeah, it's opportunities. It's always opportunities in every crisis.
- 5:53Speaker 3: But a this is why it's always good to have
- 5:55Speaker 3: money on the sideline. You know, the dollar is actually
- 5:59Speaker 3: stronger and our relative to other currencies over the world.
- 6:02Speaker 3: That's a good thing, even though inflation is sky high.
- 6:04Speaker 3: But you know, it's nothing wrong with shitting money on
- 6:07Speaker 3: the sidelines and just being patient and just waiting because
- 6:11Speaker 3: there's always opportunities, but you run the risk of losing
- 6:16Speaker 3: a lot of money when you try to buy the
- 6:18Speaker 3: dip and it keeps dipping.
- 6:21Speaker 2: When I dip? You did we dip?
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:24Speaker 4: And can we be honest about the dip? Is not
- 6:26Speaker 4: the strategy. It is a localism to tell people when
- 6:29Speaker 4: you don't want to give a real answer on word
- 6:31Speaker 4: to the best. Yeah, that's all you're like going, Hey,
- 6:36Speaker 4: what's the key to success?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Brother? Just work hard, keep man, God gonna make away? Yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 2: God go make away. I need to plan though, keep
- 6:42Speaker 2: the faith you guys have to learn. This episode is

- 9:44Speaker 2: Every artist that you ever heard a what's the key
- 9:46Speaker 2: to success? Man? Just record you know, network somebody you
- 9:51Speaker 2: hear you. If you're an Idaho, probably not broh oh.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You need a full plan, shout out the fire plan.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And cash is not necessarily trash. It's only trash when
- 10:04Speaker 3: you have no strategy. But cash can be extremely effective
- 10:09Speaker 3: when you have a strategy in place. Put money on
- 10:12Speaker 3: the side lines and then you wait to deploy it.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You don't have to rush. You don't have to rush
- 10:18Speaker 3: into an investment. And to be completely honest with you
- 10:21Speaker 3: about it, if you're playing in this individual stock game,
- 10:25Speaker 3: a lot of people just talk about individual stocks because
- 10:27Speaker 3: they just want to entertain you because there's not really
- 10:30Speaker 3: that many good stocks to invest in, and a lot
- 10:33Speaker 3: of these individual stocks are extremely risky. You don't really
- 10:36Speaker 3: see ETF, a good ETF or a good index from
- 10:39Speaker 3: pulling back like seventy percent, you know, like you see
- 10:43Speaker 3: a lot of stocks pull back seventy eight percent. So
- 10:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest with you. We could talk about
- 10:50Speaker 3: like these individual stocks the stock of the week, and
- 10:53Speaker 3: this stock and this stock that's different.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Media.
- 10:56Speaker 4: That's how y'all blew up your account. I'm okay, let
- 10:58Speaker 4: me get back SA put yes and check. Would you
- 11:04Speaker 4: have lost less money if you would have just invested
- 11:07Speaker 4: in voll VTI, Apple and Microsoft. It almost would take
- 11:13Speaker 4: the act of God. The probability of Apple and Microsoft
- 11:18Speaker 4: falling at the same time, you have a greater likelihood.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And I'm in Los Angeles now, you.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Have a greater probability of California falling off into the ocean. Mathematically,
- 11:28Speaker 4: then Apple and Microsoft falling seventy percent at the same time.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Hope is not a strategy. What is the math? And
- 11:37Speaker 2: if if Apple and Microsoft falls before twenty twenty seven,
- 11:43Speaker 2: that's when you will start to see.
- 11:46Speaker 4: If Tim Cook retires and you start to get some
- 11:49Speaker 4: head ones about China takeing TSM, that's over for America.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I'm just gonna be real with you. Tim Cook is
- 11:55Speaker 4: a lynch pin than's saving America right now. If he retires,
- 11:59Speaker 4: I'm come right on, I don't care. Saturday night, I
- 12:01Speaker 4: was over with let it all go straight.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Cash. Cash is better than negative seventy percent.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That is a fact. That is one hundred factual. And
- 12:14Speaker 3: that's why I say stop listening to everybody telling you
- 12:16Speaker 3: don't keep cash. Nah, you gotta have some a You
- 12:19Speaker 3: got to have cash as a savings account for an
- 12:23Speaker 3: emergency fund. But even bigger than that. Like you said,
- 12:28Speaker 3: the only thing I'm nervous about my portfolio is options.
- 12:31Speaker 3: My long term is not really not really nervous about
- 12:33Speaker 3: long term smooth because eventually it's going to come back.
- 12:37Speaker 3: But a lot of people had one hundred percent of
- 12:39Speaker 3: their portfolio on options. That's dangerous.
- 12:43Speaker 4: You never want to put all your eggs in one
- 12:46Speaker 4: basket unless you like gambling and you want.
- 12:50Speaker 2: A heart attack.
- 12:52Speaker 4: That's how I keep telling you to tech and if
- 12:55Speaker 4: I can, A lot of people chase that high of
- 13:00Speaker 4: those wins. I mean, my guy, I was talking about
- 13:02Speaker 4: it earlier. When you guys like I want to be
- 13:04Speaker 4: an entrepreneur, I'm.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Like, no, you don't.
- 13:08Speaker 4: You're like, why you be so aggy? Sixteen hours a
- 13:11Speaker 4: day to do it? Trust me, four years, right, So
- 13:17Speaker 4: you may not have success in your business for six years.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Imagine working six days a week for six years and
- 13:22Speaker 4: everyone's telling you crazy and it doesn't work and you're
- 13:24Speaker 4: not making money. A lot of people wanted those how
- 13:27Speaker 4: flying wins, from futures options to rivetals because they didn't
- 13:30Speaker 4: want the sacrifice of putting it in the business and work.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Whatever endeavor you are a part of, you're going to
- 13:36Speaker 4: have to learn a master that you're gonna get your
- 13:37Speaker 4: ass kicked anyway. Safety is key, and if you right now,
- 13:42Speaker 4: some of you, if you would have just invested, even
- 13:45Speaker 4: on the option side, just an Apple and Microsoft, you'd
- 13:48Speaker 4: be up. You would have had family and friends who
- 13:49Speaker 4: would end up giving you too three hundred four hundred,
- 13:51Speaker 4: five hundred thousand.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So a lot of people quiet now, and.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I get it, but use this these losses' motivation to
- 13:58Speaker 4: never make these mistakes again and study your ass off.
- 14:01Speaker 2: But literally, there isn't one company that is available to
- 14:06Speaker 2: the public or that is known that can give twenty
- 14:09Speaker 2: percent return per year for ten years, trillion dollar opportunity.
- 14:14Speaker 4: All this technology everybody know our side, Sylcastics and fives
- 14:18Speaker 4: and all that shit can't produce twenty percent. Most business
- 14:22Speaker 4: owners like, are you crazy. It's a bad year for
- 14:25Speaker 4: a normal business.
- 14:27Speaker 2: It's important lesson too, like you said, so, like we
- 14:30Speaker 2: I spoke about this Saturday, and it was like the
- 14:31Speaker 2: biggest lesson is that I have to see the losses early, right,
- 14:34Speaker 2: so I know not to make the mistakes. And so
- 14:36Speaker 2: some people are in that space right now, like they
- 14:38Speaker 2: started investing. Like we said that influx of investors, especially
- 14:41Speaker 2: African Americans that came into space in twenty twenty and
- 14:44Speaker 2: twenty twenty one. This is their time. But that cash
- 14:47Speaker 2: on the side is so vialdly important because the other
- 14:50Speaker 2: part of hey having those losses early is also saying, man,
- 14:54Speaker 2: if I have more capital to deploy when the market
- 14:57Speaker 2: was down, I'd be so much further ahead. And so
- 15:00Speaker 2: it's cool to say like, yeah, I have money on
- 15:02Speaker 2: the side, but actually having that plan and having the
- 15:06Speaker 2: actual companies that you want to invest in and saying,
- 15:08Speaker 2: all right, now I have the capital of deploy because
- 15:10Speaker 2: it's nothing like when you have like one thousand dollars
- 15:13Speaker 2: to invest in a company, right, and you say it
- 15:15Speaker 2: old time men. When you invest the little, the least amount,
- 15:19Speaker 2: that stock always shoots up to a fifty two weeks
- 15:22Speaker 2: high all time high. Right. And then when you finally
- 15:25Speaker 2: get the capitol and you put ten thousand in right here,
- 15:28Speaker 2: we go twenty percent pullback. So it's part of it.
- 15:32Speaker 3: It's going to get worse before it gets better. My
- 15:36Speaker 3: graduates from my school being forced back drop bag drop Mike,
- 15:42Speaker 3: drop back.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Drop b drop.
