- 0:00Speaker 1: Granny Squid. We were talking about the Eurovision and the
- 0:07Speaker 1: sauna and it made me want a sauna. And I've
- 0:11Speaker 1: thought about and if anybody has any experience with this,
- 0:15Speaker 1: just you know, email, email or text having a home sauna.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I've thought about it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: You can you do you have to have them inside
- 0:27Speaker 1: or can you put them outside? And and are they
- 0:29Speaker 1: really really expensive?
- 0:31Speaker 3: And those are the ones where it's just the enclosed
- 0:33Speaker 3: room with what normally would and like a glass pane.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and uh, I mean no they stay
- 0:41Speaker 1: solos not at that hot top factory outlet or do they?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I sat in one when I was down there
- 0:49Speaker 2: doing it.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It's like a kit you can put together yourself or
- 0:51Speaker 1: do they come and install.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It or either?
- 0:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Now there there is a place, and I'm curious about
- 0:58Speaker 1: this place too. There's a place downtown Salt Lake, very
- 1:01Speaker 1: close to here as a matter of fact, called hot
- 1:03Speaker 1: House and you can they have private infrared saunas, showers,
- 1:10Speaker 1: steam rooms. Bathing suits are optional in your private sanctuary room.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Bathing suits are required to use the outdoor cold plunge
- 1:18Speaker 1: if you want to do that, and there's an outdoor
- 1:21Speaker 1: hot tub as well. But it's a facility right just
- 1:24Speaker 1: down the street from us. You can pay seventy bucks
- 1:27Speaker 1: and go have a ninety minute experience.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Well, if it's right just down the street from us.
- 1:32Speaker 5: There are kits to do indoor or outdoor, indoor or outdoor,
- 1:36Speaker 5: depending on where.
- 1:36Speaker 2: You want it, and they're about five grand. But like
- 1:42Speaker 2: I said, the people at.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Hot Top Factory Outlet would be able to maybe cut
- 1:45Speaker 5: you a deal or something.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You know, if I had one at home, I bet
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'd use it all at least every other day.
- 1:53Speaker 4: You think, yeah, I would.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I used to love the old Deseret Gym because in
- 2:00Speaker 1: the in the men's locker room they had a steam
- 2:04Speaker 1: room and a sauna and a hot tub pool kind
- 2:10Speaker 1: of a whirlpool. Yeah, and it was so it was
- 2:12Speaker 1: men only, and I assume the women had something similar.
- 2:16Speaker 2: In their locker room.
- 2:17Speaker 1: But but you could just do it and you didn't
- 2:19Speaker 1: have to wear a bathing suit if you didn't want to.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But a lot of guys I did not usually wear
- 2:25Speaker 1: a bathing suit.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Uh huh.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Well, and see, if you had your own in your house,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you wouldn't. You wouldn't need to say.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Because it looks like they sit they fit one these
- 2:35Speaker 5: indoor ones here. Uh, you also get them at Costco apparently.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Really.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh, I was looking at a website that sells
- 2:42Speaker 1: them here at someplace in in our area, and it
- 2:45Speaker 1: says you can get one or two person ones.
- 2:47Speaker 2: This one's a three person for five grand.
- 2:49Speaker 5: But you know, if it's in your house, you could
- 2:52Speaker 5: just forbid everyone from using it except for you.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's uh, I think it's. I wonder if
- 2:58Speaker 1: how expensive they are to operate though?
- 3:00Speaker 4: H Can you turn them off or is it one
- 3:02Speaker 4: of those things has to go to no degree?
- 3:05Speaker 1: No, you can turn them off. Okay, you know I'm
- 3:08Speaker 1: gonna go. I'm gonna go heat up the sauna and
- 3:10Speaker 1: you turn it on.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Sure, Yeah, I can. I talked about it off air
- 3:13Speaker 3: with you guys yesterday. I'd love to get one of
- 3:15Speaker 3: those and put it in my apartment complex.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'd like to have one the kind though, the two
- 3:19Speaker 1: that have the there are rocks there, hot rocks, and
- 3:23Speaker 1: you can put that's so you get you get the
- 3:26Speaker 1: sauna and you sauna for So. When I first started
- 3:28Speaker 1: going to the Desert Gym years and years ago, the
- 3:30Speaker 1: old guys who were there, they'd say, here's what you
- 3:32Speaker 1: do you go into the sauna because they were two
- 3:35Speaker 1: separate rooms, sauna and steam room.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You break a really good sweat and then go in
- 3:40Speaker 2: the steam room.
- 3:40Speaker 3: You go, you go where it's dry, and then you
- 3:42Speaker 3: go where there's the water. Yeah, I read expert advice.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I really enjoyed that. It was very relaxing and and
- 3:50Speaker 1: you felt like you felt cleaner somehow.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Of course.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but they were offering that advice like it was
- 3:55Speaker 3: insider information about this.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, listen there at the desert gym. I went to
- 4:02Speaker 1: the used to go to the one in Ogden, and
- 4:03Speaker 1: then with a big one here in Salt Lake. And
- 4:06Speaker 1: the average age of the people who were there were,
- 4:08Speaker 1: you know, around seventy five or sure. Lots. I mean
- 4:12Speaker 1: there were younger people there too, but there are lots
- 4:14Speaker 1: of old guys who had nothing else to do.
- 4:17Speaker 3: You know, except to take people walking by, put put
- 4:21Speaker 3: their hand nakedly on their shoulder and be like, hey, buddy,
- 4:23Speaker 3: I got some good for you.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Yeah. No, no, no, no no no no.
- 4:26Speaker 3: See you like where it's dry, and then and then
- 4:29Speaker 3: let me tell you what's it's too dry?
- 4:31Speaker 2: You go where the water is.
- 4:33Speaker 1: They were They were very They were usually very nice
- 4:35Speaker 1: I believe they were nice and lonely.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
