  have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.

  For too long, faulty, inadequate or weaponized intelligence have
• 0:26
  led to lot costly failures and the undermining of our national
• 0:30
  security and God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution.

  The most obvious example of one of these failures is our
• 0:38
  invasion of Iraq based upon a total fabrication or complete
• 0:41
  failure of intelligence. This disastrous decision led to
• 0:46
  the deaths of 10s of thousands of American soldiers, millions
• 0:50
  of people in the Middle East, mass migration, destabilization,
• 0:54
  undermining of the security and stability of our European
• 0:56
  allies, the rise of ISIS, strengthening of Al Qaeda and
• 1:01
  other Islamist jihadist groups, and strengthening Iran.

  Here are just a few other examples.

  The American people elected Donald Trump as their president
• 1:11
  not once but twice, and yet the FBI and intelligence agencies
• 1:15
  were politicized by his opponents to undermine his
• 1:17
  presidency and falsely portray him as a puppet of Putin.
• 1:22
  Title 1 of FISA was used illegally to obtain a warrant to
• 1:26
  spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page using a Clinton
• 1:29
  campaign funded false dossier as their so-called evidence.
• 1:34
  Biden campaign advisor Tony Blinken was the impetus for the
• 1:38
  51 former senior intelligence officials letter dismissing
• 1:42
  Hunter Biden's laptop as disinformation specifically to
• 1:45
  help Biden win the election. Former DNI James Clapper lied to
• 1:51
  this committee in 2013, denying the existence of programs that
• 1:55
  facilitated the mass collection of millions of Americans phone
• 1:58
  and Internet records, yet was never held accountable.

  Under John Brennan's leadership, the CIA abused its power to spy
• 2:06
  on Congress, to dodge oversight, lied about doing it until he was
• 2:10
  caught, and yet has never been held responsible.

  Under Biden, the FBI abused its power for political reasons to
• 2:17
  try to surveil Catholics to attend Traditional Latin Mass,
• 2:21
  labeling them as quote, UN quote, radical traditionalist
• 2:24
  Catholics. Personally, just 24 hours after
• 2:28
  I criticized Kamala Harris and her nomination, I was placed on
• 2:32
  a secret domestic terror watch list called Quiet Skies.

  Sadly, there are more examples. The bottom line is this, This
• 2:40
  must end. President Trump's re election is
• 2:43
  a clear mandate from the American people to break the
• 2:45
  cycle of failure and the weaponization and politicization
• 2:49
  of the intelligence community and begin to restore trust in
• 2:53
  those who've been charged with the critical task of securing
• 2:56
  our nation. If confirmed as DNI, I will do
• 3:00
  my very best to fulfill this mandate and bring leadership to
• 3:04
  the intelligence community with a laser like focus on our
• 3:08
  essential mission, ensuring the safety, security and freedom of
• 3:12
  the American people. As the President's Principal
• 3:16
  Intelligence Advisor, I'll begin by leading by example, checking
• 3:20
  my own personal views at the door, and committing to
• 3:23
  delivering intelligence that is collected, analyzed, and
• 3:26
  reported without bias, prejudice, or political
• 3:30
  influence. I enlisted in the Army because
• 3:33
  of the horrific terrorist attack on September 11th and
• 3:37
  volunteered to deploy to Iraq in 2005, where I served in a
• 3:40
  medical unit. After nearly 22 years in uniform
• 3:45
  with three combat deployments to the Middle East and Africa, I'm
• 3:48
  now a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve, where I serve
• 3:51
  as a battalion commander of soldiers in Oklahoma, Missouri,
• 3:55
  and Arkansas. I served in Congress for eight
• 3:58
  years on the Homeland Security, Foreign Affairs and Armed
• 4:00
  Services Committees, and it's my experience in the military and
• 4:04
  in the halls of Congress that have given me a deep
• 4:07
  understanding of the complex challenges that our nation faces
• 4:11
  in both roles, engaging with world leaders in both roles,
• 4:15
  being Privy to highly classified intelligence.

  So I know first hand how essential, accurate, unbiased
• 4:22
  and timely intelligence is to the President, to Congress, and
• 4:27
  to our war fighters. I also know the heavy cost of
• 4:30
  intelligence failures and abuses.

  Senator Collins, you led the creation of ODNI specifically to
• 4:38
  address those intelligence failures of 9/11 and Iraq,
• 4:41
  so-called WM DS. The need for the ODNI under
• 4:46
  strong leadership still exists today.

  If confirmed, I'll bring my experience and fresh eyes to
• 4:52
  leading the Intelligence Community and my day one
• 4:55
  priorities will be to assess the global threat environment,
• 5:00
  identify where gaps in our intelligence exist, integrate
• 5:04
  intelligence elements, increase information sharing and ensure
• 5:07
  that unbiased, apolitical objective collection and
• 5:10
  analysis to support the President and policy makers
• 5:13
  decision making occur. I'll work to end the
• 5:16
  politicization of the Intelligence Community and
• 5:19
  ensure there is a clear mission focus in the IC on its core
• 5:23
  mission of this unbiased, apolitical collection and
• 5:27
  analysis of intelligence to secure our nation.

  I'll work to rebuild trust through transparency and
• 5:33
  accountability. This is a national security
• 5:36
  imperative and I'll work to assess and address efficiencies,
• 5:40
  redundancies, and effectiveness across ODNI to ensure focus of
• 5:45
  personnel and resources is on our core mission of national
• 5:49
  security. In my meetings that I've had

  with many of you, you expressed bipartisan frustration about
• 5:56
  recent intelligence failures as well as the lack of
• 5:58
  responsiveness to your requests for information.

  Whether it's the surprise October 7th Hamas terrorist
• 6:04
  attack, to the sudden takeover of Syria by Islamist extremists,
• 6:09
  failures to identify the source of COVID, anomalous health
• 6:13
  incidents, UA PS drones, and more.
• 6:16
  If confirmed, I look forward to working with you to address
• 6:19
  these issues. Ensuring the safety, security,
• 6:25
  and freedom of the American people is a mandate of
• 6:28
  leadership that rises above partisan politics.

  truth no matter where it leads, and share that truth with

  warn the American people who are watching at home.

  You may hear lies and smears in this hearing that will challenge

  my loyalty to and my love for our country.

  Those who oppose my nomination imply that I am loyal to
• 7:11
  something or someone other than God, my own conscience, and the
• 7:17
  Constitution of the United States, accusing me of being
• 7:21
  Trump's puppet, Putin's puppet, Assad's puppet, a guru's puppet,
• 7:25
  Modi's puppet. Not recognizing the absurdity of
• 7:29
  simultaneously being the puppet of five different puppet
• 7:33
  masters. The same tactic was used against
• 7:37
  President Trump and failed. The American people elected
• 7:41
  President Trump with a decisive victory and mandate for change.

  The fact is, what truly unsettles my political opponents
• 7:49
  is I refuse to be their puppet. I have no love for Assad or
• 7:55
  Gaddafi or any dictator. I just hate Al Qaeda.

  I hate that we have leaders who cozy up to Islamist extremists,

  minimizing them to so-called rebels.

  As Jake Sullivan said to Hillary Clinton, quote, al Qaeda is on
• 8:11
  our side in Syria. Well, Syria is now controlled by
• 8:15
  an Al Qaeda offshoot, HTS, led by an Islamist jihadist who
• 8:19
  danced in the streets on 9/11 and who is responsible for the
• 8:24
  killing of many American service members.

  Democrat Senators in the past resorted to anti Christian
• 8:31
  bigotry against some of President Trump's judicial
• 8:34
  nominees like Amy Coney Barrett and Brian Boucher.
• 8:38
  I condemn those actions as a Democrat in Congress at the
• 8:41
  time, as religious bigotry must be thoroughly condemned by all
• 8:45
  of us, no matter the religion. Unfortunately, there are some
• 8:50
  Democrat Senators who still don't understand the principle
• 8:52
  of freedom of religion and Article 6 of the Constitution.

  Quote. No religious test shall ever be
• 8:59
  required as a qualification to any office or public trust under
• 9:03
  the United States. Unfortunately, they're once
• 9:06
  again using the religious bigotry card, but this time
• 9:09
  trying to foment religious bigotry against Hindus and
• 9:13
  Hinduism. If anyone is sincerely
