- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: And now here's Nat with a hit of celeb news.
- 0:04Speaker 2: What do you got?
- 0:05Speaker 3: So it's been almost a month to the day since
- 0:07Speaker 3: Hayden Panettiere sadly passed away at 36 years old. So
- 0:11Speaker 3: you may remember her from shows like Heroes and Nashville,
- 0:15Speaker 3: the Scream franchise, Bring It On 2.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It was huge when she passed. And now we know
- 0:20Speaker 1: a little bit more about her death.
- 0:21Speaker 3: We already knew she was with her on-again, off-again boyfriend,
- 0:24Speaker 3: Brian Hickerson, at the time.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We knew he was bad news as well.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Because she actually had gotten an AVO out against him
- 0:31Speaker 3: and had DV with him. And he actually went to
- 0:33Speaker 3: prison for DV against her back in 2021. It lasted
- 0:37Speaker 3: 45 days. But they were that couple that just kept
- 0:40Speaker 3: getting back together for some reason. Obviously, Hayden had a
- 0:42Speaker 3: lot of stuff going on. Over this past weekend, actually,
- 0:45Speaker 3: he's gotten himself into more trouble because he was handcuffed
- 0:48Speaker 3: by police and had a bar fight in South Carolina.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Apparently he was shouting details, or not details, but he
- 0:54Speaker 3: was shouting about Hayden's death while all of the, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 3: bar scuffle and ordeals was happening. I think he came
- 1:00Speaker 3: out and said, you know, people keep harassing me about it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: And I think people, because it looks bad, right, that
- 1:05Speaker 3: he was with her the day that she was murdered.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Some people have a theory he, there was some, you know,
- 1:10Speaker 3: Foul play.
- 1:11Speaker 2: The estranged mother thought that?
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yes, the estranged mother basically came out and said it
- 1:15Speaker 3: outright that he's responsible. But now we've got some new
- 1:20Speaker 3: reports that have come out overnight revealing that Hayden took
- 1:23Speaker 3: a pill that was allegedly laced with fentanyl on the
- 1:25Speaker 3: day that she died. Now, for those who don't know,
- 1:28Speaker 3: fent is so, so powerful, about 50 times stronger than heroin.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So like just a few grains of fentanyl can kill you. Yes.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It's been a big problem in America. She's got a
- 1:38Speaker 2: big fentanyl crisis.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And who knows how much was in the pill that
- 1:41Speaker 1: she took.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Apparently she was buying prescription drugs like oxycodone and stuff
- 1:47Speaker 3: off the black market as well. So this was unregulated,
- 1:50Speaker 3: obviously dodgy things that she could get her hands on.
- 1:52Speaker 3: So now police are trying to trace that pill back
- 1:55Speaker 3: to the person who sold it to her. Because as
- 1:57Speaker 3: you know from Matthew Perry's death and things like that,
- 1:59Speaker 3: these drug dealers can be done.
- 2:01Speaker 1: What do they call it?
- 2:01Speaker 3: The ketamine queen in Matthew Perry's case. These drug dealers
- 2:04Speaker 3: can be done for manslaughter.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're selling a product.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I don't know which charge it is, but yeah, they
- 2:09Speaker 1: can be held responsible. Yeah, think of manslaughter.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes sense if you're selling someone something.
- 2:15Speaker 1: That can kill them. Yeah, you're responsible for it, for sure.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That fentanyl stuff though, like I heard someone took it
- 2:19Speaker 2: in hospital, which is.
- 2:19Speaker 3: What you mentioned.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I've had a girlfriend who has taken it in hospital.
- 2:22Speaker 1: She said she.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 1: She said it was the best high of her life,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but it was.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Obviously micro-dosed and done under the duty of care of
- 2:33Speaker 3: proper medical professionals. There would be such a small amount
- 2:36Speaker 3: of fentanyl in whatever she took.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I don't understand why people would be lacing it in stuff.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Or buying it off the black market.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I think it's cheap, which is why there's a huge
- 2:46Speaker 3: problem with it over in America.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Cheap and it doesn't require much. But it's also like.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I mean, we're not drug addicts. So we look at
- 2:54Speaker 3: it and go, why would you take that risk? Whereas
- 2:57Speaker 3: they do anything to get their heart.
- 2:59Speaker 2: If she was taking another pill, right, and it was
- 3:01Speaker 2: in there, you wouldn't even know. But yeah, big problem
- 3:05Speaker 2: in America. They walk around like zombies and stuff.
- 3:08Speaker 1: They fall asleep fully folded over. It's crazy.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Like, some of the videos I've seen is, like, it
- 3:14Speaker 3: looks like we're in a zombie apocalypse.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, they literally look like zombies.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Terrible. I'm glad it hasn't really reached here. I'm sure
- 3:19Speaker 2: there's fentanyl around, but it's not like it is there.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It's not like it is. It's rife in, like, San Francisco.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I think, is particularly bad.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, LA, yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 3: All right, and Miley Cyrus, who's now just going by Miley,
- 3:29Speaker 3: by the way. She's dropped her last name for this
- 3:31Speaker 3: latest era.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. She's had a number of eras throughout
- 3:33Speaker 1: her career.
- 3:33Speaker 3: So she obviously started in the industry from a really
- 3:35Speaker 3: young age on Hannah Montana.
- 3:37Speaker 1: She was a Disney star.
- 3:38Speaker 3: And then once she broke away from that, she had
- 3:41Speaker 3: that era of the swinging around nude on the wrecking ball.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And she did that performance with Robin Thicke where she
- 3:46Speaker 3: was bent over with her tongue out. That was her
- 3:49Speaker 3: rebel era. And now she's up to her 10th studio
- 3:52Speaker 3: album called Bass Persuades. It's coming out September 18th. And
- 3:55Speaker 3: she said there's really one thing that's important to her
- 3:57Speaker 3: now in this era of her career.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 4:00Speaker 4: The most important thing for me is to walk into
- 4:03Speaker 4: a room and feel respected. I didn't always have that.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I've doubled down on being me just enough that now
- 4:11Speaker 4: I think you can respect what I'm doing because when
- 4:14Speaker 4: you change as much as I do, it's actually kind
- 4:18Speaker 4: of consistent. And now I think that that carries a
- 4:21Speaker 4: level of confidence and bravery and that led to respect.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I think what's interesting about Miley is no one tries
- 4:27Speaker 3: to claim her as a nepo baby and she is.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Which is good because I think her talent stands on
- 4:31Speaker 3: its own. Of course she got a big break in
- 4:33Speaker 3: Hannah Montana because her dad was Billy Ray.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 3: But she actually got cast as Hannah Montana and then
- 4:38Speaker 3: they ended up putting her dad in because they were like, oh,
- 4:40Speaker 3: it's Billy Ray, we may as well chuck him in.
- 4:42Speaker 1: But, of course, her foot was in the door because
- 4:44Speaker 1: of him. Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 3: But since then I think she's proven herself so much
- 4:47Speaker 3: as an artist that no one says Miley the Nepo Baby.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Oh, 100%. I mean, she is a Nepo Baby but
- 4:52Speaker 2: she's done well.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And she's worked since she was a child. child, right? Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 1: she's my age. She'd be, yeah, 33. And since leaving Disney,
- 5:01Speaker 1: she's proven herself.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, she had some eras and some of
- 5:04Speaker 3: the songs were a bit whack and some of the
- 5:05Speaker 3: things she did. But, like, for example, that era where
- 5:08Speaker 3: she was, like, on stage in the bright, colourful outfits
- 5:10Speaker 3: with the shaved head and the little, you know, waving
- 5:13Speaker 3: her bum around and stuff, I don't think anyone really
- 5:15Speaker 3: holds that against her.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Like, I don't know anyone that goes, oh, Miley, with
- 5:18Speaker 1: that whack. Like, we kind of were just like, ah, yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 1: fair enough.
- 5:20Speaker 2: She didn't go off the rails like Britney, for example, right?
- 5:23Speaker 1: No, she just had a little bit of a ganger era.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Who doesn't?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Who doesn't have a little ganger era?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Did you?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's a rite of passage.
- 5:31Speaker 2: You had a ganger era?
- 5:33Speaker 1: I had a wild era. Not so much a ganger,
- 5:35Speaker 1: but a very wild era. My 20s was... You just.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Have to have a period of time where you're like,
- 5:42Speaker 3: no one can tell me what to do and I'm
- 5:43Speaker 3: doing what I want.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Whether or not there's some ganger-ing. Ganger-ing. Ganger-ing. Wow.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And what age is that, do you think? Is it
- 5:52Speaker 2: like an early 20s?
- 5:52Speaker 3: I think you finish school, you're an adult, you have
- 5:55Speaker 3: your own money and you don't have to listen to
- 5:57Speaker 3: your parents anymore.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 3: That is when you're like, hang on a second, I
- 6:00Speaker 3: can do whatever I want. I'm free. And some people
- 6:03Speaker 3: don't know when to stop. And that's when it goes
- 6:05Speaker 3: too far. Most of us can do it and then
- 6:07Speaker 3: rein it back in and then move on with our lives.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Cool.
- 6:10Speaker 2: All right. Well, happy gang at year one.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Boys have their rebellious years in teenagehood, I feel, because
- 6:15Speaker 3: they're not as so tightly, they don't.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Have the reins on them so tight. Yeah, like 14, 15. Exactly.
- 6:21Speaker 1: That's when you would have tried smoking and done all
- 6:23Speaker 1: those kind of things.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Wasn't my gang at year one.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Because no girl was interested. The truth hurts.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Um, last calls.
