- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with I Heart Radio. Hey,
- 0:05Speaker 1: miss suttern name, that was a little delayed. Yes, my love,
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm still getting over my coughing fit from laughing too
- 0:18Speaker 1: hard about it, That's what she said comment. So yeah, hey, yes,
- 0:22Speaker 1: well you know, we'll say that one. We'll bring that
- 0:24Speaker 1: out later. We were talking about the microphone bulges that
- 0:28Speaker 1: we both you know, moderate the bulge, so to speak.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But anyway, just you know, we're here almost famous the
- 0:37Speaker 1: ogs and I am fresh off the bus. The bus.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I just got back from Florida, which I needed it. Man,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm living in the Midwest. I needed a break. I
- 0:48Speaker 1: hear you. I just got back from Mexico and then
- 0:50Speaker 1: Miami right before that, so I I hear your pain.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We had a blizzard. I had the drive I had
- 0:57Speaker 1: to drive through on the way. It took some people
- 0:59Speaker 1: were usually takes two hours to get to Denver. It
- 1:02Speaker 1: took them seven hours. Oh um, Jesus, Yeah, that's not fun. Yeah,
- 1:08Speaker 1: we're Jesus. There's some weather going on. Guys, there's some
- 1:12Speaker 1: weather going on about that. But yeah, we are. I'm excited.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We had we had the other half of the Jason Mesnick.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So now we get to talk to the Jason Mesnick. Yes,
- 1:30Speaker 1: the man, the myth, the stars, the man, the myth,
- 1:37Speaker 1: the realtor, the lumberjack, the mountain man. Jason. Yeah, Messi Mesnick.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We call him the mess. He's actually putting in submitting
- 1:45Speaker 1: an offer right as we speak. So we're watching it. Watch.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We're gonna send some positive vibes that the offer comes through.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Book at Dan, Oh, I want you to close on
- 1:58Speaker 1: this house, whatever it is. Jan out, because let's just
- 2:03Speaker 1: call him Dano, Dan Dano, the Dano family, the Dano family.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So how are you, buddy? Good to have you on.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's good to be Wait was so was molly on? Recently?
- 2:12Speaker 1: She didn't tell me? Wait did we not have Molly On?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Am I making that up? Did I have my podcast?
- 2:17Speaker 1: I think you had her on yours. I'm not sure. Oh,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I am so old that I don't even remember who
- 2:25Speaker 1: I've had. I am. I am the old gal, the
- 2:28Speaker 1: og old gal who doesn't you're the fairy godmother of
- 2:33Speaker 1: the bach Serettes. And I am the grandfather of the Bachelor. Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: with a really old brain. Obviously. Between in between all
- 2:41Speaker 1: that stuff, there was a time when I was still
- 2:43Speaker 1: in my thirties a long time ago, that the young
- 2:47Speaker 1: boys used to call me the godfather the young boys.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They had not met you yet. I remember you telling
- 2:53Speaker 1: me that when we first met Jason, and you know,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'll be honestly, buddy, I miss it out there. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: missed the PNW, I missed handing. I'm miss being out
- 3:00Speaker 1: there and crossing paths every now and then as we did.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And but you know, it's funny. I was thinking about
- 3:05Speaker 1: you the other day because I was thinking about this
- 3:08Speaker 1: most recent Bachelor and Zak Showalter I believe it is
- 3:12Speaker 1: his name, and I interviewed him. Seemed like a nice guy.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I didn't really watch the season, so I know there
- 3:18Speaker 1: was some tom foolery at the tail end there that
- 3:20Speaker 1: kind of created some drama. But you know what I
- 3:23Speaker 1: was wondering, because I mean, Jason Mesnick came out of
- 3:26Speaker 1: this show just I mean, you went through the process,
- 3:30Speaker 1: you married someone who was from the show. I get it.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It wasn't exactly the ending that was scripted, so to speaks,
- 3:37Speaker 1: but it was such a magical ending because it was
- 3:39Speaker 1: like anything for love right, and Jason Mesnick's willing to
- 3:42Speaker 1: go through the shit storm of all the publicity that
- 3:45Speaker 1: would happen that was negative to find his true love,
- 3:48Speaker 1: a Michigan girl by the way, and you know, basically
- 3:53Speaker 1: just I think just light the world on fire at
- 3:56Speaker 1: the time, and I was always so happy for you guys.
- 3:58Speaker 1: But then I noticed, like recently, when they bring the
- 4:01Speaker 1: old guys on for counseling, I get why I'm not
- 4:03Speaker 1: included in. That was a mess, but they, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 1: they got to get the mess back out there. The
- 4:09Speaker 1: mess has some words of wisdom. Well, you know, it's
- 4:12Speaker 1: funny who and again, everybody's gonna kill me. I don't
- 4:16Speaker 1: even watch the show. What's it called again, Bachelor, Bachelor,
- 4:21Speaker 1: So my friends call me the bitcheler, which I think
- 4:24Speaker 1: is funny. But yeah, so I was called um before
- 4:29Speaker 1: the season started because they had initially picked somebody else
- 4:33Speaker 1: to be the bachelor. Okay, and I don't know his again,
- 4:36Speaker 1: can you tell who that was? It was? It was
- 4:39Speaker 1: a dad, all I know. It was a single dad.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Oh and then he got he was on paradise. They like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I have my white already booked to go out there
- 4:48Speaker 1: to do some of my you know, wizardry being dad,
- 4:52Speaker 1: which nothing right, which is just keep your kids alive.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So it like white was and then something negative came
- 5:02Speaker 1: out about him, and it was at night, and they're like,
- 5:06Speaker 1: so we canceled your flight, Okay, I'm going to go
- 5:10Speaker 1: in another direction, and it was all within like wow,
- 5:14Speaker 1: why I remember that. I do remember being totally shocked
- 5:17Speaker 1: because Michael is the person that you're talking about, and
- 5:20Speaker 1: I was shocked when the bad publicity came out about
- 5:24Speaker 1: him because I thought he seems like a stand up dude,
- 5:27Speaker 1: like be like Salts of the Earth kind of people.
- 5:31Speaker 1: But that's shocking to me because he could have been
- 5:34Speaker 1: the Bachelor if this bad press hadn't come out, and
- 5:38Speaker 1: he wouldn't have met Danielle, who he's now. I think
- 5:40Speaker 1: they're living together or she's actually living in the same city.
- 5:45Speaker 1: They wouldn't have met and and Zack wouldn't have been
- 5:49Speaker 1: the bachelor. This is all never played the whole path,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and I even think about my path, like because you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I picked Melissa, and then that the ABC went down
- 5:59Speaker 1: the path of like, okay, since you are going back
- 6:03Speaker 1: to Molly, now we want Melissa to be the Bachelor,
- 6:06Speaker 1: but Molly was supposed to be the Bachelor. But then yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: because Melissa had a boyfriend. They went to Jillian, right,
- 6:13Speaker 1: So yes, if it wasn't for like, it could have
- 6:16Speaker 1: been a totally different train of people involved. Yeah, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 1: what have you guys us sliding doors? Yes, the butterfly effect.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I mean, we could just do a movie about the
- 6:28Speaker 1: Bachelor butterfly effect and how it has changed so many
- 6:31Speaker 1: people's lives just from that. You're so right. If it
- 6:35Speaker 1: hadn't been Jillian and it had been Molly or even Melissa,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I mean that just kind of blows my mind. Well,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I just remember, like when I was going through all that,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know, and again some of the painful conversation I
- 6:48Speaker 1: was having behind the scenes. Yeah, the back then, the
- 6:51Speaker 1: producers wanted me to make sure that Melissa went through
- 6:55Speaker 1: these feelings on set because they needed the American to
- 7:00Speaker 1: feel for her and love her so she could be
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Bachelorette. Got it? Got it? So you basically hadn't
- 7:06Speaker 1: you get a drubbing? Yeah, televised who I'm a company
- 7:11Speaker 1: man anything? Yeah, you took it from the team. Oh yes,
- 7:17Speaker 1: No it was a bad idea. Yeah, no, it was
- 7:19Speaker 1: not a bad idea. You ended up with your beautiful wife, yeah, Riley,
- 7:24Speaker 1: And yeah, I think it's such a success too, yea, yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 1: speaking so, yes, of course it is a success. But
- 7:32Speaker 1: speaking of Melissa, have you talked to her since since
- 7:36Speaker 1: the show or since? That fatures such a wit like
- 7:39Speaker 1: it's again everybody should know. It's a long time ago
- 7:41Speaker 1: and going back and you're both very happy. Yeah, but
- 7:45Speaker 1: going back the last time I talked to her, going back,
- 7:48Speaker 1: the producers said, okay, so now that like we allowed
- 7:53Speaker 1: you to talk to Molly and that's all working out,
- 7:55Speaker 1: we need you to have a conversation with Melissa because
- 7:58Speaker 1: she's not agreeing to be the bachelorette. Could you help
- 8:01Speaker 1: us ask her and follow through it being the actual bachelorette.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So I think the last time I talked to her
- 8:08Speaker 1: was on a call with her to try to convince
- 8:12Speaker 1: her to be the bachelorrette. But I didn't know that
- 8:14Speaker 1: she had gone and you know, went back to her X. Yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 1: but that's a lot of granted, that was you know,
- 8:21Speaker 1: in black and white TV and you know VHS. I
- 8:26Speaker 1: think we all realized none of our seasons were on
- 8:28Speaker 1: in high definition. No no, no, Mine was actually incredibly
- 8:33Speaker 1: low definition, like the reverse of exactly Christa's was still
- 8:38Speaker 1: glossy and gorgeous, even though it was before mine. But
- 8:41Speaker 1: they blew the budget out. They blew the budget on
- 8:43Speaker 1: the nice cameras and they went back to, you know,
- 8:45Speaker 1: at best, the telephoto lens. When I was the bachelor,
- 8:48Speaker 1: he was called blow d I used to love. They
- 8:54Speaker 1: would always go, you know, they see I would say,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you know, they see the camera adds ten pounds when
- 8:57Speaker 1: they shoot me with ten cameras. Yeah, okay, ten times ten.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm feel a little puggy day, a little puffy. Can
- 9:03Speaker 1: we uh, you know, zoom out, but you look back today. No,
- 9:07Speaker 1: it's all smoking mirrors, buddy, I got this little thin
- 9:10Speaker 1: lens on, you know, a little bit. No, I actually uh,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I actually thankfully I was. I was gonna tell Trista,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you know, we just got back from Florida, my family did,
- 9:19Speaker 1: and it's the tale of two trips. So the trip
- 9:22Speaker 1: begins as we take off and we're flying out there
- 9:25Speaker 1: and my wife gets the flu. Oh yes, So we
- 9:29Speaker 1: land and she's sick for like four days and she's like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: oh my, that sucks. Then like literally every one of
- 9:36Speaker 1: my little party ended up getting it except me. But
- 9:38Speaker 1: what I found was the kind of the benefit of
- 9:41Speaker 1: that was you're on vacation, and when you're the only
- 9:44Speaker 1: one who can actually eat anything, you don't really eat
- 9:46Speaker 1: anything because you got no one to eat with. I'm
- 9:47Speaker 1: not I'm not a solo eater guy. I wanted to
- 9:50Speaker 1: be out of Yeah. I was like bowls of you know,
- 9:54Speaker 1: honey nut cheerios and stuff. That's basically what I was
- 9:56Speaker 1: doing for the week. That is so funny you say
- 9:58Speaker 1: that because I where if Ryan is not here and
- 10:02Speaker 1: the kids have eaten or are their add activities or whatever.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I have cheerios too, Like it's a serial night. I
- 10:07Speaker 1: don't have to do anything. Yes, you know, speaking of
- 10:10Speaker 1: cheerios almost famous the ogs. Just kidding. We don't speak cheerios.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But if we were a little about a really wonderful segue,
- 10:17Speaker 1: would it? If you want a healthy snack, maybe they'll
- 10:22Speaker 1: call us. Who knows? It's so funny. Okay, So, Jason,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I want to know Molly switched jobs. She was radio hosting,
- 10:32Speaker 1: and now you guys are partnered up in the real
- 10:34Speaker 1: estate biz. I wonder just going, like, how is it
- 10:37Speaker 1: working with each other? Twenty four seven? And I've spoken
- 10:40Speaker 1: to her about it since it's happened. I feel like, um,
- 10:43Speaker 1: but tell me, tell me how you feel about working together,
- 10:46Speaker 1: how it's going. Can I ask you what she said
- 10:49Speaker 1: before I even answer that? Honestly, I feel like she
- 10:52Speaker 1: said that it was great. I mean, the fact of
- 10:55Speaker 1: the matter is, if it wasn't going great, I have
- 10:58Speaker 1: a feeling that one of you would have bowed out
- 11:00Speaker 1: by now. Yeah, good, good point. I think we just
- 11:04Speaker 1: do both totally different things. So for example, I'm kind
- 11:08Speaker 1: of yeah, as I'm like working here right now, like
- 11:10Speaker 1: the contract negotiations, getting the houses on the market, where
- 11:14Speaker 1: she's really does great with the showings and as you'd imagine,
- 11:19Speaker 1: she does great with prepping houses. Yeah right, Gary, Molly life.
- 11:24Speaker 1: We get it on the market, and so she absolutely
- 11:28Speaker 1: kills it. Oh yeah. I mean we have clients to
- 11:30Speaker 1: buy new construction homes and they're like, can Molly help
- 11:33Speaker 1: me decorate? That's awesome? Yeah, seriously. Yeah. The challenge I think,
- 11:40Speaker 1: more than anything is, like we talk about work twenty
- 11:43Speaker 1: four seven sure, yeah, right. So it's like if you
- 11:45Speaker 1: want to step away and you're like, hey, we're taking
- 11:47Speaker 1: the girls or the kids to the zoo, and you
- 11:50Speaker 1: get to the zoo and you're talking about real estate,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and then you get home and you talk about it,
- 11:55Speaker 1: so it's it's not for everybody, but so far, yeah, good.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I mean I do too. I think that it's it
- 12:03Speaker 1: probably not super common. I would think, like, I don't
- 12:07Speaker 1: think I could. I don't think I could, and I
- 12:09Speaker 1: don't think Ryan could. I don't think we could work
- 12:11Speaker 1: together as a couple and be at the same office.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Like you said, you guys have kind of different jobs,
- 12:17Speaker 1: and she's probably out of the office doing showings and
- 12:20Speaker 1: stagings and whatever. So that's probably good, but I just
- 12:23Speaker 1: don't know if I could do it. I give it
- 12:25Speaker 1: up to you guys. Actually, we do have I mean
- 12:30Speaker 1: a coach, like a coach that he think through things
- 12:34Speaker 1: and he'll notice that if we are in separate locations
- 12:37Speaker 1: for our coaching call versus in one location, something might
- 12:40Speaker 1: be going on in our personal life. Interesting. He's like, well,
- 12:46Speaker 1: why is Molly at home today? Tell me more about
- 12:50Speaker 1: this break. Is it a life coach that just you
- 12:53Speaker 1: interact with every day? No, I mean everybody in my opinion,
- 12:57Speaker 1: like and more at sports wise, like Tiger Wood as
- 13:00Speaker 1: a coach and Michael Jordan had a coach, and it
- 13:02Speaker 1: really is just much more accountable and we do it
- 13:05Speaker 1: a lot for marketing, and it's just kind of thinking
- 13:07Speaker 1: through where where the industry's going and as we build
- 13:10Speaker 1: up the big team now and how to manage people
- 13:13Speaker 1: because I'm good at the work, but having to manage
- 13:16Speaker 1: a whole team at people on top of that, so
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's really just bad off people. Yeah, so I think
- 13:21Speaker 1: that yeah for business professional business coach. Yeah, you know, Jason,
- 13:26Speaker 1: you you and I talked about this before, but I
- 13:28Speaker 1: used I was a partner in a mortgage company around
- 13:31Speaker 1: the time I was actually on The Bachelor, and it
- 13:33Speaker 1: was so interesting because I was really good at the
- 13:38Speaker 1: people part of it, right, but but I couldn't well
- 13:41Speaker 1: I couldn't sink my teeth into and why I wish
- 13:43Speaker 1: I would have had this coach at that time. So
- 13:45Speaker 1: I think it would have been really helpful for me.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Was I couldn't understand why people didn't work with the
- 13:50Speaker 1: same level of commitment, desire, you know, um just drive
- 13:56Speaker 1: that I had. So anything that wasn't that to me
- 13:59Speaker 1: was like, right, well, I'm sure I'm sure a coach
- 14:02Speaker 1: would help would have helped me find those people's strengths
- 14:05Speaker 1: and you know, see things differently where I just had
- 14:08Speaker 1: this like tunnel VISI where I'm like, they either do
- 14:09Speaker 1: it as hard as and as often as I do it,
- 14:12Speaker 1: or they're not. You know, they're not going to be
- 14:13Speaker 1: as valuable. And the people can be so valuable in
- 14:15Speaker 1: so many different ways. And it's I'm sure that's going
- 14:17Speaker 1: to be so helpful running a company. I mean, it is,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and I think I was hesitant. I would have been hesitant,
- 14:22Speaker 1: but I worked for this guy. This is when I
- 14:24Speaker 1: was on The Bachelor. Actually, I worked for this financial
- 14:26Speaker 1: guy and he was one of the richest guys in Seattle,
- 14:28Speaker 1: worth hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars, and he
- 14:31Speaker 1: was in his seventies at the time and still had
- 14:33Speaker 1: a coach that he met with twice. Really, that guy
- 14:37Speaker 1: needs a coach. I sure as hell do. Yeah, I mean, honestly,
- 14:40Speaker 1: I can see it being I mean, I guess I
- 14:42Speaker 1: kind of started with this question of like, is it
- 14:44Speaker 1: a life coach, because I can see needing help with parenting,
- 14:49Speaker 1: I mean, and just running a household as well. You know. Anyway,
- 14:55Speaker 1: that's really cool. I feel like, is that one of
- 14:57Speaker 1: the secrets to your successful marriage? The real estate coach?
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm I'm just kidding. I mean, in this in this
- 15:08Speaker 1: part of your life. Maybe a little bit. I think
- 15:12Speaker 1: it helps kind of separate working. I'm gonna shut up
- 15:16Speaker 1: because I'm gonna say something really stupid. That's not true. Um,
- 15:23Speaker 1: unless you guys are fighting, then maybe you should know,
- 15:26Speaker 1: you know, to the right show. Well, you know I
- 15:29Speaker 1: have always you know, the whole happy life, happy life. Yeah,
- 15:33Speaker 1: I've always been like a happy couple, happy me too. Yeah, right,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you do. I say that too, because I'm always like
- 15:42Speaker 1: if she just she's happy, that that means I'm not happy. Right.
- 15:46Speaker 1: So I'm pointing to you because I think my husband
- 15:50Speaker 1: feels the same way. Now, since all you always leave
- 15:53Speaker 1: you your men, maybe the fact of the matter is
- 15:56Speaker 1: you just are but hurt because we're not like happy husband,
- 15:59Speaker 1: happy men, stronger and men. Yeah, it's right. So like
- 16:08Speaker 1: somebody once told me this is when Ty was really little. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 1: they there's uh. One of the other dads on his
- 16:16Speaker 1: like t ball team was like, had was very strict
- 16:18Speaker 1: about date night with his wife, right, and I'm not
- 16:21Speaker 1: Mollie and I are definitely not as good about that specifically,
- 16:24Speaker 1: But I was like, how, like how and why how
- 16:26Speaker 1: do you make the time? And he specifically said, if
- 16:29Speaker 1: we're not good, him and his wife are, family's not good, right,
- 16:32Speaker 1: It's true, it's true. So happy, just a happy couple. Yes,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I agree, but I mean I agree, I really do.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I think if we weren't happy, then we don't have
- 16:44Speaker 1: the foundation of our family. I totally agree with that.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I just think it's funny that you guys are like, oh, whatever,
- 16:50Speaker 1: it's an happy wife say like that. I don't sound
- 16:57Speaker 1: like that. Totally totally did. That's been translation. You know
- 17:01Speaker 1: when you see like somebody, oh my gosh, that actually
- 17:04Speaker 1: I just saw on Instagram. Have you guys seen where
- 17:06Speaker 1: they do lip like lip syncing for like NFL, like
- 17:11Speaker 1: people guys on the football fields or whatever, Sarah, Like,
- 17:15Speaker 1: I think Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel has done it.
- 17:19Speaker 1: But it's kind of like that, Like you guys are
- 17:21Speaker 1: talking like this is and this is what I hear. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 1: it's like that, like the Charlie Brown thing and the
- 17:25Speaker 1: teacher so um yes, okay, So leading into what are
- 17:35Speaker 1: the secrets of your success in terms of your marriage
- 17:40Speaker 1: of our marriage, you know, the thing I think is
- 17:43Speaker 1: is just growth. I think it's like everything else personally
- 17:48Speaker 1: for me, it's been like every everything else in life,
- 17:50Speaker 1: Like my first marriage I failed and I learned a
- 17:53Speaker 1: lot um. And then even early on with Molly, like
- 17:57Speaker 1: we had to adjust to her being a stepmom and
- 17:59Speaker 1: coming in and be really young at the time. You know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: Allie was twenty four. Yet she thought she was super
- 18:05Speaker 1: mature because she paid rentum. But I think really that's
- 18:11Speaker 1: what she called men. You're in so much trouble though
- 18:18Speaker 1: I know I like to be good trouble, but she
- 18:21Speaker 1: knows that. Like as times she started to like we
- 18:24Speaker 1: both started to grow, like we've all like everybody else
- 18:27Speaker 1: we have. Like, I think communication has been the biggest
- 18:29Speaker 1: struggle in any relationship, right, work, relationship, personal relationship, But
- 18:33Speaker 1: I think it is the years go by, and like
- 18:35Speaker 1: we've been married thirteen years now, that's awesome, But I
- 18:39Speaker 1: think the communication jets gets better and better. Yeah, going
- 18:53Speaker 1: back to how your relationship started, I think it's kind
- 18:56Speaker 1: of an amazing thing, right, Like I think Tristan and
- 18:59Speaker 1: Ryan have that man magic of really finding each other
- 19:02Speaker 1: on this show and going through this like you know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: needle in a haystack type of you know thing where
- 19:07Speaker 1: we would have never met and all that kind of stuff.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But then you two, I feel like, have this extra
- 19:11Speaker 1: wrinkle that makes it really special in your own way
- 19:14Speaker 1: as well, which was you know, yeah, all all systems
- 19:18Speaker 1: pointed this way and you you bucked this system and
- 19:21Speaker 1: you went this way for love. And I think it's
- 19:23Speaker 1: just one of those things. You can look at it
- 19:25Speaker 1: a million different ways, but I think that I just
- 19:28Speaker 1: I mean, you knew you were going to get roasted
- 19:31Speaker 1: on a national television when you made that decision, but
- 19:34Speaker 1: you didn't care. You did it anyway, And I think
- 19:36Speaker 1: that that's one of those things that will persevere, will
- 19:39Speaker 1: help you two always have that to fall on. Hey,
- 19:41Speaker 1: we've been through times where people, you know, we're not
- 19:45Speaker 1: very nice to you know, Jason Mesnick, you know publicly.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I'm sure they were just ripping you apart at that time,
- 19:51Speaker 1: and you didn't care. You went for where your heart was,
- 19:54Speaker 1: And I think that says a lot about you guys.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I think you need to talk to Molly about this,
- 19:58Speaker 1: because experience was very different. Yeah. It wasn't like back
- 20:04Speaker 1: for love. It was like you ditch me. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 20:09Speaker 1: And she does every day she puts it on the
- 20:15Speaker 1: white board. Yeah a lot, that is a lot. I
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't know what that is, but it's like, it's come up.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Let's just say, yeah, let's just say it's come up
- 20:28Speaker 1: thousands of time. Why I choose to see the magic
- 20:34Speaker 1: in it? That's all I do too. You know, it's
- 20:37Speaker 1: funny because I have a lot of people, and I'm
- 20:41Speaker 1: sure sorry Itchy and my um, a lot of people
- 20:44Speaker 1: who have said over the years, oh, well, how many
- 20:47Speaker 1: successful couples are there? And and I'll mention you guys,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and they're like, they don't count. I'm like, yes, they do,
- 20:53Speaker 1: Like the branches. Yeah, I'm like, he went with his
- 20:59Speaker 1: heart and even though he knew he was going to
- 21:02Speaker 1: be roasted, as you put, he was like, no, this
- 21:05Speaker 1: is this is what I need to do, instead of
- 21:08Speaker 1: just going with what he thought the popular vote was
- 21:11Speaker 1: going to be. You know, based on everyone kind of
- 21:15Speaker 1: figuring out that you and you listen were together. Maybe
- 21:19Speaker 1: I'm wrong about thinking think of this. Were you kind
- 21:21Speaker 1: of upset at first? I was? I was because I
- 21:28Speaker 1: was friends with Melissa or so I thought. Um, And
- 21:32Speaker 1: so I was like, and I'm a I'm a loyal friend,
- 21:36Speaker 1: like I'm sure Molly could tell you that, but I
- 21:39Speaker 1: am a loyal friend, like it once once we are friends.
- 21:43Speaker 1: If you wrong my friend, you better watch out. The
- 21:47Speaker 1: scorpio comes out in me. Right. And so I was like,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I was on Melissa's side because I felt like, oh, well,
- 21:55Speaker 1: what she was telling me was that she didn't know
- 21:58Speaker 1: what was happening, and and and lo and behold what
- 22:02Speaker 1: I believe was the case that wasn't actually true, that
- 22:06Speaker 1: she knew that you guys had talked um prior to
- 22:10Speaker 1: the after the final rows, you can tell that story, um.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And so I was just basically like um, supporting her
- 22:19Speaker 1: and defending her, you know, I was. I was trying
- 22:23Speaker 1: to defend you were anti and Molly. You were just
- 22:26Speaker 1: of course not. I loved Molly, she were you like
- 22:30Speaker 1: I love my Iron Girls. Yeah, but I will say
- 22:32Speaker 1: to Blue and Blue in the face, likes Melissa is
- 22:35Speaker 1: awesome for somebody like yeah, you know, it just it
- 22:39Speaker 1: just didn't work for us. And totally I wish it
- 22:43Speaker 1: wasn't on TV over and over again, but it is
- 22:47Speaker 1: signed up for Yeah right. Yeah, that's the hardest part
- 22:50Speaker 1: is having to live through it. I mean, I, of
- 22:51Speaker 1: course have a much different story than both of yours
- 22:54Speaker 1: crash and burn one thousand percent, but point being uh,
- 22:57Speaker 1: you know, it was one of those things that you're right,
- 22:59Speaker 1: you have to live through it and live you know,
- 23:01Speaker 1: everyone's recollection of it also kind of you know what
- 23:04Speaker 1: they say, you people can rewrite history, you know, so
- 23:07Speaker 1: sometimes things change, especially with a good fifteen to twenty
- 23:10Speaker 1: years on them that you know, isn't exactly how I
- 23:12Speaker 1: went down, but it's how someone remembers it. So I
- 23:15Speaker 1: always find that to be a little bit interesting too.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I mean, I remember and again, like it's all you know,
- 23:20Speaker 1: way in the past. I remember begging the production staff
- 23:23Speaker 1: like can we just not do this on DV? Like
- 23:25Speaker 1: not good for me? And they're like, don't worry, It's
- 23:29Speaker 1: gonna be fine. They said the same thing to Jake Pavelka, Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 1: could you imagine? No, trust me, it be great for you, Jake, Yeah,
- 23:42Speaker 1: right no. But honestly, like I loved both of them,
- 23:47Speaker 1: but I was friends with Melissa at least I felt
- 23:49Speaker 1: like at the time, and um, and so I was
- 23:53Speaker 1: just kind of defending her. But please, I mean, Molly's
- 23:56Speaker 1: my girl. I love your wife, and I know I mean,
- 24:01Speaker 1: and I love the two of you together. I love
- 24:04Speaker 1: I say this to the people who are like they
- 24:06Speaker 1: don't count. I'm like whatever. Like they are, they have
- 24:09Speaker 1: fought for their relationship. It wasn't easy, as you kind
- 24:12Speaker 1: of alluded to, Like I remember, didn't she moved to
- 24:15Speaker 1: Seattle and you guys lived separately or no, you had
- 24:17Speaker 1: a long distance relationship first, right, Yeah? Yeah, like you
- 24:22Speaker 1: guys fought for your relationship. You didn't. You didn't just
- 24:25Speaker 1: jump ship and be like, Okay, let's move in together.
- 24:27Speaker 1: We're having babies tomorrow, you know, like you guys fought
- 24:29Speaker 1: for your relationship so I play, and you probably had
- 24:32Speaker 1: to be so. I mean, Jason, I know you probably
- 24:34Speaker 1: talked about this a lot too, but with you had
- 24:36Speaker 1: to be so careful, you know, with your child and
- 24:40Speaker 1: to make sure that it was the right thing before
- 24:43Speaker 1: you know, you're you're not necessarily going to be playing
- 24:45Speaker 1: house on the weekends when you have a young child,
- 24:49Speaker 1: you know, and you were so you were so mindful
- 24:51Speaker 1: of that. I think you always put your son first,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and I was always really respected. I respected that a
- 24:56Speaker 1: lot because at the time I didn't have kids, but
- 24:57Speaker 1: I was just like man if I did, and now
- 24:59Speaker 1: that I I do have them, I could only imagine
- 25:02Speaker 1: how it had to be that had to be just
- 25:03Speaker 1: priority number one for you, and I thought it came through.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I mean it's funny even going through
- 25:08Speaker 1: that because I think the biggest arguments add with my
- 25:10Speaker 1: ex wife was like she did not want him a
- 25:12Speaker 1: part of it anything, right, and I know, what about
- 25:15Speaker 1: the little bits here and there. Yeah, but like I
- 25:18Speaker 1: think the hardest, I would say probably the hardest one
- 25:20Speaker 1: of the hardest things going through that show is they
- 25:22Speaker 1: really wanted him to be a part of everything. They're like, well,
- 25:26Speaker 1: if we have a big date in all the girls
- 25:28Speaker 1: babysit tie And I was like, what do we don't
- 25:31Speaker 1: do that? Yeah? Yeah, can you imagine though, being a
- 25:36Speaker 1: parent now? No, no, no, I really can't. I can't
- 25:40Speaker 1: even imagine being a contestant or whatever you want to
- 25:43Speaker 1: call it, a participant. I literally said the other day,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I cannot if the show was if the social media
- 25:52Speaker 1: was what it is now, back then, I don't. I
- 25:55Speaker 1: couldn't have survived. And Ryan said, you would not have
- 25:58Speaker 1: made it because I used to look at the message
- 26:00Speaker 1: boards like and I cannot imagine being skewered like the
- 26:05Speaker 1: people get skewered. Now, I really really can't. I mean, yeah,
- 26:09Speaker 1: they were just message boards. For Trista and I and
- 26:11Speaker 1: I remember I would see I would see like a
- 26:14Speaker 1: hundred because you make that It's almost like you go
- 26:17Speaker 1: down this rabbit hole. Right, Everyone's like, don't look at it.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I didn't even know it exist until he told me
- 26:20Speaker 1: not to look at it. Then I looked at it.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Worst mistake ever. And I'd see like a thousand nice
- 26:25Speaker 1: things and I'd see one or two bad things, and
- 26:29Speaker 1: those two things would consume me for days, saying like
- 26:32Speaker 1: I would literally think about it, like what why would
- 26:34Speaker 1: this person say this? Like that is the meanest thing ever.
- 26:36Speaker 1: And it was like, I can't even imagine how the
- 26:39Speaker 1: contestants gone there an hour, like you said, the participants
- 26:41Speaker 1: whatever they're calling, I would be so in my own
- 26:44Speaker 1: head I probably just quit. I really wonder how many
- 26:47Speaker 1: of us would actually say the same thing, you know
- 26:50Speaker 1: what I mean, if any of us, any of the ogs.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Jason was at the beginning, right, you were at the
- 26:56Speaker 1: beginning of social media? Yeah, I mean, you know, people
- 26:58Speaker 1: were on my MySpace page and I'm not joking, I'm
- 27:02Speaker 1: not joking. I believe it. Oh my god, I had
- 27:06Speaker 1: kind of just started. Yeah, but who was the guy
- 27:10Speaker 1: who started my space? Tom Remember the guy that was
- 27:12Speaker 1: no idea. I remember the guy telling about he was
- 27:14Speaker 1: like he followed everybody. He was like, yeah, it was
- 27:17Speaker 1: all literally it was all my space. That is so funny. Yeah. No,
- 27:22Speaker 1: I mean the way that it is and not just
- 27:24Speaker 1: social media, but I feel like the way that they
- 27:28Speaker 1: pin people against each other. Like I always say, and
- 27:31Speaker 1: I've I've heard this from a lot of different people
- 27:34Speaker 1: that our season was very innocent and you know, and
- 27:38Speaker 1: innocent in the way that no one really knew about
- 27:41Speaker 1: it or people did. I mean, obviously thirty million people
- 27:45Speaker 1: or whatever watched it, but I think that they were
- 27:48Speaker 1: still like in it for like the love story. And
- 27:51Speaker 1: now I feel like maybe a lot of people watch
- 27:53Speaker 1: it because of the drama, and so that's what they
- 27:55Speaker 1: have to continue to do is just make things dramatic.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And I just don't think I I could have handled it.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I mean all the time, just by which shows are
- 28:03Speaker 1: on in our house, and I'll give you two awesome examples.
- 28:07Speaker 1: One is The Housewives of Whatever, Yeah right, right, and
- 28:12Speaker 1: then secondly, this is new to our family and it's
- 28:15Speaker 1: going to talk about how bad of a parent I am.
- 28:17Speaker 1: But show called Dance Moms that Okay, that's me. So
- 28:24Speaker 1: Dance Moms is on all the time now stupid, but
- 28:28Speaker 1: it's like that drama is what people want to see, yes, right,
- 28:32Speaker 1: I think the love story is like cute after after
- 28:36Speaker 1: the fact. Yeah right. Yeah. You know one of my friends,
- 28:41Speaker 1: we were just in a dance competition this weekend, um,
- 28:45Speaker 1: and one of my friends turns to me and she's like,
- 28:48Speaker 1: this is what you need to do a show on
- 28:50Speaker 1: Dance Moms. But the one that you're watching, Jason was
- 28:54Speaker 1: super dramatic and the like director of the studio was
- 28:56Speaker 1: yelling at all the moms and there was always like
- 28:59Speaker 1: you know, in fighting whatever. These girls are super talented.
- 29:03Speaker 1: But I really would love to have some kind of
- 29:08Speaker 1: show out there where we actually focus on the talent
- 29:12Speaker 1: of these kids because it really is like amazing to
- 29:17Speaker 1: see and we like we've pour our lives into these girls.
- 29:21Speaker 1: So I would love the positive part of that. But
- 29:23Speaker 1: you're right, like people just want to see the drama,
- 29:25Speaker 1: like they want to see the fighting. Oh I hate it.
- 29:28Speaker 1: So I'm new, Like again, I don't pay attention a
- 29:31Speaker 1: lot to like what's going on in the about the
- 29:33Speaker 1: world world, but I'm fair to understand that Flice has
- 29:38Speaker 1: more time on his hands if you want to pitch
- 29:39Speaker 1: something to him. We might have just brought that up
- 29:44Speaker 1: because we neither one of us know what's going on,
- 29:46Speaker 1: but we had just said before before we came on.
- 29:49Speaker 1: We're like, yeah, what'd you hear about that? I heard this? Right?
- 29:51Speaker 1: Did you hear? You know? What did you hear? Jason? Yeah?
- 29:54Speaker 1: You probably know more than us. Well, I only know
- 29:56Speaker 1: through what Molly Molly said, but like from my understand
- 30:00Speaker 1: ending is that um, he he could have done better
- 30:05Speaker 1: about bringing other other ethnicities and other culture into the show.
- 30:10Speaker 1: That's what got it. But I would say, like again,
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'm probably get quoted on this somewhere, but it's not
- 30:16Speaker 1: just like from my experience when I was going to
- 30:19Speaker 1: be the bachelor, right, I got calls not just from
- 30:23Speaker 1: him but from ADC to say, the only reason they're
- 30:26Speaker 1: trying to figure out if you're the right guy right
- 30:28Speaker 1: now is because they've never had a Jewish but not
- 30:30Speaker 1: even a dad, but a Jewish bachelor, right. And it's
- 30:34Speaker 1: not like so that's a relation. You mean they were
- 30:36Speaker 1: trying to figure out if they wanted a Jewish bachelor,
- 30:40Speaker 1: or they were trying to figure out if America as
- 30:43Speaker 1: a whole would accept somebody who is not of a
- 30:47Speaker 1: different faith. And I you know, and I had that
- 30:53Speaker 1: conversation many times with them about you know, different ethnicities
- 30:57Speaker 1: as well, because it wasn't it was not from from
- 31:00Speaker 1: what I remember, it was not about Mike Fleiss or
- 31:04Speaker 1: any of the leaders deciding because they didn't get the
- 31:06Speaker 1: final decision. It's the corporation now, right, So well it's
- 31:10Speaker 1: it's not just ABC, it's Warner you know. Yeah, it's
- 31:15Speaker 1: like who. Yeah, they're just worried about who are they
- 31:17Speaker 1: going to sell enough ad space depending on who's on
- 31:19Speaker 1: the show. Oh, I see. So they're like, oh if
- 31:23Speaker 1: we if we, if we have a Jewish bachelor, will
- 31:27Speaker 1: our sponsors still sponsor us because they want whatever else
- 31:31Speaker 1: whatever other religion. It's a piece of that. And they'll say, well, like,
- 31:35Speaker 1: if less people watch it because he's a Jewish guy,
- 31:38Speaker 1: therefore we'll have that's terrible And it didn't work like like,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and I will say in defense, obviously it didn't affect
- 31:44Speaker 1: you because obviously you were they they made the right choice,
- 31:47Speaker 1: and they they had you as the bachelor. Well and
- 31:50Speaker 1: even on top of that, I will argue that like
- 31:52Speaker 1: Mike Fleis is Jewish, and then Jeff programming was Jewish.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Like it was just like it was a Jewish LoveFest,
- 31:59Speaker 1: but you do with any of us, or like the
- 32:02Speaker 1: fact that whether you like somebody or not, it was
- 32:04Speaker 1: where could you sell ads with this guy here? Yeah? Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 1: I'm sure it was focused group. Everything's focused group to death,
- 32:12Speaker 1: you know, like they cut out like we did have
- 32:14Speaker 1: like there were funny little things we did with something
- 32:19Speaker 1: about Judaism, and everything was cut out. Oh really, yeah,
- 32:23Speaker 1: we're not bad. We're not that bad. We're not that bad.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Is that what you just said? That bad? Yeah? I'm sure,
- 32:33Speaker 1: you know. I wonder if if you know, it was
- 32:36Speaker 1: just like they focused group of everything, right, so oh
- 32:39Speaker 1: well this work? Oh yeah, it's gonna work. Great, Okay,
- 32:40Speaker 1: we'll do it. You know. It's almost like it's just
- 32:43Speaker 1: interesting to me. But well, obviously they made the great choice.
- 32:47Speaker 1: But I remember the conversations of like different ethnicities, and
- 32:52Speaker 1: this was not coming from anybody specifically, it was coming
- 32:54Speaker 1: from these research groups, and like it was like, you
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't know if America is ready for that? Right? Huh wow, interesting,
- 33:02Speaker 1: that's just about your account, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah,
- 33:08Speaker 1: I think it's it's interesting. I feel bad for just
- 33:15Speaker 1: in general, not just not just Vice, not just Chris Harrison,
- 33:19Speaker 1: but anyone who gets canceled, you know, Like the cancel
- 33:22Speaker 1: culture I think is I don't know, I think it's
- 33:26Speaker 1: kind of out of control, and you know, you have
- 33:29Speaker 1: to be so careful with what you say and what
- 33:32Speaker 1: you do because you're worried that you're just gonna be
- 33:36Speaker 1: completely blackballed from everything and anything, you know. So yeah, yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's definitely, it's definitely an interesting time. I actually was
- 33:55Speaker 1: saying the other day how bad, how bad I feel,
- 33:57Speaker 1: And I had talked to Zach and I was with Clayton,
- 34:02Speaker 1: and both of them had gone through this really challenging
- 34:05Speaker 1: time of being The Bachelor when it's on the when
- 34:08Speaker 1: its ratings have been declining, and they're they're taking shouldering
- 34:13Speaker 1: full responsibility in their minds for the for the show,
- 34:16Speaker 1: you know. And I get that because I mean, I know, Jason,
- 34:18Speaker 1: I actually talked about this years ago, but I remember saying,
- 34:20Speaker 1: like half the reason I didn't want to be the
- 34:22Speaker 1: Bachelor when they asked me to be was I was like,
- 34:25Speaker 1: let's got nowhere to go but down. Yeah, I mean,
- 34:27Speaker 1: you know, what am I gonna do. I'm like the Titanic.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I'm like the captain was taking this thing, and you know,
- 34:33Speaker 1: it was one of those things where now this twenty
- 34:35Speaker 1: years later, the show still here. I'm like, I guess
- 34:36Speaker 1: we did all right, Tris, and we kept it a lot,
- 34:38Speaker 1: but it you know, but it was like I remember
- 34:40Speaker 1: that time and I remember feeling that pressure, like, oh
- 34:42Speaker 1: my gosh. And you know, and thankfully my season was
- 34:45Speaker 1: at that time where we did have a ton of
- 34:47Speaker 1: you were still and you know, and so it's like
- 34:49Speaker 1: now this many years later, when it went from twenty
- 34:52Speaker 1: eight or thirty million to now like two or three million,
- 34:54Speaker 1: and it's largely because of the social media presence. I
- 34:57Speaker 1: think the show can be watched a million different ways
- 34:58Speaker 1: that maybe aren't you know, quantifiable necessarily, but it's like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: I mean, man, those guys who feel so much pressure,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you know, like they're like, oh, I was the boring
- 35:06Speaker 1: bachelor everyone. You know, I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 35:09Speaker 1: You know, like it's a show for twenty years. It's
- 35:12Speaker 1: like the Simpsons. It's like you can't last forever. But
- 35:15Speaker 1: hopefully it continues, but you know, and because it will
- 35:18Speaker 1: but I think there's a lot of pressure on these
- 35:20Speaker 1: guys too, and they feel like they're just you know
- 35:23Speaker 1: and reship. Yeah, oh yeah, all of them. I feel like,
- 35:27Speaker 1: I feel like, now it's got to be so hard
- 35:30Speaker 1: because you couldn't have ever made a mistake in your
- 35:32Speaker 1: life ever, you know, because if it's found out, then
- 35:36Speaker 1: you're going to be canceled. Yeah. And not that these
- 35:38Speaker 1: people shouldn't have to answer for these mistakes, but I
- 35:41Speaker 1: just don't think they should go so far as to
- 35:43Speaker 1: be completely blackballed from everything, do you know what I mean?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Like I yeah, so you know, write a statement and
- 35:50Speaker 1: if you feel remorseful about what you did, you know,
- 35:53Speaker 1: apologize and do better, and you know, make yourself better
- 35:57Speaker 1: by by actively doing things things that are opposite to
- 36:01Speaker 1: the mistake that you made, you know, redemption right exactly.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I feel like I was just having this conversation with
- 36:09Speaker 1: my daughter yesterday about and I don't even know why
- 36:12Speaker 1: we were bringing it up, but about giving people second chances.
- 36:15Speaker 1: And I told her, I do believe that everyone deserves
- 36:19Speaker 1: a second chance. We're all human, we make mistakes, and
- 36:23Speaker 1: if we are remorseful in those mistakes, then the hope
- 36:28Speaker 1: is that you are redeemed and forgiven, and I just
- 36:31Speaker 1: I just wish that was that was more a part
- 36:33Speaker 1: of our culture now instead of focusing on canceling it.
- 36:36Speaker 1: It's hard, I think, but I just think about it.
- 36:38Speaker 1: It work all the time too. It's like any successful
- 36:42Speaker 1: business makes so many mistakes and you learn. Yeah. Yeah,
- 36:45Speaker 1: And what we're also saying, so we're saying is like,
- 36:47Speaker 1: of course there are terrible things that people do that
- 36:49Speaker 1: you some things are not redeemable, right totally. That is
- 36:53Speaker 1: actually what Blakesley said. She was like, I don't know
- 36:56Speaker 1: if some things are forgiven. Like like if Ryan ever
- 36:59Speaker 1: hurt our kids, I don't know that I would like
- 37:02Speaker 1: physically hurt them, you know, like that would be really
- 37:05Speaker 1: hard to overcome. Yeah, but you know, I do feel
- 37:09Speaker 1: like they're there are certain things that you know, if
- 37:12Speaker 1: someone truly is remorseful about um and proves through action
- 37:18Speaker 1: that they have changed to then I just think about
- 37:20Speaker 1: it as a parent too, like you want or your
- 37:23Speaker 1: kids to make mistakes and learn from them. I mean,
- 37:26Speaker 1: I like, I think about that this is a stupid mistake.
- 37:29Speaker 1: But like Tye works so hard to be to be
- 37:32Speaker 1: on the varsity basketball team, right he didn't make it
- 37:35Speaker 1: his first couple of years, and he made it. And
- 37:37Speaker 1: then in one of the big games, he made a
- 37:40Speaker 1: mistake and they lost, right, and I had never seen
- 37:43Speaker 1: him so upset, like as an eighteen year old. He's
- 37:45Speaker 1: a big six five yea, God's huge, and I'm like,
- 37:50Speaker 1: my heart is broken. I'm like, I don't ever want
- 37:52Speaker 1: him to feel that way. But he, as a young
- 37:54Speaker 1: guy like bounce back faster than I could have, Like
- 37:58Speaker 1: I would drag me down. But like it was interesting
- 38:00Speaker 1: to see as a parent, like he made a mistake,
- 38:04Speaker 1: he learned from his mistake, and now he's moving on. Yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 1: that's just good parenting. That's that's why I think that's
- 38:12Speaker 1: really good parenting. I do because I think of that
- 38:14Speaker 1: all the time, Like, man, I hope I prepare my
- 38:16Speaker 1: kids properly for moments like that, because they're going to
- 38:18Speaker 1: experience them, you know. So good for you, guys, Good
- 38:21Speaker 1: for you and your Molly and Molly and your Axe
- 38:23Speaker 1: and everyone for the involvement there. To have him be
- 38:26Speaker 1: able to bounce back like that, I think that's a
- 38:28Speaker 1: big statement about you guys. Yeah, well maybe that's because
- 38:30Speaker 1: he's dicherous. He went off to college here soon. I
- 38:33Speaker 1: was just going to ask, what's happening? Where is he going?
- 38:36Speaker 1: Has he decided he's going to go to Boise State? Okay,
- 38:41Speaker 1: too far from basketball? Not for basketball. He wants to
- 38:45Speaker 1: do his own thing. He's got friends going to kind
- 38:47Speaker 1: of all the local schools in Washington, California, even Arizona.
- 38:51Speaker 1: And he's like he hasn't completely he's not a one
- 38:54Speaker 1: hundred percent in, but he's like, I kind of want
- 38:56Speaker 1: to do my own thing. And I really the orange man,
- 39:00Speaker 1: that's the coolest colored football field I've ever beten to
- 39:03Speaker 1: in my life. The field is bright orange. Yeah, I
- 39:06Speaker 1: still help you there. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, it's a
- 39:09Speaker 1: really cool area too, isn't it blue? Oh there's blue.
- 39:12Speaker 1: You're right, it's bright blue. But they're blue and orange
- 39:15Speaker 1: and orange. Yeah, like theos. Yeah, it stands out big time. Yeah.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I bet that's so fun. And how is Riley doing?
- 39:28Speaker 1: She is such a little Molly, I mean, yeah, oh
- 39:31Speaker 1: my god. But you know what I didn't realize is
- 39:34Speaker 1: that drama with these little ones starts pretty early. I
- 39:38Speaker 1: was super really early. The girls girls like WHOA totally
- 39:44Speaker 1: different than Little Boy Daddy Donuts Day is still going strong. Yeah,
- 39:48Speaker 1: I think we're like eight years into like donuts with
- 39:51Speaker 1: Daddy every Friday. I love it. I love you need to, um,
- 39:55Speaker 1: you need to write a book about that, considering you
- 39:58Speaker 1: just wrote a book about your poopoo face. Yes, yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 1: the poop pase was well, the poper face was all
- 40:03Speaker 1: about I will tell you that was Ty's potty training experience.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So that's really what we've from. And Riley has been
- 40:09Speaker 1: bugging me since she's been aware of that book coming
- 40:13Speaker 1: out that her and I are going to do. You
- 40:15Speaker 1: have to. I love that idea. Oh I'm jealous, Like
- 40:20Speaker 1: I always wanted to write a children's book and I
- 40:22Speaker 1: just never could come up with the right idea. I
- 40:25Speaker 1: love it. Thank you for sending me one, even though
- 40:27Speaker 1: my kids are far out of diapers and minor and diapers. Buddy,
- 40:33Speaker 1: it's okay, I'll go get it from Barnes and Noble.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Oh oh, pop, I'll give you one. Po Yeah, you
- 40:42Speaker 1: know it's funny. I'm actually we're at the point where
- 40:45Speaker 1: we're just trying to get Grayson to feel comfortable going
- 40:47Speaker 1: to the bathroom by himself, because you know, like right,
- 40:50Speaker 1: he's always like Daddy, come on, I have to go
- 40:52Speaker 1: to the bathroom, like you got this, buddy, No, no,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I need you to go with me. And I'm like,
- 40:55Speaker 1: all right, you know, because in my mind, I'm like,
- 40:57Speaker 1: you know, I got a late start of being a dad,
- 41:00Speaker 1: so I'm gonna soak it up, man, because sooner than
- 41:02Speaker 1: later he's probably gonna be like, you know, get out
- 41:03Speaker 1: of here, Dad, Why do you I'll be like, hey,
- 41:05Speaker 1: what are you gonna do? What are you doing here, buddy?
- 41:06Speaker 1: If I don't need you in here? You know, what
- 41:08Speaker 1: are you doing? But you're loving it, aren't you? I am, man,
- 41:13Speaker 1: I love it. I gotta say like, I think I
- 41:15Speaker 1: think if I would have been at you know, the
- 41:19Speaker 1: conventional age of having children, which you know, all my
- 41:21Speaker 1: buddies their kids are in college and you know, going
- 41:24Speaker 1: to college. But I feel like I may have been.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I don't think I was prepared. I don't think I
- 41:29Speaker 1: think I was a little too selfish then, even though
- 41:30Speaker 1: I thought I was, uh, you know, giving a magnanimous person.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I think I think it happened at the right time
- 41:37Speaker 1: for me because I'm at this part in life where
- 41:39Speaker 1: I can go, you know what, I'm not doing that today?
- 41:41Speaker 1: You guys, go have fun I'm staying right here and
- 41:45Speaker 1: you know, making sandcastles with my kids, you know, or whatever.
- 41:47Speaker 1: It's I love. I love being at this phase having
- 41:50Speaker 1: the kids. I just feel bad that, you know, their
- 41:53Speaker 1: friends are gonna be like, why is your grandpa on
- 41:55Speaker 1: a walker as my dad? That's my dad. He's an
- 42:00Speaker 1: under five. He's still kicking like, let's ups. But yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 1: Well with Jason, We're so happy for you, I'm saying
- 42:13Speaker 1: we me and Bob obviously, I'm very happy for you
- 42:16Speaker 1: guys in your success, love your family. I am very
- 42:19Speaker 1: excited to see the finished product of the new house.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my gosh, is that all consuming?
- 42:28Speaker 1: Not for me. We had a big conversation yesterday about
- 42:32Speaker 1: chunky windows because I've never heard I've never heard of
- 42:36Speaker 1: chunky windows before. But windows are are in right, there's
- 42:41Speaker 1: just like a structure. The group's going on, so it
- 42:43Speaker 1: looks like a real house, but the windows in Molly
- 42:46Speaker 1: is panicking about the chunkiness of them. Okay, interesting chic term.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah it's her term. Oh got it, it's not a
- 42:57Speaker 1: technical I see. Um. No. I love following her stories
- 43:02Speaker 1: because you know, building a house is just so much
- 43:05Speaker 1: to watch. I don't know, yeah it is. Yeah. Um
- 43:09Speaker 1: so anyway, thanks for coming on and having It's always
- 43:13Speaker 1: fun to hang out. Always great seeing you, buddy. Definitely
- 43:16Speaker 1: a you know, I will be the Godfather's Godfather that
- 43:23Speaker 1: maybe you're I'm Godfather too? Oh there you go there
- 43:26Speaker 1: you yeah, yeah, I have got Father one. That's a
- 43:29Speaker 1: good one. I like it. I liked both of those movies.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Got Father three, we don't need it? No, was it
- 43:34Speaker 1: just was it just named Godfather one and Godfather too?
- 43:37Speaker 1: Or did they have like titles they try to three? Oh? Yeah,
- 43:39Speaker 1: there was titles with it. Godfather what's the title? Do
- 43:42Speaker 1: we know? Okay? Yes? Right? Godfather who? Did have like
- 43:46Speaker 1: a subtitle? Yeah? I can't remember what it was. Godfather
- 43:49Speaker 1: three I think was just basically referred to as the
- 43:51Speaker 1: one that shouldn't have been made? Yes, right of course,
- 43:56Speaker 1: which I have not seen. But give yeah, I give
- 43:58Speaker 1: Molly and the kids our best and tell Tye we're
- 44:00Speaker 1: excited for him. And um, I love watching your and
- 44:04Speaker 1: Riley's don't have choices on Fridays, so keep them common cute, Yes,
- 44:08Speaker 1: and thanks for joining us on the OG's Buddy you
- 44:10Speaker 1: got it anytime, guys. All right? By J J. Jason
- 44:15Speaker 1: Masnick everybody. God, he's a great guy. Man. I love
- 44:18Speaker 1: that guy. You know, it's funny. I regret when I
- 44:21Speaker 1: lived in Pacific Northwest, I lived in Seattle for four years.
- 44:24Speaker 1: We didn't get together a ton, but in the beginning
- 44:26Speaker 1: it was nice because Jason always made effort to include
- 44:29Speaker 1: me and stuff, and you know, made me feel welcome
- 44:31Speaker 1: and uh and I really enjoyed it. You know, I
- 44:34Speaker 1: just was traveling at that point so much in my
- 44:36Speaker 1: life that it was bananas. But he was always such
- 44:39Speaker 1: a nice guy. And we have a lot of friends
- 44:40Speaker 1: in common that live out there in Seattle, so it
- 44:43Speaker 1: was always nice to cross paths when we did, and
- 44:46Speaker 1: you know, just a good dude. Really assaulted the earth guy,
- 44:49Speaker 1: you know, agreed, agreed. I just loved them. Their family
- 44:54Speaker 1: is really truly one of my favorites. Yeah, I think
- 44:58Speaker 1: you're right though. They fought for that. They fought for
- 45:00Speaker 1: that family. Are these are of all the happiness in
- 45:02Speaker 1: the world, you know, I mean, honestly, any couple who
- 45:06Speaker 1: was able to stay together even if they weren't a
- 45:08Speaker 1: lead on the show, one of the couple people in
- 45:12Speaker 1: the couple, even if one of them wasn't a lead.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I think we give them all credit for being you know,
- 45:18Speaker 1: from the show, because there is not I hate to
- 45:23Speaker 1: say pressure because I don't feel like Ryan and I
- 45:25Speaker 1: have ever really felt pressure to stay together. But um,
- 45:30Speaker 1: there is all, you know, all the judgment and everything
- 45:34Speaker 1: that comes along with being in the public eye in
- 45:39Speaker 1: in terms of your relationship. So um, I think I
- 45:43Speaker 1: one hundred percent include them every single time when it
- 45:46Speaker 1: comes to success Force society too. So you know, it's
- 45:50Speaker 1: funny when whenever we were talking to Ashley Ashley Ashley
- 45:53Speaker 1: Ebert Rosenbaum, Yeah, and she had mentioned all the you know,
- 45:58Speaker 1: the kind of like the eight that she got online
- 46:01Speaker 1: when they were splitting up. Imagine starting your relationship with that, right,
- 46:06Speaker 1: So like you're kind of coming into it sort of
- 46:09Speaker 1: in this situation. That's so it's it's almost I wouldn't
- 46:12Speaker 1: say it's almost understandable, because it's not understandable at all,
- 46:15Speaker 1: but it's almost like you can say, oh, wow, I
- 46:17Speaker 1: guess I get it at the end because people are like,
- 46:19Speaker 1: why do you let it happen? Type of thing? And yeah,
- 46:22Speaker 1: you know glasshouses people, they're living glass houses strow stones, right,
- 46:25Speaker 1: So but it's like for someone to kick start their
- 46:27Speaker 1: relationship like that. It had to be so challenging. So
- 46:31Speaker 1: I feel like there's something to be said about that.
- 46:33Speaker 1: You know, I think you make it through the fire
- 46:34Speaker 1: and you get to the other side and it's pretty awesome. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I agree, And I would go so far as to
- 46:41Speaker 1: say I think they are the couple that probably had
- 46:45Speaker 1: the most trauma to deal with in the beginning, because
- 46:48Speaker 1: I think you chose somebody else, right, I don't think
- 46:51Speaker 1: there's anybody else who chose someone else. And then, um,
- 46:55Speaker 1: you know, well already didn't already do that? Already did that?
- 46:58Speaker 1: Thenybody so many do it, but he did ad mid
- 47:01Speaker 1: season exactly. It wasn't like after the final rows and
- 47:06Speaker 1: you know all of that. I mean, yes, definitely, Ari
- 47:09Speaker 1: I think and Lauren have done yeah story, yes, yeah,
- 47:16Speaker 1: that is a very good Um. But you're right though,
- 47:18Speaker 1: I mean I think to come through it, anybody to
- 47:21Speaker 1: come through it, I mean there's a lot of pressure,
- 47:23Speaker 1: and you know, any relationship in the public eye obviously,
- 47:26Speaker 1: you know my I got married to an actress and
- 47:29Speaker 1: it was very much in the public eye. And it
- 47:30Speaker 1: wasn't from the show, but it was it was still
- 47:33Speaker 1: felt like a lot of pressure, you know. So, I
- 47:35Speaker 1: mean it was one of those things where you know,
- 47:37Speaker 1: it's kind of nice to have that anonimitie once in
- 47:39Speaker 1: a while again, and you know, every every now and
- 47:42Speaker 1: then you know you have it. But I think for
- 47:44Speaker 1: those two, I think they you know, they were trial
- 47:46Speaker 1: by fire for sure, so to make it through it.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I'm very happy for them, and I'm glad he was
- 47:51Speaker 1: on the show, and I'm excited that maybe I can
- 47:53Speaker 1: you know, maybe he'll send me a copy of Poop
- 47:55Speaker 1: Poo Book and it'll be helpful. Yeah, that's right, I'm
- 47:59Speaker 1: sure you will. I'm sure must you just forgot, you
- 48:02Speaker 1: must have forgot. The other guy totally forgot. Yeah, it happens,
- 48:06Speaker 1: can happen, all right? Bye, No, you're like, I have
- 48:11Speaker 1: my signed copy. Yeah, well, I love you, Tristan Sutter,
- 48:16Speaker 1: and please give Ryan and Blakesley. I'm a boy Max
- 48:20Speaker 1: who just you know, it's Blakesley's birthday to day, Happy birthday.
- 48:26Speaker 1: You know. I saw that post you put um of
- 48:29Speaker 1: you and her standing with each other, and God has
- 48:31Speaker 1: a beautiful post. I loved it, very very nice, very sweet.
- 48:35Speaker 1: So happy birthday this weekend my baby girl who's had
- 48:39Speaker 1: you know, a full face of makeup because she was dancing.
- 48:41Speaker 1: But she doesn't need that. She's got you by the game.
- 48:45Speaker 1: She's thurteen. I gotta used to say she's fourteen. She's fourteen.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I have a fourteen and a fifteen year old. How
- 48:52Speaker 1: is that possible? It's not possible because I'm still thirty, right, Yes, yes,
- 48:56Speaker 1: you absolutely are, and so am I and I a
- 49:00Speaker 1: four year old and one and a half yearl because
- 49:01Speaker 1: that's when I was supposed to do that. That's right,
- 49:04Speaker 1: that's right. Okay, you know what your normal is? Normal?
- 49:07Speaker 1: It's all yeah, everybody's there. I got their own normal.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I suppose it's right. But I always love doing this
- 49:12Speaker 1: with you. I'm so excited. We're gonna be doing this
- 49:14Speaker 1: so much more moving forward over the next few weeks,
- 49:16Speaker 1: over the next few months, it's gonna be a whole
- 49:18Speaker 1: lot more regular. So make sure you're still tuning in
- 49:20Speaker 1: and check it out. Everything we got to to bring
- 49:23Speaker 1: to you, guys, and as always, thanks for joining us here.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Almost thank you, see like, oh jeez,
