- 0:13Speaker 2: handled it already.
- 0:13Speaker 3: We handled it. We handled it already. You're late.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Tell Zach was what the problem was? Though you sounded
- 0:19Speaker 2: like ship.
- 0:20Speaker 1: My housekeeper or my kids. Turned the volume all the
- 0:23Speaker 1: way up to ten.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Oh okay, I'm gonna turn should I turned mine down
- 0:27Speaker 2: to Dan?
- 0:28Speaker 1: That would That's how Donald.
- 0:31Speaker 2: If you're gonna blow out doing an Oprah voice or
- 0:34Speaker 2: just going full Donald, back up.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Good advice right there.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, if you're doing one of your classic Donald
- 0:41Speaker 2: moments that's gonna make you go woozy, you might want

- 0:47Speaker 3: Listen. I'm in no mood to be.
- 0:52Speaker 2: What you're trying to get into a day shoe. What
- 0:56Speaker 2: you're trying to.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Know, let's get into the podcast. How are you men?
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'm good. I got a little headache. I think I
- 1:03Speaker 2: think may have had one glass of wine too many
- 1:07Speaker 2: that led to a what's called a headache.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Donald, Really, I drank a little bit of beer last
- 1:13Speaker 1: night and woke up with a little bit of a
- 1:16Speaker 1: it's gone now, but it was like a little bit
- 1:18Speaker 1: of a stuffy nose, like a little bit of a
- 1:21Speaker 1: running nose. When I drink a lot of hops, Yes,
- 1:24Speaker 1: when that gets it or wheat or whatever that is, Yes,
- 1:27Speaker 1: I get a little bit of a running nose.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I've noticed.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Well, like I drink a little bit too much wine,
- 1:31Speaker 2: I get what's called a headache.
- 1:33Speaker 3: That's because of the sugar. Though I know we need
- 1:36Speaker 3: to drink more water when you drink your wine.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Of course you do, But I like it makes me happy.
- 1:41Speaker 2: By the way, a lot of people were saying they
- 1:43Speaker 2: do want to play the Bengo game. I told you
- 1:46Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I told you.
- 1:48Speaker 2: So let's get some Bengo cards from that or you know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: it would be good, Joelle, if we could get that
- 1:53Speaker 2: guy's thing and then have it be easily downloadable for people.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Oh, I could probably work on that, Yeah, so.
- 2:00Speaker 2: They can play along. We might need.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Different we need different Yeah, we need different Bingo cards.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's I'm trying to tell you.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Well, who's going to do all that manual labor?
- 2:09Speaker 6: Hi fans, If you would like to make Bingo card,
- 2:11Speaker 6: it's available for free.
- 2:14Speaker 5: You would have our never ending gratitude.
- 2:16Speaker 6: We can't pay you, but we could our gratitude and
- 2:19Speaker 6: our love and our respect and a.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Shout out right here on the pod, I will shout
- 2:23Speaker 5: out right.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Not not only that, but if you live in the
- 2:26Speaker 1: United States of America, we will ship to you.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Right So, just you know, if you're in the mood,
- 2:33Speaker 2: if you got the time, make yourself a fake Doctor's
- 2:36Speaker 2: Real Friends Bingo cards so everyone can can play along
- 2:39Speaker 2: and somehow Joel will figure out a way to make
- 2:41Speaker 2: them available.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Yes, we can do that. We can select.
- 2:45Speaker 6: We can select a winner at random. So just making
- 2:48Speaker 6: the card does not guarantee you some GT's kombucha. Just
- 2:51Speaker 6: to clarify, I can.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Pick one of you guys that Joel's doing the small
- 2:54Speaker 2: print now, Joe, I think're supposed to say that like
- 2:55Speaker 2: fast and low, like bank, your card is United States.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It by the way, you are allowed to go to
- 3:07Speaker 2: the UK. Donald you have to just quarantine alone for
- 3:10Speaker 2: fourteen days. It's it's it's the uh because you know
- 3:14Speaker 2: the UK left the EU, so you just can't. We're
- 3:19Speaker 2: not allowed to go to Europe. I got it. Isn't
- 3:23Speaker 2: that so embarrassing? But we're so bad at this that
- 3:26Speaker 2: we've been banned from Europe.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how it goes. Yeah, that's how it goes.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We didn't exactly nail it.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Now we missed. We missed by a lot.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I saw this graph. I saw this graph that showed
- 3:40Speaker 2: the first spike and then it said, uh, it was
- 3:43Speaker 2: labeled naive, and then it showed the second spike, and
- 3:46Speaker 2: it goes stupid like you can call the first spike naive,
- 3:51Speaker 2: but the second spike is just stupidity.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Well, you know, and I'm just talking about this because
- 3:57Speaker 1: it's it's been the whole year so far, the whole year.
- 4:03Speaker 1: But fucking put on a mask, guys, all of this
- 4:06Speaker 1: bullshit about I don't need to wear a mask. Like
- 4:08Speaker 1: I was watching the news and some dude actually said
- 4:11Speaker 1: the same thing that they said in the beginning. Oh,
- 4:14Speaker 1: it's just like the flu. If I get it, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: my body could fight the infection. You know, I'm not
- 4:19Speaker 1: afraid of this thing.
- 4:20Speaker 3: He has no idea, no idea.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Now granted, granted he was coming from Arizona and going
- 4:26Speaker 1: to Florida, the two hotspots in the United States, but still, dude.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I read in Wisconsin they're having a herd immunity festival
- 4:35Speaker 2: where people that want to try and get it are
- 4:38Speaker 2: all going to meet and go to this festival, so
- 4:42Speaker 2: they think that they can get it and create some
- 4:44Speaker 2: sort of herd immunity.
- 4:46Speaker 3: But hasn't heard immunity proven not to work with this virus.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Some people have caught it twice, Yeah, and not in
- 4:53Speaker 2: and I think in Sweden they did a whole experiment
- 4:55Speaker 2: where they weren't going to do it.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Didn't work.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It didn't work, no, and it didn't save them any
- 4:59Speaker 2: dollars for their economy either. It has not been a success.
- 5:04Speaker 2: How are you, Donald fase On? How's you know? The
- 5:06Speaker 2: picture you posted of your daughter in the zach braftewl
- 5:09Speaker 2: really is a beautiful shot. It put a tear to
- 5:12Speaker 2: my eye because she's such a beautiful child and what
- 5:14Speaker 2: a glorious towel. Anyway, how are you? How's life over
- 5:18Speaker 2: at your house? How are things so different?
- 5:19Speaker 4: Man?
- 5:20Speaker 2: You know you're still using the inflatable the kids over
- 5:23Speaker 2: the inflatable thing he bought from the backyard.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they are. So. We started to do a little
- 5:27Speaker 3: bit of golf. So you know.
- 5:28Speaker 2: How I saw that picture of you and your kids
- 5:30Speaker 2: all playing golf.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You know how I love to play golf. So I
- 5:33Speaker 1: took them to the driving range. And my daughter's really
- 5:36Speaker 1: excited about it. She's gung ho about hitting balls with
- 5:41Speaker 1: dad and she you know, she's she's picking it up.
- 5:45Speaker 1: My son, however, would rather play video games. I made
- 5:49Speaker 1: a mistake when I was when I was a few
- 5:52Speaker 1: years ago. Well, last year, I introduced Rocko to video games,
- 5:59Speaker 1: big mistake. Every word out of his mouth now now, granted,
- 6:04Speaker 1: his vocabulary has grown.
- 6:08Speaker 3: By leaps and bounds, but.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Holy cow, man, if I got to hear about, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 1: Minecraft and the inendermen and and and jewels and.
- 6:21Speaker 3: All of that stuff, is.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Minecraft is his favorite?
- 6:24Speaker 3: Well?
- 6:24Speaker 1: No, he has three favorites. Well, now four it's Minecraft, Zelda,
- 6:31Speaker 1: Breath of the Wild. I see, Joel loves Breath of
- 6:35Speaker 1: the Wild.
- 6:36Speaker 5: This is a child of taste.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well yeah, Star Wars battle Front, which is a
- 6:45Speaker 1: first person shooter game but in the Star Wars universe,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and the fourth one it just started happening, and it's
- 6:52Speaker 1: like some I don't I don't remember the name, something
- 6:55Speaker 1: like Castle something I don't know.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Anyway, hold on, rock Out.
- 7:05Speaker 6: We've never gotten a feature from we have one future.
- 7:07Speaker 6: A while ago from Rock.
- 7:09Speaker 5: It's been a minute.
- 7:10Speaker 2: First cameo.
- 7:12Speaker 5: I'm excited to hear what this lastness to. It can't
- 7:17Speaker 5: be Castlevania, that's so violent.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Castle Crashers.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I thought it might be Castle Crashers.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Yeah, wait, I don't know Castle Crashers. What is this?
- 7:25Speaker 4: Four player co op? Very like low polygraphics. It's really fun.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Yes, a living room game. I love it.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It's a living room game.
- 7:33Speaker 3: A game that everybody can play.
- 7:35Speaker 4: A game you can play on your couch.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Everybody can play.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody in your house can sit on the couch
- 7:40Speaker 1: and play a game.
- 7:41Speaker 3: The game.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Whereas Minecraft, you could play it with four players, but
- 7:44Speaker 1: that's just tough.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Or two players, I'm not sure. But uh, and I.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Just got an Xbox One, So I think I'm gonna
- 7:51Speaker 2: try and get into you.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Get Castle Crashers if you're into if you know what
- 7:55Speaker 1: you really listen, I know we the Switch, Get that dude,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and get Zelda Breath of the Wild.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Well, that's what he's playing on Switch.
- 8:05Speaker 1: That's the one game he plays on Switch, and that
- 8:08Speaker 1: that game alone is worth buying the Switch for.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Okay, period. Well, I just got Xbox because I feel
- 8:16Speaker 2: like I've reached the point in Quarantine where I'm gonna
- 8:19Speaker 2: have to start doing some new stuff and get the switch. Dude,
- 8:22Speaker 2: get into a video game.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Get the switch, and get Zelda. I'm telling you right now,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm suitching. Get Zelda Breath of the Wild.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I just got an Xbox One. I'm sure I can
- 8:28Speaker 2: find a game to play an Xbox One. Why are
- 8:30Speaker 2: you telling me to get a whole different system?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Because this I'm telling you right now, dude, if you
- 8:34Speaker 1: want to play a game that's going to occupy your
- 8:37Speaker 1: time and make your brain, do you know, think and stuff?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Zelda Breath of the Wild? Am I wrong? Guys? Please
- 8:45Speaker 3: if I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong.
- 8:47Speaker 4: You're certainly not wrong. It's a great game. There's also
- 8:49Speaker 4: great games for I will.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Now go I return the Xbox One because I cannot
- 8:57Speaker 2: think of a game that I might like on Xbox One.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Son to games and I like on Xbox One.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I could think a game the back Pedal.
- 9:04Speaker 5: I don't know what type of gamers that is, Like, what.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Do you like in your video video games?
- 9:09Speaker 2: I don't really play, but when we were making the
- 9:11Speaker 2: TV show Scrubs, I would get into games, and the
- 9:15Speaker 2: last game I remember being really into was Hitman.
- 9:18Speaker 7: The first one, the first one, okay, all right, liked
- 9:23Speaker 7: it because for me it was I liked the idea
- 9:26Speaker 7: of like having to play a character and like go
- 9:29Speaker 7: undercover and and like you'd feel your heart beating when
- 9:33Speaker 7: they were starting to figure you out.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And I really I really like that. I would.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we finished that game. I finished that game, that's how.
- 9:40Speaker 2: But there's another one. There's been a second one that
- 9:43Speaker 2: apparently is really good that I never played.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Third one on the way.
- 9:46Speaker 2: There's a third one on the way, so I think
- 9:49Speaker 2: I might. I don't know what do you call that
- 9:51Speaker 2: kind of game?
- 9:51Speaker 5: That's what I like totally.
- 9:53Speaker 6: I feel like you might be like an Elder Scrolls
- 9:55Speaker 6: or like a sky Rim kind of guy.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I don't like too much wizardy shit.
- 9:59Speaker 5: When people red Elder Scrolls, get the f out of here.
- 10:03Speaker 2: When people start like g t A, like g t
- 10:06Speaker 2: A I, when people start throwing like wizard spells, I'm out.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I don't like that. I like reality. I started to
- 10:13Speaker 2: like that one. The Spider Man kid is playing uncharged. No, no, no, uncharged, uncharged.
- 10:20Speaker 4: That's a good, great game series.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I only problem it's for the PlayStation, so you
- 10:25Speaker 1: can't get it on Xbox.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Sorry. Also, there is a wild West one that's kind
- 10:31Speaker 2: of a redemption.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Yes, yes, it's super worth. They get the second one
- 10:36Speaker 8: Red Dead Redemption to throw it out their Assassin's Creed
- 10:40Speaker 8: because I don't like that.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I don't like those games.
- 10:43Speaker 4: WOA.
- 10:46Speaker 8: It's very similar to Hitman, very similar video game form.
- 10:50Speaker 5: It is very similar.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I just find it. It's weird that I don't. I don't.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I just don't like the game. I don't know, that's just.
- 10:55Speaker 4: That's totally funny, totally.
- 10:56Speaker 6: Also, when Cyber seventy seven comes out, Zach, I feel
- 10:59Speaker 6: like you really enjoy that game because you could create
- 11:02Speaker 6: every aspect and I mean every aspect of your character,
- 11:06Speaker 6: and then your choices determine the storyline. So there's not
- 11:09Speaker 6: one linear storyline that every player will have. It's entirely
- 11:12Speaker 6: based on your choices throughout the game. It's supposed to
- 11:15Speaker 6: be really good. I'm very excited about it.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I tried to get into GTA Donald because you were
- 11:18Speaker 2: obsessed with it while we did Scrubs. But I just
- 11:20Speaker 2: find it. I find it. I find it boring after
- 11:22Speaker 2: a while.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Well, then you might not like Red Dead redemption too,
- 11:25Speaker 1: then if that's the way, because it's the same it's
- 11:27Speaker 1: kind of the same thing as gtaemption was, like going around.
- 11:34Speaker 3: We're about to get into our first fight.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Let's talk about this because every game but I'm like,
- 11:38Speaker 1: this shit is dope. You're like, yeah, right, and then
- 11:41Speaker 1: every game that you're like, this shit is dope, I'm like,
- 11:43Speaker 1: that shit sucks.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Let's get into should No, we probably shouldn't because we
- 11:47Speaker 2: should segue off video games because there might be listeners
- 11:50Speaker 2: who are already bored as fun about us talking about
- 11:52Speaker 2: video games.
- 11:53Speaker 4: We can do this later.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, think I should do a video game podcast.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:58Speaker 2: By the way, I saw a lot of a chatter
- 12:00Speaker 2: about people really wanting a Donald Joelle Star Wars podcast,
- 12:05Speaker 2: So I think you guys need a side hustle.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna agree with a starting Star Wars.
- 12:11Speaker 2: You guys can just go off I want. You won't
- 12:13Speaker 2: get stopped by me. You won't have me going I'm
- 12:15Speaker 2: so bored. You guys can geek out about Star Wars.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Forever wants to do a Star Wars podcast.
- 12:25Speaker 3: We're down to be the hosts of it, aren't we.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Joel absolutely absolutely, especially, I think Between the two of us,
- 12:31Speaker 6: we probably know everybody who's either involved in like the
- 12:35Speaker 6: creation and or talking about I know the talking heads
- 12:39Speaker 6: from like star Wars dot com and you know people
- 12:42Speaker 6: like that's be funny to do like interviews and talk
- 12:43Speaker 6: about our favorite character.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I can get you Deborah Chow, who directed a bunch
- 12:47Speaker 2: of the Mandalorians and is directing the new OBI one series.
- 12:51Speaker 5: Can I tell you? I will sob openly. I'm so
- 12:53Speaker 5: obsessed with Deborah.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, get you your first mega guest, Deborah
- 12:58Speaker 2: cho That would be.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Our first episode.
- 13:00Speaker 5: All right, let me bring it to the higher up.
- 13:02Speaker 5: We'll discuss.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I'm want to I want to cut, and I want
- 13:06Speaker 2: to and I want to occasionally come on and be
- 13:08Speaker 2: like this is so boring.
- 13:13Speaker 1: You'll never We'll never have you on the podcast.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Do you want to fucking count us in? Donald, Let's
- 13:19Speaker 2: fucking start to.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Count us in.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But I also want to talk about the fact that
- 13:24Speaker 1: our neighbor in New York City when we lived in
- 13:27Speaker 1: New York.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, went to Twitter, Amy Tan went to somebody hit.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Her up and said is this story true? And she
- 13:34Speaker 2: was like, I don't know, I don't know.
- 13:35Speaker 1: She was like, I don't ever recall writing a letter
- 13:38Speaker 1: to anyone, But I've had several people live sublet the place.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So can you tell me the year? And I'm going
- 13:46Speaker 3: to tell her the year.
- 13:46Speaker 2: It would have been summer of two thousand and two, right.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Either two thousand and two or two thousand. Well, we
- 13:52Speaker 1: came out two thousand and one.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah, the she came on in one, so it would
- 13:55Speaker 2: have been summer.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Of summer two thousand and two. Summer.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It was the it was the loft and soho and
- 13:59Speaker 2: it was the one right above your loft, miss Tan,
- 14:03Speaker 2: And we apologized. We were young, and we were partying
- 14:05Speaker 2: and we were loud.
- 14:06Speaker 9: And if it wasn't you, well we were told it
- 14:09Speaker 9: was you, and we definitely got a letter that we
- 14:11Speaker 9: assumed was from you, and then we also got told
- 14:15Speaker 9: we also got told by whoever we rented from that we.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Needed to shut the fuck up, yeah and keep it.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And they kept our deposit too. I wrote a very
- 14:26Speaker 2: angry letter about them keeping our deposit.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I do remember that as well.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was like, this is some bs, because
- 14:34Speaker 2: we you know, the place had some problems. We loved it,
- 14:36Speaker 2: but it had some problems. Yeah, if you ever rent
- 14:40Speaker 2: a place and it's got all these problems, but you
- 14:42Speaker 2: kind of suck it up and you're like whatever. Then
- 14:45Speaker 2: they try and keep your deposit. You're like whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 14:47Speaker 9: Whoa this way saying all that, now, talk about the
- 14:50Speaker 9: fucking thirty five things.
- 14:52Speaker 2: We looked and looked out the other way from like right,
- 14:55Speaker 2: you know, like air conditioning.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Right, Oh, it was so hot, like the.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Fact that Donald didn't have a room, and and started
- 15:01Speaker 2: calling himself Benson.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Anyway, Six Night Stories, You're not show.
- 15:09Speaker 2: We made about a bunch of dogs and nurses.
- 15:13Speaker 10: And said, here's the stories.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeada here, yea here.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I love you. Your beard's looking nice, by the way,
- 15:32Speaker 2: it's getting thrown and there's no gray in that thing.
- 15:35Speaker 3: There's a lot of gray in it. Is just really
- 15:37Speaker 3: I don't want to see it. Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 2: If I grow a beard now, it's too it's too gray.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't like it. I feel that you have a
- 15:41Speaker 2: lot of gray. Yeah, it makes me look too old.
- 15:43Speaker 2: So I don't really do it anymore. Although I was
- 15:45Speaker 2: seeing on the interwebs they have this this uh die
- 15:48Speaker 2: you can put in your beard.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, but then like if you put your face on
- 15:52Speaker 1: a pillow and the pillows white.
- 15:54Speaker 3: You gotta die all on the pillow.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I don't think it comes off. Really it comes off?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Hell yeah, man, oh you've tried it.
- 16:03Speaker 3: No, I just think it comes off.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Let's make up though. I think the die is more
- 16:07Speaker 2: is more permanent.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Heather Locklear is in this episode. Donald, Oh, are you
- 16:11Speaker 2: gonna sum it up for us?
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah? I am gonna sum it up for Okay.
- 16:15Speaker 2: This is a good episode, very funny and uh. Heather
- 16:20Speaker 2: Lockleyer is the guest star. I think she does two episodes. Yes,
- 16:24Speaker 2: and she she gets the classic gorgeous woman entrance and
- 16:29Speaker 2: scrubs where she comes in the hallway and slow motion
- 16:33Speaker 2: with the fan and uh, and she looks marvelous. But
- 16:37Speaker 2: let's first hear a summary. Let me get my Stopwatch ready.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you guys. This summary
- 16:42Speaker 1: is really quick.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Well, then you're gonna beat thirty seconds.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I guess I'm gonna definitely beat thirty seconds this time around.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Okay, Well, let's you know, don't go because.
- 16:50Speaker 1: This episode had so many things in it, but it
- 16:52Speaker 1: all boils down to one thing.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Okay, stop Watch, wait, but one second, I don't want
- 16:56Speaker 2: you to get too cocky with your summaries. You have
- 16:58Speaker 2: to really have.
- 16:58Speaker 1: To stop watch ready and go all right, see this
- 17:02Speaker 1: episode It all boils down to one thing when you
- 17:06Speaker 1: really think about it. This episode's all about taking chances
- 17:11Speaker 1: and the positive things that can happen when you exit
- 17:14Speaker 1: your comfort zone. And it takes Elliott, J D, Carla
- 17:18Speaker 1: and doctor Cox this whole episode to realize good things.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Can happen when you step out of your comfort zone.
- 17:25Speaker 2: That was very good. You know, I noticed you slowed down,
- 17:28Speaker 2: so you were trying to make it fill the thirty seconds, right.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You know you spoke at a very leisurely pace.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Because this time there's not because there's feeling.
- 17:37Speaker 2: The only thing you wanted to say was this episode's
- 17:39Speaker 2: about taking chances. So you were like, go, this episode
- 17:45Speaker 2: is about one thing.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I got very I.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Got very Bill Shatner with it, huh, this episode episode
- 17:53Speaker 1: it's about.
- 17:56Speaker 2: You know, do you remember remember when Chatner went on
- 17:58Speaker 2: SNL and he was playing himself at a convention. At
- 18:01Speaker 2: a convention, John Love, it is like, yes, I have
- 18:04Speaker 2: a question in an episode three two seven, what is
- 18:08Speaker 2: the combination of the safe And he goes, look, I
- 18:11Speaker 2: just have to say one thing coming to all these
- 18:13Speaker 2: conventions and I get all your letters and your fan mail. Life,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I just have to say, get a life. He goes,
- 18:26Speaker 2: it was a show. We did it years ago.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Great, remember that great, great episode, and I remember.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'm wondering he must have gotten a lot of backlash
- 18:35Speaker 2: from like the mart dude he is Listen.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I've I've met William Shatner quite a few times, and
- 18:41Speaker 1: he is a lovely man. He is very funny and
- 18:46Speaker 1: does not take the Star Trek fandom serious like that
- 18:51Speaker 1: seriously like that, like he's for real, like on some
- 18:54Speaker 1: I played this role. I love the fact that everybody
- 18:58Speaker 1: loves it, but that doesn't necessarily define who I am.
- 19:01Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Really so, but so how are they? I wonder how
- 19:05Speaker 2: those mega fans are with him, because a lot of
- 19:07Speaker 2: people who are in megafandom pieces of content understandably and
- 19:12Speaker 2: rightfully so embrace the fan base and and and do
- 19:15Speaker 2: whatever they want.
- 19:16Speaker 1: And he embraces it completely. He embraces it, and he
- 19:18Speaker 1: doesn't come to him.
- 19:19Speaker 2: He doesn't roll his eyes about it, or.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I don't know that he rolls his eyes about it.
- 19:23Speaker 1: And I don't know how he is with his fans.
- 19:27Speaker 1: But when you talk to him about it, yeah, he's
- 19:29Speaker 1: well aware. I was in Star Trek and it was
- 19:32Speaker 1: a very popular show, and I, you know, I crushed it.
- 19:35Speaker 1: That being said, you know he's a TJ Hooker with
- 19:40Speaker 1: the Locker.
- 19:42Speaker 2: By the way, we look at what good hosts we are,
- 19:44Speaker 2: we're circling back to t J Hooker with uh with
- 19:47Speaker 2: Shattner and have the lock have their Lockleayer. What an
- 19:49Speaker 2: odd name for a show, TJ Hooker. For those of
- 19:52Speaker 2: you who don't know, it was not about a hooker.
- 19:54Speaker 2: It was about a cop, a cop, the bunch of cops.
- 19:58Speaker 2: They were partners, right. I never saw an episode.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I think she was on it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I think she This is how dope Heather Lockleier. She
- 20:04Speaker 1: had such a long career, Oh my god, back in
- 20:06Speaker 1: the day. I think she was on two hit shows
- 20:08Speaker 1: at one time. And I don't know if they were
- 20:11Speaker 1: on the same network, but I know she was doing
- 20:13Speaker 1: two shows at one time and both of them were hits,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and she was ratings gold well.
- 20:18Speaker 2: She was on Dynasty, right, and she was on Melrose
- 20:20Speaker 2: Place obviously.
- 20:22Speaker 3: And she was on TJ Hooker.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I don't know if it just seemed like if you
- 20:28Speaker 1: wanted a ratings bump and you needed some you needed
- 20:33Speaker 1: to bring the ratings up. You bring Heather Lockleer into
- 20:36Speaker 1: the into the fold, and she just works wonders on.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Well. She certainly is a very pretty human being, and
- 20:44Speaker 2: I think she's.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Also very very, very funny and talented.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Man, it wasn't it was.
- 20:49Speaker 2: She was on City, she was on Bill's show Spin City.
- 20:52Speaker 1: It was also it's like the perfect storm of you know,
- 20:56Speaker 1: of talent. She's very beautiful, she's very fund So you.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Know she's coming on the program, right Joelle.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Yes, we have her scheduled for the next episodes episode.
- 21:09Speaker 2: The next episode, we're having her on Donald. How fancy
- 21:11Speaker 2: is that?
- 21:12Speaker 3: I love this.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I mean I think I don't want to I don't
- 21:14Speaker 2: want to let the fans down. I mean, you know,
- 21:16Speaker 2: you never know what can happen in in the in
- 21:18Speaker 2: the fast paced moving world of podcast booking guests. But uh,
- 21:22Speaker 2: so far, so far, we have her.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I'm very excited about it.
- 21:27Speaker 2: She's she's I just wanted to say, and she's she's
- 21:30Speaker 2: had such an interesting life. We gotta we gotta ask her,
- 21:33Speaker 2: we gotta we gotta go deep with Heather.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Are you gonna go. Are we gonna go deep? Are
- 21:36Speaker 1: we gonna go Are we gonna go deep?
- 21:38Speaker 3: Deep? Deep? Undercover? Like Eddie Murphy and Beverly Hills cap too.
- 21:41Speaker 2: No, I'm not trying to like ask her personal questions,
- 21:44Speaker 2: but I mean she's just had some can.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Say, ask a personal question? Are we trying to go deep? Deep?
- 21:48Speaker 2: Deep?
- 21:48Speaker 3: Married?
- 21:49Speaker 2: She she likes Rocker. She was married to Tommy Lee.
- 21:51Speaker 2: She was married to Richie Sambora. Oh. She she had
- 21:54Speaker 2: a relationship with Jack Wagner, my sister. May she rest
- 21:59Speaker 2: in peace? And did she have a crush on Jack Wagner?
- 22:01Speaker 2: You know who that is? Donald? Yeah, he's a great
- 22:04Speaker 2: golfer Jack Wagner. No, but he's an actor.
- 22:08Speaker 1: No, I know he's an actor, but he's also one
- 22:10Speaker 1: of the best celebrity golfers.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I think he also sings too. I think my sister
- 22:14Speaker 2: used to love him so much. She used to listen
- 22:16Speaker 2: to his music. Okay, No, I've got her things up here.
- 22:19Speaker 2: She's gosh, she's been on so many shows. Her first job,
- 22:24Speaker 2: it looks like, was on Chips as a teenager, Wow
- 22:28Speaker 2: and TJ Hooker Dynasty, a show called Going Places, Melrose Place,
- 22:37Speaker 2: Spins City. She was on a show called Lax in
- 22:42Speaker 2: two thousand and fourty five, the melrose Place Reunion. Jeez,
- 22:48Speaker 2: she works a lot.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Well, it's hell Loclia. Dude.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Hey, she was in Uptown Girls. Yeah, wow, I mean,
- 22:55Speaker 2: just to just to show the audience how well we're
- 22:57Speaker 2: dovetailing all this together. Uptown Girls is the movie Donald
- 23:01Speaker 2: made when we were in New York, when Amy Tan
- 23:04Speaker 2: got mad at us.
- 23:05Speaker 3: That's exactly this is. This is turning out to be.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Wow, it's almost like we planned it all.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It's it does seem like it's like our fans right now,
- 23:16Speaker 1: the people listening to this podcast right now are like,
- 23:18Speaker 1: they're making this up, but we're not all true.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's as though Donald. So anyway, we're gonna ask
- 23:23Speaker 2: her about some of that. We gotta I mean, I
- 23:25Speaker 2: don't I don't know what. We're gonna ask her about everything.
- 23:27Speaker 2: We're gona asking about Shatner. We're gonna ask about melrose Place.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Did you ever watch melrose Place?
- 23:33Speaker 3: I mean I did not.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't really aimed at us.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I don't think no.
- 23:37Speaker 2: But yeah, Andrew Shoe went to my high school. He
- 23:41Speaker 2: was a very good soccer.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Nobody cares.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Zach I'm just telling you Andrew Shoe and and you
- 23:51Speaker 2: know who his sister.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Is, Elizabeth Shoe.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yeah, both went to Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Now let me get this straight. Elizabeth Shoe Adventures in
- 24:00Speaker 1: baby sitting Elizabeth Shoe. Yeah, she and my wife kind
- 24:04Speaker 1: of look alike.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, they have the similar hair and similar chins too.
- 24:11Speaker 2: You know who else went to my high school?
- 24:13Speaker 3: No, Lauren Hill.
- 24:14Speaker 11: Lauren Hill drumming my peg with his finger, singing in
- 24:22Speaker 11: my life with his words.
- 24:26Speaker 12: Killing me softly with his song, killing me softly with
- 24:33Speaker 12: his song, telling my whole life with his words, killing
- 24:39Speaker 12: me softly.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I love her miseducation of Lauren Hill so much.
- 24:44Speaker 3: With his song.
- 24:54Speaker 1: That's that's you wouldn't know that, but that's trump call
- 24:56Speaker 1: quest right there.
- 24:58Speaker 2: But that was the Fuji. That song was off the
- 25:01Speaker 2: Fuji's album. And but her solo album I loved so much.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah that that record is one of the best records
- 25:08Speaker 1: ive ever made.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I think I might agree with you to this day.
- 25:12Speaker 2: She was at my bar Mitzvah and you know, we
- 25:17Speaker 2: play a game at bar Mitzvah's. Well, at least the
- 25:19Speaker 2: kids used to called coke and pepsi. And it's like
- 25:21Speaker 2: a dance floor game, like you're on one side and
- 25:24Speaker 2: your partners on the other end your coke and your
- 25:26Speaker 2: partner's pepsi. And if they go coke, all the all
- 25:29Speaker 2: the kids run over and they sit on your on
- 25:31Speaker 2: your knee and they go pepsi and it's it's kind
- 25:34Speaker 2: of like a musical chairs thing. The last person there
- 25:36Speaker 2: is kicked off, kicked off, kicked off until there's only
- 25:38Speaker 2: two left standing. Well, Lauren Hill was my coke and
- 25:42Speaker 2: pepsi partner at my bar mitzvah. And that's the extent
- 25:46Speaker 2: of the anecdote.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Did you guys win?
- 25:49Speaker 2: I don't think we want no Well, because I invited
- 25:52Speaker 2: some jocks to my bar mitzvah, and I think they
- 25:53Speaker 2: got really serious about it. And you know they were
- 25:56Speaker 2: Lauren and I were like the two actors, you know,
- 25:58Speaker 2: joking around. We weren't like really trying to win coke
- 26:01Speaker 2: and pepsi?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Got it?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Can you tell me what song you walked out to
- 26:06Speaker 1: for your bar mitzvah and and and how you and
- 26:08Speaker 1: and the high stepping that you did.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So what happened was I entered my bar mitzvah. So
- 26:14Speaker 2: what they said, Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I love it though, it's so embarrassing. But you know what,
- 26:19Speaker 2: no one's listening.
- 26:21Speaker 3: It's just it's just horribles.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So the theme was musical theater. Hell yes, so you know,
- 26:29Speaker 2: for those of you who don't know, back in the day,
- 26:31Speaker 2: I don't know if kids do the same, Moore, but
- 26:32Speaker 2: back in the day, you're bar mitzvah had to have
- 26:34Speaker 2: like a theme, and often kids would choose their sport
- 26:37Speaker 2: because that's what you know. My theme is soccer, and
- 26:39Speaker 2: like the centerpieces would be soccer balls and the cake
- 26:42Speaker 2: would look like a soccer ball, and it was just
- 26:43Speaker 2: you know that kind of thing. And uh so my
- 26:46Speaker 2: theme is musical theater. And the the company that planned
- 26:51Speaker 2: the party hired actors to dress up as famous characters
- 26:57Speaker 2: from the music from different musicals, Like one guy was
- 27:00Speaker 2: dressed as like a cat from Cats, when Gal was
- 27:03Speaker 2: dressed as someone in Sunday in the Park with George
- 27:05Speaker 2: with like a parasol. Someone was dressed as like lame
- 27:08Speaker 2: is you know, someone on a barricade kind of thing.
- 27:11Speaker 2: And and then so as I so, as I walked
- 27:15Speaker 2: into the room, these people were standing as centerpieces in
- 27:20Speaker 2: the middle of the tables, frozen as robots, and as
- 27:23Speaker 2: I walked into the room, they band struck up Let's
- 27:27Speaker 2: hear it for the Boy, and then the centerpieces all
- 27:31Speaker 2: started moving at like robolike like robotic figures to the
- 27:36Speaker 2: rhythm of let's hear it for the.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Boy, and you high stepped into the and you high
- 27:41Speaker 1: stepped into your bock metzvah.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yes, let's hear it for the boy, and the crowd
- 27:45Speaker 2: went wild, and I and all the different robotic people
- 27:51Speaker 2: moved like robots to let's hear it for the boy.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Maybe he's no Romeo, but he's.
- 27:57Speaker 2: My love and one man show Ooo.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Whoo, Let's hear it for the boy.
- 28:04Speaker 2: And I remember that my friend, I remember that, my
- 28:08Speaker 2: friend Don Boom, my friend Roger Heller. He noticed that
- 28:13Speaker 2: the guy playing in one of the cats from Musical
- 28:17Speaker 2: Cats was distracted doing his robot dance till let's hear
- 28:20Speaker 2: for the boy, And so he took his spoon and
- 28:23Speaker 2: he tied the guy's tail around a bunch a bunch
- 28:28Speaker 2: of a bunch of silverware. So when the poor guy
- 28:32Speaker 2: when the number was over, and the guy was like
- 28:35Speaker 2: taking his bow and got down off the table. He
- 28:38Speaker 2: was clanking silver that Roger had tied to his tail,
- 28:44Speaker 2: like like a like a car that had cans tied
- 28:47Speaker 2: to it. Just married. Oh my god, oh my god,
- 28:54Speaker 2: it was so embarrassing.
- 28:55Speaker 3: That's hilarious. Let's take a break.
- 28:57Speaker 2: We'll be right back after these fine words.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Let's get into the episode, all right.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Heather Locklear comes in. Now. I don't know if you
- 29:10Speaker 2: know this, Donald, or if our listeners know this, but
- 29:13Speaker 2: I find that not everyone knows this. This is a
- 29:15Speaker 2: real thing that the pharmacuy. Absolutely they send out. They're
- 29:19Speaker 2: often beautiful women, so I assume handsome men as well,
- 29:23Speaker 2: but more often than not, they're beautiful women. And their
- 29:26Speaker 2: job is to convince doctors to prescribe their drug, and
- 29:33Speaker 2: they'll they still do tons of shady stuff. I think
- 29:36Speaker 2: some of it's been attempted to be curbs because it
- 29:39Speaker 2: was out of control. I knew girls in my high
- 29:41Speaker 2: school that would do this right out of high school,
- 29:42Speaker 2: like their first job or right out of college. Their
- 29:44Speaker 2: first job was going to do this. And you and
- 29:47Speaker 2: if you're ever in a doctor's office and you see
- 29:49Speaker 2: someone come in and they're all kind of dolled up
- 29:51Speaker 2: and they're pulling a little roly bag that's often a
- 29:55Speaker 2: pharmaceutical rep and you'll be frustrated when you see them
- 29:57Speaker 2: go in the office before you and you're like, oh,
- 29:59Speaker 2: I've been waiting here and now I have to wait
- 30:01Speaker 2: for her to go schmooze the doctor. And they always have.
- 30:04Speaker 2: That's why the doctor always has all this swag that
- 30:07Speaker 2: we joke about in the episode and the tea shirts,
- 30:09Speaker 2: but that's the least of it. They keep track of
- 30:12Speaker 2: how much the doctor is prescribing the drug, and if
- 30:15Speaker 2: you prescribe it a certain amount, they like can win
- 30:18Speaker 2: vacations and trips, and they take them to lunch and
- 30:22Speaker 2: they buy them expensive just like this dinner that's in
- 30:24Speaker 2: this episode, and they they schmooze the nurses too, so
- 30:28Speaker 2: they like, oh, I brought sushi, I brought cupcakes, and
- 30:32Speaker 2: it's all this like it's like, Paola, it's like this
- 30:34Speaker 2: super shady aspect of the pharmaceutical world. Not that there
- 30:38Speaker 2: needs to be more shady aspects, but it's something that
- 30:42Speaker 2: really really happens, and it's really really fucked up, I
- 30:45Speaker 2: think because they're basically like incentivizing the doctors to prescribe
- 30:51Speaker 2: their drug or recommend it right.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Well.
- 30:55Speaker 1: In this episode, this drug that she's pushing actually works
- 30:58Speaker 1: very well. The only problem that Cox has with it
- 31:01Speaker 1: is that they've marked it up so high. It's sort
- 31:03Speaker 1: of like epipins. Epipins work great everybody. If you have
- 31:09Speaker 1: allergies to anything and you can and you go into
- 31:11Speaker 1: anaphylactic shock because of your allergies or because of said allergies,
- 31:16Speaker 1: an EpiPen can help save your life. The problem with
- 31:21Speaker 1: EpiPens are they're so expensive, and even the generic brand
- 31:27Speaker 1: is so expensive and very hard to come by.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, of course, and the marking up of
- 31:33Speaker 2: drugs is a whole other thing. You can That's why
- 31:36Speaker 2: people drive across the border to go to Canada where
- 31:38Speaker 2: they don't mark the drugs up like that. And I
- 31:40Speaker 2: mean they have, like literally have bus trips where they'll
- 31:44Speaker 2: where a bunch of seniors will get on a bus
- 31:47Speaker 2: and go to Canada to buy their drugs for a
- 31:49Speaker 2: more affordable price and then come back to this country.
- 31:52Speaker 2: But let's not go around a giant tangent like that,
- 31:55Speaker 2: because we can make a whole podcast about how fucked
- 31:57Speaker 2: up that shit is. But anyway, this app episode is
- 32:00Speaker 2: about a pharmaceutical rep coming to bribe everyone with pens
- 32:04Speaker 2: and swag and free steak.
- 32:07Speaker 3: All sexiness and sexiness and.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Of course sexiness, which is something that is a part
- 32:12Speaker 2: of it. I mean, I imagine in my brain some
- 32:15Speaker 2: of this has been curbed. But back in the day,
- 32:17Speaker 2: it was all about like flirting. I mean, all the
- 32:19Speaker 2: girls that I knew that did this were attractive women,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and they would say, yeah, part of it is like,
- 32:25Speaker 2: you know, gentle flirting to get the doctors to uh,
- 32:29Speaker 2: to prescribe their drugs. And then they would have this
- 32:32Speaker 2: girl once showed me. She's like, you don't believe the
- 32:34Speaker 2: data we have on these on these doctors, like what
- 32:36Speaker 2: they're prescribing, how many times they prescribed our drug when
- 32:39Speaker 2: they didn't prescribe our drug and uh, and they get
- 32:42Speaker 2: her they do all this sort of shady stuff, like
- 32:45Speaker 2: they put them certain doctors on retainer. Oh, you're a
- 32:48Speaker 2: consultant with our pharmaceutical company, which is basically just fucking
- 32:52Speaker 2: shady Paola, to make sure they're prescribing it. And when
- 32:56Speaker 2: it's not a when it's not an addictive drug, it's like, okay,
- 32:59Speaker 2: that's one little shady now cut to it when it's
- 33:01Speaker 2: an opioid and they're fucking prescribing oxy conton and making
- 33:04Speaker 2: everyone addicts. I highly recommend this book called Dope Sick
- 33:08Speaker 2: if you want to read about this. It's about how
- 33:11Speaker 2: the pharmacy industry, particularly Purdue Pharma, got into basically turning
- 33:17Speaker 2: in so many people into opioid addicts because of the
- 33:21Speaker 2: over prescription of oxyconton. And I just finished this book
- 33:24Speaker 2: and it's amazing, and I think Michael Keaton is going
- 33:26Speaker 2: to make it into a mini series. But don't wait
- 33:30Speaker 2: for that. Read the book Dope Sick.
- 33:32Speaker 1: The episode starts off with people getting hurt. This kid's
- 33:35Speaker 1: gotten hurt, got hurt, and you watched him get hurt
- 33:38Speaker 1: on video.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Yes, I gotta be honest with you.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I watch a lot of crazy shit because I enjoy
- 33:43Speaker 1: watching people get hurt. But then it turns, it turns,
- 33:47Speaker 1: you know sometimes like sometimes it's like, wow, that was funny.
- 33:50Speaker 1: He fell and hurt himself, he busted his ass. But
- 33:52Speaker 1: then the things that you can see on the internet
- 33:55Speaker 1: on like Instagram, now some of these things you're like,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I don't want to watch that, you know what I mean?
- 34:00Speaker 3: This is harmless. Him crushing his nuts on a rail.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Do you do you WinCE when you watch someone get
- 34:06Speaker 2: their nuts hurt?
- 34:06Speaker 1: I feel a pain in my in my in my
- 34:08Speaker 1: in my genitals. Whenever I see anyone get hurt. It's
- 34:11Speaker 1: like a It's a quick pain.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I don't know if women understand this, And not to
- 34:16Speaker 2: say that it doesn't hurt when they hurt their groins,
- 34:18Speaker 2: but but men have a physical just reaction when you
- 34:23Speaker 2: see someone hurt their nuts where you you kind I
- 34:26Speaker 2: kind of grab mine if I'm alone and I'm allowed to,
- 34:29Speaker 2: and just make sure that they're okay.
- 34:31Speaker 1: No, I I have this happens to me if I
- 34:33Speaker 1: see anyone get hurt. Ever, dude, ever, if anyone I'm.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Talking particularly a testicle moment like this at Tennis episode
- 34:40Speaker 2: he's he lands on a on a railing's skateboarding and
- 34:44Speaker 2: he lands on the railing on his nuts.
- 34:46Speaker 3: It depends on how to watch.
- 34:48Speaker 1: It depends on how unsuspected it is, you know what
- 34:51Speaker 1: I mean, Like we knew watching this that the kid's
- 34:53Speaker 1: gonna crush his nuts, so I didn't necessarily flinch as
- 34:57Speaker 1: hard as if I were watching something and out of nowhere,
- 35:00Speaker 1: somebody gets pummeled in the in the in the balls.
- 35:03Speaker 1: That's when I'm like, oh my god, and I and
- 35:06Speaker 1: I flinch and I feel that sharp pain in my
- 35:09Speaker 1: testes from it.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I I I crutched. I clutched my balls.
- 35:13Speaker 2: When I saw this kid fall over and over and over.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Again, I thought that she was hilarious.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Now when she walks in and does her slow motion
- 35:20Speaker 2: sexy walking, you cut to a fantasy and it's me
- 35:24Speaker 2: and Deontay Gordon, who's Donald stand and who's often in
- 35:27Speaker 2: the background, is next to me, and he's wearing puka shells.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Did you notice that I did. Do you remember when
- 35:33Speaker 3: Deontay used to wear poka shells?
- 35:35Speaker 2: No, but that's hilarious. I mean, I haven't seen someone
- 35:38Speaker 2: wear pooka shells since I was a child, and I
- 35:40Speaker 2: didn't really notice that Deontay was walking around the scrub
- 35:42Speaker 2: set we're wearing puka shells.
- 35:43Speaker 3: This was also twenty years ago, Bud, but.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Still pooka shells were not in in two thousand and two.
- 35:49Speaker 3: I'm sure they were, because no, they were not.
- 35:52Speaker 2: No. I think it is like.
- 35:53Speaker 3: A choker too. It's not like it's choking him.
- 35:57Speaker 2: It's like you know what you know, like the women
- 35:58Speaker 2: have this style a few years ago where they're all
- 36:01Speaker 2: wearing the tight chokers around their neck.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah, what was the purpose of that? Can we what was?
- 36:05Speaker 2: What was?
- 36:06Speaker 5: Hookers look awesome? There's no they look awesome.
- 36:10Speaker 6: All the time in Victorian times when they were hitting
- 36:12Speaker 6: in the eighties and the nineties.
- 36:14Speaker 5: Now chokers, I don't know.
- 36:16Speaker 3: It just looks weird to have a black ribbon around
- 36:19Speaker 3: your neck.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Are you ready to fall off? Take them off?
- 36:23Speaker 2: Well they're gone again, Joel. Right, the fad was strong
- 36:26Speaker 2: for a couple of years. Now I feel like it's
- 36:27Speaker 2: gone again.
- 36:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 6: The punk princesses are colder on strong. I love them
- 36:32Speaker 6: rock on girls. Uh yeah, not seeing it on like
- 36:35Speaker 6: Vogue anymore or anything like that though.
- 36:37Speaker 13: No.
- 36:37Speaker 6: And I would say Poka Shells, yes, early two thousands
- 36:40Speaker 6: because the OC was around and those.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Oh maybe Deontay was inspired by the OC.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Deontays from California. Deontay went to school in OC type
- 36:53Speaker 1: of high school entire situation. Yeah, man, so he wanted
- 36:57Speaker 1: to be and then he went to I think Deontay
- 36:59Speaker 1: went to like uc Anna Barbera or something like that.
- 37:01Speaker 1: One of the party schools. You see one of those
- 37:03Speaker 1: you see party schools.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Well, all I know is it's a very funny sight
- 37:08Speaker 2: watching Deontay wearing a Pukas Shell choker.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Yeah, hilarious. And then the corpse sitting up because of
- 37:15Speaker 3: how hot Heather.
- 37:17Speaker 2: That was funny, and she rubs his she rubs his
- 37:19Speaker 2: head through the body bag and then I give a
- 37:23Speaker 2: little like that's a gift. I see a lot. Is
- 37:25Speaker 2: that moment where where she like blows a kiss and
- 37:28Speaker 2: I do a little I do a little like kiss
- 37:31Speaker 2: to her.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Is that a? Is that a? Is that a?
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah? I'm gonna send you that gift after we get
- 37:35Speaker 2: off the podcast. It's a funny one. But yeah, so
- 37:39Speaker 2: Deontay and Puka Shell's his face is really funny too.
- 37:42Speaker 2: If you guys are watching this, go to go around
- 37:46Speaker 2: two o six and you'll see this moment. It's really
- 37:48Speaker 2: really funny.
- 37:49Speaker 3: And then threesome talk.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Carla is very into a threesome if it's with Heather Locklear, right,
- 37:57Speaker 2: but she's kind of talking smack because she doesn't know
- 38:00Speaker 2: that you're going to go and try and she says
- 38:02Speaker 2: she's like, oh, you know, yeah, it's with someone like her,
- 38:05Speaker 2: I'll do it. And then she doesn't know that you're like,
- 38:07Speaker 2: ew when you go try and you gotta try and
- 38:09Speaker 2: chat Heather up right. The new title sequences back, and
- 38:13Speaker 2: I saw on wiki scrubs wiki that it's the last
- 38:16Speaker 2: time it's ever seen, So for those of you who
- 38:19Speaker 2: love it and liked it, this is the last episode
- 38:23Speaker 2: it's ever seen, and then it's retired forever.
- 38:27Speaker 1: I thought that there's another change to the title at
- 38:30Speaker 1: some point where it just goes Superman, I'm no Superman.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Eventually, what happens every season, they kept cutting the
- 38:37Speaker 2: amount of showback to put in more advertiser time, and
- 38:41Speaker 2: so then it became like, well, we don't have time
- 38:43Speaker 2: for all of this whole title sequence. So then it
- 38:45Speaker 2: was just like I'm no Superman.
- 38:48Speaker 3: And that was it.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Actually, another thing I read on scrubs Wiki, interestingly,
- 38:53Speaker 2: was that this episode when it first aired was a
- 38:55Speaker 2: super sized one, so it was ten minutes longer. Remember
- 38:58Speaker 2: the NBC at the time was doing super sized episodes.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Right, so they still do that.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Well, there's ten minutes of the show that aren't on
- 39:06Speaker 2: the one I watched that were on when it aired,
- 39:08Speaker 2: so god knows what those ten minutes were.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Oh, so there's show missing.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean I watched it on iTunes. You
- 39:15Speaker 2: watched on Hulu. Yeah, well it was. If it was
- 39:18Speaker 2: I think it was twenty four minutes or something. But
- 39:20Speaker 2: but there's a thirty four minute version of this episode somewhere.
- 39:24Speaker 2: I wonder if that's on the DVDs or not. Probably
- 39:27Speaker 2: is that, I don't know. I like when I try
- 39:29Speaker 2: and hit on her at three thirty three, I'm like,
- 39:32Speaker 2: she goes, I'm Julie. I go, were you named after
- 39:34Speaker 2: a jewel? E? He's so bad at hitting on women,
- 39:41Speaker 2: this guy.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Yeah, well he's a you know, he's a.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Nerd.
- 39:45Speaker 1: He's yeah, he's this is the it's so charming though,
- 39:50Speaker 1: you know, a front nerd.
- 39:51Speaker 2: He does get some pretty amazing women.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah, he's so charming.
- 39:54Speaker 2: He's charming. He's a charming he's charming, and he's a
- 39:56Speaker 2: doctor and he's goofy.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I'd like to double her and Tandre.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but again in the spirit of flirting, she's like,
- 40:06Speaker 2: come grab a pen and they're like all right above
- 40:09Speaker 2: her breast. Yeah, you know, it's all about like, you know,
- 40:12Speaker 2: one by one, she's worked. She works Kelso, she works
- 40:15Speaker 2: doctor Cox, she's working.
- 40:17Speaker 3: She works.
- 40:17Speaker 2: You with the steak that you eat makes you sick works?
- 40:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 40:21Speaker 1: Oh man, have you ever had a turf and turf night?
- 40:26Speaker 1: We go steak night? We used to go steak night
- 40:27Speaker 1: all the time.
- 40:29Speaker 2: We used to legitimately go steak night. But now I'm
- 40:31Speaker 2: a pescatarian.
- 40:33Speaker 1: But this is where steak Knight. This is where steak
- 40:35Speaker 1: Knight kind of started. This is where we learned turk
- 40:37Speaker 1: loves steak.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Yes, you really love steak. Turf and turf.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Turf and turf? Do you know to this episode?
- 40:44Speaker 1: I had no idea what surf and turf mint?
- 40:47Speaker 2: That's when you have a lobster with you? Or does
- 40:49Speaker 2: it any fish or just lobster?
- 40:51Speaker 3: I believe it's any any fish, anything in the sea.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And then does that mean it could be any food
- 40:57Speaker 3: that eats grass?
- 41:00Speaker 2: Good question. I assumed it was always a steak.
- 41:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I grew up kosher, so I never had lobster and
- 41:06Speaker 2: and and stuff like that shellfish until I was like
- 41:09Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen years old.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Do you want to tell them that story? Which one
- 41:15Speaker 1: after your bought mitzvah?
- 41:17Speaker 2: Oh my bar mitzvah, uh bot mitzvahs for a girl
- 41:20Speaker 2: bar mitzvah. Well, my father made us kosher when we
- 41:23Speaker 2: were kids. And after my bar mitzvah, after I successfully
- 41:27Speaker 2: uh became a man in the eyes of the Jewish
- 41:30Speaker 2: faith my dad. I said to my father like, well,
- 41:33Speaker 2: if I'm a man, I I really don't want to
- 41:37Speaker 2: be kosher anymore, and I'd like to make that decision
- 41:39Speaker 2: for myself. And he was kind of his mind was
- 41:43Speaker 2: kind of blown, like I Jedi mind trigged him and
- 41:45Speaker 2: he was like okay, and I was like, I couldn't believe
- 41:48Speaker 2: it worked. Uh. And then from that moment on, I
- 41:52Speaker 2: was no longer kosher. But he said outside of the house,
- 41:55Speaker 2: because like.
- 41:56Speaker 1: I would be to say, there was no way you
- 41:58Speaker 1: were bringing like a lobster home for the supermarket.
- 42:00Speaker 2: No no. If I just sit down on the table
- 42:04Speaker 2: started eating like a baky double cheese.
- 42:07Speaker 3: You guys eat your food.
- 42:08Speaker 2: No, no, no no. But his rule was outside of
- 42:12Speaker 2: the house, you can eat whatever you want. Also, my
- 42:14Speaker 2: parents had gotten divorced and my mom was now you know,
- 42:17Speaker 2: living with my stepfather and they weren't kosher. So it
- 42:20Speaker 2: was a confusing time for for us as kids, Like
- 42:23Speaker 2: come on, guys, you guys got to get on a
- 42:25Speaker 2: unified front here, like what the hell are we allowed
- 42:27Speaker 2: to eat? You know, and and so that's kind of
- 42:30Speaker 2: part of it too. You know, we never we never
- 42:33Speaker 2: had any kind of shellfish or any pork or any
- 42:36Speaker 2: dairy mixed with meat. And then it was such a
- 42:41Speaker 2: bizarre rule like if you, let's say, you had meat
- 42:44Speaker 2: for dinner, you would have to wait an hour till
- 42:47Speaker 2: you could have ice cream. Why that's part of being
- 42:51Speaker 2: the kosher rules, Like.
- 42:53Speaker 3: There is there a specific reason on why that's.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Well, back in the day it was it was theory
- 42:58Speaker 2: about health and eating things that wouldn't make you sick,
- 43:01Speaker 2: you know, back in like biblical times. But now it's
- 43:05Speaker 2: just tradition. So you know, you always was like sitting
- 43:08Speaker 2: there being like, oh my God, how long has it been?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Forty five minutes? Do you think God? Do you think
- 43:13Speaker 2: God is going to be pissed if I have the
- 43:15Speaker 2: ice cream? Like fifteen early? But you know, it's just
- 43:19Speaker 2: like any you.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Say shit like that when you were a kid to
- 43:21Speaker 3: your parents.
- 43:22Speaker 2: No, I mean, are you kidding me? I was afraid
- 43:24Speaker 2: of my dad. I wasn't saying anything like that, but
- 43:25Speaker 2: I mean, I in my mind, I was thinking like
- 43:28Speaker 2: this is crazy. Even as a kid, like, this is crazy.
- 43:31Speaker 2: God does not care about this. That's how I felt.
- 43:35Speaker 2: That's how I felt.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Donald right, so good, So let's go back to I'd
- 43:40Speaker 1: like to double her on Tondra.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Todd, Yeah, I'd like to double her on Tndra.
- 43:47Speaker 1: That might be I still use that shit to this day.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's a double on Tondre. I'd like to double her on.
- 43:53Speaker 2: It's not as good as are you going to turn
- 43:55Speaker 2: everything into sexual innuendo in your endo in your windo? Yeah,
- 44:03Speaker 2: that Todd is pretty funny in this episode, although it's
- 44:05Speaker 2: a little creepy that he's planning to hide out and
- 44:07Speaker 2: watch you have sex with Judy.
- 44:09Speaker 1: No, he was in the breakroom. He was in the
- 44:11Speaker 1: room sleeping already. He wasn't hiding out, he was already
- 44:14Speaker 1: in there.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Oh, I was under the impression that he was. He
- 44:16Speaker 2: was like, he was like he figured out that you
- 44:19Speaker 2: guys were gonna have sex, and so he was like
- 44:21Speaker 2: hanging out in the top bunk.
- 44:23Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, he went into that. He went
- 44:26Speaker 1: in there to be the Todd and do whatever the time.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That's a good ask, Rob question, how come how come
- 44:33Speaker 1: the Todd is always in the breakroom when something something's
- 44:38Speaker 1: about to when something something's about to jump off.
- 44:40Speaker 2: That Todd does take a lot of naps, I have
- 44:42Speaker 2: to say he does. Right there. There's an episode where
- 44:46Speaker 2: Todd says, sometimes when I'm banging this mattress, I'm thinking
- 44:49Speaker 2: about banging that one the one underneath. So we know
- 44:52Speaker 2: that Todd likes to hump the mattresses in the breakroom, right,
- 44:56Speaker 2: So I think we should ask Rob why is Todd
- 45:00Speaker 2: always in the breakroom alone?
- 45:01Speaker 14: Well, between all the surgical enhancements and rejuvenations, the Todd
- 45:05Speaker 14: needs a little cat napp to cut down on recovery
- 45:09Speaker 14: time between operating sessions. I've been told I'm a bit
- 45:12Speaker 14: of a sleep humper. Though, sometimes when I'm banging the
- 45:15Speaker 14: top mattress, I'm thinking about banging the bottom one.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you Rob, Thank you Rob. And just
- 45:21Speaker 2: to give Rob a plug. If you guys want, you
- 45:24Speaker 2: can hire them on Cameo, go on that app and
- 45:29Speaker 2: you can you can have you can hire Rob to
- 45:31Speaker 2: say anything pretty much yeah within reason right, and you
- 45:37Speaker 2: can send your friends a Rob video of him saying
- 45:40Speaker 2: funny stuff.
- 45:42Speaker 1: These are great ideas for birthday presence if you have
- 45:45Speaker 1: friends that are die hard Scrubs fan and fans and
- 45:50Speaker 1: love the Todd. Here's a way for you to get
- 45:54Speaker 1: the Todd to deliver some sort of five and a
- 45:59Speaker 1: funny anecdote.
- 45:59Speaker 2: So and and you know, I haven't really been on
- 46:01Speaker 2: the cameo too much, but I like the idea of
- 46:03Speaker 2: hiring people. I like to say funny things. Donald and
- 46:09Speaker 2: I are not on there, but we want you to
- 46:10Speaker 2: put all of your scrubs love in to Rob get
- 46:14Speaker 2: robbed to say funny things. I think I might hire
- 46:16Speaker 2: Rob to send you a message Donald, okay, yeah sure, yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 2: So maybe with you, I should hire a basketball player
- 46:24Speaker 2: because they have a lot of sports athletes on there,
- 46:26Speaker 2: and I and I could get you one.
- 46:28Speaker 1: If you could get anyone to send me a message,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I would love a message from Tracy Morgan.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I don't know if he's I bet he's not a chemi.
- 46:34Speaker 2: He's got a zillion dollars now, especially duds as a settlement.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I'm bron if you could get Tracy Morgan to hit
- 46:39Speaker 1: me up as Brian Fellows, you did it once in
- 46:42Speaker 1: your life.
- 46:43Speaker 3: You had Tracy Morgan.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Oh that's right, I did.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Because you know I'm a huge Tracy Morgan fan. Right,
- 46:50Speaker 1: and you know how much. I love Brian fell I'm
- 46:52Speaker 1: Brian Fellows.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Right, and it was just after.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I think one of the best Tracy Morgan said Night
- 47:00Speaker 1: Lives is when Britney Spears hosted.
- 47:05Speaker 2: That made no sense, but it was so funny.
- 47:07Speaker 1: But he's so funny on that episode Anyway, Rob Mashio's
- 47:11Speaker 1: on cameo, guys, we're.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Going to break let me right. Uh. I love how
- 47:22Speaker 2: Rob seems to write out his thing. Like I thought
- 47:25Speaker 2: he was just gonna, like, you know, just answer it,
- 47:28Speaker 2: but it seems very prepared, and he writes them out
- 47:31Speaker 2: and uh, he runs the line, He puts his time in,
- 47:34Speaker 2: he runs his line.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Runs his line.
- 47:36Speaker 6: Their guests here, Daniel, Yes, they are, yeah already Yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 6: bring in.
- 47:42Speaker 2: The guests, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Give it up for devil. How are you man?
- 47:51Speaker 10: I'm doing well? What about yourself?
- 47:54Speaker 3: You know, making it happen like everybody else?
- 47:56Speaker 2: Try killing chilling like a villain. Donald, Don't you say
- 47:58Speaker 2: that chilling?
- 48:00Speaker 3: Ever say chilling like a villain? You fucking tool.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Devin. Do you see how I'm addressed? Do you see
- 48:05Speaker 2: how I'm how I'm talking.
- 48:06Speaker 1: To Well, you made the dumbest remark and said, do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you say, chilling like a villain, Donald, what a buck.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Says chilling like a villain?
- 48:12Speaker 2: Devin? Do you follow sports in basketball in particular at all?
- 48:15Speaker 3: I do? Yes?
- 48:17Speaker 2: And who's your favorite team?
- 48:18Speaker 10: I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Oh, say you're lucky man, you've won a ring. You
- 48:22Speaker 1: guys stole Poisekas from us?
- 48:24Speaker 3: Are you calling out? Are you? Are you coming from
- 48:26Speaker 3: Dallas right now? Are you hitting us up from Dallas
- 48:28Speaker 3: right now? I'm not.
- 48:28Speaker 13: Actually, I'm one of those weird Dallas Mavericks fans. I'm
- 48:32Speaker 13: originally from Pennsylvania and I'm in Virginia now. I became
- 48:35Speaker 13: a Dallas Mavericks fan because Dirk I lost a bet
- 48:39Speaker 13: in junior high school and so I had to take
- 48:41Speaker 13: German as my foreign language and I ended up sticking
- 48:45Speaker 13: with it and I majored in it in college. But
- 48:47Speaker 13: my dad wasn't a big basketball fan. He was a
- 48:49Speaker 13: big baseball guy, and so I kind of have free
- 48:53Speaker 13: rain to pick my team. And I always loved picking,
- 48:56Speaker 13: you know, underdogs, and the MAVs kind of had, you know,
- 49:00Speaker 13: pretty good squads leading up to that championship team, but
- 49:03Speaker 13: nothing fully came together up until twenty eleven. And so
- 49:08Speaker 13: I picked Dirk and I Mark Cuban seems like a
- 49:12Speaker 13: pretty cool guy.
- 49:14Speaker 10: Hard like a lot of what he's doing.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I like Mark Cuban. Yeah, I don't know anything about sports,
- 49:18Speaker 2: but I like Mark Cuban. Devin, do you have a
- 49:21Speaker 2: question for us about anything? If he does not say
- 49:24Speaker 2: about Scrubs, it could be about anything.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:26Speaker 10: Absolutely, I prepared a couple.
- 49:29Speaker 13: I'm lucky enough to know John Putch, who directed a
- 49:33Speaker 13: couple of episodes I think starting at the tail end.
- 49:36Speaker 10: Of season five.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, great guy.
- 49:38Speaker 13: He grew up in the same town I did, and
- 49:40Speaker 13: frequent in the restaurant my mom owned. He actually filmed
- 49:44Speaker 13: one of his movies partially in that restaurant, and I
- 49:47Speaker 13: got to be an extra. So I got to meet
- 49:49Speaker 13: him through that. And I know you both have talked
- 49:52Speaker 13: a lot about what different directors brought, especially in the
- 49:56Speaker 13: early couple of episodes episodes. So for someone like John,
- 50:00Speaker 13: you know where end of season five, you guys, I
- 50:04Speaker 13: think had already done one hundred and twenty ish episodes,
- 50:07Speaker 13: give or take. What was it like, you know, coming
- 50:11Speaker 13: in as a new director. How and you know, Zach
- 50:14Speaker 13: you kind of you got to direct your own couple
- 50:16Speaker 13: of episodes for a show that kind of had its voice,
- 50:20Speaker 13: it had its style, how did you balance that.
- 50:23Speaker 10: With your own personal styles?
- 50:27Speaker 2: That's a good question. Someone like that is in a
- 50:29Speaker 2: tough place because they're coming into a machine five seasons
- 50:32Speaker 2: in that's so well oiled. You know, we really all
- 50:35Speaker 2: we crank them out. You know, by the time you
- 50:37Speaker 2: come to five seasons, everybody knows what they're doing, everybody
- 50:40Speaker 2: knows their characters, and a director that's coming in brand new,
- 50:45Speaker 2: they just got to make sure that they that they
- 50:47Speaker 2: go with the flow that you still want to A
- 50:49Speaker 2: director like John would still want to come in and
- 50:52Speaker 2: add his own spin and add his own flare and
- 50:54Speaker 2: come up with cool shots and have suggestions, but you
- 50:57Speaker 2: don't want them coming in and trying to change the
- 50:59Speaker 2: style at all and going in and doing something out
- 51:01Speaker 2: of the norm. Well, someone like him would really have
- 51:04Speaker 2: to know the show, really have watched a lot of episodes.
- 51:06Speaker 2: A lot of times what they'll do is come and
- 51:08Speaker 2: hang out on the set and watch somebody else direct,
- 51:10Speaker 2: so they just kind of no only gives you a
- 51:12Speaker 2: chance to meet everyone and kind of shoot the shit
- 51:13Speaker 2: a bit, but also you get the sense of, like
- 51:16Speaker 2: everyone's vibe like, ooh, I see that Johnny c doesn't
- 51:19Speaker 2: like to do more than that many takes. I'm gonna
- 51:20Speaker 2: just make a mental note of that. And oh, I
- 51:23Speaker 2: see that Donald never knows his lines. Okay, good, let
- 51:26Speaker 2: me memorize that. So you kind of kind of come
- 51:28Speaker 2: to the set and get the feel of everything. So
- 51:31Speaker 2: then when you when you when you all of a sudden,
- 51:33Speaker 2: because like I said before, it's such a bizarre job
- 51:35Speaker 2: to be like, hey, everyone, nice to meet you. I
- 51:37Speaker 2: know you guys have been working together for five years.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I'm the boss this week.
- 51:41Speaker 3: You know.
- 51:41Speaker 2: It's such a weird, a weird way to create stuff,
- 51:45Speaker 2: but it is kind of how it works.
- 51:48Speaker 1: A little trivia for you. Do you know who John
- 51:50Speaker 1: puchess mother is.
- 51:52Speaker 2: John Puch's mother is Jeene Stapleton, who was Edith Bunker
- 51:57Speaker 2: on the classic show All in the Family.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Was What a Days and you knew who you were?
- 52:05Speaker 2: I can't hit that note.
- 52:07Speaker 3: And girls from.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Happy Hoover again, Herbert Hoover again, I didn't know no
- 52:16Speaker 2: more about everybody pulled his way. G r old lassal
- 52:21Speaker 2: worked great. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, sorry for your ears.
- 52:31Speaker 2: She was a fantastic actress and John Punch's mother. A
- 52:36Speaker 2: little bit of trivia for you.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I'll say this, when John came in, it felt like
- 52:39Speaker 1: he was already. He really blended in very well with us. Yeah,
- 52:43Speaker 1: and I think that's why he came back for.
- 52:45Speaker 2: He was also very fast.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that was another thing he was. He was he
- 52:49Speaker 1: totally like he got the show and he got us. Also, Zach,
- 52:54Speaker 1: have you have you guys ever worked together other than.
- 52:58Speaker 2: We text sometimes and we shoot the shit. He listens
- 53:00Speaker 2: to the podcast, So, Hi, John, thank you for listening
- 53:03Speaker 2: to John. And we'll have him on. I told him
- 53:05Speaker 2: we'll have him on when the when the time comes,
- 53:07Speaker 2: I would love to have him if we really keep
- 53:09Speaker 2: this thing going for five.
- 53:10Speaker 1: He's directed so much television as well. We had Michael
- 53:13Speaker 1: Spiller on who's directed quite a bit of television. John
- 53:16Speaker 1: Putch is another person who is you know, yeah, who
- 53:20Speaker 1: who is a well seasoned director.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know what he's directing now, I'll look
- 53:24Speaker 2: it up.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Well, nobody's directing anything right now.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Well, I'm saying pre Quaran Tizzle.
- 53:30Speaker 10: He's doing some I think it was American Housewife, I believe.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Oh great, Yeah. Dietrich Bader that guy.
- 53:36Speaker 2: You have another question for us?
- 53:37Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, So. I think Scrubs means a lot to
- 53:41Speaker 13: me because it was one of the first times I
- 53:43Speaker 13: saw a show reflect a part of me that isn't
- 53:47Speaker 13: just very outward facing. I grew up and I had epilepsy,
- 53:53Speaker 13: and there's an episode where doctor Cox treats a patient
- 53:56Speaker 13: who has epilepsy, and I believe that the see is
- 54:00Speaker 13: she doesn't want to take her medicine or isn't taking
- 54:03Speaker 13: her medicine because she she struggles with letting the epilepsy
- 54:07Speaker 13: define her and prevent her from being a normal teenage girl.
- 54:11Speaker 13: And I was younger than her when I was dealing
- 54:13Speaker 13: a lot with it. But it was the first time
- 54:16Speaker 13: I really remember seeing a part of myself on a
- 54:19Speaker 13: TV show and feeling like, wow, that's, you know, very
- 54:21Speaker 13: core to my identity. So for for both of you,
- 54:25Speaker 13: when was the first time you know, either of you
- 54:27Speaker 13: saw yourself reflected in that way?
- 54:29Speaker 2: If ever, good question you go first? Donald, Do you
- 54:35Speaker 2: mean I mean you mean in television shows when we
- 54:37Speaker 2: were growing up or is that what you mean?
- 54:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 54:39Speaker 13: I mean it could be growing up, It could have
- 54:41Speaker 13: you know, been a while, and it could be more
- 54:43Speaker 13: present day whatever, well.
- 54:44Speaker 3: I was, I looked at it.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I looked at okay, so I look at it a
- 54:47Speaker 1: little bit different. I didn't see myself in a lot
- 54:49Speaker 1: of in a lot of television growing up, mainly because
- 54:53Speaker 1: there weren't a lot of African American people on television.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I mean, so seeing somebody who was like me was
- 55:02Speaker 1: very hard to come by.
- 55:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 55:03Speaker 1: People said I looked like Todd Bridges when I was
- 55:06Speaker 1: a kid, but I had nothing in common really with
- 55:09Speaker 1: what Willis and Arnold.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Went through in different strokes.
- 55:13Speaker 1: It wasn't until a different world came out and I
- 55:16Speaker 1: was in I was. I guess it was my freshman
- 55:20Speaker 1: year in high school and Dwayne Wayne, Dwayne Wayne came
- 55:25Speaker 1: on television, played by Kadem Hardison, and he was the
- 55:28Speaker 1: one that had the flip up glasses and he was
- 55:30Speaker 1: so in love with Denise from The Cosby Show Lisa Bonnett.
- 55:33Speaker 1: He was so in love with that character, and I
- 55:36Speaker 1: felt like, that's who I'm that guy's he had a
- 55:40Speaker 1: bunch of energy. He was really charismatic, and girls looked
- 55:44Speaker 1: at him not necessarily as the hot guy, they looked
- 55:47Speaker 1: at him as the friend. And I was drawn to
- 55:53Speaker 1: Dwayne Wayne, so and so that I bought the glasses.
- 55:57Speaker 2: You did you wear the flip up? Guys?
- 55:58Speaker 1: I would wear the flip up? Now, remember I went
- 56:00Speaker 1: to the professional children's school. So there's me and maybe
- 56:04Speaker 1: three other black kids and the four of the black
- 56:06Speaker 1: kids in the school or in the upper school at
- 56:09Speaker 1: the time, in the high school at the time, and so.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Are you all wearing them?
- 56:13Speaker 6: You know?
- 56:14Speaker 3: Well, I would wear the glasses.
- 56:16Speaker 1: And I'm sure these guys were like this motherfucker came
- 56:18Speaker 1: up in here with the fucking Dwayne Wayne.
- 56:21Speaker 2: It's a funnier story if they're all if you're all
- 56:23Speaker 2: four of you walking around.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, So Dwayne Wayne Kadeem Hardison when he showed up,
- 56:30Speaker 1: he had such an impact on my life because I
- 56:33Speaker 1: felt like I was looking at myself that he was.
- 56:36Speaker 1: At one point, he was one of my favorite actors
- 56:39Speaker 1: in the world. So if he was in a movie
- 56:40Speaker 1: like White Men Can't Jump, Vampire in Brooklyn School Days,
- 56:45Speaker 1: the list goes on. He was in quite a few
- 56:48Speaker 1: things when I was younger, I would gravitate towards his
- 56:52Speaker 1: character as the best characters character in those projects.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I was really drawn to Anthony Michael Hall. I was
- 56:59Speaker 2: just thinking. You know, everything he played when he was
- 57:01Speaker 2: young was how I felt. I felt like this sort
- 57:03Speaker 2: of nerdy kid who you know, who could make people
- 57:07Speaker 2: laugh and was you know, I made friends by being
- 57:10Speaker 2: a class clown, you know, and so a lot of
- 57:14Speaker 2: the parts, whether it was you know, Weird Science or
- 57:18Speaker 2: sixteen Candles or Breakfast Club, I really related to him
- 57:22Speaker 2: in those movies. I really wanted to be Ferris Bueller
- 57:26Speaker 2: more than anything. Like when I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off,
- 57:28Speaker 2: I was like, man, I wish I was that cool,
- 57:31Speaker 2: Like I wanted to be Ferris and John cusack in
- 57:34Speaker 2: say Anything, I wanted to be him.
- 57:36Speaker 1: All of those movies are big parts of my are
- 57:39Speaker 1: big parts of my youth. Yeah you say anything, freaking
- 57:43Speaker 1: sixteen Candles, Weird Science, you know, the list goes on.
- 57:50Speaker 3: All those John Hughes movies were huge for me.
- 57:54Speaker 1: The only problem I had with them was that there
- 57:56Speaker 1: were no black people in it, right, you know what
- 57:58Speaker 1: I mean? But those movies like you know a lot
- 58:03Speaker 1: of the music that a lot of the songs, I
- 58:05Speaker 1: didn't even know all of the words to the songs,
- 58:07Speaker 1: but I knew, you know, when Lloyd did you should
- 58:10Speaker 1: uh what's what's the song that he did?
- 58:13Speaker 3: Stop? Wait a minute, I knew, yeah, is that what
- 58:17Speaker 3: that is?
- 58:18Speaker 1: You should let me know. No, that's a little that's
- 58:20Speaker 1: a Mario. These just step and these just ain't words
- 58:24Speaker 1: that I'm spinning.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I knew that he sampled. Uh, Papa, I know this
- 58:35Speaker 3: must be true right now much is true?
- 58:39Speaker 11: And he goes ba ba, she's fun b ah want
- 58:49Speaker 11: you and I and nobody knew what that ship was from.
- 58:53Speaker 11: But because of my love of all of these John
- 58:55Speaker 11: Hughes movies and stuff, I knew where they simple.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Huh, it's called you. It's from two thousand and six.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Another one, another one, Jake, Uh, do you have another one?
- 59:17Speaker 1: Do you have another one?
- 59:18Speaker 2: Another one?
- 59:19Speaker 3: Another one?
- 59:20Speaker 13: I do have another one. So Zach got a lot
- 59:25Speaker 13: of flak for having not seen Remember the Titans up
- 59:28Speaker 13: until a couple of weeks ago. So I've been thinking
- 59:31Speaker 13: a lot about some of Zach's filmography. Don I know
- 59:36Speaker 13: you have some kids. Have you seen Chicken Little?
- 59:39Speaker 2: Yes?
- 59:40Speaker 10: Okay, I went, did you really?
- 59:44Speaker 2: A lot of people will be surprised, devon. They don't
- 59:46Speaker 2: know that I'm the voice of Chicken Little.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Here's the thing.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Here's the thing, Devin, you can name pretty much any
- 59:52Speaker 1: movie Zach's been in.
- 59:53Speaker 3: I've seen it.
- 59:54Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Okay, what's the one you did with Michael Weston?
- 59:59Speaker 2: And uh the Last Kiss? You like that one?
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: No, there's another one that you two did together, way
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: before you were.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Ever getting to know you.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Who was the other? Who was the Yes, she was
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: in that? I've seen that movie.
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: He also he also did a movie called The Broken
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Hearts Club.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Yep, broken heart in that movie?
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Seen that movie?
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: He also did? Uh like we could go down his
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: whole resume. I promise you, I've seen everything. I didn't
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: read Garden State, but I'm not a strong reader.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: I did read. I did, I did, I did.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Did you see Going in Style?
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: What? Yes, I've seen.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: You didn't watch Going in Style?
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: For real, I've watched go I've now watched Going in Style.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I did not see it in the theaters though.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Oh that's fucked up, dude, No it's not.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: It's the truth. Though.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: My first big studio movie I directed and you didn't
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: go see it.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: No, your first big movie you directed was Garden State.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: No, I'm saying my first it was my first and
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: only so far studio movie I've directed it, and I
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: directed these three living legends. You couldn't fucking find the
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: time to go to the theater.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: See this is what I'm talking about, Devin.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: You just started some fucking beef.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: I've seen the movie though, because.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: You fucking rented it. I mean, if you're if you're
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: my best friend, you're still taking the cad.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Do you want me to start naming my movies and
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: what movies you?
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: I know?
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Your movie?
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: To shut the fuck up with this crap, dude, nobody
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: wants to hear I'm blowing out the mic. That's how
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: loud I'm getting right now. Let me turn it down
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: a little bit. Do you want to start this ship?
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Do you really want to start this ship? Do you
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: want to start this shit about how I'm not seen
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: going in style in theaters. I can name movie after
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: movie after movie that I've been in that you've never seen.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: In your life.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I've seen them. I saw Juice in the theater. No
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: you did it, Yes, I.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: You did it. You did not see Juice in the theater.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: I did. I did, although it's cheating. It was in
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: a screening room at the drawback of Film Center. I
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: was an intern there and they invited me to see Juice,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: and I quite liked it.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: You're full of shit, dude. You know I know you're
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: full of shit. I was in high school. I was
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: a freshman. I was ninth grade when Juice came out.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: I shut the fuck up.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Can I defend myself? I was thinking. I was thinking
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: of Fresh? Are you in Fresh?
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: I'm not in Fresh?
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Oh? Fresh is good? Have you guys seen Fresh? It's
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: a very underrated movie.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Dude, Fresh is very good?
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Directed well as Yaquin, who also directed Remember the Titans?
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Have you never seen that? Joelle? Have you seen Fresh?
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Very good? I want our listeners to go.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Directed by bo As Yaquin, who also directed Remember the Titans?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Now? Is that bo as his first film? I think
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: it may have been.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: I think Price Above Rubies was his first. It's one
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: of those. It's either that one of I think one
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: of those.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: He's really a talented guy.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: He's very talented.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: What has he made lately? Has he made anything lately?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: That He's written a lot of the Hostels, He wrote
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: a lot of The Dusk Till Dawns Like.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: He He's changed up a little bit here.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: He switched it up a little bit. He's more comic book.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Uh got it? Horror Now, well, Devin, thank you for
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: starting this fight. We've got to get sorry.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: I know you had good intentions and you were trying
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: to make me. You were trying to throw me under
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: the bus, you know what.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I know what you were trying to do, but you
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: fucked up, Devin.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Devin, I was I was gonna send you a message
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: from from one of those guys, but now you don't
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: get I don't even know what their names are, but
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: you were gonna get one from from.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: No GTS Kombucha for you.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: No No GT's he's been he's been banned, all right,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: But thank you for coming on.
- 1:03:26Speaker 10: We thank you so much.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Donald. You know, want to laugh at this whole bit
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: with you giving Judy a bus pass? Then I say
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: that was very funny, did I say, not just a nurse?
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I love I love the fact that that's where Turk is.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: He's that invested in his relationship that he's like, I
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: know my girlfriend could be doing so much better than
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: she is right now, and if I'm in the way,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I want to get out of the way and help
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: her achieve what it is that she wants to achieve,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: and you know, being Turk, he just says it wrong.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: You know, I don't want you. I want you to
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: feel like more than just a nurse, just a nurse.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Did I say just a nurse?
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Well, he means as well, he means well, but he
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: keeps putting his foot in his mouth and she's like,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: you know, and she's saying, I love my job, I
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: love what I do. Why why are people making I'm
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: sure a lot of nurses, I would imagine, feel this,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: like it's such an honor to be a nurse. It's
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: so hard to become a nurse. And someone's like saying,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: you know, it's something with the attitude of you're just
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: a nurse. They're like, what, how fucking dare you? Do
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: you see? You know, see Carla's like, do you see
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: the pride that I have in what I do?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: And I really liked that. I thought she was she
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: was really good in this episode.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Oh she crushes well she you know, Judy crushes every episode.
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Elliot acknowledges JD's staring off into space.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Yeah, she did.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: This episode.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: There's a funny moment where she says, you're always starting
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: off to space. And I start to and then I go,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: I don't stare off in the space like this, and
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: then I go right into staring off in the space.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: That was fun.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's but uh yeah, I mean I don't how
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: does how does one get away with daydreaming in front
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: of someone when they're talking like you're doing well.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: It's exaggerated for this show, but you know we were
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: all doing that. How many times you talking to someone
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: you see them staring off and and and then you
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: go hello, like you kind of wave your hand in
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: front of their face, like I mean, I.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Do it to my wife all the time, where my
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: wife is talking to me and I'm just not there.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and she'll be like, did you hear what I said?
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: And I'll be like yeah.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: She'll be like, repeat what I said, and not just
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: repeat what the last thing I remember her.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Saying, right, but you were still zoned out.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: I was not there listening.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I laughed out loud when Kelso goes, it's not because
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: I got the name Johnny tattooed on my butt. He's
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: an old sailor buddy, And if you knew what we
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: went through, you'd understand. Yeah, we should talk about the
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: bungee jumping thing, which we've mentioned on this podcast before,
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: but two things I noticed this time. That you can
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: clearly see that Sarah and I are safety lines to
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: the bridge and aren't going anywhere from this bungee jump
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: right now. If you pause it, you'll see that there's
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: a stock line that ties us to the bridge, so
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: we're not going to accidentally fall off. And then you
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: can also see my mic right right under my collar.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: There's a big there's a there's a big puffy thing
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: that's my microphone. So there's two a little annoying wiki
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: scrubs wiki things. Yeah, and so we didn't do this jump,
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: and the two stunt people who did it met this
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: day and then got married. They fell in love in
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: this moment when they jumped off the bridge together.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: And are no longer married now.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: And now now we learn the sad part of the
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: story that they got divorced, but you know, it is
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: pretty romantic that they met this way at least married
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: for a little while.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Absolutely, you know, I just to go back a little bit.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I really thought that was really great of Elliott. You know,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: she's always being rescued in these shows by you. You're
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: always you know what I mean. And this is the
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: one time where I told you so backfires on you.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: And and and yeah, she definitely, you know, razes you
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: a little bit for it, but in the end she's
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: such a good friend. She's like, you know, we all
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: need to take It's just like I was saying from
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the beginning when I did when I did the recap.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: We all need to take chances, is what Elliot's saying.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: And here's one that here's one that's perfect for us.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: This is gonna scare the shit out of you. We're
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: gonna jump off of a bridge together, but I'll be
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: there with you.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: I think that's I think it's an important life lesson
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: that the show tells people is the importance of not
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: just sitting on the stands, of getting on the court,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: as they say, and participating and playing big. And these
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: are a lot of life lessons my father used to
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: give me about being brave and making bold choices and
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: swinging for the fences and asking the question you're positive
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: someone's gonna say no to, but like just going for it,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: putting yourself out there over and over and over again,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: and reaping the rewards when when you very often get
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: good results from it.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and j D's not of that, you know. When
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: we start off JD. JD is a let's wait and
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: see type of person.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: And uh, it's true.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: You know, let's wait and see only gets you to
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: seeing what happened. It doesn't necessarily make it so that
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: you're in control of anything that happens.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: And certainly not nothing exciting and new is gonna happen
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: that way. Nothing that's going to change your life is
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: gonna You can't just sit back and wait for life
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: to happen to you. You have to.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Seize the day.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Car carbe dim as they as they say in Dead
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Poets Society, sez the day.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Oh captain, my captain.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I wanted to point out lastly that I was surprised
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: to know this far in it's very clear that Cox
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: is still pining for Carlo. You think so, Oh yeah, dude,
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: he doesn't go with Heather Locklear's character, even though Heather
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Locklear is literally hitting on him and he's single and
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: she's single, and she's sitting provocatively on the front of
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: his car, and he doesn't go with her. And then
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: and then you see him kind of staring at Judy
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: and being like, you know, I think it's pretty clear
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: to me. And my interpretation was that he's still sort
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: of pining over her, and when she talks about her
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: love for you, then he then has a second thought
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think I disagree.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I think he I'm sure there are still feelings for Carla.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Cox still has feelings for Carla, but I think he's put.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Him aside, because even at the dinner when she's like,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I love the fact that I'm at this dinner right now.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: My boyfriend's trying to eat his weight and meat.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: He's bought his best friend with him this, you know,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and doctor Cox wants something that's not on the menu.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: He wants to eat something that's not on the menu,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: something like that, and she's talking about heathern Then he
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: turns around and he's like what he's because he wasn't
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: paying attention. He was staring at Heather Locklear's character.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: No, I don't. That wasn't my interpretation. My interpretation is
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: that he's Uh. He goes and has a heart to
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: heart with her. In when you're lying on the bed
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: because your stomach hurts in the hospital, they have like
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: a bit of a heart to heart and you're talking
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: about how much you she's talking about how much she
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: loves you, and then he yeah, but look he looks
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: sad for a minute, like like if you look at
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: twenty two thirty seven, he's got this sad look on
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: his face that to me reads I really need to
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: let this go. This woman's in love with Turk. I
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: don't know why I'm still pining for her. Fuck it,
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna go meet Heather at the bar and maybe
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: have a one night stay on who knows, but but
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: I have to start moving on.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: I didn't see it as that.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: I saw it as a friend who and not we
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: could dead this after this. But I saw it as
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: a friend who listened to what was said. Turk went
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: ahead and tried to get her involved in a program
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: that would grant her more power at the hospital, and
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Cox is like, dude, why don't you fucking take your
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: boyfriend up on that offer? That's you'd crush that shit.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: You'd be really good at it, And she's like, of
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: course i'd be good at it. I know i'd be
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: good at it. I'm the you know, I take pride
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: in my job and the time that would be needed
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: for me to crush all of this would be time
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: away from Turk, and I don't want to.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: I don't want time away from Turk.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Well, it's up for interpretation. And if you're listening to
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: this you probably have your own opinion, or if you
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: don't remember, you can go back and check it out.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: That's it. Thank you for listening, everybody. Uh, don't forget
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: to get the ring tones, because everybody needs a ring tone.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Everyone needs Donald going mmmmm as your notification.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: That right there is what i'm talking about.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Yes, another one, That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: That's what I'm talking about. The another one.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: We could just Donald and I could just make up
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: notification ideas for people's phones all day long.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: We should put this out there. Do you want? That's
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: what I'm talking about. As a ring tone I can get.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: That's what i'm talking about. And you know what I
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: mean as a ring tone? You know what I imagine
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: your phone going.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: You know what I mean. You know what I mean.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: We're just gonna keep putting on ringtones.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: You know, well, imagine your phone going. That's what I'm
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: talking about Okay, how could that not get annoying?
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, annoying in a good way. Thank you everybody for listening. Uh,

- 1:12:44Speaker 2: the pharmaceutical reps. They say, let me buy you sushi had.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Three proposals, so it's very popping.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well the last time you had sushi. Speaking
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: of sushi, I had sushi two nights ago.
