Day 236. Jeremiah 42-35
After the destruction of Jerusalem, the remaining people ask Jeremiah to seek God’s direction about whether they should stay in Judah or flee to Egypt. Although God tells them to remain and promises protection, they choose to go to Egypt anyway. Jeremiah warns them that escaping to Egypt will not protect them from judgment. The section also includes a personal message to Baruch, assuring him that although difficult times are ahead, God will preserve his life.
