- 0:00Speaker 1: Marks them all. Mr. New York. Now three hours every
- 0:04Speaker 1: weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR. Hey, we'll take
- 0:13Speaker 1: some calls. We think we got the phones fixed. We
- 0:15Speaker 1: think they'll actually work this time. So call us. 800-321-0710
- 0:17Speaker 1: is the number.
- 0:18Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Zero, seven, ten. Remember yesterday we were talking about all
- 0:29Speaker 1: the AI guys that President Trump gathered for that meeting
- 0:33Speaker 1: yesterday at the White House? They had all the top
- 0:36Speaker 1: AI heads there. And then a lot of the other
- 0:40Speaker 1: tech guys, there was Elon Musk and there was Jeff Bezos.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And they all looked like about 20 of them sitting
- 0:46Speaker 1: around a table. And I said, altogether, these guys could
- 0:49Speaker 1: be worth a trillion dollars. Well, we got the actual number.
- 0:52Speaker 1: It's $ 1. 8 trillion. the people around that table, combined wealth
- 0:58Speaker 1: is close to $ 2 trillion. Those guys, the smartest guys
- 1:05Speaker 1: in the world, the most successful guys money-wise on earth, technology-wise,
- 1:11Speaker 1: these are the most successful guys, absolutely the most brilliant
- 1:16Speaker 1: guys ever in one room. And what did they come
- 1:20Speaker 1: up with as an answer? What to do about AI?
- 1:22Speaker 1: They came up with Let's form a committee. We'll form
- 1:27Speaker 1: a committee to look at it. If you took a
- 1:29Speaker 1: bunch of PTA members or a bunch of housewives and said,
- 1:33Speaker 1: to come up with that, well, we'll form a committee.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Who couldn't have thought of that? Not just a committee.
- 1:38Speaker 1: They're going to have a commission as well. And not
- 1:41Speaker 1: just a committee, but they're going to have a panel, too,
- 1:44Speaker 1: to look at it. All right, let's see if the
- 1:46Speaker 1: phones work. Let's try this out. Let's go to Mara
- 1:50Speaker 1: in Nevada. Mara, how are you doing?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Good morning, Charlie.
- 1:53Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It works. It's 6.
- 1:55Speaker 3: It's 630, 61 degrees and partly sunny out here.
- 2:00Speaker 1: How much is it? 61?
- 2:02Speaker 3: 61.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Oh, in Nevada, isn't it usually warmer?
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you something, Mark. From November to March,
- 2:09Speaker 3: you're going to have to start wearing a light jacket
- 2:12Speaker 3: and bundle up. No bundle up, but a light jacket
- 2:14Speaker 3: when you go outside.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Oh, my God. You poor people.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh, your God.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yes, it's true.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You have to go through that.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Now, Mark, I want to ask you something.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Why is it a good idea to give top security
- 2:25Speaker 3: clearance to a man who holds dual citizenship?
- 2:30Speaker 1: You're talking about Mamdani? Well, you have to give the mayor.
- 2:33Speaker 1: The mayor of New York has to have a security clearance.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Okay, and how about Ilhan Omar? Do congresspeople get top
- 2:40Speaker 3: security clearance?
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm afraid so. Well, they've got to often look at Somalia.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Hello?
- 2:45Speaker 1: But that happens. If you're the mayor of New York,
- 2:48Speaker 1: God forbid there's a terrorist threat. They would have to
- 2:51Speaker 1: share it with the mayor of New York if it
- 2:53Speaker 1: was a threat against New York. Of course, they would
- 2:54Speaker 1: have to tell him. And that sort of report would
- 2:58Speaker 1: be a highly classified document. So the mayor has to
- 3:02Speaker 1: have a high security clearance with the federal government so
- 3:05Speaker 1: they could share that information with them if they had to.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I hate to say it, but let's say there was,
- 3:11Speaker 1: God forbid, a terrorist threat against New York and they
- 3:14Speaker 1: shared it with Mamdani. What do you think he'd do
- 3:16Speaker 1: about it? Anything? What do you think he'd do about it?
- 3:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Who knows? Let's go to Billy in Rockland County. Billy,
- 3:25Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 3:27Speaker 2: Doing good.
- 3:28Speaker 1: How are you? Let me check. Not bad. All right.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Check twice. Well, what do you think Cuomo gets like
- 3:37Speaker 2: $ 100, 000 a year to maintain that house?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Well, you bring up a good question, Billy. Thanks. Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 1: We're going to talk about this a little later, too.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Andrew Cuomo just bought a $ 9 million house in the Hamptons,
- 3:53Speaker 1: South Hampton. Now, let me see here. It's got a
- 3:57Speaker 1: tennis court, pool, gym, wine cellar. It's actually got a
- 4:00Speaker 1: bunch of houses. It's a compound $ 9 million house. Now,
- 4:10Speaker 1: how much money do you have to have to buy
- 4:11Speaker 1: a $ 9 million house? Well, obviously, you've got to have
- 4:13Speaker 1: $ 9 million, but I mean... if that's all you had
- 4:16Speaker 1: in the world, 9 million, you're not going to spend
- 4:17Speaker 1: it all on a house. So in order to have
- 4:20Speaker 1: 9 million just for a house, how much money do
- 4:22Speaker 1: you have to have? 20 million, 30 million. Now he
- 4:27Speaker 1: made 5 million on that shady book deal while he
- 4:30Speaker 1: was in office where he profiteered off the pandemic. Uh,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and then before he was mayor, remember he was attorney general.
- 4:38Speaker 1: There was a couple of a year or two in
- 4:40Speaker 1: between where he did work for a law firm. He
- 4:42Speaker 1: could have made some money there, but, uh, Since that
- 4:46Speaker 1: ridiculous attempt to be mayor, which was absolutely insane. The
- 4:50Speaker 1: guy just got run out of office as governor, literally
- 4:53Speaker 1: run out of office, fled Albany being chased by the police.
- 4:57Speaker 1: And then two seconds later, he tries to run for mayor.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It was an idiotic thing. But since how long has
- 5:02Speaker 1: that been since? It's not that long, that mayoral race, right?
- 5:06Speaker 1: That was 25, wasn't it? So it's a year ago.
- 5:10Speaker 1: How much money could he made in one year? Well,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you never know. He's been involved with these crypto guys.
- 5:15Speaker 1: These crypto companies, who knows? He could have made 20,
- 5:18Speaker 1: 30 in one year.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:21Speaker 1: It's hard to imagine. He says he's buying the house
- 5:25Speaker 1: as an investment. If you're in the crypto business, you're
- 5:29Speaker 1: supposed to invest in crypto. It's right near his brother.
- 5:33Speaker 1: He said he wants to be near his brother. Let
- 5:36Speaker 1: me just see. Cuomo was named co-chair of a joint venture.
- 5:41Speaker 1: between the owner of the New York Stock Exchange and
- 5:44Speaker 1: the crypto exchange. Okay, that involves a lot of money there.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He's also been in Singapore to speak at a crypto conference.
- 5:55Speaker 1: You never know. He could have made all this money crypto-wise,
- 5:59Speaker 1: but he just spent $ 9 million on a house. It
- 6:01Speaker 1: was bought through an LLC. Okay, that's not unusual. Oh,
- 6:05Speaker 1: but listen to this. It was a cash deal, no mortgage,
- 6:09Speaker 1: so he just had $ 9 million in cash Wrote a
- 6:12Speaker 1: check for it just like that. So to do that,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you got to have a lot more than $ 9 million.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So obviously, he made a hell of a lot of
- 6:19Speaker 1: money somewhere doing something. Hey, where's all the calls? We
- 6:23Speaker 1: finally get the phones fixed. Nobody's calling. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710. Hey, Paramount,
- 6:27Speaker 1: Warner Brothers, that whole deal. Paramount's going to take over
- 6:38Speaker 1: Warner Brothers, Time Warner, Warner Discovery, whatever they call it now.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They came up with a new CEO for the whole thing.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And the guy was the CEO of Mattel. They're taking
- 6:51Speaker 1: the CEO of Mattel. Now that sometimes doesn't work out.
- 6:54Speaker 1: You want a guy who runs entertainment companies. Although the
- 6:59Speaker 1: CEO of Mattel a while back was the president of
- 7:03Speaker 1: Maker Studios. It's a small studio, though. You need somebody
- 7:08Speaker 1: with big media experience. So this might not be the
- 7:11Speaker 1: best choice. They say a strong experience. His big experience
- 7:17Speaker 1: is global operations. Also, he was good with Mattel getting
- 7:22Speaker 1: him through the pandemic, dealing with the tariffs, all of that.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And they also say he was very good at marketing stuff.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Remember how Barbie took off all of a sudden? Hot wheels.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But he's going to be the new chairman of this
- 7:37Speaker 1: whole deal. He'll be the chairman of Paramount, Warner Brothers.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Let me see. Oh, yeah. Actually, years ago, he was
- 7:46Speaker 1: CEO of Edamal, a European production company. But again, this
- 7:51Speaker 1: is tiny, tiny media experience. You know, whenever you get
- 7:54Speaker 1: a non-media guy trying to run TV and networks and movies,
- 7:58Speaker 1: it never quite works out. Best example was CBS. I
- 8:03Speaker 1: remember years ago, Lawrence Tish, Larry Tish, Brilliant, brilliant businessman. Brilliant.
- 8:10Speaker 1: He and his brother, Bob Tisch, these two could run anything.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They were unbelievable. They were so brilliant at running a business.
- 8:16Speaker 1: So Larry Tisch bought CBS. It was disaster because it
- 8:20Speaker 1: wasn't a normal business. It's not a factory. It's not
- 8:23Speaker 1: a widget company. It's creative. It's entertainment. And he could
- 8:28Speaker 1: be the most brilliant business guy, but he didn't understand that.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Didn't understand anything about the entertainment world. So It was
- 8:35Speaker 1: a disaster. He finally had to get out of CBS.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Jack Welch, who was the chairman of GE, has one
- 8:40Speaker 1: great thing about him. Whenever they'd come to him with
- 8:42Speaker 1: a big entertainment decision, he'd say, I'm just a business guy.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Don't know anything about that. I can't help you. Anyway,
- 8:48Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to Bobby in Brooklyn. Bobby,
- 8:51Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 8:52Speaker 2: Hi, how are you, Mark?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Good.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I'm a listener, and I'm very glad that you have
- 8:56Speaker 2: that extra hour.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:59Speaker 2: The reason for my call is... I noticed that you
- 9:02Speaker 2: actively promote the other program hosts on WOR.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I was just wondering why you never make a mention
- 9:08Speaker 2: of the overnight AM coast-to-coast syndicated broadcast.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I've got to be honest. I've never heard it. What
- 9:14Speaker 1: is on late at night here?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Oh, George Nouri between 1 a.m.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And 5 a.m. The Flying Saucer Show.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And you listen to that?
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Occasionally, it puts me to sleep.
- 9:24Speaker 1: How the hell does that put you to sleep? Hearing
- 9:26Speaker 1: about UFOs and flying saucers, that would scare the hell
- 9:29Speaker 1: out of me. I'd be up all night.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Well, I wake up usually 4.30 in the morning, so
- 9:33Speaker 2: I've got to sleep sometime.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Oh, okay. All right. Well, we'll mention it. What was
- 9:37Speaker 1: it called? What's it called?
- 9:38Speaker 2: AM Coast to Coast with George Norrie.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 9:41Speaker 2: It's a syndicated program. It's not produced by WOR.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Well, actually, do we produce that? I'm not sure. But,
- 9:50Speaker 1: you know, like there's Hannity and Buck and Clay syndicated,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but we produce it. It's really us. I mean, it's
- 9:56Speaker 1: kind of a local show in a way. I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 1: like Hannity's right upstairs. Buck and Clay are right up there.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It's all we produce it. I heart we all produce it.
- 10:05Speaker 1: They come down here. We go up there. We're all
- 10:07Speaker 1: one big operation. Hey, we got a lot to get
- 10:10Speaker 1: to coming up. Don't forget Buck and Clay will be
- 10:12Speaker 1: here at noon today. Sean Hannity at three. The most
- 10:16Speaker 1: listened to radio show in America. Jimmy Fela. What a
- 10:19Speaker 1: funny show. Actually, he'll be with us in the next hour.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Coming up on 710WOR.
