- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi guys, Hi friend, how's it going. Oh, it's so
- 0:04Speaker 1: good to see your face. It's so good to see
- 0:07Speaker 1: you guys. Listen, Okay, let's start this off right, Okay.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Valerie Burton Ellie is an angel. Yeah. I knew that
- 0:15Speaker 1: was going to happen. Oh my goodness, gracious. So I
- 0:19Speaker 1: didn't even have to write a letter. My agent reached
- 0:22Speaker 1: out to her manager and was like, is there any
- 0:25Speaker 1: way Valerie would do this for Donald? And she said yes,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and she hooked it up. She hooked it up so
- 0:33Speaker 1: much that when we played the message for my daughter,
- 0:36Speaker 1: there was silence for a bit, and then all of
- 0:38Speaker 1: a sudden, my daughter started crying. No, yes, she started crying,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and my wife was like, why are you crying? She said,
- 0:47Speaker 1: it's just so hot in here right now. She got clemped.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Good for Valerie Burton Elly. I told you that would happen,
- 0:59Speaker 1: you just to do it, and you did it. I
- 1:01Speaker 1: can't believe it. Listen. I gotta do something nice for Valerie.
- 1:04Speaker 1: And from from what my daughter's told me, she likes cats,
- 1:10Speaker 1: lemons and puzzles, so I got to figure something out
- 1:13Speaker 1: in that way. My wife is looking at a bunch
- 1:15Speaker 1: of like lemon trees right now to buy Valerie. I'm
- 1:18Speaker 1: sure she has some already, but we're trying to hook
- 1:20Speaker 1: it up for you. Valerie. I know you don't. You
- 1:22Speaker 1: probably don't listen to the podcast, but let me just
- 1:25Speaker 1: put it out there to all of you out there
- 1:26Speaker 1: who was asking if Valerie came through. Valerie came through. Well,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I just want to say. My father used to say,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't. I've told this story before.
- 1:35Speaker 1: My father used to tell this story. I have no
- 1:37Speaker 1: idea if it's true or not, but it was. It
- 1:39Speaker 1: was inspirational to me. And he said, the Queen of
- 1:42Speaker 1: England came to New York City to do you know,
- 1:47Speaker 1: things you do as a diplomat or whatever a queen
- 1:50Speaker 1: And she only went to one store. She went shopping
- 1:53Speaker 1: at Bloomingdale. And the media was going crazy like, how
- 1:56Speaker 1: did you get the Queen of England of all places
- 1:59Speaker 1: to come shopping and blue like the best press ever?
- 2:01Speaker 1: How did you guys do it? And they said, we
- 2:03Speaker 1: asked her and my father always told that story and
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's always been an inspiration to me. And you simply
- 2:11Speaker 1: did it? Donald? You? You? You? You asked her and
- 2:14Speaker 1: she said yes, and she is amazing for saying yes,
- 2:17Speaker 1: you know, she was amazing before that, but just to
- 2:20Speaker 1: do that for Wilder. They shared the same birthday, but
- 2:23Speaker 1: just to do that for Wilder is so special. And
- 2:26Speaker 1: I know Wilder really really really loved it because she
- 2:30Speaker 1: showed all of her friends, and her friends were like, oh,
- 2:34Speaker 1: that's great. But all of the parents when they saw
- 2:37Speaker 1: the video, they were going crazy. The parents were like,
- 2:39Speaker 1: oh my god, you got Valerie Burton Nellie to wish
- 2:42Speaker 1: you a happy birthday. It's just it's so amazing. I
- 2:46Speaker 1: love that she like, did she fan her eyes? Did
- 2:48Speaker 1: she do this thing? She didn't do the fanning of
- 2:50Speaker 1: the eyes, but she you know, she looked at it
- 2:53Speaker 1: and just I was We were shocked because she didn't
- 2:55Speaker 1: say anything. We were expecting like this scream of happiness.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's like this abundance of joy to just blow from her,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and she was in complete shock. Then she started crying
- 3:07Speaker 1: and we were like, why are you crying? She's like
- 3:09Speaker 1: it so well, I have a present coming for her.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It's belated, but it's it's all good. It's all good. Well,
- 3:19Speaker 1: you know, I'm out of town right now, and when
- 3:21Speaker 1: I get back, this show airs the day I get back.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So when I get back, I'm going to spoil the
- 3:26Speaker 1: crap out of my daughter. Uh. You know, when I
- 3:31Speaker 1: was a kid, I would call well, in my twenties,
- 3:33Speaker 1: I would call it my birthday month. She's gonna have
- 3:36Speaker 1: a birthday month, even though the months almost over. I'm
- 3:40Speaker 1: gonna do as much as I possibly can to make
- 3:42Speaker 1: her even more happy than she was. The kids are
- 3:46Speaker 1: gonna be so excited to see you. I'm glad you're home. Oh,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I can't wait to see those lovelies. I can't wait
- 3:51Speaker 1: to see my wife. To be honest with you, you know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'm poor, poor gal. I'm going to I'm going to
- 3:57Speaker 1: be civilized and I will not pre sure my wife
- 4:00Speaker 1: into any type of fornication. She's probably excited for some fornication.
- 4:06Speaker 1: She just probably should limber up because it's been a bit.
- 4:09Speaker 1: She might want to just do some basic pilates or
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, just due to peloton whatever it is that
- 4:16Speaker 1: you want to do, whatever it takes for you to
- 4:19Speaker 1: get ready for this action, for relations or the tails
- 4:23Speaker 1: with this script, there's a lot of relations in this episode.
- 4:25Speaker 1: One an episode. I gotta tell you, I laughed my
- 4:27Speaker 1: butt off. Let me who directed this episode? Well, listen,
- 4:31Speaker 1: are you really asking that? Yeah? Yeah, it was me.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I knew it. Now listen, I gotta tell you something.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And I don't mean to toot my own horn, you guys,
- 4:40Speaker 1: but I'm but get ready for it too, too, because
- 4:42Speaker 1: what I always do is when I'm watching an episode
- 4:45Speaker 1: and I think it's well directed, I always grab this
- 4:47Speaker 1: little sheet I have that Joel made forest and I'm like,
- 4:49Speaker 1: who we directed this one? It's well done. And then
- 4:52Speaker 1: I because I didn't remember from Yeah, I didn't remember
- 4:54Speaker 1: this either, buddy, and I looked down and I'm like, oh,
- 4:56Speaker 1: it's me. And I'm not just saying this because I writed,
- 5:00Speaker 1: fucking this is a really good episode. Bill Callahan wrote it.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's very very, very funny. I mean there's there's a lot,
- 5:05Speaker 1: there's a high joke ratio. There's just joke joke joke
- 5:10Speaker 1: joke joke. It's really well photographed, I must say. And
- 5:15Speaker 1: I laughed a lot. Did you did you like it?
- 5:17Speaker 1: I laughed a lot. I knew I knew you directed
- 5:20Speaker 1: it too, and I and I I was because I
- 5:23Speaker 1: was out with my cast mates before this. We were
- 5:25Speaker 1: having our final brunch together like a you know, the
- 5:28Speaker 1: final hangout before you know, we all say I do
- 5:32Speaker 1: and um. When I was watching the episode when it
- 5:36Speaker 1: was over, I was like, I think Zach directed that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And I went to rewind it to look, but it
- 5:43Speaker 1: was already five oh one, and I was like, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: gotta get on this call. I gotta get on his
- 5:46Speaker 1: zoom or and but in my mind, I was like,
- 5:49Speaker 1: Zach had to have directed this. This has Zach's stamp
- 5:53Speaker 1: all over it, like it feels like something you would
- 5:56Speaker 1: have done. You know. This was the very different from
- 5:58Speaker 1: the other one that we always joke, my first one,
- 6:00Speaker 1: because it's it's basically contained solely to the hospital and
- 6:03Speaker 1: you know some there's some apartment sets and a restaurant set,
- 6:06Speaker 1: but it's it's very contained. And I think that I
- 6:09Speaker 1: was trying to to show like, all right, well, what
- 6:11Speaker 1: you know, we've seen so many Scrubs episodes at this point,
- 6:14Speaker 1: what can I do to add a bit of style
- 6:17Speaker 1: to this one that's relatively contained? And I came up
- 6:21Speaker 1: with some of these motifs. There's this sort of window
- 6:24Speaker 1: motif coming into different scenes in and out of windows,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and in fact, the very last beat of the of
- 6:30Speaker 1: the episode, I closed the window and and that's that's
- 6:33Speaker 1: sort of hyper speed imagination thing. I think that was
- 6:37Speaker 1: that was written. But I mean, how do you how
- 6:39Speaker 1: do you go through like what could have been very quickly?
- 6:43Speaker 1: And m I thought that was really really a cool
- 6:45Speaker 1: thing to do. I remember this episode because this is
- 6:48Speaker 1: the episode that you that JD and Kydlie break up in,
- 6:52Speaker 1: and I remember that there was this there's a huge
- 6:56Speaker 1: argument at the end, and I remember thinking, Wow, the
- 6:59Speaker 1: two characters really went in on each other at the
- 7:02Speaker 1: end of this episode, and uh, which is rare for
- 7:05Speaker 1: a relationship that hasn't that where there are no stakes involved. Really,
- 7:09Speaker 1: like you, all you guys have done is kissed really
- 7:11Speaker 1: and so for you to she's let's get into the show.
- 7:15Speaker 1: We count it, let's do it, Saturn stories about show
- 7:20Speaker 1: we made about a bunch of dots and nurses and said,
- 7:26Speaker 1: he's the stories so YadA around here? Are yeata around here?
- 7:40Speaker 1: M Hi Daniel, hw' joel. How's it going, buddy, guys,
- 7:46Speaker 1: I'm having fun. I am you know. I had a
- 7:50Speaker 1: streak bustered today. Uh at this brunch I did. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: did partake in some booze, some libations like marrying no
- 8:01Speaker 1: I had a vodka martini whoa at brunch? Ballsy? Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 1: very ballsy and uh but I did. The streak gets broken.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna start a new streak. But I will say that.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I will say this, my plant based situation is pretty cool. Man. Like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I gotta tell you something ahead. I've never poohed so
- 8:22Speaker 1: lovely in my life. Yeah, my lovely. Yeah, in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: words of in the words it felt good. Oh my god,
- 8:31Speaker 1: poo feels good right now, like really good. Like I'm
- 8:34Speaker 1: so excited. I'm going to need that as a thing
- 8:36Speaker 1: for the sound. I'm gonna be honest with you. Poo
- 8:40Speaker 1: feels good. It does, it does. It's like, oh god,
- 8:43Speaker 1: it feels good. Like. That's how regular it is now,
- 8:47Speaker 1: whereas before without the water, you know, you're hydrated and
- 8:50Speaker 1: you're not. I'm sorry to grow. Somebody go into details.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I think my poo is good? Is enough for the audience, Okay,
- 8:56Speaker 1: there we go. Anything, Yeah, any my J shaped her
- 9:04Speaker 1: or a letter JA, as long as it's a deuced Yes.
- 9:08Speaker 1: We we weren't allowed to say that. We were allowed
- 9:10Speaker 1: to see so much stuff in scrubs, but we were
- 9:13Speaker 1: not allowed to describe a pooh as a coil or
- 9:15Speaker 1: a letter J. In THEE it turned into will figure
- 9:19Speaker 1: out What's wrong with you? As long as it's a
- 9:22Speaker 1: deuced Yes, a lot as funny as a coili or
- 9:25Speaker 1: a letter J. It's so funny, you know what the
- 9:30Speaker 1: sensors um. You know, we had a bcality joke last week,
- 9:34Speaker 1: but we weren't allowed to describe the coil shape of
- 9:36Speaker 1: a of a Pooh. But anyway, you know, UM, I
- 9:40Speaker 1: want to say the two things. I watched this Ana
- 9:42Speaker 1: Kendrick movie on Netflix called Stowaway. It was really good.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Never seen it. I recommend it just came out. It
- 9:52Speaker 1: is about UM. Without spoilers, it is about UM. Three
- 9:57Speaker 1: people who have been chosen to go to Mars too.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I think they're going from Mars for the first time
- 10:06Speaker 1: and I yeah, it's like you know where, it's the
- 10:09Speaker 1: point in history when the travel to Mars and back
- 10:12Speaker 1: takes two years and these people are are headed there
- 10:16Speaker 1: for a mission and shit goes awry along the way.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I know that I heard of this somebody stows away
- 10:23Speaker 1: and I don't ruin it for people, don't. I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 1: it's called stowaway. You can imagine there's a Stoway, but
- 10:28Speaker 1: it's in the promo though, they only have enough food
- 10:31Speaker 1: for two people and how do they survive? Oxygen? And
- 10:36Speaker 1: I tried not to spoil it for you guys, but
- 10:38Speaker 1: Donald says, it's in the trailer. But it's really really
- 10:40Speaker 1: good script. And I like Anna Kendrick. I think she
- 10:43Speaker 1: does a great job and and I don't know, it's
- 10:47Speaker 1: really really well done. So I recommend that to you.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And the other thing I loved, which I've been procrassing
- 10:51Speaker 1: because the Oscars are tonight. We were recording on Sunday
- 10:53Speaker 1: and I was procrastinating watching The Father for some reason
- 10:56Speaker 1: because it's the Anthony Hopkins Olivia Coleman film. When I thought,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I think I know what that is, I'm going I'm
- 11:02Speaker 1: not gonna. I don't know if I'm in the mood
- 11:05Speaker 1: for it. It It sounds really dour. My brother said, you
- 11:08Speaker 1: got to watch it, and I we have a similar taste.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And I watch it and it is amazing. Have you
- 11:12Speaker 1: guys seen it? No, I haven't seen any of the
- 11:15Speaker 1: movies nominated this year to be I highly recommend The Father.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It is again no spoilers, but all I can say
- 11:21Speaker 1: is it's about an older man losing his memory. But
- 11:26Speaker 1: the way the director and the script tell the story,
- 11:30Speaker 1: you start to feel like you're losing your memory. And
- 11:33Speaker 1: I've never I've never seen a film like this. It's
- 11:35Speaker 1: very innovative. Um. The storytelling is such that you can't
- 11:41Speaker 1: help but start to feel the troubles of the protagonist
- 11:45Speaker 1: in your own mind. You're just what I can't. I
- 11:48Speaker 1: don't want to ruin anything for you. But and apparently
- 11:50Speaker 1: it's based on a play, And the whole time I'm thinking,
- 11:53Speaker 1: oh my god, this must have been so fascinating as
- 11:55Speaker 1: a play. Um, I think the I think the the
- 11:58Speaker 1: the play right adapted his own play into a screenplay.
- 12:03Speaker 1: But anyway, I don't just think it's a sad story
- 12:06Speaker 1: about an old man losing his memory. It is that,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but it's incredibly told and don't miss it. Well, I
- 12:13Speaker 1: gotta say something really quick. Go ahead. I'm so upset
- 12:16Speaker 1: at you, Zach. What did I do wrong? Because you
- 12:19Speaker 1: freaking did the Morpheus to me? Man, you told me
- 12:23Speaker 1: to take the red or the blue pill, and now
- 12:26Speaker 1: my life is flipped upside down, like look, I'm not
- 12:31Speaker 1: eating meat anymore. I'm not either, man, dude, you you
- 12:38Speaker 1: freaking opened up the matrix to me and now I
- 12:41Speaker 1: am pissed off at you because you said you're feeling
- 12:44Speaker 1: good and you're loving it, yes, no doubt. But listen, man,
- 12:47Speaker 1: I look, I'm looking at all my friends enjoy steak.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm looking at all my friends enjoy chicken. I'm looking
- 12:52Speaker 1: at all my friends enjoy fish and everything like that.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And all I can do is sit there and be judgmental.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Like you guys have no idea what you're eating? Well,
- 12:59Speaker 1: you don't you doing it. I'm trying my hardest not to.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I can't help it. Man, Listen, I can only tell
- 13:06Speaker 1: you that I feel great, and of course I just don't.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Maybe we're different, you you you might. I'm not really
- 13:12Speaker 1: craving um it. No I will, and I'm not saying
- 13:16Speaker 1: and I don't want. I'm the last thing I want
- 13:18Speaker 1: to do is prostize, and I'm not saying that I'm
- 13:20Speaker 1: going to be able to do it forever. I am
- 13:23Speaker 1: two months into it, no alcohol, no animal products, and
- 13:27Speaker 1: I have to tell you that I feel better than
- 13:29Speaker 1: I ever have. That's great, and I understand because you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: when I was sipping my uh vaka martini today, I
- 13:37Speaker 1: was like, damn, there it goes that streak down the street.
- 13:42Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean you know. You know, another thing
- 13:45Speaker 1: my my therapist has said related to the streak was
- 13:48Speaker 1: don't okay, so you so you fell off the wagon
- 13:51Speaker 1: or you broke your streak. That's that's just step one,
- 13:54Speaker 1: step two, three four. Where you fuck up is then
- 13:56Speaker 1: go ah, fuck it, I fell out of the streak.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Fuck it, let's just have a fuck. Let's just everything like, no,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you get it right back on the horse. I mean,
- 14:03Speaker 1: that's that's the key. Don't don't go. You know people
- 14:05Speaker 1: that say, oh, I'm gonna, I'm not gonna I'm gonna
- 14:08Speaker 1: go to the gym three times a week, and they go,
- 14:10Speaker 1: they skip one, then they skip two, and then they go, ah,
- 14:13Speaker 1: fuck it, I fell off the wagon. Fuck the gym. No,
- 14:15Speaker 1: that's where people really fall off. It's like, no, no, okay,
- 14:18Speaker 1: that happens. Shit happens. Get back on the horse, you know. Yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: you know that's that That is the trick, and you
- 14:27Speaker 1: know it's it's it's very interesting because this show's coming
- 14:31Speaker 1: to an end and we're all we're saying goodbye to
- 14:34Speaker 1: each other and everything like that. I find that it's
- 14:36Speaker 1: harder to drink water now because you know, now I'm
- 14:39Speaker 1: not buying water every day because I have I'm leaving
- 14:43Speaker 1: in a couple of days, you know what I mean.
- 14:45Speaker 1: So it's like the water that I have now, I'm
- 14:47Speaker 1: gonna try and sustain until I bounced, because I don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: want to continue to I don't want to overbuy, like
- 14:53Speaker 1: I have stuff in my frist Like. Okay, so when
- 14:55Speaker 1: I first got here, I put all of this fish
- 14:58Speaker 1: because I was like, I'm gonna eat fish. And then
- 15:01Speaker 1: I watched c spiracy and now this fish is rotting.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Well it's not rotting. It's not rotting, but it's sitting
- 15:07Speaker 1: in my freezer. Well you could have given it to
- 15:08Speaker 1: someone who isn't trying to be Um, ain't nobody gonna
- 15:12Speaker 1: take my fish way? I'm sure there's a neighbor in
- 15:14Speaker 1: your building. No, nobody wants that fit. I don't know
- 15:17Speaker 1: none of these people. Actually, if I ever saw a
- 15:19Speaker 1: bag that was like by the elevator, free fish, I'm
- 15:22Speaker 1: not gonna eat that. Okay, well, definitely don't do that.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But there's probably like a shelter something you could like
- 15:28Speaker 1: be like, I have all this rosen fish, I mean
- 15:31Speaker 1: rosen fish. It used to be a dream I want
- 15:34Speaker 1: to say to you all. You know, Donald and I
- 15:37Speaker 1: really responded to this documentary C Spiracy as many people have.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It's been number one all around the world. Um, and
- 15:44Speaker 1: I know there's a lot of people that say, yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: like you know, a lot of what he says is true,
- 15:48Speaker 1: but he's exaggerating here, here and here. Well guess what.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Just like Donald reached out to Valerie Bertonilly, I reached
- 15:55Speaker 1: out to the creators of C Spiracy and they've agreed
- 15:58Speaker 1: to come on our show. I love it so, um,
- 16:01Speaker 1: you know, this documentary was very impactful to me and
- 16:04Speaker 1: I I, like everyone else, I want to ask him, like, hey,
- 16:06Speaker 1: if if one third of what you said is true,
- 16:09Speaker 1: I'm I'm down you you you you got me. But
- 16:13Speaker 1: let's let's discuss some of the critiques of it. You know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: it's not I'm gonna we're gonna be good. We're gonna
- 16:17Speaker 1: be good interviewers. We're not just gonna um fall Yeah,
- 16:21Speaker 1: We're not gonna be We're not just gonna fawn. We're
- 16:23Speaker 1: gonna we're gonna challenge him like good interviewers and say, hey,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know you've been critiqued for X, Y and Z.
- 16:28Speaker 1: What's your response to that, But needless to say, he
- 16:32Speaker 1: and his wife really opened my eyes to U. Two
- 16:35Speaker 1: things I didn't know about, um, you know, the fishing industry,
- 16:40Speaker 1: well not just that, and also game Changer. Man, the
- 16:43Speaker 1: game changer, I didn't you know some of the big
- 16:46Speaker 1: some of the best athletes in the world right now,
- 16:49Speaker 1: record holders Tom Brady, who is old as fucking should
- 16:54Speaker 1: not be playing football right now, Like there's nobody his
- 16:57Speaker 1: age doing it the way he's doing it. But because
- 17:00Speaker 1: of his plant based diet, inflammation isn't an issue for
- 17:06Speaker 1: him anymore, you know what I mean. And so he's
- 17:08Speaker 1: able to put that could because as you get older,
- 17:11Speaker 1: that's the one thing that you deal with, like my back, oh,
- 17:15Speaker 1: my legs, and that's all inflammation. And when you're on
- 17:18Speaker 1: a plant based diet, you don't necessarily have to worry
- 17:22Speaker 1: about those things as much, and you can and you
- 17:24Speaker 1: recover faster. And so yeah, Donald's talking about another one
- 17:28Speaker 1: that we watch called game Changers, which if you if
- 17:30Speaker 1: you want to let it's a softer intro into this conversation,
- 17:33Speaker 1: if you don't want to go right to the pain
- 17:36Speaker 1: that's being caused animals. Game Changers is more focused on
- 17:39Speaker 1: an mma fighter who decided to go plant based and
- 17:43Speaker 1: what happened to his recovery. But anyway, we will stop
- 17:47Speaker 1: talking about this for now, but it's a conversation that
- 17:49Speaker 1: certainly intrigues Donald and I and um, let's talk about Scrubs,
- 17:54Speaker 1: the TV show. Okay, let's get into it. First of all,
- 17:57Speaker 1: how fast did JD get undressed once he thought he
- 17:59Speaker 1: was about to have sex with Kylie? There are so
- 18:03Speaker 1: many laughs, and you know, I I when I take
- 18:05Speaker 1: notes for the episode, I write down, like, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 1: things that made me laugh. I've got two three full
- 18:11Speaker 1: pages of We're not even to get to all the
- 18:13Speaker 1: ship that made me laugh? Yeah, but the first was Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: So I've been on a four week booty embargo because
- 18:19Speaker 1: Kylie has decided that we're not gonna I don't even
- 18:22Speaker 1: it doesn't even seem like we're doing anything besides kissing,
- 18:25Speaker 1: Like she's not even you're not even touching. Yeah, I
- 18:28Speaker 1: don't think we're groping or what did I say people
- 18:31Speaker 1: call it? There's certainly no filatio kind of lingus, but
- 18:34Speaker 1: I don't know if they're heavy petting. That's what our
- 18:36Speaker 1: parents used to call it, right, there's no heavy petting,
- 18:39Speaker 1: which is a funny, the furthest He's gotten his first base.
- 18:42Speaker 1: For all of those who are wondering what we're talking about,
- 18:45Speaker 1: first base, that's it. It seems to me that they're
- 18:48Speaker 1: solely kissing. But I get it. She's a knockout beauty
- 18:51Speaker 1: of a woman. She's smart, she's funny. He's very into her.
- 18:54Speaker 1: He's he's saying, whatever whatever you want. Well, I'm being
- 18:58Speaker 1: as patient as I can. Um, but it's funny. I
- 19:01Speaker 1: laughed when I go. She goes, I got you something. God,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I hope it's sex or a pony. I'll bet it's sex,
- 19:07Speaker 1: because I don't see a pony. There's no way JAD
- 19:17Speaker 1: wanted sex on the same level as a pony. Well,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I mean, pony comes once in a lifetime sex. I
- 19:23Speaker 1: believe you could get it again. I know. But the
- 19:25Speaker 1: poor guy is really willed up. We learn. We learned
- 19:28Speaker 1: very soon after that he's going home and pleasuring. What
- 19:31Speaker 1: do I say? I go, I go to visit you guys, right, wait,
- 19:34Speaker 1: hold on, you tell us, you tell us that you've
- 19:37Speaker 1: done it already. But then you're like, I'm gonna stick.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I'm going now it's time for my lightly ritual nightly
- 19:43Speaker 1: ritual and now it's time for my nightly ritual pleasure
- 19:46Speaker 1: myself a weep and repeat. Um yeah. So well back
- 19:53Speaker 1: when I'm there and she turns around, I'm naked, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: then I'm trying to cover because that's not what she
- 19:58Speaker 1: got me a license place for Sasha, and I say, oh, no, no,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I'm just doing laundry. I assume your facilities are in building.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And then I go, I'm just really proud of my
- 20:11Speaker 1: abs or ab u. And now you and Carla are
- 20:19Speaker 1: in a bad place. You're arguing about everything. You claim
- 20:22Speaker 1: that she's making mountains out of mole hills. What she
- 20:25Speaker 1: kind of is you know, the toothplate, the toothpaste line
- 20:29Speaker 1: is hilarious. You know, turk. If you can't put the
- 20:31Speaker 1: cap on the toothpaste, how are we supposed to ever
- 20:33Speaker 1: have children? Right? But I do there are things that
- 20:36Speaker 1: like Couples like little things. I mean the classics, you know,
- 20:40Speaker 1: the classic trophy one is the toilet seat putting out
- 20:43Speaker 1: up and down. But there are little things that drive
- 20:46Speaker 1: couples crazy. Yeah I do. I would not be down
- 20:49Speaker 1: with a messy toothpaste tube. I like it very very nice.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I don't want it. I don't want to all the
- 20:54Speaker 1: gunk call over the top and roll. You can't be
- 20:57Speaker 1: married to Casey, then why would she do Casey squeeze?
- 21:01Speaker 1: First of all, Casey squeezes the shit out of the toothpaste, right,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and it doesn't matter where it's from. Like I'm the
- 21:06Speaker 1: type of person that's like, all right, let's do it
- 21:08Speaker 1: from the bottom, so we always have the toothpaste, just
- 21:12Speaker 1: with the toothpaste something like that. Casey's like she'll grab
- 21:15Speaker 1: it from the middle and just squeeze, sacrilege, and I'll
- 21:18Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, that's the ugliest toothpaste canister
- 21:21Speaker 1: I've ever seen in my life. Now, But I totally,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I totally hear this. Like my my wife is we
- 21:30Speaker 1: make we both do it, but we make mountains out
- 21:33Speaker 1: of mole hills easily. Yeah. You know, well, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I think couples can get on each of those nerves
- 21:38Speaker 1: with like little things. It's just little things that irk
- 21:40Speaker 1: you and that make you go. You know, it's it's
- 21:43Speaker 1: so tiny, who cares, But it's just you know, we
- 21:46Speaker 1: all have our little quirks, things that just drive us crazy. Yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 1: like that paper not being replaced, Like come on, let's
- 21:54Speaker 1: let's replace the teletpaper. My wife has a bunch of
- 21:56Speaker 1: them when it comes to me. But she's hard on me.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You know how it goes, Well, she's pretty great, she's amazing.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I'm not saying she's not amazing, but she's hard on me. Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 1: She she expects the best and she deserves the best.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So you know, um, the janitor I really didn't remember
- 22:15Speaker 1: the level of the janitor's crush on Elliott. I for
- 22:18Speaker 1: some reason, I didn't remember that. I mean, he's really
- 22:20Speaker 1: pining for her, Yeah, so much so that he's he
- 22:24Speaker 1: bets doctor Cox that there will be dating, uh, that
- 22:29Speaker 1: they're gonna go that they are dating. And and it's
- 22:32Speaker 1: a big bet. It's for his for his porsche, but
- 22:35Speaker 1: it's for the janitor's van. Janitor puts his van up
- 22:38Speaker 1: for doctor Cox's Porsche, right and Elliott he you know
- 22:43Speaker 1: Elliott and doctor Cox are you know they don't you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: Elliott doesn't like Cox very much, or if she does
- 22:51Speaker 1: like him, she hates the fact that he's always interrupting hers,
- 22:54Speaker 1: fucking with her. We see in the ICU he's embarrassing
- 22:58Speaker 1: her in front of her residence and and you know
- 23:00Speaker 1: he's always fucking with her and for no reason, and
- 23:03Speaker 1: so she has a motivation to try and get back.
- 23:06Speaker 1: The janitor comes to comes to Elliot and says, look,
- 23:09Speaker 1: I have a bet going. Will you help me out?
- 23:12Speaker 1: We got he's got a trick Cox to think that
- 23:14Speaker 1: we're on a date. And then I get his Porsche
- 23:16Speaker 1: and she's like, yeah, fuck that guy, let's do it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Let's do it right, and he says the janitor says,
- 23:21Speaker 1: I just want a house in the burbs, Volvo in
- 23:23Speaker 1: the driveway, dog fighting ring in my basement, basement. That's
- 23:28Speaker 1: not funny. It's not funny. It's not funny. Is not funny,
- 23:34Speaker 1: But the janitor having it be one of his dreams
- 23:36Speaker 1: is funny. I'm sorry, I understand, but there are a
- 23:38Speaker 1: bunch of animal lovers out there at a like, fuck you,
- 23:41Speaker 1: Zach right now, I'm just gonna put it sorry. I
- 23:43Speaker 1: do not support having a dog fighting ring anywhere period.
- 23:46Speaker 1: But the janitor pitching it as one of his dreams
- 23:50Speaker 1: had the Graham's back. Yeah, and holy shit, does she
- 23:54Speaker 1: look beautiful. She's always beautiful, I know, but you know,
- 23:57Speaker 1: we shot her with the backlight of the slow motion
- 24:00Speaker 1: and the lingerie, and um, she looks fuego, dude. There
- 24:04Speaker 1: are moments in this show where I was like, oh boy,
- 24:09Speaker 1: oh boy, oh boy. I mean you guys, when you
- 24:11Speaker 1: guys crash into the bedroom at the end of the show,
- 24:14Speaker 1: she looks and you pull the pants the dress down. Yeah, naughty.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got in the hallway when you got
- 24:22Speaker 1: a movement. Well I didn't. I wasn't gonna say that,
- 24:25Speaker 1: but I definitely felt some kind of way. Oh, I
- 24:28Speaker 1: was feeling great that my directorial work may have given
- 24:31Speaker 1: my best friend movement. I wasn't gonna say that because
- 24:34Speaker 1: you did it just shift a little. There was there
- 24:36Speaker 1: was like there was like a little yeah and like
- 24:38Speaker 1: a centimeter. It just moved like sorry to use the
- 24:40Speaker 1: metric system, but your peep shifted like a centimeter, like
- 24:43Speaker 1: there was right there was. It was yeah, if it
- 24:45Speaker 1: were if it were, if it were a clock, yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it went from it went from six to six to
- 24:54Speaker 1: six yeah. Whatever it is, like it wouldn't be pointing
- 24:58Speaker 1: up what's down, so it'd be like, oh so I
- 25:00Speaker 1: went to like six. If it was at six thirty,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it went to thirty five, Yes, exactly. Mine was like
- 25:08Speaker 1: you know when your dog is like lying in like
- 25:09Speaker 1: asleep and then it hears a squirrel and does a
- 25:12Speaker 1: little look up. Yeah, that's my Peepac did like it
- 25:18Speaker 1: hurt a squirrel? It like squirrel? Anyway she was it
- 25:22Speaker 1: was it's a dude. First of all, this is this
- 25:26Speaker 1: is every one's not just men, but women too. This
- 25:31Speaker 1: is a issue that we all have. Can we be
- 25:35Speaker 1: friends with our exes and still maintain a proper relationship
- 25:43Speaker 1: with your current or yourn here's my thinking about this,
- 25:47Speaker 1: and I want to hear everyone's opinion on this, but
- 25:49Speaker 1: I think sure, if it's an occasional hey, how you doing.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Saw the kids on Instagram? Glad? Things are going so well? Whatever,
- 25:57Speaker 1: you know, people definitely crawl us the line, and that's
- 26:01Speaker 1: that's where the trust is broken. Is It's one thing
- 26:04Speaker 1: to be like, hey, small talk, small talk, small talk,
- 26:07Speaker 1: But if what Turk is doing in this episode is
- 26:09Speaker 1: so fucking out of line, cracking up she doesn't know
- 26:14Speaker 1: he's married, I can't wait to visit you. They're like
- 26:16Speaker 1: giggling like that would fucking make anyone's feelings hurt, right,
- 26:20Speaker 1: I know for a fact if my wife was talking well,
- 26:22Speaker 1: I don't know for a fact, but if she was
- 26:24Speaker 1: talking to her ex. Boy, Like, if I see her,
- 26:26Speaker 1: if we're out and ex approaches us, I'm gonna choke
- 26:30Speaker 1: him out, you know what I mean. Like, that's just
- 26:32Speaker 1: how I am with it all. Joel, you might feel
- 26:34Speaker 1: a different kind of way, but best I don't give
- 26:37Speaker 1: a fun like dog respect the situation. Man, you had
- 26:40Speaker 1: your chance, it's over. So you don't stay friends with
- 26:44Speaker 1: any of your exes. I'm not friends with any of
- 26:46Speaker 1: my exes, no wild What about you, Joel and Danel?
- 26:49Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on this controversial topic. If we
- 26:53Speaker 1: ended well and we're buddies, you know, it's fine. If
- 26:56Speaker 1: they're constantly coming around flirting and they don't understand, Like
- 27:00Speaker 1: I definitely there's got to be like new boundaries and
- 27:02Speaker 1: understandings of the relationship. But you know, people are people.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Sometimes the relationship is like, oh you know that just
- 27:08Speaker 1: do didn't work out, But you're so cool person. There's
- 27:10Speaker 1: a reason we got together in the first place. None
- 27:14Speaker 1: of my relationships have ever ended that way. All right,
- 27:17Speaker 1: you're burned the bridge when you leave. Guys, I'm like,
- 27:20Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck you, no fuck me, no fuck you,
- 27:22Speaker 1: no funk do you no fuck me? You know? In action,
- 27:25Speaker 1: movies when the action star is walking away and the
- 27:28Speaker 1: building blows up behind them and they don't turn and
- 27:30Speaker 1: they don't turn around. That's donald that emotion to Carrie,
- 27:38Speaker 1: all right, what about you, Danel? I mean I feel
- 27:40Speaker 1: the same way. I echo that sentiment, like it's it's
- 27:43Speaker 1: really about the attitude that you leave with. I've definitely
- 27:45Speaker 1: had um. I similarly have not had a long term
- 27:50Speaker 1: relationship that has ended that way, but I've had short
- 27:53Speaker 1: term relationships that have certainly ended with friendship and we're
- 27:57Speaker 1: still talking and stuff like that. Short term relate, But
- 28:00Speaker 1: come on, man, short term relationships don't necessarily count because
- 28:02Speaker 1: all the short term relationship was we hooked up once
- 28:05Speaker 1: or twice and that was it, you know what I mean.
- 28:08Speaker 1: But there was love and all of that and commitment
- 28:11Speaker 1: and all of that stuff. You can't freaking you can't
- 28:13Speaker 1: be like, honey, this is my ex honey, I want
- 28:17Speaker 1: us all to get along. That just just doesn't happen.
- 28:20Speaker 1: You just have to be respectful, and I think, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: and it shouldn't personally be like a regular thing. It's like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: you know, I don't I don't think anyone wants to
- 28:29Speaker 1: hear that. You're like regularly chatting with your ex. But
- 28:32Speaker 1: maybe that's an immature perspective. I don't know. But here's
- 28:35Speaker 1: the other thing, though, Like, Okay, I can honestly say
- 28:40Speaker 1: I have been in love three maybe four times in
- 28:45Speaker 1: my life. So there are a lot of relationships that
- 28:47Speaker 1: I was in where it seemed like it might have
- 28:51Speaker 1: been more at the time, but at the end it
- 28:54Speaker 1: was really nothing, you know what I mean. And so
- 28:57Speaker 1: and so I feel like those related ships also fall
- 29:01Speaker 1: in the same category as we hooked up a couple
- 29:04Speaker 1: of times it was nothing though, you know what I mean.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It's when the relationship was something and it broke up
- 29:11Speaker 1: for whatever you know what you know, for whatever reason
- 29:14Speaker 1: it was. You can't look back at that, you know
- 29:16Speaker 1: what I mean. I made that mistake before, and it
- 29:19Speaker 1: is the wrong it is, you know, regardless of what
- 29:23Speaker 1: your life, where you are in life, that's the wrong thing.
- 29:26Speaker 1: That's just me. Well, I I think we can all
- 29:31Speaker 1: agree that Turk, especially in the context of their relationships,
- 29:35Speaker 1: having some troubles. Turk flirting with his college girlfriend and
- 29:39Speaker 1: not telling her that he's married and being like, we
- 29:41Speaker 1: got to hang out is pretty fucked up. He's trying
- 29:43Speaker 1: to have his cake and eat it too. Yes, and
- 29:45Speaker 1: we will talk more about having your cake and eating
- 29:47Speaker 1: it too when we come back from this commercial message.
- 29:51Speaker 1: We'll be right back. A gurgle, gurgle we missed. I
- 30:03Speaker 1: missed the gurgle. You can gurgle. You can gurgle every
- 30:05Speaker 1: now and then. Gurgle, gurgle, Yeah, gurgle, gurgle, gurgle. Take it.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Oh gross Joel's face. Did you see what you did?
- 30:17Speaker 1: You like it is? Trying to brace for it. It
- 30:20Speaker 1: just kept coming. I kept coming, all right. Speaking of
- 30:35Speaker 1: Thunder's applause and turning your key, I got a shout
- 30:37Speaker 1: out Sean McBean from the graphic designer from Power Puff.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I hope I'm saying your name right. If not, I
- 30:46Speaker 1: will find out before we But this brother hooked it
- 30:50Speaker 1: up for us. Motherfucker's He fucking made a turn your
- 30:55Speaker 1: We each get a key that we can turn, then
- 31:00Speaker 1: a nuclear button to push. Why I can't he must
- 31:05Speaker 1: be a set dresser. He's not a No, he's a
- 31:07Speaker 1: graphic designer. So he did that, and he also did
- 31:10Speaker 1: for the show. He also made me a lightsaber and
- 31:13Speaker 1: he also got me an e Walk self from the
- 31:17Speaker 1: original e Walk cartoon. That I was telling, which is
- 31:23Speaker 1: nap first of all, which is now on Disney Plus.
- 31:25Speaker 1: So like they have the Vintage collection on Disney Plus
- 31:27Speaker 1: right now, and you can watch the cartoon from Celebration.
- 31:30Speaker 1: You can watch the e Walk cartoon. You can you
- 31:33Speaker 1: can't watch Droids. Droids not on it, but you can
- 31:35Speaker 1: watch the original Clone Wars cartoon, which was created by
- 31:38Speaker 1: the guy who did Samurai Jack Ukovsky, right, who I
- 31:44Speaker 1: think has some connection to Powerpuff Girls. Sure does. Is
- 31:47Speaker 1: one of the shows he worked on. He was an
- 31:49Speaker 1: animator on that show, and then he did Dexter's Lab
- 31:52Speaker 1: and then Samurai Jack. All I gotta say is there's
- 31:55Speaker 1: a rumor out there that the Professor Professor Utonium is Samurai.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Now that's been dispelled and everything like that, But wouldn't
- 32:02Speaker 1: it be awesome? Yeah, it's a fun fan theory. Wouldn't
- 32:08Speaker 1: it be awesome if somewhere down the line, if the
- 32:12Speaker 1: Powerpuff Girls gets picked up, I'm swinging a Samurai sword.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'm just putting it out there. I'm ready, I'm all
- 32:20Speaker 1: for it. I'm all for it. Anyway, should we talk
- 32:23Speaker 1: about Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Um? Yeah, how did you? Yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 1: let's do a quick a bit on that. Let's do
- 32:29Speaker 1: a quick I loved it. I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 32:34Speaker 1: That speech that Mackie gives at the end is right
- 32:38Speaker 1: on point. Um. You know, it's you know, the best
- 32:43Speaker 1: way to I guess nullified trolls is to shout him
- 32:48Speaker 1: out right away. And he does it. You know, like
- 32:52Speaker 1: he knew right that, like Marvel knows, everybody knows, a
- 32:55Speaker 1: black captain in America, America might not be ready for
- 32:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Yeah, they just went straight
- 33:01Speaker 1: at it. I like that they just went straight at
- 33:02Speaker 1: it. It It was like very meta. He was like, Yo,
- 33:05Speaker 1: you know, I could feel the stairs through the television
- 33:07Speaker 1: right now, people hating this, And I thought that was
- 33:09Speaker 1: I thought that's I think that's honest. You know, here's
- 33:14Speaker 1: my opinion. I feel like wand Division and Captain America
- 33:19Speaker 1: and The Winter Soldier needed a couple of more episodes
- 33:22Speaker 1: to tie everything up. I feel like all of it's
- 33:26Speaker 1: rushed because however many episodes they have, and so as
- 33:32Speaker 1: as much as I love both shows, I feel like
- 33:36Speaker 1: there's no way you could wrap it all up with
- 33:39Speaker 1: just one episode the way they both did. That's just
- 33:42Speaker 1: me personally. Well, it feels like they're building up for
- 33:45Speaker 1: either a film or another season. Right. I don't know, Joel,
- 33:50Speaker 1: what do you think they really did? By the way,
- 33:52Speaker 1: I knew that it was a black and white bromance,
- 33:55Speaker 1: but since you planted in my head that you know
- 33:58Speaker 1: we were the last, you know, famous black and white bromance,
- 34:03Speaker 1: that they really did jump on our on our bandwagon.
- 34:06Speaker 1: So I would like a cut of all the profits.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I feel like they owe me ten percent. I'm just
- 34:10Speaker 1: gonna put out, Joel, how do you feel about it?
- 34:13Speaker 1: It's let's talk because I don't like it. If I
- 34:16Speaker 1: knew you did, I knew you did. One was the
- 34:18Speaker 1: best and then it just totally jumped to the tracks.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I'll keep it short so we have a lot of
- 34:24Speaker 1: other things to talk about. But a lot of the
- 34:27Speaker 1: secondary characters were not fleshed out enough for me. The
- 34:31Speaker 1: the entire like people's army thing there and then gone,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and then they denarished the lead chick where they were here,
- 34:38Speaker 1: like why did she turn evil? What happened? Very confusing. Um.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I will say the bromance was great. Somebody on Mackie's
- 34:45Speaker 1: speech was like the Juilliard jumped out, and I was like,
- 34:47Speaker 1: it's your dick, because he performed the hell out of
- 34:49Speaker 1: that speech. Yes he did. There's a lot to like,
- 34:52Speaker 1: but for me personally, it's not as a complete a
- 34:55Speaker 1: vision as Wanda Vision was. Um just from started to finish.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Wanda visions like a very clear through line where this
- 35:01Speaker 1: was muddled. And that's not you can't believe Marvel. It's
- 35:04Speaker 1: not their fault, or maybe it is, but they were like, hey,
- 35:07Speaker 1: originally there was a big pandemic, yeah in the show,
- 35:12Speaker 1: and they cut it all up and you can definitely
- 35:16Speaker 1: tell in some scenes and so just oh, there was
- 35:18Speaker 1: all there was a subplot of a pandemic. There was
- 35:21Speaker 1: a subplot of a virus that was killing a lot
- 35:24Speaker 1: of people. And that's what and that's originally what Carly
- 35:30Speaker 1: is that her name on the show, Carly. That's what there.
- 35:32Speaker 1: That's what Carly and the flag Smashers are doing. They're
- 35:36Speaker 1: trying to save all of these people. Like in the
- 35:40Speaker 1: first episode when the Winter Soldier jumps on the truck
- 35:44Speaker 1: and Carly's on the truck, He's like, there's they have
- 35:48Speaker 1: they have a vaccine. That's there, they have vaccine. And
- 35:53Speaker 1: that was for this virus that was supposed I have
- 35:58Speaker 1: I have some thoughts on the fights fights, like, yeah,
- 36:03Speaker 1: I did. I just think, um, sometimes fights are shot
- 36:06Speaker 1: in such a way. I'm not someone who's as a
- 36:09Speaker 1: director photographed an elaborate fight scene. UM, but I think
- 36:14Speaker 1: sometimes you watch a fight and you can you know
- 36:16Speaker 1: where you are, you know the context of the people
- 36:18Speaker 1: in the battle. And then other times it's just like
- 36:21Speaker 1: a collage of like fists and it's just like MAYHEMI
- 36:27Speaker 1: collage and I don't know where everyone is in the room.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I've lost track of the geography of the fight. And
- 36:33Speaker 1: I don't like that as much. I don't know, I
- 36:36Speaker 1: don't think, I don't well, I'll say this, that fight
- 36:39Speaker 1: between H the H Captain America and U George Saint
- 36:45Speaker 1: Pierre where freaking He's doing all the flips and every
- 36:49Speaker 1: where the falcon What Captain America is doing all the
- 36:52Speaker 1: flips that ship was fly to death? To me, I
- 36:54Speaker 1: thought that was so cool. And then when he catches
- 36:56Speaker 1: the punch from Carly and he uses the wings to stop,
- 37:00Speaker 1: you know, to brace himself and everything. I thought that
- 37:03Speaker 1: was very like unique and I would I did not
- 37:06Speaker 1: see like my whole thing was like, how Sam going
- 37:09Speaker 1: to beat these people when they're all super soldiers. But
- 37:13Speaker 1: his costume or his armor like Iron Man, helped him
- 37:18Speaker 1: out completely. So he has no special powers, zero power.
- 37:22Speaker 1: The only power that he has is his ability to
- 37:24Speaker 1: empathize with people, you know what I mean. And that's
- 37:28Speaker 1: what makes him a great Captain America. He can you
- 37:30Speaker 1: know what I mean, he sees why Carly is doing
- 37:33Speaker 1: what she's doing, but he also understands why the government
- 37:37Speaker 1: is doing what they're doing. And he, you know, his
- 37:40Speaker 1: super sam superpower is his ability to talk to soldiers
- 37:45Speaker 1: who need it, you know. And it's always been his
- 37:48Speaker 1: superpower for me as someone who's watching as a filmmaker, going,
- 37:54Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to learn, like you know, in case,
- 37:56Speaker 1: I watched these things that I don't know anything about,
- 37:58Speaker 1: sometimes trying to learn, like let me deconstrud how this
- 38:00Speaker 1: fight was shot and see. And then sometimes I watched
- 38:03Speaker 1: them and I go, Wow, that's that was incredible, Holy shit,
- 38:06Speaker 1: how they do that? And sometimes I and this isn't
- 38:08Speaker 1: just Marvel, I'm saying, and you know, and sometimes I
- 38:12Speaker 1: watch them like I don't like the ultimate example of
- 38:15Speaker 1: this is Transformers, like two giant pieces of metal clashing
- 38:18Speaker 1: against each other. I'm like, I don't know where we are.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is. You're showing me
- 38:22Speaker 1: some piece of metal hitting another piece of metal and
- 38:24Speaker 1: there and then all of a sudden, how do we
- 38:26Speaker 1: get in a warehouse? Right? Yeah? And so it's just
- 38:28Speaker 1: we've I I I appreciate and the direction of fight
- 38:33Speaker 1: sequences where where you the viewer are clear, like where
- 38:38Speaker 1: we are in the context of the room, and it's
- 38:41Speaker 1: not just like tight shots of visual mayhem. Yeah. Anyway,
- 38:46Speaker 1: let's get back to scrub. But a great show it is, Okay, So, uh,
- 38:53Speaker 1: the brain Trust switches crazy? Is this some crazy eyes
- 38:57Speaker 1: Margo's first appearance. No, she's been in the show before,
- 39:00Speaker 1: but this is her first appearance. Maybe this season. Oh
- 39:03Speaker 1: my god. I laughed out loud when when he switches.
- 39:07Speaker 1: First of all, he goes he goes tug boat. He's
- 39:11Speaker 1: trying to get the brain Trust going, and he goes, um, wait,
- 39:16Speaker 1: what's this? I gotta how can I get blonde doctor
- 39:19Speaker 1: to go out on a date with me? And one
- 39:22Speaker 1: what Troy says? Troy says something like you should just
- 39:26Speaker 1: burn her house down? And then no, no, not Troy,
- 39:29Speaker 1: Marty says. Marty says, Marty says, you should just burn
- 39:32Speaker 1: her house down, and then Troy goes, I've got the
- 39:34Speaker 1: perfect plan, but I need a tug boat. Yeah. And
- 39:37Speaker 1: then the janitor says, that's all I ever get from
- 39:39Speaker 1: you guys, tug boats and arson. Yeah, and he goes, Randall,
- 39:44Speaker 1: I saved you from that eagle. Yeah. That family laughs
- 39:47Speaker 1: so hard. That was so funny. And then he goes, marg, well,
- 39:54Speaker 1: I found your birth mother. She was a tree person.
- 39:57Speaker 1: There's no shame in that. Now. I don't even know
- 39:59Speaker 1: what that means, but it was funny, he goes. And
- 40:02Speaker 1: then he goes, you guys are out, and he turns
- 40:05Speaker 1: around and his new brain trust is Doug the todd
- 40:09Speaker 1: and Ted the lawyer, and he goes, guys are and
- 40:12Speaker 1: I need you to focus all your attention on me,
- 40:15Speaker 1: and they all put down what they're doing and listen. Yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 1: they're all excited to hang out with them. I think
- 40:19Speaker 1: that like on the on the in the chain of
- 40:21Speaker 1: who's cool the janitors above the three of them. Yeah,
- 40:25Speaker 1: he's above all of them. Well, when he said I
- 40:28Speaker 1: found your birth mother she was a tree person. That's
- 40:30Speaker 1: one of those things where it just sounds funny. I
- 40:32Speaker 1: don't really even know what it means, but I laughed.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I guess she lives much like the Ewoks. She lives
- 40:37Speaker 1: in a in a tree village. He says, Randall, I
- 40:40Speaker 1: saved you from a fucking eagle. Yeah, an eagle tried
- 40:43Speaker 1: to get Randall. Eagle literally eagle tried to grab Randall
- 40:47Speaker 1: while he was walking down the street. And that is
- 40:50Speaker 1: a scene. He really really, we really were deprived of
- 40:53Speaker 1: a good scene the janitor's saving Randall from the Would
- 40:57Speaker 1: you have directed that scene? Oh? Man, I I would
- 41:00Speaker 1: have spent the whole budget. I uh, that would have
- 41:03Speaker 1: been a crane. Would have been a crane, definitely when
- 41:05Speaker 1: MC crane. We probably would have had done green screen
- 41:08Speaker 1: with a with a CGI eagle, and then we would
- 41:10Speaker 1: have hung Marty. If we would have hung Marty from
- 41:13Speaker 1: some wires and had him scream and then the janitor
- 41:17Speaker 1: jumps up and grabs his lips. Yeah, and then the
- 41:20Speaker 1: janitor would jump up, probably on the green screen and
- 41:23Speaker 1: just be pulling Martie's legs. Oh my god. If anyone
- 41:30Speaker 1: wants to um to fund that, I can. I would
- 41:34Speaker 1: love to get everybody together, you know how they're doing
- 41:43Speaker 1: like NFTs. We could make that as an NFT. The
- 41:46Speaker 1: scene where um, where the janitor saves Marty from an eagle,
- 41:50Speaker 1: we skipped a couple of things. I have a Heather
- 41:52Speaker 1: looking like fire. We covered that. Um. Oh what about
- 41:56Speaker 1: when her patient um goes. Oh he's back. That guy.
- 41:59Speaker 1: He gets to laugh every time he goes. They've landed.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Grab some blankets and all the canned goods you can carry.
- 42:05Speaker 1: We're moving to the sewers. And then he does his
- 42:12Speaker 1: exit like the Kermit the Frog exit where the body
- 42:14Speaker 1: goes first and the heads laughs. Oh yeah, I'm sure,
- 42:17Speaker 1: I said to Bill I was directing. You know, I
- 42:19Speaker 1: would always direct after a week off, so I could,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you know, prep because it prepping in episodes a lot
- 42:24Speaker 1: of work. And the extra bonus was that I would
- 42:26Speaker 1: be around in the writer's room and pitching random jokes
- 42:29Speaker 1: in a way that I couldn't be when we were
- 42:30Speaker 1: making the show because I was on set and I
- 42:33Speaker 1: just I'm sure. I was like Bill, we gotta get
- 42:35Speaker 1: Heather's patient back because that guy was was in my
- 42:38Speaker 1: first episode. That was very funny. And then Elliotts has
- 42:44Speaker 1: fingers like biceps. Oh my god. Then the door closes
- 42:48Speaker 1: and the fingers and when she when she pokes me
- 42:51Speaker 1: and I fall down the other down like a rock
- 42:55Speaker 1: climbing jazz pianist. That's what I say, got fingers like
- 43:00Speaker 1: a rock climbing jazz pianists. But wait, what about when
- 43:05Speaker 1: I go a little Birdie told me that you say,
- 43:09Speaker 1: you say a little birdie and you're not actually having sex?
- 43:12Speaker 1: And I look and it's little nurse Birdie and I go,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I trusted you, well, it's true. And then uh and
- 43:20Speaker 1: then uh. This this part had me rolling. So the
- 43:23Speaker 1: janitor tricks Elliott to going to dinner with him again. Yeah,
- 43:29Speaker 1: and on his way to dinner, he walks outside and
- 43:33Speaker 1: runs into the New brain Trust. Yeah, they go, sorry,
- 43:36Speaker 1: there all deck down. He goes, sorry, guys going out off,
- 43:40Speaker 1: We're going out to the bar. Hoppings off, I have
- 43:43Speaker 1: a date. And Ted the lawyer says, oh, man, I
- 43:49Speaker 1: ironed my going out here, and he has to a
- 43:52Speaker 1: on and then he flinked it two pay to the ground.
- 43:55Speaker 1: What about Rob's outfit? Rob's wearing a mesh T shirt
- 43:59Speaker 1: and let not only is it a mess T shirt,
- 44:02Speaker 1: it's um it's a crop top. It's a mesh crop top.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, Carrie Bennett our costume designer, must have
- 44:08Speaker 1: so much fun dressing Rob. Yeah, it's a mesh crop
- 44:11Speaker 1: top and leather pants. Is that leather pants? Yeah? Tight
- 44:14Speaker 1: leather pants. And then um, and then Johnny Castle has
- 44:18Speaker 1: his has his fanny pack on. He is going out
- 44:22Speaker 1: fannie pack and they're all lying on Cox's Porsche. Porsche. Yeah,
- 44:27Speaker 1: like all four of them. We're gonna get into Porsche.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I guess. Now, what about when I, um, this is
- 44:33Speaker 1: the first appearance of mister Peeps, my talking British penis.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Now is there talking British penis played by the janitor
- 44:38Speaker 1: played by Neil Flynn. Know whose voice was it? I
- 44:41Speaker 1: didn't know. I thought it was Niels, but I could
- 44:44Speaker 1: be wrong. I laughed out loud when I'm like, mister Peeps,
- 44:48Speaker 1: why are you British? And then he got mister peeps goes.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'll explain later. Just lose the extra bitches. It was
- 44:56Speaker 1: like a family guy. What's his name? Yeah, the don't
- 45:00Speaker 1: no Stewie, the baby. I'll explain later. Just lose the
- 45:04Speaker 1: extra bitches. That's a pretty good Stewie. I didn't I
- 45:07Speaker 1: didn't even watch The Family Guy. I just know that
- 45:08Speaker 1: that's kind of what Stewey sounds like, what are you
- 45:11Speaker 1: kidding me? What about when the janitor says I kissed
- 45:14Speaker 1: a dude once? It was at furnace Camp. Furnace Camp.
- 45:19Speaker 1: The janitor was so into janitor like things as a
- 45:24Speaker 1: child that he went to furnace Camp. Always skid thing
- 45:29Speaker 1: something that was funny when the janitor is trying to
- 45:31Speaker 1: bet Cox and the and Cox goes, I have no
- 45:33Speaker 1: need for a crack thermis and two rings of keys.
- 45:38Speaker 1: The kid, Oh that was Johnny Propp. Okay, I'm skipping ahead. No,
- 45:42Speaker 1: we're at the bar and I just spoken to my
- 45:44Speaker 1: British Penis, and you get rid of the two girls,
- 45:47Speaker 1: which are Carla and Elliott. Yeah, and Johnny Props is
- 45:52Speaker 1: the bartender. Yeah, our prop master is the bartender there. Now.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I thought this was really cool this um, the way
- 45:59Speaker 1: that the after me um did this sort of what
- 46:03Speaker 1: would have happened if I pushed Heather's hair out of
- 46:05Speaker 1: her face thing? I thought that was really cool because
- 46:08Speaker 1: you know, you know, the audience seeing it for the
- 46:10Speaker 1: first time just assumes that is what happened, and we
- 46:13Speaker 1: do this sort of I've never seen this movie Sliding Doors,
- 46:15Speaker 1: but people always reference to Gwyneth Peltro movie Sliding Doors.
- 46:18Speaker 1: When you talk about this, like what would have happened
- 46:19Speaker 1: if this, if if I'd gone this direction, and then
- 46:22Speaker 1: how my life would have been different. Okay, but I
- 46:24Speaker 1: didn't do that. I did this instead, and I thought
- 46:28Speaker 1: that was cool. It was well done. Yeah, you know,
- 46:31Speaker 1: it reminds me of my favorite movie, What's Up, La
- 46:34Speaker 1: La Land. Yes, there's a La La Land moment to it.
- 46:38Speaker 1: It's like it's like, well, at least we get to
- 46:43Speaker 1: see what would have happened, you know what, right, but
- 46:45Speaker 1: then we also see what really happened. And you know, JD,
- 46:50Speaker 1: like Turt puts his foot in his mouth at the
- 46:53Speaker 1: end of this, at the end of this episode, which yeah,
- 46:57Speaker 1: you know, my wife always tells me this. She's like,
- 47:00Speaker 1: you can lie and lie and lie all you want,
- 47:02Speaker 1: but eventually the truth comes out, you know, and it's true.
- 47:06Speaker 1: You know. JD blew off Kylie to go hang out
- 47:09Speaker 1: with Molly. And when he gets when he realizes, oh,
- 47:15Speaker 1: I don't want to be with Molly. I want to
- 47:17Speaker 1: be with Kylie. And he gets to the apartment, he
- 47:20Speaker 1: his honesty just comes out and he tells Kylie the truth.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I was out with this one girl, and I realized
- 47:29Speaker 1: I didn't want to be with her. I wanted to
- 47:30Speaker 1: be with you. Yeah, he's trying to use it as
- 47:33Speaker 1: a as a as a means of hitting on her, like, Hey,
- 47:36Speaker 1: how great did I do? Meanwhile, I mean, we assume
- 47:38Speaker 1: he's drunk, because he is, you know, obviously drunk, so
- 47:41Speaker 1: he's not he's not only being careful with his words
- 47:43Speaker 1: or yeah right and uh and that causes them to
- 47:47Speaker 1: break up. Um, do you think that she over reacted
- 47:50Speaker 1: a bit to that? You know, I don't think he
- 47:53Speaker 1: really did. They they're they're not. I mean, I assume
- 47:56Speaker 1: they're in a committed relationship. There are a month in well,
- 48:00Speaker 1: she definitely thinks they're in a committed relationship. But because
- 48:03Speaker 1: of Turk and Turk's theory of having your cake and
- 48:06Speaker 1: eating it too, because he felt like, I'm talking to
- 48:09Speaker 1: my ex girlfriend and it's harmless because I take all
- 48:12Speaker 1: of that energy and I bring it back to Carla,
- 48:15Speaker 1: JD feels like, yeah, you know, he falls for the
- 48:18Speaker 1: Oaki dog Turks. Turk's logic is obviously shit, you know
- 48:21Speaker 1: what I mean, Like, he's not the smartest dude on
- 48:23Speaker 1: the planet. Oh, I want to talk about Neil's acting,
- 48:26Speaker 1: because Neil never gets to play a sincere moment. The
- 48:28Speaker 1: janitor is always the broad comic relief. And I thought
- 48:33Speaker 1: it was really nice to see Neil play a very
- 48:38Speaker 1: sincere moment with Sarah. I thought that was a really
- 48:41Speaker 1: so I was surprised by it. It was great. Well,
- 48:44Speaker 1: not only was it great, the fact that he learns
- 48:46Speaker 1: her name, He learns her name early on, and when
- 48:49Speaker 1: she walks away with yeah, it's him saying Elliott under
- 48:56Speaker 1: his breath as she leaves, like yeah, so you know,
- 48:59Speaker 1: to him, they had a moment and he really loves her.
- 49:02Speaker 1: He's really I mean, you know, it's it's it's funny.
- 49:05Speaker 1: It's a testament to Neil's acting and and just his
- 49:08Speaker 1: skill as a performer that you know, he's so broad,
- 49:11Speaker 1: he's the broadest person on the show in a lot
- 49:13Speaker 1: of ways. And then all of a sudden, and obviously
- 49:17Speaker 1: a testament to the writing of the show, but all
- 49:19Speaker 1: of a sudden, you know, all he just drops in
- 49:21Speaker 1: and he plays it straight and he's like's a grounded moment. Yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 1: And he's a grounded moment and you buy it. And
- 49:26Speaker 1: it's so beautifully performed, and I made me want more
- 49:30Speaker 1: of it. I was like, you know, I don't want
- 49:32Speaker 1: to mess with what Neil's doing because it's everyone's loves it.
- 49:37Speaker 1: But it was so heartfelt and um and that's a
- 49:40Speaker 1: very tricky thing to do. Also to go from so
- 49:42Speaker 1: broad and so crazy, crazy crazy, then to have a
- 49:45Speaker 1: moment where it's grounded and it doesn't take away from
- 49:50Speaker 1: the character. If anything, it enhances the character. Well, it's
- 49:53Speaker 1: so it showed us a new side to the character.
- 49:55Speaker 1: And also I thought it was just heartbreaking. I thought anyone,
- 49:58Speaker 1: anyone who's ever been in a situation where there was
- 50:00Speaker 1: unrequited love and they were pining for someone who had
- 50:03Speaker 1: no interest in them could relate to those feelings. He said,
- 50:08Speaker 1: you know, you treat me with respect, and I know
- 50:10Speaker 1: that you don't feel the same way that that I
- 50:14Speaker 1: do about you. But you know, I'm sorry. You know,
- 50:16Speaker 1: I don't know the words of it, but it was
- 50:18Speaker 1: but it was really really beautifully done. And then calling
- 50:20Speaker 1: her Elliott when she walked away, it was just like
- 50:22Speaker 1: Chef's kiss. Well and also, like we always talk about,
- 50:26Speaker 1: the music is perfect at this moment, Josh, and let's
- 50:29Speaker 1: end the show with that beautiful song by the way
- 50:32Speaker 1: Carrie Brothers has a song and this too. His beautiful
- 50:34Speaker 1: song Waiting for Your Letter is during one of the
- 50:38Speaker 1: montage sequences. I love that song. But we end with
- 50:41Speaker 1: one of our I think it's safe to say one
- 50:43Speaker 1: of our favorite Josh Raising songs, Closer, right Donald beautiful song. Yeah,
- 50:47Speaker 1: well that first record used to be my jam. And
- 50:49Speaker 1: then the video was amazing too. I remember we you
- 50:52Speaker 1: shot the video, you directed the video, Yeah, at the
- 50:55Speaker 1: Hollywood Bowl, at the Hollywood Bowl, and you had all
- 50:57Speaker 1: of these great light cues. Yeah, And I remember I
- 51:01Speaker 1: remember the video concept is Josh pays the janitor of
- 51:07Speaker 1: the Hollywood Bowl, or to the custodian of the Hollywood Bowl.
- 51:13Speaker 1: He pays him money so he can come in and
- 51:16Speaker 1: perform one song, like it's his dream to perform there.
- 51:19Speaker 1: So he could perform one song on the stage, and
- 51:23Speaker 1: the custodian lets all these lights go crazy for him
- 51:26Speaker 1: and everything while he performs closer to an empty house.
- 51:30Speaker 1: And I thought that was I remember that video, and
- 51:34Speaker 1: I remember thinking the concept was really dope also because
- 51:37Speaker 1: if you could have that moment, it doesn't need to
- 51:40Speaker 1: be necessarily a packed house. But if your dream was
- 51:43Speaker 1: to play the garden and nobody was in the garden,
- 51:46Speaker 1: but you got all the effects and the lights were
- 51:48Speaker 1: out and everything like that, and you could do one song.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Wouldn't you take that opportunity? Wouldn't you go for it? Well,
- 51:54Speaker 1: it's so cool because you know, for those of you
- 51:56Speaker 1: don't know about the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, it's
- 52:00Speaker 1: just the most beautiful place to see music. It's an
- 52:03Speaker 1: outdoor amphitheater and it seats like eighteen thousand people or something,
- 52:07Speaker 1: and it's just a very very just google image Hollywood
- 52:10Speaker 1: Bowl and you'll see what it looks like. It's beautiful.
- 52:11Speaker 1: And so the concept was that Josh is a you know,
- 52:14Speaker 1: young singer songwriter that's by no means selling out the
- 52:18Speaker 1: Hollywood Bowl or probably even a small club. The character
- 52:21Speaker 1: in the video and he pays off the door guy.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Know what. The way I shot it was, I kept
- 52:25Speaker 1: it contained for the first part within the dome of
- 52:28Speaker 1: the bowl, so you don't really know where you are.
- 52:31Speaker 1: You think you're in some really bizarre space. And then
- 52:34Speaker 1: at a certain point when the song kicked in, we
- 52:36Speaker 1: had this giant crane and we pulled back to reveal
- 52:40Speaker 1: that he was playing to an empty house at night
- 52:43Speaker 1: with the Hollywood Bowl, and we programmed the lightboard to
- 52:46Speaker 1: just go crazy with the lights. And then he finishes
- 52:49Speaker 1: the song and the little ghost lamp is just on
- 52:51Speaker 1: the stage and he just sort of packs up his
- 52:53Speaker 1: guitar and walks off. It was really cool. Check it out.
- 52:55Speaker 1: It's on the YouTube's. It is on the youtubes. And
- 52:59Speaker 1: then at the intern is dumb like, oh yeah, Turk
- 53:04Speaker 1: says the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my life.
- 53:06Speaker 1: He's like, well, you know, he was like, I did it.
- 53:09Speaker 1: I told her that we could no longer talk to
- 53:12Speaker 1: each other anymore. I got rid of her. And Carla
- 53:15Speaker 1: asks him, well, that was really fast. How did you
- 53:18Speaker 1: do it? He was like, it was simple. I told
- 53:19Speaker 1: her I was married. Yeah, what else? Fucking and you're not.
- 53:24Speaker 1: You can't even blame it on being drunk. Jad's drunk
- 53:26Speaker 1: from the from the bar. Turk is just dumb. Yeah,
- 53:30Speaker 1: Turk is stupid in that moment. In that moment, what
- 53:33Speaker 1: about when the when when Cox puts the brick on
- 53:37Speaker 1: the accelerator or the dick like at the end, all
- 53:40Speaker 1: of the all of the guys in the show at
- 53:42Speaker 1: the end of this, like the janitor is a dick
- 53:44Speaker 1: for freaking making a bet with doctor Cox. Turk is
- 53:47Speaker 1: a dummy for freaking saying what he said to Carla.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Everyone has a bad look. Yeah, all the guys do.
- 53:53Speaker 1: All the guys, all the guys do. Well another janitor,
- 53:56Speaker 1: Well did you? I guess the janitor man. He lied,
- 53:59Speaker 1: but he's still okay. But I'm going to give the
- 54:01Speaker 1: janitor a pass because what he says to Sarah is
- 54:03Speaker 1: so sweet and he still lied. He's still lied, he
- 54:06Speaker 1: still used her to You know who came off great
- 54:09Speaker 1: in this episode as crazy Eyes Margo. She's just having lunch,
- 54:13Speaker 1: she's not bothering anybody, and when the car blow when
- 54:17Speaker 1: the vand blows up, and doctor Cox just starts cheering, like, oh,
- 54:22Speaker 1: he's such an asshole. But it was funny. I remember,
- 54:25Speaker 1: like you know, it was like Zach. The episode's pretty
- 54:28Speaker 1: contained until the end. We're gonna run a van into
- 54:30Speaker 1: the hospital and explode it. By the way, that like that.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I felt so bad that we blew that van up.
- 54:36Speaker 1: It's like a beautiful antique, but you know, we wanted
- 54:40Speaker 1: to make you laugh listeners. The eighteen van's coming next.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so and you should be happy because The
- 54:47Speaker 1: reason is he's going to get an eighteen van next
- 54:52Speaker 1: we have a caller today, or no, we do have
- 54:54Speaker 1: a collar before we go to the caller. I know
- 54:57Speaker 1: we're gonna end with Josh Raids closer. Um, but Travis
- 55:01Speaker 1: did send us a mother approved version of the date song. Oh,
- 55:04Speaker 1: let's hear it. You want to hear it, Let's go
- 55:06Speaker 1: now listen. For those of you who aren't caught up
- 55:10Speaker 1: by the way, I find myself humming this song to
- 55:13Speaker 1: myself all day long, which part because I was on
- 55:17Speaker 1: Dua Lipa's levitating, But now I've switched to the Joel
- 55:21Speaker 1: Monique is down to get down? Which part of the
- 55:23Speaker 1: Joel Monique usually it's usually it's no matter what's between
- 55:27Speaker 1: your legs. Tomorrow morning you could be making it. REGs
- 55:29Speaker 1: Joe down down. My part is put the bird out
- 55:35Speaker 1: on and on anytown Joel Monique is down to get down.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Do you find yourself walking around said or apartment humming
- 55:45Speaker 1: before what's your name? Again? We gotta give him a
- 55:48Speaker 1: shout out. I wish he would write us more hooks
- 55:50Speaker 1: for the show. Listen. We can definitely ask him to
- 55:54Speaker 1: do that. His name is Travis Freshner. Well, Travis, I listen.
- 55:57Speaker 1: If you're listening, I have so much sh I can
- 56:00Speaker 1: sign for you if you if you're a Scrubs fan,
- 56:02Speaker 1: I've got an Alex and hoodie I can sign for
- 56:05Speaker 1: you for the Genius show that only went ten episodes.
- 56:08Speaker 1: But um, but listen, we need more of your genius
- 56:11Speaker 1: hooky melodies because the Joel Monique song is just fuego.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Now just there's the listeners up. Sorry, go ahead. No,
- 56:18Speaker 1: there's a remake. That's what we're about to hear. Yes,
- 56:20Speaker 1: we're gonna hear the remake because Joel's mom complained that
- 56:23Speaker 1: those lyrics to the song made her sound easy, and
- 56:26Speaker 1: now we're gonna hear the non what's crazy, it's it's
- 56:29Speaker 1: your favorite part of the song. No matter what's between
- 56:32Speaker 1: your legs and the money, you could be making Joelle's mags.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I know that, no matter what's between your legs in
- 56:38Speaker 1: the morning, you could be making the leggs Joe, get down.
- 56:43Speaker 1: So are we're gonna put it right here? Let's do it. Yeah,
- 56:45Speaker 1: I can play it for you right now if you
- 56:47Speaker 1: want to hear it. Yes, Joe Belmonique is looking so
- 56:58Speaker 1: playing it cool'll be because you kind of girl that love.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, j that's good too. I like it. Yeah,
- 57:13Speaker 1: I just send that one to your mom. But I
- 57:16Speaker 1: still think at the end it should be Joe, Well,
- 57:18Speaker 1: Monique is down to get down. Her mom's not gonna
- 57:22Speaker 1: like that because she makes her sound promiscuous. It's no part.
- 57:25Speaker 1: The part that she thinks makes her sound promiscuous is
- 57:28Speaker 1: when she talks about no matter what's between your legs
- 57:31Speaker 1: in the morning, you could be making her eggs. No. No,
- 57:33Speaker 1: the last thing you're talking about is like, she's down
- 57:36Speaker 1: to get down like somebody but a woman. As long
- 57:39Speaker 1: as you're not a creep, and as long as you're
- 57:42Speaker 1: looking for love, well, that's not enough criteria for for
- 57:45Speaker 1: Joel's lover. I'm sure her mom is like the song
- 57:48Speaker 1: should be like, if you've got a pH d and
- 57:51Speaker 1: maybe if you're going to med school, Joel will do
- 57:56Speaker 1: how with you on a platonic setting, Have you got
- 58:01Speaker 1: a PhD and you're not a fucking creep and you're
- 58:06Speaker 1: making lots of marble tea and and you make a
- 58:09Speaker 1: lot of money, Joe, Joelle Monique will hold your hand,
- 58:17Speaker 1: Joel Monique will hold your hand, all right, well, Joel, Um,
- 58:27Speaker 1: I love the song, and please tell him that what
- 58:30Speaker 1: other moments in the show need a Maybe the guest
- 58:32Speaker 1: arriving needs a theme song. Oh that's ask him. Ask
- 58:39Speaker 1: him because tell him. And I'm not sure if he
- 58:42Speaker 1: listens every week, but please tell him that I'm walking
- 58:46Speaker 1: around singing. He's so good at writing hooky melodies jingles.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I believe they call him. We could we could use
- 58:51Speaker 1: one for the guests, the arrival of the guests. Yeah,
- 58:54Speaker 1: because I think me saying the guest name in the
- 58:56Speaker 1: Oprah Boys, I've done it. How many episodes are you now?
- 59:00Speaker 1: You know that people will riot in these streets if
- 59:02Speaker 1: you don't give them their open people like okay, I'm
- 59:07Speaker 1: just yeah, you know, I mean it makes me want
- 59:11Speaker 1: to say this. That's what I'm talking about, you know
- 59:13Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I prefer you say, well, how about
- 59:16Speaker 1: this one? Do or do not? There is no try.
- 59:21Speaker 1: That is such a I'm not gonna lie. That's a
- 59:23Speaker 1: good yoda. That is a good yoda. Yeah. I can't
- 59:25Speaker 1: believe we got Frank Oz to do that? All righty
- 59:31Speaker 1: on instagrams A vvy W a v v y. He
- 59:35Speaker 1: wrote the jingle for by dating segment. You guys, should
- 59:38Speaker 1: definitely follow him, and hopefully he'll write us a couple
- 59:41Speaker 1: of more jingles. We'll see travvy wavy. All right, we'll
- 59:44Speaker 1: just go to break right, and then we'll have a guest. Yes,
- 59:46Speaker 1: we'll be right back. We'll be right back and we're
- 59:53Speaker 1: back all right. We'll invite our friends in so we
- 59:56Speaker 1: can meet them and discuss. It's one person or two.
- 59:59Speaker 1: We don't need me one, it's one person. I think
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I know who it is. Oh, I think I might
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: know who it is too act. We'll say hello to
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Mitch Kelly. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for a
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Mitch Kelly. There he is. Hello there, Mitch. Hey, guys,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: how are you doing? Can you be merevos? You were
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: on television on a television you were which show? First
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: of all, let's get into this. Wait, you're you're going
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: way too fast, donald, Mitch Kelly, Where do you live? On?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Place called carry Carry at place so crept I named
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: it twice? Where is it? What country? Australia? It's und
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: north of Sydney. All right now, Mitch, you're wearing the
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: infamous onesie that that that people love all across the earth.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: We know because it's even down in Australia. Now, um,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: tell us what happened, because you went at least a
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: little bit viral in our minds and when we saw
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: this this week, what what what happened? What did you
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: do with your onesie? Um? Well, I went on a
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: on a Australian gangshi called Mastermind and you get to
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: pick your theme and the theme with scrubs and U
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: and I, you know, I ll admitted way more onesie
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: with my fat ass on TV that I wasn't gonna
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: call you fat ass. You look fit. Actually, you look
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: like a freaking superhero in that looked amazing. By the way,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: there's only two people in the world who have ever
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: won the who have ever warned the onesie on national television.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Do you know who the other one is? Drew Barrymore. Yeah,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: that's correct, That is correct fause you and Drew Barrymore
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: are they are the only two legends. And by the way, Joel,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: how can we encourage more people to wear their onesies
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: on national television? I feel like there should be a
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: special gift if you wear your onesie on national television.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Uh okay, we got to figure something out for mention.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Just just help me brainstorm. We're gonna SAT Australia, gonna
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: take six months to get there, but we're going to
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: figure it out right now, Mitch, tell us what the
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: questions where? I don't know this game show? So what
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: is what is the game show? Okay? So it's it's
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: two rounds of two minutes in the seat and you
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: get to pick your topic sit scribe. So I picked it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: So it was relating to season five of Scrube. So
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: like the first question was what is JD's positions? So
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I was like attending position. Um. One question was you
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: know one of the directors won an award for this
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: specific episode. It wasn't yours, so I didn't mark that up,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: but I got that wrong. Um. It was like what
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: was the theme of the one hundredth episode specials? Like
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: you know it was it of all was et cetera.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: So um. So I got nine out of that round
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and general knowledge. I absolutely bombed it, absolutely horrendously. Really,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I gotta watch this because I only saw I saw
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: you come on. It was it was tagged in my
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Instagram and I saw you come on, and I saw
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: the host could could not stop laughing at the one
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: thing I absolutely I had him laughing laps like, so
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: you must have felt sorry for me or something. No,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I didn't feel sorry. I don't think he's sorry for you.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I think he was jealous too. I think he wanted one.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I'd be jealous of all this as well. Come on,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: that's right, that's right. Um, well, dude, you are you
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: meet it to the big time that you are a legend. Dude,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: you are a legend, man, truly a legend. It was.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: It was employed to try and promote my podcast as well,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: so that was all a what's your what's your podcast?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: It's called Life's a Mitch Podcasts, so it's a bit
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: of a planned words, but essentially it's about storytelling. So
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I get people who ordinarily wouldn't have the lights shot
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: on them and give them a chance to tell their
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: story on a on an audio medium. And it's been great.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I met some interesting people so far. How do you
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: find the people? So there's a podcasting website kind of
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: like LinkedIn. It's called matchmaker dot fm, and I thought
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: for starters. My friend put me onto it. I thought
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: it was a dating scheme for sure, but it was
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: cool so that she put me onto that. And it's
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: been so you can either search for guests or show
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: to appear him. That's so clever too. Well, do we
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: have an American version of that? I can find out serious? Well,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: because it'd be cool, Like, you know, if you want
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: an expert on a topic, and you know, we might
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: find someone that we know we could reach out to.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: But it seems like, oh, we want someone to come on,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: who's an expert on this certain topic. That could be
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: really cool. Well, that's easy if walking use it. Surely
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: anyone can. And you're really hard on yourself. Man, you're
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: so self deprecating. Come on, you're normal. I'm actually is
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: that an Australian stereotype self deprecation? So you guys, so
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: them from a bush tan, like a little country tan.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: And if someone if you do not refer to yourself
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: as a dickhead, there's something wrong with you. So well,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: you're shocking us. We're shocking us Americans who do the
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: opposite and just talk ourselves up. Yeah, you could be
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: from you could be from a ship town in America
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: and you're like, I am the ship Yes, I run
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: this shitty town. This place, this place is so shit
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: to have a mullet festival. So that gives you an example. Yea,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: oh my god, that's amazing. That sounds fun. I'm gonna
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: be honest with you, See, what's the kind of person like,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: give us an example of someone that's come on your
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: podcast that you that it was an interesting episode that
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: you Okay, So I introviewed a lady named Burke. She's
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: from Zanzibar and she was forced into an arranged marriage
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: when she was sixteen. So she was that's yeah, that
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: still happens in this time of the world. It's crazy.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: So she was forced to move with her husband to
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: London and forever a decade she had kids to him
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: and was treated like absolute garbage and she for a
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: long time, she she she bought her time, and then
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: she eventually transcended beyond this guy who treated her like
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: garbage and now she's an in devotional speaker in the
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Muslim community around the world. So, wow, that's amazing. I
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: loved I really liked the format of your show, you know.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: So it's you know, there's so many there's so many
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: podcasts um and then sometimes you hear people's like short
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: burst about what it's about, and you're like, that sounds interesting,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: but it's not for me, but I think here's this
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: really interesting. I would tell you everybody out there you can.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Can you get it wherever you get podcasts? Yeah, so
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: it's on Spotify, Apple, play in sand claud at the moment,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Mitch Life, s ab Mitch check it out, Lives a
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Mitch podcasts. Yeah, Live Live Live, some Mitch podcast. It
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: sounds very interesting and appreciate that's it's a player. It's
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: a player on Life's a Bitch. For those of you
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: who I think we get it, I'm just putting it
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: out there. There's some people that are like me, that
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: are like, Life's a Mitch? What is that a play on?
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: My friends call me Mitch mail bitch, so you know
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: it works. They call you Mitch mel bitch. Ye oh,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: it's as rough as my head think. Um, all right, Mitch,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: do you have any questions for us? Are you just
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: here to talk about your podcast and how genius you
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: look in that onesie stop it sir? So yeah. First
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: first question is you can take a favorite character from
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: any series on movie and put him in scrubs. This
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: question do you, well, um, who would it be and why?
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Any character from any TV shot movie and put them
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: in Scrubs. Okay, you want to go first, here's some
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Star Wars. I don't want any ewalks running around our show.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: I'm not gonna do that. I'm gonna I'm gonna change
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: it a little bit, though. I don't know if I could.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: I don't know what a character from TV or movies,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: but I can tell you that a director that I
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: wanted so bad to direct an episode of Scrubs was
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Spike Lee because Spike was such a big fan of
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the show too, Like every time Zach and I would
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: run into him, he's always very nice to us and
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: always very you know, he's very complimented and everything like that.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: And I really wanted Spike Lee to direct an episode
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: of Scrubs. I you know, that was something that I
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: really wanted. So if I could have any director character
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: from movie or television or director, it would be Spike.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I would like, grow gou, Um, you're an asshole, dude,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: I intersonally would like grow goo. And what's the name
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: of that robot? The Tika voices I eleven? I want
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: the I G eleven as well. I love that there
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: was no pause like I thought you might have to
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: look up for a second. You just looked straight into
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: the camera with ig eleven. I love Star you know
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I love Star Wars, right, I know, brother, I almost
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: sent you. You know I didn't send you this video
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: because I'm tired of you're not replying to them. But
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I believe, if I'm not mistaken, it's Warwick Davis saying
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: goodbye to the cast members. They're all in costume in
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: the jungle on that planet returned the Jedi e walk
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Planet Indoor, the Forest Moon of Indoor. It's not even
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: it's not even the Planet of Indoor. It's the forest moon.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Calm down, Calm down, It's a moon. It's a moon. Okay,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: you know what it is. It's a fucking backlot, but okay, listen,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: it's a forest moon of endor. And they're saying goodbye
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: to him because he must have been wrapped and he's leaving,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: and it was very emotional, and I was like, I'm
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: gonna send this to Dollar and you know what, that
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: mophone never replies. I might get a thumbs up. I
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: either get a thumbs up. Listen, if you don't have
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: the time to write, oh that's cool this, he either
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: writes a thumbs up. The thing where you click on it,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: or he'll write, I've already seen that, all right, Mitch.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Do you have another question? Yeah, keeping the same of
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: podcasts from your art, of course, and when you're about
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: to listen to one, are there any other podcasts that
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: you don't more listening to. I have an answer for this,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: and I'm not an avid podcast listener because I think
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the best time to listen to a podcast is personally
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: when you're driving UM and I don't haven't been driving
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: that much, but I did drive far away yesterday and
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I started something that's amazing if you love movies. It's UM,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the Roger Deakins Podcast UM. And Roger Deakins, if you
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: don't know, is perhaps the most respected cinematographer alive. He's
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: got like nine zillion oscars and he sits down with
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: UM primarily other cinematographers and they talk about how they
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: got started and the craft and UM. Here a movie geek,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: and it's particularly a cinematography geek. I highly recommend it.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: The title of it is Team Deacons, So I love that.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I was fascinating it was. So that's that's the one
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: I've listened to. I also like murder mystery ones like
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: you know, cereals set the bar so high. And then
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: when my girlfriend I sintimes gone road trips, well we'll
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: try and find another good murder mystery one. Um so,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: like you know to binge because I love of love
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: those Donald. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars The
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Black Side podcast that'll be coming out. It was supposed
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: to be coming out May the fourth. We have to
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: push it back a little bit. Why. I'm a huge
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: fan of contract issues, but I'm a huge fan of
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Star Wars The Black Side and just put it out there.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: So let me get this straight. Your answer to his
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: podcast question is your own podcast that hasn't yet? Thank you, Joel,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: thank you. Well that's a good sitle. It's it's it's
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: what is it the black Side? The black Side instead
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: of the Dark Side with the black side of things.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: That's very clever. I will be tuning in. That's cool man.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Wait all right, it's time for Australia's favorite segment. It's
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: time too fix your lie? All right, match, how can
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: we help you today? Well? That was that was smoother
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: than my bold head. Well done. Um So, okay, So,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: as I'm new at this whole podcasting thing, I'll be
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: doing it for three or four months and it all
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: started like this year, I had a bit of a
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: cross raid, so I went to see a clear point
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: for a bit of guidance in it sort of reminded
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: me to do what I love, So it's to talk
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: to people and hear stories and carry on like an
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: absolute dickhead, so in a good way, in a good way. Um.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: So my question is seeing how I'm this whole entertainment
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: thing and I'm trying to find, like mastraid, what's some
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: advice you can give to me to sort of help
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: because I'm struggling to get what listeners as well? So
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: how can I help get better at my craft and
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: help promote it a bit better as well? I think
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: you're already off to a great start, man, You've found
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: You've found first of all, you found a way to
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: promote your podcast without having to spend any type of
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: money by going on the game show, by coming here.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: These are all great ways to jump off, as they
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: say too, and I think you're going about it the
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: right way. Now. If you have trouble with listeners after this,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: you know, get back at us and we'll plug you again.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You got you got friends
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: over here at this you know, your a legend for
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: rock and that that onesie on Australian television, you know
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: what I mean. And and because of sorry Donald go ahead, sorry.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: And because of that you got loved from the Fake
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Doctor's Real Friends crew, you know what I mean, and
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: so and so the way you're going about it right now,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I give you props man, because not a lot of
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: people can crack the code and you found a way
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: to do it well. It shows you when you have
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: the courage to go outside the box, how you can
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: reap the rewards of that. I mean, you decided to
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: sort of be silly and go on this this um
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: you know, quiz show, and in being silly and in
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: putting yourself out there, it landed you not only on
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: the quiz show talking about your podcast, but we saw
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: you and you ended up on here. So it's a
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: testament to you that you're willing to, you know, really
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: put yourself out there. I would also say that I'm
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: sure if you look on YouTube and the Internet, there's
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: there's definitely people that have written about like how to
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: get momentum. You can do targeted ads on Facebook, for example.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: So Facebook is even though Facebook is the devil, it's
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: still if you're trying to get your message out there,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: you can do like people in Australia who are who
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: are listening to podcasts, who like Scrubs, who like interview, know,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: you can really narrow the hell out of it down
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: in between these ages and just send ads to them. Um,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: you know, so you can get clever with you know,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: I don't really know much about it, but I know
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: that if you dig deep on the internet, I'm sure
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: there's YouTube videos where people give tutorials for like clever ways.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: If you spend a little bit of money, um, just
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: on on really specifically targeting the people that you want
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: to reach. Yeah for sure. Um yeah, I know. I'm
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: gonna show a fan of this show for a long
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: time and it's it's actually really really nice to hear
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: some of your autels say that luck you might have
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: fan anime. And is it okay if I give a
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: shadd to the guy who put me onto this podcast
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: about so my good friend Dave. He um he said
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: to me, he said, like, you know, you love the
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: Scrubs as much as all they're doing a podcast? I what?
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: And he showed me and after episode one. I've binged
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: season two I one and two in about three days,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: so you know, that's wow, that's a lot of hours.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I'll do too. I'm a shift worker in the mind,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: so we get twelve hour shifts. So you know, you've
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: got to know while you're operating gear, you have to
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: keep your mind occupied somehow. You said you're mine, you
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: go back, what do you mind? Married the lead? As
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: we say in the newspaper industry, that I'm that, I'm
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: not a partner. So on. So just in that TV
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: episode it is Tuesday this week, I'll send you the link. Um.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: So I work in a calm one. Um. So I
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: operate the big hall trucks. Um So in terms of feet,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: you're about twenty seven feet in the Yeah, these are
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: those giant trucks with tires that are like definitely over compensating.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Um it's um, it's um. It's good fun. But yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: it's twelve hour shifts and it's its own micro community.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: So you have to find ways to to entertain yourself
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: while you're operating and stuff. So you're you're driving that
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: truck and hauling coal for twelve hour shifts nights, day
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: and nights. Yep. Fucking hell. And you're allowed, Thank god,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: you're allowed to listen things, right, yeah, if you show
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: otherwise it's um it's very limited AM radio stations and
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: you hear the weather about a thousand times a shift.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: How do you pee or pooh oh? I'll just pull
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: up on the side of the dump and whip it
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: over the deck. You know, what about? What about when
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: you went about when you have to pooh oh? There's
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: crip hoots. You just cool up the dispatch office and
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: you roll in there and do your business and get
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: down at you and I guess, okay, so you drive,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: you drive up and then you climb down and pooh yeah.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: So they give you two breaks through the shift as well,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: so you know, you know, you have to have fatigue.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: I'm drinking so much water lately that I have to
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: pee like all the time, right doal? Yeah? Oh my god.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I was driving yesterday. I had to do a long
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: drive and I was like, I really wish I had
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: one of those little driving urnals because I would have.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I had this moment where I had my giant This
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: is what happened, right, I was late going to this
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: appointment and it was far away. I didn't know how
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: far away. It was so fucking far, and I'm late,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: and you know when your bladder is like painful, but
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: you're like, come on, bro, you can go twenty more minute.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: And I had to. If I was shooting the scene.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I had my my giant water drug thing that's like
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: two leaders, it's it's it's it's half full, and it's
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: sitting on the passenger seat and I did like the
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: slow turn to it, and I was like, I could
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: piss in my water jug. I really could. And I
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: was like I was, and I'm like, but I drink
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: out of that. I'm like, you're an asterile. We're gonna
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: wash it. You're obviously not gonna keep drinking it. Come on, Zach.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: And I was like, no, I don't want to insult.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: It's like my friend, I'm with him all day. It's
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: like my little R two D two. I'm not going
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: to piss in his mouth. It Oh my god, what,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: oh my god, what, oh my gosh, are you kidding me? What?
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: How dare you p and R two's mouth? How dare
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: you even talk about this? Simile? It was a simile.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: I said like, are you fucking kidding me? Dude? I'm sorry.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: I has had a bit of a toilet file as
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: well a few days ago. If you want to know, well,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: if you can, you tell it in a non disgusting way.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: From it. It's not disgusting. We don't want anyone tuning
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: out because of your disgusting. Now, it's not that's I'll
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: run it because I did him a business and then
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: I had to clean it up. So I'm using the
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: toilet brushed to do that. As I'm are you disgusting?
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: As I'm doing that, I was sneezed, sazed. They would
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: have almost blind a hole through the wall. And as
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: it did that, the toilet brush head snapped off and
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: started to float down the bowl. Had to go get
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: a new toilet brush. That Snaze customer nineteen dollars. It
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: was ridiculous. Wait, what did you do with the toilet brush?
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I fished out with a new toilet brush. Oh my god,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: it's so fucking g Yeah. The name of the podcast
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: is Life's a mitch y'all. Well, you are funny, Mitch.

- 1:22:51Speaker 1: new one, burnt to shine. Take the blue once every time,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: walk me down your broken lighte Ah, you have to
