SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome back to the Spiritual Shit Show.
• 0:03
SPEAKER_00: My name is Julie Wynne, and today we're talking about something that has been so profound in my life and in my healing journey, and that is the power of the witness.
• 0:15
  SPEAKER_00: There's a line I heard once that's never left me, and it's healing needs a witness.
• 0:23
SPEAKER_00: Not someone to fix it, not someone to explain it, but someone to see you, to really see you, to support holding the container for the energy, the story, the truth to be seen.
• 0:44
  SPEAKER_00: Healing needs a witness.
• 0:46
SPEAKER_00: So much of our pain was formed in moments when we were unseen, unheard, dismissed, shamed, or silenced.
• 0:54
SPEAKER_00: And so much of our healing begins the moment another heart can hold our story without judgment.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_00: When we are witnessed lovingly, openly, the energy of separation begins to dissolve.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_00: And I am hearing the power of all of that for myself in such a deeper way as well.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_00: How important it is to hold space for somebody else.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_00: That true healing comes when it is witnessed.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_00: Every child comes into this world wired to be mirrored, to look into another face and feel I exist, I matter, I am loved, I am here.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: And when that reflection is absent or distorted, we learn to shrink or perform or mask or dissociate or protect.
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_00: Pick your poison.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_00: And we hide our truth just to stay safe.
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_00: We shrink.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_00: And the nervous system records these moments.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_00: The moments where we don't feel seen or heard.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: The body remembers what it's like to speak and not be heard, to cry and not be comforted, to shine and be told you're too much.
• 2:21
SPEAKER_00: And that's why in adulthood, when someone meets us in presence without needing to change our story, it can move emotion that's been frozen for decades, for lifetimes.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_00: The power of the witness is what can illuminate truths within ourselves.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_00: It allows us to remember that we are such a bright light.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_00: And healing isn't always about getting over it.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_00: And the words that I always hate, which is let it go.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_00: Because it's not that simple.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: And sometimes the real power isn't suggesting somebody just let it go.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_00: But how can we just be here with this?
• 3:12
SPEAKER_00: How can we just allow ourselves enough safety to see it?
• 3:19
SPEAKER_00: And on an energetic level, witnessing creates coherence.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_00: When two nervous systems regulate together, when two hearts meet in compassion, the energy field begins to harmonize, and you can feel it, that shift in the room when truth is spoken and received.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_00: The vibration changes, the body softens, the light returns to the eyes.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_00: And this is the subtle medicine of presence.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_00: It's not the words, it's the frequency.
• 3:57
SPEAKER_00: In Reiki, in somatic therapy, in channeling, the moment of witnessing is the bridge between contraction and expansion.
• 4:07
SPEAKER_00: It's the space in between.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_00: It's the energy that was trapped, finally has permission to move.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_00: I am hearing this for myself, you know, as somebody who really is moving into this space of not only deepening my own healing and understanding and then coming into the fullest at this time, expression of my being, of myself, of my story, understanding how much transformation has occurred for me simply by not seeking out therapists anymore, but really understand how powerful it is for something to be authentically witnessed.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_00: So I'm hearing all of that.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_00: And then as a mom, how important it is to really allow my daughter to be seen and to be heard.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, that's what I'm getting from all of this.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_00: And the reminder that when we can fully ground in to holding the role of the witness, that the witness doesn't absorb or carry, they just hold a clean mirror.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_00: And I'm feeling a real deep exhale around all of that.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_00: That such safety offers a deep exhale.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_00: And a space for the heart to exist.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_00: The next layer of healing is learning to become your own witness.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_00: And this is the space that I personally am in now, which is why I am sharing this.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_00: It's this practice of meeting your thoughts, your emotions, and sensations with just a little bit more compassion and curiosity instead of criticism.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_00: To be able to sit with yourself the way you wish someone once had, to see you the way you kind of see yourself.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_00: And this is how this other part of you, maybe it's the inner child, learns safety.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_00: And this is also how the adult present here I am, now self, learns how to root and expand.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_00: And energetically, this self-witnessing opens the channel.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_00: When we meet ourselves with compassion, our frequency rises.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_00: We move from the vibration of shame.
• 6:41
  SPEAKER_00: Ooh, that's a big one.
• 6:43
  SPEAKER_00: I know shame.
• 6:45
SPEAKER_00: But we can move from the vibration of shame and resistance.
• 6:51
  SPEAKER_00: Whew.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_00: Into allowance, surrender, truth, love, community.
• 7:04
SPEAKER_00: And in that, the reminder that healing is not meant to be a solo act.
• 7:13
SPEAKER_00: The soul heals in connection.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_00: Whether that's in therapy, a circle, you can join my Monday night energy club or ceremonies, friendships.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_00: My friendships have been so transformative for me.
• 7:30
SPEAKER_00: Having somebody to hold, hold the story, hold the emotion, hold the light for me.
• 7:39
  SPEAKER_00: Transformative.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_00: And I have also been able to hold that space for them as well.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_00: And when we hold space for another's truth, together we say our humanity, our truths, our compassionate experiences.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_00: Our very painful, I'm so sorry that happened to you.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_00: Stories is safe and held and seen and witnessed.
• 8:20
SPEAKER_00: And energetically, that safety ripples outward.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_00: Every act of witnessing becomes a thread in the web of collective healing.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_00: So maybe this week, notice where you can practice witnessing.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_00: And this is the big one that I am practicing right there with you, which is witnessing without fixing, without analyzing, just being with what is.
• 9:11
SPEAKER_00: Carving out, even if it's five, ten minutes, just to witness yourself, your home, outside, your child, your partner.
• 9:29
SPEAKER_00: Just witness what do I see?
• 9:32
  SPEAKER_00: What do I notice?
• 9:34
  SPEAKER_00: What do I feel?
• 9:37
  SPEAKER_00: How am I breathing?
• 9:40
SPEAKER_00: What's coming up for me now?
• 9:43
SPEAKER_00: Presence is the highest form of love.
• 9:50
SPEAKER_00: To witness is to bless.
• 9:55
SPEAKER_00: To see without judgment is to restore harmony to the field.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_00: You are not here to fix others, only to remember them into their light.
• 10:10
SPEAKER_00: And in doing so, you remember your own.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being here.
• 10:17
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being you.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being in this really messy, but sometimes so incredible experience of being a human here on earth.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for always choosing to be in your light.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_00: Do stay curious about how I can brighten my light even more.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being authentically you.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being a lighthouse for other souls as well.
• 10:55
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's it.
• 10:58
  SPEAKER_00: Till next time.
• 10:59
  SPEAKER_00: Stay in love.
• 11:00
  SPEAKER_00: Stay in your strength.

• 11:06
  SPEAKER_00: Arms wide open.
• 11:08
  SPEAKER_00: Much love.
