  Speaker 1: And we're going to take every chapter from the book

  Speaker 1: of John, Lord willing, if I could get through this series,

  Speaker 1: and take some scriptures and devote our focus and time

  Speaker 1: on those scriptures. So today we're up to chapter 16.

  Speaker 1: So we're in the book of John, chapter 16, verses
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: 21 and 22. I'm calling this one, Pain.

  Speaker 1: Before joy. Pain before joy. How many out there have
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: experienced pain in their life?
• 1:36
  Speaker 2: Right?

  Speaker 1: If I could lift up my legs and my hands
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: at the same time, everything would be raised in the
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: air because there's a lot of pain going on in
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: the world.
• 1:46
  Speaker 2: Suffering, trials, and pain.
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: Jesus actually promised that in this world we will go
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: through trials, tribulation, pain, right?
• 1:53
  Speaker 2: But there's joy coming. He said, but be of great cheer.
• 1:57
  Speaker 2: But be of great cheer.

  Speaker 1: So it's amazing how pain is not wasted time. God

  Speaker 1: doesn't waste his time with us when we experience pain.

  Speaker 1: He actually shows up in our pain. If you're looking
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: for true relief, if you're looking for true peace, if
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: you're looking for true love, if you're looking for true deliverance,
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: you have to look to the Lord. Amen. So there's
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: moments of pain, there's moments of disappointment, there's moments of uncertainty, right?

  Speaker 2: Sometimes you're wondering, just like I wonder, how long?

  Speaker 1: How long do I have to go through this before
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: it gets better? And Jesus reminds us that pain is
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: not always the end of our story, of your story
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: or of my story.
• 2:41
  Speaker 2: So let's pray.

  Speaker 1: Father, I thank you for the evidence of your grace
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: and your mercy and your love daily. I thank you,
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: Lord God, for a new day, a new start, an
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: opportunity to get into your word because of your word
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: by way of your Holy Spirit. I pray a hedge
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: of protection, north, south, east, and west of me and
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: my family, that you will set forth your archangel and
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: that every single attack of the enemy will be annihilated,
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: that those who are talking wickedness towards my family and
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: towards those families that are represented on the other side
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: of the screen or on the other side of this mic,
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: that you will guide and guard us all, protect us
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: from the wiles of the enemy, and that, Lord God,

  Speaker 1: that you will bring us joy and you will bring
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: us victory And you remind us, even though we go
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: through pain, we go through tribulation, you are still there.

  Speaker 1: You are still faithful. You are still magnificent. You are
• 3:35
  Speaker 1: still high and lifted up and exalted. So we give
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: you glory, honor, worship, and praise today. I pray, Lord God,
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: that you would continue to speak to us by way
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: of your Holy Spirit, by way of your word. Inspire
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: us to move forward and move quickly in the area
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: of victory today. And that we will continue to trust
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: and obey who you are and what you are doing
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: and who you are speaking to and what you're saying
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: and what you're telling us. And a stranger's voice we

  Speaker 1: will never follow. Inspire us, fill us with your spirit.

  Speaker 1: In Jesus' holy name, I pray this by faith. And

  Speaker 1: We're trying to move the word forward so that way

  Speaker 1: we can all know and really, really hone in to
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: what the Lord is doing and saying today. Amen. John
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: chapter 16, 21 and 22. Scripture says, Jesus says, a
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: woman has pain in childbirth because her time has come.
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: But when she brings forth her child, she forgets the
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: anguish because her joy, of her joy, that a human being,
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: a child, has been born into the world. So also
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: you have sorrow now. But I will see you again
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: and your hearts will rejoice and no one will take
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: away your joy.
• 5:29
  Speaker 2: Wow. What a promise. What a reality check, right?
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: I'm obviously not a woman, so I can't experience this
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: childbirth pain, but I do experience pain in life, right?
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: When you lose a loved one, when you're hurting internally,
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: when you're hurting physically, when there's pain in somebody else's
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: life that I will feel. That's the pain that men feel.
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: But a woman has pain in childbirth, birthing a child, right?
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: Because the time has come. But when she brings forth
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: a child, she forgets the anguish because of her joy
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: that a human being has been born into the world.
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: And Jesus said, also, you have sorrow now. But Jesus said,
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: we'll see him again. And our hearts will rejoice. And
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: no one, no devil in hell, no enemy or random person, amen,
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: will be able to take away the joy that God
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: gives us, right?
• 6:29
  Speaker 2: That's this powerful scripture.

  Speaker 1: I'm going to meditate on this all week because, man,
• 6:35
  Speaker 1: like life continues to life, right? The younger generation said
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: life is lifing, right? And they're adulting, right? When you're
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: getting of age and you realize, wow, the world is
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: something else. definitely something else. It's a different system going
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: on in the world. Not everybody's born-again believer, and that's obvious.
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: I don't have to argue the point. I have to
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: remind you that. But when you are born again, you
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: start seeing with the lenses through Scripture, with the lenses
• 7:03
  Speaker 1: of the Holy Ghost, right? And you start realizing that
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: people are dying in sin and darkness. But we have
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: the light of Christ. Don't be afraid to shine the
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: light of Christ. As a matter of fact, if you're
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, there's no way
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: that you can't shine your light. You could try to
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: dim it a little bit, try to hide, you know,
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: because people don't want, if you're like me, I'm not
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: really confrontational. I don't like to hurt people with words
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: or my deeds or anything like that.
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: But sometimes I slip up. So I do hurt people sometimes, amen.

  Speaker 1: But I'm learning as time goes by that it's not
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: worth winning an argument. It's so much worth it winning
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: a soul to the Lord Jesus Christ, to the kingdom
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: of God, right? So, as we saw in the scripture,
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: just as women experience pain before giving birth to a child,
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: a human being, right? Because I know there's debates going
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: on of what a human is in the womb. But listen,
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: a fetus is a human fetus. You know, you have
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: a clunk of cells that people are saying that's just
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: a clunk of cells before they become a human. Those
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: cells are human cells.
• 8:16
  Speaker 2: Anyway, so.
• 8:18
  Speaker 1: When a woman brings a new life into this world, right,
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: there's pain. Sometimes we all, women and men, all go
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: through seasons of when it's hard, just hard. Like life
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: gets hard before experiencing the joy God has promised and
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: prepared for us, right? So if there's no pain, you
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: won't know how to understand what joy is or peace is.
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: If there's no chaos, you wouldn't be grateful for the peace.
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: If there's no hatred, you won't be grateful for the love.
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: If there's no evil, you wouldn't need a God. I
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: wouldn't need a God because God is the only one who.
• 8:58
  Speaker 2: Is good, right?
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: But in this world, there's evil. In this world, there's darkness.

  Speaker 1: But Jesus showed up. The light, the word says, showed up, right?
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: Came to this world and people despised the light. They
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: hated the light because they didn't want their darkness exposed, right?
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: And I was one of those people, before Jesus Christ
• 9:18
  Speaker 1: saved me and changed me and transformed me. You were
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: one of those people before the Lord changed your life
• 9:22
  Speaker 1: as well. So we knew what darkness was. We experienced darkness.
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: We experienced enslavery to sin and all kinds of fleshly deeds.
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: But now that you're born again, now that I'm born again,
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: hopefully by the time this is all said and done,
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: you would investigate the claims of the Lord Jesus Christ
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: for yourself if you're an atheist or part of another religion,
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: or anything like that, I challenge you, right? I humbly
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: challenge you to investigate the claims of the Lord Jesus
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: Christ through the scriptures, amen, and see what he's talking about,
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: what he did, how he lived.

  Speaker 2: Amen.

  Speaker 1: And if that doesn't convince you that Jesus is God
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: or that Jesus is good and only God is good,
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: that Jesus forgives sins and only God could forgive sins,
• 10:10
  Speaker 1: that Jesus is the resurrection. He gives eternal life and
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: only God could give eternal life. If you don't see
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: that through the scriptures, amen, then I'll be praying But
• 10:20
  Speaker 1: you will clearly see it in the scriptures when God
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: shows up and inspires you through his word.
• 10:26
  Speaker 2: Amen.

  Speaker 1: You will see clearly that Jesus is exactly who he
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: said he is, who he was during his earthly ministry
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: and even for all eternity right now. So the disciples
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: were about to experience sorrow. Why? Because Jesus had to
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: be crucified. He was going to be crucified. So the disciples,
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: this was like a prep. for the disciples to experience
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: pain and sorrow when Jesus said this. But God promised,
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: Jesus promised that their sorrow would turn into joy, right?
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: When they saw him again. In other words, the cross, painful,
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: people were hurt, discouraged. They were like, Jesus, no. Like
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: they didn't want him to die. Such a brutal death, right?
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: On the cross. But Jesus promised, when you see me again, Amen?
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: Meaning I'm coming back. When you see me again, that
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: sorrow will become joy. That sorrow will turn into joy.
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: How many people want to have joy, experience joy? I
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: like happiness, but happiness is kind of like circumstantial, right?
• 11:37
  Speaker 1: I'm happy when my marriage is good. I'm happy when
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: my children are listening. I'm happy when there's food in
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: the fridge. I'm happy when my bank account is overflowing.
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: But anything that there are changes, Happiness kind of like disappears.
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: But when you have the joy of the Lord, you
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: could be broke. You could be busted and disgusted at
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: some days, right? But the joy of the Lord never
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: leaves you. The joy of the Lord will never leave
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: us because God will never leave us nor forsake us.
• 12:04
  Speaker 1: He won't leave us busted, broke, disgusted in this world
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: full of pain and sorrow without showing up and bringing peace, victory, abundance,
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: and joy.
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: Jesus will show up in your life. Ask for him.
• 12:17
  Speaker 2: Ask about him.
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: Ask them to become a reality in your life and
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: just see what happens. People are so afraid, oh, I
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: can't do that because I'm in this religion or I
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: don't believe, I don't go to church.
• 12:30
  Speaker 2: You know, that's popular.
• 12:32
  Speaker 1: When you and I preach Jesus or testify who the
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: Lord is, one of the first things that people say, well,
• 12:40
  Speaker 1: I don't go to church or they say, oh, I
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: go to church because they automatically put church first. as
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: a person when we're talking about the person of the
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ. We're not talking about an establishment. We're
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: not talking about a building. We're talking about a body
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: of Christ, right? And Christ being the head of the church.
• 12:59
  Speaker 1: So the joy that Jesus gives us isn't depending on
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: perfect circumstances.
• 13:05
  Speaker 2: Please understand that.

  Speaker 1: I got to do good before I go to church
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: and experience the joy of the Lord.
• 13:10
  Speaker 2: No, you don't. You show up.
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: Jesus is already present. Jesus is already alive. Jesus is
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: already full of joy. Jesus already promised us what he
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: said in his word. Amen.

  Speaker 2: He said what he said. He meant what he said. Amen.

  Speaker 2: And he accomplishes what he says.

  Speaker 1: So when Jesus shows up with his joy, that joy
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: is not dependent on perfect circumstances. That joy comes from
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: knowing that Jesus is faithful. That Jesus and his promises
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: are all good. That his promises are all yea and amen.
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: And his promises always remain true. and that your future,
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: our future, is secure in him, right? So I don't
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: know what's going to happen a minute from now, 10
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: minutes from now, an hour from now.
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what the future holds,
• 13:57
  Speaker 2: but I do know, I really do know who.

  Speaker 1: Holds my future. What about you, right? These are uncertain times, obviously,
• 14:05
  Speaker 1: dark times. Every day that I'm alive, I'm one day
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: closer to, you know, to be out of here, to
• 14:12
  Speaker 1: be honest. So these are my last days. These are
• 14:15
  Speaker 1: your last days because we don't know about tomorrow. We
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: just have a memory of yesterday. Like, I don't really
• 14:21
  Speaker 1: remember everything I did yesterday, but we have memories of yesterday.

  Speaker 1: And right now we have the present, right? Tomorrow's not promised.
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: Yesterday's far away. And we have today, right now, the present.

  Speaker 1: So live your life, you know, day by day.
• 14:36
  Speaker 2: Live your life.

  Speaker 1: Choose Jesus. Choose joy. Choose peace. Choose freedom, right? Choose deliverance.

  Speaker 1: Do it all today. Tomorrow, who knows, right? I might

  Speaker 1: not be a talking head on these screens no more tomorrow,
• 14:53
  Speaker 1: but as I have today, amen, I have an opportunity
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: to give glory, honor, and worship to the Lord.

  Speaker 2: What about you? Don't be ashamed either. Everybody's doing what
• 15:01
  Speaker 2: they're doing in the world. Haven't you noticed?

  Speaker 1: Some people are living a carefree life. They have no
• 15:06
  Speaker 1: cares in the world about anything. But as Christians, we
• 15:12
  Speaker 1: should be caring about people who live like that. Brother Armando,

  Speaker 1: So this Savior that shows up and makes this statement

  Speaker 1: in John chapter 16, right? It's the same Savior that

  Speaker 1: can show up in my life and in your life

  Speaker 1: right now and continue to make these promises because all

  Speaker 1: his promises are faithful and true.

  Speaker 2: Right? Yeah.

  Speaker 1: Pain.

  Speaker 2: Before joy. Absolutely.

  Speaker 1: And if you're, I'm not even going to debate that.

  Speaker 1: I've been through pain. You've been through pain. We have

  Speaker 1: a common ground in pain. People who are from other religions,
• 15:51
  Speaker 1: other faiths, what we can definitely agree on is that
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: we go through pain and sorrow all through, across the board,
• 16:00
  Speaker 1: all around the world, right? People go through pain and sorrow.

  Speaker 1: But what happens when Jesus shows up? Jesus shows up
• 16:07
  Speaker 1: with peace. He shows up with joy. He said, The
• 16:10
  Speaker 1: peace I give you, Jesus said, is not the peace
• 16:12
  Speaker 1: that this world gives you. The peace that the Lord
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: gives us transcends all understanding. People can't understand the type
• 16:18
  Speaker 1: of peace and the type of joy that born-again believers have.
• 16:22
  Speaker 1: They think this is pie in the sky. Listen, we
• 16:25
  Speaker 1: have experience. If you're born again, you know we have
• 16:27
  Speaker 1: experience of losing loved ones, pain, betrayal, right? People slandering
• 16:33
  Speaker 1: and gossiping about us, right? But we have the Lord
• 16:36
  Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of of the
• 16:39
  Speaker 1: God-man because he is God that showed up in the flesh.
• 16:43
  Speaker 1: And he promised us to have joy and peace because
• 16:48
  Speaker 1: of him. Not because of anything we could do or
• 16:51
  Speaker 1: anything that we could make up or anything that we
• 16:53
  Speaker 1: could put together. It's because he's already put together. He's
• 16:56
  Speaker 1: our foundation, the rock, our salvation, our foundation. He's the
• 17:01
  Speaker 1: one who, when he makes a promise, he will show
• 17:04
  Speaker 1: up good on his promises.

  Speaker 2: All the time. Like his record, Of wins is 100%.

  Speaker 2: No losses.

  Speaker 1: Jesus doesn't lose anyone. No one can pluck anybody out

  Speaker 1: of his hand, whoever the Father gives him. Jesus said,

  Speaker 1: no one can take them away from me, out of
• 17:21
  Speaker 1: my hand.

  Speaker 2: Amen? So he never loses. Amen? He always wins. You

  Speaker 2: want to be on that winning team. So don't allow

  Speaker 2: today's pain. Right?

  Speaker 1: If you haven't experienced pain, praise the Lord. But one
• 17:34
  Speaker 1: day when you do experience the pain, remember Jesus' words
• 17:37
  Speaker 1: in John chapter 16. They won't allow that pain to
• 17:41
  Speaker 1: steal tomorrow's hope, right? Keep praying no matter what. There's
• 17:47
  Speaker 1: never going to be a shortage of prayer requests. I
• 17:51
  Speaker 1: could sit down in my studio right now after this
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: is over and think about who should I be praying for? Bro,
• 17:59
  Speaker 1: names outside of my family will start coming up. Friends, myself,

  Speaker 1: my children, my family, my friends, my enemies. the government, leaders,

  Speaker 1: the president, governors, like there's never going to be a
• 18:14
