- Lucas: Luna, bienvenue! Welcome back to Learn French with Fexingo. Episode 199 — can you believe it? Luna: I know! We're so close to 200. Last episode we tackled -ER verbs like 'parler' and 'aimer'. I've been practicing: 'Je parle français, tu parles anglais.' Lucas: You nailed it. Today, let's add some emotion to those sentences. I want to teach you how to say when you're bored or excited. Luna: Oh, I love that. Sometimes I'm super excited, other times... not so much. Lucas: Exactly. So first, how to say 'I'm bored.' In French: 'Je m'ennuie.' Say it with me: 'Je m'ennuie.' Luna: Je m'ennuie. Lucas: Good. It's a reflexive verb, but don't worry about the grammar now. Just remember the phrase. If something is boring, you say 'C'est ennuyeux.' Luna: C'est ennuyeux. Lucas: Perfect. Now, for excitement, you can say 'Je suis impatient' — I'm excited, I can't wait. But careful: 'impatient' in French means eager, not impatient like in English. Luna: Ah, so 'Je suis impatient' is positive. Got it. Je suis impatient. Lucas: And if something is exciting, say 'C'est passionnant.' That's like 'That's thrilling.' Luna: C'est passionnant. I can imagine saying that about a good movie. Lucas: Exactly. Let's put them to use. Imagine you're at a lecture that's dragging on. What do you say? Luna: Je m'ennuie. C'est ennuyeux. Lucas: Right. But then your friend tells you about a concert tonight. You'd say... Luna: Je suis impatient! C'est passionnant. Lucas: Yes! You're a natural. Let's do a quick dialogue. I'll start: 'Tu veux aller au cinéma ce soir?' Luna: Ah, je suis impatient! C'est passionnant! Lucas: Perfect. Now repeat after me one more time: 'Je m'ennuie.' Luna: Je m'ennuie. Lucas: 'C'est ennuyeux.' Luna: C'est ennuyeux. Lucas: 'Je suis impatient.' Luna: Je suis impatient. Lucas: 'C'est passionnant.' Luna: C'est passionnant. Lucas: Fantastic. You know, creating these episodes every day is something a lot of people enjoy.
