- 2:07Speaker 4: What?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Oh? Oh, oh, we're doing the Bible? The Bible the Bible.
- 2:14Speaker 1: No we're doing No, we're.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Doing something unholy.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I mean it's not on holy.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I mean I guess how you look at it. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: mean it could be.
- 2:27Speaker 4: On hold psychology. We're doing another psychological horror today.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, for the for the Halloween season. And today I
- 2:35Speaker 2: am gonna be talking about the of course, in the
- 2:38Speaker 2: fashion of me, it's not gonna be necessarily a book
- 2:41Speaker 2: this time around.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean I am gonna be talking about a book
- 2:43Speaker 1: later on this month.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But today I'm gonna be talking about a manga that
- 2:47Speaker 2: I found when I was doing my digging on some
- 2:51Speaker 2: good short horror manga and I'm like, what's a good
- 2:56Speaker 2: ship out here? It's very short, like one volume, and
- 2:59Speaker 2: I found one called Bibliomania, and I'm like, oh, this
- 3:03Speaker 2: is interesting. Let me take any hair. So Bibliomania is
- 3:07Speaker 2: written by Orvelle and the art was by a Chiro.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Machiro story by uh or.
- 3:20Speaker 4: So I think like, yeah, so, I think like in
- 3:22Speaker 4: Japanese it's like pronounced but in English like Orville Oral.
- 3:27Speaker 3: And then of course the artist is Machiro.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So Bibliomania is of course a one shop manga that's
- 3:35Speaker 2: around three hundred and thirty pages, or on the digital
- 3:38Speaker 2: version that I have, it's like two hundred and ninety
- 3:43Speaker 2: eight pages. It is a if. It mixes dark fantasy,
- 3:48Speaker 2: sci fi fiction and paranormal. Not by paranormal, oh my god,
- 3:51Speaker 2: it psychological horror. And it's a very it's a book
- 3:56Speaker 2: that's very surreal and dream like because it doesn't take
- 3:59Speaker 2: place in the mortal majority of the time.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it has elements of like nightmare elements surrealism, and
- 4:08Speaker 4: also strong body horror.
- 4:10Speaker 3: So of course we know your body horror.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I knew, I knew.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So the book starts off with a quote. The quote says,
- 4:19Speaker 2: I have other sheep too that are not in this sheepful.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I must bring them. Also they will listen to my voice,
- 4:29Speaker 2: and there will be one flock with one shepherd John
- 4:33Speaker 2: ten sixteen reading the Bible verses, it folks up my
- 4:37Speaker 2: dyslexiac So i'body this doesn't sound right. Is this just?
- 4:40Speaker 4: Is this me?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Or this just doesn't sound right?
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's it's because the way the Bible verses are written.
- 4:45Speaker 2: So the book starts with a Bible verse, and then
- 4:47Speaker 2: of course it starts off with a city that has
- 4:51Speaker 2: this large egg like object in a center and then
- 4:56Speaker 2: lightning strikes it and it opens, its blasted open, and
- 5:00Speaker 2: something comes out of it. And the people are surrounding
- 5:03Speaker 2: this egg like structure and something comes out of it,
- 5:05Speaker 2: and you see this thing shadowing people, towering over people,
- 5:11Speaker 2: and you see a child look at it and say.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Oh, a snake. And then we jump to people running
- 5:18Speaker 1: for their lives.
- 5:20Speaker 3: A knife, No, no.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Go away, Johnny, I'm working.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I love you, I love you. I'm working. Okay, so
- 5:38Speaker 2: we jumped to after oh a snake, we jumped to
- 5:41Speaker 2: three men running for their lives talking about how this
- 5:45Speaker 2: thing ate everybody. The structure was surrounded by a bunch
- 5:49Speaker 2: of people and all got eaten. And these three men
- 5:52Speaker 2: come across this weird obviously, this very large creature looking
- 5:56Speaker 2: at them, and they all start dying. And then we
- 5:59Speaker 2: then to of course eating the people, destroying the city.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's chaos, discord. The end of the world. Oh my God,
- 6:07Speaker 2: and then title screen Bibliomania, and the way that bibli
- 6:12Speaker 2: Omania is shown in the book, as far as the
- 6:14Speaker 2: child screen goes, it makes it look like very aztechy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I don't know, it's weird because I'm like, is this
- 6:21Speaker 2: gonna be as tech or am I just trip it?
- 6:24Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't know. If that's I'll send
- 6:27Speaker 2: the pitch. I'll send a screenshot to it you to
- 6:29Speaker 2: to you later think about it, am I. It's give me
- 6:32Speaker 2: aztec vibes for some reason. That might just be me,
- 6:38Speaker 2: but it jumps to a young girl in a white room.
- 6:43Speaker 2: She wakes up in this white room and she's like
- 6:46Speaker 2: what And the white room has on her sorry, on
- 6:49Speaker 2: her back of her hand, she has number four three one,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and she sees in this white room, it's just her
- 6:58Speaker 2: and this door says four thirty on it, and this
- 7:02Speaker 2: door is very innate, and it's cart lock harvings in it,
- 7:07Speaker 2: a lot of weird horror scary. It's a creepy looking door.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And on the door handle there's a close up of
- 7:13Speaker 2: the door handle with a snake on it with a crown.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And she goes to open the door and this serpent
- 7:21Speaker 2: pops up behind her and introduces himself as I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 2: his name is Serpent. He's like, oh my god, you're
- 7:31Speaker 2: my four hundred and thirty first guest. Yay, you're in
- 7:37Speaker 2: my manner. You're in room for thirty one. Baby, we're
- 7:41Speaker 2: gonna party. As long as you stay in this room,
- 7:44Speaker 2: you can wish for anything. You can wish for anything.
- 7:48Speaker 2: All yeah to Doude, just stay in this room. And
- 7:50Speaker 2: then once we hit six one hundred and sixty six,
- 7:55Speaker 2: once all the rooms are complete, six hundred and sixty six,
- 7:59Speaker 2: we'll have a bag quit a party.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Whoo whoo.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And the girl introduces herself as Alice, and she's like, oh,
- 8:05Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 8:07Speaker 1: That's cool, I guess.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And of course, in the meantime, she's in the room
- 8:13Speaker 2: and she's like, oh, she could wish for anything and
- 8:15Speaker 2: it all come true, and she's like, I'm hungry. And
- 8:18Speaker 2: then a bunch of desserts appear in the room, and
- 8:21Speaker 2: the Serpent's like, yeah, so whatever you wish for in
- 8:23Speaker 2: this room will come true, and you just live your
- 8:28Speaker 2: best life here in this room. And then we jump
- 8:32Speaker 2: back five days before Alice enters the man Now, in
- 8:35Speaker 2: this book, we are in this manga, we are go
- 8:41Speaker 2: kind of back and forth between Alice before she enters
- 8:44Speaker 2: the Manor and then Alice while she's in the man
- 8:46Speaker 2: So five days before Alice enters the Manor, she's walking
- 8:49Speaker 2: around to the destroyed city and looking for the looking
- 8:53Speaker 2: for something. She's sniffing around trying to smell for something,
- 8:57Speaker 2: and she is walking around this city heading to go
- 9:01Speaker 2: look for something. You're like, what is she looking for?
- 9:04Speaker 2: So then we jump back to room for thirty one,
- 9:08Speaker 2: and then she's like, I'm gonna leave, and it s her.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It's like, no, no, no, you don't want to leave,
- 9:12Speaker 2: because if you try to leave, you're gonna go through
- 9:14Speaker 2: four hundred and thirty rooms to get to room zero
- 9:17Speaker 2: zero zero, and that you'll leave, you'll leave the mannor
- 9:20Speaker 2: go back to reality. But on your journey there, you'll
- 9:23Speaker 2: be rotting. Your body will rot as you continue on
- 9:28Speaker 2: through the other rooms, because each room has a door
- 9:30Speaker 2: to the to the number before it, and the goal
- 9:34Speaker 2: is to She wants to get out, so the goal
- 9:36Speaker 2: is to get to room zero zero zero and he's like,
- 9:40Speaker 2: if you do that, you're gonna die. You're gonna rot
- 9:42Speaker 2: and die, and she's like, no big deal. So she
- 9:47Speaker 2: goes into room for thirty, or she takes her first
- 9:51Speaker 2: step into room four thirty and she notices her hand
- 9:54Speaker 2: starts melting into like this weird eldridge monster like tendril,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and she's like oh, and she comes back into the
- 10:03Speaker 2: room and it heals back. It's like, oh, that's weird.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And then she starts, yeah, basically, fuck up her body.
- 10:14Speaker 1: You get the rooms.
- 10:15Speaker 2: He so she then says, fuck it, let's go. So
- 10:19Speaker 2: Alice goes. Now, Alice is a little girl, probably imagine
- 10:23Speaker 2: if you will, a girl probably about ten maybe eleven,
- 10:28Speaker 2: big old bow bowl cut, wearing a nice little cute
- 10:32Speaker 2: black dress. She's a little girl and she's like, I'm
- 10:35Speaker 2: going on a journey, and she starts going through the
- 10:37Speaker 2: different rooms and she starts seeing the other people that
- 10:40Speaker 2: occupy these rooms and what they wish for. First guy
- 10:43Speaker 2: in room four thirty was a man who is punishing
- 10:46Speaker 2: himself over and over again for his sins. Literally, it's
- 10:52Speaker 2: a room full of him being judged and it's head
- 11:00Speaker 2: decapitated or his sins that he commits. And that's what
- 11:03Speaker 2: he wished for his own self, punishment for all his
- 11:07Speaker 2: sins that he committed in the real world, and you're
- 11:11Speaker 2: just like, okay, you kind of thought it's something kinky,
- 11:17Speaker 2: and that's not because it gets beheaded out each time
- 11:20Speaker 2: and then it replay and then basically he relives it
- 11:22Speaker 2: again and again and again self torment, and I'm just like,
- 11:25Speaker 2: that's okay. Then we jumped to room four thirteen, and
- 11:31Speaker 2: a woman wished to become a bird to be free.
- 11:34Speaker 2: So now when she entered when Alice entered this room,
- 11:37Speaker 2: she lands on this bird that has the face of
- 11:40Speaker 2: a human woman and just flying around two sets of wings,
- 11:42Speaker 2: flying around these different planes, and she wished for this
- 11:46Speaker 2: to be free. And as she's entering these rooms, the
- 11:51Speaker 2: serpent pops up plains to her what the person wished
- 11:54Speaker 2: for what? And you kind of get an idea of
- 12:00Speaker 2: Scapism is a big theme plot point in this book,
- 12:04Speaker 2: because the Serpent's like, why would you want to leave?
- 12:07Speaker 2: You can just live the rest of your life in
- 12:08Speaker 2: this in this in your room and wish anything you
- 12:11Speaker 2: want and just do whatever you want. And she's like,
- 12:14Speaker 2: but the outside world though, but that's not life though,
- 12:19Speaker 2: So she wants to get out and live life. So
- 12:23Speaker 2: then we jump to three eighty five then we come
- 12:26Speaker 2: to a otaku or in cell type of guy who
- 12:30Speaker 2: wished to become a superhero, so he became like a
- 12:34Speaker 2: basically like a whole like Japanese Power Ranger Marvel character,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and he went and basically because he wanted to be
- 12:41Speaker 2: the hero and you want to be the cool guy
- 12:43Speaker 2: and get all the lady.
- 12:45Speaker 3: So is that what? Uh? Is that? What an otaku
- 12:49Speaker 3: is is like a.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Tako, I would say a jab.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I would say an takoo is a Japanese equivalent equivalent
- 12:55Speaker 2: of an in cel.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I wouldn't either are related.
- 13:00Speaker 4: I would because I've seen otako used to refer to
- 13:03Speaker 4: people who are very like into like who are fanatics
- 13:06Speaker 4: kind of like yes, who are very into like certain
- 13:09Speaker 4: things like I mean like I'm into Godzilla, but I'm
- 13:12Speaker 4: not an insult like.
- 13:13Speaker 2: No, okay, So well, taku outside the outside the country
- 13:16Speaker 2: of Japan, we use that as like, oh, someone who
- 13:18Speaker 2: loves anime. It's not it's not a derogatory term. But
- 13:22Speaker 2: in Japan, and they see that as a negative because
- 13:24Speaker 2: the people that they call takus are usually the shut ins.
- 13:27Speaker 2: People do not leave the house, usually men, and they
- 13:31Speaker 2: do nothing but watch anime. Read manga, and they idolize
- 13:36Speaker 2: the anime female anime characters and ship. They're kind of
- 13:40Speaker 2: the equivalent to an in cel and.
- 13:42Speaker 4: So okay, because, like you were saying, like that reallyves
- 13:45Speaker 4: the house is very into anime and manga in comics,
- 13:47Speaker 4: and I'm just like it's because, like I I work
- 13:52Speaker 4: from home now, so I don't I rarely ever leave
- 13:54Speaker 4: the house.
- 13:55Speaker 3: But like at the same time, I'm not a shut in,
- 13:57Speaker 3: Like I'm always.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Like yeaheah from you, interacts with my boyfriend and like
- 14:02Speaker 4: going out to see him.
- 14:03Speaker 2: So I'm not I mean, if I was going to
- 14:06Speaker 2: insult people, I'll be doing the same thing myself because
- 14:08Speaker 2: I literally have a whole shelves full of manga and
- 14:11Speaker 2: Marvel comics.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Every Yeah see, you guys are only seeing you guys
- 14:15Speaker 4: are only seeing my bookshelf right here. This is just
- 14:17Speaker 4: like one little corner in my room, like behind my
- 14:20Speaker 4: camera's like, oh my Godzilla pop figures.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It's everywhere, It's everywhere. They see everything this poor guys,
- 14:29Speaker 2: it's poor figures. You see so much mm hmm uh yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So insel Otaku type shut in once become a superhero,
- 14:40Speaker 2: had the perfect physique once all the ladies wants.
- 14:43Speaker 1: To be cool and liked by people.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And by this point, her arm all the way up
- 14:50Speaker 2: to her shoulder is been getting rotted and it looks
- 14:53Speaker 2: like it's very plant like ten drils are popping up
- 14:55Speaker 2: and her body's working into a mons what looks and
- 15:02Speaker 2: then we cut back to more of the city scenes
- 15:04Speaker 2: of Alice walking around the landscape of this broken world
- 15:08Speaker 2: and she finds his book covered in chains and she's
- 15:11Speaker 2: like oh, and then she sniffs it and she's like, oh,
- 15:15Speaker 2: it smells like my little brother. And you're just like what, Like, I'm.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Like wait what?
- 15:23Speaker 2: First of all, like yeah, man, it's like this book
- 15:29Speaker 2: smells like my little brother.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna take it home.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And then she turns around and walks right back home
- 15:34Speaker 2: through that same landscape, and then we jump to more rooms.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Three Room three.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Six six, it's a room with somebody that loves to smoke,
- 15:43Speaker 2: because smoke is surrounding everywhere, and this person has like
- 15:46Speaker 2: three or four different types of cigarettes and bead and whatnot,
- 15:48Speaker 2: and there's are smoking it. And then you jump to
- 15:53Speaker 2: room three thirty nine. It has a room that a
- 15:58Speaker 2: person became a tree. He lives in the woods with animals,
- 16:01Speaker 2: so she's talking to a tree person like straight out
- 16:04Speaker 2: Lord of the Rings. And then Room three point fifty
- 16:08Speaker 2: nine is a room full of music and instrument that's it.
- 16:13Speaker 2: And then of course you jump over to room three thirty.
- 16:16Speaker 2: It's full of nude bodies, naked women based apparently somebody
- 16:20Speaker 2: wished for a lot of sex, and you're just like what,
- 16:24Speaker 2: and she's just and Alice is looking at these bodies.
- 16:26Speaker 2: She's like, eugh, lude and I'm like, work queen, work
- 16:31Speaker 2: at queen. So that's three point thirty three twenty four.
- 16:35Speaker 2: She meets an ASTROI in space that tells her don't
- 16:38Speaker 2: you want to smell the universe? And he takes off
- 16:41Speaker 2: his helmet in space and you're like what, that's weird,
- 16:46Speaker 2: kind of creepy. And then three twelve is a room
- 16:49Speaker 2: full of TVs with different shows and different media playing
- 16:53Speaker 2: big old universal TVs and television. Then we go to
- 16:58Speaker 2: three oh six and it's a casino. June ninety eight
- 17:01Speaker 2: is a room that has a big baby that plays
- 17:05Speaker 2: that's playing with toys, a literal huge child joining worm's
- 17:10Speaker 2: child playing with toys, robots and whatnot. Then we go
- 17:14Speaker 2: back to the outside, back to day, one day before
- 17:19Speaker 2: entry of the of the Manner, she goes back to
- 17:21Speaker 2: her city and she, oh, that's what. Yeah, that's when
- 17:24Speaker 2: she finds the book. She's like, smells like a little
- 17:27Speaker 2: brother and goes, that's heading home. Then we go back
- 17:29Speaker 2: to room two eighty five. By this point, her body
- 17:35Speaker 2: is seriously rotting. It's becoming these ten dri old things.
- 17:39Speaker 2: She has like a wolfhead coming out of the back
- 17:41Speaker 2: of her head behind her hair. She's morphing into like
- 17:44Speaker 2: some abomination like the Thing or something honestly, something James
- 17:49Speaker 2: or I would create in worse, like a body horror scenario.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Her body is not is unrecognizable at this point, and yeah,
- 17:58Speaker 2: it's gross. And she comes over to a room that
- 18:03Speaker 2: has a man in twoenty five. That's a man who's
- 18:07Speaker 2: having dinner with his family. And basically his backstory was
- 18:11Speaker 2: he taught how he taught people how to logic in
- 18:17Speaker 2: school and shit, and he would talked about how the
- 18:20Speaker 2: perfect family, and he would come home to not a
- 18:24Speaker 2: perfect family, but he wished for the perfect and because
- 18:28Speaker 2: he was a piece of shit, so his wife and
- 18:30Speaker 2: kid left him and gets really this room was really
- 18:34Speaker 2: it hits really hard because it's emotionally driven, and he
- 18:37Speaker 2: basically Serpent talks about how he basically was a piece
- 18:42Speaker 2: of shit and how he lost his wife and kid,
- 18:44Speaker 2: and he obviously in this room he wished he had
- 18:49Speaker 2: that had them back, had the perfect family, had what
- 18:52Speaker 2: he always wanted. So he was just reliving this dinner
- 18:57Speaker 2: with his wife and child over over. We're living the
- 19:03Speaker 2: same day, him going to going to school, teaching kids
- 19:09Speaker 2: about life, and then going home to this perfect dinner
- 19:15Speaker 2: over and over over, and you're just like, oh god,
- 19:22Speaker 2: oh my, oh dear. And then, of course, the story
- 19:25Speaker 2: between Alice and the Serpent is the conversation of staying
- 19:30Speaker 2: in Staying in this room gives you everything you ever want.
- 19:33Speaker 2: But Alice is like, you call this life, you call
- 19:38Speaker 2: this living being in here, being a shut in, cutting
- 19:42Speaker 2: yourself off from the real life, basically escapism, And you're like,
- 19:47Speaker 2: are you escapism is not better than real life, being outside,
- 19:52Speaker 2: being in the world, world, talking with people, talking with people,
- 19:55Speaker 2: have connections with them.
- 19:56Speaker 1: So you got the polar opposites between the.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Then ten seconds ten seconds later, Oh so then we
- 20:05Speaker 2: jump to Alice. Ten seconds before entry into the manor,
- 20:09Speaker 2: she breaks the chains off of the book and You're
- 20:12Speaker 2: just like, how the fuck do you do that? Because
- 20:14Speaker 2: those chains are like heavy steal and she starts. She
- 20:18Speaker 2: opens a book and the page is unravel and she
- 20:21Speaker 2: enters the manor. So basically the manner that she's in
- 20:25Speaker 2: is a book. Each page is a guest, six hundred
- 20:30Speaker 2: and sixty six pages, and she is four thirty one
- 20:33Speaker 2: and she's basically traveling through this book to get out.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Two seventy six Room to seventy.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Six is a woman that asks is basically a woman
- 20:44Speaker 2: that looks beautiful, gorgeous, looks like like, okay, what do
- 20:49Speaker 2: I call it? The birth of aphroditi or birth of venus? Painting?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Looks like she looks like.
- 20:55Speaker 2: That, And she asks Alice why she wants to leave
- 20:59Speaker 2: and not things out there but pain and death in
- 21:01Speaker 2: the real world, and Alice reply, Alice replies with what
- 21:05Speaker 2: about your family? Who would be sad if you were gone?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Now trigger future devon and put this in the beginning
- 21:17Speaker 2: trigger warning.
- 21:18Speaker 1: There's a there's talk about.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Self harm, uh suicide in this book, and this it
- 21:28Speaker 2: gets a little heavy in some of these rooms because
- 21:30Speaker 2: people obviously have issues and these rooms reflect that. So
- 21:36Speaker 2: put that in the beginning or record or record later
- 21:40Speaker 2: later trigger warning and shit, do all that before you
- 21:43Speaker 2: post it anyway. So this woman's like, so basically air
- 21:46Speaker 2: alex hells it. So what about your family? Wouldn't your
- 21:48Speaker 2: family miss you if you were gone? And you get
- 21:54Speaker 2: a look into this woman's story and how she was
- 21:56Speaker 2: a how she thought she was a burden for her
- 21:58Speaker 2: family because of medical bills, and she was a very
- 22:02Speaker 2: sick person while live and while in the real world,
- 22:05Speaker 2: and she always thought herself as a burden problem for.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Her friendly and if they're better off without her.
- 22:11Speaker 2: So when she tries to uh do the deed and
- 22:21Speaker 2: taken care of not taking care of it, Oh my god,
- 22:25Speaker 2: how gon not word it?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Try to hang herself.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I don't know how you would word that in on
- 22:30Speaker 2: triggering way, but try to hang herself. And then she
- 22:32Speaker 2: found the book at her feet, so she went to
- 22:35Speaker 2: the book. And now she lives her life in the
- 22:37Speaker 2: book being as beautiful as she's always wanted to be.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And she's not being a burden to anybody because she's
- 22:44Speaker 2: rather begne than having to be with a burden medically
- 22:49Speaker 2: and just constantly hadn't be taken care of. And I'm like, Damn,
- 22:54Speaker 2: y'all don't have to go that hard shit that was depressing.
- 22:59Speaker 2: So that it's two eighty two seventy six, and then
- 23:03Speaker 2: we go to to sixty eight and has a room
- 23:06Speaker 2: full of paper. Now this room was a guy who
- 23:10Speaker 2: tried to escape, but basically when he got to he
- 23:14Speaker 2: try to get to zero zero zero, he basically unraveled
- 23:19Speaker 2: in two like scrolls paper. So his room's full of
- 23:22Speaker 2: this scroll like paper, and it's the guests. He just
- 23:26Speaker 2: unraveled at the seams basically when he tried to get
- 23:30Speaker 2: out of the manner or the book. Two fifty five, oh,
- 23:37Speaker 2: and be course, by this point she's rotted Alice is
- 23:41Speaker 2: rotted gooded, and she's becoming like this weird monster like
- 23:45Speaker 2: grimlin looking thing as she's crawling through and then two
- 23:49Speaker 2: fifty five comes as she comes across a man who
- 23:52Speaker 2: heals her. So in this room in two fifty five,
- 23:54Speaker 2: there's a scientist and he does experiments, I guess because
- 23:59Speaker 2: he knows about the poison or the rodding, so he
- 24:02Speaker 2: basically rigs it where she's not writing anymore as long
- 24:07Speaker 2: as she's in that in this little glass ball that
- 24:10Speaker 2: she's in. But she's like, oh, thanks, but I'm gonna
- 24:13Speaker 2: keep going. But she keeps going, and when she she
- 24:17Speaker 2: also learns about the book too, or about the manner.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So basically, the scientist explains to her that once the
- 24:23Speaker 2: book eats six hundred and sixty six people, it will
- 24:27Speaker 2: combine the flesh and souls of them to form a
- 24:31Speaker 2: being with immense power. That's the party that cirparent is
- 24:36Speaker 2: talking and she's like, oh okay, and she just keeps going.
- 24:42Speaker 2: And by this point you start noticing that something's off
- 24:44Speaker 2: with Alice. She's not really taking this seriously. She's like
- 24:47Speaker 2: nonchalant about it. She's like, oh, okay, no big deal.
- 24:50Speaker 2: And he's like, what's up with this girl? This girl's weird.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I'm like, that's got a book. It's just that's weird,
- 24:59Speaker 2: weird one hundred percent, because I'm just like, you found
- 25:02Speaker 2: a book in the ocean, You're like, oh, this sounds
- 25:03Speaker 2: like a little brother, and then you open it. You
- 25:05Speaker 2: willingly go into the book knowing like, do you like girl?
- 25:10Speaker 2: You know something that we don't Bobby. So from there
- 25:15Speaker 2: we jump through rooms that are basically terrifying two fifty four,
- 25:22Speaker 2: two forty nine to thirty seven, But Alice keeps going,
- 25:26Speaker 2: and she's going and she's rotting again, and the and
- 25:30Speaker 2: the serpent is like, I mean, you can go back
- 25:34Speaker 2: to your room and just be normal again and the
- 25:36Speaker 2: rotting will reverse. But like a gang go off girl,
- 25:41Speaker 2: and she keeps going and going, and then she dies
- 25:43Speaker 2: in room zero nine. She falls to the ground and
- 25:48Speaker 2: a rotting corpse of tendrils and like plant life, it's weird.
- 25:55Speaker 2: She goes like a moshpodge of different monsters and tendrils
- 25:59Speaker 2: and shit, and she dies and the serpent makes a
- 26:03Speaker 2: scene of her death and he's like, you see that
- 26:05Speaker 2: fulls you who seek to escape will only find death.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And then, of course Alice, he starts he noticing the
- 26:17Speaker 2: body twitching, and he's like, what the fuck?
- 26:19Speaker 1: She sheds her skin.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Alice busts out of the dead corpse and she's back
- 26:25Speaker 2: to normal again, and her skin just sheds. She sheds
- 26:28Speaker 2: her skin, and you're like what the fuck. Of course,
- 26:31Speaker 2: Serpent's like, hello, who the fuck are you? How can
- 26:36Speaker 2: you shed your what? And then she goes zero to
- 26:39Speaker 2: one hundred, basically because the Serpent's like the fuck. And
- 26:43Speaker 2: then she starts running through super speed, running through all
- 26:47Speaker 2: the rooms from zero nine to nine to she reaches zero,
- 26:53Speaker 2: and she reaches zero, and now she's running, she's rotting,
- 26:57Speaker 2: and she's shedding her skin, sheds her skin over and
- 27:01Speaker 2: over and over again to get to zero zero zero.
- 27:04Speaker 2: So when she reaches that, she sheds one last time
- 27:06Speaker 2: and a serpent starts freaking out on who the fuck
- 27:09Speaker 2: are you? How are you doing this? And then she
- 27:11Speaker 2: walks out, well, actually she starts telling him the story
- 27:15Speaker 2: and then she walks out. You're like what, And he's like,
- 27:20Speaker 2: how the fuck did she leave? Go through four hundred
- 27:22Speaker 2: and thirty rooms and you're like what. So he has
- 27:27Speaker 2: a big old board that has all the rooms that
- 27:29Speaker 2: are lit up there occupied, and then four thirty one
- 27:32Speaker 2: dims and then four thirty one lights up, and then
- 27:37Speaker 2: all the other rooms get filled up to six sixty
- 27:40Speaker 2: six and he's like, how is this happening? So, and
- 27:47Speaker 2: of course the serpent is a static, Oh my god,
- 27:50Speaker 2: we can have the party. So he starts having his banquet.
- 27:56Speaker 2: He starts going to pay room to room, devouring every
- 28:02Speaker 2: eating everyone in each of the room, devouring their souls,
- 28:06Speaker 2: devouring their bodies. It becomes amalgamation of flesh and war,
- 28:11Speaker 2: and he's just going through all six hundred and sixty
- 28:13Speaker 2: six rooms and just eating and he becomes a book
- 28:19Speaker 2: opens it becomes like this snake like Deity hiju like Deity,
- 28:26Speaker 2: and he's like, ah, I'm in the real world and
- 28:29Speaker 2: he's like wait, and of course his goal is like
- 28:32Speaker 2: I want to make it where no one has to
- 28:35Speaker 2: feel sadness and pain again. And then he looks out
- 28:38Speaker 2: in the world and he's like, where's everybody the fuck?
- 28:42Speaker 1: He's like, the fuck is everybody?
- 28:44Speaker 2: It's like anishable to me, just like yeah, literally, and
- 28:48Speaker 2: then he sees Alice on top of a building and
- 28:51Speaker 2: he goes older and she's like so Alison tells him
- 28:57Speaker 2: a story, a story of a princess who was very
- 29:00Speaker 2: sick and wanted to go outside but couldn't. So she
- 29:04Speaker 2: delved into dived into books. She read and read and
- 29:08Speaker 2: read and craved, and she craved knowledge like this bitch
- 29:11Speaker 2: was invested in knowledge. She wouldn't know every little thing.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah, possible.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And then she made plans to write a book to
- 29:18Speaker 2: end all books and she called her book the Book
- 29:22Speaker 2: of Truth. Now it changed now with this book as
- 29:28Speaker 2: she created, it changed her. It changed her into this
- 29:31Speaker 2: weird like Eldridge butterfly humanoid being that basically magic. Magic
- 29:40Speaker 2: got involved and she became an Eldredge deity of some
- 29:43Speaker 2: kind that looked like a butterfly, and then she started
- 29:48Speaker 2: devouring emotions and memories of people. She wanted to get
- 29:53Speaker 2: all the knowledge in the world, so she started devouring
- 29:55Speaker 2: people to do it. Emotions, memories, and you're just going
- 30:00Speaker 2: everything from everybody, and her book is constantly growing, and
- 30:05Speaker 2: they started a war. Of course, humanity took advantage of
- 30:09Speaker 2: this book obviously, of course, like you do, use it
- 30:12Speaker 2: as a weapon. And then there was a war called
- 30:15Speaker 2: the biblio a plastic War and war yeah, like like
- 30:24Speaker 2: biblio plastic. Yeah, yeah, that's the word that sounds. What's
- 30:29Speaker 2: what it looks like. It looks like, but it caused
- 30:31Speaker 2: the war, and the humans decided to seal her away
- 30:35Speaker 2: into this large structure that looks like an egg mm hmm.
- 30:42Speaker 3: And then yea.
- 30:44Speaker 2: After that, years and years and years went by and
- 30:48Speaker 2: people wanted to recreate that book. We're obviously a weapon,
- 30:53Speaker 2: so they made a bunch of copies. They are less
- 30:55Speaker 2: they have lesser pages, and they're a little and they're
- 30:58Speaker 2: like lesser than the Book of Truth. But she basically,
- 31:02Speaker 2: but they basically made a bunch of clones or a
- 31:05Speaker 2: bunch of different types of these books trying to get
- 31:08Speaker 2: the same formula that the Book.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Of Truth had.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And then due to another nation that bombed this island
- 31:18Speaker 2: nation that everything was on, all the books burned, but
- 31:22Speaker 2: a few, so a few of these copies survived. And
- 31:26Speaker 2: then one thousand, seven hundred and eighty six months later, sorry,
- 31:32Speaker 2: one thousand, seven hundred and eighty six months, twenty four
- 31:36Speaker 2: days after the event of the Great War, the Book
- 31:39Speaker 2: of Truth was reopened. Basically, what happened was a storm
- 31:44Speaker 2: formed and lightning struck the egg and crashed it open,
- 31:48Speaker 2: and what came out was Alice. Alice is a snake.
- 31:57Speaker 2: When she comes out, she looks like a humanoids with
- 32:00Speaker 2: butterfly wings and butterfly aesthetics. It looks cool. She looks
- 32:05Speaker 2: lit and then she's yeah, and then she starts devouring people,
- 32:11Speaker 2: devouring humanity. She goes from one country to another, all
- 32:15Speaker 2: around the world, devouring people, taking their memories, emotions. Her
- 32:18Speaker 2: book has endless pages, and then she gets bored and
- 32:22Speaker 2: she's like, Oh, I'm gonna go find my other book.
- 32:25Speaker 2: My siblings. If you will and Serpent's like no, what,
- 32:32Speaker 2: And of course she towers over Serpent powers like this
- 32:37Speaker 2: bitch is huge, and Serpent's like it's a little bitty. Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Alice is like, you're nothing, You're worthless.
- 32:49Speaker 2: You are trash. You are a trash copy of the original. Baby,
- 32:55Speaker 2: You're trash. So I'm gonna take all your pages. I'm
- 32:57Speaker 2: gonna eat you. You're the only way you're You're gonna
- 33:01Speaker 2: be lucky that I'm leaving record of you in my book.
- 33:04Speaker 1: But I'm gonna take every all your souls in flesh.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna eat it all. So he eats, so she
- 33:08Speaker 1: eats them.
- 33:09Speaker 2: That bowers him, all devours all the souls that he had,
- 33:12Speaker 2: all the pages, devours his flesh, and he becomes part
- 33:15Speaker 2: of her.
- 33:18Speaker 1: And at the.
- 33:19Speaker 2: End, after she devours him, she goes back to that
- 33:22Speaker 2: little girl the form of the little girl again, and
- 33:24Speaker 2: she's on top of a destroyed building looking out at
- 33:27Speaker 2: this hellscape and she's like, hmm, I have to And
- 33:32Speaker 2: she basically tells her brother as he's dying, I have
- 33:34Speaker 2: to consume the souls of man, adding more words for
- 33:38Speaker 2: that is happiness. Although there's probably nobody left to read
- 33:43Speaker 2: it as she looks out at the hellscape of the
- 33:48Speaker 2: end of the world and she in the book ends
- 33:51Speaker 2: with her just looking out at the destroyed world and
- 33:53Speaker 2: she's like, huh, there's no one left. That's it.
- 33:58Speaker 1: That's the end of the book.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Like girl, girl, I was behoo. I knew something was freaky,
- 34:05Speaker 2: but I expect her to be the monster. And I'm like, okay, girl,
- 34:11Speaker 2: eat mama, she ate, she ate left left no crumbs.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Literally, I'm looking.
- 34:16Speaker 3: At her right now, like, yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I love it. It's great.
- 34:23Speaker 2: And the different themes of courses in this book, of
- 34:27Speaker 2: course explores escapism versus reality, decay versus transformation, identity versus guilt,
- 34:36Speaker 2: and visual art and like arts three rituals. But how
- 34:42Speaker 2: this woman is Princess dives in the book so hard
- 34:48Speaker 2: that she wants to know every little thing to the
- 34:52Speaker 2: point where she destroys.
- 34:53Speaker 1: The world because of it.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Right, damn plot clap girl, this this ship, this ship busting,
- 35:04Speaker 2: this ship busting.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Get a queen, Get a girl.
- 35:08Speaker 4: I will say it definitely has like a very like
- 35:11Speaker 4: Alice in Wonderland vibe.
- 35:13Speaker 3: I mean it's kind of on the nose with like
- 35:15Speaker 3: her name. And I guess Serpent is like the White Rabbit,
- 35:19Speaker 3: like kind of like the White Rabbit.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Mixed with the Red Queen and like a bunch of
- 35:24Speaker 4: different characters mixed together, because like you know, the Queen
- 35:27Speaker 4: of Hearts is supposed to be the bad guy.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Serpent ends up being the bad guy in the end.
- 35:31Speaker 4: But then it's like, oh, plot twist, it's actually Alice
- 35:35Speaker 4: who's the bad guy, and Serpent is the It's just
- 35:39Speaker 4: the worm that's about to get eaten.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of goes into also outside of just
- 35:47Speaker 2: Alice in Wonderland, it also kind of imitates there's references
- 35:53Speaker 2: to the Bible and other religious texts as well. I
- 35:57Speaker 2: mean six six x A serpent the devil, the devil
- 36:03Speaker 2: or Satan, not Lucifer, because Lucifer and Satan are not
- 36:08Speaker 2: the same thing. But we're not going to get into
- 36:10Speaker 2: that because I will stand on that hill till I die.
- 36:14Speaker 2: But even when you think you're the biggest threat, there's
- 36:20Speaker 2: always a threat much worse than.
- 36:21Speaker 1: You, right right behind you on your tail.
- 36:24Speaker 2: And it's just how it also talks about how Prince,
- 36:28Speaker 2: how a person is so obsessed with knowledge and wanting
- 36:31Speaker 2: to learn everything possible that even means killing everybody because
- 36:38Speaker 2: she can't go outside, so she'd rather learned about the
- 36:41Speaker 2: outside world and eventually get outside. And that's why she's
- 36:44Speaker 2: so much against escapism. She's like, but real life is
- 36:47Speaker 2: out there because she's fondly able to enjoy the outside
- 36:51Speaker 2: world even though she killed everyone to do it. Basically,
- 36:56Speaker 2: now she's floating around a planet of nothing, and she's
- 37:00Speaker 2: probably just going around finding her other siblings, the lesser
- 37:04Speaker 2: the lesser books and just devouring them to add more
- 37:06Speaker 2: pages to her book.
- 37:08Speaker 1: To herself, she is the book of truth.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and I like how she like has there's symbol
- 37:15Speaker 4: there's a lot of butterfly symbolisms, like, especially with her
- 37:18Speaker 4: monstrous forms. In Japanese culture, butterflies symbolize the souls of
- 37:24Speaker 4: the living and the dead, and they also represent transformation
- 37:30Speaker 4: and joy, and they're seen as messengers guiding spiracy afterlife.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, they purposely chose that look.
- 37:40Speaker 4: For her, and the Japanese have a very like there's
- 37:45Speaker 4: a lot of symbolism behind butter for butterflies in Japanese culture,
- 37:48Speaker 4: and it's just like, I wonder what that like butterfly symbolism,
- 37:52Speaker 4: so like, what is what a butterflies represents? Because in
- 37:54Speaker 4: our culture it's just like feminine, like femininity in spring,
- 37:58Speaker 4: but like for them, there's a little bit more.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I mean it also represents like if you look at
- 38:04Speaker 2: the Western world, a lot of European cultures, they they
- 38:09Speaker 2: show that as like again transformation, embodiment to your true self,
- 38:15Speaker 2: shedding the once old you and whatnot. But yeah, there's
- 38:20Speaker 2: this book is this book is book is good. I
- 38:24Speaker 2: enjoyed this. This is good, like this is some good ship.
- 38:27Speaker 2: You want a good It's not really called ki spooky.
- 38:31Speaker 2: It's a lot of body horror, that's for sure. It's
- 38:34Speaker 2: not necessarily scary. But if you want to tackle read
- 38:38Speaker 2: something that that tackles a lot of tough topics, very
- 38:42Speaker 2: dark topics, especially in some of these rooms, it's it's good.
- 38:47Speaker 2: It's gets you thinking. You're just like, Damn, I was
- 38:51Speaker 2: at work when I finished reading this, and I was like,
- 38:55Speaker 2: the fuck do I do now? Uh? What do we
- 38:58Speaker 2: read now?
- 38:59Speaker 1: Damn?
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:00Speaker 1: Beat that the fun? It was fun.
- 39:03Speaker 4: I mean we probably can because one of the next
- 39:04Speaker 4: books we're going to be reviewing after this is going
- 39:08Speaker 4: to be You Weren't Meant to Be Human by Andrew White.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, so I am going to try to read
- 39:15Speaker 4: this before the end of October. I still got two
- 39:19Speaker 4: other books I gotta read, but this one's pretty short,
- 39:21Speaker 4: so I think I could tackle it in like a
- 39:22Speaker 4: day or two just for y'all.
- 39:27Speaker 2: So let me see what how many Okay, so we
- 39:33Speaker 2: got last week we did what do we Do? Last
- 39:37Speaker 2: week and part it, and then this week we did.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Bibliomania.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And then for October, how many Thursdays?
- 39:49Speaker 4: We have?
- 39:51Speaker 2: Two more?
- 39:51Speaker 1: No?
- 39:52Speaker 2: Three more, three more weeks? Three more episode?
- 39:58Speaker 1: I have one one.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I have one that I'm going to do, but that
- 40:01Speaker 2: is the book doesn't come out till till September thirtieth. Yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 2: and I'll probably get through that very quickly because that
- 40:09Speaker 2: one's very short. As far as the others, I'm sure
- 40:12Speaker 2: it can probably another.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah, my friends, but what other once.
- 40:16Speaker 4: I could read, because like I haven't read The Ruins yet,
- 40:19Speaker 4: because that's what we could do and The Ruins.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Like I just watched The Ruins the movie.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 40:24Speaker 4: It like I didn't realize I forgot how short it was,
- 40:27Speaker 4: and I realized, like not a lot actually happened, Like
- 40:31Speaker 4: it was pretty short. It was pretty straightforward and short,
- 40:33Speaker 4: so you didn't have to like it wasn't like a
- 40:35Speaker 4: lot of suspense, Like as soon as they get trapped
- 40:37Speaker 4: on the pyramid, it's like, oh, it's like.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Huh killer flowers, am I right? Right? So it's like
- 40:47Speaker 3: because like I also have the ruins. It's an old
- 40:51Speaker 3: coffee and this one is like what.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Three hundred and nineteen pages on this book, and it's
- 41:10Speaker 4: pretty it looks kind of thick, but it's actually looks
- 41:13Speaker 4: like it's pretty short and it's larger prints.
- 41:16Speaker 3: So like like I could get through in like a
- 41:19Speaker 3: less than like a few days.
- 41:21Speaker 4: So I may end up pausing my uh streak through
- 41:26Speaker 4: Dungeon Crawler because uh, like I'm on book six.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Right now, Dungeon car Carl. Yeah, I'm on book three. No,
- 41:34Speaker 2: I just sorry, I just finished book three. I just.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Book three was good to get to the Feral Guts.
- 41:43Speaker 3: That was probably one of my favorites.
- 41:45Speaker 5: I know, I definitely like the dungeon Dungeons, uh, the
- 41:49Speaker 5: Dungeon Crawlers, the Dungeon Anarchists Cookbook.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and then there's the next one is The Gate of.
- 41:57Speaker 3: The Faral Gods.
- 41:59Speaker 5: That one was fun on The Butcher's Masquerade was lit.
- 42:05Speaker 3: It was lit because that's.
- 42:07Speaker 4: On floor six, and floor six is called the Hunting Grounds,
- 42:10Speaker 4: and that's a floor where alien hunters get to enter
- 42:14Speaker 4: the dungeon and hunt crawlers for sport. And it's also
- 42:18Speaker 4: like to help prepare for the faction wars, which happens
- 42:22Speaker 4: on floor nine. Because the thing is is that in
- 42:26Speaker 4: floor nine you have a bunch of alien factions who
- 42:29Speaker 4: compete and fight each other. And the thing is they
- 42:33Speaker 4: can't collect they themselves can't collect enchanted items or magical
- 42:39Speaker 4: artifacts on their own, So the Hunting Grounds is their
- 42:42Speaker 4: opportunity to hunt as many dungeon crawlers as possible, collect
- 42:46Speaker 4: as much of their gear as possible, and take it
- 42:49Speaker 4: to the ninth floor so they can use it.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Well.
- 42:52Speaker 4: The thing is is that they've never met Carl, and
- 42:56Speaker 4: like Carl does the thing Rex have, and like since
- 43:01Speaker 4: like a lot of the dungeon crawlers have become more organized,
- 43:04Speaker 4: the hunters are gonna be in for a root awakening
- 43:07Speaker 4: by the time floor six starts, So you're gonna be
- 43:10Speaker 4: That one's gonna be fun for you to read.
- 43:12Speaker 5: And the one, uh, the one I'm currently on the
- 43:16Speaker 5: eye of the bedlam Bride. If you like cards like
- 43:19Speaker 5: Magic the Gathering like card games like Magic the Gathering
- 43:22Speaker 5: or Yu gi Oh. You might like this floor a
- 43:25Speaker 5: little bit better because they incorporate a card game, uh mechanic,
- 43:31Speaker 5: But me who straight up hates card games like that, Like,
- 43:36Speaker 5: I don't like Magic the Gathering very much, and I
- 43:39Speaker 5: absolutely despise Yu gi Oh. And if you're out, and
- 43:42Speaker 5: if you want to ask me why, you just think
- 43:44Speaker 5: of all the toxicity that goes on in that community,
- 43:46Speaker 5: and you know why. But and yes I am, and
- 43:50Speaker 5: I am blasting the Ugo community.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Because yeah, yeah, they are toxic.
- 43:57Speaker 4: You know when I was when I was a kid,
- 43:59Speaker 4: the the game was a lot more simplistic and their
- 44:02Speaker 4: rules were not like that hard to understand the problem
- 44:06Speaker 4: is is that the Yugoh community became so toxic that
- 44:10Speaker 4: they dead asses had to start putting in more detailed
- 44:14Speaker 4: descriptions on car monster card effects and spells. So like
- 44:18Speaker 4: before you would have like a simple card effect or
- 44:21Speaker 4: a simple like magic or trap card effect, but now
- 44:24Speaker 4: like you have a whole paragraph written on the card
- 44:28Speaker 4: explaining exactly what the spell effect does. I'm like, so,
- 44:32Speaker 4: so this community became so toxic that they dead ass
- 44:36Speaker 4: had to like put in like literally had to spell
- 44:38Speaker 4: out the details of every card effect. And then also
- 44:42Speaker 4: the ban lists on uh and Yugyo is so long
- 44:46Speaker 4: that most of the cards you can't even use, like
- 44:50Speaker 4: tournament wise, tournament wise, and like me, I'm not a
- 44:52Speaker 4: tournament kind of guy, Like, I just want to play.
- 44:55Speaker 4: I just want to play a game for fun. That's
- 44:58Speaker 4: what games are supposed to be for. I don't want compete.
- 45:01Speaker 4: But you know, everyone, most people want to make tournament
- 45:04Speaker 4: legal car like decks or decks that are meant to
- 45:08Speaker 4: be used in tournaments. And I'm like, I'm a filthy casual,
- 45:12Speaker 4: all right. This shit ain't fun for a filthy casual,
- 45:14Speaker 4: all right, And I own that title. I'm a filthy casual.
- 45:18Speaker 4: I play games for fun, not for competition, all right.
- 45:23Speaker 4: But everybody else wants to play for competition and rarely
- 45:26Speaker 4: want to play for fun. So I'm all like, okay, welcome,
- 45:28Speaker 4: be a filthy casual in my in my corner over here,
- 45:31Speaker 4: and you guys can like just kill yourselves over this,
- 45:35Speaker 4: like over the stupid card game.
- 45:36Speaker 3: So I'm reading like books, I'm reading.
- 45:38Speaker 4: The I The Bedlin Bride right now, and I'm just like,
- 45:41Speaker 4: oh my god, can this floor be Like, couldn't couldn't
- 45:44Speaker 4: have Prepotente the goat Prepotente. Couldn't he have like broken
- 45:49Speaker 4: this floor instead of floor seven? Floor seven? Should have
- 45:52Speaker 4: like they should have just done floor seven and broken
- 45:54Speaker 4: floor eight instead, because God, I don't like it. Like
- 46:00Speaker 4: as I'm starting to read it and I'm realizing, like, oh,
- 46:02Speaker 4: they're gonna be doing card games now, Like I immediately
- 46:04Speaker 4: lost interest like the rest of this series, right, Golden
- 46:08Speaker 4: Right loved everything. I like eight through these books in
- 46:11Speaker 4: like a month, right, and then I get to book six,
- 46:14Speaker 4: and now I'm like it's been two weeks since I started,
- 46:16Speaker 4: and I'm dragging through it because I absolutely hate the
- 46:19Speaker 4: card game system, and I'm like, can we skip this?
- 46:22Speaker 4: Can we skip this? Like now that's getting closer to
- 46:25Speaker 4: the end. It's the pace is I'm getting closer to
- 46:28Speaker 4: the end. The pace is picking up, and I'll be
- 46:29Speaker 4: able to like get through it because like now, like
- 46:31Speaker 4: even the car, even the players, the crawlers are all realizing,
- 46:34Speaker 4: like this game is this card system that they created
- 46:38Speaker 4: is stupid because they're making the mobs.
- 46:42Speaker 3: They're making the mobs like play to like use cards
- 46:46Speaker 3: and totems two.
- 46:47Speaker 4: And in some cases, the mobs will end up like
- 46:51Speaker 4: try eating their own cards, or they won't even use
- 46:53Speaker 4: their own cards and try to like attack crawlers directly,
- 46:56Speaker 4: and how the car the crawlers can attack the other
- 46:58Speaker 4: players too, while like the game is in play, like
- 47:02Speaker 4: the card game is in play, so it's just like
- 47:04Speaker 4: most crawlers end up nerving their the opponent that they're
- 47:07Speaker 4: supposed to be dueling against with the cards, and it's
- 47:10Speaker 4: just like okay, game over. So like so like a
- 47:14Speaker 4: lot of the crawlers are like, yeah, this is the
- 47:16Speaker 4: system's broken. Like there's really no point in using these
- 47:20Speaker 4: cards unless like the game.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Forces you to use them.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Because if you're in a squad, the squad leader has
- 47:25Speaker 4: to be the one to play the cards, and in
- 47:27Speaker 4: this case, Donuts the squad leader because she has the
- 47:30Speaker 4: highest stats, so she's the one who has to use
- 47:32Speaker 4: the cards while Carl is over here like having to
- 47:35Speaker 4: like take care of business. So it's like, Okay, finally
- 47:41Speaker 4: we're getting somewhere. And like when I started, really when
- 47:43Speaker 4: they started doing that, that's when I'm starting to Now
- 47:45Speaker 4: I'm starting to pick up speed in the book because
- 47:47Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, yes, that's that's exactly what you need
- 47:49Speaker 4: to do with card players like that.
- 47:50Speaker 3: You just got to punch them in the fucking face. Ah,
- 47:55Speaker 3: that's what you gotta do.
- 47:56Speaker 4: M It's like, screw these screw these little pieces of cardboard.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Just punch him in the face.
- 48:04Speaker 1: The cardboards. Fun play bad.
- 48:09Speaker 2: The gathering occasionally, but yeah, your friends not to go
- 48:13Speaker 2: hamming it.
- 48:14Speaker 3: I know, like you guys got him into it. I'm
- 48:16Speaker 3: a little pissed about that.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, not you too, because of Avatar, I know, but.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm o where you're.
- 48:25Speaker 4: Just like, damn nerds, a bunch of nerds.
- 48:34Speaker 1: That's the man who's also a nerd.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Yeah, who's also a nerd who has a whole shell
- 48:40Speaker 4: full of.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Like within the past two years alone.
- 48:48Speaker 4: My my pop collection has like has increased by like
- 48:55Speaker 4: two hundred because, like a right, for the longest time,
- 48:58Speaker 4: I only had one Godzilla Pop and then I bought
- 49:03Speaker 4: that Mecca Godzilla pop figure, and then you got me
- 49:06Speaker 4: that Mathra Pop figure, and then I bought the other
- 49:09Speaker 4: Godzilla Pop figure in that set, the black Light set,
- 49:12Speaker 4: and then and then and then now I have like
- 49:15Speaker 4: over a thirty vone I think on one, two, three,
- 49:20Speaker 4: four or five, six, then, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen,
- 49:29Speaker 4: twenty three, six.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Twenty, I have twenty eight.
- 49:34Speaker 4: And that's not counting the youtubes that I have, or
- 49:37Speaker 4: that the poster set that I have with Mathra and Godzilla,
- 49:43Speaker 4: but with those like Mathra Godzilla, that's five extra. So
- 49:46Speaker 4: that's thirty three pop figures I have. And that's including
- 49:49Speaker 4: the youtubes and the yeah more coming out, like I'm
- 50:00Speaker 4: getting like coming out, Like I'm probably not gonna get
- 50:03Speaker 4: the new Shin Guns Amazon exclusive because Amazon, like they
- 50:08Speaker 4: screwed up my pre order, Yeah, because they tried charging
- 50:12Speaker 4: it to a card. I didn't want them to charge
- 50:13Speaker 4: it too, and I had to cancel it and repre
- 50:16Speaker 4: order it. But I guess when I did that, I
- 50:18Speaker 4: lost my spot and it got it was given to
- 50:20Speaker 4: somebody else, and now they're completely sold out. So I'm like,
- 50:29Speaker 4: I guess I'm not getting that Shin Guns a lot.
- 50:30Speaker 4: I mean, I already have one Shin Guns altt, but
- 50:32Speaker 4: you know that other one was the one where he's
- 50:34Speaker 4: like in his atomic breath sequence and then destroy is
- 50:38Speaker 4: still coming out, and like I think Destroyer is already
- 50:43Speaker 4: available on the pop website, the Funko website, but like
- 50:49Speaker 4: Amazon hasn't released their as yet, and I pre ordered
- 50:52Speaker 4: them on Amazon, and I'm thinking of just canceling that
- 50:54Speaker 4: and just ordering them off the Funko site because it's
- 50:57Speaker 4: taking forever. But I gotta wait. I think I'm gonna
- 51:04Speaker 4: wait because I get free shipping with Amazon. That's that's
- 51:07Speaker 4: my thing. I get free shipping with Amazon, and now
- 51:10Speaker 4: and now and now and now. There's like five other
- 51:12Speaker 4: pop figures coming out, like those three Sleeping Gods. Of
- 51:15Speaker 4: those three sleeping pop figures like Space, Godzilla, KINGI, Doora
- 51:18Speaker 4: and Godzilla with Minute Godzilla Sleeping, and then there's also
- 51:22Speaker 4: two more coming out after that. It's in my ass.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I find a fund room like I got Space. I
- 51:34Speaker 3: mean yeah, I'm sure there's over here that.
- 51:37Speaker 4: I still have that I haven't really put anything on it,
- 51:40Speaker 4: so I probably will add to putting them there.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Wait, there's two in there.
- 51:47Speaker 3: You shut your format, you shut.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Your form out. You're going to defile that man later.
- 51:58Speaker 1: That poor is that man?
- 51:59Speaker 2: This part is not gonna in the podcast, but you're
- 52:01Speaker 2: going to defile that poor innocent man.
- 52:03Speaker 4: There something poor or innocent about that man. And what
- 52:08Speaker 4: do you mean I'm going to defil, defoul him the
- 52:15Speaker 4: only one. The defiling is going to be done on
- 52:17Speaker 4: his part.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Mm hmm. He's the corruptor. I'm not not me.
- 52:24Speaker 1: What do you mean he's the corruptor.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Oh you think I'm the Do you think he's the
- 52:30Speaker 3: innocent one?
- 52:31Speaker 5: Girl?
- 52:35Speaker 1: I don't want to see that.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Yeah, don't, don't worry about it. Don't worry about him anyway.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Uh but anyway, guys, they it for book watchers.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Oh my god. Oh no, like fucking rabbits, aren't.
- 52:50Speaker 3: You that's any business.
- 52:57Speaker 1: I love tea. I love the tea.
- 52:59Speaker 3: I'm sure you do.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Anyway, thank you guys again for watching the book watchers
- 53:04Speaker 4: cash us.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Next week we will be reviewing a book.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Yeah, a book, a book.
- 53:12Speaker 4: It's gonna be another horror novel. I'm not sure which
- 53:14Speaker 4: one we're gonna we're gonna do yet we haven't.
- 53:17Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Well, the only one I do you have ready is
- 53:24Speaker 3: this one.
- 53:24Speaker 4: This is by local artists for the Texas, Texas, San
- 53:28Speaker 4: Antonio Austin area.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Uh. This is we'll be reviewing Zero Saints.
- 53:33Speaker 4: It's by Gavino Iglesias and now not to be confused
- 53:38Speaker 4: with Gabrielis the comedian, but this one is a It
- 53:45Speaker 4: is a Latin American novel, and I enjoyed it. It
- 53:50Speaker 4: was different take. It has somewhat of a supernatural vibe
- 53:53Speaker 4: to it, and I will say there's elements of like
- 54:00Speaker 4: there is elements of gang violence and just so like
- 54:04Speaker 4: kind of kind of like the immigrant experience, so like
- 54:07Speaker 4: some of the things that some Mexican or Latin American
- 54:11Speaker 4: immigrants do do experience.
- 54:15Speaker 3: It was a decent book. I read this because I
- 54:17Speaker 3: wanted to.
- 54:18Speaker 4: Read something Latin American for uh, you know, Hispanic Hispanic
- 54:22Speaker 4: heritage a month as well as the upcoming holidays, especially
- 54:27Speaker 4: Dat de los Martos. This is not specifically Data des
- 54:30Speaker 4: Mertal's theme, but it is Latin American Mexican American themes.
- 54:36Speaker 4: So we will be reviewing this next Friday, or ye,
- 54:40Speaker 4: we'll be reviewing I should.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Say we should be. We'll be reviewing this next.
- 54:44Speaker 4: Week next Fridays when we're going to be we're going
- 54:46Speaker 4: to actually record it, not actually when we posted, but yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 4: you know, cut that out that and being stupid.
- 54:53Speaker 3: Hey, we're gonna be reviewing this one next week. So
- 54:55Speaker 3: until then, Guess next time he
