And today we're going to take that a step further. We'll learn how to say what you do on those days. Luna: Oh, like activities? I love that. You say: Was machst du am Montag? Let's break it down. Was means 'what', machst du is 'do you', and am Montag is 'on Monday'. Luna: Was machst du am Montag? Was machst du am Montag. Lucas: Perfect. And to answer, you say: Am Montag arbeite ich. That means 'On Monday I work.' Let's practice. Am Montag arbeite ich. Luna: Am Montag arbeite ich. So 'arbeite' is the verb for work? Lucas: Yes, it's the first person of arbeiten. Now let's try another verb: spielen, which means 'to play'. So 'Am Montag spiele ich.' means 'On Monday I play.' Luna: Am Montag spiele ich. That's easy. What about 'on Tuesday I learn German'? Lucas: Great idea. The verb 'to learn' is lernen. So: Am Dienstag lerne ich Deutsch. Say it with me: Am Dienstag lerne ich Deutsch. Luna: Am Dienstag lerne ich Deutsch. Am Dienstag lerne ich Deutsch. Lucas: Excellent. And one more: kochen, meaning 'to cook'. So 'On Wednesday I cook' is Am Mittwoch koche ich.
