- 0:10Christmas comes early this year, on December 20th in fact, as
- 0:13Muppet fans are treated to another live Muppet Movie script
- 0:15reading, this time featuring the beloved Muppet Christmas Carol.
- 0:19Tough Pigs is once again proud to present the show's companion
- 0:22podcast where we'll chat with the people involved in bringing
- 0:24the show to life with me. As always, there's no friend to
- 0:27us here at Tough Bigs. He's the director and producer
- 0:30of the live script readings and I'm excited he's here.
- 0:32It's Matt Wilkie. Hello, Matthew.
- 0:34Oh, hello, Jared. How are you?
- 0:36I'm very well. I'm excited because my guest
- 0:38today is a comedian and actress who's appeared in shows like
- 0:41Leanne on Netflix and Dropouts. Make some noise.
- 0:44And as a social media follow, I strongly recommend should be
- 0:48playing Lou Zealand and Belinda Cratchit in the upcoming show.
- 0:51Or is it Patina? That's Emily Cratchit says
- 0:53whatever, It's Hannah Pilcus. Hi, Hannah.
- 0:56Hello. I'm very excited to speak to
- 0:58you. I know, how fun is this?
- 1:01Gosh, if there's one thing that gets me going, it's Muppets.
- 1:04Wow, I mean, let's dive straight in.
- 1:07Your Instagram bio says you are part Muppet.
- 1:10I feel like I feel like my husband is Kermit and I'm like
- 1:14Piggy and Chef. A crossover and maybe Cookie
- 1:18Monster. So maybe not Muppet Christmas
- 1:21Carol specific and maybe a little Michael Gain a little
- 1:25more cocaine. Yes, yes.
- 1:28So what? What does being part Muppet mean
- 1:30to you? I mean, I'm, I'm a long time.
- 1:34I even have a labyrinth. The babe with the power tattoo.
- 1:36I'm a Henson head. They grew up watching Fraggle
- 1:39Rock, Dark Crystal labyrinth. I love practical effects.
- 1:43I love puppets so much. I love Sesame Street growing up
- 1:47and The Muppets. To me, especially Muppets
- 1:50Christmas Carol, there is like no deeper joy in my gut than the
- 1:54feeling of total commitment of puppets.
- 1:57It is like it's a better universe.
- 2:00We should all just, we should live there.
- 2:03That's sort of my feeling. Yeah, let's get there.
- 2:06We'll, we'll do our best. Matt, do you have any Muppet
- 2:08tattoos? Because I mean, Hannah's got the
- 2:10Labyrinth one. I've got Kermit the Frog's eye
- 2:12tattooed to my wrist. I I do, I don't.
- 2:14I can't take my shirt off right now, but at the top of my
- 2:18sleeve, it's Kermit's collar. And then the rest of my skin
- 2:22goes down. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:23And I would love it for like, it's a full body.
- 2:25It starts here and. It starts here.
- 2:28We are. You're just entirely green under
- 2:31that outfit. Yeah.
- 2:34Thank you. And you've got a little Jim
- 2:38Henson on your back, like putting his hand inside you.
- 2:41All right, All right, let's move on.
- 2:44All right, honey, you said, you know, you feel like you're that
- 2:49mixture of Piggy and, and the chef and even a bit of Cookie
- 2:53Monster. And is there anyone else that
- 2:55you feel the energy flowing through?
- 2:57You let's see, I feel a little Snuffleupagus.
- 3:01I mean, this is I'm good. I'm branching out into Sesame
- 3:03Street here and you know what? Ghosts of Christmas past.
- 3:07I definitely like production design alone and costuming.
- 3:11I mean, chef's kiss and chef unreal.
- 3:15Like I love a treasure and a treat.
- 3:17Like if you're around my house, it's just like trinkets and I
- 3:20feel like like the grapes and the the gorgeous food spread.
- 3:24It's just so opulent and I love that.
- 3:27That sounds wonderful. Well, look, you'll be obviously
- 3:30playing the daughter of Miss Piggy as you play Belinda
- 3:33Cratchit. Tell me about that process.
- 3:35What's that going to be like? Oh, man, I mean hours and hours
- 3:40and hours of agonizing method. I mean, I'm going to make my
- 3:43husband's like hell. I'm going to probably cut off
- 3:46contact with my family for a little while just to really get
- 3:49in that feeling of, of togetherness and, and, and need
- 3:54and lack. It's going to be I'm I'm going
- 3:57to really disappoint a lot of people in my life, but that's
- 4:00how committed I am. They're all.
- 4:03Matt, who's playing the other Cratchit sister.
- 4:06The other Cratchit sister is Janet Varney.
- 4:10Lovely, lovely Janet. Yes.
- 4:12Love having her on the show. We'd love to have her fill in
- 4:15now and then when when she can on these fun little roles.
- 4:17And I think, I think the two of them together are just going to
- 4:20be great. Hannah, do you know Janet?
- 4:22Just just as a a faraway fan, so I mean, this whole this whole
- 4:26lineup is some folks that I know, but it is stacked.
- 4:28There's like no one that I'm not a fan of.
- 4:30I yeah, I would have gone to this if you hadn't asked me,
- 4:33which I was already going to reach out to you to ask you to
- 4:37ask me so. Well, that you know what that
- 4:40comes to my next question. How did you have much FOMO
- 4:43looking at the first three of these, Hannah?
- 4:46Yeah, yeah. I cannot but wonder when's it
- 4:50gonna be my turn. I mean, Paul, Paul's one of my
- 4:52dearest pals. I I did for Iatopia with Paul
- 4:55and Paul. So to me, part Muppet.
- 4:58I mean, I think we can all agree Paul has like Muppet blood as
- 5:01well in like this beautiful inner child, silly.
- 5:05So when Paul told me about him doing it this year and then I
- 5:09looked at years past, the FOMO was real.
- 5:11So truly I would like moments from writing to Matt already.
- 5:15So it really worked out. I was shamelessly going to be
- 5:19like, hey, I'm right here. Which I've been doing as well,
- 5:24Matt, but he still hasn't asked me to come in.
- 5:26OK, weird. You would have to kind of cross,
- 5:29cross emotions. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:33But you look, look for the right role.
- 5:35I mean, as we spoke in the last episode, Matt, if you need a Mr.
- 5:38Curly Twirly, here I am. That's an obscure Muppet,
- 5:41Hannah. I don't expect you to know who
- 5:42that is. Absolutely.
- 5:44That's a deep cut. Yeah, that's a.
- 5:46Pretty deep cut. Matt, can you talk about
- 5:49bringing Hannah into the fold? Absolutely.
- 5:52So Hannah is someone who who I adore.
- 5:56I love everything she's done on drop out.
- 5:58I died when she did the the voice of her pet, the really
- 6:03specific voice that was amazing. So instantly I was like, OK,
- 6:08that's someone I need to work with.
- 6:09And it's been such a wonderful year to be doing these
- 6:14presentations and to find people like Hannah who are real life
- 6:17Muppets. And so many of them do come from
- 6:19drop out. It's a, it's kind of a Muppet
- 6:22magnet over there. So it's, it's been wonderful to,
- 6:26to connect with Hannah. I just kind of blindly reached
- 6:29out on Instagram. I knew we had a bunch of mutual
- 6:31friends, but we just hadn't connected.
- 6:33And I was like, I really want it for this one and this is going
- 6:36to be the quickest way to do it. So I just, I just sent her the
- 6:39message and and as she said, she was immediately like, I was
- 6:42about to message you. So so happy it worked.
- 6:45Out and I'm I'm not like that. I'm not like, hey, can I be?
- 6:48I wouldn't put it past me to ask to be on a comedy show, but this
- 6:51was one where I was like, I'm going to sit in the audience
- 6:53pissed, so I'm going to have to go out.
- 6:57Just rush the stage next time if you're not in the next one and.
- 7:00That was my next thing. It was like the only good way to
- 7:02storm something. Yeah, it was good storming.
- 7:07I had genuinely forgotten about the dog with the other specific
- 7:10voice for the dog on Make some noise.
- 7:12For me, it was the IT was the person who's been in Amsterdam
- 7:15for two days and just comes back with an accent.
- 7:19Oh, yeah. OK.
- 7:21And if you want to know where, of course I am my father's
- 7:24daughter. My father is not part Muppet.
- 7:27He is a Muppet. He is a 70 year old Dutch man
- 7:31with an accent that to me has only gotten thicker over the
- 7:35years even though he's lived in the states since he was 18.
- 7:38And he'll say stuff like we are dying to know what the Super
- 7:41today is like. He is such a human up there.
- 7:44So I that's where the Amsterdam all he has like 7 siblings and
- 7:48they all live in Holland. But I love drop out for that
- 7:51because it really is just like a meeting of dopes.
- 7:54It's like the dopiest people who are also, I mean, some are so
- 7:58clever. My gift is more voices and
- 8:00sounds and sort of like, you know, gesticulating.
- 8:05But it's, it's such a, such a cool hodgepodge of, of brilliant
- 8:09people. Well, like we talked about this
- 8:11a little in the Giovanni episode, it's basically Sam's
- 8:16made The Muppet Show. Yes, yes, totally.
- 8:21He's completely just made The Muppet Show and I'm so jealous
- 8:24sitting and watching it because it really sometimes feels like
- 8:26you're watching The Muppet Show. It it's the closest thing
- 8:30because I feel like the misnomer with improv especially is that
- 8:34it has to be purely cerebral and heady.
- 8:37And it's like you have these brilliant people that are quick
- 8:40as lightning. But I also really appreciate
- 8:42that Dropout explores like all subsets of humor.
- 8:46So then there's like your Josh Rubens, who are just like so
- 8:49clowny as well. And you know, then you have your
- 8:52Giovanni's and your Anna Garcia's and your Lisa Gilroy's.
- 8:55But it's it's, it's, it's how I found some of my my favorite
- 8:59friends that I've like shamelessly DM being like,
- 9:02you're funny. How do you want to hang out?
- 9:03And also just yeah, like I love a bite sized clip that just
- 9:06makes you laugh as you're going about your day.
- 9:09Well that's why I said before I find like your social media or
- 9:12something I strongly advise people to follow.
- 9:17I scroll through your stuff constantly and I just giggle.
- 9:22What was the one? The one like an improviser at
- 9:24the back like trying to get in that you did like a few months
- 9:28ago? I laughed about that for four
- 9:29days. It just popped into my head at
- 9:31random times that I giggled to myself.
- 9:34I would love to say that that was fiction, but that had
- 9:37happened. The thing about improv shows
- 9:40last night, I was on fire. I was out every time one week
- 9:44before I left the wall once. And I'm like, I've done this for
- 9:47so many years. But comedy's so psychological,
- 9:50right, Which is why when you like the The Muppets, Chris,
- 9:54like it's so risk averse because you're like, you're going to
- 9:56help us. We're going to have rehearsals.
- 9:58The materials gorgeous, but improv is always a dice roll.
- 10:03You can still I'm at any age, at any level.
- 10:06I'm way like I've done. I did a little bit of improv in
- 10:09like high school. I'm too intimidated to go up and
- 10:12do what you guys do. It terrifies me.
- 10:16It's scary, but you know what? SO is living.
- 10:20So I'm like a simulation out there.
- 10:23At least don't go. At least if I make a fool of
- 10:25myself, I'm like, I have a pulse.
- 10:27I'm alive like another day. And I, the other day I did a
- 10:32horrible thing. I went to go sit and they had
- 10:38swiped the chair so it was a collapse onto the ground.
- 10:43The sound it made was like I'd broken every bone.
- 10:45The whole audience gasped and everyone sort of held.
- 10:50And then I rose and said I'm OK and we all collapse.
- 10:52But humiliating. It was like Tim Robinson's chair
- 10:57company, only there was no chair to catch me.
- 11:03So your company is very physically expressive.
- 11:05I mean, even just as you were talking then you were
- 11:07gesticulating very, very Swedish Sheffy.
- 11:11How tempting do you think it's going to be to like full go into
- 11:15that physicality while you're doing this script reading?
- 11:20Well, if there's ever something that lends itself to
- 11:22gesticulating, it's it's emulating puppets, right?
- 11:26Like you really. We need the arms, we need the
- 11:28gangl, we need the Chris Fleming body energy.
- 11:32We need, we need that silly. But yeah, I mean, in auditions
- 11:37for more grounded things, I have to tone it back.
- 11:39But I think for this, it might actually be quite well served.
- 11:44Scratch. It is maybe a bit a bit more
- 11:46subdued, you know, maybe a bit a bit more inward.
- 11:49But God, I'm so excited to watch.
- 11:52I'm already thinking about Anna playing the ghost and laughing
- 11:54to myself. Oh, we feel good.
- 11:57I I mean, are you going to get to tackle Mark Evan Jackson?
- 12:00Because at one point those two Cracker sisters just dive on
- 12:03Kermit. Well, do we have a stunt
- 12:06coordinator? We.
- 12:10Believe her, I think. I think Mark's open to doing
- 12:12stunts, yeah. Great.
- 12:14Perfect. Did a couple of stunts on The
- 12:15Good Place. He'll be fine.
- 12:17Yeah, I listened to his podcast and he talked about doing his
- 12:19own stunts. So just Hannah.
- 12:21They're telling. I do die that old stunts and
- 12:23improv shows, so we're ready to go together.
- 12:28Well, it is a fun role, but it's also can be quite subdued and
- 12:32there's some genuinely depressing moments that the
- 12:35Cratchit sisters sort of get to go through as.
- 12:38Spoiler alert, Tiny Tim dies, but he doesn't actually die.
- 12:43Is there an intimidation there of sort of playing that those
- 12:47more depressed depressing. Is that the word I'm after?
- 12:50Subdued, maybe? I would say like Earnest.
- 12:53I mean, that's another thing I love about Muppets and Sesame
- 12:56Street and all things Henson is that I always think it's crazy
- 12:59that Henson initially was making like adult programming and was
- 13:01like, I'm not going to do kids stuff.
- 13:03And then life kind of had other plans.
- 13:05But I think you feel that in all the work that he does and that
- 13:08Michael Caine is giving the performance of his goddamn life,
- 13:12there's no And I really appreciate that because I
- 13:15appreciate anything that doesn't stoop down to like, children
- 13:19aren't stupid, adults aren't stupid.
- 13:21Earnestness and sweetness and humanity is really beautiful and
- 13:24can be really funny. And I really appreciate that
- 13:27this, I'm always really moved in this, this rendition of the of A
- 13:31Christmas Carol, because I appreciate that everybody does
- 13:34play it really earnestly. And then you have the songs that
- 13:37add and infuse the humor and you have the pratfalls and that, you
- 13:41know, of course, cute puppet jumping into something in an
- 13:44explosion of some kind. But I I like the project.
- 13:48I don't know, there's something, there's something really sweet
- 13:51about the fact that it is like an honest portrayal of something
- 13:55kind of sad. Yeah.
- 13:56Yeah. Matt, when do you sort of go
- 13:58about casting for this one? The other shows are all very
- 14:03comedy based. This one is not necessarily as
- 14:05much of a comedy. Does that change how you go
- 14:07about casting or do you think about that a little bit more?
- 14:10I do actually, yeah. Yeah, I do think about how there
- 14:13is kind of a switch in a lot of characters there where it's very
- 14:18silly moments and then very serious moments.
- 14:21And it is definitely, it was front of my mind when I was
- 14:25doing casting for this one of people that I know can kind of
- 14:28play both sides and kind of bring a little bit of the
- 14:31sadness into the comedy and then a little bit of comedy into the
- 14:34sadness as well. And Hannah is a great example of
- 14:38that. I think.
- 14:38I think she's got that that skill within her.
- 14:40And I think we've got a lot of really great people that are
- 14:43going to are going to really impress.
- 14:45Yeah. And you need like, it gets
- 14:47really dark the the future ghost as a kid.
- 14:51I I mean, it's, it's also really a good cautionary tale.
- 14:55If there was ever anything that was going to whip me into shape
- 14:58in terms of like, give to your neighbor, be a good person, it's
- 15:01that freaking last ghost Pookie. Legitimately terrifying, yeah.
- 15:08Absolutely and really played so real and.
- 15:10Yeah, this is the third time I'll have said this during this
- 15:13podcast series. There is an argument to be made
- 15:15that this is a horror film. There's I mean, but again,
- 15:18that's very Henson right? Like I'm like Dark Crystal.
- 15:21I probably wouldn't show my 4 year old nephew, but like when
- 15:23he is old enough it is like the world building again.
- 15:27I think that he doesn't shy whatever is in service to the
- 15:31world, but I don't think he shies away from spooky things.
- 15:33I think you're right. Like my nephew, we had to turn
- 15:36it off. We had to turn off Muppets
- 15:37Christmas. He wasn't ready last year as it
- 15:39got darker. First half all about it.
- 15:42Second-half dicey. Yeah, I feel the same way now
- 15:46and I'm 36. Yeah, look, a lot of people like
- 15:53to wear some sort of costume that invokes their character.
- 15:56Hannah, have you thought anything about what you might
- 15:58wear? I haven't yet, but I famously
- 16:02have like 100 wigs and way too many costumes.
- 16:05I had to get a full storage unit because I'm not ready to part
- 16:09with my sketch comedy days. With good reason because you
- 16:12never know when you're going to pack up a trunk and need it.
- 16:14But I've got many a puffy sleeve.
- 16:17I've got like one of those like kind of bigger skirts, thinking
- 16:20about that. An apron of some kind, perhaps,
- 16:24you know, maybe a loaf of bread. I don't know.
- 16:26I don't know. I don't know how committed
- 16:29people get. Well, I.
- 16:32Mean they do. Get pretty committed.
- 16:33Yeah, go. On Yeah, I am always, always,
- 16:37always of the, you know, an improv back mind of go bigger
- 16:41and especially because it's Muppets, you can go as huge as
- 16:44you want. So everyone that I catch it's
- 16:46it's always complete 100% whatever you want to bring,
- 16:50whatever you want to wear, whatever kind of makeup or wig
- 16:52or anything at all, it's totally up to you.
- 16:54I just want you to have fun, and it sounds like you already are,
- 16:57which is great. Give me a wig.
- 17:00I'll wear a wig even when it's not necessary.
- 17:02When I did, you're the straight man.
- 17:04You're just going to come in and take everyone's order.
- 17:06They're like, why are you wearing red pigtails?
- 17:10Trust me, love a wig. I'm with you.
- 17:13I am. In our high school drama class,
- 17:15we had a whole closet that was filled with costumes and wigs
- 17:19and all that stuff. I wasn't allowed in it because I
- 17:22would walk in and I would come out and I just wouldn't drop
- 17:25character. I would walk around to school in
- 17:28like ridiculous outfits. I'd have people on my back
- 17:31running into classrooms shouting stuff.
- 17:33It's a miracle I didn't get expelled.
- 17:35I'm so impressed by this. Wow, is this a guy?
- 17:38Is this a quiet audition again to be in the next one?
- 17:41Well, I mean. I'm so mad that I never drop
- 17:44character. Exactly right.
- 17:45I have. Look, I'll be honest, I've been
- 17:47pitching to Matt that I should play Walter in the 2011 film
- 17:50when we get there, but he's definitely not interested, and
- 17:56that's fine. Well, let's talk about a much
- 17:58more fun role you'd be playing, which is New Zealand.
- 18:00Yes, way more fun and and one that I had to go back.
- 18:05Some of these I needed to be reminded of because you just
- 18:07don't know the name. There's so many characters
- 18:09names, but that's going to be really fun is that we're going
- 18:12to get to sing. Yes, yeah.
- 18:14So, So Jared, we talked about this last time in the music
- 18:17episode. There's one of the problems with
- 18:20doing these shows, which is a cool problem to have, which is
- 18:23that there's so many characters and at least once every Muppet
- 18:27movie there's a moment where it's like 16 Muppets are all
- 18:30talking over each other. So you can't skimp on that even
- 18:33if you like triple cast or quadruple cast.
- 18:36So for a lot of these now I've realized that the especially the
- 18:40singing parts are easy to kind of just give off to a different
- 18:44character. So that way you don't need to
- 18:45cast someone else for just a one line song reading.
- 18:51So yeah. So in this version that we're
- 18:53presenting, the song, Scrooge has a little bit of singing from
- 18:57New Zealand, which is gonna be fun and interesting.
- 19:00I'm excited. I'm excited for a music
- 19:02rehearsal. Yeah, it'll be fun.
- 19:04As you can tell. I have like permanent nodes from
- 19:07drop out voices that you aforementioned.
- 19:10But so this New Zealand will have a real husk, which I think
- 19:13is really exciting, just bringing new levels and
- 19:16dimension. But yeah, but again, I'm happy
- 19:20that I get to do something in the first half and then we've
- 19:22got like kind of that it devolves into something very
- 19:25different later on. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:27Will you be throwing fish at people?
- 19:30You know, it depends on if I can get to the bait and Taco before
- 19:34her. Stall.
- 19:37I I can confirm that yes, yes she will be.
- 19:40I always have boomerang fish for for Lou.
- 19:43I've I've said that for every movie, even if Lou doesn't
- 19:47appear in the movie, I'm going to put him in just for one line,
- 19:50just so we can throw fish at people.
- 19:52OK, and and listen. And I've got even more and now I
- 19:55get to sing. What could be better?
- 19:57Be better? I famously love a prop.
- 20:00I love to toss a prop. I love, I love a prop as well.
- 20:03Love a wig, Love a prop. Look, what I'm getting from
- 20:05this, Hannah, is that if you and I were in high school together,
- 20:07we wouldn't have been allowed the same class.
- 20:11I know, get that. Plus my crippling ADHDII.
- 20:15Really. It would have made things even
- 20:17harder. Give me any distraction and I am
- 20:19off on it. But I found the job where I can
- 20:22be permanently distracted. Just give me, you know,
- 20:25imagining, yeah. You've done well.
- 20:27So am I right in assuming, Hannah, this is a movie that's
- 20:30been a big part of your childhood?
- 20:33Yeah, every year. It's an every year watch.
- 20:36Big part of my childhood. My best friend just did a drag
- 20:39brunch yesterday and it was Muppets Christmas Carol themed
- 20:42and they, they were Marley and Marley and they were Tiny Tim.
- 20:46And for Marley, Marley, they put a mask on one side of their face
- 20:48so they would go Marley and Marley and it was wild.
- 20:52I was always as a kid, I loved Marley and Marley, even though
- 20:56they're crotchety and it was perfect.
- 20:59Yeah, it's. A great, that's a great thing.
- 21:03I'm looking forward to seeing Marley and Marley performed
- 21:05live. Yes, yeah.
- 21:08So who have we got playing the the the Marley Brothers?
- 21:11Man, the Marley Brothers, yeah. So we have Hal Loveland
- 21:14returning and then we have joining him, Annie Savage, who
- 21:19is also from the thrilling Adventure Hour and wonderful,
- 21:22wonderful voices on both of them.
- 21:23So yeah, I'm really excited for we have a, we have a kind of
- 21:27like a smaller band practice tonight and then we have all the
- 21:30singers coming on Thursday and we're going to get everybody in
- 21:33the room and go over, go over Scrooge and go over everything.
- 21:36And it's going to be. I can't wait.
- 21:39As we sort of begin to wrap up, Hannah, I've been asking people
- 21:42about holiday traditions. Have you got any sort of weird
- 21:46and wonderful holiday traditions?
- 21:48Well, my dad's from the Netherlands and my
- 21:50brother-in-law is Swiss. So in Holland on Santa Claus,
- 21:54which I think passed already, that's the 5th of December, you
- 21:58leave your shoes out for Santa Claus to put, you know,
- 22:02chestnuts and candies. And yeah, we, we could, we could
- 22:05all question sort of like the sanitary.
- 22:07There's some questions there, but I choose to think it's like
- 22:10whimsy. And then there's Christmas.
- 22:14For Swiss Christmas, you take a real Christmas tree and you put
- 22:18candles on them. And we did that for a couple
- 22:22years. Uh huh.
- 22:23Until we were all having panic attacks moment to moment, sort
- 22:27of watching, seeing like, oh, the wind blows in an earthquake
- 22:32prone state. We're going to have another
- 22:34forest fire on our hands. So last year we begged my
- 22:37brother-in-law. We said, you have a son now,
- 22:40please retire it. So now we got those fake
- 22:43candles. It's beautiful to look at, but
- 22:45it is, Oh my God, so unsafe. And there's no Safeway to do it.
- 22:49You're near a dried up tree. Yeah, crazy.
- 22:54So. That's, that's, that's great.
- 22:56What I've I've really loved asking people this question
- 22:58during this podcast because we just got a whole myriad of
- 23:01insane things. That's the first one that's
- 23:04being had, the potential for a national disaster.
- 23:08Sorry, that's. Nice.
- 23:10And listen, no, it don't implicate us that we've stopped,
- 23:13OK? Look for the other blizzards
- 23:15that are doing that, yeah. We.
- 23:18We added, I was holding the extinguisher going Steven,
- 23:21Steven, please. Hannah, as you call yourself
- 23:29part Muppet and like, I'm definitely getting that vibe off
- 23:31you the last half an hour, let's say Disney come to you.
- 23:37Say Hannah, we want you to create you a dream Muppet
- 23:41project. What do you think that would be?
- 23:44I mean, I know that they did a recreation of I guess I'm open
- 23:48ending it to to Henson, if that's OK.
- 23:51I would like to play David Bowie.
- 23:53I would like to be the Goblin King.
- 23:55And then maybe we make it the Goblin Queen.
- 23:56I think, I think David Bowie's quite androgynous anyway.
- 24:00I don't think like anything. I mean, look, and maybe it might
- 24:02make that part a little bit weirder with Jennifer Connelly,
- 24:05who's 16 and they're at the ball.
- 24:07I think that one would be really fun and honestly like a live
- 24:10action Miss Piggy. But I know that Colascola's
- 24:13doing that and there is no better person to do that.
- 24:16So as much as I would love to be involved in something like that,
- 24:20I'd love to PA on that. Truly, I just want to be a Cole
- 24:25as Miss Piggy. Nothing could be better, yeah.
- 24:27Have you? Have you got a Miss Piggy
- 24:29impression? Because you do some great voices
- 24:31although. You know, I don't, but my
- 24:32husband is a really good Kermit impression and Will will
- 24:37randomly surprise me that my nephew loses his mind for the
- 24:41Kermit. Surprisingly, I haven't ever
- 24:43tried any Muppets. I that's a good that's a good
- 24:46project for me to kind of dive into next.
- 24:48Yeah. Beautiful.
- 24:49If we talk again, we'll find out.
- 24:50I can't do it, yeah. That's all good, Matt.
- 24:54Can you please remind us a of who we're supporting with this
- 24:58event and also where we can watch it?
- 25:01Absolutely, yes. So we are presenting the Muppet
- 25:04script this Carol on December 20th.
- 25:07That's a Saturday and we will have two showtimes. 2:00 PM
- 25:10matinee is gonna be in person only and there are still tickets
- 25:14available for that at dynastytypewriter.com.
- 25:17We will also have a Late Show at 6:30 PM which will be live
- 25:21streamed. So we still have tickets for the
- 25:23live stream on sale. The in person for that one is
- 25:25sold out, so it's going to be a really, really great show.
- 25:28That's at the Dynasty typewriter here.
- 25:30My favorite place in LA to do live comedy.
- 25:33And yes, we're supporting a wonderful organization called
- 25:36One Simple Wish. This is a foundation that was
- 25:40launched in 2008 as an online giving platform and it was
- 25:45designed to raise awareness and empower everyone who is affected
- 25:49by the foster care system. So it's a really great place
- 25:53where kids who are affected by this are just submitting simple
- 25:57wishes, just little things that that could make, you know, life
- 26:01a little happier, a little better.
- 26:02There is so, so it's a place where your donations go towards
- 26:06these wishes that they have. So for example, Quincy wants a
- 26:10really cool camera for Christmas.
- 26:12And that's it. It, it's, it's just a little
- 26:14simple thing that, you know, people think about, you know, we
- 26:17have to raise money and we have to make sure that it's going
- 26:19towards feeding them and housing them and all of these things
- 26:20which are very, very important. But sometimes the most important
- 26:24thing is something really simple is just getting a cool camera
- 26:27for Christmas. And if we can do that, if we can
- 26:30help out with that in any way, it's, it's a really wonderful
- 26:34thing to do. I'm so happy that we've we've
- 26:36raised, I know I said this in the last time, but we've this
- 26:39year raised over $45,000 for the charities that we've supported
- 26:43and I'm so happy and proud of everyone that's watched for
- 26:47laughs but also just watched to help out.
- 26:50It's been a really, really great year.
- 26:52Yep, you've done very, very well and it's an absolutely worthy
- 26:56cause. Hannah, where can people find
- 26:58you? What have you got to promote?
- 27:00As I said, you are a social media follow I strongly
- 27:02recommend. Thank you so much.
- 27:05You can find me yeah, at Hannah Pilkis on Instagram or TikTok
- 27:09threads. I'm on threads now trying that
- 27:12out and on on Leanne on Netflix. We're about to film season 2, so
- 27:16catch up on season 1. It's 16 episodes, but they're
- 27:19quite short, so you can binge it in like a day and I guarantee
- 27:23it'll make you feel good because Leanne Morgan is just human
- 27:26sunshine. So yeah, it's really.
- 27:29I love it. You've also you're doing
- 27:31something soon, which what is a High School Musical show where
- 27:34you're improvising around it. I did High School Musical in
- 27:38high school. We.
- 27:40Were the the way. We were the we were the very
- 27:42first people in Australia to do it.
- 27:44I played Chad, I learned how to spin a basketball on my finger,
- 27:49so it means a lot to me. I'm we're.
- 27:51In the presence of a legend. I know I'm going to have to, I
- 27:54mean, as far as method as you go, I mean, I'm we're going to
- 27:56have to have a side call for because I have some questions.
- 27:59I am a little spooked. And famously when Paul asked me
- 28:02to go on tour, he said it was because I was a good singer.
- 28:05But I can exclusively only sing extremely low register.
- 28:08So Gabriella is going to have to be really low register This.
- 28:13That's OK. We're it's, it's, it's the 2025
- 28:15version, Yeah. Well, I'm excited to see you and
- 28:20Scriptmas Carol and you and everything you do forever.
- 28:22Hannah, thank you very much. Thank you.
- 28:24Nice, nice meeting you.
