- 0:02Luke Brilliant finally get to do an interview with you where we
- 0:05get 3 points on the road today. You must be well happy with your
- 0:09players today. Yeah, I'm, I'm happy with
- 0:11everybody, I think the staff and the players because one thing I
- 0:14asked for is consistency, you know, otherwise we're doing
- 0:17something wrong. We've come really close,
- 0:19obviously Lemon and home and to get beat last week was a cruel,
- 0:23cruel ending to not a bad performance.
- 0:27Today was quite scrappy in the end but again, first half
- 0:31really, really good so I'm pleased for everybody because
- 0:33they deserve that. Yeah, very good first half and
- 0:36looked like a a certainly didn't look like a team that are at the
- 0:40bottom of the league. Lots of chances we could have
- 0:43got in front sooner than we did. Yeah, no, I think we had five
- 0:47chances in the first half and Theo, the new lads hit the
- 0:51crossbar, Mark followed up and Keep made a good save.
- 0:55A few decision making and and that composure in the box wasn't
- 1:00there but the intensity and the endeavour certainly was and
- 1:04everybody playing to the same game plan certainly works and
- 1:08will work for us. So yeah, we're unlucky not to be
- 1:13one up at half time at least. But to be honest, second-half we
- 1:17knew they'd come out and play a lot better, which they did.
- 1:20They were. They were a lot better at
- 1:21switching the ball and we wrote Rose to that quite well, fought
- 1:25our set pieces, fought off their set pieces really well and then
- 1:29got 3 kicks in and around the box and and obviously made
- 1:31chances with Theo and Mark as well.
- 1:33So happy we got one in the end. So let's let's talk about Theo
- 1:38Williams then a little bit. Only signed last night, just got
- 1:41him in in time to to play today and made a real promising start,
- 1:45didn't he? Very mobile at front I thought.
- 1:47Yeah, no, he's mobile, he's young.
- 1:49He's played this level before at Farsley and obviously got to
- 1:53move to Kings Lynn in the summer.
- 1:54So it was it was one of those decisions where we haven't seen
- 1:59a lot of him. We can only go off bits and
- 2:00bobs. But I thought I'd throw him in.
- 2:01I thought it was a good time. It felt right.
- 2:03Sometimes you have to make those decisions as a managers and, and
- 2:07we we went with Mark because he played so well the other day,
- 2:09but also Theo, you know, another fresh face.
- 2:12And sometimes that can change the psychology of everybody.
- 2:14And I think that that that did because you can't even think a
- 2:17fresh faced, fresh player, you want to impress him as a player.
- 2:20I wanted to impress new players and that's your mentality.
- 2:23So I think it gave everybody a bit of a lift, even even though
- 2:26he hasn't played a lot of football this season.
- 2:28And Theo, a great chance just before half time, turned
- 2:33brilliantly on the edge of the box and hit the bar.
- 2:35Yeah, I mean it was a it was a great bit of play to create that
- 2:39space. It was the only place he could
- 2:40get because there was two players in front.
- 2:42He put whip on it and obviously got it round, but you know, it's
- 2:45just crashed across by like their lad in the second-half
- 2:47with a great strike from like the halfway line.
- 2:50But no, Theo's got that in him. We've seen what he can do.
- 2:52He's obviously fast and he's he's looking to run in behind
- 2:55but also drive with the ball so I'm pleased with him.
- 2:58He's had a really good debut and obviously cramping up a little
- 3:00bit there, which is normal. That was my question.
- 3:02There came off on 61 minutes, Josiah Dyer coming on.
- 3:06That was it. Was it cramp?
- 3:08Yeah, just just hasn't started any games in the league this
- 3:11season. Playing on a free G pitch can do
- 3:13that as well. You know, you see the effects
- 3:17after 60-70 minutes of running. So really professional from him
- 3:20to signal that sort of thing. And we give the trust to all the
- 3:23players with injuries. That's how it's always worked
- 3:25for the last three years. So you know, that is is no
- 3:27different with him that he he has to communicate that.
- 3:30And we've got two really good strikers in Max and Josiah on
- 3:33the bench. So again, that's the first time
- 3:35we've had that in a while, having 4 strikers, you know, so
- 3:39it's nice to have that option. And let's talk about Bailey
- 3:42McCann and the goal then. Superb free kick.
- 3:45Ben Menzer failed on the edge of the box.
- 3:47Quite a few free kicks in and around that area, but he
- 3:51certainly finished that one well, didn't he?
- 3:53Yeah, I think it's good that, you know, it's the Ben Mencer
- 3:55thing because he was brilliant. I mean, defensively he's come
- 3:59into a team that of course don't have possession probably as much
- 4:03as he's used to, but the way he tracks, the way he runs, he's a
- 4:06fit lad. And then on the break going
- 4:08forward without Kane, Felix, we thought we'd struggle in that
- 4:11position, but Ben's really rose to challenges his first time
- 4:14playing this level. But then all, all the credits
- 4:18should go to Bailey Mechanic at the end of the day.
- 4:20I've just said to him and there he's practiced that probably
- 4:22since he was 3-4 years of age. Over and over again I've seen
- 4:26him do it. Our training ground virtually in
- 4:30the pitch black, just practising that free kick, going left,
- 4:33going right and to be in that situation where we need a goal
- 4:37in front of a big crowd and you know, away from home, that's
- 4:41what happens when you practice. So I'm delighted for him and it
- 4:44won't be his, his last one, I'm sure of that.
- 4:46And good performances all over the pitch, like I say today, so
- 4:49perhaps unfair to pick out players, but I really want to
- 4:52mention Elliot Warehouse again. Superb midfield display from him
- 4:56today and you know, close on being my man in the match I
- 4:59think. Close.
- 5:00Who was your man in that show? Well.
- 5:02Bailey maybe for the goal. But oh, OK, yeah, no, I think
- 5:04that I concur with that. I think that Elliot has been
- 5:08really good the last few games. You know, he's strong, he's
- 5:11experienced, he listens, his enthusiasm in and around the
- 5:15change room is exactly what you'd expect from a 30 year old.
- 5:18And I think he's going to get on the end of crosses and and get
- 5:22his goals. But he knows his job in this
- 5:23team already. I think it's brilliant for all
- 5:26the midfielders because we've got two really young midfielders
- 5:29in Charlie and Sam Brown and Sam Mcclintock there who's got a bit
- 5:33more experience. But he's certainly been strong
- 5:35for us since he's come in in on loan.
- 5:37So I'm pleased for him to get the result because you know,
- 5:39sometimes when you play well you don't and and those performances
- 5:42get missed. But yeah, he he was fantastic
- 5:45today. And just finally last 10 minutes
- 5:49was a little bit frantic, they put a lot of pressure on but
- 5:52defence really, really stood up well, especially crooked.
- 5:55Some brilliant punches from inside his own 6 yard box at the
- 5:57end there. Yeah, Crooked.
- 5:59He's you know, he's been superb ever since we've come in.
- 6:02He's had a rocky start this season.
- 6:03He knows that. But he should have had a clean
- 6:06sheet the last game. That should have been his third
- 6:08today. But under that pressure in front
- 6:10of this crowd, Gashi as well, they're they're warriors.
- 6:13And I think with Ryan Fryer and his experience, you know, I'll
- 6:18hope Ashton goes on to have that career that them two have
- 6:20because Ashton didn't kick a ball last year.
- 6:22He was injured. So although Gashi, Crookie, Ryan
- 6:25get a lot of applaud at some, I'm delighted for Ashton Fox
- 6:27because he's worked so hard to get back fit.
- 6:30He's done his rehab from such a bad injury last year and now
- 6:34he's back in the team getting clean sheets, which is great.
- 6:36Brilliant. Well, congratulations Luke.
- 6:38Brilliant performance by the team today and let's hope we've
- 6:41turned the corner. Thank you very much.
- 6:43Cheers.
