  - what to do when God does something new.

  - Scripture text comes from Isaiah forty three nineteen

  - and says, see, I am doing a new

  - thing. Now it springs up. Do you not

  - receive it?

  - Well, you know, the problem is that sometimes

  - God answers our prayers differently
• 0:48
  - than we expected.
• 0:50
  - We prayed for change, but didn't expect this
• 0:54
  - change.
• 0:55
  - We prayed for opportunity,
• 0:58
  - but it came through an unfamiliar door.

  - We prayed for growth,
• 1:03
  - but it required leaving something comfortable.

  - God's new thing doesn't always arrive in familiar
• 1:11
  - packaging.
• 1:13
  - And to

  - enhance things, he is always changing and yet
• 1:19
  - still the same.

  - And we struggle because expectations
• 1:24
  - can make us miss what God is doing.

  - We are looking in one direction while sometimes
• 1:31
  - something is beginning somewhere else.

  - Well, the prophet Isaiah asked,

  - do you not perceive it?

  - That means recognizing what God is doing requires
• 1:42
  - attention.
• 1:45
  - And what prayer does is it helps us

  - make room.
• 1:50
  - It keeps our hearts open.

  - rather than telling God exactly what the new
• 1:56
  - thing must look like,

  - We can ask him to help us recognize

  - his work even when it looks different from

  - what we expected.

  - So stay grounded in scripture,

  - use discernment through the Holy Spirit,

  - and remain open to God leading differently

  - than you imagined.

  - That being said, let's go to the throne.

  - Abba, give us eyes to recognize what you're

  - doing.

  - Keep our expectations

  - from limiting our ability to see your work.

  - Give us discernment,

  - wisdom,

  - and an open heart for wherever

  - you are leading.
