- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from Midtown Manhattan, here comes the Mark Simone Show on.
- 0:07Speaker 2: 710WOR.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hey, it's Wednesday already. Well, it's practically Labor Day weekend.
- 0:15Speaker 3: We're on the second day of September. This just breaking.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Tiger Woods, we heard he was going into court with
- 0:22Speaker 3: a plea deal on that DUI stuff. Well, he came back.
- 0:27Speaker 3: He was going to trial. Supposedly, a plea deal was set. Well,
- 0:30Speaker 3: It just happened. The court just ruled Tiger Woods guilty,
- 0:35Speaker 3: but all he'll get is five years of a suspended license.
- 0:39Speaker 3: He will lose his driver's license for five years. That's
- 0:43Speaker 3: the deal. His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, that's the ex-wife of
- 0:48Speaker 3: Don Jr., standing by him at the trial. It's a
- 0:53Speaker 3: good thing that he loses his license. He can certainly
- 0:56Speaker 3: afford to have a driver, and this is not the
- 0:58Speaker 3: first accident. This guy, he and Billy Joel, two guys
- 1:03Speaker 3: that should not be driving anywhere, a number of accidents, incidents.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So he will not be able to, he will not
- 1:11Speaker 3: have a license for five years. He was pulled over,
- 1:13Speaker 3: swerving all over the place, DUI. He told the officer
- 1:18Speaker 3: who pulled.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Him over, he.
- 1:20Speaker 3: First didn't admit to being drunk or on drugs. He
- 1:24Speaker 3: said he was looking down at his phone. And he
- 1:27Speaker 3: was changing the radio station. That's why that happened. You know,
- 1:32Speaker 3: when the vehicle is overturned and they're trying to pull
- 1:37Speaker 3: you out of it, you can't claim, well, people change
- 1:41Speaker 3: the radio station all the time. Not everybody flips over
- 1:44Speaker 3: their car doing it. So obviously that wasn't it. That
- 1:47Speaker 3: was he trying to blame some talk show host who
- 1:49Speaker 3: got a little boring. So he had to change the
- 1:51Speaker 3: radio station. And that's what caused all this. Well, He
- 1:56Speaker 3: took a breathalyzer at the scene, and it wasn't good.
- 2:02Speaker 3: They took him in. He refused a urine test. He
- 2:05Speaker 3: refused all kinds of stuff, but no license for five years.
- 2:09Speaker 3: That's probably the best solution for everybody here. Make it
- 2:14Speaker 3: a lot safer to be driving around in Florida. Hey,
- 2:17Speaker 3: this awful Times Square stabbing, this crazy nut of a woman,
- 2:21Speaker 3: and this goes to show you What happens when you
- 2:25Speaker 3: decide to just let all the mental patients out and
- 2:28Speaker 3: not institutionalize them? It also shows what happens when you
- 2:32Speaker 3: put them on those psychotropic drugs. It says right in
- 2:36Speaker 3: the side effects, may cause homicidal behavior, maniacal behavior. And
- 2:41Speaker 3: this is what happens when a judge, you know, the Cuomo, Mamdani,
- 2:47Speaker 3: no bail, no jail, let everybody loose. When this kind
- 2:50Speaker 3: of stuff happens, this is a woman who had a
- 2:52Speaker 3: number of incidents before. And every time was put back
- 2:56Speaker 3: on the street. She had two knives. She was in
- 3:00Speaker 3: her online stuff, her Twitter. In recent months, she was
- 3:04Speaker 3: talking about stabbing people for no reason online, posting it.
- 3:09Speaker 3: But she wanted to just go out and stab people
- 3:11Speaker 3: for no reason. So you've probably seen the video. It's
- 3:15Speaker 3: just horrible to watch. It's a bunch of cops trying
- 3:17Speaker 3: to stop this crazy woman with two knives and he's
- 3:23Speaker 3: spinning the knives around with her arms just spinning around
- 3:25Speaker 3: like windmills trying to cut somebody. They tried to taser
- 3:30Speaker 3: her at first. Now, it turns out, a lot of
- 3:34Speaker 3: people may not realize this, if you're fat, if you've
- 3:37Speaker 3: got a lot of body fat, the taser doesn't really
- 3:39Speaker 3: do much. The fatter you are, the less effective the
- 3:43Speaker 3: taser is. So they couldn't make a direct hit. You've
- 3:46Speaker 3: got to hit the muscles. The taser has to hit
- 3:48Speaker 3: your muscles, and that's what does it. But if you're
- 3:50Speaker 3: really fat, You got layers of protection. So they did
- 3:55Speaker 3: hit her with a couple of tasers. One, uh, she
- 3:57Speaker 3: was carrying her purse around and one hit the purse.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So that killed that one. And the other ones, they
- 4:02Speaker 3: just couldn't hit the muscles. They just kept hitting fat, uh,
- 4:06Speaker 3: taser experts. So that's a big problem that people don't
- 4:08Speaker 3: realize if you're really fat, a taser is not going
- 4:11Speaker 3: to do much to you. Uh, This is a witness
- 4:15Speaker 3: that was watching this whole thing.
- 4:19Speaker 1: There were so many police. Why didn't they grab her
- 4:21Speaker 1: by the arm?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, she had mental problems.
- 4:26Speaker 1: There were no signs this would have happened.
- 4:29Speaker 3: This was all of a sudden because she's never been violent.
- 4:34Speaker 3: But it was just a horrible situation. So it went
- 4:37Speaker 3: on for about four minutes, this woman confronting the police,
- 4:39Speaker 3: trying to lunge at them with a knife. They tried
- 4:42Speaker 3: the tasers. Finally, they had Had to shoot her and
- 4:46Speaker 3: kill her. But horrible situation. But isolated, I mean, there's
- 4:52Speaker 3: a lot of cases, a lot of crimes. And every
- 4:55Speaker 3: so often one just catches people's interest and it becomes
- 4:59Speaker 3: just front page news for days. And we've had stuff
- 5:02Speaker 3: like this before. Overall, we have a lot of listeners
- 5:05Speaker 3: around the country who all think New York is just violence, crazy.
- 5:09Speaker 3: It looks like the movie Death Wish. No, it's really
- 5:12Speaker 3: not like that. You can walk all over Manhattan. It
- 5:15Speaker 3: looks like it always looked. It's just fine. Subway crimes
- 5:18Speaker 3: up a little, robberies up a little, rapes up a little.
- 5:21Speaker 3: But most of Manhattan, most of New York is pretty
- 5:25Speaker 3: safe right now, despite that crazy mom, Donnie, who's driving
- 5:29Speaker 3: everybody nuts. Crazy Kathy Hochul, who's getting a lot of
- 5:35Speaker 3: flack for her hijab. Hijab Hochul. She was going to
- 5:39Speaker 3: speak at a Muslim... and she put on what was
- 5:43Speaker 3: supposed to be a hijab. It wasn't really, if you
- 5:45Speaker 3: look at it. It's supposed to cover your hair and
- 5:47Speaker 3: your neck. It was a big black scarf tied to
- 5:51Speaker 3: look like a hijab. I guess she's trying to be respectful,
- 5:54Speaker 3: but it looked ridiculous. It looked like stupid pandering for Hochul.
- 6:01Speaker 3: You know, one thing about the left that embraces the
- 6:04Speaker 3: Muslim world, it's not very good to women. Women have
- 6:08Speaker 3: to cover up everything. Women are.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Not allowed to express themselves freely. So Hochul joining in
- 6:15Speaker 3: on that? I don't know. It's not a good idea.
- 6:17Speaker 3: The hijab stuff, the video, you're going to see that
- 6:20Speaker 3: in a lot of campaign commercials later. Hey, good for
- 6:24Speaker 3: Homeland Security, ICE. They came in and they got a
- 6:28Speaker 3: couple thousand very bad illegals, criminals off the streets of
- 6:33Speaker 3: New York. That's a great thing. Mark Wayne Mullen, Homeland
- 6:37Speaker 3: Security Secretary, announcing they've arrested and gotten They'll deport them
- 6:43Speaker 3: a couple thousand. That's a couple thousand criminals out of
- 6:47Speaker 3: New York, thanks to Homeland Security.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Over the last 30 days, Operation Rotten Apple has taken
- 6:54Speaker 4: over 2,100 criminals off our streets. That's the worst of
- 7:02Speaker 4: the worst.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Criminals, rapists, robbers, gang members. Gone. Great news.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Operation Rotten Apple... was an operation we decided to take
- 7:14Speaker 4: on because you have a very liberal slash socialist mayor
- 7:21Speaker 4: here in New York City that instead of working with
- 7:27Speaker 4: law enforcement, tries to cut NYPD's budget by $ 22 million
- 7:33Speaker 4: and refuses to work with federal law enforcement. You have
- 7:37Speaker 4: a governor that refuses to work with us.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Can you imagine that? Imagine if you went into a
- 7:45Speaker 3: coma in the Bill Clinton era and woke up now
- 7:47Speaker 3: and found out that Democrats are trying to defund the police.
- 7:52Speaker 3: They refuse to cooperate with law enforcement. If there's dangerous
- 7:55Speaker 3: illegal criminals walking around, they want them to have sanctuary.
- 7:59Speaker 3: They refuse to do anything about it.
- 8:01Speaker 4: These are individuals that we took off the streets of
- 8:03Speaker 4: New York to protect the people here because you have
- 8:06Speaker 4: a mayor that refuses to work and actually, as I
- 8:09Speaker 4: said earlier, is trying to cut the budget NYPD budget.
- 8:12Speaker 4: by $ 22 million. He's extremely out of touch with what
- 8:19Speaker 4: the American people want and what public safety actually looks like.
- 8:23Speaker 3: So if somebody, a federal agency, came in and got
- 8:27Speaker 3: 2,100 criminals off your street, wouldn't you send them a
- 8:32Speaker 3: thank you note or something? Not Kathy Hochul, not Mom Donnie.
- 8:35Speaker 3: They're fuming. They're furious.
- 8:37Speaker 1: The Department of Homeland Security.
- 8:39Speaker 2: The agency created in response.
- 8:41Speaker 4: To 9-11 is withholding 40% of New York State's counterterrorism funding.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We are talking about the money needed to fully fund
- 8:50Speaker 1: 12 bomb squads across New York. We are talking about
- 8:54Speaker 1: the money needed to ensure that in the event of
- 8:57Speaker 1: a catastrophic attack, the FDNY can communicate internally and respond effectively.
- 9:02Speaker 3: They're not really withholding it. They're asking you to cooperate.
- 9:07Speaker 3: With law enforcement, if you refuse to cooperate with them,
- 9:09Speaker 3: you certainly can't take their money. You want their money? Cooperate.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Follow the rules if you want the money. And I'm
- 9:18Speaker 3: sure if Mamdani got this money, he'd put it right
- 9:21Speaker 3: into bomb squads, not some crazy, crazy stuff. It's just
- 9:27Speaker 3: an absolute mess, but good for Homeland Security. They want
- 9:31Speaker 3: to do this in Chicago, by the way. Chicago, crime
- 9:35Speaker 3: is out of control. You have 40 or 50 shootings
- 9:37Speaker 3: every weekend. Not every year, every weekend, 40 or 50
- 9:43Speaker 3: shootings in Chicago. So the federal government is offering to
- 9:47Speaker 3: come in and clean up the streets, just like they
- 9:49Speaker 3: did in Washington, D.C. Send in the FBI, Homeland Security,
- 9:54Speaker 3: National Guard, whatever you need. Washington, D.C., violent, dangerous city.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Now it's safe. You can walk around at night. Everybody's
- 10:01Speaker 3: going out for the first time in a million years.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Restaurants are busy for the first time in years. They've
- 10:07Speaker 3: offered to do it for Chicago. Crazy Governor Pritzker, that's
- 10:10Speaker 3: a big, fat, Ralph Crandon-looking governor, refusing the help. Can
- 10:14Speaker 3: you imagine that?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Unbelievable. So, hey, they have this G20 summit, which is
- 10:23Speaker 3: Scott Besson is our treasury secretary, our top economic officials.
- 10:28Speaker 3: They have one of those in every country. So the
- 10:31Speaker 3: top 20 countries, it's actually about 25, but they still
- 10:34Speaker 3: call it the G20, all meet. Besson speaks to all
- 10:38Speaker 3: of them. It's probably a huge waste of time. I
- 10:43Speaker 3: don't know what the hell they actually accomplish at this thing.
- 10:46Speaker 3: But Besson talked about a lot of stuff, including China.
- 10:48Speaker 2: We've had very quiet conversations with Russia and China. And
- 10:52Speaker 2: I think we can move that discussion forward. As I
- 10:55Speaker 2: said with China on Iran, we have more in common
- 10:58Speaker 2: than we have differences. China agrees Iran cannot have a
- 11:01Speaker 2: nuclear weapon. China agrees that there has to be free
- 11:05Speaker 2: maritime trade in the Strait of Hormuz. Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 3: And we've got an agreement with China. It's about as
- 11:15Speaker 3: good as an agreement with Iran. It never really holds up.
- 11:17Speaker 3: What about Canada?
- 11:18Speaker 2: We discussed AI. We discussed global imbalances where the Canadians
- 11:24Speaker 2: have been very strong.
- 11:26Speaker 3: And we discussed.
- 11:28Speaker 2: How do we put the trade situation back together. And
- 11:31Speaker 2: I think that's going to have to be done at
- 11:33Speaker 2: the leader's level.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Can you imagine discussing AI with Canada? Canada? They're
- 11:38Speaker 3: still using like Windows 3 up there. They still got
- 11:42Speaker 3: AOL chat rooms up there in Canada. That's the thing.
- 11:49Speaker 3: We don't really need Canada for anything. They need us
- 11:52Speaker 3: for everything. So I don't really know what they're thinking
- 11:56Speaker 3: up there, how they're going to win this battle. But, hey,
- 11:59Speaker 3: you got the midterms coming up. It was a good
- 12:01Speaker 3: sign in Massachusetts last night. They had their primary. And
- 12:06Speaker 3: in the primary in Massachusetts... Ed Markey won. Now, he's
- 12:11Speaker 3: a Democrat. He beat the up-and-coming crazy lunatic that everybody hates.
- 12:16Speaker 3: So the old senior guy won in Massachusetts. The old-fashioned Democrat,
- 12:24Speaker 3: that's a good sign. Now, Chuck Schumer might be encouraged
- 12:27Speaker 3: by that, but don't, because Ed Markey, as bad as
- 12:30Speaker 3: he is, an old fossil, he's a well-liked, loved Massachusetts guy.
- 12:36Speaker 3: And a soft-spoken, nice Massachusetts, sort of an old-timer. But
- 12:41Speaker 3: Schumer's not liked in New York. Nobody likes him. He's
- 12:44Speaker 3: a slimy, slimy, cheap politician. And Republicans, obviously, not going
- 12:51Speaker 3: to vote for him. And Democrats hate him now. So
- 12:53Speaker 3: everybody hates him. Schumer's got absolutely no shot at all. Now, traditionally,
- 12:59Speaker 3: the president, when you get elected, you lose the midterms
- 13:02Speaker 3: two years in. It's tradition. Always happens. One or two exceptions,
- 13:06Speaker 3: but 98% of the time you lose the midterm. So
- 13:09Speaker 3: it'd be normal for the president to lose it. But
- 13:13Speaker 3: this is Donald Trump. He's got two years left, year
- 13:16Speaker 3: and a half, two and a half. He's really concerned
- 13:19Speaker 3: about legacy, really concerned. So this would be a big
- 13:22Speaker 3: part of his legacy, defying the odds on this, winning
- 13:26Speaker 3: these midterms. So you'll see him do something in the last,
- 13:30Speaker 3: it's really going to heat up in the next few weeks.
- 13:33Speaker 3: It's September, October. That's where the campaign begins. And nobody
- 13:37Speaker 3: is better at pulling a rabbit out of his hat
- 13:39Speaker 3: than Donald Trump. So I think you'll see him pull
- 13:41Speaker 3: it off. Even the CNN pollster here.
- 13:44Speaker 5: In fact, the polls underestimate the Republicans. It's 53 Republican
- 13:49Speaker 5: Senate seats compared to 47 Republican seats. Maine, that stays red.
- 13:54Speaker 5: How about a flip in Michigan where Abdul-Assad, very neck
- 13:58Speaker 5: and neck in the polls with Mike Rogers. Ohio stays red.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Iowa stays red. Alaska stays red.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Now, I will note.
- 14:07Speaker 5: I will note that even in this scenario, right, you
- 14:10Speaker 5: still get a situation where North Carolina stays blue and
- 14:15Speaker 5: Georgia stays blue. But Texas goes red. See you later.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Ken Paxton gets elected to the United States Senate. No
- 14:22Speaker 5: James Tallarico.
- 14:23Speaker 3: It's amazing this guy still works there. He's the CNN pollster,
- 14:26Speaker 3: but he's always very honest and fair. He doesn't take
- 14:30Speaker 3: those fake polls seriously, but he still works at CNN somehow. Hey,
- 14:34Speaker 3: these data centers have everybody terrified. Data centers, you know,
- 14:39Speaker 3: it's just a big building and it makes a lot
- 14:42Speaker 3: of noise. It's just a noisy building is all it
- 14:44Speaker 3: basically is. But people are terrified of these data centers.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You know, they see them coming to way out there somewhere.
- 14:51Speaker 3: And then I don't know if you know this. Nobody's
- 14:54Speaker 3: ever mentioned this. We already have data centers in New York.
- 14:59Speaker 3: We have a couple in New York City. There are
- 15:01Speaker 3: data centers here. Nobody ever points that out. In the
- 15:05Speaker 3: New York City tri-state area, there are 72 data centers.
- 15:09Speaker 3: There's a few of them right here in New York.
- 15:11Speaker 3: They're not the biggest data centers, but they're data centers.
- 15:14Speaker 3: There's a bunch of them in lower Manhattan. They're in
- 15:17Speaker 3: New Jersey, right over there, Jersey City, Angle, that area.
- 15:22Speaker 3: There's data centers around there. We got a bunch of
- 15:25Speaker 3: them around the tri-state area, 72 of them. And they've
- 15:30Speaker 3: been there for years, so I don't think people realize this.
- 15:33Speaker 3: So these data centers, not as scary. As they make
- 15:36Speaker 3: them out to be. We'll get back to Canada. We've
- 15:40Speaker 3: got a lot of stuff to get to. And we've
- 15:44Speaker 3: got more on crazy Kathy Hochul. I think she's in trouble.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I think she's going to have a bad couple of
- 15:50Speaker 3: months coming up. We'll get to that ridiculous U.S. Open
- 15:53Speaker 3: and a whole lot more. Mark Simone here. 9 to noon.
- 15:57Speaker 3: It's three hours every day now. 9 to noon on 710WOR.
