- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes it all.
- 0:11Starts. Right now.
- 0:16Welcome back to the three O take presented by C Kick.
- 0:18This is episode 447. I'll be your host, Kyle Corn,
- 0:22and I'm here with my Co host Nate Reyes.
- 0:30Nate. Happy birthday USA, let's go,
- 0:36let's get it. Props to you if you're here
- 0:39before the birthday and you're hanging out with us live in the
- 0:42chit chat. You could make the argument
- 0:45you're here after the birthday. Did you know there is some
- 0:52controversy surrounding when the Declaration of Independence was
- 0:58actually signed? Did you know this?
- 1:02It's just like a leap year thing.
- 1:03What do you mean? No, it's like a they, they
- 1:08think, hold on, I I wanna, I wanna pull up what I read just
- 1:12to make sure I'm not just talking out of my butt here.
- 1:17OK, hold on. Apparently, where is it?
- 1:31Where is it? Apparently it was July 2nd.
- 1:36It was believed. Have you heard you haven't heard
- 1:40about this? No, I don't like it.
- 1:48Let's say it was believed that rather not on July 4th, but
- 1:56rather on July 2nd, the resolution of independence was
- 1:59approved in a closed session of Congress.
- 2:01So you're. Saying it just wasn't notarized
- 2:06until the 4th. There's question about when when
- 2:12certain individual signed it, thus putting July 4th into
- 2:17question. I didn't realize that, like, a
- 2:21lot of those dudes were like 20. Did you know that there's like a
- 2:27lot of founding fathers that were like 20/21/22, like, all
- 2:32right, it's fair. You see the all the pictures of
- 2:36them? They're like, they look 80.
- 2:38Yeah. But in reality, they're still,
- 2:40like, linked up with their pediatricians.
- 2:43They're like had a quick doctor's visit and then they had
- 2:45to go sign the Declaration of Independence.
- 2:47Crazy. Still on, Still on Mom and Dad's
- 2:49insurance, you know. Crazy man.
- 2:51Like these are the guys that set it in a motion still living in
- 2:56the basement. Unreal.
- 2:59It's unreal. So either way, happy birthday, I
- 3:02guess. I don't know.
- 3:05Apparently not. Trivia How old is America this
- 3:07year? Math. 248.
- 3:14You cut out, what'd you say? 240. 8248 That's good math.
- 3:21It's not good math, I just happened to see it so I was in
- 3:23two. Years, two years to the Big 25O.
- 3:27How about it? I like that.
- 3:30We're gonna have to do something for that one, I think.
- 3:32I think I'm just gonna have to like, blow, blow something up,
- 3:35you know? What do you think?
- 3:39Let me know what you decide on. All right, let's keep it legal.
- 3:44Major League Baseball All Star game starters have been named.
- 3:50Look, I don't, I don't want to get into the the whole snubs
- 3:56conversation because I feel like that's a, a a tired 'cause it's.
- 4:02Of course, the All Star game of tired 'cause in general.
- 4:05You're gonna, you're gonna, you're gonna have snubs with the
- 4:09way that the voting is set up. But you know, I, I had a thought
- 4:12today. I had a thought today.
- 4:15It a realization. There's no sense in me fighting
- 4:21it anymore. Like we're just going to have to
- 4:23talk about it as it is because there's nothing that you and I
- 4:27can do to reverse the nature of the way that the All Star game
- 4:31is handled, the way it's treated, the way it's presented,
- 4:34the way it's voted on. So we're going to just sit here.
- 4:36We're just going to talk about it.
- 4:40We're just going to talk about it.
- 4:44The starters, you want to just run through them here real
- 4:47quick. I was I was talking to you
- 4:49before we hopped on and we didn't do half bed with our
- 4:53picks. Yeah, I think so too.
- 4:56I mean, granted we had like a 5050 shot for majority of them,
- 5:00but was there anything that really caught you off guard?
- 5:05Anything that surprised you? How about?
- 5:12I just don't get how he's how it's eligible.
- 5:14Like there's got to be some eligibility requirements.
- 5:19Can we can we just take a minute to be thankful that Nick
- 5:24Castianos didn't get in? Yeah, that's true.
- 5:27Nothing against Nick Castianos, but we just need to acknowledge
- 5:30that that was a huge mistake. I'm sorry.
- 5:34Wait a minute. Keep you.
- 5:35Keep going. I was just going to say forget.
- 5:39Forget fandom, I understand that the Philly fans love their love
- 5:42their boys, but let's. Sometimes you can admit.
- 5:47You can admit you know. Let's all come together and just
- 5:51realize that having Nick Castellanos on the ballot this
- 5:53year was just a big mistake. So shout out Yelich though.
- 5:58I'm big proud, big proud of Christian Yelich.
- 6:00That's what I was going to say. I'm assuming taking that third
- 6:04spot. I didn't see what the vote
- 6:05totals were, but I figured Profar and Tatis probably had
- 6:10the top two spots. And then the third was 'cause I
- 6:13think even when we were going through our our picks, the third
- 6:17outfield spot for the National League was the one we were kind
- 6:20of teetering back and forth on. But but yeah, the the the Trey
- 6:25Turner thing it why I mean. It's cool.
- 6:34Like he's, he's dope, he's he's really good.
- 6:42But come on, you know, it's one thing like I, I like Bryce
- 6:50Harper obviously deserves to be on it.
- 6:51That's it's There's an argument of like playing enough games,
- 6:55doing well enough and being eligible, but not being healthy
- 7:00enough to play. But still getting the honour.
- 7:03But still getting the honour. That's OK, I'll allow that.
- 7:08I don't like when you've played like 12 games and you're just a
- 7:16popular guy. So I don't know.
- 7:23NL shortstops. I mean, what?
- 7:24What else are we talking here? Ellie, Ellie.
- 7:28Daily Cruise. 46 games, by the way, same thing.
- 7:33Legitimately half of the games that we've played this one.
- 7:36Like that's not cool, man. Almost on the nose.
- 7:39Stuff's got to change with the voting system, stuff's got to
- 7:43change a lot around the All Star game.
- 7:46The jerseys are ass. Oh, no, no, don't, don't get
- 7:50ahead here. We we got, we got to talk about
- 7:52that. The game sucks.
- 7:57Well, hey, look. We still had plans to go next
- 8:00year, so like Elena, I thought we had talked about this.
- 8:08Have we not talked about? Maybe I just made-up these plans
- 8:10in my head? I'd go.
- 8:13I'd do it. I'll start again next year
- 8:17because we're not making a trip this year, it doesn't seem,
- 8:20unless there's some crazy postseason scenario that pops up
- 8:23down the stretch and we got to call an audible.
- 8:25But as of right now, no plans for games.
- 8:28So we're going to double down next year, hopefully assuming
- 8:32all things work out and head to Atlanta for the All Star game.
- 8:35But yeah, let's not get, let's not get cared.
- 8:38For this changes by then. Well, that's next year.
- 8:44Yeah. I mean, I I don't foresee any
- 8:46changes taking place that soon. Some just some just a little
- 8:51something a little something something.
- 8:54There's a lot of comments, by the way, that I'm I'm kind of
- 8:57here for was to make the All Star game worth something again.
- 9:04Yeah, I don't I don't know if home field advantage of the
- 9:07World Series is appropriate. I don't know what would be
- 9:16appropriate. I do have, I do have 11 gripe
- 9:21and it's not, it's not just griping for griping sake.
- 9:24It's, it's, I think a legitimate gripe, but can we just call a
- 9:29spade a spade? Can we?
- 9:31And I, this isn't directed at Shohei because I know Shohei was
- 9:33the one in the news. And we'll, we'll touch on this
- 9:37about saying that he's, he's protecting his health, he's
- 9:40worried about making the postseason, so on and so forth.
- 9:43Generally speaking, though not directed at Shohei, but
- 9:47generally speaking, can we just again, call a spade a spade and
- 9:54recognize that like these guys don't, they're not, they're not
- 9:58opting out of participating in the All Star game or the Home
- 10:02Run Derby because they're trying to like they're trying to
- 10:05protect their health. They're trying to protect
- 10:07themselves and protect their money and protect future
- 10:11opportunity for earning said money.
- 10:14They're like, spare me the whole like we're trying to make, OK,
- 10:18maybe it wasn't so much about the health.
- 10:19It was more like it's more the the response surrounding well,
- 10:25I'm just trying to focus and help my team make it to the
- 10:27post. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:29No, you're not I. Get what you're saying?
- 10:31The health, sorry, I misspoke. It's less about the health.
- 10:34I I I'm sure that's valid. Especially good day off, You
- 10:37know, yeah, at this point a a few days offer is probably much,
- 10:41much needed. But the whole like just trying
- 10:43to help my team make the post stop.
- 10:46Yeah, there's way too much money involved in these contracts now
- 10:49that you're trying to you're trying to look out for for you
- 10:52and yours, which is fine. I get it.
- 10:54That's a lot of money. I'd probably consider doing the
- 10:56same thing. But like, let's just let's be a
- 11:00little more forthcoming about that.
- 11:01That's all I got to say. I think it is the recognition of
- 11:10some of these superstars, especially home run hitters that
- 11:13are just like, maybe they've been in the Derby before, maybe
- 11:17they've seen what it does to them afterwards and that's what
- 11:23they're trying to say. Like my team needs me to be
- 11:27fully healthy and I didn't feel great after or my swing changed
- 11:33after. Therefore it hurts my team.
- 11:39You know what I'm saying? I, I kind of see what they're
- 11:42saying. It's a little bit of a leap, I
- 11:44guess. I don't know, whatever.
- 11:46I. Is that is that super
- 11:51pessimistic of me? No, I'm.
- 11:54Not or is there like is there some validity there?
- 11:57I mean, tell me if there tell me if I'm crazy because I, it just
- 12:00seems that way because I, I feel like.
- 12:03I think the problem is is that you reach A level of stardom to
- 12:06where like, it doesn't really add anything.
- 12:10There's no added value. There's no, the reward does not
- 12:14outweigh the risk when you reach that level of stardom.
- 12:18That's what I'm trying to get for certain guys like like for
- 12:22Gunner, obviously breaking onto the scene, obviously doing
- 12:27incredibly this year, but like there's still this level of like
- 12:32if I go pop off and do something that no one's seen before during
- 12:36this, maybe there's additional endorsements that are in come my
- 12:40way. We talk about like Ohtani Judge,
- 12:43like guys that are like, I've already done this, I've won
- 12:46this. I have every endorsement I can
- 12:48think of. I'm just going to take the day
- 12:51off. I get it.
- 12:54But just come out and say that. Just be just be clear about it.
- 13:01Don't tell me that the Home Run Derby's going to hurt your your
- 13:05recovering elbow more than any other game.
- 13:09Just be honest and say I want a day off.
- 13:12I'm tired. Yeah, in a day and age where
- 13:15we're all about being authentic and living your truth and living
- 13:18and being your true self, like, OK, let's live it out.
- 13:23Just be straight up with us. Don't feed us a line.
- 13:26Just tell us like, hey, this is what this is.
- 13:28This is the deal. And I would have a lot more
- 13:30respect for you if you just came out and was like, yeah, I got
- 13:33this is a contract here for me or this is a, you know, a
- 13:38situation where I can really, like you said, with whether it's
- 13:41endorsements or or brand opportunities maybe in the
- 13:44offseason or down the road. Like, I'm not trying to put
- 13:48myself in a situation where I want to mess that up.
- 13:51Just tell us that, That's all. Has anyone else committed to the
- 13:55Home Run Derby by the way? I haven't seen anything.
- 13:59I've only seen Gunner. I know.
- 14:02It's it's it's real late and I feel like we talk about this
- 14:07every year, but like when do you hit the panic button?
- 14:10If you're Major League Baseball, there has to be some sort of
- 14:15under the table like, hey, look, you may have not had any plans
- 14:19in here or plans here to sign up for the Home Run Derby.
- 14:23But how's another, I don't know, five mil sound just to just to
- 14:29show up because we need got. We need slots filled.
- 14:32We need names. I mean, because it's it's July
- 14:363rd, less than less than two weeks do.
- 14:42You remember when Brandon Hinge did it?
- 14:47Remember him? We talk about this every year,
- 14:49right? And he just flopped, didn't he?
- 14:51He. Went goose egg.
- 14:53Yeah, he did any. Yeah, that's what I'm saying of
- 14:56like, when do we get to that level of desperation where
- 15:00they're just like just searching?
- 15:05All right. No looking around.
- 15:07No ricochets intended, but who would like 20?
- 15:10Who would a Brandon Inge type be in 2024?
- 15:14That Major League Baseball just looks around quickly and.
- 15:16Grabs no, no intentional ricochets, but also kind of
- 15:26intentional. Yeah, like without being
- 15:28disrespectful, like. Like Jose Trevino or something?
- 15:33Justin Turner grabs Justin Turner.
- 15:35Hey, we know you're like 42, but we got to, we got to, we got to
- 15:39fill a slot. Here, yeah, it's pretty rough.
- 15:42Just go get IKF real fast. That's pretty.
- 15:47That's pretty. That's pretty in line right
- 15:49there. Brandon, Ange and IKF, that's
- 15:51fair. I think they're right there.
- 15:54And let's be honest, IKF is got to be immune to ricochets at
- 15:57this point. That's fair.
- 15:59Well, I mean, look, look in. It's oh, hold on.
- 16:04We got a trivia question from the sister-in-law.
- 16:09It's her weekly trivia question. Only New York Yankee ever to hit
- 16:13four home runs in a single game. This is your wheelhouse.
- 16:21Four in a single game. No hints or anything of when.
- 16:26No, this is trivia. You have you?
- 16:28You've been to trivia, haven't you?
- 16:29No hints in trivia. Sometimes there's like a
- 16:33secondary question I don't know. Only New York Yankee ever to hit
- 16:37four home runs in a single game. It wasn't Reggie, was it?
- 16:41I. Think it I think it would be a
- 16:44safe guess. I don't have no idea.
- 16:53I have no idea. She didn't give me a hints, no,
- 16:58no. Should we just cheat?
- 17:03No. I'll cheat, I'm not in the
- 17:05trivia. I'm not in the trivia either,
- 17:09she more so just sends them because she wants to see if I
- 17:11can get them. Oh, I found it.
- 17:21Is it Reggie Jackson? No.
- 17:24Who is it? The Lou Lou Gehrig Really 1932?
- 17:31Wow. I'm just going to let her know
- 17:35we had to look it up. Four for 6/6 RBIs, 20 to 13
- 17:43victory over the Philadelphia A's, June 3rd, 1932.
- 17:52Sorry, my 100 year old Yankee trivia isn't little.
- 17:56Dusty. Quite tapped in.
- 17:59Little dusty. Well, going back to the it's.
- 18:03My rapper name. Lil Dusty, Oh man, that's a
- 18:09yeah. That's a great rapper name,
- 18:10great trivia name. Lil Dusty.
- 18:13Going back to the the Home Run Derby participants, as I
- 18:17mentioned, I think only Gunner we know for sure is in.
- 18:23I did mention we were going to touch on Shohei real quick.
- 18:26He announced that he is not he is not interested in the in the
- 18:33mix this year and being in the mix he's he claiming because
- 18:39he's still rehabbing and still trying to preserve that health.
- 18:46He can't do it this year. Can't do.
- 18:49It that, that one actually doesn't fully surprise me 'cause
- 18:53I think there's like a lot of conversation about how sometimes
- 18:58he doesn't even take BP before games.
- 19:02Like he, there's a lot of times where he doesn't even really
- 19:06swing it that much before games. So like that I kind of
- 19:13understand because hitting, you know, competing in the Home Run
- 19:15Derby, it's like you're basically practicing the days
- 19:20before you're taking BP like the whole day during and you're
- 19:27exhausting yourself for the competition.
- 19:30I'm not surprised. That's probably more swings than
- 19:32he takes In like two weeks. It's all out.
- 19:38Yeah, I saw, I saw a handful of people, a handful of maybe it's
- 19:41a stretch. I saw an article or two that
- 19:44possibly like borderline click bait, but they got me.
- 19:47I, I, I read it, but they're talking about, I clicked talking
- 19:51about just cancelling the Home Run Derby if a guy like Shohei
- 19:55Otani can't participate. And I'm like, that's a little
- 19:57bit of a stretch. But also I understand the point
- 20:01of view that. That says if we're not getting,
- 20:06if we're not getting the best of the best, like why?
- 20:09Why bother? Like if we're getting Brandon
- 20:11Inge type, I mean that that's on the other end of the spectrum,
- 20:15like the furthest end of the spectrum.
- 20:17But I get it. Like, no, as great as the Home
- 20:20Run Derby is as an exhibition, like nobody wants to sit there
- 20:22and watch a bunch of scrubs goose egg it.
- 20:25You know, like people want to see 500 foot home runs.
- 20:29I don't juice the balls. I don't care.
- 20:30People want to see 500 foot home runs.
- 20:33I would I if there was ever a change to it, I would rather see
- 20:37like a bat skills competition. You know what I mean where it's
- 20:47like AI don't know you've seen those videos like the in the
- 20:53KBO, like the Bunning competitions, like if there was
- 20:56like Bunning or like if there was like the the MVP game where
- 21:04you're playing, there's like stuff in the outfield that
- 21:06you're trying to hit. Like targets.
- 21:08Oh yeah, MVPO 5. Like yeah, the rolling tractors.
- 21:11Yeah, but like, think about, but think about.
- 21:13Tractors out there. Think about what the NFL has
- 21:17done with the like the Pro Bowl, and it's turned into like, the
- 21:19skills of it like. Nobody.
- 21:22I'm more likely to watch that than the Pro Bowl, though.
- 21:25I don't think the Homer is that desperate, though.
- 21:28I don't feel like majority of people would be though, because
- 21:31I feel like went for the Pro Bowl.
- 21:33It had sort of dwindled down as as that game turned into more
- 21:37and more of a joke, viewership got became less.
- 21:40And then the remaining percentage of people that were
- 21:44watching the Pro Bowl before they switched to the skills
- 21:46competition were like, I've had enough.
- 21:49And now you just have a like a very.
- 21:50Yeah, but that's like, that's like dodgeball.
- 21:52They're playing like dodgeball and cornhole and stuff.
- 21:55Yeah, but. That, that's what I'm saying.
- 21:58I don't think bunting is gonna. I don't think bunting is very
- 22:01sexy. I don't think it's gonna sell.
- 22:02I meant like like a skill thing because they used to do like the
- 22:05throw downs like catcher throw down on like little targets at
- 22:092nd. I'm not gonna let this slide.
- 22:10Let's back up. First of all, for the record,
- 22:13would 1000% be down to watch our game's brightest stars go at it
- 22:20in the game of cornhole. Just so we're clear.
- 22:23Like, let's not. Let's not watch Cornhole not
- 22:27played. It's on ESPN all the time.
- 22:32Of course I've watched Cornhole. I don't think that helps your
- 22:35argument that much. Cornhole's electric What are we
- 22:40talking about? I think when when they're pros.
- 22:45OK, I would love to. I'm going to.
- 22:47I'm going to take a poll. I'm going to.
- 22:50In fact, I'm I might even make this a video snippet for Social
- 22:52after the fact. What would you rather watch?
- 22:54Would you rather watch MLB stars play cornhole or would you
- 22:59rather watch a bunting? Competition.
- 23:01I didn't compare the two. What I was saying is that like
- 23:04it's a skills thing. I'd be down for like a skills
- 23:08thing but. But with hitting, there's only I
- 23:10feel like so much you could do, right?
- 23:12Like there's what else could you do?
- 23:14I was. Just like an all skills thing.
- 23:15It's not just hitting. It's like an all skills.
- 23:19You get the catchers doing their thing.
- 23:21Yeah, I don't know, like a home run robbery skill.
- 23:23I don't know. I'm over this.
- 23:25I like the Home Run Derby. I don't even know why I'm
- 23:27arguing against this. All I'm hearing you say is that
- 23:30you hate the Home Run Derby and you never want to watch it
- 23:33again. In fact, you might even boycott
- 23:35our live stream coming up. I might.
- 23:38Nice little nice little plug there.
- 23:40Nice little plug there for the live stream.
- 23:42Be sure to join us Monday, July 15th, 8:00 PM Eastern.
- 23:47We're going to be watching the Home Run Derby.
- 23:49As much as Nate may hate it, we're going to be giving some
- 23:52things away. Giving away some money, maybe
- 23:56giving away some merch, some some All Star merch.
- 23:59Speaking of which, maybe I retract my statement.
- 24:04I don't know if we're going to be giving away any All Star
- 24:06merch because it's hideous. Can we talk about this for just
- 24:12a second? I don't.
- 24:14Know what to do I I have one that I've I've won and I don't
- 24:18want it. I don't know what to do.
- 24:22It's the that that soft medium rare salmon filet color is
- 24:32brutal man. I don't like it.
- 24:36Yeah. If you don't know what Nate's
- 24:38referring to the I think we introduced this last year, the
- 24:42first year we did it, but in our three O take fantasy league that
- 24:46we run each year. Again, it's a new batch of
- 24:49people each year. So you may have a chance at
- 24:52entering the league next year if you're listening or watching.
- 24:57We introduced it last year to where the to to incentivize
- 25:03grinding it out to the halfway point.
- 25:05The best performing team, the win, the manager of said team
- 25:11gets their pick of an All Star jersey.
- 25:14Last year was fine. The Seattle jerseys, they're all
- 25:18right. This year, Nate has the best
- 25:21team and I think he's pretty much a shoe in at this point to
- 25:24get the jersey. I don't blame you, dude.
- 25:29I mean, they if you look at the if you look at the front, it
- 25:31looks it reminds me of what was at the Bailey and Barnum circus
- 25:35logo. It looks, it looks, I don't
- 25:44know. Have you, oh, did you see the,
- 25:47did you see the, the, the home or the, I'm sorry, the National
- 25:53League jersey 'cause I think, I think, I think only the AL
- 25:58Jersey's been floating around. Yeah.
- 26:00I didn't see the NL one, did you?
- 26:04Yeah. You did?
- 26:06Yeah. NL All Star Jersey.
- 26:14It is about as close as you can get to a Miami Marlins jersey.
- 26:20Oh, is that it? That's the one.
- 26:26What the heck? I'm so confused one. 100%
- 26:40convinced that Major League Baseball, Nike, whoever's
- 26:44responsible for these decisions, decisions are doing it
- 26:46intentionally now because I would venture to say that the
- 26:49overwhelming majority of people just want to see the players
- 26:54wear their teams jerseys to see their team, the team that
- 26:58they're a fan of represented at the All Star game.
- 27:01And again, we've talked about this at length.
- 27:03There's a there's a degree of pride I would imagine, for guys
- 27:06to be able to represent their team across their chest at the
- 27:09All Star game. Freaking point.
- 27:13We love to see guys wearing different jerseys on the same
- 27:16field that we would never see. Sorry, keep going.
- 27:22But there's no money in that, Nate.
- 27:24There's no money in that, which is why we'll continue to see
- 27:28these goodwill uniforms thrown out there every year.
- 27:35That's the reality of it. One of them looks like a It's
- 27:39like a Toy Story costume, the American League one.
- 27:46Yeah, I don't know. I'm over it.
- 27:49I'm over it. I got a snake in my boot.
- 27:53Yeah, this is it's a tough look. So excited to see all these guys
- 27:59just sweating through it in the second inning.
- 28:04Just trash, bro. Just garbage.
- 28:10But you know, there's always, it doesn't matter how bad they are,
- 28:14it it just doesn't matter. You're going to see in the
- 28:17comments, I actually like them. They're actually not that bad.
- 28:21People are just hating just to hate.
- 28:23No, stop. They're garbage.
- 28:25They're bad, they're no good. Bring back players wearing their
- 28:31team's jerseys. It's that simple.
- 28:34Stop trying to make something better when it was already good.
- 28:38It's fine. It's fine as it as is.
- 28:43You're not making it better, you're making it worse.
- 28:47Come on now. Speaking of being better, can
- 28:51Aaron Judge get any better than he is right now?
- 28:53I. Don't know.
- 28:57I don't know, because he had first and third with one out in
- 29:00this game and he rolled into a double play.
- 29:03So I'm not thrilled about that. But did you see that comparison
- 29:09of Bryce Harper's 2021 MVP season?
- 29:16That's scary. Literally these numbers that he
- 29:19has already. Because if you remember I that
- 29:23was the year I was I was sold. I predicted Harper to win the
- 29:27MVP at this at the from the jump in our pre season predictions
- 29:32episode. And that whole that whole
- 29:35season, I was just letting it eat anytime Harper was doing
- 29:39anything could and I was so confident and it panned out that
- 29:44way. But what judge is doing is
- 29:46better than that. So like for the whole year, like
- 29:51I was following Harper closely that year.
- 29:53I'm not really following judge as closely.
- 29:55So you'd be able to speak to a better, but like how how you're
- 29:58not just mind blown by what he's doing right now.
- 30:01It's, it's unbelievable. It's he's one dot wanting it
- 30:05with the OPS, which is insane. It's every out is loud, every
- 30:12out is hammered. For the most part, he's
- 30:16commanding the entire zone. It's the I if you look at his
- 30:22numbers, his strikeout percentage is just continually
- 30:25going down each year. So like all of the issues that
- 30:29and he's playing center field every day, which is like it's
- 30:32these are factors that have to be a part of the conversation
- 30:37that this is if he stays healthy and continues what he's doing is
- 30:41like it's a top five season we've ever seen.
- 30:49Like he's he's got a legitimate race at the at the full on home
- 30:55run record, not just the A1. Do we know how that stacks up
- 30:59right now? Like what's?
- 31:00What's the? Are we like?
- 31:03No idea. 'Cause I know he's he's
- 31:07outpacing his his own AL record. 62 From was that 2022?
- 31:13Yeah, he's outpacing 2022. Let's see, I think RotoWire is
- 31:23the place to go for like the game breakdown beep.
- 31:37I'm really curious now. Is Aaron Judge?
- 31:42Well, he's not he. He's certainly not outpacing,
- 31:44but I'm just curious to see how far behind.
- 31:47Yeah, I don't think so. What year was that?
- 31:49Let me see. Let me see.
- 31:50Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. RotoWire.
- 31:52Relax, guy. How can we figure this out?
- 32:00I should really be using anything but my phone for this.
- 32:04I don't. Know if we're going to be able
- 32:09to find the answer or no quick enough time.
- 32:13What year did you do it? What do I want to say?
- 32:17Like 04? No.
- 32:21Who are you talking about? Are you talking about Judge?
- 32:23That was 2022. Oh, 73 you talking about?
- 32:28That was Oh, yeah, that was 010, Juan.
- 32:32Oh, Juan. Why?
- 32:41How many? How many games?
- 32:43How about this, can you do me? Can you pull up a real quick
- 32:46number for me? How many games have the Yankees
- 32:48played, including or no? Just entering tonight, Not
- 32:53including tonight. Entering tonight they've played
- 32:5887 games which I believe he's played in like 80, 8384 of them.
- 33:11Is there any way to figure this out?
- 33:13There's got to be somebody maybe can help us out.
- 33:17Oh, hold on, Hold on, hold on. I think I know.
- 33:19Just talk for a while, I'm going to look this up.
- 33:21No, no, I got it. I got it.
- 33:22Hold on. How many games did you say the
- 33:25Yankees have played 80? 7.
- 33:32Come on, come on. No, that's not.
- 33:38I told you I had it should probably like maybe look.
- 33:42This MLB Stat Muse, I mean, no free ads, but just a little plug
- 33:46for MLB Stat Muse. Very, very good tool.
- 33:51I love that. I love that tool.
- 33:54I thought I found what I was looking for on RotoWire.
- 33:56Could be, could be crazy there. There's good there's good
- 34:02websites for like certain certain stats that you want to
- 34:07find. You know what I mean?
- 34:11Like baseball Savant, if you want to like a breakdown of of
- 34:17like metrics and stuff, baseball Savant's top tier.
- 34:22Obviously if you want to look like career numbers, baseball
- 34:25references top tier like there's just.
- 34:28Certain, I mean, forget the well, I don't want to I don't
- 34:34want to diminish the importance of the single season home run
- 34:37record, but like let's not lose sight of the fact that judges in
- 34:41pursuit of the Triple Crown this year.
- 34:45I think entering, I think entering today, Wednesday, he
- 34:50was leading the AL and batting average at 3/21.
- 34:55He had 32 home runs and 83 RB is.
- 35:03Yeah, that's crazy. So as good of a season that he
- 35:07had in 2022, like what Aaron Judge is doing in 2024 is
- 35:15otherworldly. And weirdly enough, can I say
- 35:20that it's not getting talked about enough.
- 35:23Like I only, I almost feel like the the Judge narrative has
- 35:26gotten tired for some people, which is weird because I feel
- 35:29like that I feel like that that whole thing was reserved for
- 35:35Shohei. People just got tired of hearing
- 35:36about Shohei. Like, OK, we get it.
- 35:38We get it. Shohei's going to the bathroom
- 35:39six times today. We don't need to hear another
- 35:41Shohei update. I feel like that's now maybe
- 35:44switched a little bit, transitioned over to Judge and
- 35:47people are like, OK, like, we get it.
- 35:50He he hits a lot of home runs. It's like, don't you understand,
- 35:54Like what's happening here? He's like he's outpacing his
- 35:592022 season when he won the MVP and he's in pursuit of the
- 36:06Triple Crown. Like this is one of the better
- 36:09offensive seasons we've ever seen on a diamond and that's
- 36:14saying something. So and not to mention
- 36:20back-to-back winner of the player of the month award.
- 36:23So like he's it's Aaron Judge right now.
- 36:28And then the rest of the league, like there's just how much of A
- 36:32how much of a gap you want to say that exists?
- 36:34That's up to you, but it's a gap.
- 36:39RotoWire doesn't go back before 2010.
- 36:43All right. I think we can give up on the
- 36:44single. I think we can give up on the
- 36:46pace. We're not going to find it.
- 36:47We need to, we need to move on, unless you wanna just sit here
- 36:54in silence and we can, we can do research.
- 36:59I'm just. Curious, you know, just curious.
- 37:03We're not gonna find it. We're gonna have to think so.
- 37:06No, we've we've tried our tools. We're not gonna find it.
- 37:11OK, well, at least we can do this.
- 37:14Let's see, So 2001 he averaged .48 home runs per game.
- 37:24Who are we talking about, Judge? Bonds.
- 37:26Bonds in 2001. So through 87 games he would
- 37:32have had 41.76 home runs. Through 87 games.
- 37:39Yeah, if he played every game. So Aaron Judge home runs pair
- 37:55game. This is high quality
- 37:57entertainment for the. Point 31.31 So he's got to keep
- 38:04it rolling. Let's not, let's not begin the
- 38:08narrative that that. Doesn't make sense either 'cause
- 38:11you do 87 * .31 that only gets you to 26.9.
- 38:17Math is not our strong suit. Math ain't math.
- 38:20We need to move on. We covered show Hey, not
- 38:24participating in the in the Derby.
- 38:27Aaron Savali traded to the Milwaukee Brewers.
- 38:33This man is still trying to figure out this home run pace.
- 38:36That was his career. That was his career numbers.
- 38:39He's at .38, so 87 times 038 home runs.
- 38:43That's 33 home runs. OK, OK, we're good now.
- 38:45We're good, we're good, we're good.
- 38:47So 162 at this pace would mean that he's set to go right at
- 38:526160. Two home runs again, if he keeps
- 38:56this pace. That's all logging out, turning
- 39:02this off, I'm back. Who got traded where?
- 39:05Aaron Savali to the Milwaukee Brewers, sporting a lowly 517
- 39:17over his 27 starts with the with the Rays.
- 39:22Where was he? Was he somewhere before the
- 39:24Rays? Cleveland.
- 39:26Cleveland. That's right.
- 39:31Yeah, Whatever. It's just depth I guess.
- 39:36He's got a five O 7 this season, said to be a free agent.
- 39:41Never know, dude. You see teams trade for people
- 39:43who you're just like, huh, why? And then they have metrics.
- 39:47They have like something that they've noticed in him.
- 39:51Yeah. I mean, that's kind of where I'm
- 39:52at with this move. I'm like they the Brewers have
- 39:56to see something because they're, I mean, they're
- 39:58obviously making a run at the postseason.
- 40:00The Rays, you could make an argument one way or another, but
- 40:03Brewers clearly trying to make a move here.
- 40:05So I don't think that they would actively go out and sign
- 40:07somebody that diminishes those chances.
- 40:10Yeah, we've talked about like how certain guys like year over
- 40:13year, if you look at their like pitch percentages and all of a
- 40:16sudden, you know, this guy is throwing his slider 15% more
- 40:22than he did last year. Like I think there's an
- 40:25alignment with philosophies. There's a like, I try not to
- 40:30sound too much like a Homer here, but like, when Sonny Gray
- 40:33was in New York, there was not. The philosophy didn't add up.
- 40:37He didn't love it, you know, like they wanted him.
- 40:40Larry Rothschild was wanting him to throw off speed more often
- 40:43than he wanted to. You see what I'm saying?
- 40:45Like, so if there's a philosophy in Tampa with Savali, that's
- 40:49just not really gelling. And the Brewers are like, hey,
- 40:55what you want to do and what you're successful at is
- 40:58something that we like to do come on over.
- 41:01And that's why this stuff happens.
- 41:03This is why I like again, sounding like a Homer, but like
- 41:07Clay Holmes was a nobody. And then the Yankees were like,
- 41:10well, this pitch is really good, let's do this more.
- 41:13And then all of a sudden he's on to the scene.
- 41:15So you never know. You never know, Savali could go
- 41:18out there and just dice and slot in as like a two guy in the in
- 41:22the rotation. Plenty of opportunities.
- 41:27Good for the Brewers for doing something, you know what I mean?
- 41:31Yeah. Can we like, can we get the
- 41:33trade market moving a little bit here?
- 41:35It'd be really nice to see some moves that could.
- 41:39I want a mid game. That's my dream, a mid All Star
- 41:42game, trade, change jerseys, go over to the other dugout.
- 41:47I want to see that. It'd be awesome.
- 41:53That would be pretty interesting.
- 41:55I don't think they do that. I don't.
- 41:56I don't think any GMs are. Talking haven't haven't we seen
- 41:59that before though When a guy he gets traded, I.
- 42:06Love the on field trade news. I'm just a sucker for those
- 42:11where they're like literally on the field and they're like
- 42:14you're getting pinch ran for randomly in the 4th.
- 42:16Oh yeah? Come on.
- 42:17Big fan of that. Yeah, because it just goes to
- 42:20show you that the guys in the front office could not care less
- 42:22about what's happening on the field 'cause they're over there
- 42:24Wheeling and dealing. Like, all right, we got to send
- 42:26Jonny Boy over to Cleveland. Whatever.
- 42:31No, but has that happened before when like a guy makes it to the
- 42:36All Star game but then gets traded like before or after
- 42:40something? And it's like weird with the
- 42:42with the league that he's representing.
- 42:43We've seen that before, haven't we?
- 42:45Like somewhat recently. Do you know what I'm talking
- 42:46about or am I just sounding like a?
- 42:48I have no clue what I'm talking about but.
- 42:51I think you sound a little crazy personally.
- 42:53That's fair, that's fair. I I thought that made sense, but
- 42:56apparently not. Brew Crew going for it, doing
- 43:02things, I'm proud of them. What does this tell you about
- 43:05the rays though? Pun because well, because to
- 43:10your point though, like if there is something in the tank with
- 43:13Savala, I'm not saying like for the rest of it for like beyond
- 43:17this year, I'm saying like this year, if there's something in
- 43:19the tank because he hasn't had a great year.
- 43:21But if there is something still there, the Rays are saying no
- 43:25thanks, we'd rather part, we'd rather part ways and look
- 43:30internally 'cause I think they're adding Shane Baz to the
- 43:32rotation. I read and I think he's having
- 43:35he's having a good run. Has he I?
- 43:39Didn't even know if. He's pitched at AAA.
- 43:42Sorry, but is it so this is to. Clear 40 man, that's what it
- 43:49feels like. Well, I'm just talking about the
- 43:54manipulation of the rotation. I'm not necessarily talking
- 43:56about like Ross movies, but I'm saying like, what is what does
- 43:59this tell you with them parting ways with with Savali?
- 44:03Does this does this tell you that they're like looking to
- 44:07next season? Or do you think this is maybe
- 44:10just an opportunity to RE personnel, if you will, retool
- 44:16and maybe make some additional moves at the deadline to better
- 44:20suit their needs for this year? The rays, you're saying?
- 44:23Yes. No, I don't think so.
- 44:27Do you think they're punting? I think they're punting.
- 44:30I think that the second, you know, Mcclanahan and and
- 44:41Rasmussen were just like, it's what are you going to do?
- 44:44What are you going to do when like your top 2 rotation guys
- 44:48are done for the year? One of them is very much in the
- 44:51AL Cy Young candidate race immediately before the season
- 44:56starts. Like what?
- 44:57What can you do? You're already like, I need
- 45:00everything to go right to win, No that season, no.
- 45:04No, no. That applies to teams like ours,
- 45:06the Red Sox, the Yankees, when they come into a year where it's
- 45:10like, I'm not saying this year, I'm just saying generally
- 45:12speaking, like when they come into year where, you know, like
- 45:15it could go either way, but we need a lot of things to go
- 45:17right. It's been that way for the Red
- 45:18Sox for the last handful of years.
- 45:20I know from experience. The Rays aren't in that arena,
- 45:24though. We've talked about this many
- 45:26times. The Rays figure out a way to
- 45:30manufacture arms, to manufacture talent, to manufacture
- 45:35production from guys that you wouldn't think have any talent
- 45:40OR have minimal at best. They figure out a way to fit it
- 45:45into their system and maximize, capitalize as best they can to
- 45:51produce. As we say all the time, minimum
- 45:5490 wins it seems every season. So I'm not necessarily worried
- 45:59when they lose. It sucks when you when you lose
- 46:02top front of the rotation arms like that, not Savali, but like
- 46:07Rasmussen and and so on and so forth.
- 46:09They I know they've been beat up arms wise, but I don't worry as
- 46:12much with the Rays because it's like, OK, who's up next?
- 46:16Like what is Shane Baz going to come up and do?
- 46:20So it's really hard for me to say that they're going to punt
- 46:23because the Rays, I just don't feel like they're a team that
- 46:25that would do something like that or at least be be
- 46:29forthcoming about because they just figure out a way to sneak
- 46:32in. And the reality is, is entering
- 46:33today, they're only, I think, what, three games back of the
- 46:40wild, the final wild card spot. I understand what you're saying.
- 46:44I don't know. I mean, I guess to that point,
- 46:47like, you never know, maybe just maybe the Rays are the one
- 46:50that's that's sought out this trade.
- 46:53I don't know. It's pretty crazy what I was
- 46:54trying to find. So I was on my phone.
- 46:57They gave away Kyle Manzardo for Savali and Manzardo's like, I
- 47:05know he's been in the bigs a little bit this year, but he is
- 47:07like a top five prospect with the Guardians.
- 47:10So like they didn't give up some schlub to get him.
- 47:13And I'm trying to see what barrios the the Brewers #21
- 47:23prospect, 20 years old going to be going to high a he now ranks
- 47:37as the rays #19 prospect did Savali.
- 47:43Was he owed that much? Like what is the point of this
- 47:45move for the for the Rays anyway?
- 47:50This just seems like it. I'm not saying he's like he's
- 47:54worth a lot more. I'm not saying like he's having
- 47:57an incredible season, but like what's the point of doing the
- 48:01trade now if you're the race like it?
- 48:03Why? Why would you not kind of hold
- 48:04on to later in the deadline and see if there's more players,
- 48:08like there's more teams involved, there's more people in
- 48:11the hunt. Just a weird trade for a nobody.
- 48:17No offense to Barrios speaking. Of nobody.
- 48:24See real quick what he makes before I'm done. 4.9 million.
- 48:32So I guess they're ditching two and a half million roughly.
- 48:35I don't understand the Rays, man.
- 48:41I don't, I can't. I don't know what's going on.
- 48:43I never know, but it sounds like a punt.
- 48:53Speaking of not knowing, let's trust, let's trust segue again.
- 49:01Do we know if Tim Anderson is going to play Major League
- 49:06Baseball again? I mean, what is this fall off,
- 49:10man? What has happened?
- 49:13He won the what year did he win the batting title?
- 49:16Was that? Was that 20?
- 49:2421. No, it was a 19.
- 49:25Wow, 20th man, where does time go?
- 49:292019 hit 335, won the AL batting title.
- 49:34Chicago said no thanks. This is why the the baseball
- 49:40gods are so good. So good.
- 49:45I'd like to see the exact date of when he called himself Jackie
- 49:48Robinson, and I'd like to see what the OPS did.
- 49:54I want to see that bar graph. I want to see that line graph
- 49:56just working its way down, down, down, down.
- 50:00That's what you get, man. That's what you get.
- 50:03That's what you get. All right, one of my favorite
- 50:07accounts to follow at Yankee World on Twitter, Tim Anderson's
- 50:11ranks out of 147 players with 1200 plus played appearances
- 50:15since the Field of Dreams game where he had the walk off home
- 50:17run. This is out of 147 players with
- 50:211200 plate appearances. Just to reiterate, in regards to
- 50:26home runs, he ranks 145th again 100 and out of 147 players ranks
- 50:31145th in home runs, 145th in slugging, 145th in OPS walk to K
- 50:38ratio, 147th dead last waited runs created plus 145th.
- 50:45I want to know who those other two guys are that are are
- 50:47seemingly behind him in every one of these categories.
- 50:50Yeah. Who would those guys be?
- 50:52I. Don't know names.
- 50:55We've probably never heard. That's crazy.
- 50:59That's a big fall off. That is a big fall off.
- 51:03In 65 games this year with the Marlins hit just two fourteen
- 51:07with a 463 OPS and 31 weighted runs created.
- 51:12Plus, What do you like? What if you had to pin this on
- 51:18one thing, what do you like? What do you think the the fall
- 51:22off stemmed from 'cause I. I have a hard time believing
- 51:27because we always talk like, well, is it mechanical?
- 51:29Is it mental? I have a hard time believing for
- 51:32a guy like Tim Anderson that is mental because the confidence,
- 51:36at least outwardly, is well, that's always.
- 51:39There, that's what you could argue that's what that's what
- 51:43brought the success in the beginning, but if that's all
- 51:45you're riding on is only confidence the 2nd that takes a
- 51:50hit, you got nothing else. Hey, that's where it just
- 51:53started to go. Once you lose that, it's hard to
- 51:55get it back. I mean, I, but I don't I think
- 51:58he's done. I think he's done.
- 52:00I don't see why anyone would give him a shot.
- 52:02I, I, I don't understand what you would ever want to pay the,
- 52:06the veteran minimum and say that he's going to give you more than
- 52:10some AAA prospect that you have. I'm not interested at all when
- 52:15it comes with, when it comes with everything else, when it
- 52:17comes with the baggage of everything else.
- 52:21And I don't know. When was the when did Jose
- 52:26Ramirez clock him? I think that was 2022, Yeah.
- 52:33There's a there's I've seen some people talking about how you're
- 52:37an absolute fool if you think that that started the downfall,
- 52:41but I would be curious what the numbers.
- 52:43Say I don't know, man. Like Tatis's hip bumped into
- 52:46Anthony Rizzo and then he basically turned into a warm
- 52:50body at first base after that. So you never know what the head
- 52:54you don't know. What day was that?
- 53:01I'll see. That would have been is that
- 53:10that was last year, right? I thought it was 2022.
- 53:13I guess I'm wrong. Here you go, Tim Anderson.
- 53:20This is Dan Clark. Sorry, Tim Anderson.
- 53:23Before being rocked by Jose Ramirez, he was hitting two
- 53:2683740 OPS, 98 home runs, 332 RB is.
- 53:32After being rocked by Jose Ramirez 236 average, 557 OPS,
- 53:37zero home runs 12 RB is. Oh sorry, this was dating back
- 53:43to May so this is like a couple months ago, but I would venture
- 53:46to say that the. It's gone down.
- 53:49The rates are very similar, if not worse hold.
- 53:54On man like these, these are all like just shots to the ego.
- 54:03Some egos just can't handle it. Yeah, the Jackie Robinson thing
- 54:07for me that was. That was my.
- 54:08That was my. I was done.
- 54:10That was the final straw for me. I was like, what are we doing?
- 54:12Like there's no way. There's no like there's nothing
- 54:15that you can draw there to make that to like justify.
- 54:19Like that's just not no. Here's the other There's the
- 54:26other date. When was he on the cover with
- 54:30Javi Baez? Oh, I saw that.
- 54:33I saw that today. Where it was like they're like
- 54:35the future of baseball's here or whatever.
- 54:41That was Sports Illustrated, right?
- 54:42Yeah, I think so. Spring 2020, so that makes sense
- 54:51that was. That's that's right after the
- 54:52batting title. Fresh off the batting title,
- 54:55Javi Baez is still with the Cubs at that point.
- 54:59So like, I get it. But like, we, I mean, to be
- 55:07fair, we've been doing this podcast a long time.
- 55:09Like we I remember when we covered.
- 55:11The I remember when that came out.
- 55:13The bat throw. Yeah.
- 55:15Like that was even before this. Yeah, that was pre COVID.
- 55:20Yeah. I think pre batting title like.
- 55:24That might have been 19. That might have been batting
- 55:26title a year. Was it OK?
- 55:27Yeah, like. I mean, we, yeah.
- 55:31We've followed this guy's career for some time, man, and it it
- 55:34has absolutely fallen off a Cliff.
- 55:36I don't understand it. And it's the defense is like,
- 55:39it's not like that. I think there's maybe from the
- 55:42outside looking in, I'd see a little bit of like a reluctance,
- 55:49you know, like reluctancy to, to change reluctancy.
- 55:57He's reluctant to change. He's reluctant to change.
- 56:02Sorry, folks, it's been a long day.
- 56:05I don't think he's, I just don't think he, I think he's stubborn.
- 56:09I think there's certain players where you're just like, are you
- 56:11willing to put up with that or not?
- 56:13And when you're less than league average defensively and you're
- 56:19clearly bottom of the barrel offensively, it's like, yeah,
- 56:23all done. Yeah, Now that's a valid point.
- 56:26I mean, the reality of it is, is I would, I would venture to say
- 56:28that a guy who at times can be a little overly confident if he's
- 56:34being told like, hey, maybe we should make some adjustments.
- 56:37If you've got the batting title, granted there's 2019 batting
- 56:42title, but if you've got a batting title in your back
- 56:44pocket and again, you're as overly confident as as he can be
- 56:48at times, it's probably a little bit of a a tall order to maybe
- 56:54get him to maybe submit to those suggestions or recommendations
- 57:01mechanically because he there's probably a.
- 57:04Or probably fights it. Yeah.
- 57:10So yeah, he's all done. I don't.
- 57:11I don't see why would he? Why would he come back?
- 57:13For where? For what?
- 57:15For who? I mean, I, I played devil's
- 57:22advocate with the what was it the Jorge Lopez?
- 57:26Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:27I was going to say Pablo. Yeah, Jorge.
- 57:30Lopez and I said he was somebody who's going to pick him up,
- 57:32which sure enough, that happened.
- 57:34I'm not I'm not doing that with Tim Anderson this this time
- 57:37around. I don't I I like who?
- 57:41Why? Baseball is just so weird, man.
- 57:44It's just so weird. The fact that like, David
- 57:46Fletcher's just pitching, you know what I mean?
- 57:50Like there's crazy stories, There's crazier stories than
- 57:53someone giving TAA shot. But like, why talks about risk
- 58:02reward earlier? Like same thing.
- 58:05I swear, if the Yankees pick him up, I will cry myself to sleep.
- 58:12Yeah, if you need some infield depth, then JD Davis doesn't
- 58:15work out. Let's let's try TA Yeah, I'd
- 58:17love to see how how the fans received Tim Anderson.
- 58:20Well, I mean, they seem to like Marcus Stroman, so it's fine.
- 58:24Speaking of which, I'm starting to see some I'm starting to see
- 58:27some some people turn on Alex Verdugo a little bit.
- 58:32That's going to be fun to watch over the next couple months.
- 58:35Yeah. I love that.
- 58:38Yeah, that man's a double play machine producing them.
- 58:42Who could have predicted that Alex Verdugo, of all people,
- 58:45would have? Yeah.
- 58:47Changed his tune once things got a little rough.
- 58:50Interesting, interesting. We got, I think last thing we
- 58:57got here is we can seriously watch.
- 58:58But before we get to that, maybe a little quick game here real
- 59:02quick. Real quick.
- 59:05We're Owen 2 on on on name the player is this?
- 59:11Is this where we break the streak?
- 59:13Could be, could be. You ready for this, are you?
- 59:23Mentally, no, but physically I'm here, so I don't have a choice.
- 59:27All right. That's fair.
- 59:28I'm about the same, about the same where to start?
- 59:32It's a shot in the dark right away, so.
- 59:36We haven't started the game yet, so I feel like, I feel like some
- 59:40strategy is allowed. Not that I have to, not that I'm
- 59:44giving hints, but like maybe let's try to stick more modern
- 59:47'cause we, we, we've been teetering into like the 90s,
- 59:51maybe even the 80s with some of these names we've gone with
- 59:55recently. I.
- 59:56Like it back then though. Yeah, but the connections are
- 1:00:00much harder to draw. Fine, current player.
- 1:00:05That's too easy. I'm just saying first to start
- 1:00:08out like your initial guess and then we go from there.
- 1:00:11I, I'm not saying it won't eventually fall off the rails
- 1:00:14into older players, but like, let's start, let's, let's start
- 1:00:17a little more modern. So again, if you're if you're
- 1:00:19not familiar, we have to we have to guess the same name, the same
- 1:00:25player based on the previous players guessed content like
- 1:00:32connection, but we have to draw a connection based on our each
- 1:00:37of our guesses. Remember what I said last week,
- 1:00:40I typically go with like that one position and then one team.
- 1:00:45That's my strategy. OK, I'm sticking to.
- 1:00:47That I don't think I, I don't fully get that approach and I
- 1:00:53don't I feel like I struggle to follow that approach.
- 1:00:56I'm I think my connections are more.
- 1:00:58Unless there's like an actual connection between the two.
- 1:01:02Yeah, how you miss the the Dave Roberts, Kevin Millar.
- 1:01:06Derek cheating, that's a hand up accountability and it's hard to
- 1:01:09call me out after that. I already admitted it and we
- 1:01:13passed it. We can.
- 1:01:14We can be professionals here. All right, OK, I got a guy.
- 1:01:18OK, you ready? All right. 321 Christina, OK.
- 1:01:30I'm gonna be honest with you, this name flashed through my
- 1:01:32brain before I it really did. Yeah.
- 1:01:35Whoa, was that some like subliminal thing?
- 1:01:37Like I knew I saw that jersey when we like right when we
- 1:01:40hopped on the call and then that's the name I went with.
- 1:01:43Maybe that was like sitting in the back you.
- 1:01:45Weren't doing that because I'm wearing.
- 1:01:46Subconscious. No, I completely forgot, but
- 1:01:50I'm, that's what I'm saying. I think maybe my maybe my brain
- 1:01:52logged that away for the game when I saw it when he first
- 1:01:55hopped on. Interesting.
- 1:01:56OK, so we got Nolan, Nolan Arnado and Christian Yelich.
- 1:02:10Oh, if you do anything there. You doing anything?
- 1:02:13Do you got anything? I think I got something.
- 1:02:19A connection between Nolan Arenado and Christian Yelich.
- 1:02:25This is tough. It should it's it shouldn't be
- 1:02:29as tough as I think it is my head.
- 1:02:31But because we're talking same division here, is it cheating if
- 1:02:39I think out loud? Because I I feel like that gives
- 1:02:41you my line of thinking. I think I need you to get to a
- 1:02:57name a lot quicker than this. I know this is tough.
- 1:03:00I don't know why the the I I can't think of anything so.
- 1:03:05I don't have a ton of reason behind mine.
- 1:03:07But this is the first name that came to mind.
- 1:03:08It's not right, but I'm just going to go with it.
- 1:03:11OK 'cause it was the first name that came to mind.
- 1:03:13All right? 321 Cody Bellinger.
- 1:03:19OK, OK. That's not good.
- 1:03:22That's not good. Ryan Braun and Cody Bellinger.
- 1:03:33And to reiterate, we can't say the same names that have
- 1:03:36already. We can't say names that have
- 1:03:37already been said. Correct.
- 1:03:39Hovering around the same division, so that's good.
- 1:03:42Hanging out in the NL Central, Ryan Braun and Cody Bellinger.
- 1:03:49And that's three, by the way. That's three of them.
- 1:03:53Or no. Yeah, that's three guesses,
- 1:03:56right? Yeah, no, it's not two, it's
- 1:04:02two. It's two.
- 1:04:03It's it two all right? Third guess.
- 1:04:09You got any? You working on something?
- 1:04:11What do we got Ryan Braun and Cody Bellinger see?
- 1:04:23That's a leap. Big leap.
- 1:04:26All right, I've got a name. It's not great.
- 1:04:29But it's I got a name and it's not great.
- 1:04:30I have this. Weird feeling though that we're
- 1:04:32going to get it this time because I feel like we're not
- 1:04:35like we're kind of staying within some some boundaries
- 1:04:39here. I feel like we're going to get
- 1:04:40it this time, all right? Even if it's just by accident.
- 1:04:43All right? I got a guy.
- 1:04:44This is our 3rd guest. Yeah.
- 1:04:46All right. 321 Jason Hayward. That name came to mind.
- 1:04:56Why did that name came to come to mind for me?
- 1:04:59Why did it come to mind for you? Cubs, Dodgers.
- 1:05:03Bellinger, Cubs. Dodgers.
- 1:05:04I got you. I was thinking like power hitter
- 1:05:06Milwaukee going on. Do you know what I mean?
- 1:05:12All right, all right. So Jason Hayward and Prince
- 1:05:16Fielder. Oh boy, that is that is tough.
- 1:05:33I don't know if I have anything cooked up.
- 1:05:35We've got. OK, I I got one.
- 1:05:38I have a reason for it, but it's probably not great.
- 1:05:40But and for the sake of time, I got a name.
- 1:05:43Let me get there for a SEC. Let me get there for a SEC.
- 1:05:45That's fine. I'm trying to think of where
- 1:05:52you've gone. What are you doing?
- 1:05:56What are you doing if? We could give if we could give
- 1:05:58hint, like if we could explain our rationale, it would make it
- 1:06:02so much easier. But.
- 1:06:03I know you. Can't do that.
- 1:06:05Is yours pretty rational? Like there's a connect, there's
- 1:06:11a connection, but it's not like it's not in your face obvious.
- 1:06:16Really, it's a direct connection.
- 1:06:20It's, you know, we're just bouncing around until maybe we
- 1:06:23find some common ground here. I see, I see.
- 1:06:27I gotcha. See, the way I see this game
- 1:06:31playing out right now is we're kind of just like tiptoeing
- 1:06:33around testing the water a little bit until.
- 1:06:35Until we're not. Until we're way off.
- 1:06:38No, no, we're going to bring this back in.
- 1:06:40I we're, like I said, we're not getting way too far.
- 1:06:42We're not talking about like Jimmy Tungsten, Armo Doyle
- 1:06:47Dickerson from like the 1800s. I like him.
- 1:06:51We're staying, we're staying within the the confines here.
- 1:06:57Confines OK. That's not a hint.
- 1:07:01OK. That's not a.
- 1:07:04Buzzword. Not a buzzword there, all right.
- 1:07:06I got a name. If you can't think of anything,
- 1:07:08just just like when you think of those first two guesses, just
- 1:07:12start a name that comes to mind. I guess I don't see why I OK
- 1:07:19all. Right, that's fine.
- 1:07:21Three is guest number 4321. Carlos Miguel Cabrero, he routed
- 1:07:30around in my head, too. Oh, are these both?
- 1:07:33Zambrano Who? Who's kind of giving away a
- 1:07:38little hint here, but genuinely curious.
- 1:07:40Those are both Venezuelan guys, right?
- 1:07:42I know Micky is. I don't know about Zambrano, I
- 1:07:46think. He is maybe.
- 1:07:54Yeah, he's Venezuelan. How about that recall?
- 1:07:57Miguel Cabrero rattled around in my head.
- 1:07:58What was the connection for you? What was it, Hayward and Prince
- 1:08:03Fielder, I was just thinking of like, I don't know, like
- 1:08:07seasoned veterans like that had had some pop.
- 1:08:10I don't know. I don't know that.
- 1:08:11Name. That name did come to my Oh, OK,
- 1:08:13I think we got something going here.
- 1:08:15Well, no, we can't. We're cheating now.
- 1:08:18Zambrano and and and Miguel Cabrera, Miguel.
- 1:08:27Cabrera, yeah. We're hanging out in the Central
- 1:08:32today. Oh, I got a guy.
- 1:08:35I got a guy. You got to go.
- 1:08:40It's not, maybe it's not necessarily anything we've
- 1:08:42touched on, but I it's, it's a name.
- 1:08:46Carlos Zambrano and Miguel Cabrera and it's giving you a
- 1:08:53name? What the heck?
- 1:09:01From where my logic is real or like my rationale is very fast
- 1:09:05and loose this game I'm not the it's the connections are very
- 1:09:09very loosely tied. Yeah, I don't love that.
- 1:09:15Who did we say? We said.
- 1:09:18Carlos Zambrano and Miguel Cabrera.
- 1:09:21Miguel Cabrera. All right, I guess.
- 1:09:25Let's roll. This is the game anymore.
- 1:09:28Just thrown out a name than anything.
- 1:09:31You ready? Yeah. 321 Javi Baez.
- 1:09:41Don't ask me to explain it. I I don't know.
- 1:09:43I was thinking like power hitter, pitcher, you know what I
- 1:09:46mean, to get Javi Baez and Cece Sebastian.
- 1:09:53My my reason in there. Tigers for Javi Baez, Cubs for
- 1:09:58Zambrano. It's just a connection that I
- 1:10:01made very quickly. What do we got?
- 1:10:04CCC Sabathi and Javi Baez. Javi Baez.
- 1:10:13Oh, I got another name. CC Sabathia and Javi Baez, you
- 1:10:26got another name? What?
- 1:10:31How are we doing this? I'm trying to stay in the
- 1:10:35neighborhood. I just don't want to I.
- 1:10:37Don't want to. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:10:38We've been we've been we we we're we're getting there.
- 1:10:41I think I, I feel like this will be our first win.
- 1:10:45We're O and two. You think we've got 5 guesses
- 1:10:49left, but I've got a name. Actually, I'm, I'm, I think I'm
- 1:10:56really, I'm really proud of some of these connections I'm making.
- 1:10:59Just quick, quick pretty this is.
- 1:11:00Pretty loose for me, but let's do it.
- 1:11:03C CS and Mafia and Javi Baez. Yeah.
- 1:11:08I like this connection for myself.
- 1:11:10All right. 321, Marcus Stroman, Carlos Santana.
- 1:11:22We're AL and NL. We're just hanging out in the
- 1:11:26Central today. Hanging out in the Central
- 1:11:30Stroman and Carlos Santana. Stroman and Carlos Santana.
- 1:11:52Can I ask you a question? It's not really like that much
- 1:11:55of A hint, sure, but when Stroman comes to your brain,
- 1:12:03does it go Blue Jays, Cubs or Yankees?
- 1:12:06You know what I mean? Like how do you picture well
- 1:12:09for? That I went Cubs.
- 1:12:11You went that OK. Because I what did I look for
- 1:12:14just. Kind of maybe hang out, keep
- 1:12:15hanging out in the central. See, that's what I'm.
- 1:12:17Saying that's what we've been doing.
- 1:12:19See. What happens there?
- 1:12:20That's what we've been. Doing and Carlos Santana, you
- 1:12:26got one. Oh, I had it and I lost it.
- 1:12:29Hold on. Oh, that could.
- 1:12:39That could. Oh, I got another one.
- 1:12:41That could really throw us off. I don't.
- 1:12:43Want I got another one? Do you?
- 1:12:45Dude, pick up on, pick up on on on.
- 1:12:48I don't know my approach. Is ours.
- 1:12:50I don't. Know what your approach is I
- 1:12:51told you like sort of like under my breath but like I've told you
- 1:12:55my what I'm doing here this my approach changes from game to
- 1:13:00game but tonight for this game what's.
- 1:13:02Tonight's approach, I haven't picked up on it.
- 1:13:06All right, try this one and see if.
- 1:13:09I think we need to start giving ourselves hints.
- 1:13:12No, I'm not. I'm not going to get our first
- 1:13:14win like that. By the way, was that six?
- 1:13:16I think that was our 6th. Right.
- 1:13:17We're running deep though. Yeah, we got four left.
- 1:13:21All right. Who are we?
- 1:13:23Stroman. Carlos.
- 1:13:24Stroman and Carlos Santana. Stroman and Carlos Santana.
- 1:13:33Think about it. All right.
- 1:13:36All right, this is our 7th pick 321 Josh.
- 1:13:46Donaldson, Andrew McCutchen and Josh Donaldson.
- 1:13:55What do we got here? What do we got here?
- 1:13:59All right, it's not cheating if we go, if we if we take a, a
- 1:14:03brief stroll backwards here. All right, it was Stroman and
- 1:14:08Santana. I said Josh Donaldson.
- 1:14:21Stroman, what is Josh Donaldson like?
- 1:14:24What does Josh Donaldson have in common with both of those guys?
- 1:14:29I don't want you to answer the question.
- 1:14:30I don't want you to answer the question, but just think about
- 1:14:33it, OK? OK, OK.
- 1:14:41So I said Josh, I said Josh Johnson, and you said Andrew
- 1:14:47McCutcheon. Yeah, I said Andrew McCutcheon.
- 1:14:49Yeah, yeah. So yeah, that's we can't go off
- 1:14:51the last one. We got to go off of this one.
- 1:14:53We got to find a new connection off of this.
- 1:14:55I know, but I'm just saying I was trying.
- 1:14:57To help where your logic. Was think think through it a
- 1:14:59little bit without directly saying.
- 1:15:01I don't know if I figured it out then.
- 1:15:02All right, what do we got now? If you knew who Carlos Santana
- 1:15:06played for right now, you would. You'd pick it up pretty easily.
- 1:15:15Deep breath. Who does he play for, right?
- 1:15:19Now I know that I figured you were like thinking about it.
- 1:15:22Who? Is he playing for?
- 1:15:25Is he a twin again? Yeah, he is.
- 1:15:28Yeah. All right, all right.
- 1:15:31So we got, we got 3 guesses left.
- 1:15:33Dude, I feel I still feel good about this round, but we need
- 1:15:36to, we need to tidy it up here. All right, Andrew McCutchen and
- 1:15:39Josh Donaldson. Yeah, Josh Donaldson.
- 1:16:00Andrew McCutchen and Josh Donaldson, I want to get it to
- 1:16:11the point where these games take like 3 hours.
- 1:16:17Like, whatever it takes, whatever it takes to get the
- 1:16:19dub, you know? I know I want it bad.
- 1:16:25Andrew McCutcheon and Josh Donna.
- 1:16:30Oh, OK. Oh, oh, think buddy.
- 1:16:36Don't give any hints, I don't want to come by our first win
- 1:16:40cheaply. Think about this.
- 1:16:42Think about what they have in common.
- 1:16:44That's the whole point of the game, yeah.
- 1:16:47Just think on that more intensely.
- 1:16:50Now just think about it more. Come on, Wrestle with that a
- 1:16:57little more. Come on.
- 1:17:01Josh Donaldson and Andrew McCutchen come.
- 1:17:14On. All right, hold on.
- 1:17:16Who? Not that this is relevant to
- 1:17:18your line of thinking here, but I I need to run through
- 1:17:24McCutcheon. It was Pittsburgh and then
- 1:17:28Philly and then back to Pittsburgh.
- 1:17:31Wasn't there another team in there?
- 1:17:33Yankees. All right, there we go.
- 1:17:39That was not my connection, but I'm willing to roll that way if
- 1:17:42that works. For you, No, no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:17:44no, no, no. That's cheating.
- 1:17:45That's what I'm trying to avoid. We got to like enter in a name.
- 1:17:48You know what I mean? Like once you got to like hit
- 1:17:50the button, be like naming. Fair.
- 1:17:51Fair. Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:17:53Then we just got to stay there. Andrew McCutchen, sorry, I feel
- 1:17:57like we're maybe circling, but I may, I may throw us off here.
- 1:18:03Yeah, I don't know if you're going to make the the connection
- 1:18:06I'm looking for. Oh man, I don't know, like I may
- 1:18:22have to hit the reset button here because that I'm I'm at a
- 1:18:25loss. I don't know.
- 1:18:26To be fair, I don't have like like a deadlock name where it's
- 1:18:30like, duh, you should choose this one.
- 1:18:32There's a group of names that I could choose from and I'm just
- 1:18:36going with this one. Dude, I don't know.
- 1:18:49I'm just going to. I've got a name.
- 1:18:51I'm just going to keep it on brand with where we've been
- 1:18:54hanging out. But it's not, it's, it's not.
- 1:18:56There's no connection. That's why I'm, that's why I'm
- 1:18:59choosing this name specifically because it is somewhat in the
- 1:19:03category of what we've been talking about, but I don't think
- 1:19:05you're going to get there. You ready?
- 1:19:07I'm at a loss, yeah. This is 8 or this is 9.
- 1:19:12Three left. This is 8.
- 1:19:15All right, I got a name. All right. 321 Joe Rowdy Teles.
- 1:19:21Yikes, you said Joe Mauer. MLB The Show.
- 1:19:28Oh wow, Dang, good connection. That's a that's a deep cut.
- 1:19:32Yeah, that was a deep cut. That's what I meant, Like stay
- 1:19:35in the Central. But yeah, all those guys have
- 1:19:37been on MLB The Show covers. Dang, that's very good.
- 1:19:40Very good. All right, so we got Rowdy Teles
- 1:19:42and Joe Mauer. Oh boy.
- 1:19:46Fun. 2 guesses left. Can we do it?
- 1:19:51And Joe Mauer, OK. Don't act like you have a name.
- 1:19:57I'm on a name. Rowdy to Lez and Joe Mauer.
- 1:20:13All right, I got a name. OK.
- 1:20:17This is going to set us up real bad for 10 if it if.
- 1:20:20They could. They could as mine as well,
- 1:20:23yeah. OK, here we go #9 guess number
- 1:20:279321 Justin Mordo. Yes, Yeah, let's go.
- 1:20:37I knew it. That's huge.
- 1:20:41I knew we were going to get it. I told you.
- 1:20:44All right. There it is.
- 1:20:45There's our first dub. Yeah, that was good.
- 1:20:50That was going to throw us way off the track.
- 1:20:52It was if. We missed that.
- 1:20:55That was good. Well, that feels great.
- 1:21:01How'd you get there? How'd you how?
- 1:21:03I just thought, OK, so we said, what did I say Rowdy to Lez and
- 1:21:08Joe. Joe Mauer.
- 1:21:10Joe Mauer. Yeah, I was just thinking like
- 1:21:13big. Yeah, big like, yeah, that's
- 1:21:16exactly what I went. And I was like, let's that was
- 1:21:20the first guy I could think of for like the twins.
- 1:21:22I couldn't think of anybody for the Pirates because it was like
- 1:21:24Rowdy. Rowdy is that guy.
- 1:21:25So yeah, twins. I was saying like big, big slow
- 1:21:30lefty. That's just you've never seen a
- 1:21:33picture of him as a baby because he's always been an old man
- 1:21:36that's. Well done.
- 1:21:38That. Feels great.
- 1:21:40I wish her honestly, I wish her winless streak would have
- 1:21:43stretched out a little longer and I've been more of like a
- 1:21:45comeback underdog story. But you know, I'll, I'll take it
- 1:21:48at this point. We're now we're just fighting to
- 1:21:50get back to 500. It's true.
- 1:21:52We're one and two, one and two on the year.
- 1:21:55We'll see how it how it continues on.
- 1:21:57Big for the brand. I guess we got to talk about the
- 1:22:01weekend games, huh? Yeah, I run through them here
- 1:22:03real quick. I got Philly in Atlanta.
- 1:22:05Game one, you got Aaron. Wait, no, what is that game one
- 1:22:09on guy? What is it?
- 1:22:11On the street continues. Oh, you already know Apple TV.
- 1:22:16How about it? We're not doing this on purpose.
- 1:22:18I can. We're not doing this on purpose.
- 1:22:20Yeah, absolutely not. Game one Aaron Nola verse Max
- 1:22:23Freed. That sounds like the one.
- 1:22:25That's the one you want to watch?
- 1:22:27That's Friday. Sorry, did I mention that's
- 1:22:29Friday at 7:20 PM? Game two Saturday Ranger Suarez
- 1:22:35versus Spencer Schwellenbach, 7:15 PM on Fox, and game 3,
- 1:22:41Michael Mercado versus Ronaldo Lopez at 1:35.
- 1:22:47Sneaky one, but Game one still sounds like the one to to dip
- 1:22:52into a little bit. And again, we're just going to
- 1:22:55continue that subscription of Apple TV for you.
- 1:22:59It's a write off. Give me Milwaukee visiting the
- 1:23:04Doyers in LA. Game one's the one Freddy
- 1:23:08Peralta against Tyler Glass now that's at 7:10 Pacific Time on
- 1:23:13Friday. Game two Saturday that's on Fox.
- 1:23:21You got Wilson going against Paxton and then Sunday return of
- 1:23:27the man continues. This is insane.
- 1:23:30How does he keep getting chances in this league?
- 1:23:33Dallas Kuykel going for the Brewers against Bobby Miller and
- 1:23:39the Dodgers on Sunday. I I think maybe now after
- 1:23:46reading that out loud, it makes me think that the Brewers are
- 1:23:50just blindly shooting in the dark for starting pitching depth
- 1:23:55and that that kind of connected this Savali dot for me.
- 1:23:59So not a great way to end it for me mentally, but just wanted to
- 1:24:05let you know where I was. Hey, rest on your victories.
- 1:24:09We picked up a dub and that does feel good.
- 1:24:11That's that's how you're going to end your week.
- 1:24:14If for anyone that wants to call us homers for our love and
- 1:24:20fandom of the Red Sox and Yankees, they're playing this
- 1:24:22weekend and we neither of us picked that series so just
- 1:24:25wanted that on record. Bang, we both are mad at our
- 1:24:28teams. Actually.
- 1:24:30You're not. Yeah, speak for.
- 1:24:31Yourself. Yeah, speak for yourself, my
- 1:24:32guy. Yeah, you're just.
- 1:24:34You're just a camp hopper between.
- 1:24:36No. Depressed Red Sox fan and
- 1:24:39delusional Red Sox fan. Nah, no camp popping with me.
- 1:24:42I've been. I've been on on board with this
- 1:24:44team since day one. Never wavered.
- 1:24:47I've never doubted this team. Not this year, not last year,
- 1:24:49not the year before. Never.
- 1:24:53Not once, ever. That's all we got.
- 1:24:57But I, I have one last thought and it, it kind of came to mind
- 1:25:00last night and it, it had me really thinking how insane are
- 1:25:05like contact lenses, you know what I mean?
- 1:25:07Like just a little piece of like latex glove that you just put in
- 1:25:12your eye and it makes you see better.
- 1:25:14It really got to me last night. I just didn't know what to do
- 1:25:16with that. We went to the.
- 1:25:19I'm glad you mentioned that wanted to share the story but
- 1:25:22figured there'd be no way to naturally transition to the
- 1:25:25story at any point and it's not really that important of a story
- 1:25:27but wanted to share. It think again.
- 1:25:29Here we went to the, we went to the pool this weekend and we
- 1:25:33walk in and they're like, hey, the the main pool is closed, but
- 1:25:37the kiddie pool is open. And we're like, OK, well,
- 1:25:40obviously we're not going to the kiddie pool because I'm 30 and
- 1:25:45that would be borderline illegal.
- 1:25:48So it's like, how long until the main pool is open?
- 1:25:51And like about like 45 minutes, 45 minutes goes by.
- 1:25:55Then went in and checked and they're like, all right, it'll
- 1:25:58be ready at like 2:30. So we had to wait like another
- 1:26:0115 minutes. So about an hour, give or take.
- 1:26:03Where's all this again? At our community pool, like
- 1:26:06right across the street. It's crazy to me being in an
- 1:26:10area where the pool isn't just like right there open
- 1:26:13constantly. Sorry.
- 1:26:15Yeah, it's too meaningful. We, we, we pay fees for this
- 1:26:18thing. So I'm crazy trying to take
- 1:26:20advantage of it. Yeah, I know.
- 1:26:21Wild. So they finally opened the pool.
- 1:26:24Meanwhile, we've, we've sat there, waited for like an hour.
- 1:26:26We, we were with some friends. We'd had lunch, whatever.
- 1:26:29We'd eaten at the little, like, umbrella table, sat there for
- 1:26:32like an hour just dripping, 'cause it was so hot out.
- 1:26:36I'm like, I just want to get in the pool.
- 1:26:37Just got to get in the pool. That's when it.
- 1:26:39Hits. They finally, Oh yeah, they
- 1:26:41finally blow the whistle. The freaking kids are running
- 1:26:43in. The adults are getting in to do
- 1:26:45their laps. Meanwhile, I jump in,
- 1:26:49immediately lose my contact. I can't see out of one of my
- 1:26:52eyes. What do you do?
- 1:26:54Do you take out the other one? Do you leave one in?
- 1:26:57I left it in. Was not a fun experience.
- 1:26:59So to your point, contacts are just a wild thing.
- 1:27:04It's a wild. Concept.
- 1:27:05You put a piece. Of plastic in your eyeball.
- 1:27:08And it's like perfect to your specific eye and you can get
- 1:27:12different ones that are customized to you.
- 1:27:15What do you what? It doesn't make any sense.
- 1:27:18Do you remember those? There's certain thing, you know
- 1:27:20what I mean? Like our, our stream will
- 1:27:22disconnect and I'll, I'll, we'll lose service for a second.
- 1:27:26But somehow like these little plastic silicone things have
- 1:27:30been around for like 20 years and they just work.
- 1:27:35We can just touch our eye and we're suddenly fixed.
- 1:27:37It's a weird thing, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:27:39It took it took up quite a bit of time in my my brain the other
- 1:27:42night. You.
- 1:27:43Remember those red contacts that Nike had for a short period of
- 1:27:46time for then it said that it it helped you picked up the the
- 1:27:49seams better on a baseball and like all all the like 13 year
- 1:27:53olds wearing them. Yeah, I think that lines up like
- 1:27:57pretty similarly with like the fighting necklace almost.
- 1:28:00Yeah, it was, yeah. It was like the same era for
- 1:28:02sure. Yeah, that was that was our era.
- 1:28:05Like it all fighting. Good old fighting.
- 1:28:08Unreal. Have a happy 4th.
- 1:28:12Yeah, you eating some dogs? I hope so.
- 1:28:19It's. Potato salad.
- 1:28:21Nobody likes potato salad. Don't even give me that one.
- 1:28:25Who likes potato salad? It's you like macaroni salad?
- 1:28:28Yeah. OK, I like potato salad.
- 1:28:31Nah, eat some jalapenos in there.
- 1:28:33Mm. Hmm.
- 1:28:35Mm. Hmm, I mom's making Mac and
- 1:28:39cheese, so that's going to be mom's Mac and cheese is.
- 1:28:44Album like it. There's nothing like it.
- 1:28:48And that goes for every mom. Every mom.
- 1:28:50Pretty sure that's why Paige said yes to marrying me.
- 1:28:52Was for my mom's Mac and cheese. But maybe some dogs too.
- 1:28:58That's it. Yeah, hanging out with the fam.
- 1:29:00Low key. Almost went to a Rockies game
- 1:29:03Friday but I was like just stay home.
- 1:29:11Probably best. Yeah, any who's.
- 1:29:15Well, I guess you're just waiting to end it now, so.
- 1:29:19That's all I got. Don't go chasing curveballs.
- 1:29:22Love you all, and as always, looking forward to talking more
- 1:29:24baseball with you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
