- 0:08Speaker 2: Well, one of the great talk show hosts in America,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Howie Carr. You should listen to him. He's on iHeart.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You can get his show there, his podcast. You should
- 0:16Speaker 2: get his books. His latest book is Mass Corruption, Volume 2.

- 0:27Speaker 2: Howie Carr, how are you doing?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Very good, Mark.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We just had our final debate in Massachusetts for Governor
- 0:35Speaker 1: Mara Healy versus Mike Minogue. And, you know, she bragged
- 0:39Speaker 1: four years ago about how she stopped two natural gas pipelines.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And last night she.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Did everything but put on a 10-gallon cowboy hat and
- 0:46Speaker 1: speak in a, you know, like T.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Boone Pickens.
- 0:50Speaker 1: She said about eight times how much she loved natural
- 0:52Speaker 1: gas and wants to bring it into the state.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I don't know when she was lying, last night or
- 0:58Speaker 1: in 2022, when she was bragging about stopping the natural
- 1:01Speaker 1: gas pipelines. But, you know, there's been a lot of
- 1:03Speaker 1: that going around nationwide, hasn't there? People, Democrats kind of
- 1:07Speaker 1: backing away from their previous positions.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Well, you know, like somebody was just saying, they're running
- 1:13Speaker 2: on affordability, these Democrats. You know, when they get in,
- 1:15Speaker 2: they're going to drive the price of gas up and
- 1:17Speaker 2: nothing's going to be affordable. So they'll just say anything
- 1:21Speaker 2: to get elected.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I thought they were happy that they were saying it's
- 1:24Speaker 1: not a big deal. When, when Biden had the price
- 1:28Speaker 1: of a gallon of gasoline up higher than it is now,
- 1:32Speaker 1: four years ago, over $ 5 a gallon, that was a,
- 1:35Speaker 1: it was a good thing because it was going to
- 1:37Speaker 1: get all the MAGA people in the deplorables out of
- 1:39Speaker 1: their nasty fossil fuel, internal combustion motor vehicles.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Right. I mean, it was a good thing. Now it's,
- 1:46Speaker 3: now it's the end of the world.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah. But the, the, They'll say whatever they got to say.
- 1:51Speaker 2: But when they get in office, they'll close down refineries,
- 1:54Speaker 2: shut down pipelines, stop drilling. They'll do everything to drive
- 1:57Speaker 2: the price of gas up. But, hey, this great candidate
- 2:02Speaker 2: we have for governor, Bruce Blakeman, he had a great
- 2:04Speaker 2: debate against Hochul. If he wins New York, what does
- 2:08Speaker 2: that mean for the Democrats to lose the state house
- 2:13Speaker 2: of New York state?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Well, for one thing, I mean, it would mean that
- 2:17Speaker 1: they couldn't get any more of these nutty bills through.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean, he could veto them, right? I mean, theoretically,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I mean, they could override the veto. But, I mean,
- 2:26Speaker 1: things didn't really get out of control in New York
- 2:29Speaker 1: State until they lost control of the Senate. You know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: they needed Americans, taxpayers needed to have, you know, one control,
- 2:38Speaker 1: a lever. And, you know, whether it was the assembly
- 2:42Speaker 1: or the Senate or the governorship, and then when they
- 2:44Speaker 1: lost all of them, that's when, that's when everything went insane.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You know, they got to get one of them back.
- 2:49Speaker 3: You know, don't you think if, if it.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Were like a 2004, 2008, you know, whatever, you know,
- 2:55Speaker 1: whatever Pataki was elected, if you had that same electorate today,
- 3:00Speaker 1: Blakeman would be running away with it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Wouldn't he?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So, but what happened to the electorate? Same thing in Massachusetts.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 3:08Speaker 1: See, I, as everywhere in the Northeast, it's, it's just,
- 3:11Speaker 1: it's totally gone. You know, I, I, I had Susan
- 3:14Speaker 1: Collins on from Maine, you know, cause I'm up in,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I'm up at Maine, all those stations. And I had
- 3:20Speaker 1: her on, I think, uh, you know, three, four weeks
- 3:22Speaker 1: ago in, in Maine. And, and she said until McCormick
- 3:26Speaker 1: was elected in, uh, in Pennsylvania in 2024, uh, It
- 3:32Speaker 1: wasn't just New England. There was no Republican senators other
- 3:36Speaker 1: than her in the whole Northeast. You had to go
- 3:39Speaker 1: down to, like, North Carolina or West Virginia to find somebody.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Explain this to me again. What happened to New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine?
- 3:48Speaker 2: They all became left-wing. Where did all these Democrats come
- 3:51Speaker 2: from up there?
- 3:53Speaker 3: Well, I think they.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I think they came from New York is mostly what happened.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Come on, let's be honest.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I mean, they may knock off the Rhino governor of
- 4:07Speaker 1: Vermont this year. They got some blow-in from parts unknown.
- 4:11Speaker 3: This woman.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And she's going to knock off Phil Scott. I mean,
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's not a terrible tragedy for the Republican Party. He
- 4:18Speaker 1: was a COVID autocrat or totalitarian. But, you know, still,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure, you know, as bad as he is,
- 4:25Speaker 1: he's better than whatever she will be.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, I think people have just
- 4:32Speaker 3: fled the states. You know, it is about affordability.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That was a big thing in the governor's race, governor's
- 4:39Speaker 1: debate last night in Massachusetts. In the first debate, Mara
- 4:43Speaker 1: Healy had, you know, had a, you know, she'd committed
- 4:48Speaker 1: a gaffe, you know, random, inadvertently telling the truth. She said,
- 4:51Speaker 1: Massachusetts is a great state to live in if you
- 4:54Speaker 1: could afford it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: So, hey, Howie Carr, your protege, Caroline Leavitt became the
- 5:03Speaker 2: press secretary. She's very young. I mean, just a kid
- 5:05Speaker 2: and was fine. What a great job she did. Now
- 5:09Speaker 2: you've got a 41-year-old woman, Katie Zakaria, who looks so shaky.
- 5:12Speaker 2: What do you think her future is?
- 5:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I remember Stephanie Grisham, that woman
- 5:19Speaker 1: that never had a press conference. I met her one
- 5:21Speaker 1: time over here in West Palm Beach, and she was terrible.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You know, this woman is going to be better than
- 5:28Speaker 1: Stephanie Grisham for sure. But, you know, I noticed, though, again,
- 5:32Speaker 1: the double standard here is amazing that, you know, she's
- 5:37Speaker 1: getting all this crap. She went to law school, but
- 5:40Speaker 1: she never could pass the bar exam. And, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and I'm not defending her for saying that she was, she,
- 5:44Speaker 1: you know, claiming to be a lawyer, but, but how
- 5:47Speaker 1: is this any different than the Egyptian in El Said in, in,
- 5:51Speaker 1: in Michigan, you know, saying over and over again that
- 5:55Speaker 1: he was a physician.
- 5:56Speaker 3: He's, he's not a physician.
- 5:57Speaker 1: He went to medical school, but he never passed the, the,
- 6:01Speaker 1: the medical exam. And he's, and he, You know, as
- 6:06Speaker 1: Roger said, if he tried to prescribe you medication, he'd
- 6:11Speaker 1: be arrested. But, you know, they just look the other way. Oh, well,
- 6:16Speaker 1: he did go to medical school. You know what, Zachary,
- 6:19Speaker 1: she did go to law school. You know, and plenty
- 6:21Speaker 1: of these Democrats, didn't Hillary Clinton flunk the bar exam once? Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I know our former governor, Deval Patrick, our former lieutenant governor,
- 6:30Speaker 1: Tim Burke, a lot. I think Democrats have a much
- 6:33Speaker 1: higher rate of failure of the bar exam than Republicans.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Zachariah is just trying to catch up the Republicans.
- 6:40Speaker 3: That's all.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Hey, but she was a little shaky, but it was
- 6:47Speaker 2: too quick. She was only there like one day and
- 6:48Speaker 2: did a briefing. You should have given her a week
- 6:50Speaker 2: or two to prepare.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Well, you know, she, she also, you know, despite being
- 6:54Speaker 1: older than, than Caroline, I mean, you know, Caroline did
- 6:58Speaker 1: go through a baptism of fire. I mean, they, they spent,
- 7:01Speaker 1: $ 20 million when she was running for Congress. First, uh,
- 7:05Speaker 1: first the Republicans, you know, uh, with a speaker McCarthy
- 7:08Speaker 1: and his guys tried to knock her out of the primary.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And then Chris Pappas spent another 10 million knocking her around. And, uh,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you know, she, she, you know, you, you, uh, you know,
- 7:18Speaker 1: she had a lot of scars. She, she was a
- 7:20Speaker 1: veteran of political combat despite her tender age.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Well, that's, that's a good point. She got through a campaign,
- 7:26Speaker 2: a debate. Oh yeah. That's a good point. That's good training.
- 7:30Speaker 2: So you're down in Palm Beach. The president is coming
- 7:32Speaker 2: there tonight. It'll be his first weekend in Palm Beach
- 7:36Speaker 2: for the season. What do you think?
- 7:38Speaker 3: Oh, that's great. I didn't even know that.
- 7:41Speaker 1: That means the planes will be flying directly over my
- 7:45Speaker 1: pool starting.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Tomorrow morning. They direct them.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I mean, Mar-a-Lago is still not open until Halloween, so
- 7:54Speaker 1: he's going to.
- 7:55Speaker 3: To be there by himself.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure the kitchen will be open for
- 7:59Speaker 1: him and all that, but the big dining room is
- 8:03Speaker 1: not open until.
- 8:04Speaker 3: The end of the month.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Oh, but tomorrow night, apparently, or actually, I think it's tonight,
- 8:09Speaker 2: or tomorrow night, they're having this big dinner, big RNC
- 8:12Speaker 2: dinner there, so it'll be open for that. But Mar-a-Lago,
- 8:15Speaker 2: it's the best when it's not open, because then you
- 8:17Speaker 2: don't have all those old ladies chasing them around the room.
- 8:20Speaker 2: You know, that, how are you, that crowd chasing them around.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's pretty nice down here. It's easier to
- 8:28Speaker 1: get a reservation. You don't have to worry about being
- 8:31Speaker 1: run over as you're crossing the street by some 90-year-old
- 8:36Speaker 1: who came down on a private jet and then an
- 8:39Speaker 1: ambulance from the airport over the Donald J.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Trump airport to the island.
- 8:44Speaker 2: So, yeah, apparently there are a lot of left-wingers who actually,
- 8:48Speaker 2: they have to go to Palm Beach, but they'll fly
- 8:50Speaker 2: to another airport. They'll go to Fort Lauderdale in Miami.
- 8:52Speaker 2: They will not land at anything called Donald J. Trump Airport.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I've heard those rumors, Mark.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I hope it's true because, you know, I always like
- 9:03Speaker 1: less congestion at the airport, you know, especially those kind
- 9:08Speaker 1: of people that are going to be angry about that.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Those are not the kind of people you want to
- 9:11Speaker 3: deal with under any circumstances.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well, Howie Carr, always great. He's got a new book out,
- 9:18Speaker 2: Mass Corruption 2. Tell everybody about the book because there's
- 9:21Speaker 2: a lot of great stuff in there.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's about corruption in Massachusetts, and there's a lot of it,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and it continues to go on.
- 9:28Speaker 3: It was, again, the subject of the debate.
- 9:32Speaker 1: One of the governor's top aides was arrested shipping 18
- 9:36Speaker 1: pounds of cocaine to her office in Springfield. I've got
- 9:40Speaker 1: all that stuff. Right now, I'm off Amazon. It's a long,
- 9:44Speaker 1: complicated story. No. But you can order the book at HowieCarrShow.com,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and you get an autographed copy.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Just order it.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's a good book, Mass Corruption Volume 2 or Mass
- 9:57Speaker 1: Corruption Volume 1, and you can get the Kennedy Ballad.
- 10:00Speaker 1: books about the Kennedy family if you wanted some nostalgia,
- 10:04Speaker 1: some Democrat scandal nostalgia.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Kennedy, those are my books. HowieCarrShow.com. Click on store.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the Kennedy books are excellent. And if you're looking
- 10:12Speaker 2: for some holiday gifts, get those books. They're great. HowieCarrShow.com.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And you can also, besides the books, you can get
- 10:19Speaker 2: a show, his podcast. Everything is at the website. Howie
- 10:23Speaker 2: Carr's show. The iHeart app.
- 10:24Speaker 3: The iHeart app.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm on the iHeart app starting 2 to 6 every afternoon. Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And you can listen anytime, too. You can get the podcast.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Just go to the iHeart app. But check out the website.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You can get the books there. HowieCarrShow.com. Howie Carr, thanks
- 10:37Speaker 2: for being with us.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Thanks, Mark. Have a good weekend. Bye-bye.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Take care. And don't forget, coming up at noon, Buck Saxon,
- 10:44Speaker 2: Clay Travis. That's a great show every day. And then
- 10:46Speaker 2: The most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity,
- 10:50Speaker 2: did that tough interview last night with Katie Zakaria. And
- 10:53Speaker 2: then at 6 o'clock, you got Jesse Kelly, the very
- 10:59Speaker 2: funny Jimmy Fallon show. Take a listen to this.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It's funny.
- 11:02Speaker 2: It's interesting. It's every night, 9 to midnight on 710WOR.
