- 0:00Sure. Yeah, I'm Jay Weinberg. I'm going to be coming down to
- 0:03Australia soon with Infectious Grooves. I'm incredibly excited, you know. It's it's
- 0:09an amazing opportunity. Obviously, anytime you get to come to Australia, but
- 0:13to come to Australia with some of your you know, musical heroes kind of
- 0:16never really happens. So to be able to do this, for them to
- 0:20ask me to be a part of this, you know, incredible chapter of
- 0:23Infectious Grooves is is kind of amazing and mind blowing and it's been a lot
- 0:27of fun so far. Well, thanks for joining us today. Jay,
- 0:30it's the pleasure to have you, mate. Pleasure to be here. I've
- 0:33got to say off the bat toom I like. Infectious Grooves have been around
- 0:35for ages and I'd never never really given them much thought before, to be
- 0:39honest, And as soon as you joined him, I thought, I've listened
- 0:41to those guys, and I've been missing out. I've been missing out for
- 0:44so many years. If fucking awesome, are they awesome? Absolutely? Well
- 0:49there's you know, it's never too late, you know, to enjoy some
- 0:52awesome music. So I'm glad you're tuned into it. I've been popping it
- 0:55all more than bro. It's giving me a nice little tea up for the
- 0:57day. Good. So Australia with Infectious Grooves soon for a run of shows
- 1:03starting on March thirty in Melbourne before heading to Brisbane, followed by stopover at
- 1:07Bar and Bay Blues Festivals, then Adelaide and finishing Sydney on April five.
- 1:11But by my reckon and mind, they've only given you one day off to
- 1:14enjoy yourself, So welcome back to tour. In life, I know,
- 1:18it's not always kind of the shame of like when when you're an American band
- 1:21coming to Australia, it's just really difficult to you know, obviously the goal
- 1:26is to you know, play music for some of the best music fans that
- 1:29are in the world, you know, for for US Americans, like you
- 1:34know, it's it's it's. It is just such a shame that Australia is
- 1:37so far away because it's kind of the consensus that it's like everybody's favorite place
- 1:41to play and favorite place to go. Uh. But it is also a
- 1:44shame that yeah, it's never really kind of baked into the tour itinerary for
- 1:48much time off. I had one, you know, one experience about like
- 1:51ten years ago or so maybe nine years ago as part of the sound Wave
- 1:56Festival where you kind of it was kind of two weekends and then you had
- 1:59like the we off in the middle that was awesome and I got to explore
- 2:02a little bit. So we'll be seeing as much as we possibly can uh
- 2:07here, but obviously our prime directive is to uh to rock in some some
- 2:12faces in uh in Australia. But yeah, you know, we we never
- 2:15have enough time, that's for sure. Yeah, But like in reality,
- 2:19you're only playing the five shows, so the trolls are this is sort of
- 2:23thing that like it's just go, go, go the whole time, and
- 2:24you don't get a chance to take it all in into on the plane playing
- 2:28home, or or do you sort of soak it up while you're in it
- 2:30and live in the moment. Well, you try to be as present as
- 2:32you can, for sure, in my experience. Yet oftentimes these tours where
- 2:37you know, you travel to a destination in a country or you know,
- 2:39new continent that you've never been to before or don't get to visit very often,
- 2:46it tends to be yeah, very it tends to go by way quicker
- 2:50than you you hope or you imagine, and you're just kind of like you're
- 2:53just trying to hold on to a you know, moving freight train. That's
- 2:57part of the excitement as well, you know, that's all, that's all
- 2:59part of it. So for me, I think, you know, my
- 3:02experience has always been like, there's a job to be done. There is
- 3:07rock music to be made, and that's what we're there to do. And
- 3:12if you know, if I can navigate all that and and execute on that
- 3:15mission, then uh, then I feel like, you know, we've done
- 3:20a good job. And then the kind of extracurricular things of hopefully being able
- 3:23to take in the you know, the culture and life and everything that Australia
- 3:27has to offer, you know, and that goes for anywhere, but now
- 3:30that we're coming to Australia, you know, we hope to to you know,
- 3:34explore as much as we can. And then yeah, oftentimes you end
- 3:37up being on the flight home just being like what was this? That was
- 3:40totally insane, you know, and that and that's part of why we we
- 3:44do this in the in the first place, you know, is to make
- 3:46those connections and and to travel to these places. We're so lucky that we
- 3:51get to do it. So so yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be
- 3:53a blast no matter what. Yeah, well before you come out here,
- 3:57Yeah, you're going to be playing two shows in the US. How you
- 4:00feel about that? Man? Like, are you nervous? You don't have
- 4:02to it on the block? Yeah? I mean, you know, I
- 4:05think, uh, I think, you know, part of being a rock
- 4:09and roll musician is like you know, you've if you're not nervous, if
- 4:12you're not if you're not you know, excited and challenging yourself in those ways,
- 4:17it's it's oftentimes something like not worth doing, you know. So for
- 4:21me, I thrive on that. I love that opportunity and that challenge to
- 4:26you know, get integrated with with guys I haven't played before, played with
- 4:30before, you know, a style of music that I feel is within the
- 4:34framework of, you know, the genres that I've been accustomed to playing for
- 4:38twenty years, but it is very specific, you know, and coming into
- 4:42it having been asked to come into infectious grooves, I knew right away that
- 4:47this would be an amazing challenge in that it's within my wheelhouse, I feel.
- 4:53But it's also something that's very particular, very specific funk and groove or
- 4:57oriented, which is fairly new for me, and I'm really excited by that.
- 5:01Uh So, Yeah, to start it off, you know, kind
- 5:03of in our backyard in uh in southern California with two shows is very exciting.
- 5:09You know, it brings it back to where the band started, and
- 5:12that's you know, it's it's a real honor to uh to kind of be
- 5:15I feel like we're you know, we're revisiting in a way that you know,
- 5:19that start of Infectious Grooves and the legacy and the people who have been
- 5:23in Infectious and for myself just to be a part of that is an incredible
- 5:28honor and uh and yeah, but it's a challenge that I'm I'm very much
- 5:31looking forward to undertaking. And now now you mentioned that, mate, like
- 5:35it right is a good point, Like it used to used to play in
- 5:39fast and heavy like being with slipped off for ten years and now are you
- 5:42coming into something that's bunking green arritted. So I don't know much about music,
- 5:46bro, but like, is it is it a mindset that you've got
- 5:47to put yourself in for some different is it technique you do different? Like
- 5:50how do you change from one start or the other. It's a good question
- 5:56if I if I knew a complete answer, you know, I wish I
- 6:00did, but you know, but the best I can describe it is,
- 6:03you know, no matter what it is, whatever, you know, whatever
- 6:08band I'm playing with, I try to just approach it from a place of
- 6:12authenticity and and have it come from the heart. Really, you know.
- 6:15That's and that's I feel like approaching it like that. That's how my favorite
- 6:19musicians approach things. And and you can kind of see that in any project,
- 6:24if someone's played with a bunch of different projects, you can kind of
- 6:27see that authenticity and that character kind of pop through in that. It's like,
- 6:30I know the way I play, and if I can tailor that to
- 6:35the specific needs of a group or a band, then I try to do
- 6:40that and and just kind of try to be myself, but within the context
- 6:45of something that's existed for you know, thirty years as Infectious has. So.
- 6:49Yeah, you know, that's that's a challenge in and of itself,
- 6:53where it's like, you know, what is what is the right way to
- 6:56approach you know, a new like a very you know, the nuances.
- 7:00It's all about the subtle nuances that make it different, you know, from
- 7:04one project to another, because to me, it's like it's all rock and
- 7:06roll. It's all you know, kind of within that umbrella. And from
- 7:11that framework you start to kind of dissect the very little nuances and subtleties of
- 7:16of what you're trying to do and and uh trying to fit the sonic character
- 7:20of a certain band. Uh. So you know, being tasked with that,
- 7:25having to you know, approach it and and execute on these songs,
- 7:30uh that that have a specific style and come from it, come to it
- 7:34from a place of a place of authenticity is very important to me. So
- 7:40you know, it's like a it's like a delicate balance of just kind of
- 7:43you know, bring in what I know, I do, you know,
- 7:46and and these guys have asked me to just kind of bring it and be
- 7:47myself and I'm I'm honored uh to to do that, you know. So
- 7:51and we've we've practiced and recorded some new music together. So you know,
- 7:57it's it's very much an exciting uh time for me. I'm just having the
- 8:01time of my life, I bet you bright. But an Infectious Grooves,
- 8:03of course, is made up of yourself. There's Mike Muir and Dean Pleasants
- 8:07from Starsauto Tendency, you got Robtu Yellow who was originally from Star SATs but
- 8:11now Metallica, Dave Kushner from Velvet Revolve a lot. It's pretty fucking impressive
- 8:16collection. Bright Like you just sit there and look around you in jammory me
- 8:18just go, look's pretty fucking good. Yeah, man, no, it
- 8:24is. It is truly unreal. I mean playing with all those guys is
- 8:26an absolute honor. And you know, whenever you get into a room with
- 8:31new guys and and you're you know, you're playing together for the first time,
- 8:35there is that like that crazy energy in the room of just kind of
- 8:37feeling each other out and whatever. You know, it's a rhythm section,
- 8:43I'll tell you. Finding the pocket with with Robert Trhio is like, that's
- 8:46one of the greatest, most exciting things I've ever been fortunate enough to experience
- 8:50in my life. Like as a drummer, that's just unreal, you know.
- 8:56So, so that's been incredibly exciting. Play with with all these guys
- 8:58has been awesome, and it really feels like it really feels like we've just
- 9:03kind of gelled right off the bat, you know, and only looking forward
- 9:07to this tour is like, you know, I don't I don't know if
- 9:09we'll have another opportunity just because everybody has a lot of very busy schedules.
- 9:15So you know, we're just kind of looking at this as a great opportunity
- 9:18to celebrate Infectious and uh and you know, give it a little new attitude
- 9:22and and some new sounds, some new new song. Yes, it's like
- 9:28it's super super cool and yeah, playing with those guys is an absolute treat.
- 9:33Yeah, now said The first show is in Melbourne on March of thirtieth,
- 9:37mate, So excuse me, it's only going to be your third every
- 9:39gig with Infectious Greens, Right, So what do you like at the back
- 9:43there? Like are you are you sitting at the back just concentrating on what
- 9:46you're doing, or are you looking around and and loving life like it's it's
- 9:50it gonna be pretty hard for you. Yeah, it's a bit of both.
- 9:52I mean, you know, like with anything, any new thing,
- 9:54you're kind of finding your sea legs, you know, at when you when
- 9:58you first start out. So yeah, you're you know I'm kind of exploring
- 10:01this territory and feeling it out, feeling literally, you know, the different
- 10:05grooves that I'm now playing songs that I've never played before. That's very exciting.
- 10:11Uh. But yeah, the fact that you know, it's come together
- 10:16so well and kind of effortlessly, all all at once, it's uh,
- 10:20it is like I am able to lose myself in, you know, in
- 10:24in those spaces in some certa in certain songs. That's really exciting to to
- 10:30already be at that place with like a new group of guys. You know,
- 10:33it's in my experience that's a difficult kind of place to find. So
- 10:37to find that in our first like two jam sessions is like incredibly exciting.
- 10:43Yeah, I'm interested to I too. Bro Like, did they encourage you
- 10:46to bring your own flair and started the drum still or did they sort of
- 10:50give you a probt it's to sort of work within the infictious great sound.
- 10:54Yeah, well that was kind of you know, as as Mike and I
- 10:56were speaking. You know, Mike and I are our friendship goes back to
- 11:01some of my first tours with Slipknot were with Suicidal and uh, and we
- 11:05play with them you know, we would play with them all the time.
- 11:09So Mike and I kind of have an understanding and and uh have been friends
- 11:13for a little while, and when he approached me to do this, that
- 11:16was kind of what he told me, is like, we want you to
- 11:20bring you you know, like uh, I mean, look, they've you
- 11:22know, Infectious has had uh has had a king's ransom of some of the
- 11:26best drummers on earth, you know, playing and Affectious. So you know,
- 11:31looking to what those guys have done, and I'm so inspired. You
- 11:35know, all those guys have been my inspiration since I was a young person
- 11:37just figuring out, you know, how to play drums. But so you
- 11:43know, like I, like I said before, you know, approaching it
- 11:46from that place of authenticity. I think that was one thing that resonated with
- 11:50Mike as I was speaking to him, getting integrated within this is like do
- 11:54you come at this with what you've got? And you know, obviously that's
- 11:58like, you know, the songs are the songs, So we play the
- 12:01songs. But it's like, I'm you know, I'm not gonna sound like
- 12:05another guy who's been Infectious before, because that's not the goal. You know,
- 12:11the goal isn't to replicate that. The goal is to just come at
- 12:13it from a place of sincerity, in a place of like true you know,
- 12:18have a true kind of true hearted approach to h to playing this music.
- 12:24And and so when when they brought me on board with that, that
- 12:28kind of spoke to my sensibility of like, I know how to approach this.
- 12:31You know, it's it's about understanding where the songs come from and then
- 12:35figuring out in my own way, how I approach that and have it come
- 12:39across, you know, from a place of sincerity and authenticity. And here's
- 12:43the truth that Mark's forteen year old son's pretty much instrumental behind getting getting into
- 12:48the bed. Yeah, yeah, from what I from what you know,
- 12:52we've we've talked about. Yeah, you know, because I think Mike was
- 12:56unsure. You know, he saw that I had hip surgery a couple months
- 13:00ago, and I think he was unsure about you know, I'm not sure
- 13:03what his playing schedule is like when he's going to be back on the kit.
- 13:09You know, my goal has always been, uh to recover from this
- 13:13surgery hopefully, and like back when I got the surgery originally in November,
- 13:20I had hoped that I'd be on back on the drums, getting getting my
- 13:22sea legs back around like mid March, and then be ready to like play
- 13:26the way I really do by like mid April. But I'm really pleased that,
- 13:33you know, through rigorous you know, physical therapy and just really doing
- 13:37all the right things that I've been told by my doctors to do, I've
- 13:41been ahead of schedule. So I've already been back on the drums for a
- 13:45month and uh, and that's felt awesome. But he didn't know, so
- 13:48he you know, his son was asking like, I don't you know,
- 13:50I don't know if Jay's ready to play, but like you should hit up
- 13:54Jay to see if he would do this, and so so Mike was like,
- 13:58maybe he will be ready by then, know by uh by mid March
- 14:01to to play some shows. So when he when he called me to do
- 14:03it, I mean I was still on crutches, Like I was still you
- 14:07know, I was still kind of getting used to my physical therapy, you
- 14:11know, schedule and everything. But right then and there, I was like,
- 14:15yes, I will do it. I will find a way to do
- 14:16it. I'll talk to my doctor and make sure he's cool with me doing
- 14:20it, but I'm sure it's gonna be cool and uh and yeah, so
- 14:24you know, I'm very pleased that that the whole your family has it's been
- 14:28an effort to get me on board. So I'm very grateful for that.
- 14:31You want to buy that, get a packet of baseball cards or something.
- 14:33Bran absolutely absolutely, yeah, we we we had a We had a great
- 14:39you know, great hug about it for sure. When I got to the
- 14:41practice, I bet so the other subject give you surgery Bright, how did
- 14:46it go? Is it some of that's gonna heal like the time when you
- 14:48be back to one hundred percent or is it? Is it gonna have a
- 14:50lingering effect on you for life? No? I mean I feel really good
- 14:54right now, you know it? Uh, it was a it was a
- 15:00It was an injury that was like sustained over years of honestly from running.
- 15:05Was the thing that did it that that hurt me the most? Exercise?
- 15:11Yeah, yeah, no, And that's my favorite way of exercising because when
- 15:13you're on tour, you can just like I'm going to run an hour that
- 15:16way and an hour back and that was like my favorite way to exercise.
- 15:20But in about the summer of twenty seventeen or eighteen, I would go for
- 15:24a run and like five minutes in I'd be in like debilitating pain on my
- 15:28left side. And I had no idea why, but I found out that
- 15:31I had a misshapen bone. My femur as it goes into my hip was
- 15:35misshapen. It had a little bit of extra bone. So as I was
- 15:39running and when I was younger, I used to kickbox, that motion would
- 15:45bash up against the labrum of my left hip and so it tore it over
- 15:50time. And and so I, you know, got got together with a
- 15:54doctor who does this kind of operation all the time on athletes and stuff,
- 15:58and he was like, hey, I do this kind of operation all the
- 16:00time. You should get it done while you're younger than as opposed to risking
- 16:06your joint deteriorating, you know, by not doing anything about this. So
- 16:11it's always been a goal to do it, but it was always a you
- 16:14know, a moving target for about six years, you know, as I
- 16:18had a very rigorous touring and recording schedule, I didn't really have a period
- 16:22of time because it was you know, as it was clear to me I
- 16:26would need a period of between four to six months to fully recover, you
- 16:32know, luckily to this point, it's been three and a half months,
- 16:37and I feel really good. I'm able to play obviously. You know,
- 16:41when you're on crutches for six weeks, you lose a tremendous amount of power
- 16:45in your legs. So I'm just kind of you know, I'm getting that
- 16:48back gradually and just doing all the right things. But but no, that's
- 16:51the goal is to you know, get back to one hundred percent. That's
- 16:53why I did the surgery, you know, was so I could get back
- 16:56to running, get back to doing all the things that I love without having
- 17:00pain in my life. So so yeah, so I already feel really great.
- 17:07My physical therapist says I should be back to running by July, which
- 17:11is which is really nice. And and yeah, that's the idea is like
- 17:15having done it at you know, a relatively young age, I don't run
- 17:19the risk of having done further damage to the joint. And and yes,
- 17:26I'm really really happy to have you know, bitten the bullet. Yeah it
- 17:29sucked to do it, but like you know, as I'm here now able
- 17:32to you know, with a with a greater range of motion and just getting
- 17:36everything back, I'm so pleased to have done it. Yeah, just to
- 17:40plorify you, Mike, Like, are you actually a member of Infectious Girds
- 17:42now or are you just sort of filling in the time being. I'm not
- 17:47really sure. You know, I don't really put a name to anything like
- 17:49that. You know, like, as far as I'm aware, you know,
- 17:52this is the only tour that we can do. You know, everybody's
- 17:56got such busy schedules, so I don't really know if you know, if
- 17:59those guys are open to doing more, and and you know, we had
- 18:02a great time in the studio this past weekend putting together a new song,
- 18:07so you know, if those guys say, hey, we want to do
- 18:10more shows, Hey we want to record more, I'm absolutely into it because
- 18:14it's you know, it's such a such a thrill playing with those guys.
- 18:18But we'll see, I mean, it's so new, you know, it's
- 18:19such a new friendship and relationship that it's like we're all just really enjoying the
- 18:25excitement of it being this fresh new thing. So whatever's down the road,
- 18:29I'm certainly into it if those guys are, and you know, we'll just
- 18:32see small on your face says it all. Brouh you don't even have to
- 18:34sign any woods just as small on your face as it all. Yeah,
- 18:37I'm pumped, man, I mean, you know, there's no better way
- 18:41to you know, come off the heels of like a you know, my
- 18:42first ever surgery that had me laid up for months. You know there's no
- 18:48better way to come out of that than to be going to Australia with Infectious
- 18:52Grooves? Are you kidding me? Like I'm I'm incredibly grateful and it's it's
- 18:56just such a you know, such an amazing thing to be a part of.
- 18:59So I'm incredibly happy, excited, gracious all of it. Now,
- 19:03you brought this up a couple of timest so we'll explore it now. But
- 19:07what each has emerged of you guys in the studio with a strong hint that
- 19:11there is a song being done is can you confirm or Tony is it new
- 19:15music? I can confirm. Yeah, there's new Infectious Grooves music on the
- 19:19way. I hope it'll be out before the tour. Well, you know,
- 19:26I'm not sure. I'm not sure how you know how all that stuff
- 19:27goes. I know, you know obviously it always takes so always takes longer
- 19:32than we always want, you know, to We always want, like the
- 19:34song that we just made to be available immediately. You know, that's just
- 19:40always the case. But there's you know, uh, it's got to get
- 19:42worked on. But no, there is new stuff. It's it's awesome.
- 19:47I'm super pumped on it, you know, like we like we spoke about
- 19:51earlier. It's like, you know, you find the sonic character of a
- 19:53new band, and it is that kind of balance of like you know,
- 19:59respect doing the lineage of the band and where it's been and and stuff.
- 20:03But like, you know, having been asked to come in this and approach
- 20:06it from a place the only way I know how, which is just to
- 20:08be myself. That was a cool little you know, puzzle kind of problem
- 20:12to figure out how to how to do that. How would I approach you
- 20:17know, how would I approach drumming on a new, infectious groove song.
- 20:19So with what we came up with, I'm incredibly excited. It's kind of
- 20:23a new style for me, you know, which is which is exciting.
- 20:27I think for any musician to be able to kind of branch out and show
- 20:30a little bit of versatility and some different stuff than I've ever really been able
- 20:33to play before. So yeah, I'm very excited for people to hear it.
- 20:37Now. Don't just change this with that. My insight, it's different,
- 20:41something you've never done before. Elaborate, tell what what what can we
- 20:44expect? I mean, you know, God, I mean it's it's difficult
- 20:49to to put it into words just because, like you know, it's all
- 20:55about the music. That's why we play the music is because there aren't words
- 20:57to describe how how it is, you know, what the feeling is or
- 21:03whatever. That's what the music is there for. But you know, I
- 21:06think I think as people have been kind of putting together and we've tried kind
- 21:10of teasing it a little bit of what, you know, what we're what
- 21:12we're doing with, you know, some fly on the wall footage of us
- 21:17jamming for the first time. You know, I think as far as my
- 21:21contribution is, like you know, I can't I can't escape being, you
- 21:26know, being the drummer that I am. I I always will bring you
- 21:30know, the things that I like to play about the drums into it.
- 21:33But that but that being said, you know, there are I like to
- 21:37think that, you know, as any musician should, having a wide variety
- 21:44of of inputs and inspirations and stuff that filters into the music that we then
- 21:48record and and play, you know. So I feel like I'm getting to
- 21:52show some more influences than I've ever been able to show before. I'm showing
- 21:56my you know, my Bill Warred appreciation in uh in some moments my who
- 22:03else amight kind of tapping into with uh? With this God, It's it's
- 22:10difficult to to put a name to it, but like there's definitely some bill
- 22:14Ward moments that I was like, Wow, like this is where I'm gonna
- 22:15you know, this is where I'm gonna show you know, my inner bill
- 22:18Ward kind of you know, that's pretty exciting. But that being said,
- 22:25like it's it. It takes twists and turns and it's it's a pretty awesome
- 22:29you know, eclectic showing from uh from infectious. So yeah, it's uh,
- 22:34it's a wild thing to be a part of. As you can probably
- 22:37tell. Like I'm still buzzing from it. I still kind of you know,
- 22:41we we came up with it basically on the day, you know,
- 22:44in the studio we were it was. It was awesome to have Adam Siegel
- 22:48involved, who obviously Infectious Grooves fans are you know they know Adam, excuse
- 22:53me to so to have all these guys involved in, everybody in the studio
- 22:57just kind of getting our hands dirty and and making it all happen pretty much
- 23:00within the space of a day. You know, we had an arrange,
- 23:04we had a basic arrangement kind of in mind, but then throwing it all
- 23:08together and seeing what, you know, what would happen. That's so exciting
- 23:11to me, Like those are my favorite moments in the studio where you really
- 23:15you know, you enter and the goal is to get something inspired and instinctual
- 23:21and uh, and that's what we left the studio with. So I'm very
- 23:25excited for everybody to hear it well. And then at this SiGe, is
- 23:27it just a one off single or you plany on maybe extended to an album?
- 23:32We'll see, uh. For right now, we got one song,
- 23:36you know, I think that's a good little litmus test for you know,
- 23:38everybody's uh uh, you know our chemistry and and you know what we're doing
- 23:45here. I think that was just a great idea by those guys to be
- 23:48like, you know, obviously we're going to play you know that the Infectious
- 23:52hits that everybody wants to hear. But what would it be like if we
- 23:55came with something new, you know? And that's that's just like incredibly exciting
- 23:57to me because I'm always is the most amped up about new stuff, you
- 24:03know, and to be coming up with new ideas and trying to push something
- 24:07forwards. So the fact that that's on their radar as well is really cool.
- 24:12And to be, you know, to be involved in it the way
- 24:15I have been so far is like been such an honor and and yeah,
- 24:21it seems like, you know, it's all it's all coming together and you
- 24:25know, but I think one song is a good, you know, litmus
- 24:27test for people to uh to hear this iteration of infectious good. Yeah.
- 24:32So what's the things for Jay Weinberg after this tour? Mate? Like it's
- 24:34been a well wind ten years, but especially last six months, where you
- 24:38bro, are you going to take time out yourself where you're just gonna plunge
- 24:41straight back into something? I mean, I'm I'm always I'm I'm kind of
- 24:47I'm always looking for, you know, the next thing to do. I'm
- 24:51somebody who doesn't really do well with downtime. I always like to be creatively
- 24:56active in some way or another kind of all the time. I'm uh,
- 25:00you know, I'm sure, I'm sure my dogs and my wife are losing
- 25:06their patients with how active I like to be. But yeah, with that
- 25:10said, no, it's you know, I'm I'm very much excited and looking
- 25:12forward to a year of of a lot of new things, lots of things
- 25:18I haven't been able to do for years, uh you know, and and
- 25:22and get to branch out in ways that I haven't before. So that's all
- 25:27very exciting, exciting things that are yet to be announced, I'll say,
- 25:33and uh and yeah, and I'm also you know, it's some of my
- 25:37favorite stuff is is doing things that are a little bit more uh independent,
- 25:41and a little bit more just kind of in your face. I suppose it's
- 25:45like a way to put it, like I've I've worked with my uh the
- 25:51drum company that I play, s JC Custom Drums. We've done a lot
- 25:55of di y events where it, uh, it's kind of an opportunity need
- 26:00to to bring like a large scale kind of rock show and just distill it
- 26:07to you know, what we can do in a drum clinic setting, but
- 26:11make it more than a clinic sort of thing. So you know, I've
- 26:15I've been asked quite like quite a number of times about you know, the
- 26:18twists and turns of my career thus far, and how like, you know,
- 26:25people often kind of are like, okay, so like Slipnot on one
- 26:29hand and Bruce Springsteen in the E Street Band on the upper hand, and
- 26:33like, how do you do how does one bridge that gap of doing both
- 26:37and making it, like I said before, approaching both from a place of
- 26:41authenticity. So I'm I'm kind of embarking this year on doing a lot of
- 26:47those independent things where it kind of you know, I want to share in
- 26:52those things, and and looking to the future the amazing things that I'm a
- 26:56part of, you know, infectious and beyond. I'm gonna be uh yeah,
- 27:00setting up a lot of kind of independent stuff like that, which is
- 27:03incredibly exciting for me. And yeah, there are there are projects in the
- 27:08pipeline that the world should be finding out pretty soon. So uh so we'll
- 27:12just keep you posting
