- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's take some calls.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Let's go to Larry in Cranford, New Jersey. Larry, how
- 0:17Speaker 2: you doing?
- 0:19Speaker 3: Hey, Mark.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:19Speaker 3: You must remember it was a year, year and a
- 0:21Speaker 3: half ago when Elise Stefanik grilled Kathy Hochul, and Hochul
- 0:26Speaker 3: was stupefied. You remember that?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yeah, back in those congressional hearings.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Why aren't the Republicans using that footage for campaign ads?
- 0:37Speaker 3: They are crazy for not using that.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I don't know if they might be using them, but
- 0:41Speaker 2: if they do, they'll be using them upstate. They won't
- 0:43Speaker 2: be using them in the city.
- 0:45Speaker 1: They should use it all over.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't work that way. You waste a lot
- 0:50Speaker 2: of money that way. You've got to target the ads. Remember,
- 0:54Speaker 2: it's not just New York City. You're running ads in
- 0:56Speaker 2: Buffalo for a Buffalo audience. You're running ads in Syracuse
- 0:59Speaker 2: for a Syracuse audience. Albany, Albany, you know, they got
- 1:02Speaker 2: their own TV stations. The stations here in New York,
- 1:05Speaker 2: only seen around the New York City area. Let's go
- 1:08Speaker 2: to Greg in Jersey City. Greg, how you doing?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:13Speaker 3: It's interesting how residuals.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Greg, you got to be within 6,000 feet of the phone.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You're like 500 miles from the phone. Nobody can hear
- 1:22Speaker 2: a word you're saying.
- 1:24Speaker 5: You can't hear me?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Now we can hear you. What were you doing before?
- 1:26Speaker 6: I don't know. Huh.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Look at this. He's going to try to convince us
- 1:32Speaker 2: that nothing changed. Obviously, you weren't on the talking into
- 1:34Speaker 2: the phone before.
- 1:36Speaker 3: All right. Fine. I was talking residuals and how they've
- 1:39Speaker 3: changed over the years.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I did hear what Anson Williams was talking about.
- 1:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 3: But you think about some of the stars like James
- 1:46Speaker 3: Garner or Jack Klugman or even Eric Estrada who had
- 1:50Speaker 3: to sue for their studio in order to get the
- 1:53Speaker 3: residuals they were promised.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Well, you've got to remember, it's different for everybody. If
- 1:58Speaker 2: you're James Garner, and he helped create the Rockford files,
- 2:01Speaker 2: he might have had a little piece of it. If
- 2:03Speaker 2: you're Eric Estrada, you're not going to have a piece
- 2:05Speaker 2: of chips. If they don't use you, they'll use somebody else.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You're not always entitled to these residuals.
- 2:12Speaker 3: But like Lee Majors, when he had the fall guy,
- 2:15Speaker 3: he actually got a producer credit.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, some people negotiate that. Dick Van Dyke actually got
- 2:21Speaker 2: a piece of the Dick Van Dyke show. But the
- 2:23Speaker 2: cast members don't get it. If you're one of the big,
- 2:25Speaker 2: big stars and they really want you, that's part of
- 2:28Speaker 2: the deal. They'll give you a little ownership. You'll get
- 2:30Speaker 2: a piece of the show. Let's go to Mike in St.
- 2:34Speaker 3: James.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Mike, how are you doing?
- 2:36Speaker 6: Fine, thank you. What's the matter?
- 2:39Speaker 2: It sounds like somebody's chasing you. You're out of breath.
- 2:41Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 2:43Speaker 6: If federal law supersedes state law, can't Donald tell the governor,
- 2:50Speaker 6: unless you start cooperating with ICE, we're withholding federal law.
- 2:54Speaker 2: He's already done that. That's already happening. It's happening now.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Let's go to Pete in Bergen County. Pete, how you doing?
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Mark, hi. Do you remember the Jewish Defense League
- 3:05Speaker 3: with Mayor Ghani?
- 3:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, whatever happened to those guys? I think he got assassinated.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Kahani was assassinated at the hotel on Lexington. You know
- 3:16Speaker 2: I was supposed to be there that night. Somebody invited
- 3:18Speaker 2: me to go watch him speak. He was supposed to
- 3:21Speaker 2: be such an incredible speaker. They gave me the wrong hotel.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I kind of remember Channel 5 used to cover him
- 3:29Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they gave me the wrong hotel. You know, Lexington,
- 3:33Speaker 2: like 50th, 49th, there's like four hotels in a row.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They gave me the wrong hotel. I got there too late.
- 3:39Speaker 2: He was already assassinated. Now, it turns out that some
- 3:44Speaker 2: of the lunatic terrorists who assassinated Maya Kahane had ties
- 3:52Speaker 2: to the people that bombed the World Trade Center a
- 3:55Speaker 2: few years later. There was actually a connection. It was
- 3:57Speaker 2: kind of the same cell. Let's go to Chris in Manhattan. Chris,
- 4:02Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark. I'm okay.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Before we continue, he's panicking. He's going to say, we're
- 4:09Speaker 2: going to lose the midterms. Go ahead.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Okay, we're going to lose the midterms. We're going to
- 4:15Speaker 1: lose the midterms.
- 4:16Speaker 4: But listen, before you were saying that even if we
- 4:18Speaker 4: lose the Senate and the.
- 4:19Speaker 1: House, Trump will be okay? Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 4:23Speaker 4: The country's going to be screwed.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, you'll still have Trump running the country. But you've
- 4:28Speaker 2: got to remember, do you do this with everything else
- 4:30Speaker 2: in life or is it just politics where everything's negative?
- 4:33Speaker 4: It's just politics because he's– listen, I voted for him
- 4:36Speaker 4: three times, but he's screwed up so badly in the
- 4:39Speaker 4: last six months.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And nobody's calling him out on it. In what way?
- 4:43Speaker 4: Okay, he started the Iran war without a way to
- 4:46Speaker 4: get out of it.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, there is a way to get out of it.
- 4:48Speaker 2: You've got to just finish it. He's holding off on
- 4:50Speaker 2: that until after the election. You had to do that
- 4:52Speaker 2: because you can't let them have a nuclear weapon.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Well, I agree, but they still have it, and we're
- 4:58Speaker 4: out of missiles.
- 4:59Speaker 1: And you're going to say we're not.
- 5:00Speaker 2: We're not out of missiles. We're not out of missiles.
- 5:03Speaker 2: We have plenty of missiles. See, part of the problem
- 5:06Speaker 2: is you fall for all this fake news.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So it's not true.
- 5:14Speaker 4: We have an unlimited supply of missiles to give to
- 5:17Speaker 4: everybody and protect ourselves.
- 5:18Speaker 2: We've got plenty of missiles. So if they print something
- 5:21Speaker 2: in the New York Times, you always fall for it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: That's the problem.
- 5:24Speaker 1: No, no, I don't read the New York Times.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Believe it or not, there's two shows I make a
- 5:28Speaker 4: point to listen to.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's you and somebody else on Saturdays.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Who's the other one?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Dick Morris, but that's comedic.
- 5:35Speaker 2: No, Dick Morris is pretty good. Dick Morris.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, I like the show.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I mean, last time I spoke to you, you said, oh,
- 5:41Speaker 4: I guarantee you he calls up every radio station and
- 5:43Speaker 4: complains about this and complains.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Absolutely not. You're it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 5:47Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You're my favorite show still.
- 5:49Speaker 2: You can listen to other shows. Sean Hannity's pretty good.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon. You ever listen to Jimmy Fallon?
- 5:54Speaker 1: I listen to shows.
- 5:56Speaker 4: The guys that come on after you, I can't listen
- 5:58Speaker 4: to that.
- 5:59Speaker 6: I mean.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Well, they're doing pretty well. They got 10 million listeners now.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:03Speaker 4: You know, a lot of it's out of loyalty to Rush.
- 6:05Speaker 4: But that show to me is like.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I know, but they were.
- 6:08Speaker 1: They're rich and famous and home shopping now.
- 6:10Speaker 2: They're doing the Rush show from Rush's studio with Rush's engineer.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It's Rush's team that the people that ran the Rush
- 6:18Speaker 2: show picked these two guys. So if you're going to
- 6:20Speaker 2: be loyal to Rush, you should be listening to them.
- 6:23Speaker 4: You remember the guy that used to fill in for Rush?
- 6:25Speaker 4: Sometimes he would say he was from Ice Station Zebra,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and I think it was an Australian actor.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that guy. He's a very good guy. He's
- 6:31Speaker 2: up in New Hampshire. I keep meaning to get him
- 6:32Speaker 2: on the show.
- 6:34Speaker 4: I mean, he was such a nice guy.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And if you could get Michael.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Riedel back on.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what the circumstances were that
- 6:39Speaker 1: he left.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I don't know, but Michael Riedel kind of disappeared. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 2: we'll track him down. Well, who's the guy that filled
- 6:43Speaker 2: in for Rush? Really nice guy. Very smart.
- 6:45Speaker 1: He was really nice. He was very smart. He was interesting.
- 6:51Speaker 2: We're going to get him back. I keep meaning to
- 6:53Speaker 2: call that guy and get him on the show.
- 6:54Speaker 1: We'll do that.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing?
- 6:58Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. Mark, I don't know why,
- 7:02Speaker 5: given the fact that, as Michael Goodwin pointed out, that
- 7:05Speaker 5: Mayor Mondami has spit in the face of every ethnic
- 7:09Speaker 5: group that is not Indian or Muslim in the city
- 7:14Speaker 5: of New York, I don't know why Donald Trump continues
- 7:18Speaker 5: to kiss Mondami's ring. And before you say he has
- 7:21Speaker 5: business here, Mark, he has business here, but don't shoot
- 7:25Speaker 5: the line. His top managers and his children are running
- 7:29Speaker 5: his business. A caller called in Rob Astorino's show Saturday afternoon,
- 7:35Speaker 5: and she said the same thing. And Rob said that
- 7:39Speaker 5: Donald Trump has this desire to be liked. What is
- 7:43Speaker 5: there to be liked?
- 7:44Speaker 2: I think if you watch Donald Trump, he does not
- 7:47Speaker 2: have a desire to be liked. Nobody goes around making
- 7:51Speaker 2: more enemies than this guy.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Then why?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Why what?
- 7:55Speaker 5: Why kiss Mondami's ring?
- 7:57Speaker 2: He doesn't kiss his ring, but he does have a
- 8:00Speaker 2: desire to always make a deal with somebody. That's his first.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Make what deal? New York's in the worst shape.
- 8:05Speaker 2: But he's trying to make a deal. Well, that's all
- 8:06Speaker 2: the more reason.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Me personally, I haven't benefited from the Trump presidency one iota.
- 8:14Speaker 5: And in fact.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Well, you actually have.
- 8:16Speaker 3: No, I haven't.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you have.
- 8:18Speaker 3: How?
- 8:19Speaker 5: How have I benefited? There's no illegals in my neighborhood. Oh,
- 8:23Speaker 5: the only thing that Trump hasn't done in my neighborhood,
- 8:27Speaker 5: it's filled with illegal construction workers everywhere.
- 8:33Speaker 2: We'll get you Joe Biden back. Will that make you happy?
- 8:36Speaker 5: I was paying for my fuel and energy. I was
- 8:39Speaker 5: paying much less money.
- 8:40Speaker 1: How about that?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Actually, during the Biden administration, it was.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Donald Trump, when I last pulled up my car a
- 8:47Speaker 5: couple of weeks ago, it was $ 4. 69.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Okay, but remember, a dollar of that is state and local.
- 8:52Speaker 2: That's not all, Trump. You can't blame... Mark, please. Anyway, Vincent,
- 8:55Speaker 2: there's no winning this argument. Since it's impossible to win
- 8:58Speaker 2: the argument, we must end it immediately because we got
- 9:01Speaker 2: to go to John McLaughlin.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 9:02Speaker 2: He's coming up next. The greatest pollster in the world.
- 9:05Speaker 2: John McLaughlin just ahead on 710WOR.
