- 0:00Speaker 1: I follow her on substack, where she's got just columns
- 0:03Speaker 1: and videos and podcasts, interviews, all sorts of stuff, a
- 0:06Speaker 1: lot of content and culture dot substack dot com and culture.
- 0:10Speaker 2: How you doing fantastic? How are you, Mark Simone? I
- 0:14Speaker 2: miss talking to you last couple week.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but what a first week of twenty twenty six.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Look at all that's happened in one week. You got
- 0:21Speaker 1: rid of Tim Waltz, Madureau everything.
- 0:23Speaker 2: What do you think I know, Yeah, Chump's not letting
- 0:26Speaker 2: the grass grow under his feet. We have a short
- 0:28Speaker 2: amount of time. I think it's fantastic. I have a
- 0:31Speaker 2: column coming out on it later. I want to go
- 0:33Speaker 2: back to the era of a semi competent CIA, which
- 0:39Speaker 2: we haven't had recently but may have now, installing puppet
- 0:43Speaker 2: governments throughout Latin America. They're obviously incapable of governing themselves,
- 0:48Speaker 2: and things were going great when the CIA and the
- 0:52Speaker 2: state departments and John Foster Dulles were running things, knocking
- 0:56Speaker 2: out the incompetence, I mean, the problem. George Penn, the
- 1:01Speaker 2: legendary diplomat, took a tour through Latin America, knowing the
- 1:06Speaker 2: strategic importance to the US and basically concluded these people
- 1:10Speaker 2: are incapable of governing themselves. We should take all measures.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Is this will be a problem for the US. We
- 1:18Speaker 2: shouldn't worry about democratic niceties that we would not accept
- 1:22Speaker 2: in this country. And that was followed up until liberals
- 1:26Speaker 2: got the idea that's, oh no, they're just as good
- 1:29Speaker 2: at self governance as we are. Well, obviously they aren't.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Over and over again you get the same pattern. I
- 1:36Speaker 2: mean Venezuela for example, which I've written about a few times.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It was the people, i e. Peasants who keep voting
- 1:45Speaker 2: for these communists who promised to steal from the rich
- 1:49Speaker 2: and give them all their money, which they proceed to do,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and then the country is out of money. They can't
- 1:53Speaker 2: get loyal out of the ground. No, there has to
- 1:57Speaker 2: be a paternalistic relationship to between the United States and
- 2:01Speaker 2: Latin America. And it's weird that the media is acting
- 2:05Speaker 2: as if we have no idea what this means to install.
- 2:09Speaker 2: No that we'll be running things, No no boots on
- 2:12Speaker 2: the ground, no nation building. We just have our own,
- 2:17Speaker 2: our own US backed ruler to save the people from themselves.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but who are we to complain about their government?
- 2:27Speaker 1: We just elected Kathy Hockel and Mom Donnie, so who
- 2:30Speaker 1: are we to talk?
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yes, well, New York should sit this one out.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And Mom Donnie just put this woman in charge of housing.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And apparently one time she said home ownership is white
- 2:44Speaker 1: supremacy and we must see.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Private press read in the New York Post. She owns
- 2:51Speaker 2: a one point seven million dollar home in Tennessee. So
- 2:55Speaker 2: at least there's no hypocrisy from the left. No, not ever.
- 2:59Speaker 2: But wow, that is this is this is not going
- 3:02Speaker 2: to be good for housing in New York. It probably,
- 3:06Speaker 2: as we've discussed before, these rent control measures just to
- 3:10Speaker 2: invariably drive up the price of housing and limit the supply.
- 3:15Speaker 2: As you have landlords who were forced to just walk
- 3:18Speaker 2: away from their properties when the taxes and maintenance fees
- 3:23Speaker 2: are more than what they are allowed to charge and
- 3:26Speaker 2: rent by law. I mean, how long are they supposed
- 3:30Speaker 2: to keep losing money every month? They just walk away
- 3:34Speaker 2: and there goes there goes more housing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, don't you feel bad for the left wing,
- 3:40Speaker 1: the Democrats right now? These liberals, because remember they had
- 3:43Speaker 1: to all go out and buy Ukrainian flags, then they
- 3:45Speaker 1: had to go buy Hamas flags. Then they had to
- 3:48Speaker 1: buy Mexican flags. Then they had to get Somali flags.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Now they got to go get venezueland flags.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's rough, at least I prefer it to. I love
- 3:58Speaker 2: when they have these left is pro tests and you
- 4:01Speaker 2: know they'll have one sharp George Soros type instructing them
- 4:06Speaker 2: all go buy an American flag. Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: For Republican it's easy, just by one American flag except
- 4:14Speaker 1: for life, that's all you need.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They probably have their American flags if they're Republicans.
- 4:20Speaker 1: H And what about Tim Watz? Is that the silliest
- 4:22Speaker 1: guy you've ever seen? Did you ever think it would
- 4:24Speaker 1: be over this fast for him?
- 4:28Speaker 2: Not totally surprised. Man, he was a boob from the
- 4:31Speaker 2: moment he showed up. Uh, it's it's it's a maybe
- 4:39Speaker 2: a teams a bit annoying that. I mean, you did
- 4:42Speaker 2: almost become the vice president of the United States. All
- 4:45Speaker 2: of this was known when he was running. There were
- 4:49Speaker 2: there were surprisingly enough liberal administrators of these government programs.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Well you know, regular Minnesotans who were trying to be
- 4:58Speaker 2: whistleblowers and being retaliated it against out of Minnesota. This
- 5:02Speaker 2: was a story there for the taking. I guess, I
- 5:06Speaker 2: guess you and I read about it and talked about
- 5:09Speaker 2: it a little bit. It was showing up on Twitter
- 5:13Speaker 2: and in conservative publications like Breitbart, not in the detail
- 5:17Speaker 2: we have now. But when was the mainstream media going
- 5:21Speaker 2: to get around to covering this about the possible next
- 5:24Speaker 2: vice president of the United States?
- 5:27Speaker 1: I think never was the date they had picked. But hey,
- 5:31Speaker 1: the other thing I'm watching every left wing fake news,
- 5:34Speaker 1: they're all keep saying about Venezuela's a violation of international law.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Nobody can figure out where the hell is this international
- 5:42Speaker 1: law they're talking about? Where does that exist?
- 5:44Speaker 2: There is no law in the imaginations of small children
- 5:48Speaker 2: and liberals like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, there
- 5:52Speaker 2: is no such thing as international law, international laws. Whatever
- 5:55Speaker 2: the United States says international law is. So yes, it
- 6:00Speaker 2: is hilarious when liberals go around wailing about the violations
- 6:06Speaker 2: of something that doesn't exist. Yet tell us what? Tell
- 6:08Speaker 2: us what? Santa Clause says?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Next?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so what are we gonna do here in New
- 6:13Speaker 1: York with Mom Donnie? You know this is going to
- 6:14Speaker 1: get out of control.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It's not looking good so far.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, there was I had some I
- 6:25Speaker 2: don't know if it's it's hope, or if it just
- 6:27Speaker 2: seems kind of logical that he doesn't seem like a
- 6:34Speaker 2: like a half wit the way Tim Waltz does, so
- 6:38Speaker 2: I kind of. I mean, when he decided to keep
- 6:40Speaker 2: and announce before the election that he was going to
- 6:42Speaker 2: keep the police commissioner Jessica Tish, I thought, okay, well,
- 6:46Speaker 2: he does at least know his entire mayoralty will will
- 6:50Speaker 2: go to hell if if he unleashes criminals on the
- 6:54Speaker 2: citizen ry. And I thought maybe it would be a
- 6:57Speaker 2: lot of left wing talk, but he would maintain, you know,
- 7:01Speaker 2: just to satisfy his it's not particularly astute base, but
- 7:08Speaker 2: then actually do a decent job running the city. No,
- 7:12Speaker 2: it does not look like that at all. Marximone. He
- 7:16Speaker 2: seem to.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Really believe he's going to put all these DEI and
- 7:21Speaker 3: left incompetence in important government positions and know that really
- 7:26Speaker 3: does not vote well.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Well, but it's just the third term of Deblasio. All
- 7:31Speaker 1: these same people were in the Deblasio administration. It was bad,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but we got through it. So we'll get through this,
- 7:36Speaker 1: won't we.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Well, it is New York City, and New York City
- 7:40Speaker 2: it's a hard city to wreck. And all I can
- 7:43Speaker 2: say is that's what we thought for many years about
- 7:47Speaker 2: the most beautiful state in the Union, California. But you know,
- 7:52Speaker 2: let Democrats put their minds to it, they can wreck anything.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So you know, they always love this socialism, and you
- 7:58Speaker 1: could point out it's never worked in where in the
- 8:00Speaker 1: world the last ten thousand times had failed. But don't
- 8:03Speaker 1: they also ever noticed that whenever they do these big programs,
- 8:07Speaker 1: billions of dollars go missing. The Blasio lost a billion
- 8:10Speaker 1: dollars in that fake program. We just saw eighteen billion
- 8:13Speaker 1: go missing in Minnesota. Don't they ever notice all the
- 8:16Speaker 1: money goes missing?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Hilariously, I was just looking. I was just on Twitter
- 8:21Speaker 2: before calling in to my friend Mickey Cows and tweeted
- 8:25Speaker 2: out something about this Minnesota fraud, and his very left
- 8:28Speaker 2: wing brother tweeted back at him, saying, you know, this
- 8:31Speaker 2: is the fault of conservatives that this program had been
- 8:35Speaker 2: I've been government run, we never would have had this fraud.
- 8:40Speaker 2: This is simultaneously with two hundred billion being stolen from
- 8:45Speaker 2: the COVID releef funds.
- 8:49Speaker 1: No, it's just off a hey year old buddy. George
- 8:53Speaker 1: Conway is coming to New York. He didn't live here.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But he's running for Jerry Nadler's congressional seat. You think
- 8:58Speaker 1: he has any chance?
- 9:01Speaker 2: Uh, well, it elected Jerry Mandler. I can't say I
- 9:08Speaker 2: really have my finger on the pulse of those voters.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I don't know. It's very it's very strange. George and I,
- 9:16Speaker 2: weirdly enough, were best friends for a long time. I
- 9:19Speaker 2: introduced him to his wife. There was no daylight between
- 9:23Speaker 2: our positions. And I don't know a lot of people
- 9:25Speaker 2: Trump just just broken.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. There are people that just I was
- 9:29Speaker 1: when Trump came along, they just went off the deep end.
- 9:32Speaker 1: There's a bunch of them.
- 9:34Speaker 2: But it's strange. He's not the only one of my friends.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And it's one thing. I mean, you know, I have
- 9:39Speaker 2: my I have my complaints with with Trump. There's a
- 9:43Speaker 2: lot to complain about there. But when you have people
- 9:47Speaker 2: who have been had certain certain and like I said,
- 9:51Speaker 2: George is the only one a certain worldview, you know,
- 9:55Speaker 2: anti crime for example, anti public violin, anti communism, and
- 10:02Speaker 2: just because I don't know, they don't like Trump again,
- 10:06Speaker 2: lots to dislike there, they suddenly slip on every single
- 10:12Speaker 2: position they've ever held, believed argued written about It's a
- 10:18Speaker 2: very strange phenomenon and I've seen it, i'd say a
- 10:22Speaker 2: handful of times. Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Well, and Culter, great talking to you. Glad you're back,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and everybody check out her Twitter and make sure you
- 10:30Speaker 1: sign up at substack and get her new column. You
