- 1:32Speaker 6: deals by a Toyota dot com.
- 1:36Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:41Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium, a big show, our last of the
- 1:44Speaker 1: week before we get ready for the Philadelphia Eagles, our
- 1:47Speaker 1: first picks show of the season. So in the last
- 1:52Speaker 1: part of the show, we'll go around the table and
- 1:55Speaker 1: do our picks, both got straight up and against the spread,
- 1:58Speaker 1: as we've been doing for any many years, many years,
- 2:02Speaker 1: establishing us ourselves as really the gurus of picking games
- 2:07Speaker 1: in the New England area, and we'll continue that tradition.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Today we've got the show within a show. We'll be
- 2:12Speaker 1: giving away T shirts today. Yesterday we gave away the
- 2:15Speaker 1: posters and by the way, if you're looking for those
- 2:19Speaker 1: game Day Posters series. You better hurry because they're flying off.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I know they right after the show. They sold seventy
- 2:26Speaker 1: and there's only two hundred and seventy posters. So you
- 2:29Speaker 1: better get yours if you're interested, because you want to
- 2:32Speaker 1: get the whole set. You want to get the whole
- 2:33Speaker 1: season that starts this week. Some big news today Mac
- 2:40Speaker 1: Jones press conference, Big news, big news. Evan Lazarre is
- 2:44Speaker 1: now the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. According
- 2:47Speaker 1: to Mac Jones.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Breaking news and according to Evan Lazar.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm just kidding, but Mac did call out Evan by
- 2:53Speaker 1: name and say you might as well be the offensive coordinator.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Are Evan Lazar getting the vip tree man from the
- 3:00Speaker 1: starting quarterback of the New England Patriots.
- 3:03Speaker 7: I mean, he's almost the only person in the room
- 3:05Speaker 7: every single week who is asking scheme questions. He's not
- 3:08Speaker 7: asking me about confidence and perseverance and fluff.
- 3:12Speaker 1: What's it like to play in week one?
- 3:13Speaker 3: Exactly?
- 3:14Speaker 5: He doesn't care about that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: No, he wants he wants the x's and o's exactly
- 3:19Speaker 1: a tough one.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I think he's doing his research.
- 3:22Speaker 7: I mean, how how else would he able to be
- 3:25Speaker 7: able to do his job, you know his is it
- 3:27Speaker 7: after further review after the game?
- 3:29Speaker 5: This is helpful knowledge, that's right.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So that was I was just you know, doing other
- 3:34Speaker 1: work and I had Mac up on my computer screen
- 3:37Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, like what what what? What's
- 3:39Speaker 1: going on here? But that was funny.
- 3:42Speaker 3: That was what I can imagine your reaction. Oh what
- 3:44Speaker 3: did they do?
- 3:45Speaker 4: Now?
- 3:45Speaker 1: I was like, how are we going to keep his going? Check? Now?
- 3:50Speaker 7: But to be fair, I feel like a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 7: the players know him by name. I remember David Andrews
- 3:54Speaker 7: was at the podium one day and he's like, shouldn't
- 3:56Speaker 7: you be on your honeymoon by now? Like didn't you
- 3:58Speaker 7: just get engaged? It was pretty funny, like they're all
- 4:00Speaker 7: paying attention.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And I wonder if they follow him and all that
- 4:03Speaker 1: on social and oh yeah, oh yeah yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 3: All he writes about is football.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They don't follow me?
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet you. Well, first of all, they all
- 4:14Speaker 3: know you.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but they don't like I would know, like if
- 4:16Speaker 1: David Andrews follows you, I would know that, but you don't.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Really have you looked at your followers like maybe he does.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Maybe, But don't you get a thing every time somebody
- 4:25Speaker 1: follows you you do?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, maybel do you pay attention to that?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Not all the time.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Maybe you don't have as many followers as.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I think X is playing games though. I've been stuck.
- 4:35Speaker 1: There's no question I've been stuck. I'm trying to get
- 4:37Speaker 1: over one hundred thousand mark. I've been stuck at ten thousand,
- 4:40Speaker 1: six hundred for a long time.
- 4:41Speaker 3: He gets me with that every single time.
- 4:44Speaker 7: Ten thousand, yeah, six hundred, Yeah, what's your goal?
- 4:48Speaker 3: One hundred thousand? He's been saying this since it started.
- 4:52Speaker 3: So I goals to get to.
- 4:53Speaker 1: One hundred like I used to. I used to do that,
- 4:56Speaker 1: like on a game day, I type in, I'm I'm
- 4:58Speaker 1: really hoping today I get over the hundre a thousand mark,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and then people, you're only at ten thousand. I thought
- 5:04Speaker 1: that's the joke, idiot, it's a joke.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Maybe if you tweeted more, you would actually get over
- 5:09Speaker 5: that hump.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah, no, you should just follow me because I'm me.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I don't need I don't need to give him.
- 5:14Speaker 3: This pike to show.
- 5:14Speaker 5: How do you think Evan got as many followers as
- 5:16Speaker 5: he has.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I know he works at it.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I'll talk about that off here.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh, he works at it and as we so as
- 5:24Speaker 1: you can see, we're video all day, all the time.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Now all three shows are going to be video deuces here.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Tamara's here, Paul, myself, Evan will be here shortly and
- 5:33Speaker 1: then I'll have to leave for practice as well.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Tomaraw is any of the offensive coordinator though, we's going.
- 5:38Speaker 1: We just talked about that.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I was I was trying to find out I did
- 5:42Speaker 4: the DC job.
- 5:43Speaker 1: That's that's the big news. That's the big news, right,
- 5:46Speaker 1: So how do we prank him on that? Like do
- 5:48Speaker 1: we say that like Robert wants to talk to you
- 5:51Speaker 1: or something like that?
- 5:52Speaker 8: And we got to get mac in on it. I
- 5:53Speaker 8: think we got to get mac in and we got
- 5:54Speaker 8: to set him up, you know, have Mac like you'll
- 5:56Speaker 8: go to.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Him with like, hey An, Nick, we're working on something
- 5:59Speaker 4: here and I just love to r and put on it.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Like Bill O'Brien. He likes you, right, Paul, yep, Paul,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you do it. Maybe we get Bill O'Brien on it. Hey, Evan,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I'd like to have a once a week meeting with you.
- 6:10Speaker 4: What you're thinking?
- 6:11Speaker 8: Just see what's going on in that big brainiers, that
- 6:13Speaker 8: big football brainiers, Evan, What do you got to.
- 6:15Speaker 3: See that that is stuff that we could have fun with.
- 6:17Speaker 3: If we could have fun with stuff.
- 6:19Speaker 7: Wait, who can we get someone to text Evan that
- 6:22Speaker 7: he doesn't have their phone number and pretend like he's built.
- 6:25Speaker 1: No, I think we could get Bill O'Brien. Actually, I
- 6:27Speaker 1: think Bill would do it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Really will talk to him. I'm certainly not going to
- 6:31Speaker 3: like do that in a press.
- 6:32Speaker 8: Cos I have his number, or just throw the question
- 6:34Speaker 8: back at him, like wait, till even cast him a
- 6:36Speaker 8: question during assistant coaches.
- 6:37Speaker 4: And actually they got a question for you. What would
- 6:39Speaker 4: you do with the MIC's you know, going to like
- 6:41Speaker 4: a real football?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, we're having fun with We're having fun. But
- 6:46Speaker 1: more importantly, we are just days away from the kickoff.
- 6:51Speaker 1: NFL kickoff is tonight to right h Kansas City and
- 6:55Speaker 1: the in the Lions, but our kickoff is Sunday at
- 6:58Speaker 1: four to twenty five. Weather is iffy at this point.
- 7:02Speaker 1: The percentages keep going up a little bit in terms
- 7:05Speaker 1: of rain and maybe maybe some lightning about thirty forty.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Chance right now, lightning would be a buzzkill.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Yeah, it would yeah, shut the game down.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Ye, I mean rain is rain, that's the playing rain.
- 7:17Speaker 1: It'll be warm. Who cares? But if you get the lightning,
- 7:20Speaker 1: then you got to clear the stands you got. It's
- 7:22Speaker 1: like a mandatory forty minute or whatever it is delay
- 7:27Speaker 1: that you have to do and before the lightning is
- 7:29Speaker 1: out of the area.
- 7:31Speaker 3: If Belichick just says no, what plant he can't But
- 7:34Speaker 3: what if he does a lot of things he can't do?
- 7:37Speaker 1: The other team would have to agree to it.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Most importantly, this really affects my game outfit?
- 7:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it really does. I would wear a hefty bag,
- 7:46Speaker 1: just put like a big poncho one like, just so you.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Know, I'm not feeling too bad about it. I checked the.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Fred Fred is upping his game on picks Day, first
- 7:54Speaker 3: pick day of the season. Fred's brought it today.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I didn't even print my thing this.
- 7:58Speaker 3: No, no, no, he's I'm just saying in Jen he's got
- 8:00Speaker 3: his a game, very funny, he's quick witted. Today he's
- 8:05Speaker 3: on it.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I think I was thinking about today. First of all,
- 8:08Speaker 1: I don't even know who's playing who this week, so
- 8:10Speaker 1: I I have done no prep.
- 8:12Speaker 3: That makes sense because it doesn't matter how much really
- 8:15Speaker 3: in this in this week one, Week one and week
- 8:17Speaker 3: two for different reasons. I think the week one, you
- 8:20Speaker 3: don't really know exactly what you're going to expect, and
- 8:22Speaker 3: then week two everything you saw in week one that
- 8:24Speaker 3: you thought might have given you some indication was then
- 8:27Speaker 3: it'll come back.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I mean, right right.
- 8:31Speaker 3: So it's well, they're not going to be good this year.
- 8:35Speaker 1: The Jets completely imploded, and then week two they could
- 8:37Speaker 1: just turn it around, you know.
- 8:38Speaker 3: So it's tough.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It is tough.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Last year, all that more impressive.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But I'm going to be really curious to see what
- 8:47Speaker 1: these spreads are of these games. What do the sharps know?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Are they chalking games, are they floating games? Or are
- 8:55Speaker 1: they fading games.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I think you need to stop watching and listening to
- 8:58Speaker 3: those shows. Why because I don't think you're really I
- 9:01Speaker 3: don't think you're grasping what things mean.
- 9:05Speaker 1: That's part of the joke. That's a stick the hoof.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I told you he brought it today, he's got it.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, but but that'll be at the end
- 9:17Speaker 1: of the show. We'll do that.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Got her, Well.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I noticed Alex hasn't come down.
- 9:22Speaker 4: She well, she said she was going to, And I
- 9:24Speaker 4: don't know.
- 9:24Speaker 8: I mean, we gotta we gotta figure out a rotation
- 9:27Speaker 8: of some sort I don't know what practice is.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Or are they out at practice now?
- 9:31Speaker 4: Not yet. I thought it was like closer to one.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, stuff to the important people still.
- 9:38Speaker 7: Waiting on Juwan Bentley or did he finally come because
- 9:40Speaker 7: that's why I ended up leaving because it was taken
- 9:41Speaker 7: too long.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. That might be what they're waiting
- 9:43Speaker 4: for right now. Yeah, we'll see. We'll just make do.
- 9:47Speaker 3: So we do have a very minor amount of news
- 9:52Speaker 3: with the first practice participation report of the season, oh yesterday,
- 9:57Speaker 3: And I don't think it was a great one. It's
- 9:59Speaker 3: not terrible, not terrible, as Charles Parker didn't. I didn't
- 10:03Speaker 3: like it.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I think I know what you're gonna say. And I
- 10:05Speaker 4: didn't look good. I didn't like that part of it.
- 10:06Speaker 3: No, the first name.
- 10:08Speaker 1: You're talking about Trent Brown, right yeah, yeah, illness, Now.
- 10:12Speaker 8: He was in the locker room yesterday and then rece
- 10:13Speaker 8: tweeted something like it was heat exhaustion maybe during practice,
- 10:17Speaker 8: which either way it's not good.
- 10:18Speaker 3: No, well that's especially not good, like if you had, like,
- 10:21Speaker 3: you know, dealing with a cold or something. You know,
- 10:23Speaker 3: the game's not until Sunday. If it's heat related, it's
- 10:26Speaker 3: going to be muggy at the very least on Sunday.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, right. You know, we talked about, you know, the
- 10:31Speaker 1: rotation that they possibly could have it offensive line.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I was kind of hoping he would be one of
- 10:35Speaker 3: the guys and didn't have to rotate, right, That was
- 10:38Speaker 3: the well, not much anyway.
- 10:39Speaker 7: And I will say I've seen a lot of pli
- 10:41Speaker 7: and like extra large jugs of water going around.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Oh hell yeah, I mean they should that's good.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good, especially with the humidity that we've been
- 10:49Speaker 3: dealing with. And people might not know outside of our region,
- 10:52Speaker 3: it's been uh, I would say unseasonably hot. Not warm hot.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It's been in the nineties the last couple of days, yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 3: which you or early September. I mean it's still hot
- 11:03Speaker 3: in September, but not like this. It's been very humid
- 11:05Speaker 3: in the nineties, to the point where I'm embarrassed to
- 11:10Speaker 3: say some schools have her tailed to their school day
- 11:13Speaker 3: and in some cases eliminated it all together. I don't
- 11:16Speaker 3: know how you.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Deal with Yeah, it's not that hot.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I'm proud to say that. My kids, uh to b
- 11:22Speaker 3: it out, to tough it out.
- 11:24Speaker 1: My kids got canceled. There's no, a C in the school.
- 11:26Speaker 3: There's no in any schools.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Don't you want the kids to learn if they're That's
- 11:32Speaker 6: why people are stupid nowadays because we sat there in
- 11:34Speaker 6: hot classrooms melting.
- 11:35Speaker 3: But you're in issue because they don't go to school.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's not like you're out in the sun's beating day.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Wait.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Wait, you guys don't have a C in your school?
- 11:42Speaker 5: Are you all joking some.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Of them back in the day. No, I don't know.
- 11:46Speaker 3: A lot of the schools don't have a My kids
- 11:48Speaker 3: school is canceled to day A.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Not up here.
- 11:50Speaker 8: Most schools don't have because it's only really an issue
- 11:52Speaker 8: for like September. Like it's there's never really heat issue
- 11:56Speaker 8: like in California.
- 11:58Speaker 3: In terms of like extreme heat. This isn't that hot.
- 12:01Speaker 8: No.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I watched it on the news this morning and I
- 12:03Speaker 4: was walking out and I'm like, it's not even that hot, Like,
- 12:06Speaker 4: I don't, I don't get it felt like capella.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I would.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I mean, we could definitely do fifteen minutes on a capella.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So let me ask you quit when you went to
- 12:14Speaker 1: grade school, what kind of windows were they?
- 12:17Speaker 8: There were those like big ones that you open just
- 12:19Speaker 8: at the bottom, you know, you could kind of pop
- 12:21Speaker 8: it open at the bottom, yeah, because.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Ours were you crank and they'd come out like this. Huh.
- 12:27Speaker 1: You know. So there was one time sister Berkman made
- 12:30Speaker 1: this girl who was chewing bubble gum that they she
- 12:34Speaker 1: would make her. She made her stick her head out
- 12:36Speaker 1: the window for the whole class, and she had a
- 12:39Speaker 1: like maneuver over the window and then get her head
- 12:43Speaker 1: somehow out of there. It was like some type of
- 12:45Speaker 1: medieval sports.
- 12:46Speaker 3: There was such a it was such a better time.
- 12:48Speaker 5: The teacher what's the teacher's name in Matilda, that's.
- 12:50Speaker 1: What she's Oh, she was terrible. She would hit us,
- 12:53Speaker 1: mister Hale.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, mister hand. It was such a better
- 12:58Speaker 3: time when you could do that.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Well.
- 12:59Speaker 8: I had a Spanish teacher, a mister Krer, who used
- 13:01Speaker 8: to take like an aerosol bottle of like I don't
- 13:04Speaker 8: know lyesol and spray a paper towel and then he
- 13:06Speaker 8: put it on the thermostat and then his room would
- 13:09Speaker 8: be like ungodly hot. Like that was like his chemical
- 13:12Speaker 8: method to increase the heat in his room. It's like
- 13:14Speaker 8: this little old Spanish teacher guy, hottest room in the world.
- 13:17Speaker 8: Like that it's probably hotter today. No, they probably would
- 13:20Speaker 8: cancel his class today anyway. Yeah, so Trent Brown, we
- 13:25Speaker 8: don't know what the illness is. We're only speculating, but
- 13:29Speaker 8: whatever it is, you know, if he's limited, like.
- 13:34Speaker 4: At this point, I'm just like, good luck.
- 13:35Speaker 8: I don't know, you know, it's I mean, it felt
- 13:37Speaker 8: it felt like wrong this summer when you're saying like, well,
- 13:40Speaker 8: we gotta like you had to count on Trent Brown
- 13:42Speaker 8: being the guy, like at the very least, we need
- 13:44Speaker 8: him to be out there and to play, you know.
- 13:46Speaker 8: I don't think anyone's expecting him not to fall start
- 13:48Speaker 8: maybe once or twice, but like he needs to be
- 13:50Speaker 8: out there for the and if you don't have him,
- 13:52Speaker 8: then I don't know who the other tackles are this week,
- 13:54Speaker 8: unless your guys new guys or rookies.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Because I think you're looking at a three man rotation
- 13:58Speaker 3: of some sort of Brown Anderson and so yeah, but
- 14:04Speaker 3: I was kind of looking at Anderson. You can't ask
- 14:07Speaker 3: him to go wire to wire, you know, but maybe
- 14:09Speaker 3: they can be one series on, one series off, and
- 14:12Speaker 3: then they rotate. But I don't know which ones are
- 14:15Speaker 3: those guys they feel best about playing both sides.
- 14:17Speaker 1: But I even't think you need to give Andrews a
- 14:19Speaker 1: blow here and there. You know, I don't know.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I mean, you could be right, but I think this
- 14:26Speaker 3: is Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if if he goes.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Full, you're not going to stick Jake Andrews out there.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I mean, Jake Andrews didn't earn any reps. I'll tell
- 14:35Speaker 3: you that the other two did. Mafi and I could
- 14:42Speaker 3: definitely see him, you know, and I saw who did
- 14:46Speaker 3: I read today. One of the things and clips I
- 14:48Speaker 3: read today open up the possibility that he could start
- 14:51Speaker 3: at left guard for Strange, if you know, if they
- 14:54Speaker 3: think that Strange isn't ready and sort of you know,
- 14:57Speaker 3: ease him in a little bit, you know, saying Strange
- 14:59Speaker 3: will play, but maybe Mafi will get the start because
- 15:03Speaker 3: they were happy with him.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah. So, you know, as as we do every year
- 15:10Speaker 1: on Thursday, Mike sends his round up and we all
- 15:12Speaker 1: give answers to his questions. And I didn't see what
- 15:18Speaker 1: everybody else said. I did not type, I didn't see whatever.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I didn't see everybody else's answers. But obviously the biggest
- 15:24Speaker 1: concern going in has to be offensive.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Line definitely for everybody. Yeah, yeah, well depth in general,
- 15:30Speaker 3: but specifically in the offensive line.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 8: And I'll say too on the injury report, I didn't
- 15:34Speaker 8: love knee for DeVante Parker. I was hoping hamstring or
- 15:38Speaker 8: you know, like just a soft tissue injury like Evan said,
- 15:41Speaker 8: But I don't know that's that's not good.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Have a knee injury. Knee issue, yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 5: One.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I mean, to get open in the NFL, there's two things.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You have to either be blazing fast or be able
- 15:51Speaker 1: to be quick, and that means cutting. And if you
- 15:54Speaker 1: have a bad knee, well, he's like.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Three, he's just really big. He can jump up over.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Okay, one on one, Yeah, fifty to fifties. But that's
- 16:00Speaker 1: not necessarily getting open, right.
- 16:02Speaker 8: Well, it's not going to help him. It's not going
- 16:03Speaker 8: to help him. So I don't know, we'll see, But
- 16:05Speaker 8: I mean again, it's just kind of issues that you've
- 16:09Speaker 8: been kind of concerned about but have been under the surface,
- 16:12Speaker 8: such as.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Trent Brown's reliability, DeVante Parker's health.
- 16:15Speaker 8: Those were issues for the team last year and don't
- 16:18Speaker 8: like getting a reminder of them the Wednesday before the
- 16:20Speaker 8: first game.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and Jack Jones was also on that list, right, Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 3: he was.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You know, it's funny. Like again, I'm working on my
- 16:27Speaker 1: computer yesterday and all of a sudden that participation report
- 16:31Speaker 1: pops up. It's like, oh yeah, I forget about those.
- 16:33Speaker 1: It was all excited first one of.
- 16:34Speaker 4: The seasons illness. Yeah, it's weird.
- 16:38Speaker 8: Yeah, what do he walked through the locker room yesterday?
- 16:41Speaker 1: I saw it. I mean, yeah, so it can't be COVID.
- 16:43Speaker 1: If it was COVID, he wouldn't be in the locker right,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you know, But.
- 16:46Speaker 4: It's just weird, Like I guess that you would.
- 16:49Speaker 3: He wouldn't be limited with COD.
- 16:50Speaker 8: Like you would add heat stroke or something like. He
- 16:52Speaker 8: just got hot and had to stop practice, so they
- 16:54Speaker 8: had to like limit him a little bit.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Could be Yeah, so.
- 16:57Speaker 5: He's from Texas, he should be used to this heat.
- 17:00Speaker 1: He should be. But when you're three hundred and some
- 17:02Speaker 1: odd pounds, it's hot. It is hot.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Good things they go to Tennessee that would have been
- 17:06Speaker 4: hot to.
- 17:07Speaker 1: How about that flight where the guy had the diarrhea?
- 17:09Speaker 1: Did you see that? I saw it.
- 17:12Speaker 4: I didn't smell it, though, thank god.
- 17:14Speaker 7: I saw the video like the aftermath, and I was
- 17:16Speaker 7: just like, you just have to throw the whole plane
- 17:18Speaker 7: away at this point.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 8: Was that just in one seat or was it was
- 17:21Speaker 8: up the the whole aisle, like all.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Down the aisle. It was unbelievable. I feel sorry for
- 17:29Speaker 1: the guy, you know, obviously he couldn't help himself.
- 17:31Speaker 7: But man, I would hate to have had the al see.
- 17:34Speaker 7: I would have hated to been a flight attendant. I
- 17:36Speaker 7: just hate to be on the plane period.
- 17:37Speaker 8: Well, that never comes to mind when I think about
- 17:39Speaker 8: like annoying things that might happen in a flight, you know, delays,
- 17:42Speaker 8: like you know, a big turbin drop something like that,
- 17:44Speaker 8: like diarrhea now, and that one's gonna be like, I'm
- 17:45Speaker 8: gonna be like, well it could be diarrhet that. I
- 17:47Speaker 8: think it's made me feel better about flying because I'll
- 17:49Speaker 8: be like, well, at least nobody had diarrhea all over
- 17:50Speaker 8: the plane.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So yeah, you have.
- 17:55Speaker 5: To throw the whole plane away. That's it cleaning. It would.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Just blow it up, ye.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Or maybe you know, they give I don't know what airline,
- 18:04Speaker 1: was it Delta Delta? Maybe they give discounts if you
- 18:07Speaker 1: fly the diarrhea plane.
- 18:09Speaker 4: You know, are the Patriots in the market for a
- 18:10Speaker 4: new plane, Maybe they could discount.
- 18:12Speaker 5: And it's crazy because I'm a Delta girly.
- 18:14Speaker 7: But now I'm going to be paranoid every time I
- 18:16Speaker 7: get on an adulta flight, thinking like what if I'm
- 18:18Speaker 7: on the plane?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah? He was on.
- 18:21Speaker 4: You know.
- 18:21Speaker 8: The consensus with Delta is the best is that it
- 18:23Speaker 8: is the best. Yeah, that's what I've been talking to people.
- 18:26Speaker 8: That's what they say.
- 18:27Speaker 1: It's not a high bar these days.
- 18:28Speaker 3: It's like Manty Brewster, none of the above.
- 18:30Speaker 7: They all sink, I will take a Delta flight with
- 18:34Speaker 7: a connection over a direct flight on insert airline here.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Really, I will take Delta.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Okay, all right.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I've always liked Jet Blue too, but people were were saying,
- 18:44Speaker 4: I just.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Like it a logan. They have their own terminal.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I generally go Jet Blue. But they all.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Stinky rolling the dice no matter what.
- 18:52Speaker 3: They're all ridiculously overpriced and never on time.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Ye mostly can't and they play shenanigans now with you,
- 18:59Speaker 1: and I won't get into details, but.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, if the flight's half booked, they canceled the flight.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah, with you on the plane, that happened and you
- 19:07Speaker 1: just get off.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Yeah, the wait for them.
- 19:09Speaker 1: They don't put us on another plane, they said, always
- 19:12Speaker 1: you know, mechanical. No, it wasn't. There's twenty people on
- 19:15Speaker 1: this flight. You don't want to fly. Yeah, that's that's
- 19:17Speaker 1: what it was.
- 19:18Speaker 8: But that was our flight with those socks. When we
- 19:19Speaker 8: went to Arizona, we were like, was the ap For
- 19:22Speaker 8: twelve hours? They never told us what happened. He just
- 19:24Speaker 8: kept moving the flight and finally.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Till we fill it up ten hours later.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It's ridiculous anyway, people are like, will you please talk?
- 19:33Speaker 1: Where's Evan?
- 19:34Speaker 3: They feel like we've been talking about the Eagles for
- 19:36Speaker 3: like two months.
- 19:36Speaker 8: Though, you know, yeah, yeah, well the Hay's in the barn, right,
- 19:39Speaker 8: you know, I'm just ready to well, see what happens tomorrow.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Roll them out there now. That's when they them.
- 19:46Speaker 3: That's why after practice. But for us, when build talks tomorrow,
- 19:50Speaker 3: you know, the Hayes in the barn.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But it will be fascinating to see, fascinating more you know,
- 19:55Speaker 1: really in the first half what the game plan is,
- 19:57Speaker 1: because as we know, you get hit in the face
- 20:00Speaker 1: and then the plan goes out the window. But how
- 20:02Speaker 1: they start off, you know, how do they you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: uh scheme that first quarter?
- 20:09Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, do you kind of I mean just
- 20:11Speaker 8: talk about the weather a little bit. Do you feel
- 20:13Speaker 8: I kind of feel like it's worse for the Patriots,
- 20:15Speaker 8: like all the running options that the Eagles have and
- 20:19Speaker 8: the willingness of their quarterback to run the ball.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And well, what I mean getting a storm like it
- 20:24Speaker 3: couldn't really is it going to be raining?
- 20:26Speaker 5: I think it's going to be raining like all weekend.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be a storm. It could be thunder
- 20:31Speaker 1: and lightning.
- 20:31Speaker 3: About like wind. I'm talking about rain especially, like you said,
- 20:35Speaker 3: at this time of year, it's like eighty degree rain
- 20:38Speaker 3: that I don't think that impacts the game at all.
- 20:39Speaker 3: It's refreshing, but you know, if it's windy and rainy,
- 20:44Speaker 3: you know, now you're talking about you know, different elements
- 20:46Speaker 3: of the passing game that are affected.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't hear about high wind.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't really paid attention. That's why I ask
- 20:52Speaker 3: you guys. I'm not on the weather rapps like you
- 20:54Speaker 3: guys are.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But the thing about these you old folks that we
- 20:58Speaker 1: humanity storms the is the kind of one floor they
- 21:01Speaker 1: just pop up, right, So you'll be looking at the
- 21:03Speaker 1: radar and you're like, oh, there's nothing there, and then
- 21:05Speaker 1: ten minutes later something just pops up and then a
- 21:07Speaker 1: torrential rain for like five minutes and then it stops.
- 21:11Speaker 4: But that kind of humid, Now do you guys have
- 21:12Speaker 4: me worried?
- 21:13Speaker 3: So I need to check.
- 21:14Speaker 5: I think meteorologists had the best job in the world.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Like it's all guessing, right, you can be.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Wrong, and yeah every day you're just like today it's
- 21:21Speaker 4: going to be cloudy. Today's you know, they get all
- 21:24Speaker 4: excited when it's like a tornado or something. You know,
- 21:26Speaker 4: they get to like talk about like a major weather event.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they know, they go, oh, I have to
- 21:30Speaker 1: talk about the pressure, all right? Eight five five pass
- 21:34Speaker 1: five hundred is the ace taken hotline web radio at
- 21:36Speaker 1: patries dot com is the email address. I suppose we
- 21:39Speaker 1: should get right to it with our listeners, seeing as
- 21:43Speaker 1: how we're going to have to do picks later in
- 21:45Speaker 1: the show. That cuts off their chances to talk while
- 21:47Speaker 1: we're doing that. Uh, so we'll go to Todd in
- 21:50Speaker 1: North Carolina. What's up, Todd?
- 21:52Speaker 9: Well, I watched your marvelous mister Evan with mister Kyle's
- 21:57Speaker 9: talking about how to play defense against the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 22:01Speaker 9: and he basically stated that you have to be fairly aggressive.
- 22:04Speaker 9: You have to come up and not let the play
- 22:06Speaker 9: develop in.
- 22:06Speaker 10: Front of you. You have to dictate what they're doing.
- 22:08Speaker 9: And I don't think we've really done that on defense
- 22:11Speaker 9: since Brian Flores, to be honest. So I'm a little
- 22:14Speaker 9: worried about, you know, how this defense is going to react.
- 22:17Speaker 9: I don't want them sitting back and letting the play
- 22:20Speaker 9: develop because I think, see, I'll push what they're gonna do.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I'll push back on that a little bit. I think
- 22:25Speaker 1: last year they were aggressive, and I think it was
- 22:27Speaker 1: reflected in the pressures that they got. The problem is
- 22:29Speaker 1: they didn't almost finish. You know, they got back there
- 22:32Speaker 1: and they flash, but when things broke down, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: sometimes they just couldn't finish the job. That's what they
- 22:40Speaker 1: need to do. And to me, it's just about speed.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You know, it's not enough for Keon White to show
- 22:45Speaker 1: himself back there. He's got to finish it or at
- 22:48Speaker 1: least drive the quarterback or whoever it is, into the
- 22:51Speaker 1: hands of somebody else. You know, you just got to finish.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I think they've been aggressive, like.
- 22:57Speaker 9: When he's under pressure, Like, what is his quarterback eating
- 23:00Speaker 9: under pressure?
- 23:00Speaker 11: I know, not there yet?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Who who hurts it? Goes down everybody's Yeah, it goes
- 23:05Speaker 1: down when he's off platform, not by design, you know,
- 23:10Speaker 1: I heard it goes down to like twenty three percent.
- 23:14Speaker 1: But like Paul said, when he's rolling out, I've said no,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I said when when when he's when he's not in
- 23:20Speaker 1: the pocket and he's being pressured. Oh, when he's being pressured.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yeah, So like just out of curiosity, what was the
- 23:26Speaker 3: number of those I don't know because I thought it
- 23:28Speaker 3: was just rolling out, which I thought that sounded like
- 23:30Speaker 3: a low number to me.
- 23:31Speaker 1: No, that's yeah, not by design. But but when he's
- 23:34Speaker 1: you know, being.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Hurried, So like was he hurried ten times and you know,
- 23:38Speaker 3: had eight bad passes?
- 23:39Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 23:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean? Like really good, really
- 23:42Speaker 3: good offensive line? Like I'm being serious here, it's a
- 23:45Speaker 3: really good offensive line. How many times was he forced
- 23:49Speaker 3: to throw on the run?
- 23:50Speaker 1: I'm sure there's a stat that has that, you know,
- 23:54Speaker 1: that reflects throwing while off platform and being pressured.
- 23:59Speaker 3: And if not, you know, some site will make it up. Yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 3: there was something in some stats today, thanks Todd, Like,
- 24:07Speaker 3: how would you envision coverage for the Patriots last year
- 24:10Speaker 3: in terms of defensive pass coverage man or zone.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Mostly mostly man.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I think really, yeah, Okay, I'm wrong.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I think I think I think the numbers back that
- 24:20Speaker 4: up too.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Numbers definitely back it up. I think it's wrong. But
- 24:23Speaker 3: I also played a lot of man last year.
- 24:25Speaker 8: But I also think that there's a whole world that
- 24:26Speaker 8: me and Evan have been talking about all off season,
- 24:28Speaker 8: which is man match coverage, and that is I'm like,
- 24:31Speaker 8: does anyone actually know, like anyone actually watching the game,
- 24:34Speaker 8: that would be my nobody knows, because you know all
- 24:37Speaker 8: these sites that are saying, oh, we have the zone
- 24:39Speaker 8: man splits, it's I don't know if there's any way
- 24:41Speaker 8: to really tell when you're in man match zone because
- 24:44Speaker 8: it's it's it's going to start out looking like zone
- 24:46Speaker 8: and then it's going to go to man and so
- 24:48Speaker 8: I and this is one of the things I gotta
- 24:49Speaker 8: I gotta talk to Pelgreen about it, and I know so
- 24:51Speaker 8: much to write about it, but just to be like,
- 24:53Speaker 8: literally is aiming for that defensive Yeah, like, talk to
- 24:56Speaker 8: me goose.
- 24:57Speaker 4: But but there's a question I have. I'm like, realistically,
- 25:00Speaker 4: how often.
- 25:00Speaker 8: Are you guys, just like in straight zone coverage, how
- 25:03Speaker 8: often I just would say man coverage.
- 25:05Speaker 3: I would bet that the numbers do not back up
- 25:07Speaker 3: the numbers that are published. And I think you explain
- 25:11Speaker 3: that really well in terms of not really identifying zone
- 25:16Speaker 3: and man as easily as people do. I remember sitting
- 25:21Speaker 3: there last year for large stretches of the season saying,
- 25:23Speaker 3: why are they never in man? Especially on third down?
- 25:27Speaker 3: And I saw numbers today that we got in one
- 25:30Speaker 3: of those packets that had them like top five or
- 25:32Speaker 3: six in the league in man coverage, like some of
- 25:36Speaker 3: these some of these, you know, I guess I'm wrong.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Some of these outlets. All they do is, oh, guy
- 25:40Speaker 1: goes in motions, somebody goes with them up there, and man.
- 25:42Speaker 1: That's not the case.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Sometimes it is, but yeah, sometimes but not always. I
- 25:47Speaker 3: think Mike the way Mike talked about like, and I
- 25:49Speaker 3: say this all the time, just because you're in zone
- 25:51Speaker 3: doesn't mean there's nobody responsible for the receivers. It's man
- 25:54Speaker 3: within your zone, right, So I think a lot of
- 25:56Speaker 3: times it can be perceived as man no matter what,
- 25:59Speaker 3: even there's man, and.
- 26:00Speaker 8: Even explicitly like this is actually man coverage, justs not
- 26:03Speaker 8: just because he was in my zone, I was with him.
- 26:05Speaker 8: It's we let the routes disperse and then we each
- 26:08Speaker 8: go to a guy and then it's man, and you know,
- 26:10Speaker 8: I think, I mean, I I'd love to hear the
- 26:12Speaker 8: answer from Pelgrin.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I got.
- 26:13Speaker 8: I'll ask him next time, but just you know, just
- 26:15Speaker 8: for some general insight, because I those numbers just seem
- 26:18Speaker 8: so clean, and I you know, and I watched this
- 26:20Speaker 8: stuff and it's like, how could you tell those numbers?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Really?
- 26:23Speaker 3: Like I those they opened my eyes today when I
- 26:26Speaker 3: when I looked at that, I wasn't expecting that.
- 26:29Speaker 7: So according to ESPN, without pressure, Hurts hasn't eighty two
- 26:34Speaker 7: point four QBR, which ranks second in the NFL. With pressure,
- 26:38Speaker 7: Hurts drops to twenty five point five in QBR.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Just pressure every time, which is what pressure every time?
- 26:46Speaker 3: He's second in the league without pressure? What is he
- 26:48Speaker 3: with pressure?
- 26:49Speaker 4: Twelve?
- 26:50Speaker 3: That's pretty good. That is still pretty It's pretty good.
- 26:52Speaker 3: That's that's my point. Like, you can't go by the percentage.
- 26:55Speaker 8: There's no answer in this, right, It's no right, Like, yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 8: and what quarterback Matt Jones was in the thirties, right,
- 27:03Speaker 8: I mean that's like, that's it's the degree of how
- 27:04Speaker 8: much you fall. But I mean every team wants to
- 27:07Speaker 8: get pressure every snap. Like it's not like you're like, well,
- 27:10Speaker 8: let's not pressure him on this one.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Like, it's what defines pressure.
- 27:13Speaker 1: What defines pressures, you have to get out of the pocket.
- 27:16Speaker 3: So it so it's one of those things that it's
- 27:18Speaker 3: been one of the best things to happen in sports
- 27:20Speaker 3: and one of the worst things all at once. Just
- 27:23Speaker 3: the advent of all of these.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Everything that's statistically broken down.
- 27:26Speaker 3: It's great because it allows you to sort of validate
- 27:28Speaker 3: what you see in a lot of cases. But at
- 27:31Speaker 3: the same time, I think it's sort of sketchy.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it is, And that's kind of one of the
- 27:37Speaker 1: beauties of football is you know, it's not it's not
- 27:41Speaker 1: all cut and dry like baseball, you know or some
- 27:44Speaker 1: of the other sports. Like you don't know if the
- 27:48Speaker 1: if the guard next to the tackle did something to
- 27:50Speaker 1: make the tackle look bad and now on on paper
- 27:52Speaker 1: the tackle gets a bad grade.
- 27:54Speaker 3: You know, there's all kinds of happened in the opener.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yeah, there's all kinds of instances like that all over
- 28:00Speaker 1: the field. You know, quarterback is an incompletion, Well that's
- 28:03Speaker 1: because the receiver rounded out his route, but you don't.
- 28:06Speaker 8: Know, Yeah, and that's why every bit of statistics that
- 28:10Speaker 8: you read there's bias in it of who was watching it,
- 28:13Speaker 8: Like who is this PFF analyst who graded this game?
- 28:16Speaker 8: And did they grade it off the TV copy? They're
- 28:18Speaker 8: great in safety play off the TV copy, like like that's.
- 28:21Speaker 3: You know, No twenty two All twenty two, But like.
- 28:24Speaker 4: I would believe it if those things didn't come out
- 28:27Speaker 4: three hours after the game. You know that there's no
- 28:28Speaker 4: way they had the ALL twenty two, right, so those.
- 28:31Speaker 3: You know, like like I mean sometimes that's a PFF
- 28:33Speaker 3: come out. I don't know what the car after the game.
- 28:35Speaker 3: They're pretty quick, I mean within twenty four hours. Put
- 28:37Speaker 3: it this way, they would get those out before we
- 28:39Speaker 3: would have access via game pass in the past to
- 28:42Speaker 3: get the All twenty two FuMB, which is fine, but
- 28:45Speaker 3: it's just you know, and he also don't know, this
- 28:47Speaker 3: guy's a huge fan of the other team, and he's
- 28:49Speaker 3: going to give his guys a little bit benefit of
- 28:51Speaker 3: the doubts or you know.
- 28:53Speaker 8: Like so I just think that's why you have to
- 28:55Speaker 8: watch it yourself. You come over with your own opinions
- 28:57Speaker 8: and then we can talk about it. But to you know,
- 28:59Speaker 8: talk about, well, what's this stat you know, and does
- 29:02Speaker 8: that tell us how they can do it?
- 29:03Speaker 4: Like not really, don't. I mean, Jalen Hurt's gonna be
- 29:06Speaker 4: worse under pressure?
- 29:07Speaker 3: Great, yeah, like yeah, no. The bottom line is you
- 29:09Speaker 3: want to get pressure because you don't want to let
- 29:11Speaker 3: anybody just get comfortable.
- 29:12Speaker 8: But I agree with the general point of the aggressiveness.
- 29:14Speaker 8: I don't agree with the point that they haven't been
- 29:16Speaker 8: as aggressive. I don't think they went back to Matt Patricia.
- 29:18Speaker 8: I think UNDERSTI but don't you think they were aggressively.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I think I think they do a lot. I don't
- 29:22Speaker 3: think they blits a ton, but I think they do
- 29:24Speaker 3: a lot of different things to generate pressure. I don't
- 29:27Speaker 3: think it's necessarily aggressive and to free guys up, and
- 29:29Speaker 3: they try to trick people. Yeah, wake the pressure, right.
- 29:32Speaker 4: You think Flores was a little bit more.
- 29:34Speaker 8: Maybe it just got more attention with all the zero
- 29:36Speaker 8: blitz stuff, because that's you know, it's like, oh my god,
- 29:38Speaker 8: here they all come and there's no one deep and
- 29:39Speaker 8: it's just one you know, It's it's kind of exciting
- 29:41Speaker 8: when those places out, But they still throw those out there.
- 29:44Speaker 8: I think they're more spin the dial, But I wouldn't
- 29:46Speaker 8: say that they're what they were in twenty tens of
- 29:49Speaker 8: three man rush team primarily.
- 29:51Speaker 1: And not really send safeties. I think that you saw
- 29:53Speaker 1: corners going, you know, like I think they've been a
- 29:55Speaker 1: little bit more aggressive.
- 29:57Speaker 4: They were the summer. I mean, they were sending mills
- 29:58Speaker 4: on blitzes.
- 29:59Speaker 8: They were sending jections don blitz you know, they were
- 30:01Speaker 8: they were messing with that stuff. Even going back to
- 30:03Speaker 8: the spring world, We're like, how.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Can the offense do anything when you're sending all these
- 30:06Speaker 3: to the point where it was bothering the offense, Like
- 30:09Speaker 3: even at practice we heard comments off the field during practices.
- 30:13Speaker 1: That's right. Uh, let's go to John and Louisiana, who's
- 30:16Speaker 1: become a regular caller. What's up? John?
- 30:20Speaker 10: Appreciate you Jo. So two things first, Mike, I agree
- 30:25Speaker 10: with the advance that that's kind of like what's brewing
- 30:28Speaker 10: in UDA basketball to all these advances. So I'm doing that.
- 30:31Speaker 10: But my question is about Christian Dallas. We uh, you
- 30:35Speaker 10: guys that have been a first round for a game
- 30:36Speaker 10: like this. Reguard to AJ Brow, it seems like everybody's
- 30:40Speaker 10: just so word to put him out there. Now, what
- 30:41Speaker 10: does it?
- 30:42Speaker 1: Well, Yeah, We're worried because he's a rookie and like
- 30:45Speaker 1: he could turn in to be a great cornerback, but
- 30:47Speaker 1: this is his first game, you know, a real game
- 30:51Speaker 1: with extended snaps, and it's it's expecting a lot to
- 30:55Speaker 1: have him be able to shut down either one of
- 30:58Speaker 1: those wide receivers that he have on the outside.
- 31:01Speaker 8: Especially the physicality with Brown. That's you know, that's a
- 31:04Speaker 8: tough one for him. But but hey, he's going to
- 31:06Speaker 8: be out there and I think he'll he'll.
- 31:07Speaker 3: He's going to be out there, absolutely, and he's going
- 31:09Speaker 3: to have I think some help over the top. Can
- 31:12Speaker 3: imagine you put him on an island.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's tough goes up to those I mean, I
- 31:17Speaker 1: think that philosophy is the same with all teams, but
- 31:20Speaker 1: certainly the Patriots just don't give up the big play
- 31:22Speaker 1: on defense. Make them earn it, make them matriculate down
- 31:25Speaker 1: the field, don't give it up in one play. And
- 31:28Speaker 1: I think that's going to continue this season. I can't
- 31:30Speaker 1: imagine they're gonna, you know, stop with that type of thing.
- 31:34Speaker 3: You don't want to give up the big the big plays.
- 31:36Speaker 3: But I do you know, getting back to the stuff
- 31:39Speaker 3: that we've been talking about with coming forward getting aggressive defensively.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I think the Patriots have often just said, you know,
- 31:46Speaker 3: make them do the ten to twelve play. Offenses do
- 31:49Speaker 3: that routinely. Now, even okay offenses do that routinely. So
- 31:54Speaker 3: I just wonder if is it harder to complete that
- 31:57Speaker 3: one bomb or have the two well play drive. And
- 32:01Speaker 3: I think you can make a good argument either way. Now, yeah,
- 32:04Speaker 3: you know, like you're gotta cover them. You're not gonna
- 32:05Speaker 3: just say that guy's uncovered. You're gonna say you can't
- 32:07Speaker 3: complete it forty yards downfield. No, you're gonna be there
- 32:10Speaker 3: contesting it and doing what you can.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Get a flat throw.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, Fred, you run always.
- 32:18Speaker 8: And I mean I think to echo what Evan and
- 32:20Speaker 8: I have been saying this week is you know, I
- 32:22Speaker 8: remember when they go against those good offenses of Peyton
- 32:24Speaker 8: Manning or you know, they come up with a new
- 32:27Speaker 8: twist against good offenses.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Like, I get it.
- 32:30Speaker 8: You're gonna play a crappy team. You've got the greatest
- 32:32Speaker 8: quarterback in the league. You're just gonna sit back.
- 32:34Speaker 3: And be against the last year, make Sam Allener put
- 32:36Speaker 3: together twelve play drives. He's not gonna do it.
- 32:38Speaker 8: But we did see at certain select times when it
- 32:41Speaker 8: felt like this is a team that we're gonna go
- 32:43Speaker 8: ahead to have what we got to have a little
- 32:44Speaker 8: something in the bag this week. And I and I think,
- 32:46Speaker 8: you know what Evan said yesterday, what I said the
- 32:48Speaker 8: earlier show, they got to have a little something defensively
- 32:50Speaker 8: in the bags.
- 32:51Speaker 4: And you know, and it might not even just be
- 32:53Speaker 4: the twists.
- 32:53Speaker 8: It's just they got to come out and play really
- 32:56Speaker 8: well and like a team that is motivated to kind
- 32:59Speaker 8: of get over the hump and show you know that
- 33:01Speaker 8: that's that's what I I want to see against this offense.
- 33:04Speaker 4: They're too good. You can't just go.
- 33:05Speaker 8: Back there and sit and brush three and you know,
- 33:08Speaker 8: assume that they're going to make mistakes.
- 33:09Speaker 1: They're not going to make them, and you're gonna give
- 33:11Speaker 1: up a big play here and there. It's just gonna happen.
- 33:14Speaker 1: You know's gonna break down.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Just don't let it score scoring.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Hurts is going to get a big right, you know,
- 33:20Speaker 1: he's gonna get at least.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Question would be like to the big plays. Are they
- 33:26Speaker 3: more frequent than they were last year with mccordy gun.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Yeah, And that's it's a great question. Yeah, that's that's
- 33:31Speaker 4: a huge one.
- 33:32Speaker 8: I mean, I know Evan wrote that piece about talking
- 33:34Speaker 8: to Devin about the safeties and he was, you know,
- 33:36Speaker 8: joking that Bill when he moved him.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Back to safety, was just like get back, get like
- 33:41Speaker 4: that's the big thing with that free safety.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Just don't get beat ga perfect.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Don't say anything.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Else, John.
- 33:49Speaker 10: Yeah, when you talk about like in being physical, you're
- 33:53Speaker 10: talking running or after they catch everything anywhere.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I think you can run with them.
- 34:02Speaker 4: I can't even run with them. It's just you know
- 34:03Speaker 4: when the ball's coming.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I mean, he's a guy who average eighteen yards at
- 34:06Speaker 3: catch last year. I mean, this is a big play guy,
- 34:09Speaker 3: in a big volume guy. He's a load.
- 34:13Speaker 8: I just wonder how much if they'll try, sorry, seventeen yards, like,
- 34:16Speaker 8: how much they might want to keep because I don't
- 34:17Speaker 8: think I don't think DeVante Smith is too you know,
- 34:20Speaker 8: I think he's obviously a great player. But you know,
- 34:22Speaker 8: would they consider maybe sticking Jonathan Jones on on AJ
- 34:25Speaker 8: Brown or you know, are they gonna flip them or they.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I would think that that's what they would do. Now,
- 34:29Speaker 3: Evan didn't think that they would match up like that.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I think they I don't want Christian Gazellez covering Dante Smith.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I don't think that's a great matchup.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I think you're gonna have to I think I think
- 34:38Speaker 1: Marcus Jones could be in there doubling Mark DeVante Smith,
- 34:44Speaker 1: you know, not not one on one, but doubling him,
- 34:47Speaker 1: and he's one of the doubles because of his speed.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I worry about that.
- 34:51Speaker 8: I mean, it's not gonna make you feel better, but
- 34:53Speaker 8: I kind of lean more towards Myles Bryant just with
- 34:56Speaker 8: his experience, and I know, you know, some people have
- 34:58Speaker 8: PTSD with him, but he can play safety, he can
- 35:01Speaker 8: play in the slot, he can do a lot of stuff.
- 35:03Speaker 8: I think he'll he'll play significant snaps probably.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I don't.
- 35:06Speaker 4: I really don't know what to expect from Marcus Jones
- 35:08Speaker 4: at corner this weekend. I don't know. I don't know.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I don't want to see him one on one.
- 35:11Speaker 8: But yeah, yeah, but how much you need a slot
- 35:14Speaker 8: receiver that's, you know, a slot corner Like I understand what.
- 35:18Speaker 3: You're saying, Smith, Yeah, yeah, yeah, for Savante Smith. I
- 35:22Speaker 3: understand what friend's talking about. I just don't think Marcus
- 35:24Speaker 3: Jones has demonstrated any real ability to do that. Oh
- 35:27Speaker 3: Jonathan Jones has Jonathan Jones has done it to Tyreek Hill, right,
- 35:31Speaker 3: you know so Jonathan Jones, Now I'm not telling you
- 35:34Speaker 3: he's gonna take DeVante Smith out by himself, just like
- 35:36Speaker 3: with Tyreek Hill. It's Jonathan Jones with help over the top.
- 35:40Speaker 3: That's why I think that both of those guys are
- 35:42Speaker 3: worth You know, they don't have a ton of depth
- 35:44Speaker 3: at wide receiver. They still have Goddard, but I think
- 35:48Speaker 3: you can devote some extra bodies to both of those guys.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I'd say Bryant is the over the time Bryan Bryant,
- 35:54Speaker 3: you know is I would feel better, believe it or not,
- 35:56Speaker 3: with Bryant than Marcus Jones.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Ryl's and Walpole. What's up?
- 36:00Speaker 3: Oh, what happens to female callers?
- 36:05Speaker 1: Well, they don't.
- 36:06Speaker 3: They don't like us or people work. They just don't
- 36:09Speaker 3: like us people.
- 36:09Speaker 1: At work and the boss walks by you.
- 36:11Speaker 3: No, that's true too, You've got to be on the down.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Christian and Connecticut, what's up Christian?
- 36:17Speaker 11: Hey, guys, first time, long time big fan. I just
- 36:21Speaker 11: want to formally or verbally sign my petition to get
- 36:24Speaker 11: douced to get the whacking done.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 11: My question is yeah, second or third year player. Are
- 36:32Speaker 11: you expecting the biggest jump from this.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Year second.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Player? I colast Range.
- 36:42Speaker 8: I mean, I'd love for him too. I'm not really
- 36:45Speaker 8: I guess I'm just kind of waiting to see what happens.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I'm not really expecting player.
- 36:51Speaker 8: When you I mean, I don't know how much more
- 36:52Speaker 8: of a jump you could make, but I think just
- 36:53Speaker 8: playing well.
- 36:54Speaker 4: And who dang it.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I don't have a I don't
- 37:00Speaker 3: have a good one. I'm hoping you can't have to
- 37:02Speaker 3: say Mac Jones, well, yeah, third year it better bet.
- 37:06Speaker 1: But other than Mac Jones, I don't you think your
- 37:08Speaker 1: first round guard better have a good year.
- 37:11Speaker 8: I know I'm trying not to put that expectation on
- 37:13Speaker 8: it right now, but you're one hundred percent right right.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I mean that kind of what you thought about Isaiah
- 37:17Speaker 3: went No was Miami Isaiah win would be like one
- 37:22Speaker 3: of those guys. He's going to be All Pro guard
- 37:25Speaker 3: for Miami.
- 37:25Speaker 1: He's got to be an All Pro guard for Miami.
- 37:27Speaker 1: He's got to go. According to according to Mike Giardi,
- 37:30Speaker 1: he's going to be starting a guard.
- 37:33Speaker 3: He makes if he gets all Pro, not not Pro Bowl.
- 37:36Speaker 3: I don't care what We're going to have to all
- 37:38Speaker 3: for two years. It's going to be insufferable.
- 37:40Speaker 13: What do you think, Christian, I'm really hoping, I mean,
- 37:45Speaker 13: other than Mac obviously, I think cold, strange definitely in
- 37:49Speaker 13: the first round pick for you to kind of expect
- 37:51Speaker 13: him to play like one.
- 37:52Speaker 10: Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Okay, thanks, thanks for the call. Don't be a stranger.
- 37:57Speaker 4: He's right, I just got to be harder on him.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I don't know if it's there.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Donnie's in Pittsburgh. What's up, Donnie, Donny Pittsburgh.
- 38:07Speaker 14: Thanks Big McCall Again, Donny Shell produced very relatable entrance
- 38:11Speaker 14: to the show today with that water bottle spill there.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 38:16Speaker 14: Just on the theme of NFL Opening Day today, guys,
- 38:18Speaker 14: I've been hearing, you know from talking heads around the media,
- 38:21Speaker 14: this team is going to progress. You know, Bengals bills
- 38:23Speaker 14: cheap rather than those rosters. Regretting you, guys think that
- 38:27Speaker 14: enough time has passed in this mobile quarterback era that
- 38:30Speaker 14: teams and gms around the league have adjusted the defensive
- 38:33Speaker 14: playbooks and personnel enough that life is going to be
- 38:36Speaker 14: difficult for a lot of those guys this season.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I don't.
- 38:40Speaker 3: As long as they're healthy.
- 38:41Speaker 8: I just think it's an inevitable advantage when you have
- 38:43Speaker 8: a quarterback that can run. It's just there's an extra gap,
- 38:46Speaker 8: you know, It's just the geometry of football.
- 38:49Speaker 4: It makes it harder and.
- 38:49Speaker 3: It's dual threat guys we're talking about not just runners,
- 38:52Speaker 3: right right, So yeah, I think as long as they're healthy.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I think that's the big fear, is that you can't
- 38:57Speaker 3: keep those guys consistently healthy.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Year of the year.
- 39:00Speaker 3: That's what Baltimore's rolling the dice on with Lamar, Like
- 39:04Speaker 3: can he play seventeen games, which he hasn't done the
- 39:06Speaker 3: last two years?
- 39:07Speaker 14: Yep.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 5: I mean even looking at Kyler Murray, it's like.
- 39:09Speaker 3: But they don't get shut down.
- 39:11Speaker 1: No, you have to get to him quick. You know.
- 39:14Speaker 3: The ones that can run and throw do not get
- 39:16Speaker 3: shut down consistently.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Nope.
- 39:19Speaker 4: It's it's a tough there's just no easy answer.
- 39:21Speaker 8: And I mean it's like, you know, spend all week
- 39:23Speaker 8: of like what shouldould the defense play? Like you have
- 39:26Speaker 8: to just play better than them. It doesn't really matter
- 39:28Speaker 8: what you play. You just have to dominate the line
- 39:30Speaker 8: of scrimmage and beat their guys and get in there
- 39:32Speaker 8: and cause disruption. It doesn't matter if you're playing zoner
- 39:35Speaker 8: man behind it. It's about the guys up front that
- 39:38Speaker 8: you know, can disrupt what they do.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Pressure, you know, yeah, make them uncomfortable.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Thanks Donnie. Let's go to Eldred in North Carolina. Hey, Eldred, Hey,
- 39:51Speaker 1: all right? How you doing? Question?
- 39:54Speaker 15: Is a key on White?
- 39:55Speaker 10: Is he a deeps of tackle?
- 39:57Speaker 1: Deeps of both? Yeah. I think he's an end in
- 40:01Speaker 1: the Seymour type of you know, three three man alignment
- 40:05Speaker 1: type end. I don't think he's a pure defensive end
- 40:08Speaker 1: like Chandler Jones, but you know.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I would agree, yeah, you know yeah, and then he
- 40:13Speaker 3: can be an interior guy in sub packages.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 8: That so, I'm just curious how his power translates, especially
- 40:19Speaker 8: against a really good NFL line. I mean, that's I
- 40:21Speaker 8: think kind of the knock on him. Not a lot
- 40:23Speaker 8: of versatility in his past rush. He just kind of
- 40:25Speaker 8: runs into the guy and he overpowers some guys. He's
- 40:27Speaker 8: not going to overpower Eagles, you know, the Eagles offensive line.
- 40:30Speaker 4: So, but I think he's he can do a lot.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:33Speaker 4: They tried him.
- 40:33Speaker 8: Standing up in the spring a little bit and then
- 40:35Speaker 8: seemed like he was back at defensive end in the summer.
- 40:38Speaker 14: If you have a get Betzali, we've got to take
- 40:42Speaker 14: out lumps.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Like I say, he's a he's a rookie, and if.
- 40:45Speaker 5: AJ is his assignment, give it to him to like
- 40:48Speaker 5: sol to last year.
- 40:50Speaker 7: Just give to him.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he's gonna have to take this lumps and have
- 40:54Speaker 1: a short memory. Yeah all right, thank you, all right, thanks.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I would just caution like, yeah, like Sauce did it,
- 41:03Speaker 3: you know, Patrick Sutan did it? How did Derek Stingley
- 41:06Speaker 3: do you know? Just taking a little while and now
- 41:09Speaker 3: he's a good player. But they don't all come in
- 41:12Speaker 3: immediately and get that number one assignment and just dominate,
- 41:17Speaker 3: Like it's hard for a lot of guys.
- 41:19Speaker 4: As alast twenty one. He looks young too, Like you know,
- 41:22Speaker 4: it's I.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Think he's gonna look young so he can't cover a j.
- 41:27Speaker 4: I mean, he looks his age.
- 41:28Speaker 3: You just look at that guy.
- 41:29Speaker 4: You just look at him and you're like you're still kid.
- 41:32Speaker 8: But I I I think he's got enough athleticism that
- 41:34Speaker 8: the learning curve won't be that crazy, Like you know,
- 41:37Speaker 8: it's just he can stick with guys.
- 41:39Speaker 3: I'll be really high. I'm really high on I just
- 41:40Speaker 3: don't see the out muscle for the ball when it's
- 41:42Speaker 3: like when he's right there and.
- 41:44Speaker 1: The muscle right about.
- 41:45Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, the strength is a question, but the fluidity isn't.
- 41:49Speaker 8: He looks really like and like, you know, like like
- 41:51Speaker 8: Paul said, uh, you know the other week was you know,
- 41:54Speaker 8: just the ability to recover, you know, so like he
- 41:56Speaker 8: can make mistakes, but he's fast enough and quick enough
- 41:58Speaker 8: and that he can get almost back into position.
- 42:01Speaker 3: So that's what you learn about the guys when things
- 42:03Speaker 3: go wrong. How do they react? And you know, I
- 42:07Speaker 3: used to say this all the time, like some young
- 42:09Speaker 3: quarterbacks like Peyton Manning used to watch even my guy,
- 42:12Speaker 3: you know, obviously I'm you know, not the most unbiased
- 42:16Speaker 3: Drew Bledsoe like in his rookie year he had some
- 42:21Speaker 3: games that just nothing was going right. But then at
- 42:23Speaker 3: the end of the game they go right down the
- 42:26Speaker 3: field and you'd be like, anybody can have a great game,
- 42:29Speaker 3: you know, it happens. Guys play well, you know, and
- 42:33Speaker 3: then what do you do when you didn't play well
- 42:34Speaker 3: with three quarters but the game is still on the line,
- 42:36Speaker 3: you have a chance to steal it with one drive?
- 42:38Speaker 3: Can you put a drive together, and that's when you
- 42:41Speaker 3: learn about some guys. And I think Gonzalez has had
- 42:43Speaker 3: a little of that. Like, you know, he would get beat,
- 42:46Speaker 3: but it didn't Matt, like the next play was different,
- 42:48Speaker 3: or that play that we keep probably focusing on a
- 42:52Speaker 3: little too much. He gets beat on a double move,
- 42:54Speaker 3: it didn't matter, got himself back in position to make
- 42:57Speaker 3: a play.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Paul.
- 42:58Speaker 5: That reminded me of was it Trevor?
- 43:00Speaker 7: Was it against the Chargers where he had like five
- 43:03Speaker 7: or six picks and then they came back to win.
- 43:05Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, four picks in the first half and
- 43:07Speaker 3: they win the game. Remember you know that's hard yep,
- 43:10Speaker 3: I mean harder than if you just like blew them out. Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Some coordinator zaps.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Here, evan here. Wow. So did that take you by
- 43:18Speaker 1: surprise when Mac said that?
- 43:20Speaker 3: No?
- 43:20Speaker 17: Absolutely, I I don't like it.
- 43:25Speaker 1: No, No, I'm not.
- 43:27Speaker 17: I'm not like mad at him or anything, but I
- 43:29Speaker 17: don't like the attention.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Were the other writers grumbling and grousing?
- 43:34Speaker 17: There was definitely some some some talk about it, some tweets,
- 43:38Speaker 17: some tweets, okay, but.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Grousing all No, no, grouse. Do you tell me why
- 43:42Speaker 3: you're aware of dress that you're aware. Oh yeah, I'm sure.
- 43:44Speaker 17: Now it's you know now that I'm Mike and I
- 43:46Speaker 17: have free reign to do whatever we want.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Anybody you let us know what we have.
- 43:51Speaker 1: To get involved.
- 43:52Speaker 5: If it was me grousing, we have to redress.
- 43:55Speaker 3: The internal turmoil.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I get to go. Yeah, So what news do you bring,
- 44:01Speaker 1: Evan Lazar?
- 44:03Speaker 18: Can we play the jingle today?
- 44:07Speaker 5: That's so good?
- 44:09Speaker 1: Uh has returned and has returned?
- 44:17Speaker 3: Has returned there? All right?
- 44:23Speaker 17: It was a scorcher out at Patriots practice today, very
- 44:28Speaker 17: hot out there. So I think that they're gonna have
- 44:31Speaker 17: a little bit of a shorter day, more of a
- 44:33Speaker 17: Friday schedule, a little bit shorter practice. But the lone
- 44:37Speaker 17: player missing from practice was cornerback Jack Jones. So Jack
- 44:41Speaker 17: Jones was on the injury report yesterday with the hamstring injury.
- 44:45Speaker 17: Obviously we know what's going on this week with Jack
- 44:48Speaker 17: Jones off the field as well. I don't want to
- 44:49Speaker 17: speculate it has anything to do with that, but he
- 44:52Speaker 17: has got two possible reasons of why he wasn't out there,
- 44:55Speaker 17: I suppose in the hamstring.
- 44:58Speaker 3: The hamstring injury.
- 44:59Speaker 17: Is is what popped up yesterday on the injury report,
- 45:03Speaker 17: So maybe it's that. And other than that, everybody else
- 45:06Speaker 17: was out there no paths today a lighter day, So
- 45:09Speaker 17: we'll see what we get in the injury report later today.
- 45:13Speaker 3: You know, if they were.
- 45:14Speaker 4: Moving, he was out there.
- 45:15Speaker 3: You know a lot of these.
- 45:17Speaker 17: This practice seemed like it was going to be pretty light,
- 45:19Speaker 17: so I wouldn't take away much of a participation or anything.
- 45:23Speaker 17: And we also got cut off pretty short. It was
- 45:25Speaker 17: just stretching.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I think the weather's pretty hot in Philly too, so
- 45:28Speaker 1: that's what they said, 'runn even playing there?
- 45:31Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah, so it's uh yeah. I mean, look, I
- 45:34Speaker 17: think that they're relatively healthy, which you would expect for
- 45:37Speaker 17: a week one.
- 45:38Speaker 3: It would be.
- 45:38Speaker 17: Problematic if you had guys that are already injured or
- 45:41Speaker 17: something like that. But I think for the most part,
- 45:43Speaker 17: they're relatively healthy. And I would assume, and this is
- 45:47Speaker 17: just me, I would assume that most of the guys
- 45:49Speaker 17: are going to be out there. What capacity they play
- 45:52Speaker 17: on Sunday and how much on WHENU and Strange play
- 45:55Speaker 17: in the game, we'll see, but I would be pretty
- 45:57Speaker 17: surprised if they were not dressed for the game.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Okay, all right, and media were they still upset about
- 46:04Speaker 1: the weather.
- 46:06Speaker 17: Or No, not a lot of grossing about the weather.
- 46:09Speaker 17: I think we all anticipated the weather and knew what
- 46:11Speaker 17: we were getting ourselves into. We did wait a little
- 46:15Speaker 17: bit longer today than yesterday to go out to practice,
- 46:18Speaker 17: so we got to stay in the air conditioning for
- 46:20Speaker 17: an extra couple of minutes. Yesterday we stood out there
- 46:22Speaker 17: for about twenty minutes and ninety degrees and people started
- 46:25Speaker 17: to get cranky naturally.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely, Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Are there a lot of new faces in the smaller
- 46:33Speaker 1: media contingent for practices?
- 46:35Speaker 3: Oh?
- 46:36Speaker 17: No, not really, too many new faces. I mean, we
- 46:39Speaker 17: know the Globe had some movement. So Chris Price is
- 46:42Speaker 17: now back on the beat, and Doug is here, GRD's
- 46:47Speaker 17: here full time.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Now what's Charty working for Boston Sports Journal. Oh that's right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:53Speaker 3: it's writing, So there's there. It's same faces, but just
- 46:57Speaker 3: new places.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Shuffle the dead yeah yeah, okay. And the mood of
- 47:03Speaker 1: the team.
- 47:03Speaker 17: If you would, I thought it was, you know, light light, Yeah,
- 47:09Speaker 17: I don't think that. Like I said, Thursday is usually
- 47:13Speaker 17: a pretty heavy third down red zone practice. Wednesday is
- 47:18Speaker 17: usually a practice for the most part, is more about
- 47:22Speaker 17: you know us, right, Like we're gonna put the pads
- 47:24Speaker 17: on and we're going to work on some things that
- 47:25Speaker 17: we need to clean up. And Thursday, Friday or the
- 47:27Speaker 17: game plan heavy practices, So I'd assume today is going
- 47:31Speaker 17: to be like a tempo to walk through of what
- 47:34Speaker 17: are we going to do in this down and distance,
- 47:36Speaker 17: this situation, that type of thing.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Okay, and coaches wearing heavy sweatshirts, a lot of them.
- 47:41Speaker 17: Well, no coaches that I noticed wearing heavy sweatshirts. But
- 47:45Speaker 17: the Big Boss was out there today, long sleeves and
- 47:49Speaker 17: a long sleep button down. So yeah, that was he
- 47:54Speaker 17: was out there, and I'm talking about mister Kraft, of course,
- 47:57Speaker 17: and he was talking to Bill Belichick for a little
- 48:00Speaker 17: bit about something that they were chatting in the middle
- 48:03Speaker 17: of the field as players were stretching around them as
- 48:06Speaker 17: the to the brain Trust right there on the on
- 48:08Speaker 17: the fifty yard line, So that was that was interesting.
- 48:11Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, no sweatshirt from Bill.
- 48:13Speaker 8: I thought I should probably check the pictures.
- 48:16Speaker 5: Was it the red cutoff sweatshirt?
- 48:17Speaker 17: No, no, I think he was. He was wearing a
- 48:22Speaker 17: T shirt.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Not about to look at practice.
- 48:24Speaker 4: It's like seventy five dumb questions from.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I don't remember him what Belichick was wearing. Here's a
- 48:30Speaker 3: question that you probably also can't answer, which is also
- 48:32Speaker 3: unfair Jack Jones, going back before yesterday, had you noticed
- 48:37Speaker 3: anything with him mobility wise that he was dealing with
- 48:40Speaker 3: anything before yesterday? No? Did you notice him not moving
- 48:43Speaker 3: well yesterday? In other words, what I'm saying is did
- 48:46Speaker 3: he pull a hamstring and practice yesterday? So, and that's
- 48:49Speaker 3: why he was limited yesterday and not there today.
- 48:52Speaker 17: So purely conjecture on my part, that was my inclination
- 48:57Speaker 17: or my my feeling on it, was that maybe something
- 49:01Speaker 17: happened to him because we were watching practice at the
- 49:04Speaker 17: beginning of practice yesterday and we got we got positional
- 49:07Speaker 17: drills yesterday for access and and he was going through
- 49:11Speaker 17: the drills just fine.
- 49:12Speaker 3: It was moving great. That would be my concern. So
- 49:14Speaker 3: something happened yesterday, Yeah, that's why he wasn't there today.
- 49:17Speaker 17: Yeah, And I know Reese surmised that Trent Brown's illness
- 49:20Speaker 17: that was on the injury report might have been due
- 49:22Speaker 17: to the heat that was not good. So that was
- 49:25Speaker 17: another guy that maybe had an issue in practice that
- 49:29Speaker 17: wasn't previously.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Hopefully he's removed from the list today. Trent Brown no
- 49:34Speaker 3: I know it was going to bet on Sunday. It
- 49:37Speaker 3: might not be a sunny place.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Hydrate that like is a fan?
- 49:43Speaker 5: Have you seen have you seen those like ivs? Like
- 49:48Speaker 5: those ivs instantly hydrate.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm sure that's the post hangover to I'm
- 49:54Speaker 3: sure that they have the college age kids. I may
- 49:56Speaker 3: or may not be speaking from experiences.
- 49:59Speaker 1: You have to win hydrating now. You can't wait until
- 50:02Speaker 1: you got to start now to be ready for Sunday.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Who uh.
- 50:05Speaker 17: Calvin Munson in Tennessee because it's brutally hot in Tennessee.
- 50:09Speaker 17: For that preseason game, he said that he spent three
- 50:12Speaker 17: days hydrating, like he was just drinking as much water
- 50:16Speaker 17: as he possibly could for three He played a lot
- 50:18Speaker 17: for three straight days, played a ton in the game,
- 50:21Speaker 17: and then he said that he probably put on like
- 50:23Speaker 17: five to ten pounds of water weight by drinking, and
- 50:25Speaker 17: just all of it just evaporated within like the first
- 50:28Speaker 17: half of the game.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Hundred pounds of waterweight.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's a lot of waterway me too.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Zamir is in Maine. What's up, Zamir?
- 50:37Speaker 19: Hey, I have a.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Question, You have a okay?
- 50:47Speaker 19: And I was talking to my wife the other day,
- 50:49Speaker 19: and I was telling her about how I think hilarious
- 50:51Speaker 19: when you guys actually swear on the show, and how
- 50:55Speaker 19: Fute will drop us at bomb and weeks ago call
- 50:58Speaker 19: to Ull.
- 51:00Speaker 13: Do you guys get like, no, no, no, we're not
- 51:05Speaker 13: we're not subject to those rules.
- 51:07Speaker 1: But you know, it's a family show.
- 51:09Speaker 3: And we just work for the organization. We don't want.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Nothing happens, but it's just, you know, we try to
- 51:14Speaker 1: regulate ourselves.
- 51:17Speaker 19: Yeah, totally, I did.
- 51:18Speaker 18: I couldn't.
- 51:18Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 51:19Speaker 19: If you guys get in trouble.
- 51:20Speaker 4: No, no disclaimer at the start of the show.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we have a disclaimer.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, it's my first one several years. I haven't
- 51:29Speaker 3: I don't even remember through it.
- 51:31Speaker 4: You didn't even realize.
- 51:31Speaker 1: I hope Samir's parachute comes out.
- 51:34Speaker 3: It seems that'd be Yeah, that would be unfortunate. Yeah,
- 51:38Speaker 3: that'd be tough.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Web Radio at patriot dot com is the email address
- 51:44Speaker 1: John and the Pocono's Rights, and he says this year
- 51:47Speaker 1: was running one dollar on everyone of Paul's over under picks.
- 51:52Speaker 1: No pressure, Paul, but I have twin babies who have
- 51:54Speaker 1: gone grown accustomed to those diapers. I've been I.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Would ignore my over under picks because if you ask
- 52:00Speaker 3: the same questions multiple days, I'm probably going to give
- 52:02Speaker 3: you different answers. I hopefully don't give them all. Oh
- 52:07Speaker 3: we're talking about on the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 52:09Speaker 3: do dominate in that regard. I have a feel for
- 52:13Speaker 3: the league this year. I have a feel for the
- 52:15Speaker 3: individual games.
- 52:16Speaker 4: How do you feel about tonight?
- 52:17Speaker 7: No?
- 52:17Speaker 4: Remember, it's kind of funny.
- 52:19Speaker 8: We talked about Mahomes and you know, Travis Kelcey and
- 52:21Speaker 8: all that stuff that was going to be without them,
- 52:23Speaker 8: Well it's all going to fall apart completely.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Christ and Colfax California. So many people are quick to
- 52:30Speaker 1: call for the Foxborough flu with rookies, but aside from
- 52:34Speaker 1: running backs, I can't think of a scenario where that
- 52:36Speaker 1: actually worked, where the player came off i R after
- 52:39Speaker 1: their rookie season and actually contributed.
- 52:43Speaker 17: Actually contributed, or that happened in general, because I can
- 52:46Speaker 17: think of several examples of it happening in general, but
- 52:48Speaker 17: can turning out to be contributors.
- 52:50Speaker 3: I these are two different things too, Like going from
- 52:54Speaker 3: the you're talking about like spending a year on IR
- 52:56Speaker 3: because that's the Foxborough flu right right going into the
- 53:01Speaker 3: practice squad and then getting promoted is not the Foxborough
- 53:04Speaker 3: flu or.
- 53:05Speaker 5: Does he mean like getting hurt and going on IR?
- 53:08Speaker 3: Like if Isaiah Bolden next year is like the third corner,
- 53:12Speaker 3: that would be an example of a guy who got
- 53:14Speaker 3: the Foxborough flu and contributed the next year. Well, but
- 53:19Speaker 3: he got hurt. No, No, I know that, but there's always
- 53:21Speaker 3: something Yes, that's fair, and I would agree with the
- 53:24Speaker 3: premise of the email is I don't think most guys
- 53:27Speaker 3: that are stashed on IR with my like, listen, I
- 53:31Speaker 3: don't know what Isaiah Bolden situation. My guess is he
- 53:33Speaker 3: had a concussion and it was going to keep him
- 53:35Speaker 3: out for at least the first part of the season,
- 53:38Speaker 3: not the whole year. If it's the whole year, then
- 53:41Speaker 3: you know that's he's He's got individually bigger problems with
- 53:45Speaker 3: in terms of his career, Right they make that.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Risk reward, like is it worth holding the spot for him?
- 53:50Speaker 8: You know, I don't know if he's qualified, but I
- 53:52Speaker 8: remember Jawan Bentley got hurt early in his rookie year
- 53:55Speaker 8: and didn't really play, but he started his first game,
- 53:58Speaker 8: so that doesn't count. Trey Flowers and he got I
- 54:00Speaker 8: think hurt in the preseason.
- 54:01Speaker 17: Yeah, but Trey Flowers towards a CL didn't he like
- 54:04Speaker 17: that was like a pretty severe that's what he said.
- 54:07Speaker 4: I mean I didn't.
- 54:09Speaker 3: I wouldn't if that's if I have no recollection of
- 54:11Speaker 3: that at all. If but if that happened, I ain't.
- 54:13Speaker 3: It was maybe it might not have been an a
- 54:16Speaker 3: c L.
- 54:16Speaker 1: But he had.
- 54:17Speaker 17: It's like a Bolden situation where it's like, Okay, this
- 54:19Speaker 17: guy's clearly hurt, Like it wasn't Foxborough Fluid to me
- 54:22Speaker 17: is when like the guy pulls a hammy and practice
- 54:24Speaker 17: and all of a sudden he's on season ending and he's.
- 54:26Speaker 3: A young guy. We think he's worth spend a little
- 54:29Speaker 3: extra time developing, will put him on.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I off, Hell, do.
- 54:33Speaker 5: You think Gregan McMillan is being stashed.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Towards a CL?
- 54:40Speaker 1: Was Helenic flew the origin of this because that's Celtics
- 54:44Speaker 1: used to do it, and they they they used to
- 54:46Speaker 1: practice at Hellenic College and so they call it the
- 54:49Speaker 1: Hellenic flu Oh yeah.
- 54:51Speaker 3: You're right, But was that the origins or something? That's
- 54:54Speaker 3: the first I had ever heard.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Like Helena Troy Helen Hellenic Hellenic College.
- 55:00Speaker 3: It's a Greek school.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Obviously.
- 55:02Speaker 20: Oh.
- 55:02Speaker 17: No, so Trey Flowers didn't. I think it was a
- 55:05Speaker 17: c I might have been in college. So he got
- 55:07Speaker 17: a shoulder injury as a rookie, but just didn't play
- 55:11Speaker 17: like he was a healthy scratch. You can't go on
- 55:13Speaker 17: ir until December of his.
- 55:15Speaker 3: Rookie season, so he didn't play his rookie year. Correct,
- 55:17Speaker 3: he only played one game. Second of things, they just
- 55:20Speaker 3: like disappear out of my head, if I am surprised.
- 55:23Speaker 3: I'm concerned.
- 55:23Speaker 1: If Bill retired after the season and Robert Kraft asked
- 55:26Speaker 1: each of you to choose between Billy Oh and Gerard
- 55:28Speaker 1: Mayo to take over as head coach, who would you
- 55:31Speaker 1: choose and why?
- 55:34Speaker 3: And I can't pick a different option. No, I would
- 55:38Speaker 3: pick Billy Oh because I'm more concerned about offense. I
- 55:42Speaker 3: wont an offensive coach disrespect to Mayo, who I absolutely love.
- 55:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I like both those guys. I think either one
- 55:48Speaker 4: would be probably pretty good for us, but I'd probably Oh.
- 55:51Speaker 3: I think either one of them would would be good
- 55:53Speaker 3: for us individually. Yeah, that's a show.
- 55:55Speaker 7: I definitely think Billy Oh too, just would be great
- 55:58Speaker 7: to have just a coach more focus on offense. But
- 56:01Speaker 7: I think that it would be nice to actually name
- 56:03Speaker 7: a defensive coordinator as well.
- 56:04Speaker 1: I take Jerrod just because his relation to the players,
- 56:09Speaker 1: and you keep, hopefully keep Billy Oh as that uber coordinator.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Let's focus on the doesn't have to worry about that,
- 56:16Speaker 1: you know.
- 56:17Speaker 17: That's my concern is, this is what happens with defensive
- 56:20Speaker 17: minded head coaches, is that their offensive coordinators get poached,
- 56:23Speaker 17: and then every two years you're changing offensive coordinators. And
- 56:27Speaker 17: that's why a lot of teams you do.
- 56:28Speaker 3: For all the reasons what you're all valid reasons you
- 56:31Speaker 3: just have, But why couldn't you just do that the
- 56:32Speaker 3: other way around? Why couldn't you want to keep Billy
- 56:35Speaker 3: Oh and then have Mayo stay and keep all the
- 56:38Speaker 3: defense intact and do you know with that relationship with
- 56:41Speaker 3: the player and all that stuff.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I just think, you know, i've seen
- 56:44Speaker 1: Billy Oh as.
- 56:45Speaker 3: A head coach, you anti offensive.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I just want to see what we're told he's
- 56:53Speaker 1: like this great leader of men. All right, Well, let's see.
- 56:56Speaker 5: I think you might need a GM too, Like I
- 56:58Speaker 5: don't think. I don't know, Yeah, I think I think
- 57:00Speaker 5: he would need oh yeah, sure, that would.
- 57:01Speaker 17: Be my worry with Billy Oh is that he'd want
- 57:03Speaker 17: to want all the power like he had in Houston
- 57:05Speaker 17: in the end, and you don't want that.
- 57:07Speaker 3: And it gets mad at somebody, and all of a
- 57:08Speaker 3: sudden the whole course of the franchise is altered.
- 57:11Speaker 17: Absolutely love him as an offensive coordinator, as you all know,
- 57:13Speaker 17: but as a GM No, no, thank you.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see Nick and Weymouth Mass. Do you have
- 57:19Speaker 1: any more information regarding the ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating this
- 57:23Speaker 1: completion of the renovations that Julette Stadium? Is it open
- 57:26Speaker 1: to the public, that's today six o'clock.
- 57:30Speaker 3: That open to the public.
- 57:31Speaker 4: I don't believe it's the media.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll have clips of it on Patriots dot com,
- 57:36Speaker 1: the highlights. You know, it's just ceremonial.
- 57:39Speaker 3: You don't need to come to that.
- 57:41Speaker 7: No.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think suddenly Zampasi is dictating what is worthy.
- 57:48Speaker 1: You know.
- 57:50Speaker 3: That's not new. I tell you what's important is.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Austin and North Carolina. He says. Have you all had
- 57:59Speaker 1: arguments or disagreements that carried on after the show? If so,
- 58:03Speaker 1: what are some ways you resolve or make up or
- 58:06Speaker 1: is there a mutual agreement that happens on the show
- 58:08Speaker 1: stays on the show.
- 58:09Speaker 4: It's almost comical.
- 58:10Speaker 8: I mean, I'm only gonna speak to you guys because
- 58:12Speaker 8: you're the ones who get into it a lot. But
- 58:14Speaker 8: like it's funny. It's like literally yelling each other's show,
- 58:16Speaker 8: that's a good show. We all walked back smiles. There's
- 58:18Speaker 8: never must have been like I've never once had a carry.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I think with Andy there might have been something.
- 58:23Speaker 3: I know Andy has a way of arguing that makes
- 58:27Speaker 3: it well personal, it's a more personal style. But even
- 58:31Speaker 3: then I agree, like Fred and I have had many
- 58:33Speaker 3: arguments and then we kind of laugh about it as
- 58:36Speaker 3: we're walking back to me.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I kicked Andy off the show once. Literally it was
- 58:40Speaker 1: we were in Jacksonville, Jacksonville.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a super Bowl one of the times
- 58:44Speaker 3: when I wasn't around to protect Andy.
- 58:45Speaker 1: From himself and he just went over the line.
- 58:47Speaker 3: It's called Corey doing something that he shouldn't have said.
- 58:50Speaker 1: I just go you're off the show. I kicked him
- 58:53Speaker 1: off the show.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Child happened?
- 58:56Speaker 5: Is there video on this show?
- 58:58Speaker 21: No?
- 58:58Speaker 3: No, it was super Bowl back before camera super Bowl,
- 59:01Speaker 3: so February of five, and after as soon as the
- 59:06Speaker 3: show ended, Fred when he went up to sorry Fred,
- 59:11Speaker 3: it's like hat in the end.
- 59:12Speaker 17: Yesterday that was good yesterday. Yes I I really thought
- 59:16Speaker 17: you guys were mad at each other for a second
- 59:17Speaker 17: and I was nervous, Like.
- 59:23Speaker 3: You're talking about the Jack Jones. Yeah, I backed out
- 59:26Speaker 3: of that when I realized Fred was serious about that one.
- 59:29Speaker 3: I pulled back on the reins, like even even stubborn
- 59:32Speaker 3: Paul sometimes know when to say when I think that
- 59:36Speaker 3: one was a little too uh too important. I enjoyed it.
- 59:40Speaker 1: It's good. I have no I have no more.
- 59:43Speaker 3: Opinions on Jack Jones. I will keep those to myself.
- 59:48Speaker 1: You know, you just can't go overboard with it or
- 59:50Speaker 1: make it too much.
- 59:51Speaker 7: I also just think it's boring when everyone thinks the same,
- 59:54Speaker 7: Like you want to have a little bit.
- 59:55Speaker 1: Of absolutely you know.
- 59:57Speaker 8: Yeah, Paul will not allow that to happen. You can
- 59:59Speaker 8: play either out of the fence. No matter what you fail,
- 1:00:01Speaker 8: He'll he'll come at you and make sure you feel
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: that way for sure.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Now he's now he's being a little bit of a stinker.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: But just to you peel behind the curtain a little bit.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: When we do a little trash talk every week, I
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: gotta take the easy one and we come up with different,
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: you know, different topics, and they're thrown around and I
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: always say, okay, yeah, we could do that one. I go, Douce,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: what do you want?
- 1:00:24Speaker 10: You?
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Always I always make him pick. I go, I'll just
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: take the other, and I take the easy one.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: I'm like, what do I really think?
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: Because I don't if I try to like fake it,
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: I feel like I'm gonna have one thing to say
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: and then five more minutes to go.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: And if it's like a really bad example of one
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: that I felt that Duce had the right side, Like
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: that was the side I just argued for the sake
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: of arguing when it's all right.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: You're right.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: I don't know how you do that. I like, I
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: have to be on the side that I think is right,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Like I can't argue just I will argue something that's
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: like inarguable, Like if you say.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Hopefully you pick something that does have both right, yeah, like.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: There're always something that can be argued both sides. If
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: you can't be, then I you don't pick that topic.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: I say, no, that's a dumb argument the other way,
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: and we picked something else.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: So what did y'all? What did y'all pick this week?
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: I think it was what is the AFC least now
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: the AFC.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Beast, Yeah, is the best division in football?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, that was a drag out. That was just
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: a drag out.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah, Mike had that it is the best division and
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: I probably agree that it is, but I think you
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: can make an argument for the AFC North I so
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: I made the argument for it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: And we also highlighted you know that there's a lot
- 1:01:28Speaker 8: of people saying that Miami and Bills might take a step.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: Back, and the Jets are still the Jets, so you
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: know there's there's wiggle rooms.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Not like it make stuff up, all right. Bridgestone is

- 1:03:09Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:03:10Speaker 16: Do you guys even know that?

- 1:03:24Speaker 16: This is a fun one today, guys, we're gonna talk
- 1:03:27Speaker 16: about the top fantasy football punishments that.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: You can do.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 1:03:31Speaker 18: I did so much crowdsourcing, all.
- 1:03:33Speaker 16: Right, Alix started off, started off, Okay, So.
- 1:03:38Speaker 22: Which one do I even start with? Because I have
- 1:03:40Speaker 22: three on the top of my head. Two of them
- 1:03:42Speaker 22: my friends have actually had to do. When I just
- 1:03:45Speaker 22: saw on TikTok and I thought it was the most
- 1:03:46Speaker 22: outlandish thing ever. I'm gonna save the best for last,
- 1:03:49Speaker 22: and I'm gonna start my friend George nesson Zone. George
- 1:03:53Speaker 22: Brajeckie had to do a lemonade stands in his hometown
- 1:03:58Speaker 22: for like twelve until he made a certain amount of money.
- 1:04:02Speaker 18: For losing his league.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Did the winner get the money.
- 1:04:05Speaker 22: And he was definitely dressed up in some type of
- 1:04:07Speaker 22: mascot type outfit or something.
- 1:04:10Speaker 18: It's I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:04:12Speaker 23: This is a long time the money, but it had
- 1:04:15Speaker 23: to get customers, Like I ed, it was a busy
- 1:04:18Speaker 23: park from what it looked like and I know he
- 1:04:20Speaker 23: was home in New Jersey, so hopefully it wasn't his hometown.
- 1:04:23Speaker 22: And like his old high school crushes or driving vising
- 1:04:26Speaker 22: this man doing a lemonade stands.
- 1:04:29Speaker 16: I have had some bad ones, all right. I did
- 1:04:31Speaker 16: this one for f loss, and I didn't lose, but
- 1:04:33Speaker 16: I was closed for this one. This was for fancy premier,
- 1:04:36Speaker 16: like I also do fancy football, the same thing, fancy punishments.
- 1:04:40Speaker 16: The loser had to go to a comedy club and
- 1:04:43Speaker 16: do stand up and I was like, I was so
- 1:04:47Speaker 16: like firmly and second to last place that every morning
- 1:04:50Speaker 16: before I came into Jile Stadium, I practiced my cold
- 1:04:52Speaker 16: open in the shower because like, I was locked in
- 1:04:54Speaker 16: for this. And I went on a three game winning
- 1:04:56Speaker 16: streak at the end and somehow got out of it,
- 1:04:58Speaker 16: so my friend.
- 1:04:59Speaker 24: Had to do it.
- 1:04:59Speaker 18: Hey, that's why you prepare for the worst, get surprised with.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: So what you're saying is you have a set.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Prepared, Yes, prepared.
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: You're not going to hear it all right after the.
- 1:05:08Speaker 24: Show, all right, Oh god, not me personally, not me personally,
- 1:05:15Speaker 24: but I have seen the internet roast these poor people
- 1:05:20Speaker 24: for just the most heinous punishments that you can think of.
- 1:05:23Speaker 24: I saw one just recently that a guy had to
- 1:05:26Speaker 24: take like a life sized I think it was a
- 1:05:29Speaker 24: Pooh Bear out to dinner at like a nice restaurant,
- 1:05:33Speaker 24: like a like a five star run. You have to
- 1:05:36Speaker 24: order for them to you have to order for them
- 1:05:39Speaker 24: and like act like everything is normal, Like act like
- 1:05:41Speaker 24: you're like out on a date with like a.
- 1:05:43Speaker 16: Life size I've seen those before, and that was also
- 1:05:45Speaker 16: floated in one.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: Of my least I love that idea. I think it's
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: so humiliating. The clip that I saw, they sang happy.
- 1:05:54Speaker 24: Birthday to him too, which is also hysterical, kind of
- 1:05:59Speaker 24: like I think it's hysterical.
- 1:06:01Speaker 18: Being in a restaurant and not really a table over
- 1:06:05Speaker 18: has to join.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:06:06Speaker 16: Would be worse, like a fancy restaurant or like you know,
- 1:06:08Speaker 16: like a fud Ruckers or something where like they're gonna
- 1:06:10Speaker 16: sing happy birthday to you, or I.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Would have.
- 1:06:14Speaker 18: Some strange people probably walk into fud Rockers.
- 1:06:18Speaker 24: I would make it a very expensive restaurant, like spend
- 1:06:21Speaker 24: some money and just witness, just witness people witnessing you
- 1:06:27Speaker 24: being out of your mind, because you know, not everybody
- 1:06:29Speaker 24: plays fantasy football, so not everybody's gonna get it, which
- 1:06:32Speaker 24: is hysterical to me.
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: I got a couple.
- 1:06:36Speaker 15: Yeah, this is a shout out to my fantasy football girlies.
- 1:06:39Speaker 15: This was a punishment we had last year. We actually
- 1:06:41Speaker 15: didn't execute because there was like twelve girls we had
- 1:06:44Speaker 15: to schedule around. But the punishment was everyone was to
- 1:06:48Speaker 15: go out to a bar in Boston. The loser had
- 1:06:50Speaker 15: to wear a clear backpack and everyone can put whatever
- 1:06:54Speaker 15: they whatever they wanted. It can be the most incriminating
- 1:06:59Speaker 15: thing ever.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: You had no idea.
- 1:07:00Speaker 15: You had to show up with the backpack and everyone
- 1:07:02Speaker 15: would just drop whatever in and you'd be out at.
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: The bars all night wearing it.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: You definitely supplied the back back What would you put
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: in the.
- 1:07:10Speaker 18: Like you got to have like super tampons and like
- 1:07:15Speaker 18: rash cream.
- 1:07:17Speaker 15: You can put some really incrimitive And with that many
- 1:07:21Speaker 15: girls in the league diapers, adult diapers, Yeah, something bad.
- 1:07:24Speaker 15: They were like twelve to fifteen, so the amount of
- 1:07:26Speaker 15: stuff that was going in there, it could have been bad.
- 1:07:30Speaker 24: What was the best one, What was the best idea
- 1:07:32Speaker 24: that was floated for something to put I don't think.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: People people exposed their ideas. They were keeping a surprise.
- 1:07:38Speaker 15: I like that.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: That's scary.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Wow, that might be repurposed.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a good one.
- 1:07:43Speaker 16: All right, Alex, go say the one you were saving,
- 1:07:45Speaker 16: because I think we might have the same one.
- 1:07:48Speaker 22: Okay, so I'll start with the medium one, which my
- 1:07:52Speaker 22: friend had to do. Shout out Chris Katillo, Red Sox
- 1:07:54Speaker 22: Beat writer from mass Live dot com.
- 1:07:56Speaker 18: This was either last season or the season prior.
- 1:07:59Speaker 22: Chris Katillo to go to an I hoop or Denny's
- 1:08:03Speaker 22: for a full twenty four hours and the only way
- 1:08:06Speaker 22: you can get your time shaved off is by eating
- 1:08:10Speaker 22: a stack of pancakes.
- 1:08:11Speaker 18: God that you think you.
- 1:08:13Speaker 22: Can do it, I think until you get there and
- 1:08:16Speaker 22: until you're faced with spending an entire day, it's in.
- 1:08:21Speaker 18: An eye.
- 1:08:23Speaker 16: And you have to like live tweet it too, and
- 1:08:24Speaker 16: then like you know, I've seen it, Like the waitress
- 1:08:26Speaker 16: gets involved and they're like they tell that. The shafts
- 1:08:29Speaker 16: are like, hey, this guy's gonna be here long.
- 1:08:31Speaker 22: Well, Catillo had an issue because he had to cash
- 1:08:33Speaker 22: out with his original waitress.
- 1:08:34Speaker 18: She's like, I'm trying to go home, but you want
- 1:08:39Speaker 18: the best one?
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yeah, do you want to go first?
- 1:08:42Speaker 15: Go for it?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Because I know I already know what is I think
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I heard this is.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: Yes, you definitely did.
- 1:08:46Speaker 22: This is by far the worst possible punishment I could
- 1:08:49Speaker 22: ever personally imagine.
- 1:08:50Speaker 18: I'm sure there's worse.
- 1:08:51Speaker 22: However, if you lose your fantasy football league, you must
- 1:08:56Speaker 22: then take public transportation, entirely public transportation, from wherever you
- 1:09:02Speaker 22: live to the hometown of your number one overall draft pick.
- 1:09:06Speaker 16: Oh, it's it's it's a tough world out there. Example
- 1:09:10Speaker 16: example being if you're in Boston and you draft Justin
- 1:09:13Speaker 16: Jefferson and you lose, where is he from? You're taking
- 1:09:15Speaker 16: a bus to Saint Saint Rose, Louisiana.
- 1:09:19Speaker 21: All right, that stresses the amount of money just to
- 1:09:26Speaker 21: turn around and come home, like look around, Oh cool,
- 1:09:29Speaker 21: this is this is East Wherever, Alabama.
- 1:09:32Speaker 18: Okay, now I'm coming home.
- 1:09:34Speaker 16: Just it is awful. I've heard that one, and I
- 1:09:37Speaker 16: heard you talk about yesterday.
- 1:09:39Speaker 18: I had a friend I'm purposely drafting a kid from California.
- 1:09:43Speaker 16: Yeah, I had a friend who in this league. The
- 1:09:48Speaker 16: loser had to take a bus from Boston to Cleveland.
- 1:09:52Speaker 18: The great your friend actually did that.
- 1:09:54Speaker 16: He had he didn't lose, he was in the league,
- 1:09:57Speaker 16: and the kid like live tweeted the whole thing, and
- 1:10:00Speaker 16: he was like, Yep, it's four am and I'm in
- 1:10:03Speaker 16: Syracuse now.
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: Or to take him like eight days.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it just took him so long.
- 1:10:07Speaker 18: It sounds like a traut.
- 1:10:10Speaker 16: Four am in Toronto, and I guess like you either
- 1:10:14Speaker 16: had to take the bus back or pay out of
- 1:10:16Speaker 16: your own pocket to fly back, which obviously just fly back.
- 1:10:19Speaker 16: There's just no way you can you can do that
- 1:10:21Speaker 16: bus round trip.
- 1:10:22Speaker 15: The mental anguish I would experience in some of these.
- 1:10:26Speaker 18: I feel like I would take a week off and
- 1:10:27Speaker 18: just make a trip out of it.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Stop.
- 1:10:29Speaker 18: There's got to be some interesting cities. There's got to
- 1:10:32Speaker 18: be some interesting cities at least along the way.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: I've done that.
- 1:10:38Speaker 16: I'm sorry, there's nothing there, all right. So it seems
- 1:10:41Speaker 16: like this is this is a hot topic that we
- 1:10:43Speaker 16: might be able to get.
- 1:10:44Speaker 22: I think that callers, you are sorry you guys don't
- 1:10:47Speaker 22: call into the show. Within a show, emailers email in
- 1:10:51Speaker 22: the worst punishments you've ever heard of. Maybe we make
- 1:10:54Speaker 22: an entire segment. I'm thinking out of what the emailers.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Have to say. Hey, I love it.
- 1:11:00Speaker 22: Therefore send us your worst punishments for fantasy football. What
- 1:11:04Speaker 22: whether it's something you heard, you saw it on social media,
- 1:11:07Speaker 22: something you've had to do personally within your own league.
- 1:11:10Speaker 18: I can't personally wait to hear them. This is my
- 1:11:12Speaker 18: favorite topic.
- 1:11:13Speaker 16: Yeah, it's the best.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I mean, football starts tonight, guys.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: It's been a long and creative too, but people are
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: already creative, but.
- 1:11:20Speaker 18: Get creative, guys.
- 1:11:21Speaker 16: Thank you for joining.
- 1:11:22Speaker 22: Shout out to the contact the supervisors coming in, thanks

- 1:12:22Speaker 1: History. Eric and Paul show a feeling for the league.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Jacksonville wins this game. They do, in fact, get that
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I took the Houston points.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: What about the cover? I took the hue and a
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: half Jacksonville by three and a half. Yeah, you took Jacksonville.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: So you want the point, you lay in the points.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: You believe this. They're gonna They're gonna win by more.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: He's winning on both sides.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: He's winning. They're gonna win now.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Want to know why I have that face?
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Some of these are not intentional?
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Yeah? Uh, this is your lock of the week. Upset
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: of the week Pittsburgh over the Titans. What was the
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: spread to two?
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: Huge drop? Set too?
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: They're gonna win by more, big upset. The New England
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: money is not coming in, So that worries me. That
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: worries me in this game.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: What do they know?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: What do they know? But I'm gonna say nothing. They
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: know nothing. Oh I thought you were going to say nothing.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's done that plenty Yeah.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Patriots prevail twenty eight nineteen Patriots.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: My favorite part of the friendisms when he when he
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: gives picks on games that there's some thought to like
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: that one, right, He's tortured for a minute and then
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: it's really go either way, and then Steve fans away
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: for a two score win.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, that's another great moment from Let's talk stats.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Bob's discount furniture as sofas that convert to sleepers when
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: you're feeling act mattresses that put you to sleep as
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: soon as you touch down, and thousands of highly rated
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: styles that keep the home team happy. Shop at Bob's,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: the official furniture store of the New England Patriots. That
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: was the tour de force right there.
- 1:14:13Speaker 8: Fred I was picturing like a book, like maybe you
- 1:14:15Speaker 8: could write a book on gambling, and it's like your
- 1:14:17Speaker 8: face with like you know, what do the sharps know?
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: And you know, like all his.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: Little in the book get the inside track. It's going
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: to take the Eagles both ways.
- 1:14:29Speaker 18: The cover of the book is like the art of
- 1:14:30Speaker 18: the deal.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, I can't.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: I can't gamble, But if I did.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Here's what I listen. I you know people are counting
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: on this. There's a kid. There's a guy that's going
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: to put a dollar on every one of Paul's over under.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: So that's pretty cool.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I would definitely caution against that. No, that's why
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: it's fun, right, But now I'm going to be thinking
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: about it. I know that's what that's a little little juice.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: You'll forget him like to the action is.
- 1:14:58Speaker 18: The livelihood of his family? It depends on you.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got like young twins or two of everything vipers.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: Yeah, twins.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: We had some winners people that won T shirts during
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: the show within a show trivia questions. The first one
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: was Tom Brady has thrown tds to ninety eight different receivers.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Name them.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: How many of those receivers called double digit touchdowns? Bucks
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: players included? And the answer is twenty players did wow?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: And the winner was Alex and Raleigh, North Carolina.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: He gets twenty exactly got it?
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: He got it? He Yeah, you got to use the
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: internet far not counting the Patriots. What team has Tom
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Brady played against the fewest times?
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Not counting the Patriots, what team is he played?
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: I know the answer at least amount of times.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: The Atlanta Falcons.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Well, you figure NFC one time it's the Cardinals twice
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: as my other.
- 1:15:59Speaker 8: Hurt eight and that was the year they played out there,
- 1:16:02Speaker 8: So I think he missed a couple, you know, missed
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: a couple of games.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: The winner there was Regis and Chattanooga. And finally, what
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: teams have Tom Brady never lost to? And what it
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: was his record against each team? There's three of them,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: three teams he's never lost to.
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: You had to give all three answers with both the.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: With the records correct, Atlanta one of them? No, No,
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Patriots obviously one.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: And oh right, I couldn't include Oh he lost? Did
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: he lose to Atlanta as a as a Buck? Probably?
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Maybe? Yeah, that makes sense Vikings six and oh and
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Bucks four and o. And the winner was Christian Almita.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: He didn't say where he's from. How's he gonna get
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: his T shirt?
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: Emailed him back to say give me your address.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Well, you know, this is why you give him a
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: hard time. You're striving for one hundred percent, but sometimes
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: it's really not in his control.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: It's hard.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: Yeah, he can't just send it off to parts unknown.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Actually type that because I was looking for that's poor
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: to me.
- 1:16:59Speaker 18: It's like when you send your home work in but
- 1:17:00Speaker 18: you don't put your name on it.
- 1:17:01Speaker 8: Oh, or when you accidentally grabbed the wrong FedEx slip
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: and send your dresses across the country and have no
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: idea where they're going.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: We had somebody in our office do that yesterday. She's
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: running around the office.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: It wasn't Thelma, Yeah, it was Louise.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: Louise did that.
- 1:17:16Speaker 8: Yeah, grab the wrong grab the wrong thing out of
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: the printer and just return. Had to return like a
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: two hundred dollars dress I think six stresses, six stresses
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: and sent them to some random place in California.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: That was so they're gone.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, now I feel bad.
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: Oh she's funny.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: She said they are high comedy, these two and the
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: other part of that comedy Thelma or Louise. You're Thelma,
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: she's Louise.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: You're gonna go off the cliff holding hands.
- 1:17:44Speaker 22: The best part is like she ordered all those dresses
- 1:17:47Speaker 22: before her event and like ended up having me bring
- 1:17:49Speaker 22: in dresses for her to try on and wear.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Anyways, she's an emerging new character on the show. I
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: think the Nico character.
- 1:17:55Speaker 18: Oh yeah, she is a character wrap on the show
- 1:17:59Speaker 18: within the show.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: First maybe, oh yeah, you should get her on there,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: but she said yesterday, She's.
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: Like, Okay, the dresses are in Nashua right now. But
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: I would have to go with Michael Rundy because he's
- 1:18:09Speaker 8: the one who like ordered the thing. So like I'm like,
- 1:18:11Speaker 8: you're gonna make Michael Rundy drive to nash you in
- 1:18:13Speaker 8: New Hampshire.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: The worst part is that Michael Rundy would drive to
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: nash in New Hampshire.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: He'd be like, okay, yeah, actually get twenty seven video
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: stead up?
- 1:18:23Speaker 18: But no problem, It's okay. I'll just be up till
- 1:18:27Speaker 18: one am. It's fine.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: That Midwest kid, you know.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: By the way, he's working on a hype video for
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: this game. He did a great job.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: He's good, he's good with the video.
- 1:18:36Speaker 18: He runs on Celsius.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: Yeah, what does that mean?
- 1:18:38Speaker 18: An energy drink?
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: Oh? The kids are the old, the olds again, right,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I prefer Fahrenheit.
- 1:18:45Speaker 25: But that one, that one went over my head too,
- 1:18:48Speaker 25: Celsius drink, Like now that you mentioned it, Yeah, but
- 1:18:52Speaker 25: when I thought it was a phrase whenst it's Andy's
- 1:18:56Speaker 25: C four.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Not anymore though?
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Those are?
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: You say he lost the sponsorship?
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:19:01Speaker 18: They all make me feel like I'm having heart palpitations.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, is supposed to be like God like good for you, right, I.
- 1:19:07Speaker 18: Don't know about good for you, but not as bad
- 1:19:10Speaker 18: as the others.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: It's not like a monster.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I could see any drinking four of those and being
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: that guy in the plane with the diary.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Oh, oh my god, I'm.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Gonna go.
- 1:19:21Speaker 18: Wh listeners, this is my best word.
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: Oh this is Nicoletto that you guys were talking crap
- 1:19:35Speaker 8: about me.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: I didn't even bring up the Canadians yet.
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: I had no We just we brought up you shipping
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: your dress, your dress.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: So you you picked up the wrong return slip and
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: sent six dresses to somewhere. You have no idea, what's
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: how is that going?
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: Tell me?
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Is there any way that you're going to figure this out?
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: So?
- 1:19:54Speaker 12: Yeah, so I picked up Also, can we talk about
- 1:19:56Speaker 12: how you thought that? I, like, you weren't I comprehending that,
- 1:20:00Speaker 12: Like the dress package.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I was confused.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: Yeah, the passage was gone.
- 1:20:04Speaker 12: Yeah, so you're like Nikola, just put on the new
- 1:20:06Speaker 12: slip and just nail it out. I'm like, the package
- 1:20:09Speaker 12: is gone, Fred like but yeah, so I have like
- 1:20:13Speaker 12: two hundred dollars worth of dresses like are gone in
- 1:20:16Speaker 12: like thin air right now because I put the wrong
- 1:20:19Speaker 12: package label on these dresses and it was a return
- 1:20:23Speaker 12: slip that another co worker, Michael, had used previously to
- 1:20:28Speaker 12: send something like weeks ago. So now it's being sent
- 1:20:32Speaker 12: to this place called the dark room.
- 1:20:35Speaker 18: It's like their camera there. It's like camera equipment stuff.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Some guy's girlfriend at the dark room just got six
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: new dresses, you know.
- 1:20:43Speaker 12: Yeah, so it's like all my dresses for my sister's
- 1:20:46Speaker 12: like wedding that I was returning.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: You know where it's going, so you can call yeah.
- 1:20:50Speaker 12: Yeah, So I contacted the guys through a DM through Instagram.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: What is just using the phone?
- 1:20:57Speaker 12: Well that's what I tried, but they didn't have a
- 1:20:59Speaker 12: phone number, so I had to direct message them. And
- 1:21:03Speaker 12: actually the way he's communicating through with me is like
- 1:21:06Speaker 12: voice memos, like on direct message.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: I don't know about this dark room place. I'm a
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: little that's a little sketchy.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Alone, must your dress in?
- 1:21:15Speaker 12: Yeah, so one hundred percent like my stupidity, Like it's
- 1:21:19Speaker 12: as the guys are saying, I did an oopsie doopsy
- 1:21:21Speaker 12: and yeah, so we.
- 1:21:24Speaker 17: Got a lot of splain can you explain the like
- 1:21:27Speaker 17: you're making Rundy drive where like, no.
- 1:21:29Speaker 12: I'm not making him drive anywhere. Like at first we
- 1:21:32Speaker 12: thought usps could, like we could intercept it at like
- 1:21:36Speaker 12: the Foxborough one, and they said they couldn't find it.
- 1:21:39Speaker 12: But even if they did, like Michael's names on the package,
- 1:21:42Speaker 12: so he would have to come and like pick it up.
- 1:21:46Speaker 12: So in general, though, it's good because it is getting
- 1:21:49Speaker 12: sent to the right state that it's supposed to be
- 1:21:51Speaker 12: returned to, but just not like the right place.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Okay, So it sounds like you're gonna get this figured out,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I hope.
- 1:21:56Speaker 12: So, but yeah, on my part, like I used her
- 1:22:00Speaker 12: reading things.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: So the other thing though, but also people need to
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: not leave things on printers. If you print something out,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: go get it in and a sorry, here's another office
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: pet peeve. You put in custom stationary and you and
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: you do what you have to do, and you leave
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the stationary there. So then the next person prints it
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: out on letterhead that they don't want. You need to,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: you know, printer etiquette is very important.
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: So it's Michael's fault.
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: Don't don't take advantage of Michael Rundy.
- 1:22:32Speaker 17: All right, he's the kindest person here, and he's all, yeah,
- 1:22:36Speaker 17: you're probably rooted.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: Is my fault.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Okay, So all right, thanks Nicolas, good to see you, news.
- 1:22:48Speaker 18: To experience it, all right?
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: All right, web radio at Patriot dot Com. A couple
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: more emails before we get into picks. Andy's in Cleveland.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: He says, ready to get some live football. Finally, thanks
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: for keeping us entertained. Can we make it a rule
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: that people on the show are either in or out
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: on Picks. Don't make our ball our boy Paul calculate
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: win percentages if they can't be here on Thursday. Is
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: it that hard to look at the schedule and email
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Paul your picks right now?
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: Okay, fans of the.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Show need to know who has the best feel for
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: the league.
- 1:23:25Speaker 17: Okay, I agree with that last line. But in people's defense,
- 1:23:29Speaker 17: we all have different jobs here and sometimes there's a
- 1:23:31Speaker 17: lot going on, and you know, Alex is at a
- 1:23:33Speaker 17: community event or we're going on the road somewhere, and
- 1:23:37Speaker 17: so get him.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: In on Tuesday. I agree. No, somehow, get your picks in.
- 1:23:43Speaker 18: I used to slack Paul before the pregame'd sit down.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: I'd be like, crap, my picks, Slack, I gotta click it,
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: because then it's then you have to write them all
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: up right around, like we're just doing it. It's done.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Like during the show, everyone that.
- 1:23:58Speaker 18: Betted the over on me being here, they're counting on me.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: So I think I was gonna win this year. I
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: got confidence dular picks.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Why don't you create like a spreadsheet? People, just.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: We could do that and doc Google doc.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: You could print it out for Paul and.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: So that was like, that was awesome. That was awesome
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: for Freddy. He didn't even bother looking in my direction.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: Why don't you just make a Google dog? No, no way,
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: but no, he's a spreadsheet guy in the speadsheet.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Well that's why I said, you have to make
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: sure we're using the right spread number, you know, right.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: That's the big thing. We'll go off of pulse numbers.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: So I will no longer win because I will no
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: longer be doing the book.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: You'll do the book.
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: No, I'm not.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: If it's.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: Now we're going to see. Now we're going to see
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: how good Paul really Grease in the bus direct Jack says,
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: I've been found.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Jack says Patriots shocked the world team's coming off a
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Super Bowl loss historically underperform Week one. Combine that with
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: new defensive and offensive coordinator is Bill Belichick. At home
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: with a summer to prepare, Tom Brady back in the building,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: Patriots shot the world and sneak out a last minute
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: win with a long field goal by Ryland Ps. Anyone's
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: saying they'd rather listen to commercials than the show within
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: the show, it's just another whiny Internet commenter. Wow, I
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: think we've got something that the tides starting to turn.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: Matt told you as the old people.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: Ye, I don't know, I'm right here, but it's uh,
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: it's been improving.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: It's been improving a couple of shows.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: People are starting to give things away.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: Yeah, you give what did today's guys get?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: Do they get?
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: T shirts? Except for the guy who didn't put his
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: email down? Has address physical.
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: Just to answer a question that I received, you can
- 1:25:44Speaker 6: win multiple times, keep answering, Okay, the T shirts too.
- 1:25:48Speaker 18: Shirts has the most T shirts at the end of
- 1:25:50Speaker 18: the season, saying.
- 1:25:51Speaker 6: If you've already won a I don't feel like you
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: can't answer again.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: I think we're gonna order new T shirts, right, isn't
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: he's gonna get new T shirts?
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: Maybe a crew nex, No, anybody.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: Monitoring your budget.
- 1:26:03Speaker 18: Maybe some gray like gray?
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: No, shut up? Barton Poland via Cordoba, Spain. A lot
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: of people go into Spain for vacation Spa.
- 1:26:18Speaker 17: So he's on vacation because he said he's from Poland,
- 1:26:20Speaker 17: but then via he's in Spain right now.
- 1:26:23Speaker 18: Okay, cool people in Europe travel a lot to other
- 1:26:27Speaker 18: places in Europe.
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: Yeah, you gotta push pin on that Spain.
- 1:26:30Speaker 24: Uh.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Here are my Homer predictions for the season. Patriots go
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: ten and seven, make the playoffs as a wild card
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: alongside the lack in Cleveland. Christian Gonzales wins Defensive Rookie
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: of the Year and Bill Belichick wins Coach of the Year.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Patriots lose in the playoffs to the Super Bowl winning Bengals,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: who will beat Dallas in the Super Bowl.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: So if that happens, the following do not make the playoffs.
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Two out of three of Buffalo, Jets, Miami, Baltimore, and
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: well that's probably about it. Cleveland, Cleveland. If Cleveland and
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: the Patriots or the wild card, then that means a
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: lot of good teams don't make the playoffs.
- 1:27:11Speaker 17: I'm not sure Deshaun Watson can still play like Deshaun Watson.
- 1:27:14Speaker 17: He's on my on my washed watch list.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: That's that's that's what brought that up? The other day.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: I finally mailed Jeff and Brooklyn says, I love how
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: Evan demurrors and says he doesn't like the attention from
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: the press conference, and then refuses to give the practice
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: report until he hears his intro. I like the point.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: I like my music.
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: It's not about that. I just liked the jingle. It's
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: got its place.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: In the It's like Greta Garbo, I'm ready for I wish.
- 1:27:41Speaker 18: You guys could have been in the press conference room.
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: I wish I wasn't the first question.
- 1:27:45Speaker 20: No.
- 1:27:46Speaker 17: And the funny thing was is that it like wasn't
- 1:27:48Speaker 17: even that scheme, Like it wasn't like I asked him
- 1:27:50Speaker 17: like something.
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: Seemed like he went he wanted to to give you
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: something like yeah, yeah, he was ready for you.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Everybody else was saying that that was like in
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: the Hole story, you know, he was prepared for that.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Yeah. The offensive court is.
- 1:28:03Speaker 18: It was like a little romance.
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:06Speaker 17: Veronica, our social media was texted me and she was like,
- 1:28:10Speaker 17: I'm gonna tell Jesse been flirting with Mac And I
- 1:28:12Speaker 17: was like, don't worry, she knows.
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: Yeah, oh okay, maybe I know what that is he
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: didn't listen to this last year.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: All right, Paul, it's that time.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: We don't have to read last years if.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: We don't want, Hi, well I do want. This is
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: gonna be the last time I ever win, and you
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: guys are taking the book away from me.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: So last year, Paul, for one, that not me playoffs
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: because I had a good playoffs run.
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: Now this is the regular season. Last year, Paul was
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: one seventy five ninety four and two. Mike was one
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: seventy three ninety six and two, so that's what's far behind.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: Fred was one sixty five on four and two. Evan
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: was one thirteen sixty one and one. Alex you were
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: eighty seven and forty nine. So the winning percentages had
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: Evan and I tied at six forty nine, Mike at
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: six forty two, Alex at six forty and Fred where
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: he normally finishes six thirteen. That's all I mean. All
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: above six hundred is actually pretty good.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: These are just winners straight up though, the just winterers.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: That's yeah. That's that with a spread where it gets
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: pretty good with you know, the men are separated from
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: the boys. Paul one fifty two, one fifteen and four.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: That's really good.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: That's the best I've ever done. Mike, Nope, sorry, Evan
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: eighty nine, eighty three and three. Then Mike won thirty
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: three one, thirty four and four, Alex sixty six sixty
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: eighty two, and Fred one nineteen one, forty eight and four.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Then I had a historically bad.
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: The winning percentages I was five sixty eight. You could
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: make some money.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: That's really good. At that's really levin.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: You also could make some money, although probably about break
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: even five seventeen the VIC. I'm also not allowed to
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: make money, correct, Mike four eight, Alex four ninety three,
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: and Fred four forty six. That was the regular season
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: totals from last year. But it's a new season, right.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: I'm no longer today and I'm no longer to be
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: gonna be able to cook the books. So who knows
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: what's gonna happen?
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: All right, So let's get into it. We gotta hurry tonight.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: On the NFL network?
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: Is it really?
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Is that the only place you can watch this game?
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: No, it's on NBC NBC. Isn't it an NBC game?
- 1:30:40Speaker 23: Oh?
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, they just they're.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Not doing that streaming crap on me? Are they No, No,
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: it's not prime like last year.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: Detroit visits Kansas City. I know a lot of sharps
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: are high pointing this game, but what's the.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Spread, Paul, Kansas City by four and a half?
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: Kansas City.
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: I'm using, by the way, just in full, just closure
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: up front DraftKings. Okay, draft Kings spreads.
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: That's the spread this year?
- 1:31:04Speaker 8: All right, all right, I'm gonna kick us off here,
- 1:31:06Speaker 8: twenty twenty three season. I know Travis Kelsey is questionable,
- 1:31:09Speaker 8: but I don't think it matters. I'm gonna take Kansas
- 1:31:11Speaker 8: City and I'm gonna lay the points. Patrick Mahomes is
- 1:31:14Speaker 8: a good player.
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: Kansas City and you're laying the points, Yes, sir.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: Chiefs Chiefs Its Chiefs Chiefs both ways.
- 1:31:22Speaker 17: I'm taking the Chiefs both ways as well. I think
- 1:31:24Speaker 17: the Lions are overrated.
- 1:31:27Speaker 18: Over even if the Chiefs.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Chiefs because of what Alex said,
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: they're the Chiefs. I do not think the Lions are overrated,
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: but I don't think they're ready for this spot.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: Week one, a lot of emotion, a lot of adrenaline,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: lot of kneecaps. Detroit comes out, defense plays well, they
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: cover they meaning they lose, but they don't lose by
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: four and a half.
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: You've got Kansas City to win in Detroit to cover.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: That's right, you got that, you got.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: This is why they want to take it away from me.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: I'm reading text and the the game.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: Okay, all right, write down the chief stands alone on
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: this one, all right, Sunday at one, Carolina at Atlanta,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: And obviously everybody's record is zero on zero, so I
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: don't need to say the record.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: Now, Atlanta by three and a half.
- 1:32:21Speaker 8: Man, I don't know much about this game. I'm gonna
- 1:32:24Speaker 8: be totally honest with you. I'm not even sure who's
- 1:32:26Speaker 8: starting a quarterback.
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: I guess Bryce Young is nice Young versus Desmond Rater. Matt,
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: you need to save that clip?
- 1:32:34Speaker 4: What did I say?
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: I don't know much about this game. I'm gonna that's it.
- 1:32:38Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Atlanta.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Atlanta, Atlanta Falcons, and I will
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: what was the points to place three and a half,
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: and I will lay those three and a half points.
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: Okay, I don't know why, but there it is.
- 1:32:48Speaker 18: I took the Falcons both ways as well.
- 1:32:51Speaker 17: Okay, I'm on the Falcons. This year, NFC South champion
- 1:32:56Speaker 17: Atlanta Falcons, Jon Robinson, London, Kyle Pitt's good offense. I'm
- 1:33:04Speaker 17: taking the Falcons. I'm taking them to cover. That's on purpose.
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: Ye yeah, I actually agree with Evan all around. I
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: think the Falcons are going to win the division. I
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: know the Saints are getting a lot of love in
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: that division, but I am going to open with the Falcons. However,
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the hook. I'll take Carolina with that
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: half point. Who's my field goal?
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: Smart in the division?
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: I like that Atlanta both ways. In this game. There
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you go Sunday at one, Houston at Baltimore.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: Baltimore by ten.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: That's a big Week one spread.
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: That's a big Week one spread.
- 1:33:46Speaker 8: But you know what, Lamar baby, I'm gonna take Baltimore
- 1:33:50Speaker 8: and I'm gonna lay all ten of those points.
- 1:33:52Speaker 17: Same I'm taking Baltimore, but ten is too big in
- 1:33:57Speaker 17: Week one. It's too much uncertainty. There new offensive coordinator
- 1:34:01Speaker 17: for the Ravens as well, So I'm taking Houston to
- 1:34:03Speaker 17: cover of Baltimore to win.
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: I was tempted to take the points as well, but
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: I won't. I'm gonna go with a Ravens victory on
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Week one both ways.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta go with the Ravens both ways in
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: this game. I just I just don't know anything about Houston.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: And there's gotta be a reason why the Sharps are
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: saying ten right.
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: Because all the money is coming in on Baltimore. Well, plus,
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: Houston is one of the three worst teams in football.
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: Yeah they are. I'm supposed to be. Who knows what's
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: gonna happen.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Number one pick Joe Burrow says he's ready to go
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: Sunday at Once Cincinnati at Cleveland.
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: Cincinnati by two and a half.
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: What Wow, that's a low that's a low number.
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: I'm gonna take her sleeping on Cleveland a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: it's a good roster.
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Cyincony though, and I'll lay the points.
- 1:34:59Speaker 18: Yeah, that's not a and up spread for I'm going
- 1:35:01Speaker 18: since he both ways.
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: Me as well, since he Cincy. What did you say
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: the spread was, Paul two and a half. I will
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: take Cincinnati both ways. But you know those those division
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: things that tend to happen. Cleveland owns Cincinnati.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: It worries me a little bit. I'll just say it's
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: a new year.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: This is your upset upset lead pipe lock of the week.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: The Browns both ways with the win at home.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: So we'll see if there is actually an upset lock
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: of the week in the few in the ensuing seventeen
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: weeks of the season. If fred ever picked Cincinnati, that
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: will be the true upset lock of the week.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: Because Paul knows my love of Cincinnati.
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: Fredda's the Bengals. I'm definitely worried about de Shaun Watson.
- 1:35:46Speaker 17: And when I say worried, I mean like like that
- 1:35:48Speaker 17: he's done. Couldn't happen to a better person.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, one o'clock the Jaguars, the Trevor
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: Lawrence led Jaguars are at the Anthony Rich It's in lead, Colts.
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: Jags by five, Jags by five.
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: Interesting division game. I'm tempted. I'm tempted to take those
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: points for Indy, but you know what, I'm not going
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: to do it. I'm gonna take Jacksonville. I'm going to
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: lay the points Jags both ways.
- 1:36:16Speaker 17: I'm taking the Jags both ways too. Colts are on
- 1:36:19Speaker 17: tank watch and I think they're going one in sixteen
- 1:36:23Speaker 17: this year just.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: To get Marvin Harrison.
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: I'm not convinced it's gonna be Marvin Harrison.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: It's not gonna be a quarterback.
- 1:36:30Speaker 17: I think it might be a quarterback. Really, if you
- 1:36:32Speaker 17: have the number one pick in this draft and you
- 1:36:33Speaker 17: don't take Caleb Williams, then you deserve to be fired.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Well wait a minute, you're saying they're gonna tank. Yes,
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: when you tank, you have somebody in minds. So they
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: don't like Anthony Richardson already.
- 1:36:44Speaker 17: I think that they're at least going. I think that
- 1:36:47Speaker 17: they will try to showcase Anthony Richardson and then trade
- 1:36:50Speaker 17: him for another first round pick or something good and
- 1:36:53Speaker 17: go with Caleble.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: That's the chess Chess got it.
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: I don't know now that would actually be chess if
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: if it worked out, sounds like it. I'm with Fred.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: I think Chris bald should be fired immediately if he
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: took a guy at four that he doesn't like so
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: they could go one in sixteen seventeen. I'm not saying
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: right before he fight unseen right, I'm tanking. I'm not
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: saying that.
- 1:37:19Speaker 17: I'm just saying that I think that that's how it
- 1:37:21Speaker 17: will end up shaking out, is that Anthony Richardson is
- 1:37:23Speaker 17: gonna have a rocky rookie year sense for them to
- 1:37:27Speaker 17: pass on killer.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: You're saying they're in tank mode. Now, yes, that's two
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: different things. You're saying Anthony Richardson is not going to
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: play well, and they're going to say we still need
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: a quarterback, and they're going to but they're tanking regardless.
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: So he doesn't necessarily need to be fired for that, Okay,
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: although I would fire him for that. I took Jacksonville
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: both ways.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: I'm tempted to take the points, but I'm not going
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: to do it. I'm gonna go Jaguars both ways. Sunday
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: at one, Buccaneers at the Vikings.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: Vikings by six.
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that sounds about right to me. Again, I
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: always struggle picking Kirk Cousins in this Vikings team.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: But it's a one o'clock game. He does well.
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take many and I'll lay the points.
- 1:38:12Speaker 18: Vikings by six.
- 1:38:14Speaker 17: I'm gonna take the Vikings both ways too, but I
- 1:38:16Speaker 17: don't like it on this Bucks team. I'm not sure
- 1:38:18Speaker 17: how to read them. I don't I don't really know
- 1:38:20Speaker 17: Baker Mayfield I think gonna be Yeah, it is Baker Mayfield.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: I hope he does well, I really do. I think
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: the leagues would be better with a Baker Mayfield playing well.
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: But why, he's a personality. He's exciting.
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: I think he's exciting. He's one of the least athletic
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: quarterbacks in the league.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Company's finny. They score a touchdown, he runs down the field,
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: Threat.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: I hope he does well and he makes good commercial.
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: Oh that that I would agree with? Commercial? Aggressive? Right,
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: I hope they were pretty funny. I will take Minnesota. Yeah,
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: it's all his talent. I will take the Bucks because
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: Minnesota doesn't tend to blow anybody out.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: Okay, they play a lot of I'm gonna go Vikings
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: both ways. Sunday at one, the Titans are at the Saints.
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: Saints by three.
- 1:39:11Speaker 8: He's by three, all right. I'm gonna take the upset
- 1:39:13Speaker 8: on this one. Then I'm gonna take Tennessee to win
- 1:39:16Speaker 8: with the points.
- 1:39:17Speaker 18: I also picked a Titans upset.
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: I like the Saints.
- 1:39:24Speaker 17: I don't know about either of these teams either. I
- 1:39:26Speaker 17: have no idea. They could be all over the map.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll take the Saints too, just because they're at home.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: I don't think either team is all that great.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Saints. Toss up one
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: o'clock the forty nine Ers visit Pittsburgh.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: This could be an interesting game. Niners by two on
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: the road. Oh, this is a good game, maybe one
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: that maybe we could watch like in the Sunday primetime.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: Perhaps we'll get to that later because you'll get one
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: of those games that you've never really seen before in
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: that window.
- 1:40:06Speaker 8: A lot of hype with Pittsburgh this preseason, you know,
- 1:40:08Speaker 8: like Kenny Pickett really played well, George Pickens was all
- 1:40:12Speaker 8: over the place at home. Everybody loves the forty nine
- 1:40:14Speaker 8: Ers though, But I'm gonna go Pittsburgh. I'm gonna go
- 1:40:18Speaker 8: Pittsburgh at home, and I'll take those points.
- 1:40:23Speaker 18: I picked the Steelers upset too. I don't know why.
- 1:40:25Speaker 22: I had filled out everything and then except for this game,
- 1:40:27Speaker 22: and I was just something was weird about it.
- 1:40:29Speaker 18: I got an intuition.
- 1:40:30Speaker 17: Okay, I'm taking the forty nine Ers both ways. I
- 1:40:34Speaker 17: think that the Pittsburgh hype is way out of control.
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: Okay, I do not think the Pittsburgh hype is out
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: of control. I however, do not think they play great
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: early in the season. So I will take San Francisco.
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: But I think the Steelers are pretty good, and I
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: think if they stay healthy, which they did not do
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: last year, they might not have that early season swoon
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: that they went through. Yeah, I forty nine Ers have
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Niners just better than Yeah.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: They have so much talent that back. So I think
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: out of the gate, like Paul said, they'll play well.
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: They'll play better than most teams out of the gate.
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: So I'll I'll take them to cover. Is that right?
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: Thanks for checking Sunday At one, the Cardinals are at
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: the Commanders. Here's one that'll get high ratings.
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: Washington by seven, Sorry, Washington, Washington.
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: By seven. I'll take Washington to win, but I'll take
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: the points for here.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: There's a team that should tank full Cardinals.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: That is the team that's tank taking. They got rid
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: of all their good players except for Buddha Baker.
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: And he wanted out, didn't he feel little bit?
- 1:41:43Speaker 18: I took the Commanders to win and cover.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: You took the points.
- 1:41:47Speaker 17: I'm with Alex on this. I think the Cardinals are
- 1:41:49Speaker 17: going to be awful.
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually think Washington is not terrible. And if
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: what we saw in like spurts in the summer is
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: any indication. Sam Howell looks like he has a like
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: a clue. So I'm going to take I almost said
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: the Redskins. Sorry, I'll take the commanders both ways.
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: I will as well, commanders both ways. All right, that
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: wraps up our one o'clock slate.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: So now we go to ka hurry only eighteen minutes.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: There's no four or five games. We go right to
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: four to twenty five. You like that? Now?
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: Is that every week or is that just this week?
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: The way it works, I think it might just be
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: this week, But I would love to outlaw the what
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: is your philosophic We have time to kill as I
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: just mentioned, what is your philosophical opposition to the four
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: or five kip?
- 1:42:35Speaker 17: For the most part, and now three and a half,
- 1:42:38Speaker 17: three hours and five minutes is not enough for the
- 1:42:40Speaker 17: one o'clock window to truly wrap up.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: That's the right answer.
- 1:42:43Speaker 17: So I would rather for twenty five because then you
- 1:42:46Speaker 17: get that local like games in overtime. Now a whole
- 1:42:49Speaker 17: country is watching this one game on CBS that's in
- 1:42:51Speaker 17: overtime before the four twenty five. It gives you that buffer.
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: I like that, and I think they feel the same way. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: they didn't do this a long time ago.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: They but they don't feel the same way because they
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: still have four or five games.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but they they're doing a lot more.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: It's all but it's all about double headers. There's very
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: few four or five.
- 1:43:10Speaker 17: Yes, so example next week Giants Cardinals, and but it's
- 1:43:13Speaker 17: not because of what he said.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: It used to be all four or five games.
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: No, they that they changed this a long time ago.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: A long time ago, years, but not a long time ago.
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: There are why do they have four Why do they
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: have four or five games? He won't, he won't. I
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: don't know. Actually, Okay, it's it's double header related in
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: the market. Yeah, that makes sense, so you have a
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: longer showing. So there's only like a couple of teams
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: that are affected by that. All right, it's network related.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: That's what it's always money, it's do it is. I agree.
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: The Packers are at the Bears.
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: Packers Bears four twenty five and the stunning upset. This
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: not the Sunday night game, uh, Chicago by one m.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: I'm no love for love.
- 1:43:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Green Bay.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: I'll take the point.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: I'm going with the pack Are you just not Oh no,
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: I've skipped over you.
- 1:44:07Speaker 22: Yeah, I was sorry. I was looking for the game
- 1:44:09Speaker 22: in my handwriting. I also took the Packers to upset.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: That was rude.
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: Uh Packers. Yeah, I'm gonna take the Packers too.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I hope Justin Fields does well, just like
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: I hope Baker Mayfield does well.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: Now that one I can see. You know, that's an
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: athlete that if he if he gets it and figures
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: out how to throw, that's an exciting player.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just good for the league. But I'm gonna
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: go with the Packers. Uh, that works to cover.
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: I like what we saw from the Packers in the
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: joint practices. I think yeah.
- 1:44:41Speaker 17: I mean, Jordan Love's gonna be looks like a beast.
- 1:44:44Speaker 17: He's gonna be very feast or famine. But I think
- 1:44:46Speaker 17: he's going to be able to make some plays.
- 1:44:50Speaker 18: To lose to the Packers even with Rogers gone. I
- 1:44:53Speaker 18: don't know. Just be funny to me, so I'm rooting
- 1:44:55Speaker 18: for it.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: Four twenty five, the Raiders are at the Broncos, who
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: are of course at home.
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: Broncos by three and a half.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: By three and a half.
- 1:45:06Speaker 8: Huh, this is another interesting game. I put like this
- 1:45:10Speaker 8: one in forty nine ers in Pittsburgh. Good, good matchups,
- 1:45:12Speaker 8: kind of evenly matched teams.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Josh. I'm gonna go with Josh
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: on this one. I'll take the points.
- 1:45:21Speaker 18: I took the Broncos to win. I gave the points
- 1:45:23Speaker 18: to the Raiders.
- 1:45:25Speaker 17: I'm gonna take the Broncos. I'm taking them both ways.
- 1:45:29Speaker 17: I'm worried about the Raiders. I don't that operation seems
- 1:45:32Speaker 17: like it's teetering Jones thing very.
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: Much, very much on brand for Josh McDaniels.
- 1:45:38Speaker 17: You too, Yeah, I mean, like, are we sure Jimmy
- 1:45:41Speaker 17: Garoppolo is the answer for them at quarterback?
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: Like there's a lot of who's the kid they drafted?
- 1:45:45Speaker 19: That?
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: That crazy? Well?
- 1:45:49Speaker 17: He was good at the Shrine Bowl, But I I
- 1:45:52Speaker 17: just have a lot of worries about that entire operation
- 1:45:54Speaker 17: in Vegas right now.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I am going to take Denver as well, but
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: I will take the hook again, take Vegas with the points.
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: What's the Jake Hayner situation? The wokie quarterback and suspended
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: for six games?
- 1:46:06Speaker 21: What was it for?
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: I didn't see.
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: I just saw he's an interesting player you see u,
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: Sean Payton said to Russell Wilson.
- 1:46:14Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's other man.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Do you have to kiss every baby? See?
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: And they also like stitty and not running for an office.
- 1:46:22Speaker 17: They've said some nice things about Jared Stidham.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: In Denver Week four.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: This is a tough one. This is a real tough one.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna go with the Raiders. I'm gonna go
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: with the Raiders in this game. Jimmy Garoppolo, Jimmy g you.
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Know, I'm gonna go with the random Fredism. I hope
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: you're right because it would be good for the league
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: for the Raiders to be you know, it was one
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: of those franchises. The league is better when the Raiders are.
- 1:46:45Speaker 17: I don't want to see Josh I hate to come
- 1:46:47Speaker 17: back with his tail talk between his legs. He got
- 1:46:49Speaker 17: fired again.
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: I don't want that either. So I do hope they're playing.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: Well for the Dolphins are at the Chadges the Black
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: by three.
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: Another good one. There's a few good matchups this weekend.
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: Yeah, another one that you might want to see like
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: in primetime. Yeah, yeah, just saying I don't know, man,
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: I I'm gonna go with Miami.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Miami.
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: Me.
- 1:47:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I just uh, I think two is good. I
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: just if he's healthy.
- 1:47:19Speaker 8: I think he's one of the best quarterback in the league.
- 1:47:20Speaker 8: I mean, I just he makes throws that make me
- 1:47:23Speaker 8: shake my head sometimes.
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: So I'm gonna go to I like Herbert.
- 1:47:26Speaker 18: Too, Charges both ways.
- 1:47:29Speaker 17: I said yesterday I think that I wasn't on the Chargers,
- 1:47:32Speaker 17: but I've been I've been talked into the Chargers just
- 1:47:34Speaker 17: a little bit, and I'm gonna take the Chargers me.
- 1:47:38Speaker 17: I think I think Justin Herbert, No, but.
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: It started with you. I think they're pretty good.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:43Speaker 17: I think Justin Herbert makes a statement in this game
- 1:47:46Speaker 17: against another young up and coming quarterback like Tua and says, no, no, no,
- 1:47:50Speaker 17: it's my time.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: Now, it's the number here, Paul. Three Chargers are favorite.
- 1:47:55Speaker 3: Yes, I'm gonna take the lack as well. I will say.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: The answer to the question is what you know high
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: powered offense slash quarterback has Bill had success with since Brady?
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: And it's Justin Herbert, And I think that sort of
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: clouds a lot of people around here about the Chargers
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: in general. If you asked one hundred random Patriots fans
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: how many games the Chargers won last year? None of
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: them would say ten. They would say nine. They squa
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: they squeaked, They squeaked into the playoffs at nine and eight.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: They were no good. They blew that big lead. But
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: they're better than people think. And it's because I think
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: Bill has made Herbert look so bad in the two
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: games that they played.
- 1:48:33Speaker 17: His Herbert's big time throws. I'll put him up up
- 1:48:37Speaker 17: against any other quarterback in the league in terms of
- 1:48:39Speaker 17: wow factor. That guy can throw the ball.
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: What do you got, Freddy?
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: I have the Chargers winning but not covering. Okay, it's
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: a close one. Wow, it's a close one.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Yeah it should be, although the Dolphins got killed there
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: last year.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Four twenty five, the Rams are at the Seahawks.
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: Uh, Seattle by five and a half over the Rams.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: Wow, really are are you surprised by that? Surprise?
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: The Rams are like thirtieth and like a lot of
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: power rankings.
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: No, they're doing testing here.
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna take Seattle and I will lay the point.
- 1:49:23Speaker 18: I took Seattle. I gave them the points. You know
- 1:49:26Speaker 18: was good to me last year when you know I
- 1:49:28Speaker 18: was doing my pick. So I'm gonna ride with them again.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: Is your quarterback back?
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: He is, but the rest of the team is gone. Okay,
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: like Gluem Cooper Cooper cup.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: That's right, he's out.
- 1:49:38Speaker 17: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Seahawks, and I am going
- 1:49:41Speaker 17: to take them to cover as well. Rams are another
- 1:49:44Speaker 17: team you're very worried about.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: Oh boy, Okay, they're doing testing here.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: So I am going to take Seattle to win the game,
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: certainly at home, but I will take the lar I'll
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: take five and a half. I'm with Fred. I think
- 1:49:58Speaker 3: there's still a little pedigree there. I definitely think they're
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: they reset the uh, the roster a little bit. They're
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: in rebuild mode. So I'll take the Rams to cover
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: this building.
- 1:50:10Speaker 18: If it's really nice that they waited for the radio stay.
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: There have to be a speaker in the studio.
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: Also, how many.
- 1:50:21Speaker 18: Fire and the radio show just didn't.
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: Know if this has been an actual emergency on Memorrel,
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: he would get me out and you have me on
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: like his shoulders and I don't have to worry about it.
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: Would all the captain always goes down with the show,
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: all right.
- 1:50:37Speaker 17: Marins, Like in Titanic where the captain the water is
- 1:50:40Speaker 17: like caving into.
- 1:50:42Speaker 4: Just I'm gonna go tell each other off. Okay, they
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: could turn that out though they Jesus.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Fire line just like.
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: This, when the spread is like this, the Sharps know something.
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: I'm going with the Sharps Seahawks cover. Okay, it works,
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: all right. Now we're gonna skip over the Patriots at
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: four to twenty five and we're gonna go to eight
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: twenty Sunday night. The Cowboys are at the at the
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Giants on NBC.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: They're not to be really fascinating because I don't know
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: if those two teams have ever played on Prime time before.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: But Dallas is favored by three and a half.
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Dallas and I'll lay the three and
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: a half. Hey, there we go, all right.
- 1:51:33Speaker 18: Wow, it's gone. Okay, yeah, Cowboys, Cowboys points.
- 1:51:39Speaker 17: I like Dallas both ways. I like Dallas in general.
- 1:51:42Speaker 17: I believe the Dallas hype. I think they're gonna be
- 1:51:45Speaker 17: in the NFC Championship Game this year.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: I will take Dallas to win. I was tempted to
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: take the Giants outright, but chickened out, and I will
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: take the points, take the I'm with.
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: Paul Bryan Dable gets it. The Giants and Cowboys. Giants
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: often pull off this win when the first meeting. So
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: I will go with the Giants to.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: Win, not.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: Cover. They're gonna cover.
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: Okay, that's what I wrote.
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: They're gonna lose, but within the margin there.
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's how it works.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: We're on TV. Everybody, everybody can see us, like with
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: the you know, turning the page over the Patriots, we're
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: gonna skip over everybody.
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: Well, we're not there yet.
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: We already did Monday Night.
- 1:52:33Speaker 17: Yeah, friends, one of the kids and doesn't have paper
- 1:52:36Speaker 17: like you know, we're all both on it.
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: You know, we don't have the Monday Night on ESPN
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: and ABC? Is it on ABC as well?
- 1:52:45Speaker 21: It is?
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: In fact?
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna watch this one. The Bills are at
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: the Jets.
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: Now, This one, even though it's a division game, is
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: worth prime time window. Even a lot of change to
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: this game. Buffalo a road favored by two and a half.
- 1:53:03Speaker 8: Ah man, I feel like this's a big decision right here.
- 1:53:06Speaker 8: How am I gonna kick it off? I'm gonna kick
- 1:53:08Speaker 8: it off with chaos though. I'm gonna go with the
- 1:53:09Speaker 8: Jets and I'm gonna take them to win plus two. Yeah,
- 1:53:14Speaker 8: plus two and a half.
- 1:53:16Speaker 18: I took the Bills.
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Anything more to add to that.
- 1:53:21Speaker 18: Ways, I think Jets got a lot going on with
- 1:53:24Speaker 18: the O line.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:53:25Speaker 22: The Jets are still the Jets at the end of
- 1:53:27Speaker 22: the day. I think if they're gonna be good, they
- 1:53:29Speaker 22: gotta they gotta break themselves in.
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: Yep, I'm with Alex on this one.
- 1:53:33Speaker 17: I agree wholeheartedly. I take the Bills. Better quarterback in
- 1:53:37Speaker 17: the game, more experienced team together.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: Buffalo.
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I am really interested in watching this one. Hopefully
- 1:53:44Speaker 3: I'll be able to stay up past my bedtime. But
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: I am going to take Buffalo and assume that they're
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: still the best in the division until I see otherwise.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: Wow, So I'm the only person taking the Jets. You
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: took the Jets. Okay, Yeah, so me and Mike taking
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: the Jets.
- 1:54:00Speaker 17: I can't take the Jets. Why not because you're a company?
- 1:54:02Speaker 17: Mann hated the Jets.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: I do hate the Jets, but I hate the Bills.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: And you know, I like seeing ra A. McDermott, you know, uh,
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: you know, get his residents.
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: I assume I should know that as you know what
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: it is.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: He's no.
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: No, I absolutely know what you're talking about now, So
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: I get it.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: I I'm for the Jets. I'm gonna I think they're
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: gonna win this game, hoping they implode the rest of
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: the way, but also hoping that the demise of the
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: Bills that everyone's predicting is true.
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: Playing the long game. Yeah, he wants the Jets not
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: just to fail with Rogers. He wants the carrot to
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: be there, like he wants like the seven and two
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: Jets to then fall, right.
- 1:54:49Speaker 18: I do respect that. Yeah, then they started off great too,
- 1:54:53Speaker 18: and everyone's like, the Jets are.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: Good, right?
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: Were the Jets over here?
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: Huh?
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: They're not backt No, they're never here for Jets fans.
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Nineteen sixty Jets fins, they grab onto my friend. You
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: win two games, you know she's no fireman DS back
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: out of retirement.
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: They're dedicated fraud.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: All right, Now we go back, that's more like it
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: to four to twenty five, and the Eagles, of course
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: are here against the Patriots. You're gonna have to play
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: the Patriots with Tom Brady in the house, in the
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: house with not the hind Center. Do you know something, surprise, Paul,
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: what's this number?
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: Eagles by four?
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Eagles by four. Disrespect, such disrespect.
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take the Eagles.
- 1:55:38Speaker 8: I just I think it's a tough first matchup for
- 1:55:39Speaker 8: the Patriots, and you know, for all the reasons that
- 1:55:41Speaker 8: everyone's been going about the Eagles, I think that they'll
- 1:55:43Speaker 8: they'll take this one.
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: Yeah, Eagles twenty eight thirteen.
- 1:55:49Speaker 18: Wow, we predicted the same score. First one of the season, Philly, Philly.
- 1:55:55Speaker 17: I'm going to take Philly and Philly, but I have
- 1:55:57Speaker 17: much closer game. I think Philly isn't ready to play
- 1:56:01Speaker 17: in the first half. They haven't played any preseason spend
- 1:56:04Speaker 17: a little minute since they've been out there. I like
- 1:56:06Speaker 17: the Patriots to keep it close at halftime and maybe
- 1:56:08Speaker 17: linger in the game a little bit, but ultimately too
- 1:56:11Speaker 17: much offense for the Eagles twenty seven to twenty one.
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: Okay, I am more along the lines of Alex and Mike.
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: I think the Eagles just both sides of the ball,
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: especially up front, are just better, and I think that's
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: hard to overcome, even though I really have a lot
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: of faith that Bill will have something in mind to
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: slow things down a little bit and not get rolled.
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: But I just don't know if they have enough trying
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: to avoid getting blown out to actually be competitive in
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: the game. Twenty seven to ten.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: Yeah, Philly, I'm looking ahead to the Miami game. Wow.
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: More, I was not expecting to hear that.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: I just don't think the Patriots have enough in Week one.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: Really worried about this offensive line. They just haven't played
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: together all at all this summer, you know, so for
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: a lot of reasons. I just think I agree they'll
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: keep it close in the first half the Patriots, but
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: I think Philly pulls away in the second half and
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: they win twenty seven to fourteen seven.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: I'm the only one that picked a one score game.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: Huh Yeah, Now who scores last in your game? That's
- 1:57:18Speaker 3: a good question. I hadn't thought about that. To me,
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: that makes all the difference. Yeah, I take a to
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: score a game and make it a one score game
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: and they oh, by the way, touchdown. I just think
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: Philly score, Philly score late.
- 1:57:31Speaker 17: I just think this game means more to the Patriots.
- 1:57:34Speaker 17: I think the Eagles know that they have bigger fish
- 1:57:36Speaker 17: to fry.
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: I don't think there's any question about that.
- 1:57:38Speaker 17: And I think that the Patriots will come out and
- 1:57:40Speaker 17: play hard. It's just they don't have the talent to
- 1:57:43Speaker 17: beat the Eagles, so it eventually go Philly's way. But
- 1:57:45Speaker 17: that's why I have it being close.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: Yeah, of course I'm hoping I'm wrong.
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: No, we're all hoping we're right.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: Well, and Andy's not here. Andy's the only one who
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: actually said on this show, I'm just rooting for my pick.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: I mean, but Paul is everything but paid your dot com.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: You know, so everything but money and my patio.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: Uh No, I I just it's it's just too early.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: But I think, as opposed to last year in the
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: year before, I think the Patriots are going to get
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: better as the season goes. That's that's going to be
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: our saving grace this year, is that we're going to
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: have We're going to see the light at the end
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: of the time.
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: I'm not going to be surprised if I get a
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: lot of mentions on Twitter saying, what's what's the matter
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: with boss Man? Like this is not the rally, That's
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: not the rally cry that I was looking for. That's
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: the boss Man. Well, our saving grace this year is
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: going to be we could to get.
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: What is that?
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: No, it's not, it's not.
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: I've told everyone that I go into this season with
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: no expectation, but I have hope.
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: But that didn't sound very hopeful, But yeah, like.
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: The hope for the future.
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it'll get better.
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: So you think by the holding for just getting we're
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: building towards.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: We're gonna have some really really good wins at the
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: end of the year against some quality teams, and we're
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: gonna be like, Okay, we see where this thing's going.
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: It's going in the right direction.
- 1:59:12Speaker 3: That's a little better. Yeah, that's a little better.
- 1:59:14Speaker 17: That's definitely better than the crash landing we've seen the
- 1:59:16Speaker 17: last two years.
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: I mean, that's a little better than his initial like
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: synopsis of the season. I think that was more encouraging.
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: You're gonna beat some good teams, but we might not
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: be ready to do that right away, but we will be.
- 1:59:27Speaker 4: Yeah before you can run.
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that.
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: All right. That's going to be it for this edition
