- 0:58to live a more positive play three n sixty five days a year. We
- 1:02hope you enjoyed this message. A horse walks into a bar. The bartender
- 1:12ass hello, do you want a beer? The horse responds, I think
- 1:19not and promptly disappears. Now, admittedly, this joke only makes sense if
- 1:27you are familiar with the French Enlightenment philosopher Renee Descartes, who famously said I
- 1:36think, therefore I am. The horse thought not and therefore wasn't. But
- 1:45if I had explained that first, I would have been putting descartes before the
- 1:49horse. Just what does it mean to be real? In our world today
- 2:07we confuse the real with the superficial or with the virtual. However, it
- 2:14is always useful to remember the difference between what is real and what is not.
- 2:21We will talk about this in this week's episode of Positively three sixty five.
- 2:25But first we have our trivia question of the day. Are you ready
- 2:30for it? Here it is which mountain range is the longest in the world.

- 3:38thank you for your support, financially and otherwise. Do you know the answer
- 3:52to this week's trivia question? The question was which mountain range is the longest
- 4:00in the world. The answer the Andes. The Andes Mountain Range is five
- 4:09thousand, five hundred thirty miles long, one hundred twenty four to four hundred
- 4:15and thirty five miles wide, and has an average height of about thirteen thousand,
- 4:21one hundred twenty three feet. The Andes Mountain Range extends from north to
- 4:28south through seven South American countries Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia,
- 4:36Chile, and Argentina. Now you know, in a world where looks
- 4:46often grab attention, picking what's real over what's just on the surface is like
- 4:51choosing honesty over pretending. It means going beyond what themes seem like and finding
- 5:00what's true and meaningful. Real connections and honest feelings are way more important than
- 5:08just looking good. When we choose what's real, we go for the stuff
- 5:13that lasts and matters. It's like saying no to fakeness and yes to what
- 5:17really counts like true feelings and honest relationships. It's a good choice because it's
- 5:26about what's true and genuine, not just what looks good. Marjorie Williams Bianco
- 5:39in The Velveteen Rabbit gives us a beautiful description of what's real. Real isn't
- 5:48how you are made, said the skin horse. It's a thing that happens
- 5:53to you when a child loves you for a long long time, not just
- 5:59to play with, but really loves you. Then you become real. Does
- 6:04it hurt, asked the rabbit, sometimes, said the skin horse, for
- 6:12he was always truthful. When you are real, you don't mind being hurt.
- 6:17It doesn't happen all at once, like being wound up, he says
- 6:21asked, Or is it a little bit by bit? It doesn't happen all
- 6:28at once, said the skin horse. You become it takes a long time.
- 6:33That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have
- 6:39sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the
- 6:45time you are real, most of your hair has been loved off, and
- 6:49your eyes drop out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.
- 6:56But these things don't matter at all, because once you are real,
- 7:00you can't be ugly accept to people who don't understand. Thank you for joining
