- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:18royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Do you? Ever find yourself getting
- 0:42almost lured into drama and other people's conflicts and
- 0:48situations and arguments? Somehow you get involved in that
- 0:52quite often. That can happen to people
- 0:54because people want other people to back their perspective or
- 0:59take their side. And I was working with a client
- 1:02that would often find themselves being encouraged into particular
- 1:08dramas, particular with family members.
- 1:11And they found that quite a difficult thing to do because
- 1:14they knew all of the different people involved, but they felt
- 1:18like there was pressure or expectation for them to get
- 1:21involved. But also they.
- 1:23Found that their. Coping strategy was almost to
- 1:26become too detached to be there but not actually kind of listen
- 1:31to what's happening in those situations.
- 1:33And that made it difficult for them to connect one-on-one
- 1:36emotionally. So I would say there are two key
- 1:39benefits of this hypnosis session.
- 1:41If you find yourself being lured into, let's say, drama and
- 1:46arguments and conflicts, and you find yourself emotionally
- 1:50invested in those and you don't want to be, this could be a
- 1:53useful session. But equally, if you find it
- 1:54difficult to open up, be vulnerable or connect with
- 1:58someone one-on-one, then this also might be useful.
- 2:03And by the way, the client that I was working with, their reason
- 2:06for almost putting a bit of a shell around them when they were
- 2:10having a one to one conversation, if someone was
- 2:12opening up to them, is that in their childhood it was looked
- 2:16down upon to really show your emotions.
- 2:19And here in England, where I live, there is this kind of
- 2:23culture of the stiff upper lip and you know, you mask your
- 2:27emotions, you don't give too much away.
- 2:29So if you can relate to those kind of things, then I think you
- 2:32might get some benefit from this session.
- 2:35Some of the suggestions are entirely related to the person
- 2:38and their particular dynamics. But if you just take the
- 2:41essence, which is to feel that you can kind of observe, be
- 2:45present but not emotionally involved in other people's
- 2:49drama, or to really open up and connect with other people, then
- 2:52I think you'll get some real value from this hypnosis
- 2:54session. And if you do want something
- 2:56more bespoke and relevant to you, have a look in the
- 3:00description and that way you'll be able to schedule a free
- 3:02consultation call and we can have a chat.
- 3:04For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you're
- 3:07not going to be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 3:29Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 3:37slow, long, relaxing breath and as you exhale, just allow your
- 3:44eyelids to fully close, allowing them to feel relaxed and heavy.
- 3:53With your eyes. Closed, you're able to become
- 3:58more aware of my voice, of your breathing, and of your sense of
- 4:08comfort. So as you breathe in and breathe
- 4:14out, allow yourself to position your body in a way where you can
- 4:23feel even more relaxed. And when you breathe in, aim to
- 4:36breathe in 1% deeper than the previous breath.
- 4:44And as you exhale, allow your outward breath to carry on for
- 4:52longer, enabling you to go beyond breathing just from the
- 5:00chest to create that vacuum that encourages your diaphragm to
- 5:06awaken. And perhaps you notice that when
- 5:12you deep breathe deeper, you can feel more relaxed and
- 5:17resourceful. And when you exhale for longer,
- 5:23you can release any feelings of tension, stress, or worry.
- 5:30And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 5:35And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 5:41So much so that each breath takes you deeper and deeper than
- 5:48the last. And as your body relaxes, your
- 5:54imagination awakens. And I want you to think of a
- 6:00place. A place where you were able to
- 6:06deeply relax. Maybe it was a place where you
- 6:14had nothing to do or nowhere to be.
- 6:19But just imagine being in that place.
- 6:26Feel the slow down rhythm of your breath, and with every
- 6:35breath you can allow your body to relax even more and your mind
- 6:41to awaken and your awareness to drift inwards.
- 6:50Then I want you to imagine stepping into a safe inner
- 6:54space, a place where it's safe for you to explore the depths of
- 7:02who you truly are. And as you imagine being in that
- 7:11relaxing place, I'd like you to imagine a stream.
- 7:19That stream, I want you to imagine stepping stones that
- 7:25takes you to the other side. And as I count down from 5 to 1,
- 7:31I want you to imagine crossing this stream of consciousness.
- 7:37And as you get to the other side, allow this to represent
- 7:43your subconscious. That part that is suggestible to
- 7:50useful suggestions. So standing at the Bank of that
- 7:56stream, 5 taking the first step as you feel a wave of
- 8:01relaxation. 4 another step across, feeling even deeper
- 8:08relaxed. Three halfway across the stream,
- 8:18even deeper relax now two nearly on the other side as you feel
- 8:28your arms and legs get limp, loose and heavy, and your
- 8:32breathing slow down even more. And then one, the final step,
- 8:38nearly to the other side, the side that represents your
- 8:43subconscious. And perhaps you can notice the
- 8:47lightness in your arms and legs, a tingling sensation in your
- 8:52toes, going up to your top of your head and down to your
- 8:55fingertips. A0 You now cross to the other
- 8:59side. You've crossed this stream of
- 9:05consciousness and in this calm, resourceful state you can begin
- 9:13to sense the richness of your own emotions.
- 9:19Like colours of a rainbow or the colours available to an artist.
- 9:28Each one valid, each one meaningful.
- 9:32Allowing yourself to feel without fear.
- 9:38Would you really want a world in which red or green didn't exist?
- 9:42I want you to get a feeling then.
- 9:47Emotions are like colours, not always suitable, but you would
- 9:53rather have access to them. Because emotions are not
- 9:59something to avoid. They are signals, guides, a
- 10:06richness of experience, a part of being fully alive.
- 10:14And you may notice that as you connect with your emotions, you
- 10:21also connect more deeply with yourself.
- 10:28Like to feel that, That sense of authenticity, a sense of
- 10:33presence, even the courage to be real, feels much more desirable
- 10:42than the office. The opposite would be to be
- 10:48scared to reveal your emotions, to be fake and how you deal with
- 10:55certain situations. So as you deeply connect with
- 11:00yourself, feel that authenticity.
- 11:04Feel that it is safe to be real, to allow feelings to rise and
- 11:10flow without resistance, without judgement.
- 11:19And every now and then the storm will come, an emotional drama,
- 11:27perhaps with people you know, but maybe with people you don't.
- 11:34And you could imagine yourself as a calm observer, like
- 11:41standing on the shore watching waves rise and fall, or see the
- 11:48waves pounding on the shore and feeling immovable, knowing the
- 11:56ocean is vast and you remain steady, grounded and safe on the
- 12:04land. And every now and then one of
- 12:10these waves will already on you and you can get wet without
- 12:20needing to dive into the ocean. So you can listen and you can
- 12:30understand and you can sympathize, and still you remain
- 12:37empowered. Clear that another person's
- 12:42problems belong to them, and while you can help if asked, and
- 12:50you can connect when needed, I want you to feel deep inside
- 12:57that the resolution is always their responsibility.
- 13:04And that gives you permission not to carry the weight of the
- 13:10problem, not to become emotionally invested as these
- 13:16problems are not yours to fix. But feel that you don't need to
- 13:25protect yourself through that intellectualization.
- 13:34You can listen without needing to keep your distance.
- 13:43You can share your thoughts without taking sides.
- 13:49And I want you to feel that you're not there to judge who is
- 13:55right and who is wrong. But you can listen and connect
- 14:03and offer your time, energy, attention and presence and
- 14:10that's enough. But every now and then there
- 14:18won't be a drama with multiple people.
- 14:22There will be a one to one exchange.
- 14:27And sometimes that will be a conversation and sometimes that
- 14:33will be you as a person to vent to, as a cathartic release of
- 14:41energetic emotion. And I want you to feel in those
- 14:48one to one emotional exchanges that you have full permission to
- 14:55be authentic, to be comfortable in vulnerability because that
- 15:04vulnerability shows strength, confidence and experience.
- 15:13And that strength is connection. So you can listen deeply, having
- 15:24that intention to connect or hold space to understand, not to
- 15:33judge and not to fix, just to be present.
- 15:41Not partially present and not thinking of who's right or who's
- 15:47wrong, but fully present to be there.
- 15:55And as you do, you may notice that connection flows more
- 15:59easily, like two rivers joining, each still retaining its own
- 16:07identity, yet flowing together for a time synergistically
- 16:16before the rivers diverge and go in their own directions.
- 16:29And I want you to imagine, imagine seeing yourself as that
- 16:39impartial observer in that group dynamic and see yourself there,
- 16:52present, but not becoming a pawn, not needing to take sides.
- 17:02And then imagine seeing yourself in your future, deeply
- 17:07connecting with one person that may just need you to listen.
- 17:17But then I want you to imagine perhaps a few weeks from now
- 17:22seeing yourself dealing with someone emotionally charged and
- 17:29clearly having an agenda. See them almost tribal in the
- 17:38position they take, perhaps with the attitude that if you're not
- 17:44with me, you're against me. And I want you to see that
- 17:48version of you. Delicately, diplomatically
- 17:56avoiding the need to either agree or disagree and see that
- 18:03version of you expressing empathy, acceptance for their
- 18:10viewpoint, whether you agree with it or not.
- 18:13Or perhaps curiosity. I don't want you to see that
- 18:18individual baiting you to take a position that they can attack.
- 18:27But see, that version of you knows the game like a mouse
- 18:34seeing a piece of cheese in a trap.
- 18:38Even if you feel tempted, it doesn't make sense for you to
- 18:44take that bait. And I want you to imagine that
- 18:50any interaction of this nature, you're getting more and more
- 19:01adept, discerning and capable of dancing around those laser
- 19:11beams, and you can feel authentic and real and avoiding
- 19:20that win, lose 0 sum game. So as you breathe in and breathe
- 19:30out, feel like you're integrating all of these new
- 19:34ways of enriching your emotions and playing the right role for
- 19:41the right situation, knowing that you don't have to get it
- 19:46right. If things go the way you want
- 19:50them to, consider that a feedback loop.
- 19:55And if they don't, consider that a feedback loop too.
- 20:02So you are better capable of surfing the waves of your own
- 20:08emotions, but also those of other people.
- 20:17It's time to leave this place, to imagine stepping back over
- 20:23those stepping stones, back from the subconscious to the
- 20:26conscious, and then floating all the way back to your present as
- 20:33you take a deep breath in through your nose and out
- 20:37through your nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 20:41wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 20:43here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 20:50you. You will feel energized.
- 20:54You will feel it's safe to experience emotions, to open up
- 20:59and share real feelings, and to release the need to judge, to
- 21:05fix or interfere. Starting to count. 123 Waking up
- 21:14456 More alert 7-8 Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide
