- 0:02Speaker 1: Back to the Craig Wait Show.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Connect with Craig through the text line by texting Texas
- 0:07Speaker 2: to eight one five three zero followed by your message.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Standard message and data rates may apply here on this
- 0:22Speaker 1: Monday afternoon.
- 0:24Speaker 3: On Sports Radio AM thirteen hundred Zone Long WRNE Monday.
- 0:27Speaker 3: But also we talk NFL. Yes, that includes the Cowboys
- 0:31Speaker 3: who got up, got down, had a chance, and went
- 0:36Speaker 3: all of a sudden done. They're three and four. Mike
- 0:38Speaker 3: McCarthy said, we can learn from this. Really, he said, Okay,
- 0:42Speaker 3: that's what he said. Do they not learn from the
- 0:44Speaker 3: forty seven to nine loss to Detroit or the twenty
- 0:46Speaker 3: eight twenty five loss to Baltimore, of the forty four
- 0:48Speaker 3: to nineteen loss of the Saints.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I guess not.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Well, I learned enough to get within six points actually
- 0:54Speaker 3: ly ten Francisco in the game.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I guess they did lead in this game because usually
- 0:59Speaker 2: they are by twenty when the game starts.
- 1:01Speaker 3: They had a chance to go at fourteen to three,
- 1:03Speaker 3: and they couldn't catch it, and they ended up settling
- 1:05Speaker 3: for the field goal to make a ten to three.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And then after that then yeah, then it was then
- 1:12Speaker 2: it was difficult and they got down. They were down
- 1:14Speaker 2: twenty seven to ten, and then you know, rallied back
- 1:18Speaker 2: after that.
- 1:18Speaker 1: How about the Texans and the Colts where.
- 1:24Speaker 3: The uh looked like the Texans had things in hand,
- 1:28Speaker 3: and then the Colts came back and they just kept
- 1:30Speaker 3: fighting back and then pulled them with in three at
- 1:33Speaker 3: the end, Texans were able to hold on and get
- 1:35Speaker 3: the win and that one and they're sitting on top
- 1:37Speaker 3: of the AFC South.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That was a weird game too. Talk about Texas Vanderbilt
- 1:41Speaker 2: being weird, I mean you have too just really like
- 1:44Speaker 2: dumb turnovers. First, you had Anthony Richardson, who we'll get
- 1:47Speaker 2: to it a second, had an interception inside his own
- 1:52Speaker 2: twenty yard line with thirty seconds to go in the
- 1:54Speaker 2: first half, leads to a Texans touchdown. And then you
- 1:57Speaker 2: have a toss play where the pitch from Stroud the
- 2:01Speaker 2: mixing goes behind him for a moment looked like it
- 2:06Speaker 2: was a fumble six. Good thing it wasn't for Texans
- 2:09Speaker 2: fans is they were able to stop Indianapolis not once
- 2:13Speaker 2: but twice. But Anthony Richardson two of fifteen in the
- 2:17Speaker 2: first half, just an absolutely horrid start. Did have that
- 2:21Speaker 2: one big passing touchdown, had a second one that was dropped,
- 2:25Speaker 2: but two of fifteen in the first half. He has
- 2:29Speaker 2: the run in the fourth quarter when the Colts have
- 2:33Speaker 2: no timeouts left under a minute. Instead of running out
- 2:35Speaker 2: of bounds, he stays in bounds. That drains off a
- 2:38Speaker 2: lot of clock. And then he also checked himself out
- 2:41Speaker 2: of a play because he was too tired. Craig, this
- 2:46Speaker 2: is your starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. I now,
- 2:51Speaker 2: I get he played what he started eight games as
- 2:53Speaker 2: a quarterback before being drafted right right at eight games,
- 2:57Speaker 2: So it's gonna be a big learning curve. He's going
- 3:00Speaker 2: to be raw a long ways to go. I mean,
- 3:02Speaker 2: because he missed last year. You got to give him
- 3:04Speaker 2: this season and then probably next season before you make
- 3:07Speaker 2: a decision. But I mean, what a ride it's been
- 3:10Speaker 2: for the Colts and Anthony Richardson. I have a Colts
- 3:13Speaker 2: fan in my life, and he's just like, yeh, don't
- 3:15Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think can depend him anymore.
- 3:17Speaker 2: After the want Sam Ellener to play, I don't know.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I mean, who's there. I know Sam's the third string.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Who's the second Well it's Flaco, Flaco, that's right, Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 2: that's right. So yeah, you want forty five year old
- 3:27Speaker 2: Joe flacka. But for the Texans, hey keep on winning.
- 3:31Speaker 2: You know, Texans, Texas fans, Texas fans, you know, complain
- 3:34Speaker 2: about beating Vanderbilt by only by three, but hey, it's
- 3:38Speaker 2: another win in the wind. Call him and the same
- 3:40Speaker 2: thing for the Texans. You're six and two, you are
- 3:43Speaker 2: leading the AFC South at the moment. You keep stacking
- 3:46Speaker 2: those wins up, and you know, you just get better,
- 3:49Speaker 2: You learn from it and just try and get better
- 3:50Speaker 2: each week. So, uh, frustrating, you know, probably was a
- 3:54Speaker 2: little bit too close for comfort there at the end.
- 3:56Speaker 2: But the sad thing is, what's gonna happen with this
- 3:59Speaker 2: Van Dick? So you're already down Ico Collins, what's the
- 4:01Speaker 2: latest injury update on Stefan Dicks, who looked like took
- 4:04Speaker 2: a non contact knee injury.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Colts coach Shane steike In today said he is evaluating
- 4:11Speaker 3: the quarterback situation, but he indicated that Richardson's decision to
- 4:16Speaker 3: ask out of the game for that play in the
- 4:18Speaker 3: third quarter will not be a factor in his decision making.
- 4:22Speaker 3: He was ten of thirty two four hundred and seventy
- 4:24Speaker 3: five yards. He said, we're evaluating everything. And then he said,
- 4:29Speaker 3: is he's still the starter? He said right now today,
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah he is. Yes, that's where that's where it is.
- 4:35Speaker 3: And Flacco's only thirty nine, he's not forty five. He's
- 4:38Speaker 3: thirty nine years old. Hey, he might be batter than
- 4:40Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers. I'll just say that right now. Yeah, well
- 4:44Speaker 3: he did not look good. Jets did not look good
- 4:46Speaker 3: against the Patriots yesterday. I guess everybody thought that that one.
- 4:50Speaker 3: And and you know, of course, you know the Giants,
- 4:55Speaker 3: they have Daniel Jones and the issues in they play
- 4:57Speaker 3: the Steelers tonight. But Dave Brian da Ball, the coaches,
- 5:02Speaker 3: he's not gonna have a quick cook with him, said
- 5:05Speaker 3: the reason why he had Drew Lockman, and he said
- 5:10Speaker 3: it was just looking for a spark, which didn't happen.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So that's where it is.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Is.
- 5:17Speaker 3: The Giants will play the Steelers tonight, Monday night football game.
- 5:21Speaker 1: No man cast, so it'll be Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Which the man thing is probably want to watch the
- 5:26Speaker 1: World Series. Yeah they don't. They want to. They want
- 5:29Speaker 1: to watch Steelers Giants.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So and then, uh, this interesting thing of the.
- 5:40Speaker 1: The Broncos beat the Panthers twenty eight to fourteen. Now
- 5:47Speaker 1: does that sound like somebody's trying to run up to
- 5:48Speaker 1: score on somebody? No? Uh.
- 5:51Speaker 3: The Broncos were at twenty eight seven in the fourth
- 5:53Speaker 3: quarter and he attempted a fake field goal on what
- 5:57Speaker 3: would have been a sixty yard field goal by will
- 6:00Speaker 3: Watch who does have the like for that, by the way,
- 6:03Speaker 3: And later in the quarter Courtland Sutton, the wide receiver,
- 6:07Speaker 3: completed a fourth down pass to Michael Burton to keep
- 6:10Speaker 3: a drive going.
- 6:12Speaker 2: J C.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Horn approach Porton on Peyton on the field at the
- 6:16Speaker 3: game a brief, heated exchange and could be seen on
- 6:19Speaker 3: video telling Peyton to the Broncos were trying to run
- 6:22Speaker 3: up the score, saying the fourth quarter plays were disrespectful.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Horn later said it wasn't necessarily directed at him, He
- 6:30Speaker 3: just tended to be standing near Peyton. I just felt like, personally,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I ain't going to speak for everybody else. They had
- 6:34Speaker 3: a fake field goal and the double screen pass the
- 6:36Speaker 3: fourth quarter on fourth down, and they had every right
- 6:38Speaker 3: to do that, but I'm allowed to have.
- 6:39Speaker 1: My opinion on that too. I felt it was disrespectful.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So after the game was going back and forward with
- 6:43Speaker 2: the players and coach Payton just kind of got in
- 6:44Speaker 2: the middle of it.
- 6:45Speaker 1: There's no banner back and forth between us.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Dave Canalis, the Panthers coach, said the fake field will
- 6:50Speaker 3: tell us their decision to make as the Broncos were
- 6:53Speaker 3: trying to clock out the game.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Peyton today said this was the actual quote. I know,
- 6:58Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know, I know, I know six.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I knows six, I knows.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Does he know? Listen, I said it last night. We're
- 7:06Speaker 1: trying to finish the game the right way. We're not
- 7:07Speaker 1: trying to run up to score on anyone. It's a
- 7:09Speaker 1: Nashville Football League. I've been in.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Games with a twenty point lead the fourth court and lost,
- 7:13Speaker 2: So we're trying to finish play better.
- 7:16Speaker 1: It might be a little unus.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's a twenty eight to seven games at that point. Listen,
- 7:23Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's trying to run up score on anybody.
- 7:25Speaker 2: When you when your total score is in the twenties,
- 7:29Speaker 2: check back with me if it's in the forties or
- 7:32Speaker 2: high thirties. Come on, I don't think so either. Now,
- 7:35Speaker 2: if the Lions were doing fake field goals up fifty two.
- 7:37Speaker 3: To the fourteen teams on the Titans different issue, but
- 7:40Speaker 3: they weren't. They were getting their touchdowns and stuff on big,
- 7:43Speaker 3: gigantic chunk plays and kick returns and plump returns and
- 7:47Speaker 3: all that stuff because the Titans were just feckless.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They just couldn't defend that stuff. So Scott Hansen and
- 7:54Speaker 1: red Zone couldn't keep up. I mean, there's one.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Point where Lions had like like three touchdowns. It felt
- 7:59Speaker 2: like in a sixty seconds. Yeah, and it was Mason
- 8:03Speaker 2: Rudolph looking like prime Brett Farv, either dropping in beautiful
- 8:06Speaker 2: passes to Calvin Ridley or throwing interceptions. Oh boy, Well,
- 8:13Speaker 2: since you did.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Bring up Brett Brett far not Brett Farv, I was
- 8:19Speaker 1: gonna say Aaron Rodgers that you brought up earlier.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Oh oh man, Yeah, uh.
- 8:27Speaker 3: He was seventeen to twenty eight, two hundred thirty three
- 8:29Speaker 3: yards and two touchdowns was his deal. Garret Wilson called
- 8:32Speaker 3: five passes for one hundred thirteen yards. But the Patriots
- 8:35Speaker 3: beat the Jets. The Jets defense, which has been good
- 8:37Speaker 3: during most of the season, was not yesterday to lose
- 8:41Speaker 3: to that Patriots team that now, thanks to New England's win,
- 8:44Speaker 3: both the Patriots and Jets are brought to two and six.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Overall two and six, and if you compared the roster's
- 8:51Speaker 2: side by side, Craig, I don't think anybody would go, yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 2: give give me the Pats, Give me the Pats, give
- 8:56Speaker 2: me Kayshawn Boody, Taekwon Thornton, shout out Baylor, Austin Hooper, Tomorrow,
- 9:01Speaker 2: Douglass over the Jets receiving core of Garrett Wilson, de Fonte, Adams,
- 9:05Speaker 2: Tyler Conklin, Exavier Gibson. But what happens to England somehow
- 9:10Speaker 2: gets a win after you know, Jerrodd Mayo called the
- 9:13Speaker 2: team soft, and you could tell by the way the
- 9:14Speaker 2: Patriots defense reacted after shutting down the Jets that they
- 9:18Speaker 2: really wanted that game. And how about Jakobe Prissett, who
- 9:21Speaker 2: is bench per Drake may comes in because make It's injured.
- 9:25Speaker 2: He ends the game with a higher QBR than Rogers.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Now I know Rogers is you know, he's probably playing
- 9:31Speaker 2: through some injuries here. But this is the Jets team
- 9:34Speaker 2: that what a disaster of a year two and six.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know they're going to even come
- 9:39Speaker 2: close to making the playoffs with all the money they
- 9:42Speaker 2: have put in big, yikes big.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Okay, So let's see if we could pick out seven
- 9:46Speaker 3: playoff teams from each conference right now. In the AFC East,
- 9:50Speaker 3: Bills are six and two. Then he got Dolphins two
- 9:53Speaker 3: and five, Patriots two and six, Jets.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Two and six. I only see one there, see Buffalo.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Now, if TUA can stay healthy, can Miami kind of
- 10:01Speaker 2: can they get the eight nine wins?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Okay? So right now we'll just say Buffalo. Okay.
- 10:06Speaker 3: North Steelers five and two, Ravens five and three, Bengals
- 10:11Speaker 3: three and five, Browns two and six.
- 10:13Speaker 1: At least two right with Steelers and Ravens used to
- 10:15Speaker 1: go that for the moment.
- 10:17Speaker 3: South Texans six and two, Colts four and four, Jags
- 10:21Speaker 3: two and six, Titans one and six.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Let's say Texans for now. We'll come back, okay.
- 10:27Speaker 3: West Chiefs seven to zero, Broncos five and three, Chargers
- 10:31Speaker 3: four and three, Raiders.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Two and six.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I think the Chiefs and Chargers out of the two.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Do you like the Chargers? I can't. I can't say Denver.
- 10:40Speaker 1: At five and three. You can't say that, not yet
- 10:42Speaker 1: with BONICKX, I just I can't put. I mean, is
- 10:44Speaker 1: looking good? So we're at five teams.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Well, if we add either the Chargers or Broncos, let's
- 10:50Speaker 2: let's leave them out. So that's five right now, So
- 10:53Speaker 2: two playoff spots to fill between the Broncos, Chargers, Colts, Bengals,
- 10:58Speaker 2: and then maybe Dolphins.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Dolphins. That's tough. Yeah, Okay, NFC.
- 11:05Speaker 3: In the East, you got Commanders six and two, Eagles
- 11:09Speaker 3: five and two, then Cowboys three and four, Giants.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Do and five. Yeah, I see Commanders, Eagles.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Okay, North Lions six and one, Packers six and two,
- 11:18Speaker 3: Vikings five and two, Bears four and three.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Lions, Packers for sure.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I'm getting a little bit worried about Minnesota since they're
- 11:26Speaker 2: losing their uh it's a tackle dearsol.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Right, we'll hold four for the moment. South Falcons five
- 11:32Speaker 3: and three, Bucks four, four Saints two, six Panthers one,
- 11:35Speaker 3: seven Falcons. Yeah, West, good luck with this.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Cardinals are four and four of the forty nine. Ers
- 11:43Speaker 3: are four and four of the Seahawks are four and four.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Rams are three and four. I kind of like the
- 11:49Speaker 3: Rams the most.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think you're only getting one out of that. I'm
- 11:52Speaker 1: gonna tell you right now.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I think San Francisco, if they can get McCaffrey back,
- 11:57Speaker 2: they'll be okay, that's tough though, that's tough.
- 12:00Speaker 1: That's sixteen.
- 12:01Speaker 2: That's six so see, I would put the Vikings in
- 12:04Speaker 2: this promon so yeah, I think, yeah, it's Cowboys aren't
- 12:07Speaker 2: making it with their schedule coming up New York.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yes, so it's got to be between the Vikings.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and then any of three from the NFC West
- 12:15Speaker 3: other than the champion, right, Probably not.
- 12:17Speaker 2: We'll be back to wrap up our number two on
- 12:19Speaker 2: Sports twenty A. Have thirteen under the zone
