- 0:54Speaker 1: or otherwise known as the future home of the Least
- 0:58Speaker 1: Manner assisted living and animal care Facility.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It's Sports Allegedly.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Welcome, Welcome, welcome, Thank you all for joining us for
- 1:06Speaker 3: this episode of Sports Allegedly on this January last day
- 1:11Speaker 3: of the month, January thirty, first, twenty five. Oh so
- 1:18Speaker 3: much to review to talk about. We'll talk a little basketball,
- 1:21Speaker 3: We'll talk a little college basketball. We'll talk a lot
- 1:23Speaker 3: of NFL. I'm sorry, we'll talk to some coaching football
- 1:29Speaker 3: changes in the NFL and college. But we're gonna start,
- 1:33Speaker 3: as we do in this time of year. Let's review
- 1:37Speaker 3: those big games that we watched last week, the AFC
- 1:39Speaker 3: and the NFC Championship.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I can't believe that you're not bringing up UFL or
- 1:45Speaker 2: EFL news.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Oh miss that. Okay, let's start in the NFC Championship
- 1:50Speaker 3: last Sunday, the early game the Eagles Commanders. You know, halftime.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I didn't get to watch all this. I got to
- 1:57Speaker 3: watch the second half, but halftime, you know, besides, it's
- 2:00Speaker 3: the dumb turnovers by Washington. It was one of those
- 2:03Speaker 3: deals that you looked at this game and it really
- 2:07Speaker 3: wasn't out of hand. It was twenty seven to fifteen
- 2:10Speaker 3: at halftime, and you're thinking, you got.
- 2:11Speaker 2: A chance, you got a change, you got a chance
- 2:13Speaker 2: short up and make your make your changes.
- 2:17Speaker 3: And as bad as Washington had played, you know they
- 2:22Speaker 3: were in there. But then the second half comes around,
- 2:25Speaker 3: it becomes one of those you kind of figured this
- 2:29Speaker 3: is how it was gonna go.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Okay, let's just say that it was the fourth quarter
- 2:32Speaker 2: that it really gonna hand.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Sure, but you you you realized that Washington just wasn't
- 2:38Speaker 3: gonna catch them. It just that was what you watch.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I mean, Washington made it farther than they should have.
- 2:44Speaker 3: They were ahead of their due time this season.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yes, you had you had the rookie quarterback and said
- 2:50Speaker 2: that he was gonna be the first rookie quarterback to
- 2:52Speaker 2: start in a Super Bowl, which he got close enough
- 2:55Speaker 2: that he did. He he tried, and you had a
- 2:59Speaker 2: coach who is an ex Super Bowl coach not winning,
- 3:04Speaker 2: but you know went to the Super Bowl because Quinn
- 3:08Speaker 2: spent how many years in Atlanta a bunch and so yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 2: so he knew how to get there. He knows what
- 3:14Speaker 2: he needs to he knows what he needed to do.
- 3:16Speaker 2: To get there. Problem was you ran into popa vic
- 3:21Speaker 2: and that that front line that after the second half.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Really well, the first washing it Yeah, the first half
- 3:31Speaker 3: was turnovers obviously, you know four toneovers during the turnovers
- 3:35Speaker 3: during the game, and and then you've got you know,
- 3:39Speaker 3: the time of possession. Even with Saquon running for over
- 3:41Speaker 3: one hundred yards again and three touchdowns. Of course, the
- 3:45Speaker 3: first play of the game was that long one. Was
- 3:48Speaker 3: it sixty seventy yards for the score and and so
- 3:53Speaker 3: that kind of set the tone right there. And Washington
- 3:57Speaker 3: was playing was playing from behind right off the bat.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And but you know, time and possession, third down efficiency
- 4:05Speaker 3: wasn't so great for Washington. Uh, they they had more plays.
- 4:09Speaker 3: They obviously didn't have more yards, but the passing yard
- 4:14Speaker 3: or the rushing yards was critical for Washington win this game.
- 4:17Speaker 3: They had to run the ball and they had to
- 4:19Speaker 3: stop the run and they didn't two or twenty nine yards, right.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Also had to control that the defensive line you had
- 4:24Speaker 2: to get them.
- 4:24Speaker 3: To well, you had to run them all guys. Yeah,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you had to run the ball. And you had to
- 4:28Speaker 3: run the ball.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And even even with Daniels Daniels and uh, what running.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Backs Robinson Robins. But the but really, when it comes
- 4:38Speaker 3: down to.
- 4:38Speaker 2: It, Uhler didn't even get started to either.
- 4:40Speaker 3: When it comes down to it is the turnovers, turnover.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I cannot say that it's turnovers the turnoversovers turnovers, turnovers
- 4:50Speaker 3: have just done them in and and and that's and
- 4:52Speaker 3: that's what happened during this game. But hey, kudos to Washington. Well,
- 4:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna talk a little bit about the Eagles in
- 4:59Speaker 3: my the Super Bowl preview when we do a little
- 5:01Speaker 3: bit after this about god, I don't know did we
- 5:05Speaker 3: ride it?
- 5:06Speaker 2: We did, I don't know where wearing that giant notepad
- 5:11Speaker 2: that you see, is that it up there?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yes, that's it right there. Twenty four to twenty one
- 5:19Speaker 3: Eagles and I have thirty eight twenty eight. So obviously
- 5:22Speaker 3: outscored way more than what we thought as far as
- 5:27Speaker 3: the Eagles. But in reality, Washington, we knew that weakness
- 5:31Speaker 3: was the defense. They have to fix that in the offseason.
- 5:33Speaker 3: They need to use some draft picks. They need to
- 5:35Speaker 3: shore up the defensive line and the secondary. And you know,
- 5:39Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts twenty to twenty eight.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think they have small pieces that they need. It's
- 5:42Speaker 2: it's not like a not far.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I mean, you probably need a better running back, I think,
- 5:48Speaker 3: and maybe a guy to go with McLaurin. As far
- 5:52Speaker 3: as the wide receiver, I think you're good enough to
- 5:53Speaker 3: tight end. But it's a deep it's a deep one.
- 5:56Speaker 3: It's a deep running back draft. So you're able to
- 5:59Speaker 3: find that and then you know, find some defensive pieces.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And like I said, this is that coaching staff's first year.
- 6:06Speaker 3: He brought a lot of backup, fringe players. You know,
- 6:10Speaker 3: a couple from Dallas went and pied so and they
- 6:14Speaker 3: improved as far as the team. And then of course
- 6:17Speaker 3: you've got the the Rookie of the year, as he
- 6:19Speaker 3: should be, Jade and Daniels. There's been different awards. I
- 6:24Speaker 3: don't know about the official one, but I mean, I
- 6:27Speaker 3: don't know there's no way anybody else gets that order.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Uh. You boy brought Bowers, you were trying to.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I never had him ahead of Daniels after you know,
- 6:36Speaker 3: for a week four or five. That was my preseason prediction.
- 6:39Speaker 2: No, no, no, we talked about the middle of the season,
- 6:42Speaker 2: you still had ahead of Daniels.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think I had him right there.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I said, he needs to be considered, but you know,
- 6:49Speaker 3: with Daniels playing all year, you know bound to have it.
- 6:53Speaker 3: But yeah, it was a it was a good what
- 6:58Speaker 3: a great season? Sometimes that eight where it gets don that.
- 7:01Speaker 3: But it was a very very very good season for
- 7:03Speaker 3: Washington with way better than what most people thought except
- 7:07Speaker 3: sports allegedly because we had them in the playoffs we did,
- 7:10Speaker 3: and way above the six and a half. And here's
- 7:13Speaker 3: the deal, how will they handle the pressure next year
- 7:17Speaker 3: of being that team not the favorite in the East.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I still think of the number tools but the number
- 7:22Speaker 3: two team by far, the number two team that they've
- 7:28Speaker 3: made and to make the playoffs, they will have to
- 7:30Speaker 3: make the playoffs. And and but you got that website
- 7:35Speaker 3: spot right, I'll find it because I want to look
- 7:38Speaker 3: at the cap space, because the cap space for the Washington,
- 7:41Speaker 3: if my memory serves me correct, is pretty favorable to
- 7:45Speaker 3: them this year. I know some of the teams, like
- 7:50Speaker 3: I think the Patriots have a really good amount left
- 7:54Speaker 3: for that, but I want to say Washington was up
- 7:56Speaker 3: there quite a bit. But as far as the game,
- 7:59Speaker 3: like I said, the turnovers killed them. I thought the
- 8:01Speaker 3: momentum was always on Philly's side. Course it was at
- 8:03Speaker 3: home for them, but kudos to Washington, dan Quinn, You've
- 8:07Speaker 3: done a marvelous job there. Jayde and Daniels making the Bears.
- 8:12Speaker 3: And we talked about this a little bit in the draft,
- 8:15Speaker 3: was how good is Jaydon Daniels going to be compared
- 8:18Speaker 3: to Kayleb Williams. And we found out and we thought
- 8:23Speaker 3: that that he would be right up there with him,
- 8:27Speaker 3: and he actually excepted.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I said that he was going to be better
- 8:31Speaker 2: and I wanted him because all of his you know,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but all of his metrics
- 8:35Speaker 2: worked out. Yeah, his arm, his decision making, his ability
- 8:40Speaker 2: to see the field, all that worked out. Yeah, there
- 8:43Speaker 2: you go.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So for this season and this is it. This is
- 8:48Speaker 3: estimated cap space obviously for the twenty twenty five for
- 8:53Speaker 3: the this year coming seas. Yes is would they call
- 8:57Speaker 3: it that though, even though it's still twenty.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Four real at the twenty twenty five cap space, because
- 9:03Speaker 2: it'd be the end. Okay, yeah, soything should be ready.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That's right, So that it looks like the Redskins haven't
- 9:09Speaker 3: had eighty two millions, so that they have the third biggest.
- 9:15Speaker 2: New England does come in with one hundred and twenty.
- 9:17Speaker 3: New England was up there. I forgot about Las Vegas.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Well we'll talk if we can come back to this
- 9:22Speaker 3: and talk about.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Las Vegas hasn't been ship with a quarterback, and.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Well we'll talk about that a little bit. We talked
- 9:26Speaker 3: about the catching changes because that's big.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Back to this, back to the game. Uh, And and
- 9:31Speaker 2: what happened was you know, of course Philly's defense stood up,
- 9:36Speaker 2: came up strong. Uh was Dean in that game? Noka Dean?
- 9:42Speaker 3: He might not have played.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I think he was held out for them. I think
- 9:45Speaker 2: I think he still was out. And that that was
- 9:48Speaker 2: a big part of their defense throughout the season. And what, uh,
- 9:54Speaker 2: what Vic has done with these kids who if you
- 9:57Speaker 2: saw him last year, remember the team last year, even
- 9:59Speaker 2: th though they did win the East, it was night
- 10:02Speaker 2: and day versus the team this year.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there was a lot of.
- 10:06Speaker 2: The defense, the way the defense looked and a lot
- 10:09Speaker 2: of those players are still dead.
- 10:10Speaker 3: And I think you also got to give credit to
- 10:15Speaker 3: rookie could be probably not gonna win defensive rookie. It
- 10:20Speaker 3: was probably Jared Verse. It looks pretty good at the Rams.
- 10:24Speaker 3: But and that that guy fell to them. But no,
- 10:28Speaker 3: I think that you know, Zach Bond he's uh, he's
- 10:31Speaker 3: a linebacker. I believe he was a He got brought
- 10:34Speaker 3: in from gosh where was he at the Saints I
- 10:37Speaker 3: think last year, and so he got brought in as
- 10:41Speaker 3: a guy that was that was a free agent. He's
- 10:44Speaker 3: out of Wisconsin, Ye Saints and and a rookie season
- 10:50Speaker 3: look at or big special teams guy Philadelphia brings them over.
- 10:55Speaker 3: His highest UH total for tackles was thirty and twenty
- 10:59Speaker 3: one in twenty three. This year he had one hundred
- 11:02Speaker 3: and fifty one. Obviously beat everything. He had a third
- 11:07Speaker 3: round pick, went to New Orleans and they brought him over.
- 11:08Speaker 3: And it's one of those guys that are showing up
- 11:10Speaker 3: and coaching means of difference. Now when we talk about
- 11:14Speaker 3: the Super Bowl matchup, I've never been a fan of Sirianni,
- 11:17Speaker 3: but he oh Venice, but he does he he's more
- 11:22Speaker 3: of the raw, raw guy and he lets his coordinators coordinate.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And especially after he lost Steichen and damn it, I
- 11:31Speaker 2: forgot his name again. Connors Steichen, Agannon. We thought he
- 11:36Speaker 2: was done well.
- 11:37Speaker 3: They kind of did suffer last year. They did well,
- 11:39Speaker 3: they looked they didn't look as good. No, they went
- 11:42Speaker 3: through we gotta remember this the Veles the Super Bowl
- 11:45Speaker 3: two years ago.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I remember he brought over Ellen Moore, who is an
- 11:49Speaker 2: unbattled coordinator.
- 11:51Speaker 3: From who did not have a good team at Dallas
- 11:55Speaker 3: and chargege Dallas. Okay, but I think it was more
- 11:58Speaker 3: long lines of Mark Mike mccar and he wanted to show, hey,
- 12:01Speaker 3: I'm gonna call the players myself. Well, he got the
- 12:03Speaker 3: hell out of town and I don't blame him there
- 12:05Speaker 3: and and went to a defensive minded team and and
- 12:09Speaker 3: statistically wasn't bad offensive, The team was just horrible defensively.
- 12:13Speaker 2: You know, you saw what we saw what Harbon did
- 12:16Speaker 2: with that team, got them to the playoffs, the playoffs
- 12:19Speaker 2: and turned that team around, especially with the picks that
- 12:21Speaker 2: he took. Correct A lot of people were like that
- 12:25Speaker 2: with with what he took alt in.
- 12:26Speaker 3: The first round. Well, I think the Grizzly the was
- 12:30Speaker 3: it Grizly? What's his?
- 12:33Speaker 2: That know?
- 12:33Speaker 3: That? Isley? Or the tight end they have? Yeah? I
- 12:36Speaker 3: mean that guy's turned out to be a surprise.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Disley Disley, Oh, I think I came out of I
- 12:41Speaker 2: used to have him when I first started playing fantasy football.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I would pick him up. Yeah, because he was in
- 12:47Speaker 2: or not when I first started, but later years I
- 12:49Speaker 2: picked him up because he was a dark horse when he.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Was on Seattle is where he came from.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, he was just injury prone.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Okay, I thought he was like he would thought he
- 12:57Speaker 3: was a rookie.
- 12:58Speaker 2: No, I know he is. Uh, he seems like a
- 13:02Speaker 2: rookie because if you look at how long he's played,
- 13:05Speaker 2: and if you look at how long he's played, he's
- 13:07Speaker 2: been injured the majority of his seat.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Well, I mean that guy's kind of turned around, and
- 13:12Speaker 3: you're right it with Seahawks and he's come around. He
- 13:14Speaker 3: was a fourth round pick, but that guy was a surprise,
- 13:18Speaker 3: you know, And and he'd averaged more yards per route
- 13:21Speaker 3: run than than Hunter.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Than I just had to stay away from him because
- 13:28Speaker 2: injury prone like his every year.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Of course you had Lad McConkie. You know, he's a potential.
- 13:34Speaker 3: He's not gonna he's not gonna win Rookie of the Year,
- 13:36Speaker 3: obviously Daniels will, but he's gonna be top five.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Well in yards, he was fighting with Bowers. Yeah, correct
- 13:42Speaker 2: for rookies, for rookies with the most receiving yards.
- 13:45Speaker 3: That's correct. All right, let's move on. Let's talk a little.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Bit, but they finishing this up. Anyways, it turned out,
- 13:53Speaker 2: you know, the commanders started getting desperate and you can
- 13:58Speaker 2: see that at the end of the third quarter beginning
- 14:00Speaker 2: of the fourth quarter, and that's where everything fell apart
- 14:05Speaker 2: because if you look at how many passing attempts Jayan
- 14:08Speaker 2: and Daniels ended up having at forty eight and the
- 14:10Speaker 2: team only ran twenty five times. There there was desperation
- 14:15Speaker 2: in that.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Well.
- 14:18Speaker 2: And remember Tresway, the punter, good path, he had a
- 14:21Speaker 2: pass but yeah, Philly, Philly took over. Philly uh turned
- 14:28Speaker 2: turned everything on correct. Kenny Pickett even got to play
- 14:31Speaker 2: little hands, old tiny Hans got to got to come in.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So no, and I know you're happy about that because
- 14:40Speaker 2: you love Kidny Pickett.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yes, And I mean I don't really have anything. I mean,
- 14:47Speaker 3: it was it's what I expected. I expected to be
- 14:49Speaker 3: a little closer. And it was like you said, for
- 14:51Speaker 3: the first.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Well you don't. You didn't expect will Shipley to get
- 14:53Speaker 2: seventy seven yards on four carries.
- 14:56Speaker 3: No, I just think it was it's just because.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Didn't he get a breakaway run there towards the.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I think I did have the volume on this one. Now,
- 15:04Speaker 3: let's go to the next game. Who are what game that?
- 15:07Speaker 3: I was one hundred percent invested right from.
- 15:11Speaker 2: The I think everybody in America was. Because they broke
- 15:15Speaker 2: uh the total the totals, Yeah, they it came out
- 15:19Speaker 2: they had the highest rated AFC Championship game of all time.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Really yeah, yeah, everybody was invested in this, and I
- 15:28Speaker 2: know that now with the Chiefs and the Eagles going
- 15:30Speaker 2: to the Super Bowl. They said that people are just
- 15:32Speaker 2: selling their tickets.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's fifty seven point seven million viewers. And
- 15:37Speaker 3: it was the most watched AFC championship, like Sean said,
- 15:40Speaker 3: in history, yeah, history, And this.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Was this was Josh Allen's monkey to get off his back.
- 15:49Speaker 3: And did you kind of feel it was?
- 15:51Speaker 2: I mean yeah, oh yeah. Even as soon as they
- 15:54Speaker 2: got there in the hair of the player, you.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Picked him big. I picked him twenty seven to twenty three.
- 15:59Speaker 3: You picked them twenty I know thirteen.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Didn't didn't go did it? Well?
- 16:05Speaker 3: Okay, so go ahead, I'll let you start. What was
- 16:07Speaker 3: what I mean? You you what was the keys to
- 16:10Speaker 3: the game? I mean, what did you watch?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Is the game?
- 16:11Speaker 3: I mean what I mean I got all kinds of
- 16:13Speaker 3: things that I could just regurgitate out of my mouth.
- 16:15Speaker 3: And I know the three things that really pissed me
- 16:17Speaker 3: off during the game that I literally was yelling at
- 16:20Speaker 3: the TV because I'm seeing this and why I don't understand.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Why is it the moment? I mean, should every team
- 16:29Speaker 3: just hired a couple fan boys like us just to
- 16:31Speaker 3: watch the game, and we look at each other and go,
- 16:33Speaker 3: why the fuck?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Why are you doing that?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Why are they okay? But anyway, go ahead and give
- 16:36Speaker 3: me your points.
- 16:37Speaker 2: On this game. I don't understand. Buffalo comes in, they
- 16:41Speaker 2: they have that hard game against the Ravens. They have
- 16:46Speaker 2: they have what looks like an amazing defense, which granted
- 16:52Speaker 2: they did get a couple of stops, but for the
- 16:54Speaker 2: most part, the defense was just letting Patrick Mahomes pass
- 16:58Speaker 2: all over them. They weren't really, you know, covering Travis Kelcey.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I remember, I remember seeing the Simon J. P Ryan.
- 17:08Speaker 2: He got that one catch and he just took off
- 17:10Speaker 2: seventeen yards and Buffalo's offensive play calling I just kind
- 17:17Speaker 2: of went downhill. It doesn't look it doesn't show it
- 17:21Speaker 2: in the stats because you had thirty four passes versus
- 17:24Speaker 2: thirty two runs. But at the same time, you had
- 17:30Speaker 2: receivers dropping balls, very important balls. You kept getting to
- 17:35Speaker 2: fourth downs. I don't know how many How many fourth
- 17:38Speaker 2: downs did they did? They did they have in this game?
- 17:42Speaker 2: And they kept getting to fourth down and yeah, Buffalo
- 17:47Speaker 2: and up four to six, and they were in nept
- 17:52Speaker 2: on offense. They were not that offense that you saw
- 17:54Speaker 2: in that Baltimore game. They weren't that offense that you
- 17:56Speaker 2: saw at the end of the year. To get there,
- 17:59Speaker 2: they weren't the offense that It's like the offense took
- 18:03Speaker 2: eight steps back as soon as they got there, some
- 18:08Speaker 2: kind of Kansas City fear. I don't know what it was.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I honestly can't tell you. The offensive play calling went downhill.
- 18:15Speaker 2: How many runs did they have in a row? They
- 18:17Speaker 2: kept trying tush pushes? Was that was Josh Allen over
- 18:21Speaker 2: the line on that last one? Why did that door
- 18:26Speaker 2: just slam? So? I don't know. I don't know where
- 18:31Speaker 2: it all went wrong. It's that that monkey got right
- 18:35Speaker 2: back on Josh Allen's back. May I yes, absolut.
- 18:40Speaker 3: My, oh my, oh my. Let me tell you where
- 18:44Speaker 3: it all went wrong. A couple of things I thought
- 18:49Speaker 3: that I thought they went for two early in the
- 18:53Speaker 3: I think it was a second quarter. Maybe I thought
- 18:54Speaker 3: they were chasing points a little bit. You know, at
- 18:56Speaker 3: one point it was twenty one. I think it was
- 19:00Speaker 3: twenty one to twenty.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Twenty one sixteen.
- 19:02Speaker 3: No, it was twenty one to twenty two. It was
- 19:06Speaker 3: it was the third, okay, so twenty one twenty one.
- 19:08Speaker 3: First was twenty one sixteen. No, no, no, I know that.
- 19:12Speaker 3: But I mean, so you get in the third quarter
- 19:13Speaker 3: at one time, that's that's nineteen twenty. That's twenty two
- 19:16Speaker 3: to twenty one. That's what it is. Account of the
- 19:18Speaker 3: math room because they missed that two, so they're leading.
- 19:22Speaker 3: It was Buffalo is still leading in the third quarter.
- 19:25Speaker 3: There's there's that.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Of taking here, this is what you're saying, instead of
- 19:28Speaker 2: taking that field goal at the end of the.
- 19:31Speaker 3: First half, Yeah, just take it. You went for two, Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 3: just just take it. Just take the one and it'd
- 19:35Speaker 3: be down, you know, take the one. I thought that
- 19:39Speaker 3: was a little bit of chasing. And then you look
- 19:42Speaker 3: at the third quarter. James Cook scores a one yard
- 19:46Speaker 3: touchdown there, they miss another.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Only points scored the third quarter was by Buffaloes.
- 19:53Speaker 3: So you so you score there, it's twenty three to
- 19:56Speaker 3: twenty one. And you know, you're just kicking your point
- 20:01Speaker 3: and then you turn around and let so let's say, yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 3: they score, so it's twenty three to twenty eight, because
- 20:10Speaker 3: they're not going to go for two. Kansas City is
- 20:12Speaker 3: not more likely, not Q and you go thirty twenty
- 20:18Speaker 3: eight and and then you let them score. I guess
- 20:24Speaker 3: it'd still be the same, you'd be thirty to thirty one,
- 20:27Speaker 3: or they'd win by one. But I just thought the
- 20:29Speaker 3: point chasing was odd early on that second thing that
- 20:33Speaker 3: I thought that was really that was more astounding than
- 20:37Speaker 3: that was. And you highlight a little bit was the
- 20:40Speaker 3: the third down and one fourth down and one give
- 20:46Speaker 3: the ball to Josh Allen. He's under center. He doesn't
- 20:49Speaker 3: do that as much. Hell, there's nobody in the backfield
- 20:53Speaker 3: behind him, and if there is, you're wasting a guy
- 20:56Speaker 3: right there. Tony Romo to his credit, and I know
- 21:00Speaker 3: you're not a huge fan, Okay, well I like him.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Was a quarterback.
- 21:05Speaker 3: But he says, he turns around and says, we always
- 21:07Speaker 3: know that Josh goes to the left, and then he
- 21:10Speaker 3: goes to the left.
- 21:12Speaker 2: So it was some time they did go to the run, actually,
- 21:14Speaker 2: but it.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Was almost like you just it's almost like you called
- 21:18Speaker 3: the play. It's like Joe Brady, who has had an
- 21:21Speaker 3: exceptional year calling plays and just pissed down his leg
- 21:25Speaker 3: this game, and you turn around and you go run
- 21:29Speaker 3: up the mill, you know, and then you're running back
- 21:33Speaker 3: who has had a ele of a year, James Cook
- 21:35Speaker 3: in his fourth quarter, he's nowhere. He's nowhere on these
- 21:39Speaker 3: these first these fourth and ones, third and ones. Now,
- 21:43Speaker 3: I did think the knocks stretch. Was it Knox or
- 21:47Speaker 3: Kincaid who stretched for that? Who's eighty eight? Who stretched
- 21:50Speaker 3: for the first down? The ref marks at a first
- 21:52Speaker 3: down and then they don't mark it a first down.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I thought that was a huge play there because I
- 21:59Speaker 3: thought that change the whole play calling on the fourth down,
- 22:04Speaker 3: and then they don't get that one. So, yeah, it
- 22:07Speaker 3: was it was Knox. I think that was it Knox
- 22:11Speaker 3: that went for that. I don't Yeah, he's idiot.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I know.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I think he was eighty eight. Now I'm thinking different,
- 22:14Speaker 3: But who stretched it? Maybe God? I was really thinking
- 22:17Speaker 3: it was King K.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Now, well no King K dropped the ball.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Well that we'll get to that in a minute. But no,
- 22:24Speaker 3: the whichever one of them stretched for that first down
- 22:29Speaker 3: looked to me live it was a first down. The
- 22:32Speaker 3: ref on his side, which would be the far field side,
- 22:35Speaker 3: marks it first down. The other side says bring it
- 22:39Speaker 3: over back.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Well, And it was the same thing with Josh Allen
- 22:42Speaker 2: making that that fourth down that they said that he
- 22:45Speaker 2: made it and then they said he didn't because you
- 22:47Speaker 2: had one ref coming in that he didn't make it,
- 22:50Speaker 2: and you had the other line ref coming in that
- 22:52Speaker 2: he did make it.
- 22:54Speaker 3: That's it. That's what I'm talking, not the Allen deal.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I never yeah, so King caid, we know that was
- 23:02Speaker 3: the fourth down. Gosh, maybe it was not. Anyway, whoever
- 23:10Speaker 3: it was, King Kid was the miss that fourth down
- 23:13Speaker 3: play and that was just a good blitz spot. But no,
- 23:15Speaker 3: I thought the but no, the first down or the fourth,
- 23:17Speaker 3: third and fourth down run up the quarterback snakes was horrible.
- 23:21Speaker 3: There was no game plan. You took Josh Allen up
- 23:23Speaker 3: to the line and you had Kansas City, who I
- 23:25Speaker 3: have said for the last three years. The reason, and
- 23:30Speaker 3: I don't want to get this shit about Mahomes being
- 23:33Speaker 3: electric in the playoffs, he is. But the reason you're
- 23:36Speaker 3: getting to be that one or two seed is because
- 23:41Speaker 3: your defense, if you're sitting there at the fourth and
- 23:44Speaker 3: fifth seed. You're not making the Super Bowl as much
- 23:47Speaker 3: as you have Kansas City. Your defense during the regular
- 23:50Speaker 3: season is what keeps that team in the game and
- 23:54Speaker 3: generally winning the game. And it's exactly what they done here.
- 23:58Speaker 3: They took one of the highest offenses which the Bills
- 24:01Speaker 3: this year, and they shut them down in the critical times.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Now did Buffalo shoot themselves in the foot? For sure?
- 24:08Speaker 3: I think they did. I thought the play calling was
- 24:09Speaker 3: just I just thought it was bad. I don't know
- 24:12Speaker 3: anywhere else to say it. I thought it was like
- 24:14Speaker 3: you get up to the line and it's like, hey, Josh,
- 24:16Speaker 3: can you get us a yard? Just do what you do.
- 24:19Speaker 3: It's like there was no plans and then you put
- 24:21Speaker 3: everybody up there and you're getting you're not getting the push.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Now you do play action, you do anything, and you've
- 24:29Speaker 3: got guys. You've got guys. It wasn't a it was
- 24:33Speaker 3: a It.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Was Huyard that this was a turnover on downs.
- 24:37Speaker 3: It was it would have been the past that the
- 24:40Speaker 3: tight end caught on third down that did not get
- 24:42Speaker 3: a first down, and it was Knox or Kincaid. But
- 24:47Speaker 3: the thing was, is it just the play calling? I
- 24:51Speaker 3: thought was just erocious. Then they didn't, you know, they
- 24:53Speaker 3: were so worried about Josh. That's what it looked like
- 24:57Speaker 3: to me. Josh has toned down his mistakes and it
- 25:00Speaker 3: and it looked like they were worried about that this
- 25:02Speaker 3: game a little bit. When it got down to crunch time,
- 25:05Speaker 3: I mean third and short, I don't know, throw the ball.
- 25:10Speaker 2: You know, they didn't cover any every time it was
- 25:12Speaker 2: really short.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It was always just let him run. And then they
- 25:15Speaker 3: didn't even put cook in.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It was run and you could you could tell that
- 25:18Speaker 2: it was going to be run.
- 25:21Speaker 3: That's exactly what it looks Spagnola.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Knew that it was going to be a run. Well.
- 25:24Speaker 3: That was the third thing I was going to talk
- 25:25Speaker 3: about is the coaching was far, far superior on the
- 25:31Speaker 3: chief sideline versus the Bills. And I'm not saying by
- 25:34Speaker 3: any means have McDermott go, but it's they get I
- 25:38Speaker 3: don't know what it is. It's like they just Marty.
- 25:41Speaker 2: He's the Marty Schottenheimer of our area era. Remember Marty
- 25:45Speaker 2: could never get to the super Bowl. He could build
- 25:47Speaker 2: great teams, great teams throughout the season.
- 25:50Speaker 3: That's probably a pretty good compar.
- 25:53Speaker 2: We remember because he took over for the Chargers when
- 25:55Speaker 2: they got Philip Rivers, they got rid of Drew Brees.
- 25:58Speaker 2: He was a Kansas City whenever they were going to
- 26:02Speaker 2: the playoffs every season. And I believe Washington Redskins was
- 26:06Speaker 2: the other team that he did or I'm thinking of
- 26:09Speaker 2: nor just Nord Turner. I remember that Schottenheimer. Marty Schottenheimer
- 26:15Speaker 2: is such a great coach, but he could never get
- 26:17Speaker 2: to the super Bowl.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Oh, you're right, he just it all fell apart.
- 26:24Speaker 2: He can get you to the championship game, but it
- 26:27Speaker 2: all fell apart.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Head coach. He was head coach of the Browns for
- 26:30Speaker 3: a little Browns Chiefs. He was a Redskins one year.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I didn't remember that.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but he didn't do anything there. That's not That's
- 26:38Speaker 2: what I'm saying. It was a it was a weird year.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you look at the Cleveland four and four,
- 26:45Speaker 3: eight and eight, twelve and four ten and trying to
- 26:48Speaker 3: get rid of him.
- 26:49Speaker 2: That's trying to fix that too.
- 26:50Speaker 3: He goes to case he eight and seven, eleven, five,
- 26:52Speaker 3: ten and six, ten and six eleven, five nine and seven, thirteen,
- 26:54Speaker 3: three nine.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Look at all those where he'd lost, look at where he.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Lost divisional game game wild card. He did lose the
- 27:02Speaker 3: Bills in ninety three with the Chiefs and the AFC
- 27:05Speaker 3: Championship game, but the wild card divisional Yeah, I mean
- 27:09Speaker 3: he never could get out of that Washington he was even.
- 27:13Speaker 3: And then he went to San sorry San Diego, went
- 27:16Speaker 3: eight and eight, four and twelve, twelve and four, nine
- 27:18Speaker 3: and seven, fourteen and two. Yeah, and then lost in
- 27:25Speaker 3: the divisional game to the Patriots, which obviously that you know,
- 27:27Speaker 3: there we go Patriots on a roll.
- 27:29Speaker 2: And he really made Philip Rivers look amazing. And then
- 27:32Speaker 2: it did help Philip Rivers's career. But Philip Rivers the
- 27:34Speaker 2: same way he couldn't couldn't get to a Super Bowl.
- 27:36Speaker 3: He was. He was one of the best coaches never
- 27:40Speaker 3: to win one. Yeah, exactly right, I agree.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I remember watching Shottenheimer and hard Nos root for Shottenheimer.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I did too, and he just he he could never
- 27:52Speaker 2: get too. It was like watching them before he won
- 27:56Speaker 2: with Houston. It was the Houston the base ball coach Baker,
- 28:04Speaker 2: Dusty Baker. Oh yeah, remember Dusty Baker would get teams
- 28:07Speaker 2: to the to the title and couldn't win.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Now he did when he was at the UFL. He
- 28:14Speaker 3: did win the twenty eleven UFL championship with who the Virginia?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's way, but that was that was.
- 28:27Speaker 3: He was the Virginia Destroyers.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yes, well, okay, does that count as a super Bowl win?
- 28:34Speaker 3: No? No, just a championship win.
- 28:38Speaker 2: So Buffalo really has to get that off their back.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Buffalo really needs that monkey off their back. Josh Allen
- 28:47Speaker 2: needs to beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, not just
- 28:50Speaker 2: a regular season. Regular season doesn't mean shit because he's
- 28:57Speaker 2: he does have the most wins against Patrick m'ho. How's
- 29:01Speaker 2: a quarterback? You do know that? Do you think it's except?
- 29:07Speaker 3: Is this comparable to And I'm sure someone has said this.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I'm trying to think if I've heard it, so I'm
- 29:12Speaker 3: not gonna call. I don't want to say I'm copying.
- 29:13Speaker 3: I'm sure i've heard it. But is Peyton Manning Tom Brady?
- 29:18Speaker 3: Is is that kind of what you see here? Is
- 29:21Speaker 3: it gonna take a little bit longer for Josh to
- 29:23Speaker 3: finally come through? I mean, I mean, I mean you
- 29:27Speaker 3: look at the Chiefs. I mean, we've talked about when's
- 29:28Speaker 3: the Chiefs payroll gonna be in demise? Look what they
- 29:31Speaker 3: do I mean, and that's what we'll talk about it,
- 29:35Speaker 3: and I'll kind of segue into the Super Bowl preview,
- 29:37Speaker 3: well a little bit of a little bit of a preview.
- 29:41Speaker 3: But what they do is they they have a quarterback. Obviously,
- 29:46Speaker 3: that's number one. We all know this when you watch
- 29:48Speaker 3: the NFL. And that's why so many teams draft the
- 29:51Speaker 3: domast ass quarterbacks because they try to hit It's like
- 29:54Speaker 3: shooting but fishing of barrels at the old saying, eventually
- 29:57Speaker 3: gonna hit one, it's gonna float to the top. And
- 30:00Speaker 3: all these teams are trying. It's why quarterbacks are a premium.
- 30:03Speaker 3: And if you're a good court excuse me, a good quarterback,
- 30:06Speaker 3: by god, you're gonna make the money. So and we'll
- 30:10Speaker 3: talk a little bit about free agency quarterbacks because there's
- 30:12Speaker 3: a lot of talk about that, but you have teams
- 30:16Speaker 3: and they don't. And that's another thing. The Bills traded
- 30:19Speaker 3: him to pick that gave them my homes, which is
- 30:21Speaker 3: the irony of that is so nuts. So but anyway
- 30:25Speaker 3: you take them, he's got a quarterback, and then you've drafted,
- 30:28Speaker 3: well at your line, you obviously got Creed, You've got
- 30:32Speaker 3: some other guys in place. Now they're old line sucked
- 30:34Speaker 3: ass when Tampa killed them because they had problems and injuries. Then,
- 30:39Speaker 3: but where else do you pay a lot of money?
- 30:41Speaker 3: He hadn't had big time receivers. I mean, remember Tyreek
- 30:43Speaker 3: Hill left and everyone's like, oh god, here they go.
- 30:45Speaker 3: You know it's gonna they're.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Going to be down.
- 30:49Speaker 3: No, but I'm saying he was electric for that team,
- 30:52Speaker 3: and he was part of the beginning of that you
- 30:54Speaker 3: know star and and then he's gone, and then everyone's like,
- 30:58Speaker 3: oh my gosh, what you know, what are they doing?
- 31:02Speaker 3: You know, I think Darius Tony in the last Super
- 31:04Speaker 3: Bowl was it last year of the year before he
- 31:06Speaker 3: made a play and I don't even you know, he
- 31:08Speaker 3: made a play, a huge play in the Super Bowl,
- 31:11Speaker 3: and I don't even know if he's playing. I don't
- 31:12Speaker 3: think he's on that team. And then you draft defense.
- 31:17Speaker 3: You got Chris Jones obviously defensive lineman, and he didn't
- 31:21Speaker 3: know they re signed him. They resigned him. But then
- 31:24Speaker 3: you know, you got to look what your your draft
- 31:27Speaker 3: is doing. And they're good in the draft, and you know,
- 31:30Speaker 3: because they don't have a lot of big name people
- 31:33Speaker 3: on that team.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I mean, now you've got Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but Hollywood Brown didn't do ship all year.
- 31:42Speaker 2: To be something.
- 31:42Speaker 3: But he did do well in Hollywood. Well so did
- 31:47Speaker 3: xavier' Worthy. But yes, but draft pick, that's what I'm saying.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Those people are all drafted. You look at big great
- 31:57Speaker 3: play at the end of that to seal the deal.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I mean, he was part of that. But you look
- 32:01Speaker 3: at what they have as far as big free agents,
- 32:04Speaker 3: you ain't got them. You just ain't got They don't
- 32:08Speaker 3: come there. You know they're not attracting those big guys.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you gotta. You gotta remember Juju Suster Smith
- 32:14Speaker 2: has been in battled.
- 32:16Speaker 3: But that's how you pay them.
- 32:17Speaker 2: DeAndre Hopkins. You have so much money to go around,
- 32:19Speaker 2: but remember he was in battled.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Look at the Cowboys raft. The Poe Cap hit this year.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So Juju nobody wanted Juju at one point. He's not
- 32:30Speaker 2: any good, That's what I'm saying. But he did well
- 32:32Speaker 2: in this game.
- 32:33Speaker 3: He's not good.
- 32:34Speaker 2: DeAndre Hopkins. Uh, you know, his age is what everybody says.
- 32:38Speaker 2: And he ended up being traded over from the.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Time two catches for sixty yards, which is good.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Two for six. I'm saying he did well. In this game,
- 32:48Speaker 2: Hollywood Brown, I forget how that he was. Was he
- 32:52Speaker 2: a free agent signing? Yes? Okay, uh you fall into
- 32:57Speaker 2: Pachaco Samanja. You get on free agency, and do you
- 33:02Speaker 2: remember this? You know, somanj hasn't really been that electric
- 33:06Speaker 2: since he was with Mixing at Cincinnati when they were
- 33:13Speaker 2: running as a tandem there like they did at Oklahoma.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And you have to bring back Kareem Hunt, who's been
- 33:19Speaker 2: doing very well since he's been brought back, and he's embattled.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I just you know, you got all these guys that, no,
- 33:28Speaker 2: you don't have huge names that are on the offensive
- 33:32Speaker 2: line except for Creed. You don't.
- 33:35Speaker 3: He's a draft. He's a draft.
- 33:36Speaker 2: I know, but that's what I'm saying. And even on
- 33:39Speaker 2: your defense, do you see a name on here that
- 33:41Speaker 2: really any anybody after Chris Jones that really stands out.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Even in the secondary, you know, and Creed just re
- 33:52Speaker 3: signed for them four years, seventy two million.
- 33:56Speaker 2: This has shown you what Spagnola is doing with these
- 33:59Speaker 2: guys who.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Well, that's what I talked about coaching earlier. The coaching
- 34:03Speaker 3: mismatch was ridiculous. I mean, you got Andy Reid on
- 34:05Speaker 3: the offense, you got Steve spag knowing on the defense.
- 34:08Speaker 3: I don't know what he's making. He seems to be
- 34:09Speaker 3: happy he did do an interview. I think for one
- 34:11Speaker 3: head coaching job, he's probably not going to get another
- 34:13Speaker 3: head coaching job. And unfortunately it's probably because his age.
- 34:18Speaker 2: He already said he doesn't.
- 34:19Speaker 3: But he's a badass. I mean that guy.
- 34:21Speaker 2: He doesn't want it. He's had it and he doesn't
- 34:23Speaker 2: want it. I think he's happy doing what he's doing.
- 34:26Speaker 2: He has three super Bowl ring now too.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Well three because this will be third if they win it,
- 34:30Speaker 3: and they won one before they're in the row.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I know. But but was coaching, Okay, Andy Reid went
- 34:38Speaker 2: to you know, he never could make it out of
- 34:41Speaker 2: the super Bowl until he came to Kansas City.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Well but unfair made it to the super Bowl.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Just what I'm saying. He did, he but he didn't
- 34:50Speaker 2: do it until he came to Kansas City.
- 34:52Speaker 3: He's been the chiefs coordinator since twenty nineteen.
- 34:55Speaker 2: And you know, Matt Naggy. What does Matt Naggy have
- 34:57Speaker 2: like three four super Bowl rings?
- 34:58Speaker 3: Now he's a four time super Bowl champion. He must
- 35:00Speaker 3: have won one somewhere else. Ah, probably with the Ravens
- 35:06Speaker 3: have spoken.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, didn't he win? Didn't he win early?
- 35:11Speaker 3: Or maybe it might have been with the Giants, Yes,
- 35:14Speaker 3: it had been with the Giants.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Was he under last year Gruno Groano? What buck was
- 35:20Speaker 2: that coach's name? Oh? Was he was a coach of.
- 35:27Speaker 3: What do you He only coached a Saint Louis one
- 35:29Speaker 3: of fifteen, seven, nine and fourteen.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't like it. But go back up to
- 35:36Speaker 2: his back up to his New York days. Was he
- 35:40Speaker 2: under Tom Coughlin? Yes, yeah, that would have been where
- 35:43Speaker 2: he won that Super Bowl League. So anyways, it turns
- 35:46Speaker 2: out it comes down to who has the ball last,
- 35:48Speaker 2: and Buffalo does not stop Kansas City at all on
- 35:54Speaker 2: those last.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Well, that's what everyone's talking about, you know, whether it
- 35:59Speaker 3: be that call. You know, I thought the Xavier Worthy
- 36:01Speaker 3: catch was probably not a catch, to be honest, look
- 36:03Speaker 3: like anpossible interception. But Buffalo, you're scoring, you're up twenty,
- 36:09Speaker 3: you're up twenty two.
- 36:10Speaker 2: To let my homes throw a ten yard pass to Pacheco. No,
- 36:16Speaker 2: you're Pacheco gets one yard after that, and then you're
- 36:22Speaker 2: holding them. You're holding them, and then p run goes
- 36:26Speaker 2: for seventeen yards I.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Mean that was a play right there, third nine, and
- 36:28Speaker 3: that's what that's what broke their back, oh for sure. Well,
- 36:31Speaker 3: and there wasn't much time left either. They ran up
- 36:33Speaker 3: the clock after.
- 36:34Speaker 2: That, but they were trying to at least get it. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 2: they would have got the ball back overtime at least
- 36:38Speaker 2: try a kick.
- 36:39Speaker 3: But they really need to focus on their defense too, especially.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I know Hamlin had a good game, but I think.
- 36:46Speaker 2: They're you're gonna also say a dynamic wide receiver possibly.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah, because more line work is Marik Cooper's probably gone.
- 36:56Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 36:56Speaker 3: I thought the nine played better this year.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Better because of those fourth downs they could not get that.
- 37:05Speaker 2: If if they're if they're gonna be a good team
- 37:07Speaker 2: and they're gonna be trying to run on those one
- 37:09Speaker 2: yard third and one, you should be able to get
- 37:12Speaker 2: that one yard you saw call that's where my homes
- 37:16Speaker 2: you saw, but you saw Kansas City do it repeated.
- 37:18Speaker 3: That's really where my home shows up in the coaching.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I mean, it's just it's it's night and day. It's
- 37:23Speaker 3: just it's it's almost sad because even as an Eagles fan,
- 37:30Speaker 3: you kind of envision what you saw Super Bowl two
- 37:33Speaker 3: years ago the repeat. You know, I think the Eagles
- 37:37Speaker 3: at one point were up by at least ten in
- 37:39Speaker 3: that game, and then they just kind of kept coming
- 37:42Speaker 3: back and then you see him at the end. Sorry,
- 37:45Speaker 3: you're going to do a little talk on the Super
- 37:47Speaker 3: Bowl preview. I just want to wait in preview it
- 37:49Speaker 3: all next week.
- 37:51Speaker 2: We can, we can.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I just want to touch on it just a couple
- 37:54Speaker 3: of things.
- 37:55Speaker 2: It's it's gonna be uh.
- 37:57Speaker 3: I think we're down.
- 37:58Speaker 2: In New Orleans.
- 37:59Speaker 3: I think the couple things that really most before this
- 38:03Speaker 3: is what stands out to me. I think you have
- 38:07Speaker 3: a huge, huge coaching and quarterback mismatch in this game.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Which which way are you fucking kidding me? You have
- 38:17Speaker 3: to ask Mahomes and Reid is a huge advantage over
- 38:22Speaker 3: what you got. But I think you flip it a
- 38:25Speaker 3: little bit. And I think the Eagles are better at
- 38:29Speaker 3: D line. I think they're better at O line, and
- 38:32Speaker 3: they're way better at running back.
- 38:34Speaker 2: And they have a better secondary.
- 38:38Speaker 3: So how interesting this becomes. I have a bold prediction
- 38:44Speaker 3: on this game, and I know who's gonna win it.
- 38:46Speaker 2: I want to say mine thirty one fifteen Eagles.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Okay, and uh and and so you're gonna go early
- 38:55Speaker 3: on that.
- 38:55Speaker 2: I'm going early. It's been in my head. I gotta
- 38:57Speaker 2: get it out. Thirty one fifteen Eagles.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I'm not I'm picking Eagles too, and I'm a little
- 39:06Speaker 3: closer and I'm a little more high scoring.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Uh and the other idiots are picking the Eagles too.
- 39:11Speaker 3: But now it comes to points. I just know it
- 39:13Speaker 3: comes to points. Closest points, final wins. So the only
- 39:18Speaker 3: way it's it's split as if it's a tie and
- 39:21Speaker 3: both have to agree to split the money. If one
- 39:26Speaker 3: chooses to flip a coin, that's the way it goes.
- 39:29Speaker 3: If both agreed to split the money, or if greed
- 39:32Speaker 3: plays total points, total points for both teams in the
- 39:35Speaker 3: Super Bowl, and it's not an over and under, it's
- 39:37Speaker 3: just closest you can go over, you can go under.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Doesn't matches, gosh. I you know, I'm really a little
- 39:45Speaker 3: more excited about this matchup than I was two years ago.
- 39:48Speaker 3: I just I was really bored with that. Well, I mean,
- 39:52Speaker 3: it's it's and I'm picking the Eagles, and you know,
- 39:55Speaker 3: it's it's it's tough for me to say that Jalen
- 39:57Speaker 3: Hurts is going to be a Super Bowl winning quarterback.
- 40:00Speaker 2: You hated Sirianni.
- 40:01Speaker 3: But what I'm gonna say is he talk ship on
- 40:03Speaker 3: them all the time.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 40:05Speaker 3: What what I'm gonna say is, uh, I mean, you
- 40:08Speaker 3: got the best O line, you got the best D line,
- 40:10Speaker 3: you got the best running back, you got.
- 40:13Speaker 2: The best linebackers, and you've got the best secondary.
- 40:16Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, so it's it's it's huge.
- 40:18Speaker 2: My receivers toss up. It's it's a weird.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Well, no, they're the best Phillies. Yeah, it's just they
- 40:25Speaker 3: never get the ball thrown to him because their quarterbacks.
- 40:28Speaker 3: I mean, he just doesn't throw. All right, what do
- 40:33Speaker 3: we got?
- 40:34Speaker 2: You wanted to look at salary kep?
- 40:35Speaker 3: Well, no, no, no, we'll preview super Bowl way way later.
- 40:41Speaker 3: But let's talk about.
- 40:42Speaker 2: It's on the line. Didn't it doing a party? Maybe
- 40:48Speaker 2: you wanted to talk We're gonna do coaching.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do coaching. Let's talk about that.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Let's I thought you want to do salary cap.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Well, I do because it's part of the coaching talk,
- 40:56Speaker 3: and I don't want to get into that little bit.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I could do free agents too, Let's see.
- 41:00Speaker 3: No, I don't give a shit about that.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Well, the free agent's factor into coaching as well, and
- 41:07Speaker 2: the money.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Really Okay, that is that guy loose and he's free agent?
- 41:18Speaker 2: Sorry, we just I just pulled up who's coming up
- 41:20Speaker 2: on the free agents and Stefan Diggs was number one.
- 41:23Speaker 2: And there's a guy that you can just cut loose
- 41:25Speaker 2: and let him go to whatever team wants. And I agree,
- 41:32Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sorry, but just let him go. Keenan Allen,
- 41:36Speaker 2: you do need to keep him in Chicago. I don't
- 41:38Speaker 2: know if he can, but you do need to. T
- 41:41Speaker 2: Higgins definitely needs to stay in Cincy.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they've got to get somebody.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Godwin definitely needs to stay in Tampa.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 3: That's gonna be an injury thing, is what they're going
- 41:51Speaker 3: to be looking at right there.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah, very very interesting.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Khalil Mack says he's coming back next year. Uh, Betty
- 42:01Speaker 3: comes back to the Chargers on a team friendly deal.
- 42:05Speaker 3: He goes a two year bigger signing to deal.
- 42:08Speaker 2: We do have Mary Cooper in this, uh in this,
- 42:10Speaker 2: but eh, I mean, is he worth it? Is he
- 42:14Speaker 2: a Stefan Diggs? Does it matter?
- 42:18Speaker 3: You know? Allegedly, allegedly we've seen Stefan be a little
- 42:24Speaker 3: more dramatic kind of a bit, So I would probably go, Yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 3: he's not a he's not an issue. He'll be somewhere
- 42:33Speaker 3: and Bill's needs some help. I mean I don't.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Well, so you saw with Deontay Johnson. So you saw
- 42:38Speaker 2: that he got cut by Houston, right, Yeah, and he
- 42:41Speaker 2: got picked up by Baltimore, but he couldn't play. And
- 42:46Speaker 2: so what that ended up becoming was a compensatory pick
- 42:49Speaker 2: for Houston.
- 42:50Speaker 3: No, oh, for Baltimore. Good for them. Maybe that's why
- 42:54Speaker 3: they don't.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Apparently Baltimore leads and compensatory picks.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Gotcha. Oh, they're good draftings or they're a good drafting team.
- 43:01Speaker 3: This is Zach Martin right here.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Now, this really needs to keep Zach.
- 43:05Speaker 3: He's old, he's thirty four. I wouldn't.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I just got him, get him on an offensive line
- 43:10Speaker 2: and get him with a decent backup that he can train. Uh.
- 43:14Speaker 2: You got Cam Robinson coming up in Minnesota. That's gonna
- 43:20Speaker 2: be a huge, huge deal because they need him for
- 43:23Speaker 2: that loan.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Can you not see between the bottles? No, I got it.
- 43:26Speaker 3: You know Minnesota is one of those teams that what
- 43:29Speaker 3: do they do at quarterback? As you're talking about free agents,
- 43:32Speaker 3: we can lead into that. I mean, you've got we're
- 43:35Speaker 3: what do you what's Pittsburgh gonna do with their two quarterbacks?
- 43:38Speaker 3: What's Tennessee? What's Tennessee do with their number one pick?
- 43:41Speaker 3: Do they go balls the wall and get someone like
- 43:44Speaker 3: cam Warder, Shader, Sanders, Jackson darts moving at the list?
- 43:48Speaker 3: Apparently Jackson is moving up.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't think that Shador or cam is h is
- 43:53Speaker 2: your but I think they they do, but they're not
- 43:57Speaker 2: your end all. Cleveland's gonna grew up again. We already
- 44:01Speaker 2: know that Clevelandland.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Are they even up there that high?
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:06Speaker 3: Yeah, they're draft I don't even pay attention to them.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I mean, who are they?
- 44:10Speaker 2: Their draft is thought.
- 44:12Speaker 3: They were a little lower than they should. Well, I
- 44:14Speaker 3: guess they are probably pretty high, aren't they? But I
- 44:17Speaker 3: know Tennessee is uh number one? Las Vegas, let's talk
- 44:23Speaker 3: about Las Vegas a little bit. So Las Vegas. As
- 44:26Speaker 3: you're looking at the draft order, haired peak Carrol, I
- 44:30Speaker 3: thought that was the best coaching pickup of the cycle.
- 44:33Speaker 3: To be honest, the reason I say that is because
- 44:36Speaker 3: it's the best coaching higher for the best coaching team,
- 44:39Speaker 3: for the team that they hired. He's a perfect fit
- 44:43Speaker 3: for that you look at his you know we were talking.
- 44:46Speaker 3: I mean, I'm the Pete Carroll that I was looking
- 44:51Speaker 3: at his yard. I'm sorry his wins it. There we go.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Pete his last three years, that his last four years
- 45:01Speaker 3: at Seattle was twelve and four, seven and ten, nine
- 45:03Speaker 3: and eight, nine and eight, and they got rid of him.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Now there was there was some argument going on, no doubt,
- 45:10Speaker 3: but you lost the legion of Boom. You lost everybody
- 45:12Speaker 3: that they had built.
- 45:13Speaker 2: You never rebuilt in the Boom. You never rebuilt that all.
- 45:16Speaker 3: You couldn't. No, and you couldn't. I mean, they just
- 45:18Speaker 3: they got You.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Never got a beast. No back was that was the one.
- 45:21Speaker 3: But I meant to. But I mean from twelve to sixteen,
- 45:24Speaker 3: eleven and five, thirteen and three, twelve and four, ten
- 45:26Speaker 3: and six, ten and five, first in the NFC West
- 45:29Speaker 3: first second, first, now he's second second. Second. Well that's
- 45:32Speaker 3: coinciding at that time with the Rams getting big better, yes,
- 45:39Speaker 3: and they had won that Super Bowl in that period
- 45:41Speaker 3: and then Shanahan and then they got better. So to
- 45:44Speaker 3: say nine and eight was bad, I mean, I mean,
- 45:48Speaker 3: you probably had some pretty good teams and you had it.
- 45:51Speaker 3: He was doing that with Russell Wilson. Which brings the
- 45:54Speaker 3: mind is Russell Wilson mosey on across from one coast
- 45:57Speaker 3: to the next.
- 45:58Speaker 2: This Pittsburgh, it's not a coast, he's just it's Vegas.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Does Pittsburgh stay, Does Pittsburgh stay with Justin Fields?
- 46:10Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't.
- 46:11Speaker 3: They're not keeping both.
- 46:12Speaker 2: So Cleveland Brown's number two.
- 46:14Speaker 3: They do have the number two pick. Well, they'll do that,
- 46:16Speaker 3: and it.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Says they need an edge first because they have no
- 46:20Speaker 2: quarterback coming in they I mean, it's New York, it's quarterback.
- 46:25Speaker 2: So you look at the top Tennessee quarterback, Cleveland quarterback,
- 46:30Speaker 2: New York quarterback. Fits you don't need a quarterback Jacksonville.
- 46:36Speaker 2: I think we would agree that they probably need a quarterback.
- 46:39Speaker 3: They won't.
- 46:40Speaker 2: It says it's right there right at the end. Las
- 46:45Speaker 2: Vegas quarterback, the Jets quarterback. Carolina.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I thought one of the more one of the more
- 46:54Speaker 3: improved teams. Carolina. I thought their improvement. Yeah, it was
- 46:58Speaker 3: pretty good, win a lot of.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Games, But right do they don't they We had them
- 47:03Speaker 2: at the under.
- 47:04Speaker 3: And it was five and we were five and a half.
- 47:06Speaker 2: So we got that one.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Yes, missed a few others.
- 47:10Speaker 2: You know New Orleans don't need a wide receiver, don't
- 47:14Speaker 2: need a quarterback.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Telling more, it is going to be the coach. You
- 47:18Speaker 3: guys picked ten again? Did you pick ten last year?
- 47:21Speaker 3: Was it nine? Where'd you get? Where did you get?
- 47:24Speaker 3: What's his face at? Say nine or ten? Yeah?
- 47:31Speaker 2: We picked one and nine?
- 47:33Speaker 3: Uh, bears, if you're smart, trade down, get you every
- 47:39Speaker 3: line help you can, and get a bunch of picks
- 47:40Speaker 3: and just keep That's what I'm saying. No, No, you
- 47:46Speaker 3: could get him to.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Grab that Scataboo.
- 47:48Speaker 3: That Scattaboo's gonna drop And I think, who am I missing?
- 47:53Speaker 3: What's the guy that plays at Gordon? I like all Gordon.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I think he's going to be a really good.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's gonna he's gonna They'll be in a
- 48:00Speaker 2: late late third steel something like that.
- 48:03Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. That's the people you watch for
- 48:06Speaker 3: to get them in there. Scataboo probably makes it. I
- 48:09Speaker 3: would think the first round late.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I don't Thinkabo is till the Secondatboys better.
- 48:17Speaker 3: At all it all becomes you know, it all becomes rigorous.
- 48:20Speaker 3: But no, that's what I was saying, Pete Carroll. I
- 48:22Speaker 3: thought the best coaching higher if you want to, let's
- 48:26Speaker 3: look at those right there, Sean that grade. Look at
- 48:28Speaker 3: the grades right there, See how they graded everybody. I
- 48:31Speaker 3: think Ben Johnson was a nobody a couple of years ago,
- 48:34Speaker 3: and now everybody thinks he's some wonder child. Now Splender
- 48:38Speaker 3: can guess. I'm not so sold on it yet. I
- 48:41Speaker 3: think with that offense that they had, I'm sorry, the
- 48:44Speaker 3: offensive plate, let me spit that out. The offensive players
- 48:48Speaker 3: they had at Detroit.
- 48:49Speaker 2: We don't know how to talk to you, is.
- 48:50Speaker 3: They could have done a lot. And I thought Ben
- 48:54Speaker 3: Johnson's played calling in the Detroit loss against Washington was horrific.
- 48:58Speaker 3: It's like when it in the big time.
- 49:00Speaker 2: And you've got to give that over a golf too,
- 49:02Speaker 2: because golf had four turnovers. He did? He did? He
- 49:06Speaker 2: was a turnover machine did.
- 49:08Speaker 3: He showed up like we all thought he would.
- 49:11Speaker 2: And then Pete Carroll's a B plus which I don't know.
- 49:15Speaker 3: And and that guy from CBS Sports who wrote the
- 49:18Speaker 3: article on that, let's give him brand. Okay, so Will
- 49:24Speaker 3: Brinston from CBS Sports, good for you. He said he
- 49:26Speaker 3: posted that he's on the island. Well, we're joining you.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I think the Pete Carroll was was definitely by far
- 49:31Speaker 3: the best. Everybody thinks he's old, and he is old,
- 49:36Speaker 3: but he's a young seventy three seventy four again, and
- 49:40Speaker 3: I think that that's exactly what the Raiders need. They
- 49:42Speaker 3: need someone that is got some history. I mean, look
- 49:47Speaker 3: at the coaches they had hired, you know, the Josh McDaniels,
- 49:51Speaker 3: the what was the last coach, Antonio Pierce, Nobody's and
- 49:55Speaker 3: even who was the other coach that they had fired
- 49:58Speaker 3: or maybe was Josh, But I'm just there was a
- 50:01Speaker 3: coach he missed somebody in there.
- 50:02Speaker 2: There was a coach that was before I.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Mean Dennis Allen was before he was an interim coach.
- 50:07Speaker 2: And it wasn't Dennis Allen.
- 50:08Speaker 3: They should have hired that guy that they let go.
- 50:12Speaker 2: It was a guy who got hired before uh Pierce
- 50:16Speaker 2: took over or not that it was the guy before
- 50:20Speaker 2: Peers that was before him, the interim coach that was
- 50:22Speaker 2: before him.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Well, I mean you look at uh, yes, to see
- 50:28Speaker 3: it was Josh McDaniel's trash.
- 50:30Speaker 2: No, but I'm talking about whoever took over for Daniels,
- 50:33Speaker 2: who ever took over for McDaniels.
- 50:35Speaker 3: The interim guy. Yeah, yes, they fired.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Everybody really wanted him to stay.
- 50:41Speaker 3: No, I think that was the guy that took over
- 50:43Speaker 3: for Gruden.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Yes, I don't remember. Just look at their coaching history
- 50:48Speaker 2: and it'll pull up.
- 50:49Speaker 3: I did that.
- 50:50Speaker 2: But anyway, anyways, A B plus for Pete Carrolyn. I
- 50:54Speaker 2: think that's more of an A minus, probably a just
- 50:57Speaker 2: regularly A. I mean, we'll see about because he brings
- 51:02Speaker 2: he brings in a lot of knowledge, he brings in
- 51:06Speaker 2: a lot of his got.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Then you got Vrabel going to the Patriots. I thought
- 51:11Speaker 3: that was an a hire too. I mean, the guy
- 51:13Speaker 3: that's a culture.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Shared Mayo really do that bad to get.
- 51:17Speaker 3: No, I think it was just one season. I think
- 51:19Speaker 3: Rabel was available. I think Rabel was available and Craft goes.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Can we do this even though it was possible blast
- 51:27Speaker 2: coaches as placeholders?
- 51:29Speaker 3: But it was possible to do it before. Why didn't
- 51:31Speaker 3: they do it last year? Well, Lovey Smith took a
- 51:34Speaker 3: year off.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Lovey Smith when he took that Texans job that he
- 51:37Speaker 2: was just gonna be for a year. I think everybody
- 51:40Speaker 2: actually told him was weird. Just come in, we just
- 51:42Speaker 2: need you to be here. We're gonna be looking. If
- 51:45Speaker 2: you do great, We're gonna hire you if not, just
- 51:50Speaker 2: just tall you just hang out, just do something. Oh
- 51:55Speaker 2: all right, and now we go down to.
- 51:59Speaker 3: It. He's a Jets guy, been there before, played there.
- 52:03Speaker 3: He was obviously going to get a job. He needs
- 52:05Speaker 3: to have the opportunity to do it.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Somebody said something about.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Get rid of Rogers, kick the out and tell the owners.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Somebody who's his offensive coordinator? I don't know who hired
- 52:18Speaker 2: because somebody said something about the Aaron Rodgers isn't gonna
- 52:22Speaker 2: like his offensive coordinator.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Oh well, Aaron Rodgers ain't gonna like anybody that comes in.
- 52:29Speaker 2: To be honest, just had more flavored to Aaron Glenn's
- 52:34Speaker 2: staff with Tanner.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Extrant. Yeah see it was he a he he came
- 52:46Speaker 3: with the Now where's he from?
- 52:47Speaker 2: Is he the became with Detroit?
- 52:49Speaker 3: Okay, okay, he's forty two.
- 52:52Speaker 2: He was hired Friday, Uh, familiar.
- 52:55Speaker 3: With passing game coordinator? And then you brought over not Antoine.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Ran in Chicago.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Oh, he went to Chicago.
- 53:04Speaker 2: In Chicago, remember, because we just talked about all that
- 53:08Speaker 2: and we hired uh, they hired Chris Banjo for their
- 53:13Speaker 2: special teams. I remember that from the Broncos. We hired
- 53:18Speaker 2: the Broncos. Uh Titans coach? Well, is that what it was?
- 53:23Speaker 2: As our offensive coordinator Stanstead, you know, figurehead, I guess
- 53:28Speaker 2: is what you would call it. Uh. Estergan is a
- 53:32Speaker 2: Jim Harball disciple, so he was with Harball.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Hey, I have no problem. Let young people get a
- 53:38Speaker 3: chance to do it that Michigan.
- 53:42Speaker 2: So it looks like it did.
- 53:44Speaker 3: The DC defenders an interesting nose.
- 53:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I read a report that Wilson was looking at maybe
- 53:50Speaker 3: wanting a trade, Garrett Wilson. And then you've got DeVante Adams?
- 53:52Speaker 3: Does he stay? What happens to.
- 53:56Speaker 2: We're telling you, said Garrett Wilson. I think of the.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Commun mine Meena Chimes, who I really like. Uh listen, yeah,
- 54:03Speaker 3: she's really good. She suggested that Aaron Rodgers go to
- 54:08Speaker 3: the Titans, which I'm probably working out better for him.
- 54:12Speaker 3: I'm suggesting that Sam Donald, you go to the Titans,
- 54:18Speaker 3: that's where you need to be if they're not going
- 54:20Speaker 3: to re sign you.
- 54:21Speaker 2: That works up for him.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Well, I like Brian Kellians. Pretty we don't who goes
- 54:25Speaker 3: to the who goes to the Jets exactly? And it
- 54:29Speaker 3: ain't gonna be Sam Donald.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Now we've got Liam Cohen, Which is your O C H.
- 54:34Speaker 2: I don't know, is it is? It? Is it? Uh?
- 54:40Speaker 2: Is it Baker making the Ocs look good? Is that good?
- 54:44Speaker 3: He's got head coach? And uh so Dave Canalis.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Was that he's not Panthers Liam Cones go to Jacksonville. Uh.
- 54:52Speaker 2: They're all staying in the same general South Southern area. Uh.
- 54:56Speaker 2: And you guys hired the Buccaneers hired Gizzard.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Gizzard quarterback pass game coordinator.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Yeah, hired was in the house. So Brian Schottenheimer the
- 55:05Speaker 2: biggest Uh, we say, surprise head coach.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Not a surprise for Jai.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I think it was a surprise for not for Suary.
- 55:14Speaker 2: There was a lot that said, who the hell is shot?
- 55:16Speaker 3: Who we all know Brian?
- 55:18Speaker 2: No, we don't. A lot of people forgot that he
- 55:21Speaker 2: was even on the team.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Well yeah, then that Brian Schottenheimer cut his teeth, he
- 55:27Speaker 3: cut his dad? Well, no, he was offensive coordinator for
- 55:30Speaker 3: the Seahawks. That's where I remember.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Didn't he work with his dad or it was at
- 55:33Speaker 2: his brother? Was there another shot?
- 55:36Speaker 3: I just remember him. I remember Hehawks with his dad.
- 55:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 55:41Speaker 3: The Seahawks went on to had the league's top rushing
- 55:43Speaker 3: offense in twenty eighteen, and Russell Wilson had a career
- 55:46Speaker 3: year in nineteen Wilson threw over four thousand yards thirty
- 55:50Speaker 3: two touchdowns and was the Pro Bowl starter. And then
- 55:54Speaker 3: in twenty twenty they set a record for they set
- 55:57Speaker 3: a franchise record for most points scored was yes, and
- 56:02Speaker 3: then took the bread in Seattle's offense struggled, was fired
- 56:07Speaker 3: after the wild Card lost to the Rams. Well, I mean,
- 56:10Speaker 3: come on, I mean, you got you lost to the
- 56:13Speaker 3: Rams in twenty twenty. I believe the Rams won that
- 56:15Speaker 3: Super Bowl that year, didn't they? So passing game coordinator
- 56:21Speaker 3: under Urban Meyer. Obviously that was a fucking hoot. Excuse me,
- 56:28Speaker 3: and then went to Dallas. So yeah, career, I mean
- 56:36Speaker 3: qurnerbacks coach with the Colts during luck, even though luck
- 56:42Speaker 3: the second year Jacoby Brissett had to play.
- 56:45Speaker 2: So yeah, but I could have I could have swore
- 56:50Speaker 2: that he did some coaching with his dad at least
- 56:53Speaker 2: in was it the Chargers that he was quarterbacks coach
- 57:03Speaker 2: with his dad.
- 57:04Speaker 3: I didn't realize he was the Mark Rick's last offensive
- 57:07Speaker 3: coordinator with Georgia. Really, yes, yes, yes, yeah, that was
- 57:13Speaker 3: a long time starter at quarterback was Virginia transfer Jason
- 57:17Speaker 3: Grayson Lambert and Nick Chubb got hurt in the sixth
- 57:20Speaker 3: game against Tennessee offense average Tad coach.
- 57:28Speaker 2: The Redskins one year.
- 57:31Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 57:32Speaker 2: You're gonna make me look it up, because I swear
- 57:34Speaker 2: to God that he coached with his dad right here.
- 57:37Speaker 2: That's possible at Washington and San Diego, that's possible, yes,
- 57:42Speaker 2: and possibly when his dad was the Chiefs in ninety eight.
- 57:46Speaker 3: His middle name is Cornelius.
- 57:49Speaker 2: I don't care. I really could your middle names Edward much.
- 57:58Speaker 3: King lear than Cornelius?
- 58:00Speaker 2: Is it? I think Cordnelius is way? God all right?
- 58:06Speaker 3: Anything else on the You know, I'm not the coach.
- 58:09Speaker 3: I'm not ready to I'm not ready to make that
- 58:12Speaker 3: a d. Yet. They did hire Arizona's offensive flying coaches
- 58:16Speaker 3: O s and the Arizona's been doing well hires a
- 58:19Speaker 3: defensive coordinator Everflos.
- 58:23Speaker 2: That's right, Yes, How do you forget that?
- 58:26Speaker 3: That's right?
- 58:28Speaker 2: How does one forget that? Well?
- 58:34Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 58:36Speaker 2: So I know Kenny wanted to say something about and
- 58:41Speaker 2: what do you what do you have left?
- 58:43Speaker 3: Uh? Oh nothing? Really, we can close it up. The
- 58:47Speaker 3: one thing. I mean, we'll preview the super Bowl next week.
- 58:50Speaker 3: I just wanted to give a little shout out to
- 58:53Speaker 3: the Okay, see Thunder still first place in the West,
- 58:57Speaker 3: thirty seven and nine record. Do they lose tonight? Oh
- 59:00Speaker 3: that was the That was the loss to the fricking Warriors. Gag.
- 59:08Speaker 2: You see, there's a lot of talk about getting stuff
- 59:10Speaker 2: carry out.
- 59:12Speaker 3: But they're running out of time. So I don't think that.
- 59:15Speaker 3: I think that.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Running out of time from Oh Zion Williams.
- 59:18Speaker 3: News, he's hit that they're running out of time for
- 59:21Speaker 3: still fat.
- 59:22Speaker 2: I don't know if he's still fat, but he could
- 59:24Speaker 2: only play every other game. That sent you that earlier.
- 59:29Speaker 2: We like doing Zion Williams update because you know he
- 59:34Speaker 2: he had been injured with a a hamstring throughout the
- 59:39Speaker 2: season and now that his his his workload is. There's
- 59:44Speaker 2: a guy that got to get rid of. There's a
- 59:47Speaker 2: guy that's paid to.
- 59:48Speaker 3: It's kind of one of those fears that you send
- 59:50Speaker 3: him somewhere else, he's gonna kill you. It's kind of
- 59:52Speaker 3: like fire. He's gonna go somewhere else in ben Oc
- 59:55Speaker 3: and just kill our DC and just kill you.
- 59:57Speaker 2: There's there is talk about getting Jimmy Bucket. It's in
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: New Orleans.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: Now, Yeah, but I don't think. I don't think you
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: could go to the NBA trade until by the way,
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: and see at the bottom of that. I don't think
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: the money's there he's making all the No, I don't think.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: I don't think there's enough money to move him with.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Oh you want people to pick up his contract.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: They have to.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: No, the NBA is very hard. You have to match
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: dollar for dollar practically or give picks or something. But
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: that's how that is. And it's just not gonna work
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: out that way.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: So this was a trade, wouldn't it. When are we
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: looking at a trade?
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: No, this is the potential. Dearon Fox is really wanting
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: out of the Kings, and.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the Spurs.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: The Spurs are just really it. They're not willing to
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: give up one of their key players at Christians or
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: what is his name, Castleman I think or whatever. So
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: I can't remember his name.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that Fox. I did read the Fox
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: once out of Sacramento. Uh, but uh, does you want
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: to go to San Antonio?
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: That's been mentioned? Yes, and that would bump them up
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: right now San Antonio.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Two teams lining up to form a wom buy on
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: a block. Are they trying to get wim Byana out
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: of all three future sam out of out of San Antonio?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Well no, no, no, no. So what they're what they're saying
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: is is or get with Yeah, we all know how
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: they can strengthen themselves or block the other ones from
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: getting for the other team getting better, is what I'm saying.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Uh, I don't understand any of this.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Well, I mean, what it is is what they're talking
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: talking about is the thunder haves.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: As a core.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: That Yeah, we're young, obviously, and we have so much
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: draft Yeah. I mean, did you see the one trade
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: they did last week? Utah traded three first rounds to
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Phoenix for just one unprotected way down the road.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: That was that.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: I still didn't understand it, but I mean I looked
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: at it and I understand it. You know. It's because
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: they had acquired all these other picks, so they're giving
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: the worst of the worst and the worst of the worst.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: So I don't know. I mean, and you look at
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Memphis in on this, they're good, They're good. They have
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: came back. Yes, I mean they're the third seed right now.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Thunders one and the Rockets and and the Rockets have
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: been a big surprise to me. And of course we
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: knew the youth there was going to be.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Cheat of that.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: And and they've got the foreign guy. Can't remember his name,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: that's so good the Houston does. And but yeah, they're
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: first in the South. And and it's just I mean,
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: if you go the roster, I can tell you.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know who this kid is. There's a
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: lot of weird kids that are Is it Nephalia Dante
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: that sounds.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: Forun it's yes, it's their center. Yes, he's the one
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: that's really good. And I believe he made the All
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Star Game this year.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I have no idea. Yeah, I don't care. I don't
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: care about All Stars, Pro Bowls.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Oh, I think basketball is great. I don't like the game.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: I don't like the game.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Did you see that the NFL had a dodgeball game?
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I missed it.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: I missed everything because I don't care about the Pro
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Bowl all right? Anything else? Uh No, we just uh oh,
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: you is taking a name the five.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: No, Nate really hired from Arkansas State stefensive coordinator as
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: hard as the linebackers coach. Oh the football, Sorry it
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: looked like they were going to he wasn't named defensive coordinator.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Looks like Brent's gonna call we're gonna be the DC
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: unless they're gonna well, unless they're gonna him, well, unless
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: they're gonna give someone else on that staff that title
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: to give them a raise. Brandon Hall makes the most
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: sense to me. Coch he came from Troy. I like him.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: He recruits really well too, and he's a very underrated
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: coach that no one really talks about. But that's who
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: I would probably put as the official d C. Brent's
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: probably still gonna play the calls. I don't like that.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: I think Britt needs a focus. I mean, this is
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: his make or break year.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Break.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: They've got to win at least eight.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Oh no, they've got to now.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Seven to eight will be fine. The schedule, Sean, is
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: unbelievably hard.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: We have the number one hardest schedule.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I do eight will be fine because I think we
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: could win ten next year. The schedule should ease up
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: on us a little bit. And that's what you got.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I just know that I left whenever. Carson Back is
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: gonna begin his Miami career the same way that he
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: finished his Georgia career lost a Notre Dame. All right,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: so we will see you next week, hopefully earlier.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Yes, and we'll be talking. We'll definitely give a hard
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: preview of the super Bowl. We'll talk about the basketball.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Any coaching changes, not gonna have much. So we'll see
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: you next Thursday or Friday.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: We're gonna are we gonna have people in the house.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna be.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: No, no, no, not before that. So alright, see you
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: next week. Bye bye.
