Transcript
- 0:00Hello everyone and welcome to the random Heathen ramblings
- 0:03podcast, where we discuss all sorts of things Germanic,
- 0:06Heathen re related. My name is Jessie.
- 0:09I am your host. Let's get into it.
- 0:32Hail, hail and welcome. Welcome back everybody.
- 0:36To the random Heathen ramblings podcast, brought to you by me
- 0:41through Spotify, through Apple podcast, Google podcasts,
- 0:47wherever you're listening from wherever you're watching from.
- 0:51Thank you, thank you for joining.
- 0:53Not just me today. Thank you for joining us going
- 0:56to be bringing in a friend of mine who has been on this
- 1:00podcast, a couple of times and our friendship started.
- 1:05Long distance over, you know, over social media, I believe
- 1:09he's actually you know, one of the very first real big
- 1:15supporters of midgard musings, the channel and everything.
- 1:19And you know, we connected that way and have been friends, you
- 1:24know, pretty much ever since. So Patrick Walsh is going to be
- 1:28joining us. We're going to be going to be
- 1:30talking a bit today about you know, how we Can Inspire our
- 1:37communities. And what that means about being
- 1:40Inspirations because Patrick's, in a bit of a unique situation
- 1:45himself, we're in a unique position, putting it like he's
- 1:49in a situation. Sounds like there's something
- 1:52something funny going on or there's something that you know,
- 1:54blink twice. If you're in danger kind of
- 1:56thing, no nothing like that. He is a he is in a position of
- 2:01being able to inspire and it's not something that I think a lot
- 2:06of us ever, you know, expect to find ourselves in when we do
- 2:14find ourselves in those places of being able to be an
- 2:20inspiration to other people. So we're going to go ahead and
- 2:24welcome in my good friend Patrick Walsh and we're going to
- 2:27talk about it. Here we go.
- 2:32All right, folks. Well, as I mentioned Patrick,
- 2:35Walsh has returned to for now. What is this, buddy?
- 2:38The third, third or fourth. Yeah.
- 2:41Things got to be the third. Maybe, yeah, yeah, yep.
- 2:45So this is your, this is your What a call the trilogy right?
- 2:50When you got, you have the original and then you have this
- 2:52the sequel and then what's this one?
- 2:55After the sequel, right? The the trilogy becomes a
- 2:57Trilogy. So yeah.
- 2:58We're working on. We're working on a series of
- 3:02episodes. Yeah.
- 3:04At this point. So yeah, great to have you back
- 3:07and yeah, kind of short notice tube.
- 3:10And you know, a lot of people may think I have like this
- 3:15really organized Fashion on how episodes get Get released and
- 3:21produced the it and it's sometimes there's there's some
- 3:24of that but it is the name of the podcast is fitting because
- 3:28it's random Heathen, randomly ramblings and the stuff that
- 3:33comes up half the time is so random and it's, and it starts
- 3:37from just almost nothing. Like, I don't have, like, a
- 3:41backlog of episodes. I'm trying to finish.
- 3:43It's like, well, whatever happens happens.
- 3:46So it is it's so Random at times and like today, I didn't this
- 3:53week I should say I didn't have an episode topic really plan,
- 3:58then you and I were talking this about stuff privately like over
- 4:01messenger and I'm like hey you want to come on the podcast this
- 4:05week? I'll always take any
- 4:07opportunity, especially, you know, you've helped me a lot
- 4:12with the group, join a couple of my life so to leave.
- 4:16Ah /. Yeah.
- 4:18Yeah. And I thought, you know how
- 4:20random is that like how random is it too?
- 4:22Just like, I didn't even know what to tell you.
- 4:23We were going to be talking about you and you had asked me.
- 4:26Is there a topic? I'm like, not really, but we, we
- 4:31ended up finding one and that's it kind of segues from intern to
- 4:37what you had started saying about the Highland group joining
- 4:42some of the live streams that you helped orchestrate there.
- 4:46And you know how you have become, whether you realize it
- 4:53or not or whether you ever plan for it to be, you're not how you
- 4:56kind of became an influencer in somebody who can be inspiring to
- 5:01a community and a pretty think culturally diverse communities,
- 5:10you know, and how much of a responsibility that holds and
- 5:14what a blessing that can be. It's really a truly, an honor
- 5:18and I'm always very happy to be an inspiration or any kind of a
- 5:23Beacon of Hope or just a person who can relate and understand on
- 5:29a various different things. And also, it means a lot to me.
- 5:32Especially when I said to get down on myself and I kind of
- 5:36often neglect the special and incredible things that have
- 5:40happened for the things that I do, you know?
- 5:44Like, even though I just saw hi log last, Chicago.
- 5:49It is day-to-day life has a way of chipping away at what was
- 5:53once very sacred and special. It discount, you know, becomes
- 5:57not so noticeable. And we get transfixed on the
- 6:01things that are not really going our way.
- 6:03It just kind of get lost in the day-to-day grind, you know?
- 6:08So it's really starts to have a reminder more especially with
- 6:12someone like point something out to me, rather than me trying to
- 6:17Seek praise or whatever. Oh yeah, for sure.
- 6:21I mean, you know, so for well we're going to come around back
- 6:24to it in just because in case people that are listening and
- 6:27watching for the first time that ever like Patrick you say he's
- 6:30back for the third time, this is my first time seeing him, you
- 6:34know if you wouldn't mind just kind of give a bit of background
- 6:37on what we're talking about, because we both just mentioned
- 6:39the Highland group, would you mind just kind of sharing with
- 6:44everybody? What that is where it is.
- 6:47So, Going back to the beginning of high one group, I mean, you
- 6:56can you can yeah, yeah. I kind of alluded in the
- 7:00beginning with the people that, you know, you and I have known
- 7:02each other since almost, the very beginning of midgard
- 7:05musings, you were one of the very few like part of the
- 7:09alumni, you know? I mean like the oh jeez, the
- 7:11original class of Now, the way they do things, but yeah, long
- 7:19story short basically. Yeah, you know, I hear one of
- 7:22the first people that I took very seriously on my search as
- 7:26Norse, Pagan, and he, and on YouTube because it just seemed
- 7:29like the right way to go because I struggle with reading.
- 7:33So watching something helps tremendously but anyways.
- 7:36Yeah I ever watch one of your videos and like this guy this
- 7:40guy this guy right here man he's down on Earth the people person
- 7:44and he's To relate to. So then you know, started
- 7:48following your content very closely and logged in started to
- 7:53believe, I was friends with Matthew Petrie first and then we
- 7:58became mutual's shortly thereafter and then you know
- 8:02what, thing led to another and then we start becoming a pretty
- 8:04good friends then came to visit you and it was actually a surely
- 8:09before I visit you for the first time was when I saw High lung my
- 8:14third. Hopefully not last time.
- 8:17Anyone who knows me as a person like a time.
- 8:21They take verse to describe me, high long typically tends to be
- 8:25one of those things. And I look for me, has been
- 8:29nothing short, but blessing and a chapter of my life that I'll
- 8:34never forget and has, you know, open the door.
- 8:37Some very lasting friendships. Incredible experiences.
- 8:42It's just things I never expected for Following a simple
- 8:47musical group and I kind of hate calling him a ban because they
- 8:51kind of transcend that they go to be healthy known as a tribe.
- 8:57But I'll yeah, it was after seeing them my last time,
- 9:02Chicago and hanging out and spending time with them after
- 9:06the ritual for the show that I was actually discussing this,
- 9:11with my friends last night is, you know, you kind of ask me,
- 9:15you know, why started the group in when I was hanging out with
- 9:19time. Looking and there are the idea
- 9:24that I was one of the admins of a Highland spiritual group
- 9:27community that I follow on Facebook.
- 9:29Now, I've been there. A very long time, but I'm not an
- 9:33actual, you know, AB man or moderator.
- 9:36So like for like how about I 30 minutes, I'm sitting there
- 9:41thinking to myself like man, I can't live a lie.
- 9:44I told one of the members who was vouching for me I'll let
- 9:47Mike. Hey I gotta tell you Martin like
- 9:49I'm not a nap and I'm just a very Avid supporter and you
- 9:53know, I do my best to contribute do what I can for the community.
- 9:57He says I got, that's okay, that's okay.
- 9:59I my boss won't let you guys. No, not trying to fucking lie to
- 10:01you or anything but you know, just being upfront and honest
- 10:05and I didn't want it to ruin something like the relationship
- 10:08that I do have, but most of the members and you know what, to be
- 10:11misrepresented, exactly. I want to be honest and, you
- 10:15know, myself as possible because that's something that I cherish
- 10:19myself when dealing with people, whether they be friends family
- 10:23or just coworkers, or just random pacifiers.
- 10:26But yeah. So when I came back home from
- 10:29that experience, Since I'm like you know what I really want to
- 10:32create a community my own. Now I want to build something
- 10:36from the ground up and give credit where credit's due for
- 10:40anyone watching. I'm not sure if you could put a
- 10:42link or anything but the Facebook group dive first
- 10:45started following when I first started you know filing how long
- 10:48has the hilum spiritual Community?
- 10:50It's well yeah. The reasons why I had the
- 10:57opportunities that I did and have the friendships that I do.
- 11:00Cliff clippard, one of my really good friends.
- 11:04We became friends through that group and, you know, he's
- 11:08someone else that I visited a few times.
- 11:11I usually never travel outside my state, but you know, when I
- 11:15started following highly, I have more reason to go outside my
- 11:18comfort zone, and then I'm meeting Cliff, you know, travel
- 11:23three hours to go. Go see him and then you surely
- 11:26after, you know, saying hi log out, drove five hours, that was
- 11:29probably the longest side driven by myself and got the
- 11:31shenanigans to put with that. Out the spiritual awareness.
- 11:55And that's something that I feel like is somewhat misrepresented
- 12:00sometimes because I feel like a lot of groups and I don't know,
- 12:04any specific ones offhand, if I did want to point them out
- 12:08because I don't want to talk trash or anything, but I think a
- 12:11lot of its material or like oriented, like, they're just
- 12:16trying to push selling their products and whatnot, or
- 12:20discharge y'all trying to get fame and fortune or anything
- 12:23like that. Yeah, I'm just About helping
- 12:25other people and helping myself in the process.
- 12:28So that's when I started the group and it's been growing ever
- 12:32since we were at. I want to say 800 members right
- 12:36now which I never dreamed that to get to that.
- 12:39Number, if we get over 1,000, I'll be elated and very excited.
- 12:45There's some things that are gonna happen on my channel.
- 12:47For my, my page. I'm not going to specify too
- 12:51much of some very cool things might happen.
- 12:54Soon and I'm very excited that I love, I love little teasers, you
- 13:00know what I mean? I love stuff that kind of wets
- 13:02people's appetite and gets them interested to support something,
- 13:08you know? So that's that's nice.
- 13:09I can't tell you now what it is but it's gonna be something.
- 13:13I like that. I'll just a very special, how do
- 13:17I say this without saying too much?
- 13:20Especially that. All right, important people.
- 13:24All right, that's pretty good. Teaser I like I think so and you
- 13:27and we we all heard it here first.
- 13:30I mean, I didn't hear it anywhere else.
- 13:32That's not that I, you know, see everything.
- 13:34But when I say, Newborn child born recently, and
- 13:56he did something else called the weight and date.
- 13:59Try to predict how much or how put the way the child is going
- 14:04to be. And when they're going to be
- 14:05born and we did a an amazing rattle that it crafted as a
- 14:11prize and I was pretty cool. And then we have a contest right
- 14:17now. We wanted to do kind of like a
- 14:18cosplay, so to speak, you know, a home loan member or high load
- 14:22Warrior to Sakai anal the engagement.
- 14:25I think that's imperative as you all know their content on your
- 14:29page is engagement is key. You know the more we have people
- 14:34want to you know partake and stuff makes it a more special
- 14:39meal pool page to be part of and something to support.
- 14:41Port. Yeah well there's so much when
- 14:44you know you can have like a you know a group that's in the you
- 14:48know, thousands hundreds tens of thousands whatever.
- 14:50And if there's you know there's there's a lot of things that can
- 14:54be going on at any one given point in time in a group that
- 14:57size or it can be that it's just a dead group with a bunch of
- 15:03faces on it, you know, so you gotta like just to kill time
- 15:07like, you know me. Yeah.
- 15:11Kids are like other various things to.
- 15:15Yeah, and I like, how the group that you, you know, the Highland
- 15:18Group, which by the way, you write, you talked earlier about
- 15:21links, right? Like everything will be linked.
- 15:23So awesome down in the description and in the show
- 15:26notes to this podcast and for all you listeners at want to
- 15:28check it out, they will be linked.
- 15:29Their point of fact, that I want to make on that is, you know,
- 15:34Patrick here who started this has him and some other
- 15:38moderators and Co admins I guess of the group, right?
- 15:41Right. That at that, do a really great
- 15:44job with moderating it, you know what I mean?
- 15:48Just keeping keeping things interesting.
- 15:50Keeping things engaging, and keeping things friendly and
- 15:54making sure that it's a safe space and part of that process
- 15:57involves, you know, when you want to check out the group, you
- 15:59know there's going to be a list of questions and then check
- 16:02points that you have to pass. Thank you so much for mentioning
- 16:05that because this very infuriating that's cut you off
- 16:07or anything. He says it's amazing how many
- 16:11people Look I overlooked something so simple.
- 16:13Like literally the questions I asked I don't remember them up
- 16:16the top half of basically it's like do you agree to the rules?
- 16:19Yes. And then very simple questions.
- 16:21Like you know what's your favorite High long song /
- 16:24virtual? Something very basic, not it.
- 16:28They too technical, right? It'll just answer?
- 16:31Yes, I agree to the roles of my. All right, you're good to go but
- 16:35if you don't bother answer the questions.
- 16:36I'm like I don't bother to approve your submission.
- 16:40Now, there's only very rarely Are exceptions to that rule is
- 16:43if anyone who joins my group, they came from a high look,
- 16:47spiritual community group. The original group that I was
- 16:49part of that. I'm like, okay, well they know
- 16:52they're doing their kind of like I'm tasting a lot of my
- 16:55experience from that group. It's a group, you know, because
- 16:58learning a lot of technical lessons.
- 17:00Also, there's been some people who, you know, Russell some
- 17:05feathers and that's kind of the tedious and challenge part of
- 17:10having a group. ASA, mental health, because we
- 17:14like, it's what they to deny a post on, like, your average, you
- 17:17know, page. But when it's mental, help
- 17:19people have a tendency to be, you know, maybe a little
- 17:25overdramatic sometimes and I'm not trying to say I'm a bad way
- 17:28either, is this, you know, you have rejection sensitivity, you
- 17:32have depression, you know, all these other mental aspects that
- 17:36can make it tricky to navigate sometimes, but, you know, it's
- 17:41like I always tell my app into moderators like as long as hi
- 17:44lover. A that and also mental health
- 17:47related, you really can't go wrong, but you'd be surprised,
- 17:50you know, we had an incident occurred today.
- 17:56We're somebody shared an activity that there are
- 18:00partaking up that I'll just say, is not recreational and every
- 18:03state yet. Yeah.
- 18:06So, hey, recreational are Missouri, Kick-Ass, rock and
- 18:09roll. Am I going to spark up a doobie
- 18:11right here? No, yeah, it cost over it and
- 18:16yeah, exactly. They could be like a
- 18:18sixteen-year-old watching this or someone who's way to
- 18:23impressionable or too sensitive and the list could go on and on
- 18:26and on and on as to why that's a bad idea.
- 18:29But that's just one example. Yeah.
- 18:34So there, you know, and I think that's just with any any
- 18:37anything that you have a responsibility to and in hand in
- 18:43trying to control or maintain it as a certain image, a certain
- 18:48environment, you know, I mean you're going to have to
- 18:50occasionally take the trash out and weed the garden.
- 18:54You know, it's just part of the process but the necessary
- 18:57process to it's actually a preaching to knowing that, you
- 19:02know what, overall, what am I at?
- 19:04Pins. Her name is Rose, incredible
- 19:06person, and kind of like the mama bear of the group.
- 19:10Yeah. Super visual that I have
- 19:11sometimes because you know, again, I started this group as I
- 19:18want to see hobby but it is a hobby.
- 19:20If I, if you could think of a better word, please let me know,
- 19:22but it's just it's something I do on my free time.
- 19:26Which, you know, I have a lot of, but sometimes I spent it all
- 19:30otherwise, like, going on Hikes, or, you know, doing whatever.
- 19:34And sometimes, I don't invest a lot of time into the group
- 19:38mainly because, you know, it was like I tell some people, I don't
- 19:42listen to highlight every day and they're like, what really
- 19:44might, you know, understand if I was not highlight every darn
- 19:49day, eventually I'm just getting.
- 19:51I'm sick of hearing him. Yeah, I want that to happen.
- 19:54So I listened to us Really, you know, I wrote a very long period
- 19:58of time. We're like almost like two
- 20:00years, we're legit every day. I've listened to it and they've
- 20:04just it sprayed all this awesome energy and just experiences but
- 20:09now it's like, you know. Okay, okay, that's cool.
- 20:12But let's let's do it in moderation and that's also
- 20:15another for unless not just music, but anything you partake
- 20:19up to it in moderation, whether it be drinking smoking, hell,
- 20:24even working do that. Moderation, don't don't work
- 20:27yourself to death. No, because then you're going
- 20:29back. I can't stand my life and you're
- 20:30just going to - headspace even want to be that.
- 20:33You only did that. Yeah, that's a that's a really
- 20:38good. You know, point in to make I
- 20:40think that you know there's so much going on in the world at
- 20:45any given point in time. It's like we're being over
- 20:48stimulated more often than we're not and because you know, if
- 20:53it's not, you know, the radio in your car or the TV in your
- 20:57house, it's, you know, the apps on your phone that were
- 21:01scrolling through and then, you know, we're out doing various
- 21:04things. Or whatever.
- 21:05There's just there's so much going on at any given point in
- 21:08time that you do you feel like just feeling like it, you know,
- 21:14if I stay busy it'll it'll drown out the noise and then you end
- 21:19up like you say, becoming so burnt out on the thing that you
- 21:23thought would clear your head or keep you away from the
- 21:28distractions, becomes a distraction itself, it, your
- 21:31quality of life goes down, you know, there's Consequences.
- 21:35You know. But again physically mentally
- 21:38spiritually life, just all of them, all of those aspects are
- 21:41impacted by it, you know. So it's a good point, you know,
- 21:45everything in moderation. It's, there's nothing that you
- 21:48really can't or shouldn't enjoy as long as you're not hurting
- 21:50other people. And, and as long as they're
- 21:53being enjoyed in in moderation. Exactly.
- 21:57And that's something that I think I am that you need before
- 22:00to is like One. One of which being like my
- 22:04alcohol consumption. I see drink everyday.
- 22:08Now what I say every day, I'm not talking like wake up.
- 22:12Yeah, that's, that's too much. I know people.
- 22:15That's right. You what you weren't scooping up
- 22:18your Cheerios out of Bud Light or something.
- 22:33Birthday was just a couple days ago so my eye.
- 22:35Let's go crazy, you know, but yeah.
- 22:39Yeah, you know, so now I drink typically two or three nights a
- 22:43week, like I said every week, separate there might be a bad
- 22:45week or I've decided life is really tricky right now and I
- 22:48need to numb the pain. I'm not saying that's an excuse,
- 22:52I'm not condoning it for my behavior, I'm just explaining,
- 22:54you know. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:57Hey we all there man. I mean, dude, it's is I said at
- 23:00one point in my life I'm surprised.
- 23:02And again this is not a, this isn't a brag, right?
- 23:04It isn't like. Something you should be like,
- 23:06huh? But I have one point I was like,
- 23:08I am Surprised that I am not drinking more than I am.
- 23:13Given things that we're going on in my life, you know like I'm
- 23:16surprised that I'm only drinking as much and at that time dude I
- 23:19was drinking a lot. I was going through, probably
- 23:23two liters of scotch a week. And you know, that's too much.
- 23:32No. Yeah 22.
- 23:33Yeah. 22 to leaders. Like so to half gallons.
- 23:38Yeah. Gal gal has got you.
- 23:40You know, you need a. You need to dial it back a
- 23:44little bit more than just a little bit.
- 23:46Matter of fact, I had to go, I had a basically, like, go
- 23:49abstinent of all things, like any kind of stimulants, no
- 23:52alcohol, no, no, no, nicotine, so no vaping right for like, 21
- 23:57days straight. just to kind of like, Do a hard reset.
- 24:02Yeah, basically like detox. You know.
- 24:04Not that I was, I wasn't feeling dependent on it.
- 24:07I was just at a point where I'm like, I'm in control of this and
- 24:10I can stop this and I need to get back in control before I
- 24:13start going out of control because that, you know, when and
- 24:18that's kind of why I wanted to, you know, have the topic of
- 24:21discussion be inspiring our communities, you know, it's I
- 24:25think it's a little bit different for folks like us when
- 24:28we are not, when we're more than just who we are on our
- 24:32day-to-day lives. You know what I mean?
- 24:34Like, we have An online presence, we have a
- 24:38responsibility to some degree varying degrees.
- 24:42Different people would say, you know, different levels of
- 24:45responsibility, but there is a responsibility.
- 24:48Whenever you're doing something like, what you and I are doing,
- 24:50you know, you with a group that is focused on mental health, and
- 24:53wellness, and spiritual well-being.
- 24:55And, you know, I have a podcast and a channel that is, you know,
- 25:00putting myself in front of an audience as well.
- 25:04You start going out of started, spiraling out of control and
- 25:06being irresponsible and doing things to excess people.
- 25:12See that and in how inspiring are we at that point?
- 25:15Or are we being inspirational in negative ways?
- 25:19In our, we get down that rabbit hole.
- 25:25It's really difficult not to touch off again, terrible
- 25:31Tennessee, to do that. But I'll You're fine.
- 25:35I used to be addicted to opiates for the sake of trigger
- 25:40warnings. I'll mocha specific but I'll
- 25:42just say that, you know, I came very close, not just one time,
- 25:46but I've a couple times were. I could have died one time in
- 25:52particular, was my when I overdosed back in October 27th,
- 25:58I think it was 26th 27th of October 17.
- 26:04So, like, I'll try to make this short, but it's also a very
- 26:08important story for myself, but also, I feel like anyone who
- 26:11might be watching, might be suffering from substance abuse.
- 26:14You should know that any minute to be your last minute, but I'll
- 26:18there's one day that I woke up and I was texting my guy I'm
- 26:23like, hey man, I want something. He's like okay cool.
- 26:28And that day, I remember it was very, very beautiful outside
- 26:31like this. Crazy.
- 26:33I'm like wow, cool. We're always watching The
- 26:36Sopranos have morning. There's one episode those
- 26:38playing games. It's like anytime I watched this
- 26:40episode like Taste of back to this experience but like so I
- 26:44woke up and I wait to get my check at work and like all right
- 26:47we're gonna get my check from to do my thing when I've got my
- 26:50check no issues and what the Walmart of the street.
- 26:54All right, here's my check cash it.
- 26:56Sorry, we can't cash. It systems offline.
- 26:58I'm like ah that sucks whatever. Went down the other way to the
- 27:02other Walmart. Sorry.
- 27:04Your systems are down. You know, you can't you check to
- 27:07Mike, huh? That's two times now.
- 27:11Because kind of like a red flag or like an early.
- 27:14Yeah, yeah. Tell you something.
- 27:17Exactly. And I was helping on ignoring it
- 27:20and I pay the price. But so I went to this one place.
- 27:25I got a loan one time and I'm like hey can you cash this or I
- 27:29guess heard you. I'll do it.
- 27:31And then I went out to my guy and then he's like, hey careful,
- 27:35this stuff's really potent to my cup out of uses trying to Hype
- 27:37it up and just try to boost sales and all that crap.
- 27:41No, he wasn't lying. I like I'm not trying to get too
- 27:46graphic here. So I did that the substance.
- 27:50And I was going to my friends house shortly thereafter.
- 27:56I would mention specific streets but do no justice because none
- 27:59of you guys live in my neck of the woods if you do.
- 28:02Okay? But it is what it is.
- 28:03But I love going the opposite direction.
- 28:07And then this is the part that baffles me that blows my mind
- 28:12is. I somehow managed to drive my
- 28:15vehicle for over 15 minutes. Without being aware of it, I
- 28:21blacked out and somehow managed to drive towards my house
- 28:27without running into anybody without going all throughout
- 28:30just yet. Well right now else for running
- 28:33to any other vehicles on the road and I end up finding a
- 28:37guard rail car flipped over three times.
- 28:40The gas tank started leaking and I one day I'm going to share a
- 28:46picture. I'm if I have it already sure.
- 28:48Appreciate the you but that's Truck is like pretty much
- 28:50smooshed like a sandwich. There is like two or three
- 28:53times. I remember coming to
- 28:54Consciousness and then passing out again, but it wasn't
- 28:57installed to me. But let's head to the hospital
- 29:00or Mike what happened. You're a year overdosed.
- 29:02And I'm like, am I such and such place like Oh no, you're over
- 29:06here. I'm like oh shit.
- 29:08My house. The truck died.
- 29:09Oh no that bad cool going on. Yeah and I'll tell you what
- 29:15though that was a tough road in a very difficult time.
- 29:18Indeed. You know, coming off the
- 29:20substance and then the damage you did put the not just
- 29:25financially but spiritually and with my family my friends too
- 29:31because they could trust me. Why should they?
- 29:34Because the specific substance that I was addicted to all I was
- 29:39focused on when I woke up. Like, how am I gonna get money?
- 29:41Okay, I got the money. How am I gonna get a ride?
- 29:44How am I gonna get to stop basis?
- 29:46That's messed. The, the three things you deal
- 29:48with. Every day and then if you're not
- 29:50feel that could be like, oh crap, I got withdrawals or Bono
- 29:54L dislike Raps. Like, yeah, anyone who's
- 29:57watching if you're having substance issued problems, it's
- 30:02okay to seek help. Actually, it's imperative that
- 30:05you seek help you're not alone. You, there's so many people who
- 30:10have the same strong will battle every day.
- 30:13It's not a defeat. When you're seeking help, its
- 30:15defeat when you're Six Feet Under, This is the feet when
- 30:18you're in jail. With its defeat when you're a
- 30:20rehab unwillingly. So, when you have that
- 30:23opportunity season before suit too late, because that's
- 30:27something you do, you don't want to mess around.
- 30:31So I kind of come out there. That's that, that mean, and
- 30:36that's kind of what I, you know, was that, that's what it's about
- 30:38here, man. I mean, the people know that,
- 30:40listen, you know, that's what this is about.
- 30:42It's, you know, there's a topic but it's more of a guideline,
- 30:46you know, it's not a hard thing that we're going to stick to.
- 30:48We're going to talk around it. We're going to talk about it.
- 30:49We're gonna course go off Trail. We're going to climb some trees.
- 30:52We're going to go in some caves. We're going to come out the
- 30:56other side and then we're going to go back through and maybe
- 31:00find some other holes to dig around in.
- 31:02But you know, that's, you know, had you had you not gone through
- 31:06those things and I was looking through some stuff earlier today
- 31:09and just like reminiscing and came across a post about how in
- 31:17we actually did an episode on this, you and I did about how
- 31:21building were through adversity, Yep.
- 31:25And how when, when it comes now to like this topic about
- 31:28inspiring our communities and actually being someone who no
- 31:32matter how big or small is I mean, looked at in an admirable
- 31:39way or looked up to or, you know, Seen as someone of
- 31:44importance and and how had we not endured the challenges and
- 31:51had not gone through the adversities and or deals that
- 31:54we've gone through. We wouldn't be that person who
- 31:59is so inspirational or whatever today and it's really like
- 32:04people can tell I'm talking around like talking through it
- 32:07but it's like choppy because it's hard for me even to just
- 32:10say like yeah I've been in spirit because it sounds so
- 32:12conceited coming from me but I want to talk about the reality
- 32:15of it is that you know, people do give you credit Patrick like
- 32:19they I mean people say great things about you and I mean I do
- 32:23too, it's a you know, it's been wonderful to develop a
- 32:26friendship. Ship and a bond with you.
- 32:27Over the years that started from a long distance, social media
- 32:32interaction, you know, you followed my work and supported
- 32:36me and now we're supporting each other.
- 32:39And I'm on your lives and your over here on the podcast.
- 32:41And it's, you know, the cycle continues of the, you know, it
- 32:45goes on and we can talk about those things and we can say,
- 32:48yeah man, you're inspiring to me.
- 32:50Well, guess what? I'm inspiring to you to, you
- 32:51know, like there's this back before.
- 32:54So, yeah. You know, I mean, and there's
- 32:56other I know that are inspired by you and they not say it
- 33:02directly or may not have the opportunity or whatever to say
- 33:05it, but I know they feel it because look at the communities
- 33:08built. You know, you started off with
- 33:10an idea and a dream and something that inspired you and
- 33:17now you've got 800, some people that find a safe space and what
- 33:23you've created, you know, you've given them a place where they
- 33:26can Sort of let their hair down and be themselves a bit and then
- 33:30know that there's not going to be any sort of repercussion or -
- 33:36laughs, you know, lash back or whatever about it, you know, and
- 33:40that's that's got to be that's got to be a great feeling and,
- 33:44you know, had you not gone through the things you gone
- 33:46through. To appreciate what you have and
- 33:50be inspired to want to do it with that.
- 33:53Even would your group even be here?
- 33:55Would with the hilum group that you're talking, you know, that
- 33:57you which at Highland was it mental health and spiritual
- 34:00Community? Or is that what it's called, or
- 34:01what is it? The name Yeager, specifically.
- 34:06It's terrible to say, but All the lovely things have a lovely
- 34:12way of making forget the simplest things but yes it's the
- 34:16high, look spiritual and mental health group.
- 34:20It's like you said, it's going to be posted down below, but I'm
- 34:23really glad you touched that to is.
- 34:26Again going to the discussion. I have one of my members last
- 34:29night. This is Hearing him say all
- 34:33these wonderful things. Like the group has helped them
- 34:35so much and just like even as a spectator, when I'm looking
- 34:38through some of our posts and I see people interacting with each
- 34:42other and saying, wonderful things about my group.
- 34:44It's like it's surreal because I know it's my group, but like the
- 34:50group has taken a life of its own.
- 34:52It's kind of funny to in some ways is a, my admins and
- 34:56moderators. Create this group chat, not me
- 34:59they created it. Am I?
- 35:00Alright, if you would like to return in time, I'm just like
- 35:02sitting off to the side. Like oh wow, interesting.
- 35:05These guys got this going on my that's cool.
- 35:08It's it's really help. Really fascinating enough.
- 35:13You know, it really makes me happy to see that going off or
- 35:16something that I created and I'm a very not very egocentric, all
- 35:22kind of person. I'm very you know modest in a
- 35:25lot of ways. Like anytime I do something
- 35:27that's really cool. I don't boast about it very
- 35:30often like for example, my drawings like SpongeBob and all
- 35:34those. Yeah their ties right after I
- 35:37got the do something or drawing. I'm like looking at this to
- 35:40Mike. All right, all right, that's not
- 35:44talking about right there, you know, but I'll be out like I
- 35:48said to steal does for the fields that I I like to chase
- 35:51after is to you know, and I'll talk to you watching anyone
- 35:55who's watching. You know, there's few Felix in
- 35:57the world that can really measure up to this but knowing
- 36:00that, you make an impact and help someone and it could be a
- 36:04variety of different ways. It could be very, very simple
- 36:08things that and it's important to remember.
- 36:11The, you may not see how it may possibly affect somebody.
- 36:16For example, like, you know, there's some days where I'm
- 36:20having a bad day and someone gives me a very warm smile.
- 36:24Even if it only lasts for a couple hours, I was in a good
- 36:26mood, Mike. Hey, that's something or just,
- 36:30you know, something open up the door for your big things, like a
- 36:34member of one of my groups comes out, takes time out of their day
- 36:38to say, hey, I really appreciate what you're doing or Sorry I was
- 36:46really emotional. Is a when my cat eye bar was
- 36:50dog. Not doing too good and they do
- 36:53post about it on Facebook and Maria friends actually commented
- 37:00on that post saying, you know, sending healing energy to Ivar.
- 37:03I'm just like Wow, it's just what people take time out of
- 37:09their days. Do something like that is,
- 37:10especially High long, no less. It's just further really
- 37:14reinforces why I have the love and passion that I do for this
- 37:18tribe and why I create it, what I did.
- 37:21But also, you know, that's an example of something you could
- 37:25do, you know, I'm not saying damn member of hi long.
- 37:27Time to say, you know, say nice things, you know, and hearing
- 37:33what's important. As I preach this very His
- 37:36intentions intentions intentions, you know, like for
- 37:40example, going back to intentions is what do you think
- 37:42about? Like, if you don't have an
- 37:45altar, that you can set up in the privacy of your own
- 37:48residence? Hey, you know what, even if the
- 37:51altars in your mind, that's good enough.
- 37:53Mike? And the gods will see that, you
- 37:55know, you don't have a lot of money to spend on things.
- 37:59Hey, you know what, maybe you could craft something like, you
- 38:02know, Papa does or a clip does or Matthew, you know anything
- 38:08it's just you've got a bear, your true intentions of hey you
- 38:12know what, I really want to venerate my ancestors, my family
- 38:16and my gods. I really want to do something.
- 38:19What you have that in your heart, I feel like you're
- 38:22already on the right path. You can't go wrong.
- 38:25Yeah. Me credit to be a little tricky.
- 38:26When you start to over, complicate these like I do, like
- 38:29I'm like, oh crap. I'm gonna do like, last night, I
- 38:32want to celebrate, you know. Festivities I'm like, oh crap
- 38:37you how am I going to do this perfectly?
- 38:39How about it is perfectly? Hey that's okay.
- 38:41This, let it play out and more often not just read that it, you
- 38:46know, pretty to this is more often.
- 38:48That is the spiritual and amazing experiences that we
- 38:51encounter happen at the most random times they did something
- 38:55you plan on. It's just that the truth is,
- 39:00this happens. It's the right, it's the
- 39:03randomness of it and you know sure there are there are
- 39:07definitely times I think that you know planning something out
- 39:10for specific event especially if it's a major holy tight or
- 39:13whatever, you know like plan it out do something of a bit of a
- 39:16spectacular Nature's to whatever degree you can you know like
- 39:19course but but if Ike you know, so you know, today is the second
- 39:26at the time you like we're filming this on the second.
- 39:30When this airs, it's going to be the fourth. and, So the day
- 39:37before today, like it was, you know, first of May and and
- 39:40everyone is we see all these posts about belting and and and
- 39:45stuck in my wife is more collect than I am.
- 39:47In terms of my the holy tides that I observe.
- 39:50But hey, you know if it's a holy tight to her and we want to
- 39:53celebrate, then I'm all about celebrations.
- 39:55You know? I mean, that's the thing about
- 39:56us, pagans is if it calls for celebration, when where they
- 39:59are, you know what I mean? But yeah, so she wanted to do
- 40:05something and it was very It was it was not a long plan because
- 40:11again you know we didn't like well in a week from now, let's
- 40:13do this thing. Then the other for belting it
- 40:15was just what she said. I'm going to make this for
- 40:18dinner. I'm going to have this for
- 40:19dessert and I want to get some wine and then we'll have a fire
- 40:22and then the gift at the fire. I'm going to actually post a
- 40:25picture. If you seen it yet that I said,
- 40:29did I showed it to you? Right, you might have.
- 40:32I don't remember if I did but if you have to check it out, if you
- 40:36haven't, I will show you but for everyone listening and watching,
- 40:40it's going to be pumped, it's going to be right up here on
- 40:42this on this, on the screen. I'm going to put a an image
- 40:46right here so you can see what she did.
- 40:48But it was like, the most beautiful arrangement of the
- 40:52simplest things that we just had laying around not laying around
- 40:56in the sense of like junk. But it was like, we have a peace
- 41:00lily plant in the house. You know, so it was one of the,
- 41:03it was one of the flowers, the petals from the peace lily.
- 41:06She also has an orchid plant and there was, you know, some petals
- 41:10from the Orchid and then grains and seeds and fruits and incense
- 41:17and obsidian like just various things that were all like
- 41:21arranged in such a way. That just looks so pretty, you
- 41:26know? And I'm like I call for a vote
- 41:29that for fall future. Clearly folk tribal functions
- 41:32that involve ritual that that she be henceforth and forever.
- 41:37The, the ritual Arrangement arranger, whoever.
- 41:41I don't know why I have to come up with the name or whatever you
- 41:44know, the people that put like flower arrangements and stuff
- 41:46and Florist. Like she's that for the tribe,
- 41:49like that's her in like and every was like, yep, we're we
- 41:52see Second that I'm like it you can't argue.
- 41:54Look at this like look at how beautiful it is and say yeah you
- 41:57know, but again the point being like you say the intention was
- 42:02to do something genuine, the purpose was for, you know what,
- 42:07the Beltane time of the year, you know what belting means for
- 42:11her. So there was already purpose,
- 42:14our intentions that went into it were of Weren't, you know, we
- 42:17didn't take a very long time to plan for this, but we're going
- 42:20to give something of meaning, no matter how small it may be.
- 42:23And, you know, so maybe not everybody has a plant laying
- 42:26around or or let's say laying around like careless.
- 42:29But you know what I mean? It's, you know, not everybody
- 42:31has a houseplant, but the point of it is, is, you know, it can
- 42:34be something. Just that simple, you know, we
- 42:37have some herbs. Some grains.
- 42:39You know what, your intentions intention and purpose.
- 42:44It's like, what? UK?
- 42:45They got to go hand in hand. And you got to know why your is
- 42:48why it is that you're doing it. And then the intentions behind
- 42:52that that carry it, otherwise, it'd be unnecessarily chaotic
- 42:56and, you know, you just well, yeah, reflect you're really
- 43:00trying to so so to speak right? You know, I knew a guy one time,
- 43:06you know, talking about intentions, I know a guy one
- 43:07time and he's like well you know I just had this Red Bowl in the
- 43:10fridge and that was my gift to the gods.
- 43:11I'm like dude you can do better than a Red Bull.
- 43:15Come on. Like take take this seriously,
- 43:19take this somewhat seriously freaking Rebel, like the gods
- 43:24don't need to be given Wings. They are like, you know, they're
- 43:28already sacred beings anyway. Like come on get with the
- 43:31program here and take this somewhat seriously, you know, it
- 43:36kind of reminds me of when offering that I managed to get
- 43:42yesterday was a So I saw clip has this really cool flak about
- 43:49the Norse holidays and one of them yesterday's holiday.
- 43:54I'll butcher if I try to pronounce it but um basically
- 43:57one of the things that was made as offerings was Bread Butter,
- 44:01honey. Mike.
- 44:02That's simple enough. but then I'm like, well, I have some
- 44:06extra money to spend, so, Let's do something.
- 44:09So I went to the local local grocery store and I found this,
- 44:13I don't want to get your average size brag because that just
- 44:16seemed like an install personally like not know.
- 44:19So what's the bakery section of the store schnooks?
- 44:21Anyone who's familiar with them and then Onyx?
- 44:24Yep, shoots and I got this, take it back.
- 44:29I think his photos called is like, it looked like his already
- 44:32fix that. I guess it wasn't.
- 44:33So you just take it. Home need to thank her for like
- 44:36seven to ten minutes and then I didn't realize how hard it was
- 44:42to slice. I mean, it's funny today, I want
- 44:45to get sliced bread. But I wanted to slice it
- 44:48afterwards that that made. Yeah, seem like it'd be more
- 44:51meaningful but like then I got some Irish butter and then some
- 44:55some honey, some local honey. My what I did is I tried to
- 45:00slice up this brag, but I tell you what, he was a pain in the
- 45:03butt and like squishing the phrase, I'm trying to slice it
- 45:07like, damn it. You have a good knife or what
- 45:10you over there, like, trying to cut it with a spoon, or what's
- 45:12the deal? Oh no, no, no, I need to get you
- 45:14a knife, Patrick. Do I need to do?
- 45:16I need to come over there and sharpen your Sorry, I think you
- 45:18might just have to jamming. It's a loaf of bread, buddy.
- 45:21Let's get let's get. Let's get her signature here.
- 45:23I'll take it. You know, but no.
- 45:26Yeah. The bread, I had literally I cut
- 45:29it like five minutes after I begged it.
- 45:32I don't know if that has something to do with that.
- 45:33Are supposed to text your sourdough.
- 45:35I'm not springy. Yes, springy.
- 45:44You know this is becoming get this guy's stick now likes you
- 45:49gotta it's almost like you got a whip out the Husqvarna, man.
- 45:52You gotta, you gotta go back there and rev up the the old
- 45:56steel chain saw, you know, Today, we're at the headdress
- 46:29and use the drum that I got. Those are two things.
- 46:32Hmm, I'll tell you what. I'll so the drug from Papa all
- 46:36upset, I knew was going to come in a ride that much.
- 46:39I was sure of but Natalie what? When I saw you and we hung out
- 46:44and I heard your job and just anything that Papa makes it's
- 46:48just I could sing his Praises all day and it wouldn't be
- 46:51enough. This is he's the true master of
- 46:53his craft and a true inspiration as well as you are, you know, I
- 46:57just You too. I see you guys do what you do,
- 46:59you know, going back to helping the community and that's what
- 47:02being a little shout out. I'm going to give out to these
- 47:05two gentlemen, is pop all of scent and then Jesse here.
- 47:07Since these two men, my days for, I don't feel that
- 47:11spiritually president for Motivated at since I watched it
- 47:15two men, I'm just like, man, this is what I Aspire.
- 47:18What I want to embody and ride practices, and I'm not going to
- 47:23do it specifically as they do because that would just be
- 47:26copying. But I'm going to Apply it at my
- 47:28own ways that I can to my life. But that's something that they
- 47:31inspire me to do. And that's kind of ties into
- 47:34what we're discussing in this. This podcast is when you think
- 47:38when you could become someone like that, that's really a
- 47:42remarkable feat but it's also very imperative.
- 47:44As we mentioned earlier, in the podcast is not to get too
- 47:48egotistical about it. It's okay to give your pump out
- 47:51of the backpack, Kick-Ass, rock and roll.
- 47:53Really making a name for myself but don't Not that anyone's
- 47:57gonna do this but you know, speaking properly though there
- 48:01are times we abused that privilege for reviews that, you
- 48:04know, influence to attain things that may not entirely be
- 48:08wholesome and this is all very hypothetical and theoretical but
- 48:13I'm just saying, you know, it's sorry, go ahead.
- 48:17No. I mean what I was, you know, I'm
- 48:19agreeing with everything that you're saying in the sense that
- 48:22and that was one of the things I wanted to because I keyed in on
- 48:25What you were saying earlier and I wanted to come back to and
- 48:29it's a good point right now is the ego, you know, because you
- 48:32had said something earlier like I'm not I'm not too much of a,
- 48:35I'm not too much into my ego or egotistic.
- 48:38So and I'm like you got to be a little.
- 48:42Yeah you have to be so you have to be aware that.
- 48:44First of all, the egos, not all bad.
- 48:49You know what I mean? Like there there's aspects and
- 48:52parts that you know, Need to be kept in check and and through
- 48:57the right through the through the right methods and through
- 49:01the right practice and yeah methods you know there's there's
- 49:06times when you know ego death is necessary but it's not it's not
- 49:10like extinguishing it's putting something to rest and allowing
- 49:14the multifaceted. aspects of us of ourselves as As a creature as
- 49:23a species you know as Humanity to embrace our ego and and and
- 49:30keep in keep it in check at the same time, you know?
- 49:33So you we have to be as people that I mean dude, if you were to
- 49:36tell me and say that you're not egotistical it's not a bad
- 49:39thing. If you are just a little bit
- 49:41because you have to have a bit of an ego to want to sit in
- 49:43front of a camera and talk to people like this or do live
- 49:46streams or engage with people, you know what I mean?
- 49:49Like they're it, you have to have that it otherwise You'd be
- 49:54like, nope, never going to do that.
- 49:56Somebody else can do it, you know.
- 49:57There's there's there's plenty of people like that and I know
- 50:00like there's been people who have got called in to the
- 50:03podcast or written into the podcast and it was like, you
- 50:06know, I was sitting on this for a long time and even really want
- 50:08to do it because of, you know, their personal reasons and which
- 50:11they're entitled to feel. And then that's okay, there's
- 50:14nothing wrong with it. But what I mean is is, you know,
- 50:15there are gender are genuinely people just not built for this,
- 50:19not that. It's a hard thing to do, but
- 50:20it's not a part of their character, it's not a part of
- 50:22their ego. Know that that part of the ego,
- 50:24doesn't. Exist for them.
- 50:28But to that point, you know, what you were saying is, you
- 50:30know, it is something that can run away with itself and there
- 50:34are people that have let it do so, you know, there's there's
- 50:36there's there's people out here that have abused this, you know,
- 50:42they're they're they're five minutes of fame or whatever you
- 50:44know. And I mean and they become
- 50:48Charlatans and and just bar - not genuine about the
- 50:59inspiration and then that was, that was the second part of what
- 51:02I was wanting to address right now.
- 51:04Was that, you know, look at look at kind of the pattern.
- 51:07Look at, look at the flow of things, you know.
- 51:09You know, I started doing this stuff like YouTube videos and
- 51:15then, you know, podcast later on I started Doing this because I
- 51:21was looking for something in my area.
- 51:24I didn't really find anything that was quite liked what I was
- 51:28doing. And I started searching online
- 51:30about, you know, Heathen kindred's are starting heating
- 51:33Caterers and I found a video on YouTube by Eric Sherman are
- 51:36Edward. Weaver shervin on the Ravens
- 51:37call and it was talking about heathen meetups and I'm like,
- 51:41who's this guy? You know and then Eric is those
- 51:46is the source of my inspiration. Starting that guard, musings.
- 51:50He's channels was a little bit started before mine and you
- 51:55know, he was my my source of inspiration.
- 51:58I didn't do the same thing that he was doing.
- 52:00I originally started the channel to be.
- 52:03Well, he was musings of the of the Hub mall I was, I was
- 52:06reciting stanzas from the Harbour Mall and kind of just
- 52:10dissecting them a bit and talking about stuff and then,
- 52:15you know days, go into months, go into years down the road.
- 52:18The road and then you know here you are inspired by by myself
- 52:22and then you mentioned, Papa Olufsen fee, all the tier
- 52:26workshop, being an inspiration. And and and now you've done
- 52:30things and are doing things, that who knows who's going to be
- 52:34inspired by you and who's going to do something that Patrick
- 52:39Walsh did and the instant what? Yeah, so exactly what I'm trying
- 52:44to say is like the in the genuine desire to inspire fire.
- 52:50Desire to inspire is is it transfers through to genuine
- 52:59people that want to continue that flame?
- 53:03You know, and keep that flame lit?
- 53:05It's like without even knowing it.
- 53:07You know, Eric inspired I'm sure he's inspired other people.
- 53:10I mean I can't be the only one but here I am because of Eric
- 53:14and now here you are because of me or Papa or both.
- 53:19You know and then what's to come for those that said, they're
- 53:21there because of Patrick Walsh, you know, and so on and so
- 53:24forth. So there's this, there's this
- 53:26continuity, it keeps going and if it's in genuine or
- 53:31disingenuine, I should say, you know, I mean like if it's if
- 53:33it's not in genuine, right? So if it's not from the heart,
- 53:38it's not pure. It'll, it'll turn to crap.
- 53:43I feel like in that also, you know, consternation that to
- 53:46accept, thank you for not being genuine.
- 53:48It'll find its way this carving itself and you'll lose what
- 53:54you're trying to gain. And I think that's beautiful
- 53:57because like, you know, Just what topic, I kind of want to
- 54:02press on before I forget what that HD.
- 54:04But I'll meet the someone who suffers from That might sound
- 54:10Bleak but it is what it is though, it is suffering is for
- 54:13my physical deformity before the way I and then having doing what
- 54:20I'm doing, you know, via YouTube Facebook, what have you is?
- 54:26You know, again I told you before to privately and through
- 54:30a stream is, I personally a lot of times, I can't stand hearing
- 54:36my voice feel like you know, right now talking I have no
- 54:38claws. No issues, no problems at all
- 54:41like afterwards. When I watch this, they can't
- 54:44take this. It provides me.
- 54:48An opportunity to boost my ego. Again pretty slow worth
- 54:53discussing is like that's something I struggle with very
- 54:56greatly is loving myself. Holy because right now is partly
- 55:01and I just want to my goal is to be a real fully accepting in
- 55:07appreciate my flaws and my you know, my perks and my, my
- 55:12benefits and such but I'll yeah they so bored in my situation I
- 55:17almost feel I don't to say obligate but obligated and y'all
- 55:22just to inspire anyone else, who might be suffering from a
- 55:26physical flexion, or even eventual pushing because I
- 55:29remember you made up for a podcast, I found was what
- 55:34specific one that was, but it was a before or after.
- 55:39The fatir the lamp is here. Uh-huh.
- 55:43Yes, we're talking about, you know mental afflictions and how
- 55:46you really could relate to a lot of that and in like what I was
- 55:50watching that podcast like, well I can relate a lot to that and I
- 55:54think it's really important to do what I'm doing to let other
- 55:57people know whether it be mental or physical, that you're not
- 56:01alone, and you have the strength and courage to overcome those
- 56:05issues. It's funny because there's a lot
- 56:08of times when I'm like, wow, Watching or scrolling, something
- 56:11I hear someone say that my God, that's cheesy as shit.
- 56:14But then again, pardon the French but it's just It's
- 56:20amazing how much of an impact those words can have and how
- 56:25that reassurance because I think the ultimate goal is to find
- 56:30that one person like me or you or anyone who's going through a
- 56:35messed-up time and they see that and it just hits them at the
- 56:39right moment. Even took this one person or
- 56:441,000 people, you know you're right.
- 56:50It's something that cannot. be like, Trying to find the words
- 56:56again. Darn it.
- 56:57Yeah. I mean God you can't you can't
- 57:01you can't it is it's a hard thing to to verbalize.
- 57:04It's a hard thing to to explain but you know with with you man
- 57:08like to your point, you know? Because I I strive to be
- 57:13transparent without oversharing. But to let people know like hey
- 57:16you know there while I understand and fully realize the
- 57:20importance of you know mental health awareness and all these
- 57:23things I literally Don't. Live with these conditions, you
- 57:28know what I mean? I live with someone who has
- 57:31those, not maybe all the same but has, you know, suffers from
- 57:35mental health conditions and so I can only empathize You know, I
- 57:41can't sympathize because I don't go through it.
- 57:44So when you've got someone like yourself who is open and honest
- 57:47and transparent to the point of not feeling shame because of it,
- 57:52you know, to talk opening like, yeah, you know what, I'm and
- 57:57don't take this the wrong way, but I'm a hot mess and it's okay
- 58:00if you are too, right, it's, it's that kind of self awareness
- 58:04and acceptance and putting yourself out here in the public
- 58:08eye that That you know on the same scale.
- 58:12But I was watching this documentary about The Judds so
- 58:21country music women, the the mother and daughter Naomi and
- 58:25Wynonna Judd who paved the way for female country music
- 58:32performers. They are legends and the in the
- 58:37country music scene. But when when Naomi the mother
- 58:41passed away because of suicide. No, trigger warning, sorry
- 58:47there, you know, wyona took that Carry the torch.
- 58:54And then she did all these things and she wanted to do it.
- 58:57And the reason why I'm bringing this up is I should do.
- 58:59She talked about, you know, if, if the world sees and if people
- 59:03see and, you know, again realizing the kind of influence
- 59:07that these ladies have had in the following, they've had since
- 59:10the 80s, you know, their their world-famous, if y know, wyona,
- 59:15Wenonah Wynonna, Judd wyona, Judd, I keep saying, wyona,
- 59:20Judd, if she could do it, Right? If she could go out and perform
- 59:24these shows and honor her mother's Legacy and talk about
- 59:28these things having just lost her mother to Suicide, right?
- 59:33And it her thing, was it that if I can show the world, that if I
- 59:36can do it, anyone can do it. Exactly.
- 59:40You know, in this is the type of stuff that we're talking about
- 59:43inspiring our communities, if we can do things and even you know
- 59:47everybody struggles, everybody has their bad days.
- 59:50Everybody has some days, you know, Some people's bad days are
- 59:54worse than others, people's bad days, but we're all having bad
- 59:59days. We're all going through some
- 1:00:00stuff, man. You know, I received I received
- 1:00:06a message from someone. Either earlier today or
- 1:00:10yesterday saying I don't really know this person I just recently
- 1:00:15connected to them through or that I get a mutual friend on
- 1:00:18social media, right? and, You know, they were talking
- 1:00:23about. You know, the last week's
- 1:00:26podcast and you know, that you meeting me came back from from
- 1:00:34your, you know, traveling for the death of my father, and came
- 1:00:38back and put out quality content.
- 1:00:41And that, then those were their words, not mine.
- 1:00:43They they said, you know, you came back from such a thing and
- 1:00:45put out quality content, you know, you realize how much that,
- 1:00:49like, just tugs at my heart because, Quite, honestly,
- 1:00:53there's a lot of times that I feel like the quality that I put
- 1:00:55out, isn't up to speed and it's not up to part of like, I could
- 1:00:58do so much better. If I really, if I had more time,
- 1:01:00if I had more equipment, if you know, I find out, I find all
- 1:01:06these reasons why I think it could be better.
- 1:01:10And then I hear like the, you know, the comment like that or
- 1:01:12the message like that. And I'm like, man, I I made an
- 1:01:17impact, you know, this I impacted somebody and they took
- 1:01:20time out of their day to tell me as such, you know, and it just
- 1:01:25no matter what, no matter where this podcast goes, no matter
- 1:01:28where your head, your Highland group goes, you know, I feel
- 1:01:31like I can speak for the both of us in that, you know, anytime we
- 1:01:35get those types of comments or messages, it really inspires us
- 1:01:41to keep doing these things. You know, from just that one
- 1:01:44person. Yeah.
- 1:01:46Y'all to really put that more its practice and to also as as
- 1:01:51here met you too, you know, I could have done this better.
- 1:01:54I can it's okay, it's healthy to have those aspirations to do
- 1:01:57better, right? But what counts in the form of
- 1:02:00negative criticism, like how Jesus Christ, what are you?
- 1:02:03What are you doing? Well, don't say talk.
- 1:02:10You know what? This podcast, didn't meet
- 1:02:12expectations but you know what? Next time it's gonna be dark to.
- 1:02:18Yeah, really cool. I'm try my best not to curse
- 1:02:21right now. It's like the second at this
- 1:02:24point. It's all right.
- 1:02:25I mean, we're this PG-13. We already we got past the, the
- 1:02:28R rating game. I'll tell you what.
- 1:02:34Yeah, try to go back on track. When I was thinking, though is
- 1:02:40again, I imagine I'm very sure that I'm certain that this
- 1:02:46podcast will be shared with my group and I imagine a few of
- 1:02:52them will be watching in a case that situation.
- 1:02:55I just want to tell my viewers them, you know, my my group that
- 1:02:59I appreciate and love you guys very much for doing what you do,
- 1:03:03whether it's the simplest waking up.
- 1:03:05Mike. Hey, you know what I want to
- 1:03:06like or share comment on this post or I want to take time to
- 1:03:11let someone know. They're going to be okay, like,
- 1:03:14what am I members? I'll really hit hard.
- 1:03:17What happened to her as she lost one of her pets.
- 1:03:20A cat know. no less, and that just It's had to put on the
- 1:03:26rest, and I'm like, you know what?
- 1:03:27I was in your shoes, literally last year, or last summer and
- 1:03:30just, it's not an easy thing to do.
- 1:03:33But just knowing that, I made this group at made a safe space
- 1:03:37for her to express and to really feel okay with not being, okay?
- 1:03:42And being in a messed up situation like that whether it
- 1:03:44be natural and natural, you know, you're here, you're okay,
- 1:03:47you're going to be all right, you know, and such an example,
- 1:03:52losing your pet, you know, just know that.
- 1:03:54It's not gonna last forever or if you're recovering from
- 1:03:58substance, you know, addiction or battling, you know your
- 1:04:05depression wherever is your Afflicted bit it's not going to
- 1:04:08last forever, there's gonna be good days but also it's
- 1:04:12important to ground yourself. And remember like oh yeah,
- 1:04:15there's gonna be some bad days. There's going to be some days
- 1:04:18right? To hell with this crap.
- 1:04:20I've done Yeah, but tomorrow. Tomorrow's another day.
- 1:04:25Open the door, you know, know what you're going to walk
- 1:04:27through, but it could be great, you know, could be, you want to
- 1:04:31be here to see it either way? Exactly.
- 1:04:35Yeah, I had a, something interesting happened, the other
- 1:04:38night too. You talked about earlier, the
- 1:04:43you know, festivity celebrations belting we talked about with
- 1:04:47what my wife did and a lot of people have similar existences
- 1:04:52or similar family situations where there's Multiple things
- 1:04:56going on. So you're going to do your nor
- 1:04:59stuff, then you're going to do, you're more, I don't know.
- 1:05:02Whatever. Celtic stuff, your eclectic.
- 1:05:03Whatever you like it's multi-faceted.
- 1:05:06There's a lot of things going on a lot of people's houses.
- 1:05:08So it's relatively relatable, right.
- 1:05:11And again, the randomness of it all, you know, like I had no
- 1:05:17plans of Putting myself into a ritual state to to do something,
- 1:05:25you know? So I'm like my wife's like, you
- 1:05:26know, you know, you need to give something you need to do
- 1:05:28something for this for this gift and then you need to recite the
- 1:05:34blessing or the prayer, the Chan or whatever it is.
- 1:05:36And I'm like, but I didn't have time to prepare for this you
- 1:05:39know, I'm like I didn't write anything down.
- 1:05:41What the hell am I doing here? I don't know what this is about.
- 1:05:44Like, you know, again, it was like one of those things I get
- 1:05:45put on the spot but I said, no. Okay.
- 1:05:48You know, she declared it. And so, I was like right, well
- 1:05:52she started showing me what it was and then I got the the the
- 1:05:55items that I contributed to the to the gift.
- 1:05:58And in that moment, you know, just just standing there by the
- 1:06:05fire and having a moment to sort of Put my put my mind in a place
- 1:06:12of consideration for what the belting holiday means, you know,
- 1:06:19and and what it is represented for for a lot of pagans.
- 1:06:24And and you know, the thing that came to my mind to say was May
- 1:06:33the gifts that we are about to give.
- 1:06:37B. the forget, the exact words but it was made that made the
- 1:06:41gifts that we are giving or about to give Be the start of
- 1:06:52new growth in desolate soil or something along those lines.
- 1:06:58Again, it was, it was, it was like a one-time like a one-liner
- 1:07:02sort of deal. Like, it wasn't a long
- 1:07:04paragraph, it wasn't a long ritual, but that was my prayer.
- 1:07:06That was my be that was money. That was my my my prayer, you
- 1:07:10know, my my chant as it were and so that I sent it as such and
- 1:07:14you want to know something, man, I stood there at by that fire
- 1:07:19after the Us were given. And I just sort of kind of got
- 1:07:22into, like a trance. Meditative trance, just from
- 1:07:28music. Just from a beat, you know, that
- 1:07:32Rhythm. And I was telling my wife
- 1:07:35afterwards, I said, you know, I felt like I was being like
- 1:07:42pulled downward and also at one point stretched upward like up
- 1:07:50and down at the same time like being anchored first and then
- 1:07:54being stretched. Like I felt like my arms were
- 1:07:56stretched so far like I was like your watch those like old
- 1:07:59Stretch Armstrong commercials where dudes like all rubber
- 1:08:03elastic getting just dancing all day.
- 1:08:06That's what I felt like. like it was I felt like I was so
- 1:08:09anchored in the ground and yet pulled up high that I couldn't
- 1:08:14be uprooted but I had to first kind of really sink in deep.
- 1:08:20Yeah, and that was just from that.
- 1:08:24Again that random sort of off the cuff, unplanned.
- 1:08:30Ritual, so where our inspiration comes from, you know, inspiring
- 1:08:36our communities. I like to think that it can come
- 1:08:39at the most randomest of times and talking about it sharing.
- 1:08:45It doesn't, it's not a bad thing.
- 1:08:48No, you know, we can, we can genuinely maybe Inspire others
- 1:08:53to just realize that this is real.
- 1:08:55This is, at least it was real for a must for me, in the
- 1:08:57moment. You know.
- 1:08:58I'm not saying that. Well, if you do this, that thing
- 1:08:59in the other, you're going to get the same results as me, or
- 1:09:02none of us are doing that. I feel like, you know, we're not
- 1:09:04saying that our experience is the experience that you should
- 1:09:07expect for your experience. But I think that our experiences
- 1:09:13can be a form of inspiration as well.
- 1:09:15And maybe give people the feel-good endorphins to pursue
- 1:09:23and do things of their own, you know, it's a portal, really?
- 1:09:27Sorry. It's a to provide and yourself
- 1:09:32the opportunity to have those moments while they may or may
- 1:09:35not happen. It's important to give yourself
- 1:09:38that that chance. Yeah.
- 1:09:40Because you're not going to be able to have that moment unless
- 1:09:44you give yourself the opportunity and who knows?
- 1:09:47Maybe after you have all this watching this video and you know
- 1:09:49what, all right, I'm gonna pause stop the route Setter.
- 1:09:53Oh, you know what, I'm gonna go for that nature, walk Barefoot
- 1:09:56but you know what? I'm going to purchase that
- 1:09:57drawback of Maine to get All takes us that little boost a
- 1:10:02little. Hey, you know, what do it, you
- 1:10:05live, what's you know that one little spark and that's what
- 1:10:09that's what inspiration is and inspiration is the spark.
- 1:10:14That ignites the fire because the fire continues, then carried
- 1:10:18on by something else and then it's carried on by something
- 1:10:21else and it continues, its that torch, it's that can cause you
- 1:10:25know that that that Illuminating sort of Beacon when you trade up
- 1:10:31towards the Heart of Darkness, you're going to be that Beacon
- 1:10:34of Hope and that's what again, check myself.
- 1:10:37But I know I need to practice the ego.
- 1:10:40Be part of my ego, is this, you know what?
- 1:10:42It's great to feel. Feel to be that source of
- 1:10:46inspiration. Whether it just be for like five
- 1:10:49people or 800, people or thousands of people, you know,
- 1:10:54put on yeah. Even just one person exactly it.
- 1:10:59That's, that's all that really matters and that's also like
- 1:11:02we're saying releases intentions don't intend.
- 1:11:06To say, oh, I'm gonna get a bunch of people, a phone my
- 1:11:08butt, and we're just going to be the most spectacular thing on
- 1:11:11the Block as like, no, no, no, no.
- 1:11:13I'll be humble and be grounded when practicing or, you know,
- 1:11:18doing something like that because you don't want to set
- 1:11:20the bar too high and then pulled out what ways might know you're
- 1:11:24overlooking the whole experience then you gotta come at it like
- 1:11:28but that's the thing that was like people will do what they do
- 1:11:31but like I believe that it's important to, you know, carry
- 1:11:34your intentions and go. the way like, you know what, if it
- 1:11:38doesn't work out, hey, I tried, you know, it's just like like
- 1:11:42you're trying to find a date or you're trying to plan something
- 1:11:47like a bachelor party for your friend or an assignment that
- 1:11:53you're working on in college or the the situation scenarios can
- 1:11:58vary tremendously but you know yes this have a back-up plan, it
- 1:12:03just now if it doesn't work out, you know, if there's always Next
- 1:12:06time. But that doesn't well, I was
- 1:12:09like to think that it has to do with our.
- 1:12:11Yeah. I always like to think that has
- 1:12:12to do with the ear, you know, again, intention frame of mind.
- 1:12:16I forget, which it's a, it's a line from one of the one of the
- 1:12:20Icelandic sagas I believe. But it's I think it's go
- 1:12:22something on the lines of like the Bold succeed where so ever
- 1:12:24they go, you know, be bold. Yeah.
- 1:12:30And that's the thing about it is, you know, especially I think
- 1:12:33in Heathen re is so much of this.
- 1:12:40I don't know. What do you call it?
- 1:12:41Like, the, the brochure true types, like the Macho.
- 1:12:45I'm the Viking. This, whatever that.
- 1:12:47No. Yeah, you know, there that's,
- 1:12:49that's cartoony. That that's Looney Tunes.
- 1:12:51Right? That not what we're talking
- 1:12:53about. How about being?
- 1:12:54We're talking about being bold, we're talking about being can,
- 1:12:58you know, remaining steadfast in our convictions and that's what
- 1:13:03that's what I'm talking about when I say like the be bold and
- 1:13:06you will succeed, don't be a jerk, you know, don't be
- 1:13:10insensitive and don't don't be So, so absorbed in yourself that
- 1:13:17you don't realize what purpose, you actually should be serving,
- 1:13:21you know, but be bold about it and be convicted in what we're
- 1:13:24doing and the genuine nature of it all is going to, you know,
- 1:13:29we're kind recognizes kind. You're going to see the types of
- 1:13:32people who are doing this for the right reasons.
- 1:13:36And you're going to link with them and you're going to line
- 1:13:38with that more. So, you know, I think that
- 1:13:41that's why folks like you and pop all of sin and Eric and
- 1:13:45others. You know, that's why we've
- 1:13:47connected in the way we have is because we stand on their
- 1:13:50children, understand that similar intentions of what we're
- 1:13:54trying to do. And that's also, I also not take
- 1:13:57away from what you're saying, but also to add is I also feel
- 1:14:00like it's necessary. Yeah, that important to have the
- 1:14:04the outside, the Spectrum. Like, it's like there's one what
- 1:14:09time are few times I share with you.
- 1:14:10There's this one gentleman who has this little Tick Tock page
- 1:14:15and like he so Frost REO all the things you're talking about.
- 1:14:19Like this guy straight up head, like his eyes are painted, like
- 1:14:23Robin from Batman Robin. And he had this like this whole
- 1:14:26Viking, get up like the whole armor and then playing rap in
- 1:14:30the background. Like big, hey, but you'd like to
- 1:14:34spock out there alone, like share, share, share at this
- 1:14:37really going above and beyond like being absurd, obnoxious.
- 1:14:41And just like, you know, saying he's a viking and all that crap
- 1:14:44might no, no, no, no damn it. No, that's not.
- 1:14:48No. Yeah, that's okay.
- 1:14:50It's it's nice to have a point of reference as to what to
- 1:14:53followed by but also to what not to practice, you know?
- 1:14:58It's just that's what's beautiful about the world that
- 1:15:01we live in and And necessary as well, you know, it's kind of
- 1:15:04like, but the Personalities in general, you know, there's going
- 1:15:07to be no. Yeah, by putting people you just
- 1:15:10can't stand to have shirts Mutual in a lot of cases but and
- 1:15:14that's kind of thing about like our path in our practice.
- 1:15:16It's act like a support week, you discuss not discuss.
- 1:15:20As you know, I've will take pride in knowing that I love and
- 1:15:24appreciate most beliefs and practices as long as they carry,
- 1:15:28you know, the intentions and knowing this not going to hurt
- 1:15:31anyone. Between consenting people, it's
- 1:15:34not forced upon them. That's cool.
- 1:15:37You know, if you find praise and great Tidings and awesome
- 1:15:42moments with Jesus or Buddha or whatever you decide to believe
- 1:15:46it. Kickass Rock Roll, I'll be right
- 1:15:48behind you like hey you know what, cool, I support what you
- 1:15:51do. I mean, I've practiced what you
- 1:15:53do, but I think that's special if it helps people keep doing
- 1:15:56it, you know? But there are past practices
- 1:16:00that I will not abide by when Not fall for the obvious of
- 1:16:03reasons. But yeah, crazy people who will
- 1:16:06support that. You know, you thought the Branch
- 1:16:08Davidians, who did all that crazy stuff have like a Muslim
- 1:16:13extremists and I'm just using examples here.
- 1:16:15I'm not trying to yes, those, right.
- 1:16:18Right down to say there's this example.
- 1:16:20Oh yeah, there's there's there's that apples in every bunch, you
- 1:16:23know. But also that goes into you'll
- 1:16:24not be too egocentric and also knowing that you know, not
- 1:16:28abusing that that power the you could possess one day in the
- 1:16:31future, you know? Who knows?
- 1:16:32Jessie maybe like five years from now, you could have a giant
- 1:16:36platform. It just find yourself in
- 1:16:38position to really use the tier advantage in a lot of bad ways
- 1:16:42but you just you know they don't pick our Mazda also.
- 1:16:48This is kind of like random but also appropriate it sells on
- 1:16:52Tick Tock and I watch the video. I'm going to share with you
- 1:16:55after this explaining, you know, The purpose of Q going to Mugen
- 1:17:02for Odin and it's not word for word obviously.
- 1:17:05But you know, it's just what really hit me is this, you know,
- 1:17:09those are owns Ravens going about, you know, checking out
- 1:17:13all of us and see what we do, will were given.
- 1:17:17And there were times that I was giving something special and I
- 1:17:22might have botched that opportunity and it really makes
- 1:17:25you really consider that when you have that opportunity.
- 1:17:29And again to see something special, you know, to go about
- 1:17:32it in a different way, they can know what I got a little too
- 1:17:35selfish that time or, you know what, I got a little to those
- 1:17:39who comment or maybe I wasn't confident enough.
- 1:17:42I should have seized that opportunity.
- 1:17:43Like, oh, that cute. Girl, at the restaurant, I
- 1:17:46should have asked for her number or you know what that race?
- 1:17:49I was afraid to ask for, I should have asked for inactive,
- 1:17:51it could be applied to various ways, but also I think that's, I
- 1:17:55think that's proper though to have that figure in our lives.
- 1:17:59Vic. Hey, is he really utilizing what
- 1:18:00he's given? If he's not then he can't get
- 1:18:04upset or pissed off too much without making the necessary
- 1:18:07changes to, you know, make that happen.
- 1:18:09You can't, you can't wake up every day in a bad mood, expect
- 1:18:13for a good day. You're just setting yourself up
- 1:18:15for failure. You gotta wake up with the best
- 1:18:17of intentions and Outlook and that's what's tricky though.
- 1:18:21There are days where I wake up. Again, know what I do.
- 1:18:24Positive affirmations, a lot. Like you know what?
- 1:18:26It's gonna be a good day. And man I'll tell you what the
- 1:18:30world's like oh really now. Oh you think so huh?
- 1:18:36Here you go. That's so yeah.
- 1:18:40Right. Salsify don't be discouraged if
- 1:18:44you have a bad day or two or shriek about days, guess what?
- 1:18:48That's badass day, Cults. It's going to be all the more
- 1:18:51special and that kind of ties in towards discussing earlier is
- 1:18:54moderation. You know, if you abstain from
- 1:18:59doing, you know, whether it be wacky tabacky or you know,
- 1:19:04certain positions you really love to hear listen to or your
- 1:19:07special beverage see, like to partake of every not going when
- 1:19:10you have stayed and you go back to it after were like, oh man,
- 1:19:13yes this is cool to Savers right, what's the next?
- 1:19:17It all the more meaningful and all the more you know special.
- 1:19:22yeah, the Man, there's so many things that I was thinking about
- 1:19:27when you were talking that I'm like, I'm going to come back to
- 1:19:29this. I want to come back to that.
- 1:19:31I'm gonna come back. Sort of, but she's going to get
- 1:19:37off this bike should talk about this, but I think like one of
- 1:19:43the, one of the first things that comes to mind is, is gone
- 1:19:46back to a little while ago, where you're talking about
- 1:19:48people's beliefs and who they believe in and, you know, as you
- 1:19:52know I'll be right there, kind of behind you to back you up
- 1:19:54that sort of thing. I you know I remember this,
- 1:19:59what's this one episode of Little House on the Prairie.
- 1:20:03And I shared a clip of it on my social media one time because my
- 1:20:06wife sent it to me, because I was going through some stuff
- 1:20:09with with kind of, like, my side of the family, or whatever.
- 1:20:13And it was a clip where, you know, Michael Landon was, was,
- 1:20:18was PAW, you know, and the Angels were the Little girls
- 1:20:22little are and whoever Ingalls Wilder.
- 1:20:24So the the line was like this, I forget which which of the
- 1:20:29daughters? It was met them.
- 1:20:30It may been one of the daughters was talking about the indigenous
- 1:20:33people of the country, all right?
- 1:20:36So the native indigenous folks talking about how they're,
- 1:20:40they're all bunch of heathens, you know?
- 1:20:43And, and, and Michael Landon's response was, you know, they may
- 1:20:47not worship God the same way we do.
- 1:20:51Or read the same Bible but they are all his children just the
- 1:20:55same. Exactly.
- 1:20:58And you can put that phrase over any, you can layer that phrase
- 1:21:04over any religious. Outlook that you have, you can
- 1:21:11you can look at your higher Powers, right?
- 1:21:13You can look at your sacred deities, whether they be the
- 1:21:17Norse gods, the Celtic gods, the Romans the Greeks, the
- 1:21:22Indo-European, the yeah whatever.
- 1:21:25I mean it you know a labels just a label.
- 1:21:28You can put that phrase over anything and the sentiment the
- 1:21:33spirit of that phrase. I think just still resonates.
- 1:21:35It's you know they may not do it the same way we do it.
- 1:21:37But they are all part of that creation.
- 1:21:41They are all part of his, you know, greater plan, whatever.
- 1:21:43And but you know, At the end of the day, what are we doing
- 1:21:50locally? What are we doing here to
- 1:21:52inspire communities is talk about stuff like this?
- 1:21:54Is that it doesn't really matter.
- 1:21:58We have these local meetups and and events and stuff in our area
- 1:22:02and I see some people commenting.
- 1:22:03Wow. That sounds pretty Norse.
- 1:22:06Are all paths, welcome and II see those things.
- 1:22:11Exactly of course right we would say that we would think that but
- 1:22:15for someone to ask that question tells me that in the past they
- 1:22:19have had an experience that has made them.
- 1:22:22Not feel. Welcome.
- 1:22:24Exactly. Right.
- 1:22:24You know, I think a lot of that might have to do with previous
- 1:22:28beliefs. I'm not greet.
- 1:22:30Ya could be previous beliefs or it could just be that they may
- 1:22:34be had. Association with a grouper or or
- 1:22:38person at one point in time that made them feel like there were
- 1:22:43very hard lines between what was accepted and what wasn't, you
- 1:22:48know, and that sorry. It's that kind of what really
- 1:22:53goes back into the Highland thing is it was familiar with
- 1:22:58the introduction of the out, the ceremonies like, you know, We
- 1:23:02are all Brothers all people and those words resonate with me
- 1:23:07very closely and I think that's what makes them very special.
- 1:23:10And another point of bringing up shortly after is about one of
- 1:23:12your things that you say in your podcast, though is just, you
- 1:23:15know, Modern humans and modern times, you know, we're not
- 1:23:20living back in the early days, you know, when vikings were real
- 1:23:25thing and all that, you know, sis, we're not condemning
- 1:23:29Christians or Catholics because of what they did or, you know,
- 1:23:34hangout people who had like, people who like had ancestors or
- 1:23:38slave owners like, does that make us slave?
- 1:23:40Owners know, right? Catholics and Christians, I
- 1:23:43condemn pagans know. If we should agree that Grudge,
- 1:23:48we should be all right. These are Nu times, Dux options,
- 1:23:52new days. We need to be a more Broad and
- 1:23:55accept again. Again, each person dances to the
- 1:24:00tune of their own special song. But for what I'm seeing is
- 1:24:03believing, I believe that, you know, we should all except Joe
- 1:24:07now. Sure, we'd all fall each other.
- 1:24:09That would be very confusing. Very disordered.
- 1:24:11Yeah. Yes, it's important like, you
- 1:24:14were mentioning You know. It's just the have that proper
- 1:24:20intentions and knowing that they're coming from a place of
- 1:24:22love and concern right on you may not agree with it but let
- 1:24:27them do their own thing. Don't crush supplement, make
- 1:24:29someone feel special unless it's hurting someone or yeah, causing
- 1:24:33some very unnecessary drama or whatever the hell, you know.
- 1:24:36Yes. I mean it's like, you know, look
- 1:24:38like yes. Are there certain things that
- 1:24:40are just are a certain way? Yes, and that's where a lot of
- 1:24:44people in this think. Especially in today's day and
- 1:24:47age. people get offended when Unequivocal truth is shared,
- 1:25:00they're like well, you know, that doesn't align with my
- 1:25:03personal feelings. Well it doesn't have to and it's
- 1:25:05not supposed to and you're nothing special to think that it
- 1:25:08should be. Other other than that, whether
- 1:25:29it's, you know, cultural or Regional or Traditions, that
- 1:25:33that kind of aligned with a certain practice on things like
- 1:25:36I'm I got a I got a comment on a video not all that long ago.
- 1:25:40In this this this also kind of ties into just how we can be
- 1:25:44inspiring to people you know, watching what we say, being
- 1:25:48careful of how we say it. Because people see everything
- 1:25:51that us as content creators and and whatnot.
- 1:25:55Share. You know, you're going to go
- 1:25:58tell me that something that I was doing on a video was was
- 1:26:02cultural appropriation because sweat lodges was not a Norse
- 1:26:07thing and right. So but yeah, I guess, but the
- 1:26:13point is, that, no sweat lodges actually existed in Finland.
- 1:26:20You know, I mean, like, there is actual evidence if you want to
- 1:26:23and there will be people that say that well, Finland, or Part
- 1:26:26of the Nordic people's, they are not Nordic people there, they're
- 1:26:31in, do some Indo-European, they're not they're not, you
- 1:26:35know, semantics at that point, I'm not going to get into them,
- 1:26:37not going to get into the semantics of it.
- 1:26:39But the point was is that they were saying this is cultural
- 1:26:43appropriation, because you're sweating in a you're doing a
- 1:26:46sweat lodge and I go number one, do you know the the tribe that
- 1:26:52the person who I was doing this with is affiliated with who
- 1:26:55their ancestors? Our number one, number two, do
- 1:26:57you know, the the nation, the, the indigenous nation, that that
- 1:27:01I am affiliated with? And do you know who my answer
- 1:27:04is? Our ancestors, are all of which,
- 1:27:06you know, the answers are. No, and no, and hell, no, you
- 1:27:10know, because how would they rhyme?
- 1:27:12But yet, they'll just, you know, people just go out there and
- 1:27:15just fire away at stuff and, you know, make these outrageous
- 1:27:19claims like, you know, you're doing all these things that it's
- 1:27:22cultural appropriation, well, based off of what?
- 1:27:24I'm not, I'm not appropriating any culture if anything.
- 1:27:26Living the culture that is tied to my ancestry.
- 1:27:31So let me be in. You find a nice hobby that makes
- 1:27:36you happy and quit trying to tear people down for finding the
- 1:27:41same for themselves. You know, actually, I only talk
- 1:27:46to yourself something very important, the emotion in her
- 1:27:48previous video, if you don't mind, be discussing his
- 1:27:51pressure. When you're trying to Build
- 1:27:54Frisch's with some family members that may not exactly
- 1:27:58agree with their, your life choices.
- 1:28:02You know, it's to guard your Hall so to speak.
- 1:28:07But make sure your phrase that you use the previous stream
- 1:28:10though is this, you know? I'm all about accepting various
- 1:28:14walks of life and do what you want to do.
- 1:28:17But there are going to be people that just want to have nothing
- 1:28:21to do with you. You could come in with the best
- 1:28:25of intentions and the pure so heart but sometimes they're just
- 1:28:32so people you can't reach no matter how much you love them or
- 1:28:35how about you want to say goodbye them, it just won't work
- 1:28:38out and that's okay, you know, it sucks.
- 1:28:42But it's important to realize that when they're trying to win
- 1:28:46about this, clearly not of value to be undertaken.
- 1:28:49This is Yes, you got to know it's like Kenny Rogers said,
- 1:28:54man, you gotta know when to hold them.
- 1:28:56Now we've got em know when to fold em, you know, and there's
- 1:29:04that, you know. Yeah, to your point.
- 1:29:10That was it that was it. That was a situation where I
- 1:29:12learned that this was a hand that I had to fold.
- 1:29:17You know, but it's also very Noble of you specifically
- 1:29:21mentioning to that point of view to, you know, bury the hatchet
- 1:29:25and some respects. And I'm not asking you to get
- 1:29:27too specific and to the deals that you are.
- 1:29:31Yeah. But you know I'm just saying
- 1:29:34what I heard that podcast? Yes, it really reached very
- 1:29:37close to home. It's like, you know, for the
- 1:29:39very beginning of my attack. As you know, specifically is
- 1:29:43like, you know, I'll be very I want to say the word scared, but
- 1:29:47I'm very hesitant of sharing guarded things to my timeline
- 1:29:53but artists right, I'll retired, I've come to the point now.
- 1:29:57But, you know what? This path has helped me
- 1:30:02tremendously, mentally and spiritually, and just in every
- 1:30:07aspect that I even imagined being touched and it was a, you
- 1:30:11know what? My family can't handle it.
- 1:30:16Sorry. Not sorry.
- 1:30:18You know, I mean, I can't expect everybody to be open-minded
- 1:30:21like, my father and my mother, and they're not.
- 1:30:23Yeah, not everybody is, that's something I'm very grateful for
- 1:30:27to this day, especially He flipped, but you've dealt with
- 1:30:30like I just thinking about my father and my mother and my
- 1:30:32brother just they all. Do they follow heathenism?
- 1:30:36Absolutely. Not will damage future.
- 1:30:37Absolutely not if they did, my jaw is on the floor, but on.
- 1:30:44But yeah, it's just that's the thing though is I will add to
- 1:30:49reciprocate that. Also, a my Catholic know, am I
- 1:30:53going from the Catholic again? Probably not, you know, future
- 1:30:56is a crazy thing. No one knows anything but I'm
- 1:30:59pretty fucking sorry, pretty great that that's not going to
- 1:31:03happen but it's just that kind of feel full thing that we
- 1:31:07share, what some people, some may not.
- 1:31:10This is the have that Mutual understanding and I think that's
- 1:31:14one of the beautiful things about Who we are, what we are as
- 1:31:18human since I had that to be capable of that experience.
- 1:31:22And I feel like, right? So we could also put into
- 1:31:24practice and because I am very guilty about to, you know, like
- 1:31:28sometimes I hear someone saying something.
- 1:31:29I don't agree with my chi, you're full of crap.
- 1:31:31I'll get the heck out of here, but then sometimes I'm like, you
- 1:31:35know what? This really helps that person
- 1:31:38that's really cool. It's taken from a different
- 1:31:40approach. Flip the script.
- 1:31:41Like, you know what, I don't agree with that but that's
- 1:31:43really cool that, you know, there's fired to do.
- 1:31:46Something I'd never done before you know whether it be starting
- 1:31:49a business or any other thing that you could even think of no.
- 1:31:54Yeah and and and that was a big that was a big thing for me.
- 1:31:58It was you know just because I don't agree. and just because
- 1:32:02I'm a, Be convicted and or have a conviction to think.
- 1:32:08Look, I don't think what you're doing is right.
- 1:32:11And I have to tell you why, I don't think what you're doing is
- 1:32:15right. But do I do we do you really
- 1:32:19have to tell people that into end and what the thing that I
- 1:32:22learned was that especially with what I was facing was, you know,
- 1:32:27I violated one of the very cardinal Rules.
- 1:32:32I don't have to, you know, not Cardinals.
- 1:32:34I get it, okay, it's a terminology.
- 1:32:36I'm just saying, you know, it wasn't that serious but I'm
- 1:32:39saying, like, I violated one of the very things that I stand.
- 1:32:44Very staunch Ali Bhai. And that is, you know, Hearth
- 1:32:48home, everyone's hearts and homes, their separate homes is
- 1:32:54sacred and its Sovereign, right? And it's not to be infringed
- 1:32:57upon by anybody. And I did that one thing without
- 1:33:04even realizing without even realizing it in the moment.
- 1:33:07But 2020, you know, hindsight being 20/20.
- 1:33:12I realize that. Yeah, I sure shit did.
- 1:33:16I broke my own Rule and I confronted My Tribe about that
- 1:33:19and I said, look, guys, you know, I mean, I didn't realize
- 1:33:22it at the time but I broke the very thing that I said, I would
- 1:33:26swore to You know, defend and uphold.
- 1:33:30And that was a moment of a harsh lesson.
- 1:33:36You know, to be learned and but a lesson was learned and that's
- 1:33:40that's what it is about. You know, that that's that's
- 1:33:45part of inspiration to is is being adult enough and being
- 1:33:50aware enough, it doesn't even necessarily maturity maturity.
- 1:33:53Probably does have a lot to do with that.
- 1:33:54I would say because there's plenty of people that are are,
- 1:33:57like, just bold-faced given the facts and they're like, nah, you
- 1:34:02know, because they're young and dumb and full of, you know what?
- 1:34:05Yeah, they, you know, they don't want to hear it.
- 1:34:08We've all been there. I mean, that's, that's, that's
- 1:34:10nothing new. So, yeah, there was a There's a
- 1:34:12level of maturity to realize not just realize it, but accept it.
- 1:34:19And and and realize that, hey, I'm out here talking about all
- 1:34:22kinds of stuff that a lot of people would agree with and when
- 1:34:26I mess up, when I make a mistake, I am. willing to accept
- 1:34:33it when I've been faced with that, you know what I mean, and
- 1:34:39go about the steps of making that corrective action to not
- 1:34:42make that the same mistake twice, you know, maybe what did
- 1:34:48Michael Scott say? He said fool me once shame on
- 1:34:53me, but fool me twice, strike three or something like that
- 1:34:58easily, like a dumb, I'm not superstitious but I'm a little
- 1:35:02stiff. People.
- 1:35:05I don't want people to love me to fear me.
- 1:35:08I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.
- 1:35:15But yeah. All right.
- 1:35:18Yeah, we just went off into the office.
- 1:35:22But, yeah. Hey, you know what random So
- 1:35:25Random. Could you give me just a few
- 1:35:28moments? I got to step off the camera.
- 1:35:30Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna, I'm a filibuster for
- 1:35:33those that don't realize, What filibuster means filibuster was
- 1:35:37a term. You can do your thing.
- 1:35:38I'm going to find out later because filibuster, you know,
- 1:35:42all those people that wanted Patrick.
- 1:35:45So enthralled and enthused about what filibuster means that he's
- 1:35:48willing to sacrifice his off-camera.
- 1:35:51Time to know what filibuster means will, filibuster is, is
- 1:35:56just filling in the Gap, so you gotta, you gotta fill in, fill
- 1:35:59in the gaps and do stuff that talks about.
- 1:36:05Anything. So for those that are willing to
- 1:36:07hear about a thing, this this podcast episode is being aired
- 1:36:11the weekend of the Feast of femoral tear here in
- 1:36:15Murfreesboro Tennessee. So the case in Trailhead Park
- 1:36:21and we're looking at some really nice weather this weekend.
- 1:36:23My go, the old is going to team up with Greg Strong, the
- 1:36:28chieftain a raven, Moon hearth And those two guys are going to
- 1:36:32be kind of leading this lesson about Odin.
- 1:36:35I'm being told that there's going to be some sort of ritual
- 1:36:38thing. It's a potluck sort of event.
- 1:36:40So the event details will be in the description and in the show
- 1:36:43notes of this podcast. So definitely be sure to check
- 1:36:48that out. If you're in the area, want to
- 1:36:49come down for that. That's just literally here in a
- 1:36:51couple of days and then the following weekend which is the
- 1:36:54weekend 12th, 13th and 14th. Of May is feasts of the Fallen,
- 1:37:01my wife and I will be there. Like I like for everybody that's
- 1:37:09that's you know listen and stuff up to this past week, you know
- 1:37:13my father just passed away and May 13th is his birth date.
- 1:37:19So I will be doing, you know, I will be vending doing Rune
- 1:37:24readings camping and partaking in ritual for feast of the fall
- 1:37:29and with Raven Moon Hearth on on my father's birthday.
- 1:37:33So, That's going to be an interesting experience.
- 1:37:39I I'm doing the best that I can to kind of mentally prepare for
- 1:37:44that, but, you know, having never gone through anything,
- 1:37:49quite like this to know what to expect would be.
- 1:37:53Would be, would be unfair to say.
- 1:37:56So, and here he is, here, he is, he's a man, that's the thing
- 1:38:05about nature, you know, the sea is always, right.
- 1:38:12The the forest is always right, the river is always right.
- 1:38:15The mountains are always right nature.
- 1:38:19Is always right? There's no law.
- 1:38:25Now, you know, talked about that a bit last week to because of
- 1:38:30the the inner outer Dynamic, you know. yeah, I I don't know.
- 1:38:40I feel I feel like so much of what we can talk about in this
- 1:38:45episode and when I re-watch it and when people come back and
- 1:38:49watch this, there's going to be things that that pop back up at
- 1:38:53different points in time for different people.
- 1:38:55You and I included that are going to further Inspire us and
- 1:39:01continue to hopefully Inspire others.
- 1:39:03You know, it's a, it's kind of one of those things where,
- 1:39:07again, I was looking back on memories today.
- 1:39:09I'm like, wow, that thing was inspiring to me or to someone,
- 1:39:13you know, years ago. And then I think about it, a
- 1:39:15random thought Pops in my head. And I look back and I say, yeah,
- 1:39:17that was that's a now, it's inspiring to me again.
- 1:39:23The kind of topic 82 touches on that continue continuity.
- 1:39:28Of the flame, you know, that that spark that ignites that
- 1:39:32illuminates. That is carried that that goes
- 1:39:36on and on and on. I think I have something else
- 1:39:41thinking I was out not say we're towards the amethyst qasimi if
- 1:39:46we are we are but something I'd like for everyone to do who's
- 1:39:48watching something to you know do At the end of this podcast,
- 1:39:55when the opportunity presents itself, a note, someone there
- 1:40:00might have been someone in your mind right now that has inspired
- 1:40:04you tremendously. Now, if that person is still
- 1:40:07alive, I say, take this opportunity to let them know
- 1:40:13that, you know, I think you would go a long ways.
- 1:40:17Now, if that person has passed, hey, you know what?
- 1:40:20A lot of candle Sit by the again.
- 1:40:22I'll make you know what? Thank you, for example, me, my
- 1:40:26grandmother or my, can I bar, thank you.
- 1:40:30I bar for being a reason to know the each day.
- 1:40:35Here's a blessing. Whether it be simple, as you
- 1:40:38know, waking up and be able to face the day.
- 1:40:43We're just having a companion at the time.
- 1:40:45Who love me for me and something else rather than food?
- 1:40:51And yeah, you know what cats do? But seriously though take this
- 1:40:58time or would like I said, well that moment presents itself to
- 1:41:02let them know. We're getting be a boss that his
- 1:41:05going through really crappy time right now.
- 1:41:07There's just a twit sang and he see the stress night.
- 1:41:11Hey, you know what? That change him in the office is
- 1:41:14really cool or hey, you know what, bad haircut?
- 1:41:18Looks pretty spiffy anything just as long It's meaningful and
- 1:41:25you know, carry something special I did that it really can
- 1:41:28go a long way because you'd be amazed what something so simple.
- 1:41:33As kind of gestures can do and also like we're mentioning get
- 1:41:36we had to give it credit to each other at this entire podcast and
- 1:41:40I can't be more thankful enough to have stumbled across, make
- 1:41:45our musings and just to have this opportunity even now.
- 1:41:50To be talking to all you you know well this video get like a
- 1:41:54thousand likes or whatever. Who knows why people hate on,
- 1:41:59what I appreciate what these guys were doing, you know?
- 1:42:03That's that's awesome. That's really cool and find it
- 1:42:06very special and that's also one of the many things that I love
- 1:42:10about these guys that I follow especially High long, you know,
- 1:42:13Isis. Again, creating opportunities
- 1:42:16meaningful experiences and meaningful friendships, who
- 1:42:19knows? You know you might stumble
- 1:42:20across a person in the comment section, I Ki approved.
- 1:42:24You said man this guy's right, you know, you guys have to come
- 1:42:26friends. Who knows?
- 1:42:28YouTube is an amazing platform record, while Ron that's how big
- 1:42:31is. That's where I had a lot of
- 1:42:34meaningful interactions as YouTube.
- 1:42:36Not so much with the what is it Spotify?
- 1:42:41Because they don't really have found in sections, which I like
- 1:42:43is I said you Barry. Caramel to a lot of Engagement
- 1:42:46and not because because like you know when you don't have a
- 1:42:48conversation here I go. Alright.
- 1:42:53Yeah. Well, at the end of every of at
- 1:42:57the end of all my episodes are in all of my episodes on
- 1:43:01Spotify, there's always an area for you to answer a question and
- 1:43:07it might be just, you know, what did you think of this podcast?
- 1:43:09Or it might be something a bit more specific related to the
- 1:43:13topics of the podcast, you know, sir for those that do.

- 1:44:03podcast, you can remain anonymous.
- 1:44:05You know, that's another big thing that I'm about is a lot of
- 1:44:07people may want to say something and they just don't want to have
- 1:44:11their name or anything attached to it.
- 1:44:12You don't have to say who you are.
- 1:44:14You can just you can make up a name and your voice can be can
- 1:44:19be shared on the podcast. I would love to hear what
- 1:44:22people's thoughts are, what people's reactions are.
- 1:44:24I would love to just share that. I would love that to be a
- 1:44:26feature on the podcast where people, hey, you know, we have a
- 1:44:29segment member how those old like, I don't know Patrick, if
- 1:44:31you remember if I'm like, you know, radio shows and stuff back
- 1:44:36in the day. You know, they would have these
- 1:44:37like segments where you know, callers would call in and they
- 1:44:40would have voicemails or something left questions.
- 1:44:43And the host of the show would would answer those questions and
- 1:44:45stuff and that's, you know, that's what I always plug, you
- 1:44:49know, that's what I would love to hear.
- 1:44:50People have ideas topics, Just Thoughts, comments, whatever,
- 1:44:53you know, if you want to hear something on the podcast, you
- 1:44:55want to have a rap about it or have us talk about it, you know.
- 1:45:00Let us know who knows, maybe after, so many types of living
- 1:45:03an anonymous tip that you're finally built enough confidence
- 1:45:07to feature yourself as a person. Hey, you know what to anyone who
- 1:45:12is thinking, man, I do not want my voice heard or my name given
- 1:45:16hey, and they're done that for longest time, but I know capture
- 1:45:21of social anxiety. I'm like, you know what?
- 1:45:23This is Patrick, this is me here, my hands.
- 1:45:25You know what? Oh, all that know, screw it.
- 1:45:29Here's my yeah, I'm damn proud of it, too, because, you know
- 1:45:34how many of you guys get to say? Oh, here's your shoe, your job,
- 1:45:37then here we are. You are pretty dexterous with
- 1:45:41those member. We were walking along the
- 1:45:42greenway in those. Those those giant.
- 1:45:45I'll be have Edge apples. Those hedge apples hedge apples.
- 1:45:49People in the South know, what hedge apples are.
- 1:45:51Yeah, they're like the size of softballs.
- 1:45:53And he's over here, he's over here like freaking like George
- 1:45:57of the Jungle just Just chucking them with his foot and I'm
- 1:46:01likely this guy. I can't do that, you know, I'll
- 1:46:05do worry. If I drop the soap I'll just say
- 1:46:07that you got that part figured out that live but yeah.
- 1:46:29The group that Jesse will beat also linked to the high load,
- 1:46:32spiritual mental, health Community, but also have
- 1:46:35available on Facebook. And I recently just free.
- 1:46:40Download it Instagram. I usually use Instagram for a.
- 1:46:46I followed another page, completely unrelated to this,
- 1:46:48but it's out The Sopranos group, as Jesse knows, that I'm a very
- 1:46:52young sad and Scott Porter, but if you want to reach out to Me,

- 1:47:29It's the last why we're getting creative, my group and to having
- 1:47:32you know, Raffles or contest. You know, it's only going to get
- 1:47:36better. I was talking flip-flop this all
- 1:47:38the time like you know what we first started this life things
- 1:47:41on my group. He's like you know right now
- 1:47:44we're just messing around but eventually it's going to grow
- 1:47:47and mature a lot like Jesse's channel from back in the early
- 1:47:50days were like you're like when you're from the first video I
- 1:47:53saw you have this you know, white background with like a
- 1:47:56staff here and like the sound was like really You know a ten
- 1:47:59terrible it was. Yeah, I'm super critical of
- 1:48:05myself, dude. Look, my ego is not so big where
- 1:48:07I can't say what when my own content I'm like why did anybody
- 1:48:11subscribe to me back then? It sounds like I'm talking to a
- 1:48:17sounds like I'm talking to a Dixie cup, you know, but that's
- 1:48:21what he know. We got the right followers,
- 1:48:22though, who look past all that. They're learning for.
- 1:48:26Yeah, that's the stage that my group is in right now.
- 1:48:29And that also makes me humble and appreciate you from the very
- 1:48:34start of what you're doing. I'm like, I even saw that too.
- 1:48:37When I first watched your video, He's doing his thing to note
- 1:48:42that the first key or how to perform a basic Heathen ritual
- 1:48:47opposed to that link a few times.
- 1:48:49But I say share away because you know, I've watched a lot
- 1:48:53tutorials and they getting of my journey.
- 1:48:56A lot of them, participatory either in Practical hard to
- 1:48:58follow or whatever. But just you know if you find
- 1:49:02someone that you could resonate with, I highly suggest that you
- 1:49:05follow. And yeah, anyways I guess be
- 1:49:10really happy to have you guys join my group and just now that,
- 1:49:13you know, you're more than welcome to join and you know,
- 1:49:16would be a very happy to have you here anyways?
- 1:49:19Yeah, yeah. And then that's, you know,
- 1:49:22that's, that's a i echo or whatever your comment there.
- 1:49:26Patrick is just having known you for as long as I have and
- 1:49:32interacted with you in person as well as over the podcast like
- 1:49:36this. You know, this is solid guy
- 1:49:39here, guys. And he's doing it.
- 1:49:42He's doing good stuff. And you know again you never
- 1:49:45know what your what Your interactions might lead to or
- 1:49:53Blossom into, you know, so right now it's the Facebook group, all
- 1:49:57that stuff's going to be linked down below or in the podcast
