- 0:00- This is Scott Becker with the Beckers Health
- 0:02- Care Podcast.
- 0:04- We're gonna discuss this morning
- 0:06- five or six stories that were found in
- 0:08- health care,
- 0:10- and then they give a sense of some
- 0:11- of the things that are happening in health
- 0:13- care. And thank you for listening. First, there's
- 0:16- a story reported by Madeline Sheets, Madeline Ashley
- 0:19- Sheets, on 15 maternity services closures in 2026
- 0:24- so far. This is, of course, a lot
- 0:26- about just not being able to staff these
- 0:27- well and and and a little bit scary
- 0:30- for those communities that will have less maternity
- 0:33- services.
- 0:35- Second, a story by Jacob Emerson about Dignity
- 0:38- Health, bling off a 139
- 0:41- workers across two California hospitals. Again, aside of
- 0:44- the times is sort of you end up
- 0:46- with more and more stress on the finances
- 0:49- of hospitals.
- 0:51- A third story written today by Andrew Kias
- 0:54- talks about how over the last
- 0:56- fifteen years or so,
- 0:58- a 150
- 0:59- rural hospitals have closed and also discusses what
- 1:03- it takes to stay open.
- 1:05- Fourth and fifth, just a couple stories coming
- 1:07- out of Epic.
- 1:09- A story about how Judy Faulkner,
- 1:12- the remarkable CEO and leader of Epic,
- 1:15- has kept Epic best in class for a
- 1:17- sixteenth straight year and the remarkable work that
- 1:19- she's done there. That was authored by Naomi
- 1:22- Diaz at Becker's HealthCare.
- 1:24- And finally, a story about the epic president,
- 1:27- Sumit Rana, stepping down. Again, Epic has had
- 1:30- this
- 1:31- crazily remarkable
- 1:33- run, and these are five of the stories
- 1:35- that we're following today in health care. There's
- 1:37- so much more. We cited service differentials, which
- 1:40- we'll talk about in a separate podcast, three
- 1:42- forty p discussions, which we'll also talk about
- 1:44- in a separate podcast. So so much going
- 1:46- on, but we thought we'd touch on at
- 1:47- least these five this morning for our listeners.
- 1:49- Thank you for listening to the Becker's Healthcare
- 1:51- podcast.
- 1:52- We we love our audience. We are so
- 1:54- thankful for you. God bless you every day.
