- 0:04Speaker 1: There's a lot of chaos early in this season. It's
- 0:07Speaker 1: almost like these first three weeks have been a bona
- 0:09Speaker 1: fide preseason because I don't know who's good, who's decent,
- 0:14Speaker 1: who's lousy. You know, we thought the Seattle Seahawks were
- 0:18Speaker 1: a juggernaut. Then they go on the road, lose to
- 0:20Speaker 1: the commanders. The Raiders are 3-0. Richard, wild, wild storylines
- 0:26Speaker 1: developing the NFL through three weeks. Let's start with your
- 0:30Speaker 1: San Francisco 49ers who improved to 3-0 at home against
- 0:35Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals.
- 0:36Speaker 2: A bit of a shootout here.
- 0:37Speaker 1: 36-30 final. The San Francisco 49ers proved to be victorious. Richard,
- 0:45Speaker 1: what stood out to you in this game with the
- 0:48Speaker 1: San Francisco 49ers coming out on top against the Arizona Cardinals?
- 0:52Speaker 2: It's got to be Brock Purdy to start. Had another
- 0:55Speaker 2: fantastic game. I mean, not fantastic by his standards because
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm sure he would want his completion percentage to be higher.
- 1:01Speaker 2: He was closer to 50% today. He was 15-27, but
- 1:04Speaker 2: for 297 yards, four touchdowns, 133.8 passer rating. He had
- 1:11Speaker 2: two runs for 34 yards. George Kittle. George Kittle had
- 1:14Speaker 2: a fantastic day. He was distributing the ball to everybody.
- 1:18Speaker 2: He was getting it. Jordan Watkins. Jordan Watkins was a
- 1:22Speaker 2: great story of this game. a guy that had a conversation,
- 1:26Speaker 2: a real candid conversation with Kyle Shanahan, wanting to get
- 1:29Speaker 2: more time, trying to figure out how to get on
- 1:31Speaker 2: the field and make an impact. He felt like he
- 1:34Speaker 2: should be in the lineup based on what he's done
- 1:36Speaker 2: on offense, but Kyle Shanahan let him know that fourth
- 1:40Speaker 2: and fifth receiver spot, it's about special teams, and right
- 1:43Speaker 2: now you're not doing enough on special teams. But after
- 1:45Speaker 2: a number of injuries, he finally got an opportunity to
- 1:48Speaker 2: He had two catches for 60 yards, a really huge
- 1:52Speaker 2: catch in this game. Mike Evans continues to be consistent,
- 1:55Speaker 2: but a concern in this game. Goes out with a
- 1:58Speaker 2: rib injury, doesn't return in this game, so we got
- 2:01Speaker 2: to figure out what that is. Trenton Williams goes out.
- 2:04Speaker 2: The injuries, again, starting to mount. Nicholas John Bosa gets
- 2:08Speaker 2: injured before this game even starts. Earlier in the week
- 2:11Speaker 2: has a calf injury, and they are running out of
- 2:14Speaker 2: IR spots to bring back, so they're going to keep
- 2:17Speaker 2: him on the active roster. And that weakens the team
- 2:20Speaker 2: in some regards because it's a spot that you can't feel,
- 2:24Speaker 2: a spot that won't be used. So then it puts
- 2:26Speaker 2: more reps on other guys. It puts guys in tougher positions,
- 2:30Speaker 2: makes you lighter. The options lighter on game day of
- 2:32Speaker 2: who you can pick from. But his team still looks fantastic,
- 2:37Speaker 2: at least offensively. They had a great game. Christian McCaffrey,
- 2:40Speaker 2: 15 carries, 75 yards, a touchdown, four receptions, 41 yards,
- 2:44Speaker 2: continues to be a great A great scorer. Eddie Panero
- 2:48Speaker 2: hits a 57-yarder in this game. Has some odd misses
- 2:52Speaker 2: on some PATs, but he's been under the weather, so
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm sure he'll get that figured out. But the defense,
- 3:01Speaker 2: two sacks in a game. Fred Warner looked great, but
- 3:03Speaker 2: Drake Greenlaw goes out with a quad injury. Another injury.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Diamador Lenore gets a little banged up. Some friendly fire.
- 3:11Speaker 2: But Marquise Siegel. Marquise Siegel is another story line. that
- 3:15Speaker 2: we got to talk about a guy who made some
- 3:17Speaker 2: plays in this game, had some PBUs, but just seems
- 3:19Speaker 2: to be ascending, seems to be figuring it out. A
- 3:23Speaker 2: guy that last year had some really good moments, but
- 3:27Speaker 2: then struggled a bit to the point where they had
- 3:29Speaker 2: to replace him. This year, it looks like he's taking
- 3:31Speaker 2: another step forward. That's been great to see. San Francisco
- 3:36Speaker 2: 49ers look good. Jacoby Brissett threw it 52 times today
- 3:39Speaker 2: for only 280 yards. That's a good game for defense.
- 3:44Speaker 2: If a quarterback throws it 52 times, only has 280 yards,
- 3:48Speaker 2: they were playing some great coverage, a lot of checkdowns,
- 3:51Speaker 2: a lot of easy completions, 11 receptions for Michael Wilson
- 3:57Speaker 2: on 17 targets for only 89 yards. For a defense to,
- 4:01Speaker 2: you know, a guy to get targeted that many times,
- 4:03Speaker 2: you get targeted 17 times and you don't have 100 yards,
- 4:06Speaker 2: that means the defense did a great job. So I
- 4:08Speaker 2: feel like they did a good job. The run game
- 4:11Speaker 2: is something they're going to want to clean up. Obviously,
- 4:14Speaker 2: Jeremiah Love had 21 carries for 90 yards. That's something
- 4:18Speaker 2: they have to work on. They have to get better at.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Special teams-wise, they had the muffed punt that made this
- 4:23Speaker 2: game a lot closer than it had to be, helped
- 4:26Speaker 2: Arizona make this a game late in the game. So obviously,
- 4:30Speaker 2: the San Francisco 49ers know what they have to do
- 4:32Speaker 2: in that regard, but Trent Williams going out of this game,
- 4:35Speaker 2: Mike Evans going out of this game, it's allowing other
- 4:38Speaker 2: guys to step up. But You just hate to keep
- 4:42Speaker 2: seeing it year after year after year with really no explanation.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And I know everybody's like, oh, man, it's the power plant.
- 4:49Speaker 2: It's the substation and all that. But, I mean, it's
- 4:53Speaker 2: hard to argue it right now because it just keeps happening.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But I want to talk about that play, that hook
- 4:59Speaker 2: and ladder, Mitchell. Did you see that play? Did you
- 5:02Speaker 2: both see it? Of course I did, Rude.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Richard Debo Samuel is just back in his natural habitat
- 5:08Speaker 1: with the San Francisco 49ers and to see that creativity
- 5:11Speaker 1: right out of the gate to him to get involved
- 5:13Speaker 1: it looks like the Debo of old what a weapon
- 5:16Speaker 1: I don't know could you did you imagine this when
- 5:18Speaker 1: they re-signed him he would have this much of an
- 5:21Speaker 1: impact on the offense immediately like he is in these
- 5:24Speaker 1: first three games uh you.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You hope for that you hope that It goes back
- 5:29Speaker 2: to the old ways. You know, everything kind of goes
- 5:31Speaker 2: back in place, but you really never know. It's been
- 5:33Speaker 2: a fantastic, probably a fairytale start for this season for
- 5:37Speaker 2: Debo Samuel, for Kyle Shanahan. Offense is scoring a lot
- 5:41Speaker 2: of points. It looks like they're having fun for them
- 5:44Speaker 2: to run a hook and ladder that early in the
- 5:46Speaker 2: game and for it to work to perfection. I think
- 5:49Speaker 2: the last one, I mean, I know there's been a
- 5:50Speaker 2: couple in the NFL with teams trying it, but I
- 5:54Speaker 2: think the last one I remember working that, well, Boise State.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Boise State in a Fiesta Bowl years ago. Mitchell, that's
- 6:00Speaker 2: one of the more iconic hook and ladders that I've
- 6:02Speaker 2: ever seen. But this one has to be right up there.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And they released the tight end to block the corner.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I mean, it was a marvelous play design, marvelous setup,
- 6:14Speaker 2: and marvelous execution. The San Francisco 49ers look fantastic. Brock
- 6:18Speaker 2: Purdy improved, probably improved. He's probably got the best odds
- 6:22Speaker 2: for MVP in the league at this point because of
- 6:24Speaker 2: the game Josh Allen just had. He struggled mightily. versus
- 6:28Speaker 2: the LA Chargers defense. Five turnovers for that offense on
- 6:31Speaker 2: the day. We'll get to that game and talk about it.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But Brock Purdy, right now, probably the league lead for
- 6:38Speaker 2: the MVP. And he deserves it. And he deserves it.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I think Kyle Shanahan feels good. They got a really
- 6:46Speaker 2: tough game coming up against Denver next week. I'm looking
- 6:49Speaker 2: forward to seeing how they compete against that defense, what
- 6:52Speaker 2: they can do against that offense. This is a good team, Mitchell.
- 6:56Speaker 2: This is a good team. And with the Seattle Seahawks
- 6:58Speaker 2: losing to the Commanders, they're number one in the division.
- 7:02Speaker 2: What you going to do? What are you going to do,
- 7:04Speaker 2: San Francisco?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's talk about the number one team on your power ranks.
- 7:08Speaker 1: They take on the Denver Broncos in San Francisco. The
- 7:13Speaker 1: 49ers against the Denver Broncos. Richard Polly Market gives the
- 7:16Speaker 1: Niners a 57% chance to win this game. Denver looked
- 7:20Speaker 1: good on Sunday night. I mean, some would call it
- 7:23Speaker 1: an officiating win, a phantom P.I. call towards the end
- 7:27Speaker 1: of that game, but that defense kept them in it.
- 7:29Speaker 1: The Rams were hot early, up 16 to nothing, and
- 7:32Speaker 1: ultimately Matt Stafford throws a big-time pick six to let
- 7:36Speaker 1: the Denver Broncos take the lead and take control of
- 7:38Speaker 1: that game. The Broncos head into San Francisco, a team
- 7:42Speaker 1: that you obviously love, 3-0. What does the San Francisco
- 7:47Speaker 1: 49ers have to do to come out with a victory
- 7:48Speaker 1: in this game? They have to play mistake-free football. They
- 7:51Speaker 1: have to run the ball. They have to do what
- 7:52Speaker 1: they've done all season, which is score the football. They're
- 7:56Speaker 1: second in the league in scoring 32 points a game
- 7:59Speaker 1: and third in points allowed.
- 8:00Speaker 2: So that's the way they have to play. But that
- 8:03Speaker 2: starts with running the football, allowing their defense to rest,
- 8:08Speaker 2: getting chunk plays when they're there. And I think Brock
- 8:10Speaker 2: Purdy has done that as well as anybody this season
- 8:13Speaker 2: is just taking what the defense gives him. If it's
- 8:15Speaker 2: an explosive play, he goes, he finds it. If it's not,
- 8:18Speaker 2: if it's a check down, he's going to take four
- 8:19Speaker 2: or five and he's going to keep the ball moving
- 8:21Speaker 2: down the field. They got to continue to run the
- 8:22Speaker 2: ball at a decent rate. I think they're looking for more.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And Kyle Shanahan would tell you he's disappointed in the
- 8:28Speaker 2: run game and he expects more. I think their offensive line, again,
- 8:33Speaker 2: as As much as I was tough on this offensive
- 8:37Speaker 2: line for the San Francisco 49ers, especially the interior offensive line,
- 8:41Speaker 2: they deserve a ton of credit. They have kept Brock
- 8:43Speaker 2: Purdy clean. He has yet to be sacked this season.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So I expect that to continue. Some of it has
- 8:49Speaker 2: to do with his mobility. Some of it has to
- 8:50Speaker 2: do with them doing a great job protecting him. He
- 8:54Speaker 2: has to continue that. Who are they going to have
- 8:57Speaker 2: at receiver? That's a big question. Who's going to be available?
- 9:01Speaker 2: Is Cooks going to be available this week? Is he
- 9:04Speaker 2: going to line up? Is he going to be out there?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Is he going to get up to speed fast enough
- 9:07Speaker 2: to be available to be put out there? Are they
- 9:09Speaker 2: going to use more tight ends? Are they going to
- 9:11Speaker 2: use more Kyle Hughes, Shaq, George Kittle, those guys in
- 9:14Speaker 2: the past game? Can we see some two running back
- 9:17Speaker 2: sets with Kalon Black and Christian McCaffrey on the field
- 9:19Speaker 2: at the same time? I don't know. Kyle Shanahan is
- 9:22Speaker 2: one of the more creative minds in the National Football League.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I know it's going to be fun. On the other side,
- 9:28Speaker 2: Is Drake Greenlaw going to be healthy this week, or
- 9:30Speaker 2: do they sit him another week and rest? Because, again,
- 9:33Speaker 2: that changes the dynamic in a big way on that defense.
- 9:37Speaker 2: He is a big-time factor, a big-time just attitude, Mitchell.
- 9:42Speaker 2: He's a tone setter out there, and when you don't
- 9:44Speaker 2: see him, when he's not out there, you can feel it,
- 9:47Speaker 2: and it's different. So hopefully he can play, but just
- 9:51Speaker 2: like Polly Market, I got the San Francisco 49ers winning
- 9:53Speaker 2: this game. They're signing Matthew Judon to practice squad. He's
- 9:58Speaker 2: a guy, year 11. veteran, four-time pro bowler. He can
- 10:02Speaker 2: get some juice, maybe give them some juice, some pass
- 10:05Speaker 2: rush juice. They're not running a super complex game up front,
- 10:09Speaker 2: so he should be able to get up to speed
- 10:10Speaker 2: pretty fast, and we'll see if he can help them
- 10:12Speaker 2: put some more pressure on the quarterback because they have
- 10:14Speaker 2: had trouble doing that, and they're definitely going to need
- 10:16Speaker 2: it against Bo Nix.
- 10:17Speaker 1: This will be a great test for the Niners. There's
- 10:19Speaker 1: no question about it. The Denver Broncos, again, come off
- 10:22Speaker 1: a big win. A lot of folks expected them to
- 10:24Speaker 1: lose against the Rams. They proved that they're still one
- 10:26Speaker 1: of those contenders in the AFC with that victory.
- 10:29Speaker 2: If they go and.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Knock out the San Francisco 49ers on.
- 10:32Speaker 2: The road, look up.
- 10:33Speaker 1: They will be climbing up your power ranks and certainly
- 10:36Speaker 1: into mine as well. Let's talk a little bit about Seattle.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I mean, this was the stunner of the weekend. Obviously,
- 10:42Speaker 1: we saw Green Bay get destroyed on Thursday Night Football,
- 10:46Speaker 1: but If you would have told me Seattle was going
- 10:48Speaker 1: to go on the road to the Commanders and take
- 10:50Speaker 1: an L with Marcus Mariota at the helm for the Commanders,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I would be absolutely in disbelief. And I am in
- 10:56Speaker 1: disbelief right now, having watched that game. Obviously, Sam Darnold,
- 11:02Speaker 1: coming back from injury, looked a little rusty in that
- 11:04Speaker 1: first half.
- 11:05Speaker 2: He threw two interceptions.
- 11:07Speaker 1: But when the going got tough, he started giving the
- 11:09Speaker 1: ball to his main man, JSN, and they got back
- 11:12Speaker 1: into this game and looked like.
- 11:13Speaker 2: They had life.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Richard, this Seattle Seahawks team has looked so dominant over
- 11:18Speaker 1: the last calendar year. What gives with this game? How
- 11:22Speaker 1: does this happen?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Well, it's the early turnovers. It was a rainy game,
- 11:27Speaker 2: and there's no excuse. The rookie, Jadarian Price, fumbles the ball,
- 11:31Speaker 2: first drive of the game, puts the Commanders in it,
- 11:33Speaker 2: and sometimes a team in the National Football League, you
- 11:36Speaker 2: give them life early. You start to make them, allow
- 11:39Speaker 2: them to believe they have a chance to win, and
- 11:41Speaker 2: they never lost that momentum. The Washington Commanders coached by
- 11:44Speaker 2: Dan Quinn, were well-prepared in this game. They played really
- 11:48Speaker 2: well early on. You got to give Marcus Mariota a
- 11:51Speaker 2: ton of credit. He came into this game well-prepared. He
- 11:54Speaker 2: executed the plan. He was 19 of 31, 183 yards
- 11:58Speaker 2: and three touchdowns versus a very, very formidable Seattle Seahawks defense.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And he made them look bad. I mean, he made
- 12:08Speaker 2: them look bad. No ifs, ands, and buts about it.
- 12:11Speaker 2: They were giving up eight and a half points per
- 12:13Speaker 2: game coming into this game. They gave up 33. And
- 12:16Speaker 2: this is the most the commanders have scored this season.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And this is with Jaden Daniels playing in the other game.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So obviously this gives Mike McDonald a coaching, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 2: some coaching points, some things to point out. And it
- 12:32Speaker 2: humbles this defense a little bit. Probably get some hungrier
- 12:35Speaker 2: throughout the season. Sometimes you need that. Sometimes you get
- 12:37Speaker 2: punched in the mouth and you got to understand that, hey,
- 12:40Speaker 2: You can't just float into games and expect it to
- 12:43Speaker 2: just go well. You got to make enough plays. Obviously,
- 12:47Speaker 2: Julian Love was out of this game, and they had
- 12:50Speaker 2: to play Finley, and Finley had his struggles. They attacked
- 12:53Speaker 2: him multiple times in the red zone, and, you know,
- 12:56Speaker 2: they were able to make some plays. They were attacking
- 12:58Speaker 2: the middle of the field, I think, a lot more
- 13:00Speaker 2: than they would have if Julian Love would have played.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Nick Ammon-Warry got in this game, but he went out
- 13:05Speaker 2: with a hamstring injury. But If you had told me
- 13:09Speaker 2: that Sam Donald was going to throw for 374 yards
- 13:12Speaker 2: and four touchdowns, I would have expected them to win
- 13:14Speaker 2: this game. If you told me Jackson Smith and Chigba
- 13:16Speaker 2: was going to have 10 catches for 128 yards and
- 13:19Speaker 2: two touchdowns, I would have thought they were going to
- 13:21Speaker 2: win this game. If you would have told me Cooper Cup,
- 13:23Speaker 2: four catches, 46 yards, and a touchdown, it sounds like
- 13:26Speaker 2: the offense did what they needed to do. But it's
- 13:28Speaker 2: the turnovers. You had three turnovers in this game. Critical.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Critical turnovers. and the defense didn't make enough plays on
- 13:38Speaker 2: the other side. I don't think they made enough plays,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and if you look at the game, if you watch
- 13:43Speaker 2: the game, they never looked like they were in command.
- 13:46Speaker 2: The offense got going in a great way in the
- 13:48Speaker 2: second half, but those turnovers, unexpected things, just unexpected, uncharacteristic
- 13:55Speaker 2: turnovers that you just can't have, and obviously you expected
- 13:59Speaker 2: some rust for Sam Darnold, but you can't depend on
- 14:02Speaker 2: him like this. The run game has to get going,
- 14:05Speaker 2: and they have no semblance of a run game right now.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And I think that's their biggest issue, and I've talked
- 14:10Speaker 2: about this before last season, and people are like, oh,
- 14:13Speaker 2: it's okay, they'll figure it out. And last season, Kenneth
- 14:16Speaker 2: Walker figured it out throughout the playoffs, and that is
- 14:20Speaker 2: what propelled them to the Super Bowl. They're going to
- 14:22Speaker 2: have to figure this run game out. They set Jadarian
- 14:25Speaker 2: Price for, I think, almost a quarter and a half,
- 14:27Speaker 2: two quarters after he fumbled the football for good reason.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You can't fumble the football in the National Football League.
- 14:33Speaker 2: and he's had two fumbles already in his career. It's
- 14:35Speaker 2: only been three games into his career in the National
- 14:38Speaker 2: Football League. That's not a good thing. When you start
- 14:41Speaker 2: to have that reputation, guys are going to go harder
- 14:44Speaker 2: to try to pull the ball out, try to punch
- 14:47Speaker 2: the ball out. They're going to attack the football more
- 14:49Speaker 2: until he shows that he can secure it, until he
- 14:53Speaker 2: shows that he can be safer with the football. So
- 14:56Speaker 2: that's my biggest concern right now for the Seattle Seahawks
- 14:59Speaker 2: is the run game. The run game has to get going. Um,
- 15:04Speaker 2: I thought, I think anytime you have Sam Donald throwing
- 15:08Speaker 2: it 45 times, that's not the way that Mike McDonald
- 15:11Speaker 2: wants to play. Obviously he doesn't want his defense giving
- 15:14Speaker 2: up 33 points. I guarantee you Mike McDonald expected, Hey,
- 15:19Speaker 2: if this offense scores 31 points, we win that game. So, um,
- 15:23Speaker 2: it's kind of back to the drawing board with some things, uh,
- 15:25Speaker 2: trying to get some things corrected because the way the
- 15:28Speaker 2: Washington commanders attack this secondary is attack this defense is sustainable. It's,
- 15:32Speaker 2: it's a way that other teams will attack it. And
- 15:35Speaker 2: so you have to get these things corrected really quickly,
- 15:38Speaker 2: or it could start spiraling. You hope that, uh, that
- 15:42Speaker 2: Nick M and worry and, and Julian love get healed
- 15:45Speaker 2: up really quickly because they are very pivotal, critical parts
- 15:48Speaker 2: of his defense. No doubt.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And Richard, not to beat a dead horse, but I mean,
- 15:53Speaker 1: I highlighted this coming into the season. I was concerned
- 15:56Speaker 1: about this run game and what the loss of Kenneth
- 15:58Speaker 1: Walker would do to this offense. And today we saw
- 16:01Speaker 1: just that. Without Kenneth Walker, without a reliable veteran in
- 16:06Speaker 1: that backfield, questions start to arise. 18 carries for 44 yards.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I mean, this is a team that's used to pounding
- 16:12Speaker 1: the rock ever since the Marshawn Lynch era, since the
- 16:15Speaker 1: Sean Alexander era. You know, they don't have that bell
- 16:18Speaker 1: cow right now. And that's my one concern point with
- 16:21Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks team. I don't want it to become
- 16:23Speaker 1: their Achilles heel. So they got to fix something here.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Is Zach Charbonnet going to be able to give him
- 16:29Speaker 1: some relief at the midway point of the season? Maybe
- 16:32Speaker 1: he's someone that will help. But to your point, Jadarian
- 16:34Speaker 1: Price being a rookie and having fumbling issues out of
- 16:37Speaker 1: the gates, what does that do to this guy's confidence?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Those are major question marks going forward. Do I think
- 16:43Speaker 1: Seattle's out of the spotlight?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think they're still one of the top five teams
- 16:49Speaker 1: in this league. They've got a defense that just showed
- 16:51Speaker 1: up and didn't play their A game. And got beat.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I mean, bottom line. I don't know how difficult it is, Richard,
- 16:57Speaker 1: in your time playing football, but we see it time
- 17:00Speaker 1: and time again. And I know you've talked about it previously.
- 17:04Speaker 1: How difficult is it for a team that is based
- 17:07Speaker 1: on the West Coast to go to the East Coast
- 17:09Speaker 1: and play that one o'clock hour game? How big of
- 17:12Speaker 1: a role does that play with just your natural instincts
- 17:16Speaker 1: and sleep patterns?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Is that a big issue? Well, I wouldn't say it's
- 17:21Speaker 2: a big issue. It's something to consider. It's something to
- 17:23Speaker 2: think about. But you've got to also understand that Mike
- 17:27Speaker 2: McDonald teams were, over the last, what, 18 road games,
- 17:33Speaker 2: they were 16-2. So it's not like they've played games
- 17:37Speaker 2: at this point before. They prepared the same way. And
- 17:41Speaker 2: they're human. You know, sometimes you just have a bad day.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Sometimes you have a bad time. Sometimes you're not playing
- 17:48Speaker 2: well and they didn't play well. And the Washington Commanders
- 17:50Speaker 2: had their numbers. This is the pros. The other team
- 17:52Speaker 2: gets paid too. And the Washington Commanders went out there
- 17:55Speaker 2: and executed their game plan. They played inspired football. And
- 17:58Speaker 2: they deserved the win. You looked at Terry McLaurin made
- 18:01Speaker 2: huge plays in this game. You looked at the play
- 18:03Speaker 2: in the end zone. Incredible plays. I thought there were
- 18:07Speaker 2: some really questionable calls. I thought one of those unnecessary
- 18:11Speaker 2: roughnesses on a very critical third down where they got
- 18:15Speaker 2: the football. Finley hit Terry McLaurin and pulled the ball out.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And they gave him the first down because they said
- 18:20Speaker 2: it was unnecessary roughness. And Terry McLaurin drops the crown
- 18:23Speaker 2: of his helmet and puts it into Finley's chest. And Finley,
- 18:26Speaker 2: I mean, it's a bang-bang play. There was nothing... I
- 18:30Speaker 2: don't think there was nothing intentionally, demonstratively wrong with the
- 18:35Speaker 2: way Finley attacked it. It's just one of those plays.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And I think it's one of those plays where if
- 18:41Speaker 2: you look at it and the league looks at it carefully,
- 18:43Speaker 2: you might see Terry McLaurin get fined on that play
- 18:46Speaker 2: for crowning the helmet. And so... it's really frustrating to
- 18:50Speaker 2: see plays like that really have such a tremendous impact
- 18:53Speaker 2: on the game because you're like, if Seattle gets that stop,
- 18:56Speaker 2: they're off the field. It was, I think it was
- 18:58Speaker 2: third and 13 and it's now it's automatic first down
- 19:01Speaker 2: on a, on a call that the defender literally couldn't
- 19:03Speaker 2: do anything about it. He runs over there, puts his
- 19:05Speaker 2: chest on there, knocks the ball out. Everybody's standing up
- 19:09Speaker 2: at the end. It's not like Terry McLaurin's knocked out or, or,
- 19:12Speaker 2: or concussed or anything like that. It, It just seemed
- 19:16Speaker 2: like a football play that didn't need to be called,
- 19:19Speaker 2: and it had a big impact on the game.
- 19:22Speaker 1: One little note before we leave this game here. They're
- 19:24Speaker 1: already starting conversations in Seattle. Mike McDonald has confirmed that
- 19:28Speaker 1: Zach Charbonnet might be back at practice next week, starting
- 19:32Speaker 1: his window to return. Richard, how big of a boost
- 19:35Speaker 1: do you think Zach Charbonnet would be to this offense?
- 19:38Speaker 2: It'll be somewhat of a boost, but it's not just...
- 19:42Speaker 2: Right now, they're not opening the holes. You know, there's
- 19:45Speaker 2: fundamental problems in the run game. And obviously, Brian Fleury
- 19:49Speaker 2: is going to do it. he can to get them solved.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Mike McDonald is going to ask the questions and make
- 19:54Speaker 2: sure they get solved because you're going to need to
- 19:56Speaker 2: run the football. They play the L.A. Chargers next week,
- 19:59Speaker 2: and that defense hasn't been the greatest, but it's really talented.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And if you watch how they played against the Buffalo
- 20:06Speaker 2: Bills this week, five turnovers, they cause five turnovers, they
- 20:09Speaker 2: can cause problems, they can cause chaos, and they can
- 20:13Speaker 2: be very opportunistic, and so you have to be able
- 20:15Speaker 2: to run the football, you have to be able to
- 20:17Speaker 2: shave some time off the clock, you know what the
- 20:20Speaker 2: best defense in the National Football League is? It's time, Mitchell,
- 20:24Speaker 2: it's a run game, it's, hey, we are not on
- 20:26Speaker 2: the field very often, if you're on the field 25 minutes, Mitchell, you're,
- 20:30Speaker 2: you're They have a higher propensity to play great defense.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I guarantee you that because you're not on the field
- 20:35Speaker 2: as long. And when you're on the field, 35 minutes,
- 20:37Speaker 2: 36 minutes, 32 minutes, it's going to lead to more
- 20:41Speaker 2: yards and more mistakes. You're out there longer. They're getting
- 20:43Speaker 2: more possessions. They're getting more drives. They're running more plays.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And so that was a bit of an imbalance in
- 20:49Speaker 2: this game. And again, I don't want to take anything
- 20:52Speaker 2: away from the Washington Commanders because they went out there
- 20:55Speaker 2: and executed. They earned this win. This wasn't any any
- 20:57Speaker 2: luck of the draw or, hey, man, the ball bounced
- 21:00Speaker 2: this way or, man, they got, you know, they thoroughly
- 21:03Speaker 2: outplayed the Seattle Seahawks and they earned this win. So
- 21:07Speaker 2: give them a tremendous amount of credit. I look for
- 21:09Speaker 2: the Seattle Seahawks to bounce back next week, but we're
- 21:12Speaker 2: going to see. I want to take a second to
- 21:15Speaker 2: tell you about this new sports trading app called Polymarket.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's the best new way to trade in sports. In
- 21:21Speaker 2: the past, if you wanted action on the game, You'd
- 21:24Speaker 2: put some money in and if your team was doing
- 21:27Speaker 2: well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock the
- 21:30Speaker 2: trade or take a huge fee.
- 21:32Speaker 1: But Polymarket is a prediction market, Richard. It's a stock
- 21:35Speaker 1: exchange for sports. Buying in and selling out on your terms.
- 21:39Speaker 1: When your team goes down to 20%, you can buy
- 21:42Speaker 1: in and sell it off at 40% when they come
- 21:45Speaker 1: back to double your money.
- 21:47Speaker 2: And I've tried them all. And Polymarket is simply the
- 21:50Speaker 2: best prediction market. Better than DraftKings, better than FanDuel, CalSheet,
- 21:55Speaker 2: you name it. They're so confident that you'll never go
- 21:59Speaker 2: back to the other guys. They're giving you a free
- 22:02Speaker 2: $ 50 on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10.
- 22:06Speaker 1: And now they've launched a new feature called Squads, a
- 22:09Speaker 1: group chat where you can see what everyone is trading on.
- 22:12Speaker 1: So download the Polymarket app today and use code Richard.
- 22:16Speaker 1: That's Richard to get $ 50 free after you trade just $ 10.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. They take on the 0-3 L.A.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Chargers.
- 22:26Speaker 1: And you went into detail last podcast, Richard, about what
- 22:30Speaker 1: is wrong in L.A. And it starts with Justin Herbert.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Enter L.A. into Seattle. 0-3, potentially 0-4. And now you're
- 22:40Speaker 1: dealing with a Seattle team that's fresh off a loss.
- 22:42Speaker 1: You know they're going to be very hungry. How do
- 22:45Speaker 1: you see this game playing out in Seattle on Sunday, Richard?
- 22:50Speaker 2: Well, I see it very similar to what Polly Market
- 22:53Speaker 2: has it at. The Seattle Seahawks winning this one in
- 22:56Speaker 2: a very convincing fashion. The offensive line for the L.A.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Chargers has been abysmal all season, and I don't expect
- 23:03Speaker 2: that to change anytime soon, even their good players. Joe
- 23:06Speaker 2: Ault is leading the league in penalties. Rashawn Slater has
- 23:11Speaker 2: not won at the rate that we have come to
- 23:14Speaker 2: expect from a guy of his caliber. I think he
- 23:17Speaker 2: has a 76% win rate. Right now in the season,
- 23:20Speaker 2: which is very low of the 66 tackles in the
- 23:24Speaker 2: National Football League, I think it's like 52 or 55,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and that's not good enough. And obviously we put a
- 23:32Speaker 2: lot of pressure and a lot of blame on Justin Herbert,
- 23:35Speaker 2: rightfully so, because you have to be able to execute. Sure,
- 23:39Speaker 2: the offensive line hasn't been great. There are other guys
- 23:41Speaker 2: who offensive lines aren't great. The pass catchers have to
- 23:46Speaker 2: catch the football. That's a big part of it. The
- 23:48Speaker 2: pass catchers have to catch the football. When he throws
- 23:50Speaker 2: accurate passes, they got to hold on to it, especially
- 23:52Speaker 2: in critical situations. I think that's been a big deterrent
- 23:58Speaker 2: for the L.A. Chargers, and they're going to have to
- 24:00Speaker 2: get that fixed. But on the other side of the ball,
- 24:02Speaker 2: their defense did a great job taking the football away
- 24:06Speaker 2: last week against a very good Buffalo Bills team. They
- 24:09Speaker 2: took it from Dalton Kincaid, forced a fumble there. They
- 24:11Speaker 2: took it from James Cook, forced a fumble early in
- 24:15Speaker 2: that game, two interceptions from from Josh Allen, a forced
- 24:19Speaker 2: fumble on Josh Allen. So if they can play like
- 24:21Speaker 2: that against the Seahawks team that turned the ball over
- 24:26Speaker 2: a number of times, Jadarian Price has only three career
- 24:30Speaker 2: games and has fumbled in two of them. So that's
- 24:32Speaker 2: going to be a point of emphasis. How can they
- 24:34Speaker 2: improve that? How can the Seattle Seahawks improve their running game?
- 24:37Speaker 2: They have to have a better showing on the ground
- 24:39Speaker 2: in order to open up the pass game. Sure, Sam
- 24:42Speaker 2: Donald still is able to be effective getting the ball
- 24:44Speaker 2: to Jackson Smith and Jigba, but where is Rashid Shaheed?
- 24:48Speaker 2: You paid him all this money to stay. He's supposed
- 24:52Speaker 2: to be a big factor in the offense. They're not
- 24:54Speaker 2: targeting him enough for me to even feel comfortable with
- 24:59Speaker 2: the money they're paying him. Usually when you throw out money,
- 25:02Speaker 2: they're feeding Jackson Smith and Jigba, but we're throwing a
- 25:04Speaker 2: lot of tight end screens, and they're working. They're effective plays.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And they're slowing down the pass rush. And it's smart offense.
- 25:11Speaker 2: And Brian Fleury's doing a great job calling it. But
- 25:14Speaker 2: you have to get your speedster involved. Are people going
- 25:17Speaker 2: to just start ignoring him and doubling J.S. Hinn? And,
- 25:20Speaker 2: you know, J.S. Hinn has found a way. I think
- 25:22Speaker 2: the reason that he's continued to find success is Brian
- 25:25Speaker 2: Fleury is doing a good job moving him around. So
- 25:27Speaker 2: you can't get a beat at where he is. It's
- 25:30Speaker 2: hard to double a player when he's in the slot
- 25:31Speaker 2: one play and he's outside one play and he's in
- 25:33Speaker 2: the backfield another play and he's motioning back and forth
- 25:36Speaker 2: the next play. It's really hard to double that guy.
- 25:38Speaker 2: You can't keep swinging your safeties and checking and saying, hey,
- 25:43Speaker 2: we're running cover two to this side. No, we're bracketing
- 25:45Speaker 2: to that side. Oh, he's motioning. All right, move the bracket.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Things are happening too fast. So I commend Brian Fleury
- 25:52Speaker 2: for what he's doing offensively. But you have to get
- 25:56Speaker 2: your other big-time receiver involved. Cooper Cupp has been involved,
- 25:59Speaker 2: which is great. Cooper Cupp is a big-time receiver, former
- 26:02Speaker 2: Triple Crown winner. But Rasheed Shaheed, I mean, I can
- 26:07Speaker 2: understand why the Seahawks fans are complaining about seeing K-9
- 26:10Speaker 2: have the success that he's having in Kansas City and
- 26:12Speaker 2: not seeing Rasheed Shaheed, who got a big-time payday, not
- 26:16Speaker 2: even get targeted enough to have that kind of success,
- 26:18Speaker 2: to have the kind of impact that you would expect. Now,
- 26:22Speaker 2: do I think that K-9 would have the success that
- 26:24Speaker 2: he's had in Kansas City and in Seattle? No, I don't.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I don't. They're just not opening the holes right now.
- 26:30Speaker 2: The run game just has not been as successful. and
- 26:33Speaker 2: maybe he would factor in, you know, obviously he's a
- 26:36Speaker 2: guy that has a ton of yards after contact and
- 26:38Speaker 2: breaks tackles and makes a lot out of a little bit,
- 26:41Speaker 2: but at the end of the day, you've got to
- 26:43Speaker 2: open up some holes. And I'm sure that they're going
- 26:47Speaker 2: to be very cautious and have a very short lease
- 26:49Speaker 2: with Jadarian Price if he can't hold on to the football.
- 26:52Speaker 2: As a running back in the National Football League, that's
- 26:54Speaker 2: one of the worst things you can have on you
- 26:57Speaker 2: is if you fumbled the football, you can't do it.
- 27:00Speaker 2: So if they can Keep the ball safe. If they
- 27:04Speaker 2: can take care of the football and the Seattle Seahawks
- 27:07Speaker 2: can run the football, take some shots with Rasheed Shaheed,
- 27:10Speaker 2: obviously feed Jackson Smith and Jigba. Feed my guy, A.J. Barner.
- 27:15Speaker 2: He's been eaten. I can see them winning this game handily,
- 27:20Speaker 2: but I'm very cautious to say that. After me saying
- 27:24Speaker 2: that last week against the Commanders, with all the circumstances
- 27:27Speaker 2: and everything going against the Commanders, the Commanders found a
- 27:30Speaker 2: way to hang 33 points up on this team. take
- 27:33Speaker 2: the ball away three times, including a pick six. So
- 27:37Speaker 2: I think the Seahawks win this game.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I'm with you, Richard, but the LA Chargers, there's no
- 27:42Speaker 1: doubt about it.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I don't think it's debatable.
- 27:43Speaker 1: They got a lot of talent on that team, including
- 27:46Speaker 1: their quarterback, Justin Herbert, who's struggling mightily. There might be
- 27:49Speaker 1: no team more desperate in football than the Chargers. And
- 27:54Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks losing to Washington shocked me. Them losing
- 27:58Speaker 1: to the Chargers would not shock me. But Seattle needs
- 28:01Speaker 1: to come out and they need to be aggressive and
- 28:03Speaker 1: get hot early. And back to the Rashid Shahid topic. Richard,
- 28:07Speaker 1: his highest yardage total. He's been with the Seahawks for
- 28:10Speaker 1: 12 games ever since getting traded from the Saints. His
- 28:13Speaker 1: highest yardage total is 74 yards. Next highest from that
- 28:17Speaker 1: is 67. Next highest from that, 35, Richard. So, I mean,
- 28:22Speaker 1: it just goes to show you and you can understand
- 28:25Speaker 1: why there's some frustration in the fan base when you
- 28:27Speaker 1: pay a guy 17 million plus a year. and you
- 28:30Speaker 1: let a running back walk who's getting 14-5. So I
- 28:34Speaker 1: get the internal debate. I like Seattle in this game.
- 28:38Speaker 1: They need to find a way to get Rasheed Shahid
- 28:40Speaker 1: more involved and unlock that next level of this offense.
- 28:46Speaker 1: A team that needed to bounce back after a rough
- 28:48Speaker 1: showing on Thursday night football against the Bills. The Detroit
- 28:52Speaker 1: Lions come home and face an old friend, an Aaron Glenn,
- 28:56Speaker 1: the former D.C. for the Detroit Lions. This Jets team
- 28:59Speaker 1: is scrappy, Richard, with Geno Smith at the helm. You
- 29:04Speaker 1: get to see some flair again with the Jets. They
- 29:06Speaker 1: got some good young talent. I mean, Garrett Wilson, Kenyon Sadiq,
- 29:10Speaker 1: Brees Hall watching him. He's so shifty and crafty. You know,
- 29:14Speaker 1: this Jets team is not as bad as people think.
- 29:17Speaker 1: That being said, Detroit scared the living heck out of me.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Up 16 points in the fourth quarter. They inevitably allowed
- 29:24Speaker 1: Geno Smith and the Jets-led offense to come back, tie
- 29:28Speaker 1: the game up, And then Detroit has to scramble. They
- 29:31Speaker 1: rely on their bell cow, Jameer Gibbs, run it down
- 29:35Speaker 1: late and score the touchdown. And then ultimately, the guy
- 29:38Speaker 1: we've been questioning, everyone in Detroit's been questioning, you've been questioning,
- 29:43Speaker 1: Kelvin Shepard, the DC for the Detroit Lions, dials up
- 29:46Speaker 1: a beautiful blitz to end this game, sacking Geno, ultimately
- 29:50Speaker 1: leading to a turnover and fumble recovery by Jack Campbell.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Impressive stuff at the end of this game. Richard, I
- 29:57Speaker 1: got a wild stat for you from Jared Goff. He
- 30:01Speaker 1: threw for 25 out of 32, 269, two touchdowns, zero interceptions,
- 30:06Speaker 1: a 122.5 passer rating. He becomes the sixth QB in
- 30:11Speaker 1: NFL history to start the first three games of the
- 30:14Speaker 1: season with 800 yards passing, eight passing touchdowns, no interceptions,
- 30:20Speaker 1: and a completion percentage of 70% or greater. Jared Goff
- 30:24Speaker 1: was a story in this game. I mean, he got
- 30:27Speaker 1: everyone involved. He's such a consistent and reliable force in Detroit,
- 30:32Speaker 1: and he's somebody they've leaned on. How impressed were you
- 30:36Speaker 1: with what you saw from this Detroit Lions offense today, Richard?
- 30:39Speaker 1: They've put up 31 points in three consecutive games led
- 30:43Speaker 1: by Jared Goff. What stands out to you about this
- 30:46Speaker 1: Detroit Lions offense? Is it enough to help them win
- 30:50Speaker 1: the North and be competitive in the NFC?
- 30:54Speaker 2: We got to wait and see. I think they should.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Jared Goff doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's the
- 31:00Speaker 2: best quarterback in the NFC North, and you can argue
- 31:02Speaker 2: with somebody else. Please, please, if you get a chance,
- 31:05Speaker 2: I don't care if you're a Vikings fan. I don't
- 31:07Speaker 2: care if you're a Caleb Williams Bears fan. Even if
- 31:10Speaker 2: you're a Jordan Love, Green Bay enthusiast, please go check
- 31:15Speaker 2: out Jared Goff's stats. and see why he's the best
- 31:18Speaker 2: quarterback in NFC North. And I know, I know you'll say,
- 31:21Speaker 2: oh man, these are just inflated stats. And if he
- 31:24Speaker 2: did this, and if he would have had this, and
- 31:26Speaker 2: I don't really care about ifs. If ifs was a fifth, Mitchell,
- 31:30Speaker 2: we'd all be drunk. He has played at a consistently
- 31:33Speaker 2: high level for the Detroit Lions, even in a down year.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Last year was considered a down year for them. And
- 31:39Speaker 2: I think he still threw for close to 4,500 yards, 30, 35,
- 31:40Speaker 2: 36 touchdowns, only 10 or 12 interceptions. And it's a
- 31:48Speaker 2: down year. And I think that's the part that gets overshadowed.
- 31:52Speaker 2: He keeps this team afloat. He keeps this offense going. Obviously,
- 31:56Speaker 2: Jameer Gibbs made some incredible plays today. That touchdown run
- 31:59Speaker 2: where he reversed field, cut back Mitchell. There's only a
- 32:03Speaker 2: couple guys in the league that could do that. I
- 32:05Speaker 2: think it's him, maybe James Cook. Obviously, Bajon, you know,
- 32:10Speaker 2: some really special human beings that could get that done.
- 32:13Speaker 2: But he had a really fantastic game. Two touchdowns on
- 32:15Speaker 2: the ground. eight, seven catches for 65 yards and a
- 32:19Speaker 2: touchdown through the air. But my concern is, is this
- 32:25Speaker 2: kind of defense sustainable? Obviously give Kelvin Shepard a lot,
- 32:28Speaker 2: a lot of credit because they've had their struggles in
- 32:30Speaker 2: the secondary. And I thought they were battling today, but
- 32:33Speaker 2: you've got to bring more pressure. And that's what he did.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Five sacks of Gino Smith, but Gino was also 31
- 32:38Speaker 2: to 37 for three 21 and three touchdowns with 129.8
- 32:39Speaker 2: quarterback rating. So But when they needed a play, they
- 32:48Speaker 2: made it. And sometimes that's the kind of defense you have.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Can you battle? Can you scrap? Can you fight? Can
- 32:53Speaker 2: you make a play when your team needs it? Can
- 32:55Speaker 2: you get that one stop to give your offense a
- 32:57Speaker 2: chance to win the game? And if they can play
- 32:59Speaker 2: defense like that, they deserve a ton of credit. But
- 33:04Speaker 2: it's to be seen. They got a tough season. They're
- 33:05Speaker 2: in a tough division. But right now they're tied for the– no,
- 33:09Speaker 2: they're not. Right now they're battling. They're battling. I want
- 33:13Speaker 2: to see how they play against Chicago. I want to
- 33:16Speaker 2: see how they play against Minnesota. And we'll see. This
- 33:20Speaker 2: NFC North is going to be way more competitive than
- 33:22Speaker 2: people think. Obviously, the Green Bay Packers look like they're
- 33:25Speaker 2: having a down year. There's no answers walking through that
- 33:28Speaker 2: door with the offensive line. They're really banged up. Jordan
- 33:33Speaker 2: Love is under consistent pressure, so I'm not looking for
- 33:37Speaker 2: them to do anything. The Minnesota Vikings... are battling. They
- 33:40Speaker 2: look like they're a defense first team, defense and run
- 33:43Speaker 2: the football. Kyler Murray gave them a little bit of
- 33:46Speaker 2: a spark today, but we'll see. I think Detroit is
- 33:49Speaker 2: the most complete team, the team I trust the most
- 33:52Speaker 2: in this division, and we'll see if they can pull
- 33:54Speaker 2: it out.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Richard, to just highlight what you said there, I mean,
- 33:59Speaker 1: my main concern with this team is obviously the defensive secondary.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Their front seven, they got after the quarterback today. DJ Wonung,
- 34:06Speaker 1: they brought him over He was formerly opposite of Danil
- 34:09Speaker 1: Hunter with the Minnesota Vikings. You know, he had two
- 34:12Speaker 1: sacks today. Aleem McNeil had a sack today, fresh off
- 34:15Speaker 1: the ACL tear. He was not the same guy last year.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Great to see him back. You know, obviously, Aiden Hutchinson
- 34:20Speaker 1: getting after the quarterback. That's all great and grand. But, Richard,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I think it's safe to say their entire secondary, I
- 34:27Speaker 1: don't know if there's one guy opposite of maybe DJ
- 34:31Speaker 1: Reed that is an above-average quarterback. player in that room
- 34:35Speaker 1: if Detroit really wants to get competitive and my eyes
- 34:39Speaker 1: as a fan they need to make a big splash
- 34:42Speaker 1: play maybe it's Joey Porter Jr. with the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 34:45Speaker 1: you know if Detroit wants to get after it this
- 34:48Speaker 1: year and be Super Bowl contenders they need to address
- 34:51Speaker 1: opposite of DJ Reed it is unfair to him he's
- 34:54Speaker 1: taking flags downfield on PIs they're basically all cards in
- 34:59Speaker 1: on Brian Branch coming back and being the same guy
- 35:01Speaker 1: he was without his Achilles injury Questions are in the
- 35:04Speaker 1: air about Kirby Joseph and his long-term health.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Can he play again? We shall see.
- 35:08Speaker 1: But there's more questions than answers in this secondary for
- 35:12Speaker 1: the Lions. That's my main concern. We'll see how they
- 35:15Speaker 1: handle it going forward, Richard. But that is a big
- 35:18Speaker 1: point of emphasis that needs to be addressed mid-season if
- 35:21Speaker 1: the Lions want to be competitive in my eyes.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And I think the only way you do that, I mean,
- 35:26Speaker 2: Joey Porter is probably the only one who's available for
- 35:28Speaker 2: that kind of trade. And if the Pittsburgh Steelers are
- 35:30Speaker 2: playing well, and they played well today, their defense has
- 35:32Speaker 2: been playing well, I don't think he's going to be
- 35:35Speaker 2: as available as you want, unless you give them an
- 35:37Speaker 2: offer they can't refuse. And I don't know if Detroit
- 35:39Speaker 2: has ever really operated in that way where they're trying
- 35:42Speaker 2: to give a King's ransom during the season while also
- 35:45Speaker 2: paying the guy a ton of money. So I don't
- 35:49Speaker 2: know if I would hold my breath for that kind
- 35:50Speaker 2: of big transaction Mitchell, but who knows, who knows the
- 35:53Speaker 2: NFL is crazy and crazier things have happened. They were
- 35:57Speaker 2: able to get home. You got to give Kelvin Shepard credit.
- 35:59Speaker 2: They were able to get home when they needed to.
- 36:01Speaker 2: They put a lot of pressure on Gino. And I think, Again,
- 36:05Speaker 2: I feel great for Geno and the New York Jets.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I think they played great offensively. I thought they gave
- 36:10Speaker 2: themselves a chance. They've been playing better defensively, and we'll
- 36:16Speaker 2: see if that can continue. We'll see if they can
- 36:18Speaker 2: string together some wins, but I don't know if you
- 36:20Speaker 2: can put this one on Geno at all. I think
- 36:22Speaker 2: the Detroit Lions offense is just a great unit who's
- 36:25Speaker 2: going to put up points, and they're a tough unit
- 36:27Speaker 2: to keep up with.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Richard, let's take it to the game. Let's take it
- 36:32Speaker 1: to the Detroit Lions game because, This is a Sunday
- 36:36Speaker 1: night game, and it's going to be featuring two teams
- 36:39Speaker 1: that have high-flying offenses early in the season. The Detroit
- 36:42Speaker 1: Lions travel to the Carolina Panthers, and I think you've
- 36:46Speaker 1: got a little something to say about this game.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mitchell, this Carolina Panthers offense is one
- 36:54Speaker 2: that can score the football, that can put the ball
- 36:57Speaker 2: in the end zone. And your Detroit Lions are also
- 37:01Speaker 2: a team that can put the ball in the end zone.
- 37:04Speaker 2: The problem is they don't do a great job of
- 37:07Speaker 2: stopping anybody from putting the ball in the end zone.
- 37:10Speaker 2: And if Carolina can play as they have majority of
- 37:13Speaker 2: this season, they're one of the top scoring offenses in
- 37:16Speaker 2: the National Football League. Mitchell Carolina is fifth in scoring,
- 37:22Speaker 2: but 26th in defense. Detroit is third in scoring offense,
- 37:26Speaker 2: but 32nd in defense. It's a more even match than
- 37:32Speaker 2: Polymarket is giving credit for. They have your Detroit Lions,
- 37:35Speaker 2: Honolulu Blue Boys, 64% chance of winning this game. Mitchell,
- 37:43Speaker 2: this is my upset alert. I know you don't want to,
- 37:46Speaker 2: I know you don't like it. I know this isn't
- 37:48Speaker 2: going to sound great to fans in Detroit or Detroit, whatever,
- 37:51Speaker 2: because until they start playing defense, I don't know if
- 37:54Speaker 2: I can call them Detroit, but Mitchell, this has all
- 38:04Speaker 2: the smells of an upset. It just, ah, it smells
- 38:08Speaker 2: like Detroit is going to go in there and score
- 38:10Speaker 2: 31 points, but give up 36. Say it with, I
- 38:15Speaker 2: got Carol. Oh, shit. There it is.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I was going to tell you to say it with
- 38:19Speaker 1: your chest, but you just said it. Caroline, you're not wrong, Richard.
- 38:23Speaker 1: in your breakdown, because this is something this game could
- 38:26Speaker 1: be in the forties. You know, this game could be
- 38:28Speaker 1: a 42 to 41 thriller, but oftentimes when we think
- 38:33Speaker 1: games are going to be like that, they go the
- 38:35Speaker 1: total opposite, uh, Detroit and breaking down their gameplay against
- 38:40Speaker 1: the jets. Dan Campbell was super impressed with his defense,
- 38:44Speaker 1: which I don't quite understand why. I mean, They gave
- 38:47Speaker 1: up 16 fourth quarter points to the jets when they
- 38:50Speaker 1: were up 16 points and allow the jets to get
- 38:53Speaker 1: back into that game and make it a lot closer
- 38:55Speaker 1: than it needed to be. Uh, Detroit's got a lot
- 38:58Speaker 1: to prove in this game at Carolina. Like you mentioned,
- 39:01Speaker 1: got a high flying offense. I got a bunch of
- 39:03Speaker 1: offensive weapons. We'll see the health of Jalen Coker. He's
- 39:06Speaker 1: a good young wide receiver for them. They've obviously, obviously
- 39:09Speaker 1: got Teterola McMillan. Um, That being said, I like the
- 39:13Speaker 1: Detroit Lions. I think this is a proving game for
- 39:16Speaker 1: the Lions. They've held close with their opponents that they've
- 39:18Speaker 1: played throughout the first three games. This is the first
- 39:21Speaker 1: one I think the Lions win in controlling fashion. Give
- 39:24Speaker 1: me the Lions to win by 10 points. I expect
- 39:27Speaker 1: Aiden Hutchinson to get after the quarterback. DJ Wonham got
- 39:31Speaker 1: two sacks last game. Aleem McNeil's proven that he's healthy again.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Watch out for the bowling ball in the middle, Richard.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Skyler Gil Howard, the rookie out of Texas Tech. But
- 39:42Speaker 1: that back end, man, that's secondary. That's where they got
- 39:46Speaker 1: a lot to prove. We cannot just cross our fingers
- 39:49Speaker 1: and pray for Kirby Joseph to return and pray for
- 39:52Speaker 1: Brian Branch to return and pray for Joey Porter to
- 39:55Speaker 1: be traded for. These guys in the room have got
- 39:57Speaker 1: to step up, and the Detroit Lions have got to
- 39:59Speaker 1: show that they are a contender in this NFC because
- 40:02Speaker 1: right now that offense has shown it, but that defense,
- 40:06Speaker 1: oh boy. The Detroit Lions, as you called them, can
- 40:09Speaker 1: we put the D back in Detroit, please, for the
- 40:12Speaker 1: love of God, Richard?
- 40:15Speaker 2: We're going to see. We're going to see because Tedderon McMillan, Crocker,
- 40:21Speaker 2: Xavier Leggett, Shubba Hubbard, those are names you're going to
- 40:24Speaker 2: be familiarizing yourself with this weekend. And I hope, I pray,
- 40:33Speaker 2: that the Detroit Lions play some defense this week. I
- 40:36Speaker 2: know that Dan Campbell spoke life into them, as he should.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Good kid, coach, guy who wants his defense to show
- 40:41Speaker 2: up in a big way. If they don't, mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Conversation richard you want a dc job in detroit i
- 40:56Speaker 1: got a spare bedroom you can just lay your feet
- 40:58Speaker 1: up on man you can chill out here for a
- 41:00Speaker 1: couple weeks until you find a place around here it'll
- 41:03Speaker 1: be great it'll be great.
- 41:05Speaker 2: I appreciate that i appreciate that well we would have
- 41:07Speaker 2: a lot of changes in the back end and we
- 41:09Speaker 2: would have some conversations and we need a whole training
- 41:11Speaker 2: camp off season maybe another off season And I'd need
- 41:14Speaker 2: some other coaches to, but that's, you know, we're not
- 41:16Speaker 2: going to go down that, we're not going down that path, Mitchell.
- 41:20Speaker 2: They're going to keep Kelvin Shepard and, okay, good luck.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Well, Richard's calling for an upset Carolina Panthers, victorious against
- 41:27Speaker 1: the Lions per Richard Sherman. Let's talk about the Raiders, Richard.
- 41:32Speaker 1: This is the team, last week you said they were
- 41:35Speaker 1: the surprise of the NFL after they started 2-0. They
- 41:38Speaker 1: just went on the road and knocked off the New
- 41:40Speaker 1: Orleans Saints, who look like a pretty solid team, especially, again,
- 41:47Speaker 1: in this nasty NFC South. New Orleans Saints can't get
- 41:51Speaker 1: it done at home, but this Raider team, 3-0. They're
- 41:54Speaker 1: down 11 points in the second half. They come back
- 41:57Speaker 1: and ultimately win by 8. Impressive game. Kirk Cousins, the
- 42:01Speaker 1: game manager that he is, throws for 248 in three
- 42:04Speaker 1: touchdowns with a 119 passer rating. You gotta love seeing
- 42:08Speaker 1: Brock Bowers back with this offense. 13 targets, 10 receptions,
- 42:12Speaker 1: 116 and a touchdown. Richard, is this Raider team for real?
- 42:18Speaker 1: Because they awfully look like it. They awfully sure do
- 42:20Speaker 1: look like it. Yeah, I know what you're trying to say.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yes, yes. Excuse me.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yes, I can rephrase that for you. Richard, is this
- 42:29Speaker 1: Raider team for real? Question mark.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yes, this Raiders team is for real. And I know
- 42:37Speaker 2: people love to beat up on Kirk Cousins for the
- 42:41Speaker 2: mistakes and how he looked in Atlanta at times. But
- 42:45Speaker 2: there were times he looked special. There was a game
- 42:48Speaker 2: we were there, he threw for 500, Mitchell. And that's
- 42:51Speaker 2: the peak and the ceiling of Kirk Cousins. And obviously
- 42:56Speaker 2: the floor is the floor. You know, he can turn
- 42:58Speaker 2: the ball over. He can kind of fold in big moments.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Sometimes it goes bad for him. But I think when
- 43:03Speaker 2: Clint Kubiak said, hey, let's go get Kirk kirk cousins
- 43:08Speaker 2: he understood that kirk cousins within this again this west
- 43:13Speaker 2: coast tight condensed kyle shanahan inside outside zone really condensed
- 43:18Speaker 2: passing game offense that mcveigh runs that a lot of
- 43:21Speaker 2: these teams run and clint kubiak ran it in seattle
- 43:25Speaker 2: and they're gonna run it in in in uh in
- 43:28Speaker 2: las vegas He operates it at a high level. He's
- 43:31Speaker 2: a high-level processor, and he's a guy that can play.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And again, talking about those anticipatory throws, he can make
- 43:38Speaker 2: those throws. He can make those passes. He can make
- 43:40Speaker 2: those adjustments. He can understand how the defense is adjusting
- 43:43Speaker 2: and hit those windows. Sometimes he can get really, really hot.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And right now, he was 22 of 33, 248, three touchdowns,
- 43:50Speaker 2: 119 passer rating, really operating at a high level. And
- 43:55Speaker 2: when you give him a target and a real, I mean,
- 44:00Speaker 2: just freak like Brock Bowers who can, who can catch
- 44:03Speaker 2: these passes and he can put a, he can, he can, uh,
- 44:06Speaker 2: he can catch them against DBs or linebackers and you
- 44:10Speaker 2: get matchups that you want. It gets really fun. Brock Bowers,
- 44:13Speaker 2: 10 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Trey Tucker
- 44:17Speaker 2: got involved. Ashton Gentry didn't have the biggest game, but again,
- 44:20Speaker 2: when they needed to have it on the ground, just
- 44:22Speaker 2: got those grinded out yards, kept making the run game viable.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Like they had to defend the run game. That's the
- 44:28Speaker 2: only way these play action passes that you have to
- 44:30Speaker 2: have in this offense work is that you got to
- 44:33Speaker 2: respect the run game and they respected it enough. Michael Meyer,
- 44:37Speaker 2: a mayor, three receptions for 32 yards in the touchdown.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Mike Washington, five carries for 54 yards in the touchdown.
- 44:43Speaker 2: He's making an impact, very explosive runs at times. They're
- 44:47Speaker 2: a team you have to respect because they're playing solid
- 44:51Speaker 2: football on both sides of the ball. I think their
- 44:53Speaker 2: defense is making plays. They got a young guy. They
- 44:56Speaker 2: got a young guy. Let me get his name right
- 45:00Speaker 2: because it's biblical, Mitchell. It's biblical. His name is biblical.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Hezekiah Masses. Hezekiah Masses. Three interceptions tied for the league lead.
- 45:13Speaker 2: A rookie. Fifth round pick, Mitchell. So there's a spot
- 45:16Speaker 2: in my heart. There's a place in my heart for Hezekiah.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Hezekiah is incredible. made one of the biggest plays of
- 45:25Speaker 2: the day in this game. Now there are most, this
- 45:28Speaker 2: game turned into an absolute shit show at the end.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I mean, there was fumbles all over the place. There was,
- 45:33Speaker 2: there was turnovers left and right. I think Kirk fumbled, um,
- 45:38Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck fumbled one and he got recovered and it
- 45:41Speaker 2: just seemed like a never ending game at the end.
- 45:43Speaker 2: But when the game was tied, I think it was
- 45:47Speaker 2: 27 and 28. Uh, and the Raiders had just scored and,
- 45:51Speaker 2: and New Orleans had the ball, and they pressured Tyler Shuck,
- 45:56Speaker 2: and they looked like they ran a two-trap on defense,
- 45:59Speaker 2: at least to Hezekiah's side, and he turned around, and
- 46:03Speaker 2: an errant pass by Tyler Shuck while he was under pressure.
- 46:07Speaker 2: He got hit. The ball went out. This kid got
- 46:09Speaker 2: another interception. He had two the week before. He's got
- 46:12Speaker 2: three on the season, and his return, his return, I mean,
- 46:16Speaker 2: his return skills were there. Mitchell, the guy's a ball player,
- 46:19Speaker 2: and he got it. He got it going, got them
- 46:21Speaker 2: in scoring range, and really secured this win. Now, there
- 46:26Speaker 2: were ways, there were times that New Orleans could have
- 46:28Speaker 2: got something done, and Tyler Shutt deserves a ton of credit. 29-42, 255,
- 46:33Speaker 2: four touchdown passes in this game, 106 rating. Also had
- 46:37Speaker 2: a big run in this game for 36 yards. Chris
- 46:40Speaker 2: Olave is having a wonderful start to the season. Nine
- 46:43Speaker 2: for 107. Jawan Johnson, eight for eight. eight receptions on
- 46:49Speaker 2: eight targets for 53 yards and two touchdown passes. Again,
- 46:53Speaker 2: a great start to the season. Noah Fant, four catches
- 46:55Speaker 2: on four targets for 33 yards, two touchdown catches. Again,
- 46:59Speaker 2: he loves to target these tight ends. He loves to
- 47:01Speaker 2: get them involved, but it was not enough in this
- 47:05Speaker 2: game because of what we just talked about. The plays
- 47:07Speaker 2: that Las Vegas was able to make down the stretch,
- 47:10Speaker 2: two sacks, four takeaways in this game, and they're going
- 47:15Speaker 2: to play the Kansas City Chiefs next week, and before
- 47:18Speaker 2: the season started, I don't think anybody would have looked
- 47:20Speaker 2: at that game and been like, oh man, this is
- 47:21Speaker 2: going to be a really cool game. This is going
- 47:23Speaker 2: to be a game that you got to watch that
- 47:25Speaker 2: might get flexed in the prime time. You wouldn't have
- 47:27Speaker 2: thought the Raiders game just based on the Raiders picking
- 47:30Speaker 2: number one in the draft from the last season. I mean,
- 47:33Speaker 2: there's a reason they were picking number one in the draft,
- 47:35Speaker 2: but now that they're three and oh, and we all
- 47:37Speaker 2: know what the Kansas city chiefs have been doing. They
- 47:39Speaker 2: got found a way to win today against the Miami dolphins.
- 47:42Speaker 2: I mean, you can't say found a way to win.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Miami dolphins don't have a ton of talent, but, Kenneth
- 47:47Speaker 2: Walker and everything they got. This might be the game
- 47:50Speaker 2: of the week this week because of the way the
- 47:52Speaker 2: Las Vegas Raiders are playing. And that's not to say
- 47:55Speaker 2: anything really bad about the New Orleans Saints. They're in
- 47:57Speaker 2: this NFC South that anybody can win. Everybody's still even.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Everybody's still even. And I would say... Of all things
- 48:04Speaker 2: going on, it's still Atlanta. I mean, it's hard to
- 48:07Speaker 2: say because if you look at any given week, you
- 48:10Speaker 2: could say Carolina's been playing really good football. You could
- 48:13Speaker 2: say that Atlanta this week against Green Bay played fantastic
- 48:16Speaker 2: football and Pennix is back. So now they have a
- 48:18Speaker 2: viable option at quarterback. Who can get this done and
- 48:21Speaker 2: who can open this offense up? But the New Orleans Saints,
- 48:25Speaker 2: whoever was the scout that found Tyler Shaw and stood
- 48:31Speaker 2: on the table for them to draft him, deserves to
- 48:34Speaker 2: be called out and praised at a high level because
- 48:37Speaker 2: when they drafted him everybody including myself was like why
- 48:40Speaker 2: didn't they get Shador you know and that that's part
- 48:43Speaker 2: of the bias that we had during the time because
- 48:45Speaker 2: Shador was falling in the draft and everybody was like
- 48:47Speaker 2: somebody got to pick him up is it going to
- 48:49Speaker 2: be New York is it going to be them is
- 48:50Speaker 2: it going to be Cleveland is it going to be
- 48:51Speaker 2: these teams is it going to be Baltimore and they
- 48:54Speaker 2: took Tyler Shuck and there were people that that said
- 48:58Speaker 2: hey man he's a really good quarterback you guys just
- 49:00Speaker 2: don't know yet He's a really good quarterback. You guys
- 49:02Speaker 2: just don't know yet. And they were right. They were, Richard.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I mean, the one knock on him coming out of
- 49:09Speaker 1: college as a rookie is his age. He was a
- 49:12Speaker 1: 26-year-old rookie. But, you know, even when they were playing
- 49:15Speaker 1: the Lions two weeks ago, I guess the opening week
- 49:18Speaker 1: of the season, Mark Brunel. the lions QB coach said
- 49:22Speaker 1: he had him ranked as the number one quarterback in
- 49:24Speaker 1: that draft, you know? So he obviously had believers, you know,
- 49:28Speaker 1: but when the one knock is your age at 26,
- 49:30Speaker 1: you know, a team like the saints that need, uh, some,
- 49:34Speaker 1: I guess a veteran presence under center, To get a
- 49:38Speaker 1: 26-year-old rookie kind of makes sense. But Richard, before we
- 49:42Speaker 1: leave this game, the Las Vegas Raiders, they become the
- 49:47Speaker 1: first team since 2013 to start a season 3-0 after
- 49:51Speaker 1: finishing the previous season with.
- 49:53Speaker 2: The worst record in football.
- 49:55Speaker 1: So this Raiders team is making some noise right now.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Is there any shot in the world we could see
- 50:00Speaker 1: them in the top five of your power ranks?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Mitchell, I don't know. I don't know. Right now, Mitchell,
- 50:12Speaker 2: I'm gun shy about that because I did that with
- 50:14Speaker 2: the Cincinnati Bengals and I got stung for it. So
- 50:18Speaker 2: I'm not sure. I'm probably going to give it another week.
- 50:21Speaker 2: If they can beat the Kansas City Chiefs, then sure,
- 50:24Speaker 2: we can start to have that conversation. But right now,
- 50:26Speaker 2: I'm not quite there yet. And I know Raiders fans,
- 50:29Speaker 2: you guys are passionate. You guys are really, really incredible.
- 50:33Speaker 2: But They're just not there yet for me, and I'm
- 50:35Speaker 2: not going to force it.
- 50:36Speaker 1: This segment is sponsored by Sling TV, and it's called
- 50:41Speaker 1: Rule Breakers. Richard, who is a cornerback in the past
- 50:45Speaker 1: who you would personify as a rule breaker? I'd have
- 50:49Speaker 1: to go with the legend, Charles Woodson. 65 career interceptions.
- 50:53Speaker 2: A guy that wasn't where quarterbacks thought he was going
- 50:56Speaker 2: to be, that they may have thought, hey, I got
- 50:59Speaker 2: a beat on this play. They're running this coverage, and
- 51:01Speaker 2: then Of course, Charles Woodson just breaks the coverage, goes
- 51:06Speaker 2: where the ball is going, takes the football away, and
- 51:08Speaker 2: keeps going. A rule breaker, Mitchell. A guy who had
- 51:11Speaker 2: instincts that are out of this world. A guy who
- 51:14Speaker 2: dominated the football field, dominated every position he played, whether
- 51:18Speaker 2: it was nickel, safety, or the outside corner, because he
- 51:22Speaker 2: dictated the pace. He dictated where the ball was going
- 51:25Speaker 2: with his positioning, with his IQ. Just an incredible guy,
- 51:29Speaker 2: and of course, a rule breaker.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Check out Sling's Day Pass subscription and get instant access
- 51:35Speaker 1: to 24 hours of live TV starting at just $ 4. 99.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Drop who you think is a rule breaker in the
- 51:41Speaker 1: comments section and make sure you tune in to next
- 51:44Speaker 1: weekend's game on Sling TV. Let's talk about another game.
- 51:50Speaker 1: And you were just saying about these roughing the passer issues.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I mean, the Miami Dolphins... inevitably lost the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 52:00Speaker 1: who continue to look impressive. But when this game was
- 52:03Speaker 1: close and the Kansas City Chiefs were backed up against
- 52:06Speaker 1: their own end zone, Chop Robinson got called for a
- 52:08Speaker 1: 15-yard roughing the passer call, which to me looked like
- 52:12Speaker 1: just a big, solid hit. But because he landed on
- 52:16Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, he was flagged. Not to say that the
- 52:19Speaker 1: end result wouldn't have been any different, but for a
- 52:21Speaker 1: team that's battling like the Miami Dolphins are, to have
- 52:25Speaker 1: that penalty go against you Totally changes the momentum of
- 52:28Speaker 1: the game. Richard, back to the Kansas City side of things, though.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes continues to impress. 20 of 24, 246, two touchdowns,
- 52:37Speaker 1: 119 passer rating. Got Rasheed Rice involved, seven receptions, 88 yards.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey's kind of turned back the clock of time.
- 52:46Speaker 1: He looks like his old self. Two receptions, 59 yards
- 52:49Speaker 1: and a touchdown. And then the big one, K-9, Kenneth Walker,
- 52:53Speaker 1: the Michigan State Spartan. Former Seattle Seahawks running back, who
- 52:57Speaker 1: I'm guessing Seattle fan base, the 12s, desperately wish still
- 53:01Speaker 1: was donning the Seattle Seahawks number nine.
- 53:04Speaker 2: Kenneth Walker.
- 53:05Speaker 1: I mean, is there a bigger surprise this season from
- 53:09Speaker 1: an offensive skill position player than Kenneth Walker is with
- 53:13Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs?
- 53:14Speaker 2: No, there's not a... I can't say there's not a
- 53:18Speaker 2: bigger offseason pickup because there are some other guys that
- 53:22Speaker 2: are hand-in-glove fits. But one of the bigger offseason pickups
- 53:25Speaker 2: in the National Football League and one of the more
- 53:26Speaker 2: perfect fits for their team that was picked up. And
- 53:30Speaker 2: he's making a tremendous impact and taking a lot of
- 53:33Speaker 2: pressure off of Patrick Mahomes. And I think that's appreciated.
- 53:37Speaker 2: He's making their lives a lot easier, both in the
- 53:39Speaker 2: run game, but also in the pass game. He had
- 53:42Speaker 2: a pass touchdown in this game as well. And he's
- 53:44Speaker 2: just a guy that when things aren't going perfectly and
- 53:48Speaker 2: they need an explosive play, he continues to deliver. He's
- 53:51Speaker 2: delivered tremendously. every game for the first three games of
- 53:54Speaker 2: the season. He's a big reason why they're, they're, they are, uh,
- 53:58Speaker 2: what they are. They're three and oh, right now in
- 53:59Speaker 2: the season, whether Patrick Mahomes plays well or whether he
- 54:02Speaker 2: doesn't play well, they have been able to lean on
- 54:04Speaker 2: him for consistency. And again, Travis Kelsey continues to find
- 54:09Speaker 2: a way. What do you, what do you have these
- 54:10Speaker 2: numbers somewhere else? I don't know, but his rapport and his,
- 54:13Speaker 2: his relationship with Patrick Mahomes just keeps allowing them to,
- 54:17Speaker 2: to find these, these holes and these voids in the defense.
- 54:20Speaker 2: And he seems to just have a, a great knack
- 54:23Speaker 2: for finding it. And when he does, Patrick Mahomes is
- 54:25Speaker 2: giving him the football and allowing him to do what
- 54:27Speaker 2: he does. And that's been fantastic to watch. On the
- 54:30Speaker 2: other side, this isn't a very talented Miami Dolphins team,
- 54:34Speaker 2: but they fought. They fought. And you got to give
- 54:36Speaker 2: Jeff Halfley a lot of credit. They fought. Malik Willis
- 54:39Speaker 2: is getting better and better. He's making plays. He's pushing
- 54:42Speaker 2: the ball down the field. They're playing in the absence
- 54:44Speaker 2: of fear because they have nothing to lose. You know,
- 54:47Speaker 2: I mean, you can't say losing by 14 points is
- 54:50Speaker 2: a win by any stretch of the imagination and you
- 54:53Speaker 2: only score 10 points offensively. But at times they were
- 54:57Speaker 2: battling in this game. They were in this game was
- 54:59Speaker 2: closer than the score says. And I think if you're
- 55:04Speaker 2: Jeff Halfley, you have to talk about that as a win.
- 55:06Speaker 2: This team is building. They are in dead cap hell.
- 55:09Speaker 2: I think they're got $ 180 million in dead money. You
- 55:12Speaker 2: traded away all your best players. So you're trying to
- 55:14Speaker 2: develop players and teach them winning habits. You're not going
- 55:17Speaker 2: to win this year. And if you get the number
- 55:20Speaker 2: one pick or you're in the running for the number
- 55:21Speaker 2: one pick, there are some solid quarterbacks out of college
- 55:24Speaker 2: that you're going to have an opportunity to get. And
- 55:26Speaker 2: obviously the big name that everybody's going to talk about
- 55:29Speaker 2: is Arch Manning. I don't know if he's going to
- 55:30Speaker 2: be the top quarterback to come out this year. I
- 55:33Speaker 2: got to study more college tape and watch that and
- 55:35Speaker 2: listen to Mel Kiper and the guys that are extra,
- 55:38Speaker 2: Todd Mache and all those guys who handled the draft.
- 55:42Speaker 2: But I don't think Miami is looking to do anything
- 55:46Speaker 2: but build for the future. and see who's going to
- 55:49Speaker 2: be a part of that future. I think they're starting
- 55:50Speaker 2: to see some guys that have made some plays and
- 55:55Speaker 2: are trying to find a way. They had a takeaway
- 55:57Speaker 2: in this game. They got some guys that could be
- 56:00Speaker 2: a part of that future, but they got a tough
- 56:01Speaker 2: game against the Minnesota Vikings coming up, and obviously Brian
- 56:05Speaker 2: Flores had some bad blood for Miami. He had some
- 56:08Speaker 2: bad blood. So if you thought Brian Flores was going
- 56:11Speaker 2: to bring some blitzes for anybody, He's going to bring
- 56:14Speaker 2: some blitzes to Miami. That's no question about it. He
- 56:16Speaker 2: don't feel bad about having a lack of talent or anything.
- 56:19Speaker 2: He remembers how he was done in Miami, and I
- 56:23Speaker 2: don't think that's something he'll ever forget.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Let's move on to the next game. And, Richard, this
- 56:27Speaker 1: is my no-doubt-about-it lock of the week. I'm taking the
- 56:32Speaker 1: Kansas City Chiefs on the road to beat the Las
- 56:36Speaker 1: Vegas Raiders, the 3-0 Red Hot Raiders. We'll get knocked
- 56:40Speaker 1: off this week by Division 4 Kansas City Chiefs. That's
- 56:43Speaker 1: my no doubt about it. Lock of the week. And
- 56:45Speaker 1: this next game preview is sponsored by Polymarket. We got
- 56:49Speaker 1: the Raiders versus the Chiefs, and both teams are undefeated.
- 56:52Speaker 1: It's a must-watch TV on Sunday. Raiders at home, and
- 56:57Speaker 1: Polymarket has Kansas City with a 65% chance to win
- 57:01Speaker 1: this game, while the Raiders are just at 35%. With
- 57:04Speaker 1: all that being said, Richard, Do you agree with Polly
- 57:08Speaker 1: Market's assessment of this game?
- 57:10Speaker 2: Do I agree with Polly Market's assessment, Mitchell? I don't
- 57:14Speaker 2: think I do because this has upset alert written all
- 57:18Speaker 2: over it, and it's obviously not my biggest upset of
- 57:20Speaker 2: the week because I got another game, and I don't
- 57:22Speaker 2: know if you're going to like what I have to
- 57:23Speaker 2: say about that, but we'll get there eventually. But this
- 57:27Speaker 2: Raiders offense... Nothing too crazy, nothing too shiny, nothing like
- 57:33Speaker 2: to write home about. Just effective. Clint Kubiak is using everybody. Obviously,
- 57:37Speaker 2: Brock Bowers had a big game last week. He's going
- 57:40Speaker 2: to be incredibly involved in this game. Trey Tucker. Trey
- 57:43Speaker 2: Tucker has just been a reliable target. Has 15 targets
- 57:47Speaker 2: on the season, 11 catches for 189 yards and one touchdown.
- 57:52Speaker 2: And then again, Kirk Cousins. Not doing anything crazy in
- 57:55Speaker 2: three games. He's completing 67% of his passes, about 220
- 57:59Speaker 2: a game, 661 yards, nine touchdowns, only three interceptions. Solid football.
- 58:05Speaker 2: And he fits well in this scheme. He's one of
- 58:08Speaker 2: the better quarterbacks in this scheme. And I think people
- 58:11Speaker 2: are starting to finally understand with Justin Herbert's struggles within
- 58:17Speaker 2: this offense that Hey, maybe this offense isn't as easy
- 58:21Speaker 2: and simple and plug-and-play as we once thought, but there
- 58:24Speaker 2: are certain guys who, once you plug them into this offense,
- 58:28Speaker 2: it just works, and he's one of them. I also
- 58:32Speaker 2: like Mike Washington and Ashton Gentry and how they're spelling
- 58:35Speaker 2: them and how they're back and forth, but Hezekiah Masses,
- 58:38Speaker 2: Hezekiah Masses, the fifth-round rookie corner who's got three interceptions
- 58:44Speaker 2: on the season, I just like it. Mitchell, first off,
- 58:48Speaker 2: I like his name as a guy in masses, but
- 58:51Speaker 2: a fifth rounder making plays, catching a football, turning the
- 58:54Speaker 2: ball over. He's going to factor in that defense. N'Kobe Dean.
- 58:58Speaker 2: N'Kobe Dean is a tone setter. Mitchell, you turn on
- 59:01Speaker 2: the tape of the Las Vegas Raiders and you will
- 59:04Speaker 2: see 17 everywhere the ball is. So Mitchell, not so fast. Now,
- 59:09Speaker 2: do I think it's going to be upset there's a
- 59:11Speaker 2: maybe baby I don't know if this four and a
- 59:13Speaker 2: half point spread that Polly Market has is going to
- 59:16Speaker 2: happen I know the Raiders are going to fight I
- 59:20Speaker 2: don't know because they played the Miami Dolphins and not
- 59:23Speaker 2: that it was a close game but it was closer
- 59:25Speaker 2: than you would expect the Miami Dolphins to be to
- 59:28Speaker 2: the Kansas City Chiefs This isn't just same old Raiders. Mitchell,
- 59:33Speaker 2: this is a team that's well coached, formidable, and playing
- 59:37Speaker 2: good football on both sides of the ball.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 59:42Speaker 2: I'm going to give Kansas City the win in this one.
- 59:44Speaker 2: I don't have them covering the spread.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I don't hate that breakdown, but if you're not joining
- 59:49Speaker 1: me in my no doubt about it lock of the week, Richard,
- 59:53Speaker 1: I thought we saw eye to eye on this kind
- 59:55Speaker 1: of stuff, man. I guess you want to pick it
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: and win. I got the chiefs covering with these. I
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: think they're going to win by two touchdowns. This is
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: a division rivalry game. And I just know how Patrick
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Mahomes plays when he gets up for big games. And shockingly,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: this is turning into a big game. Give me Patrick
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Mahomes and the chiefs to cover. And I'll take the
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: money with, with laying it on them on poly market
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: as well. And Richard, another thing, you know, the Raiders
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: offense has been rolling. Poly market gives them a 66%
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: chance to score. More than two and a half touchdowns
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: in this game. Do you see that playing out? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: for the reasons we just talked about. In the red zone,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: they have two big targets, and Michael Mayer and obviously
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Brock Bowers, Trey Tucker, Spiester can get down the field,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: and then Ashton Gentry and Mike Washington Jr.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Are going to do a great job in a run game.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Make sure you guys check out Poly Markets, an alternative
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: traditional sportsbook that keeps you in control of your trades.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Check out Polymarket now.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Our top five going into week four. Mitchell, who do
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: you have in your top five? Richard, like you just said,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: there is an awful lot of parody in this NFL season.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: We talked about it last podcast. It's almost like these
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: first three games have been the preseason where teams that
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: you expect to be good look bad and teams that
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: you expect to be bad look good. And it's tough
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: to shuffle these guys out. I mean, when you look
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: at our top five, we got these in front of
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: us here. I'm rolling with the Bills, number one.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I know it might be a little controversial to folks
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: in San Francisco, but having seen the Bills firsthand, what
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: they did to my Detroit Lions, I got to put
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: them number one. They had a horrendous game last week,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: still came out victorious despite turning the ball over five times.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I like the Bills. The Niners are two for obvious reasons.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: 3-0 look dominant offensively and defensively. Brock Purdy looks like
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: an MVP candidate. I like the Niners at two. I'm very,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: very confident in them in the top two. Number three,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: the rise of the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes with
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: a fresh ACL. Kenneth Walker, K-9. I saw in the
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: comments section after last episode, Richard, a lot of Seattle
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Seahawks fans wishing they paid K-9 and not Rashid Shahid.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Was that a mistake? I don't know, but I like
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: the Chiefs. Number three in my ranks. That brings me
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: to number four, and that is the Seattle Seahawks. Despite
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: losing on the road, I will give them some grace.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: They have been dominant over the last year. I'll cut
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: them some slack in losing this game against Washington. We'll
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: call it, you know, a little time zone hangover situation,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: having to play at 10 a.m.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Pacific time.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: We'll see how they rock out this upcoming weekend. And five,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: that's where there's so many teams up in the air.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: But after watching Monday Night Football, And what Ben Johnson
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: did with a third-string quarterback and a 38-year-old Case Keenum,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I'm rolling with the Chicago Bears at number five. Richard,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: what did I get wrong?
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Mitchell, you started your whole list wrong. At number one,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I got the San Francisco 49ers playing the best football
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: in the National Football League on both sides of the ball.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: And I know, I know, injuries, injuries, injuries. They are
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: devastating right now. But the guy... who gives me the
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: most confidence in the San Francisco 49ers, and I'm going
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: to knock on wood, is healthy, and that's Brock Purdy,
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: who should be in the lead for MVP, but I'm
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: sure Vegas might have Josh Allen. I thought after all
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: the turnovers this week, Josh Allen would fall and Brock
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Purdy would rise, but that didn't happen. Christian McCaffrey continues
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: to look fantastic. Again, Kalon Black is doing a great
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: job spelling him. George Kittle looks fantastic in the pass game.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Had a big game last week. Might have stolen a
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: touchdown from Brock Purdy after a phantom holding call. You know,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: there was some sabotage there, allegedly. But defensively, Fred Warner
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: and Dre Greenlaw continued to just change the outlook of
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: these games. Dre Greenlaw goes out with a quad injury.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Mike Evans goes out with a rib injury. Trent Williams
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: goes out with a stinger. Again, things you do not
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: want to see if you're a San Francisco 49er fan,
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: but I think they're going to be able to overcome
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: these things. It looks like all those guys are potentially
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: going to be available this week, so that's great news.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: This is on top of all the other receivers that
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: they've lost. Deshaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson, Ricky Persall. The list
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: goes on and on. Obviously, they'll get some of these
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: guys back as the weeks progress, but They're still the
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: best team out there, and I think as they continue
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: to develop, Grayson Halton. Grayson Halton. It just sounds like Halton,
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: but I feel like Halton is the way you should
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: say it. But he's been playing fantastic football. He's a
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: diamond in the rough, found gold for the San Francisco 49ers,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: so I like him. Number two on my list, the
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo Bills are a really good football
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: team with an MVP candidate, a quarterback, but there are
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: a lot of question marks. especially on the defensive side
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: of the ball. They played really, really well this week
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: against the Chargers, but the Chargers haven't really played that
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: well against anybody. And they scored the most points they've
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: scored all season against the Bills. And that's not saying
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: much because they've scored 14 against the Raiders and 14
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: against the Cardinals, which, I mean, it is what it is.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: But the Buffalo Bills, the reason they moved to two
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: instead of one in my rankings is the five turnovers
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: they had. They were at home. Josh Allen with some
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: uncharacteristic mistakes, pushing the ball down the field into double
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: coverage against DJ. I mean, with two DJ Moore, that
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: play got intercepted. Another interception in the game gave up
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: a fumble in the game. No. Yes. Yes. Gave up
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: a fumble in the game. James Cook gives up a
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: fumble early in this game. Just too many turnovers for
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: me to be comfortable putting them one. Number three, the
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Kansas City Chiefs. Again, Kenneth Walker. He's a guy that's
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: making a huge difference for this team as Patrick Mahomes
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: continues to find his legs, continues to find his rhythm.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: He's going to go through ups and downs of the season,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: but they have somebody else they can lean on when
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: things aren't going great through the air. Defensively, some young
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: defensive backs learning on the fly. I still like Noel Williams.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: And again, anytime they got an Arias, you guys think
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: I'm joking, but anytime the Kansas City Chiefs have an Arias,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: they make it to that last game. And I know
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: you guys reminded me. There was an Arias I forgot about.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: There's Legereus. There is Charverius. And then there was Kadarius.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Kadarius Doney with the punt return in the Super Bowl. Like,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: when they have an Arias, they end up in that
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: last game. So I feel good about their chances. The
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Seattle Seahawks at number four really head-scratching loss against the
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Washington Commanders. You thought, hey, backup quarterback Jaden Daniels is out.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Marcus Mariota steps in. You thought this Seattle Seahawks defense
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: has been consistent, but Mike McDonald's teams have been consistent
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: on the road. They were 16-2 before taking this loss
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: to the Commanders. They gave up 33 points, so it's
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: kind of back to the drawing board. I'm sure this
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: is going to be a very motivated team when they
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: go back to Seattle to play the LA Chargers. The Broncos.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: The Broncos beat The L.A. Rams, they beat the L.A. Rams,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: the team that everybody coming into this season said had
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: the potential to go undefeated and be world beaters. And
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: just nobody, how could anybody compete against this team and
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: all the talent that they have on paper? Again, this
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: game isn't played on paper. It's played on the grass.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: And these are grown men, and grown men against grown men.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Somebody's going to impose their will, and somebody's not. And
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: right now, people are getting the better of the L.A. Rams.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: And not to say that they're not playing great, Matthew
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Stafford has had some really great moments, especially to Devontae Adams.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: They're missing Puka Nakua, which is a huge part of
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: their offense. They're finding a way. They started the game
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: really fast against the Denver Broncos, but the Denver Broncos
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: turned around in the second half and figured it out,
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: figured it out. Bo Nix figured it out, started pushing
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: the ball down the field. They started to make big plays,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: started to find his playmakers defensively. They started to put
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: some pressure on Matthew Stafford, started to force some mistakes,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: some misthrows, and found a way to pull out a win,
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: and Sean Payton said it. He said, I mean, we're
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: great in these games, and they've been doing a great
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: job coming back in a lot of these games that
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: they had to have, but you don't always have to
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: come back. Sometimes you could just be winning outright. So
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I feel good about this top five, but as always,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: this NFL, anybody can beat anybody, and that's showing more
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: than ever.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I'm already predicting the future here, Richard. There's going to
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: be a couple fan bases that are going to be
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: barking at you here a little bit, and they're going
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: to be barking at me, too. We left out two
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: undefeated teams. That being the Raiders and that being the
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Why?
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I mean, because we both are in agreeance on this.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I think the Raiders just need one more week to
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: prove themselves. If you look at their schedule, I mean,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: some would call it somewhat lucky and weak to open
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: up against the Dolphins, the Chargers, who have not been
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: who people thought they were, and obviously the Saints. But
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I really do like the Raiders. They're right on the cusp,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: but they're more in the 8-9 range for me. And
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: then the Vikings, man, vaunted defense. However, what do they
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: look like offensively? They allowed the Tampa Bay Bucs to
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: hang in that game. I'm still not a believer in
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: the Vikings just yet. Why did you leave them out
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: of your ranks?
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Well, for that reason. I mean, I'm a believer in
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: that defense. I'm a believer in Brian Flores, Dallas Turner,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Blake Cashman, Andrew Van Ginkle. And everything that they've done,
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Isaiah Rogers, Byron Murphy, those guys, Harrison Smith, no question
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: about it. But the offense is a concern. Now, do
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: they have a talented offense? No question about it. And
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Aaron Jones can get it done at any time. But
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Kyler Murray, you know, he has to find his sea legs.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: He has to be more consistent for me to feel
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: comfortable with this offense. Yes, he threw a nice pass
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: to Addison. for a touchdown, which was great. But I don't,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: he just doesn't have the comfort level in this offense
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: yet that gives me confidence that they're going to be
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: like a top 10, top five offense consistently this year.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Maybe that'll change. They're not playing a really tough schedule.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: They got the Miami Dolphins. Then they got Tyler Shuck
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: and the New Orleans Saints. Then they got Indiana Jones
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: and the Indianapolis Colts. And then they got your Detroit Lions.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: So You look for a game where you can say, hey,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: if they beat these guys, then we'll give them respect. Obviously,
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: if the Raiders beat the Kansas City Chiefs, who are
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: in both of our top fives, I think that puts
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: them in the discussion. But until then, it's tough. Now,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: if the Minnesota Vikings start off 5-6-0, you're going to
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: have to put them in there. This is the National
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Football League. It's hard to win that many games in
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: a row. And regardless of what it looks like, they're undefeated.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: They're going to have to get in the top five,
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: no question about it.
