- 0:23show for the future, but I'm not going to talk about Congo

- 0:29guest. Today's guest is The Walking
- 0:32weapon Golden Dragon. Please welcome Big Boss Tyson
- 0:36Keaton. Tyson AB mate, you're good.
- 0:40Thank you for having me. Pleasure time, you're right.
- 0:43Pleasure to have you on a Spicejet Weston.
- 0:44We correct you instantly. You call me The Walking Weapon,
- 0:48and that's Josh Alexander. Damn it got it wrong with that.
- 0:54I'm the I'm the Lizzing weapon. That's what I meant.
- 0:57Damn it, that's. The one.
- 0:59Mate, I do apologise. Well so bad start here.
- 1:01I'm not even going to be recorded.
- 1:02It's going to be sometimes I'll fuck up.
- 1:04Don't have to. That's good.
- 1:05Don't have to. We're live now.
- 1:08Normally I rewind the clocks and find out he got invested and I
- 1:12will get there, but I'm actually going to kick start this
- 1:15interview with you by asking you the questions that were asked to
- 1:19me on my social media when I asked.
- 1:22Let's ask Tyson Keaton some questions.
- 1:24For this interview. I'm going to start with the
- 1:26first one that I received, Ricardo Borg, and know what's
- 1:30your favorite hold? Oh oh geez.
- 1:35Shit, I could be here all day. Give me 3.
- 1:39Give me 3. OK, the sharpshooter or scorpion
- 1:46death lock if you're a fucking nerd, the Koji clutch and the
- 1:56octopus hold. Nice, that's a good move.
- 2:00Yeah, it's a lot of a lot of Japanese stuff.
- 2:02So yeah, there's always going to be Japanese stuff for me.
- 2:05Hope you're happy Ricardo Raymond O'Reilly He would like
- 2:09for you to reveal your favorite match of the year so far.
- 2:15Well, I think you know why he asked that, because he knows.
- 2:19He knows that. I'm going to say it's with him.
- 2:22It was back in August at Bring Me Pro Wrestling, which was
- 2:27against Raymond. And yeah, I mean for this
- 2:31year's, definitely my favorite this year so far, but I'm
- 2:36thinking about it now. No offense to anyone else, I've
- 2:37wrestled at Bring Me Pro Wrestling, but I think it's my
- 2:39favorite match at Bring Me Pro Wrestling so far as well.
- 2:43So I'm I'm very happy with it and I think Raymond is too.
- 2:46So. Nice.
- 2:47Yeah, we beat the piss out of each other, so it's good fun.
- 2:50Sweet, and the last one I've got from the user Ben, Ben Ben Ben
- 2:55for Ben's. I think his name's Ben.
- 2:57Ben has asked if you could change one thing about your
- 3:02wrestling career, what would it be?
- 3:05Oh, deep in. It that's a big question.
- 3:09Who still hasn't done wrong my fluff questions.
- 3:12Jesus. I don't know if it's accusing me
- 3:14of something. I mean so many answers that
- 3:23anyone, any wrestler could give. To be honest, I.
- 3:26Mean it's I think it's a good question, but it.
- 3:28Is a good question. Oh, yeah, I like.
- 3:29I like ones that make me think, Yeah.
- 3:31If it's a straightforward answer though, but yeah, think man,
- 3:33think. Change the only thing like
- 3:38superficial like oh I changed my gear colour and.
- 3:41You know what, because we're going to dissect your career
- 3:44anyway, let's come back to this question at the end all.
- 3:47Right. And then once we've discussed
- 3:49more what you've achieved, how you got into wrestling and a
- 3:51little bit more about Big Boss, then I think that might be able
- 3:56to be answered better. So we will come back to the
- 3:58question Ben for Ben's but. Ben Ben.
- 4:01Ben. Ben.
- 4:02Ben. Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben.
- 4:03So Tyson, we're going to rewind the clocks and I want to
- 4:06discover what made you a wrestling fan.
- 4:10So essentially, it wasn't even through watching wrestling to
- 4:15begin with. It was through video games.
- 4:19It's just very, very just, oh, here's a wrestling video game,
- 4:24started playing it, got obsessed with it, and then went into
- 4:26watching wrestling. I knew I by the way it was
- 4:30Smackdown versus Raw 2008, specifically that one.
- 4:36The ECW 1. Yes, yes, yeah, that ECW went
- 4:39right, right in the middle there, like featuring ECW.
- 4:42It's like, yeah, that you they're here too type thing.
- 4:46But yeah, but I knew I knew about wrestling.
- 4:48It wasn't like, Oh my God, what's this?
- 4:50I knew what it was essentially in in a vague way.
- 4:53I knew all the big names, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, probably the
- 4:58Undertaker, Stone Cold, you know, like the really like the
- 5:00really mainstream outside of wrestling names.
- 5:04And yeah, played that relentlessly.
- 5:06It was actually one of my friends who owned it.
- 5:09He had a PlayStation two. He owned that game and I played
- 5:11it relentlessly. And then once I got a
- 5:13PlayStation 2, that was one of the first games I bought, played
- 5:16that for God knows how many hours and then thought I'll
- 5:21just, I'll just start watching this.
- 5:23And at that time it was on, I believe, Sky Sports.
- 5:27Yeah, Sky Sports 1-2 or three. One of those stayed up that.
- 5:31Well, it's like a stupid lifetime, doesn't it?
- 5:33When it's. Yeah, I mean, I mean sky is
- 5:34still around, but not really, not really uses it really much
- 5:38these days. But yeah, I stayed up till, you
- 5:41know, stupid o'clock in the morning, as probably we all did.
- 5:43Watching Monday Night Raw Live at one 1:00, waking up at 6
- 5:51still still on the. Sofa, that's it.
- 5:53Yeah. Oh God, seen as one again.
- 5:55I mean, you've fed. Up.
- 5:56Yeah, Yeah. Surprise, surprise, yeah, but
- 5:59yeah. And then pretty much from there
- 6:01watched it religiously for years and then as I got into my late
- 6:07teens, like not yeah, about 17/18/19 about then I became I
- 6:14still watched it regularly. I still kept up with the
- 6:16products. Not so much the pay per views,
- 6:18but the roaring Smack down. I would watch when I could.
- 6:21But then I became a bit disillusioned with WWE.
- 6:25Not wrestling, just WWE because I joined.
- 6:29I mean don't mean don't want to be mean, but I basically joined
- 6:33probably one of the worst eras as they transitioned into the PG
- 6:38era like in 2008 onwards. So like I mean at the time I was
- 6:42enjoying it. It was good fun.
- 6:43But as I got older I was like, I don't know if this is for me
- 6:46anymore as I started questioning if I should even keep up with
- 6:49wrestling because I was so like it's it's a kiddie show for
- 6:53kids. Like I appreciate the
- 6:56characters, but I did look up to and enjoy like Undertaker and CM
- 7:01Punk, Randy Orton, you know, list goes on.
- 7:04But like the products and like the stories and the matches,
- 7:07everything got into it was just a bit like this is very
- 7:10predictable and a lot of it's like kind of cringy and like 2
- 7:14Charles you. Know when The Muppets?
- 7:16Oh yeah. Guest host.
- 7:17Of the show. That was pretty fun.
- 7:19That was pretty fun. That was that was fine.
- 7:21I didn't mind The Muppets, but yeah, just.
- 7:24But yeah, the whole, yeah, the guest host of Raw thing that was
- 7:27that overstayed its welcome very quickly.
- 7:30But yeah. But then, so from then is when I
- 7:34started to discover indie wrestling like a lot later.
- 7:38That's good. Which, And it was just just
- 7:41going on YouTube, just looking up like, indie wrestling clips,
- 7:44like matches and, you know, compilations of finishing moves
- 7:48and like, crazy spots. And like the first clip I
- 7:51watched that was just like this, like it's, it's as if I
- 7:54rediscovered wrestling, you know, So I was like a 11 year
- 7:57old again, like playing that Smackdown.
- 8:00All my life, yeah. I know it was basically that I
- 8:03was I was like a fan again. I was become it was like such a
- 8:06low watching WWE for so long and getting so disillusioned with
- 8:11the product. And then just one YouTube clip,
- 8:14you know, seeing like a grainy like 2006 like compilation of
- 8:19like Ring of Honour or something, and like seeing these
- 8:22Japanese wrestlers doing these crazy like stiff strikes on each
- 8:25other. And I'm just like eyes bulging
- 8:27like this is this is what I want now.
- 8:29This is what I want. Yeah, this is my wrestling now
- 8:32on. Yeah, actually, yeah.
- 8:34And then that, that's pretty much all it'd be.
- 8:36And I'd still, because I was basically reignited as a fan
- 8:42again, I would, I would still keep up with WWEI was like, OK,
- 8:45I'll still keep up. But like this, like this, this
- 8:48indie stuff, this, this is my jam now.
- 8:51And from then, like I just like was just on a binge of, you
- 8:55know, Ring of Honour and you know, UK stuff like some Rev
- 8:59pro. I wouldn't actually be watching
- 9:01the actual products. I'd just be watching YouTube,
- 9:03YouTube clips because that's like, that's all.
- 9:06I didn't know where like to find the stuff like and all the stuff
- 9:09that was in America was like likely inaccessible.
- 9:13Yeah, like PWT and stuff. Like unless you ordered from
- 9:17America on a DVD, yeah, that you just wouldn't find a way of
- 9:20finding it. You know, times are hard as
- 9:21well, you know, your teammates just.
- 9:22I'm not going to pay like £30 for a DVD, just one show.
- 9:25No, no YouTube. Oh cool.
- 9:27Like 5 minutes. Kevin Owens against Adam Cole,
- 9:30something like that, you know? Yeah, perfect.
- 9:32Yeah, I I was perfectly content watching highlight videos on
- 9:34YouTube, like like I would still, I would still like get
- 9:37into the matches like, oh, like, Oh yeah.
- 9:41But and then with that, I then discovered my obsession with
- 9:47Japanese wrestling. Then I would like be exclusively
- 9:50on that, you know, discover, you know, I'll just be on all Japan
- 9:55NOAA and of course, like up to New Japan Pro Wrestling and like
- 9:59it would almost be exclusively that.
- 10:02And then and then I discovered New Japan Pro Wrestling like in
- 10:06the modern times, loud out there.
- 10:08Like not long after I was going into Japanese wrestling,
- 10:12watching all that, I would find out that New Japan World was
- 10:16starting their subscription that the kind of their WWE Network
- 10:20type thing, their subscription service.
- 10:21I was like, OK, I'll get on that and I'll.
- 10:25Subscribe to New Japan World. I'm surprised.
- 10:28But you've never done WWE Network.
- 10:31I did. Oh, OK, Fair enough.
- 10:33Yeah. I did WWE Network, yes.
- 10:35Yeah, I did both because, yeah, even though I wasn't watching it
- 10:38as much as like Indies and Japanese wrestling, I'd still be
- 10:41like, OK, well, I'll still, I'll still, I'll still keep up when I
- 10:45can, like watch the pay per views.
- 10:47In fact, actually NXT was the only thing I watched from WWE
- 10:52like for a long time, like coming back, especially coming
- 10:55back from the Indies and Japanese wrestling.
- 10:58And then I just couldn't watch any main roster stuff from WWE.
- 11:01Just be NXT like all like any time there was a Takeover, I'd
- 11:07just be like, that's all I'd watch.
- 11:08And then back to the Indies because like NXT at that time,
- 11:12the black and gold, like the old school black and gold era was
- 11:16essentially the Indies. But unlike a bigger production,
- 11:19yeah, that's like mass, just a bigger production value.
- 11:22Yeah. And so like, I obviously loved
- 11:25that shit. Yeah.
- 11:27And then I. Just get sad about thinking
- 11:29about the black and gold era. Just I loved it so much.
- 11:32Yeah, I still rewatched like, like, like, like clips and
- 11:35matches like it was such a good time.
- 11:38But yeah. And then that's, that's kind of
- 11:41my fan journey. And then when I initially
- 11:46thought, oh, like I I'm kind of like engrossed in this more,
- 11:52more than a fan. Like I'm like watching this now,
- 11:54like, oh, wait, I, I kind of want to like be there.
- 11:58I want to like do that now. Yeah.
- 12:00And it was just building and building and building, but I was
- 12:02just stopping myself because I'd just be like, Nah, that's I'm
- 12:05not going to. I'm going to start wrestling
- 12:07like, because physically I, I knew I could do a lot of the
- 12:10things. That's why my excitement was
- 12:13building to try it, because of my background in martial arts
- 12:16and gymnastics, which also. Oh, it's going to come to that,
- 12:19but I'm glad you've. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:22It's all, it's all coming together, yeah, which has
- 12:24influenced basically my character and my style of
- 12:27wrestling. Yeah.
- 12:28And the, the wrestler that inspired me to actually like do
- 12:33it, like go to my first training session was Juicing Thunderliga.
- 12:39Like out of everyone I've watched for years and years in
- 12:42WWE, these like large little life characters, all these like
- 12:45guys in the Indies in Ring of Honour and Noah, all these
- 12:48Japanese wrestlers. It was just I saw Juicing
- 12:51Thunderliga wrestle and I'm just like, he's, he's just great.
- 12:57I can't actually explain. Awesome.
- 12:59Modestly, mate. I remember like seeing him live
- 13:02and I met him. He wasn't the character, it
- 13:04could have been anyone, but I knew it was him and I was just
- 13:05like, Oh my God, it's so cool. Yeah, no, he he's, he's a man.
- 13:09He's he's the greatest. And like the reason like he
- 13:12influenced me so much is because he just did, he just did
- 13:15everything. He was like, I think like one of
- 13:18the best, like all around wrestlers like to ever do it.
- 13:22It's like he he had the he could do the striking, did the high
- 13:25flying and he like could do the power moves as well.
- 13:28Like even had the career places, I know people associate more
- 13:31like the Rock or Austin stuff, but like just like if you don't
- 13:34watch the stuff was like how he comes out and how he looks and
- 13:37there's little things he does in the ring.
- 13:38Like he just put it all together.
- 13:40He was just. Yeah, like all of that on top of
- 13:42it, on top of like, you know, character.
- 13:44Yeah, like his presence and the this overused word I don't like
- 13:48using, but aura essentially like, yeah, you had like
- 13:52everything. Like crossing that one out Aura.
- 13:55Yeah, yeah, I. Think I called.
- 13:58Nah, that's cool, man. Also, like I just never really
- 14:00heard anyone say maybe over 250 episodes now, Juice and Lager
- 14:04was pretty much the inspiration for essentially getting in the
- 14:06ring. And that's what I want to move
- 14:08on to now is when you did get in the ring, where did you begin
- 14:12your training and when? So when it was, I mean it wasn't
- 14:19that long ago, but like because wrestling timeline, everything
- 14:22just kind of fades in to 1. I think it was like the late
- 14:262021 or early 2022. I started with DKW, the drop
- 14:31Kicks, which is in Purfleet, based in Purfleet, Essex.
- 14:35And I was just because it was, it's super close by.
- 14:41Like I think it's about less than 20 minutes from me.
- 14:43I'm based in Brentwood, Essex and they, they've been around
- 14:47since the 90s. You know, I'd looked at like
- 14:50some of the guys that had come through there and I thought, no,
- 14:53just, I just try it. Like I just wanted to just have
- 14:57a go. It wasn't anything like, Oh
- 14:59yeah, I'm going to, you know, I'm going to be fucking sick.
- 15:02I'm going to be the next Juicing Thunder Liger in like like a
- 15:04month. Wembley Stadium, here I come.
- 15:07Yeah, fucking all in, baby. But yeah, yeah, it was literally
- 15:13just have a have a go. But I didn't have any
- 15:17expectations. I was just like, just have a go.
- 15:20And I even then, like, I think everyone feels this like before
- 15:23I had that, I was like really nervous.
- 15:27It's a really common thing where people like, start their
- 15:29journey, but it's a very common like trope, I guess is the word.
- 15:33Like when people talk about their journeys in the past, when
- 15:36they went to their first session, they're like, oh God, I
- 15:38was really. That's really nerve wracking.
- 15:40You know anyone? You know anyone?
- 15:41Yeah, there's a new environment. I don't know what I'm doing.
- 15:43Like, how do I, I've seen it on TV, but how do I, how do I
- 15:47actually wrestle? But yeah, luckily, like
- 15:51thankfully most places, most schools, it's very chill, easy
- 15:55environment like, and yeah, I can't remember exactly what I
- 16:00did. Oh, no, no, no, I do remember
- 16:04they're actually doing promos in the in the very first session I
- 16:07did though, they just happened to be doing some promos as well.
- 16:10They had the ring sets up, they were doing a ring session, but
- 16:12like that was the splitting that up some, some people doing
- 16:15promos outside and then they would come back in and do some
- 16:19ring sessions. So I was a bit, it was a bit
- 16:21daunting, like trying to do a like just on the fly promo in
- 16:28your first, in your first ever training session.
- 16:30I can't even remember what it was.
- 16:31It was I was going. To say, do you remember like
- 16:32what you said like roughly? Some corny.
- 16:37Shit. Like I think, I think it was
- 16:40just like, oh, you're you're wrestling Lucas Jackson this
- 16:44Sunday, Like go. So I was just like, so like
- 16:49deadpan, like fucking like, yeah, I'm going to, yeah, I'm
- 16:54going to fucking yeah. Lucas Jackson this Sunday, the
- 16:5720, whatever the fuck, I'm going to get you.
- 17:00I'm going to knee you in the face.
- 17:03And that was. Just take my money, yeah?
- 17:06Yeah, I'm going to drive my kneecap through your skull,
- 17:09bitch. I don't think I said bitch, but
- 17:12I should have done. Would have been better.
- 17:13So. You talk about your best Primo,
- 17:16but tell me about the first match you have.
- 17:18Also how long was it that you trained for until you had your
- 17:22in ring debut? Oh, right.
- 17:28I think it's about four or five months.
- 17:33Yeah. Yeah, around that time, four or
- 17:35five months until I had my singles debut.
- 17:37But technically, if you want to count it, my actual debut was in
- 17:41a battle royal. Yeah.
- 17:42So I'd say about four months. That's such a that's such a
- 17:45British thing, isn't it? The battle royal debut.
- 17:47It's it's everyone. It's, I mean, that's, that's
- 17:49just a wrestling thing. That's, that's everyone, like
- 17:51everyone's debut match is a Rumble battle royal Monty man
- 17:55schmoz thing, which is fine. You're in there for a few
- 17:58minutes and then you're, you're out there.
- 18:02You're basically builds like, even though it's like a quick
- 18:05like 1-2 minute thing for the most part, like it does build a
- 18:08degree of confidence just being out there.
- 18:10Yeah, I don't understand that. Yeah.
- 18:12Even if you're like like in the in a massive shuffle of like 12
- 18:16other fucking guys all just like throwing arms and legs.
- 18:20But you're able to like get yourself out a bit spotlight
- 18:22like Torn. One thing was like, yeah, come
- 18:23on, that's it. No.
- 18:27Straight out no. No, straight out I dozen strikes
- 18:31in and then try to like hoof over a like in bodybuilder Ian
- 18:39Frost. Don't I have, you know, do you
- 18:41know Ian? Yeah, I've had Ian Frost.
- 18:43Yeah, I tried to hoof him over. He wasn't having it and then
- 18:48launched and then launched me out.
- 18:50Yeah, that was fun. But yeah, my singles debut was
- 18:53about a month or two after that. It was against Taylor James.
- 18:55Oh. Nice.
- 18:57Yeah. So yeah, that was a that was a
- 18:59good debut in terms of debut matches.
- 19:01Like not to toot my own horn, but could have been a lot worse.
- 19:05Like it was like it was very good for like a first, a first
- 19:10singles match, especially someone like against him.
- 19:13He may or may have not reunited of him not long ago.
- 19:17Yeah, maybe just kind of sporadically just joined forces
- 19:21because of our, yeah, combined hatred of Lucas Jackson.
- 19:27Sorry, Lucas, I like you. Don't worry, there's many people
- 19:30that do, but you know. Yeah, we just sided.
- 19:32Yeah. Now it's going to be Emma.
- 19:35Hello there, I've got a special announcement for my next guest.
- 19:39Hi there. My name is Abby Cartwright, and
- 19:41I am the author of Resting's most highly anticipated novel,
- 19:44The Abby Cartwright Chronicles, and you can find me as the next
- 19:47guest on the What Do You Call It podcast.
- 19:50You heard we just took a quick break then, so I was just going
- 19:57to ask Tyson about his look. So if you've lived under a rock.
- 20:03You have to have seen his style. His wrestling style is very
- 20:05unique. He can do aerial, he can do
- 20:07ground, he can do submission, he can do it all essentially.
- 20:11I think even when he comes out of his entrance and you see his
- 20:15look, the mask is awesome. You know, I think your attire is
- 20:18really cool, but I just want to know the inspiration for this
- 20:20mate. Yeah.
- 20:23So essentially because of my martial arts background
- 20:28specifically, I guess is like the main link to it because I
- 20:32did Muay Thai. So like like, you know, so I
- 20:37mean, all, all forms of Asian martial arts and like mythology
- 20:41have that connection like to the dragon essentially.
- 20:46So again, like that was that was just the main like portion of
- 20:50it. And there's a lot, I know
- 20:53there's a lot of Dragons in professional wrestling that
- 20:55thought, well, how could I make my I got to make my my presence
- 21:01essentially my dragon persona, like stand out ascent basically
- 21:06because you got like American dragon, like this dragon, Shingo
- 21:10Takagi, the Rampage dragon. Eat the dragon Steamboat, Yeah.
- 21:13Yeah, the dragon. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:15It can't be the dragon. He's the dragon.
- 21:16He's the only the dragon. Yeah.
- 21:19And. And it was essentially just
- 21:22going, well, what's like a really kind of regal kind of
- 21:27like eye-catching presence or gold and, and, and it's like
- 21:32color gold anyway. So it just became the golden
- 21:35dragon. And that that just like kind of
- 21:38morphed into basically all of my gear with my logo, like my
- 21:42shorts and my tights and I'll see the mask.
- 21:45I don't just came together with that essentially.
- 21:49Mate, you pull it off. Who designed the mask, by the
- 21:51way? I don't know if I want to reveal
- 21:57but the mask actually is because it's less cool.
- 22:02Now, Joe, I know as an interview I should be asking the
- 22:05questions. Suppose I actually really like
- 22:07it and I don't want to, you know, when you used to go magic
- 22:10show you don't reveal too much, So I'm sorry.
- 22:12Listen I will, Tyson. I will tell you.
- 22:16Off the recording, off the record, I'll tell you.
- 22:20I will just tell the answer to the people I don't want to know
- 22:22I'm joking. But yeah, no, the the actual
- 22:27background of the mask is less extravagant than the mask
- 22:30itself. Although I did paint the mask
- 22:33myself. It's not much of A brag because
- 22:34it's only one color. Painted myself nice, so I'll
- 22:38take credit for that. It is cool man, I really like
- 22:41it. I think the attire is really
- 22:42cool as well, but the in ring style that you have, like I said
- 22:46before the break, you know, I've had the pleasure of calling some
- 22:48of your matches in DKW Academy this star.
- 22:51Do you feel that the MU tire background that you have has
- 22:55really enhanced your wrestling career, really benefited you
- 22:59when you it makes you stand out, doesn't it really?
- 23:02Not to take away from your opponents or anything, but just
- 23:04make you. Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 23:07Like not just not just in terms of the gear, Yeah, because like
- 23:12with the Muay Thai shorts, it's obviously very light wall.
- 23:15And then it's got like the it's got the yeah, like all like the
- 23:19decorations and everything on it.
- 23:21So it's very striking. But my actual like fighting
- 23:24style, my in ring style, I would say like for sure it's helped
- 23:28me. It's helped, it's helped me
- 23:30actually like discover an identity like in wrestling
- 23:35rather than because I no, I mean, no one ever wants to be
- 23:38just just another wrestler. Now there's anything wrong with
- 23:42that. You can just be a wrestler.
- 23:44If you're like really good and you can connect with the crowd,
- 23:48that's, you know, that's great. Like if you can do that with
- 23:51like, you know, really, you know, really simple things like
- 23:56that, that's great. That's what we should all be
- 23:57striving for. But it's also important to
- 23:59think, OK, I can do these things, but how can I do these
- 24:03things? And like some other things that
- 24:06are like relevant to me personally, like what am I
- 24:09really good at as well as, you know, the actual wrestling which
- 24:12everyone should be good at. And that's where I like, you
- 24:16know, took inspiration from my obviously my martial arts and
- 24:19gymnastics background, which I still train in obviously, and
- 24:23just just combine them. So my offense is predominantly
- 24:27striking and I mix in some high flying offense here and there,
- 24:31like handsprings and springboards like every now and
- 24:35again, like mixed in with the strikes and again, like you
- 24:39should find a Liger a bit of everything got a lot of
- 24:42suplexes, power moves like thrown in there.
- 24:45It's just like you said, like play around and basically be
- 24:48able to match up against pretty much anyone.
- 24:51So if they're like bigger than me, same size as me, smaller
- 24:54than me, you know, it's pretty rare, but it happens.
- 24:57Then you know I've got. You're ready to adapt, aren't
- 25:00you? I can adapt it, yeah, pretty
- 25:02much anything. So that's, that's another way
- 25:04that I think my style really helps and it's helped me stand
- 25:08out that no matter who I wrestle, it's, you know, I've
- 25:11always got something to show off.
- 25:14I do find the fans, like, don't get wrong, they do want to Boo
- 25:17you, but some of the stuff you do pull off in the ring, even
- 25:20you do hear them on the commentary, it's like, oh wow,
- 25:23that's really cool. Oh, I mean, Boo.
- 25:25Like, you know, they're so impressed with your star.
- 25:31Yeah, yeah, that's, that's, that's how I get them when I
- 25:33come out, you know, just, you know, shout in their face, you
- 25:37know, dismissing them like, you know, talking shit to one kid,
- 25:42you know, some, some dad or granddad in the back, like
- 25:45screaming out something, you know, just whatever.
- 25:48Like, and then I'll do some cool handspring heel kick or
- 25:53springboards like missile dropkick, moonsault, whatever.
- 25:56Then they'll start. Then they'll forget they hate
- 25:58me. But you don't.
- 26:00Yeah, I don't. I remind them.
- 26:02I hate, I hate you guys. I remind him after I do my cool
- 26:06move, I'm like, yeah, damn right, shut up.
- 26:10Exactly. Did I let you cheer me?
- 26:12Fuck off, I don't want. You cheer me.
- 26:14I don't want you cheer me. I know I'm cool.
- 26:16You don't have to applaud me. Don't have to cheer me.
- 26:19If you do want to make up to him though, you can buy as much he's
- 26:22got. Some sweets, yes,
- 26:24tysonkeaton.bigcartel.com where you can't find me at shows.
- 26:28Like a pro mate, like a pro. I like it.
- 26:32Just. Oh, what's that?
- 26:34What's that? What's T-shirt?
- 26:37Yeah, what? Have we got a fly on me?
- 26:39What? What?
- 26:42Marketing. Brilliant.
- 26:46I just I just found this. I just threw it on this old,
- 26:48this old thing. Just a few more questions mate
- 26:53and I'll let you enjoy the rest of your evening.
- 26:56I know we've discussed DKW Academy, but I know you've been
- 27:00part of our shows and companies. Tell me, what have been your
- 27:03career highlights so far? Got to emphasize on so far.
- 27:07So far, yes. Well, we've already talked about
- 27:09my my favorite match this year with Raymond at Bringing Pro
- 27:12Wrestling. That's that's always been fun.
- 27:14I've been on. Well, yeah, every single show
- 27:18they've had since they started in October 2023.
- 27:23I want to say, yeah, just just under 2 years.
- 27:26That's when they started. So like, wrestling with them has
- 27:28been really fun and I've been working a lot more with SOS.
- 27:33They're based in Essex as well, based in Harwich, and I've been
- 27:37doing all the stuff with them here and there whenever they
- 27:39come down, like further South, close to me, like slightly
- 27:43further away. And I'll be debuting for the
- 27:46Charter Hall show on the 28th of September.
- 27:50Oh, in Colchester? Yes.
- 27:51Nice. Yeah, that'll be my.
- 27:53That'll be the largest crowd that I've worked in front of so
- 27:56far is. That the one with Scott Tihotie
- 27:58or Rhino? Yes, yes, nice Rhino.
- 28:00Rhino was on the last one. It's.
- 28:01Got on this one. Yes, on that on that show, I
- 28:04think they pretty much like had a legit sell out for that one.
- 28:07And this one's shaped up to be like still just as good.
- 28:10So that'll be fun. Yeah.
- 28:11Scott Tihotie and his son in A tag team match, I believe.
- 28:14I don't think it's announced yet, but they normally tag
- 28:17together. That's sweet mate.
- 28:19Sweet bit of Wrestleforce as well.
- 28:21You made your debut about a year or two ago, didn't you?
- 28:23Maybe. Yeah, yeah, back in November,
- 28:25Yeah, Debut with Wrestleforce, Yeah, like to get in with them
- 28:28and UKPW. I recently.
- 28:31Debuted this year, done a couple of shows.
- 28:33Really like to be a regular if I can with them.
- 28:37They're really fun. They're really fun to work with.
- 28:40Before I ask my famous question, if you wants to return the
- 28:43podcast, let's say next 2-3 years, what would you personally
- 28:48like to have achieved in that time period?
- 28:55I think I know what I if I had to assume, I think Japan, but I
- 28:59know. That's, that's, that's, that's
- 29:02that's been on my bucket list since since I started wrestling,
- 29:04to be honest. Yeah, that's always there.
- 29:06Yeah, yeah. Nothing, yeah, nothing too
- 29:10out-of-the-box. Like not like I say like, oh,
- 29:12it's going to be New Japan or nothing like Noah, but for sure
- 29:18wrestle in Japan. I think, I think just wrestle,
- 29:22yeah, wrestle in Japan slash internationally, like by, you
- 29:27know, in the next two or three years for sure.
- 29:29Like I think I should be able to achieve that.
- 29:32If I wasn't better, man, I'd put good money on that.
- 29:35Thank you. Yes, and another medium long
- 29:39term goal as well is to essentially be wrestling every
- 29:44week, every weekend. It doesn't matter where, just
- 29:47like that. I want that kind of consistent
- 29:50schedule like getting my name out there no matter where it is
- 29:53like you know you know DKW, Wrestleforce, UKPWSOS, Catch 22
- 29:59for that to mention them. I train with them as well.
- 30:02They do shows in greys so every now and again and of course ref
- 30:07pro. I trained at Ref Pro at London
- 30:09School, so ref Pro is definitely definitely a.
- 30:15Goal. I don't see why not.
- 30:16I'll put it that way. Yeah, I'm not just saying it's
- 30:18podcaster, but I'm saying it's a fan as well.
- 30:20I just don't see why not. That's what I say, yeah.
- 30:23One day on purpose. Purpose Wrestling in London.
- 30:26Purpose. Yeah, we can use this quote in
- 30:292-3 years time and I think that would be achieved.
- 30:30I'm just saying. Yeah, hopefully don't jinx it.
- 30:34Come back in five years and I'm still at DKW.
- 30:37Lucas is just literally never going to allow me to speak to
- 30:40anyone from DKW now. I see.
- 30:45No, not really. Yeah, so you're saying about
- 30:48purpose as well? Yeah, basically, yeah, just try
- 30:50and debut purpose. Like I feel nothing's nothing's
- 30:55set in stone yet. Nothing's official, but I feel,
- 30:58I feel that that will happen sooner, sooner or later.
- 31:01So that's great, man. Last question, the famous
- 31:04question. This doesn't have to be
- 31:06resonated. It's up to you, Tyson.
- 31:07You are going to be the host. 3 dream dinner guests for your
- 31:11dream party. They can be dead.
- 31:13They can be alive. Past present, fiction,
- 31:15nonfiction. But I want 3 guests.
- 31:19Quick reason as to why you want them there.
- 31:20Give me #1 Tyson go. Well, it's gonna be juicing
- 31:25Thunder Liger, because he's the man.
- 31:28In question, why not? In costume, Yes.
- 31:32In yes. Come on.
- 31:34Then what we're doing here if he's not in.
- 31:35Costume otherwise, otherwise it's just just some, just some
- 31:38nice, nice, funny old Japanese man.
- 31:40And that's nice. But that's not just my I want
- 31:43to, I want to do the Mandeliger at my dinner party.
- 31:46But yeah, it's got to be him. The guest of honour, Bruce Lee.
- 31:54Yeah, because we were talking about me being a martial artist
- 31:58and a lot of my inspirations come from, you know, Japanese
- 32:01wrestling and movies, video games, and then obviously
- 32:06particularly Bruce Lee, which is the inspiration for my other
- 32:11name, Big Boss. So for sure Bruce Lee and. #3.
- 32:24#3. A final guest.
- 32:27Should have thought about this more dead or alive as well,
- 32:32right? Yeah.
- 32:36I'm, I'm just trying to keep it. I keep thinking keeping it
- 32:39wrestling related. I'm trying to think of like
- 32:41million wrestlers. What about one of The Muppets?
- 32:46You stood up for them earlier. That's.
- 32:48One of The Muppets. Yeah, Kermit.
- 32:50Epic, Deuce and Liger. Deuce and Liger, Bruce Lee and
- 32:55Cover the Frog. Yeah, sick.
- 32:58Yeah, I think that's a good idea for some merch or maybe get
- 33:01worth the licensing, but you know.
- 33:03I just change the colours of them and change the.
- 33:05Names. You're so weird.
- 33:07Yeah, like Fermit the crog. And he's orange.
- 33:11There you go, love it. See that being a gimmick in DKW
- 33:13actually. Don't you don't.
- 33:16Don't say that because Lucas will do it.
- 33:19You know the debut and you'll be the opponent.
- 33:22Lucas. There's some ideas for you,
- 33:23mate. I want some cash on that one.
- 33:25Yeah, I want, I want double for that booking.
- 33:29Tyson, been a great chat with you.
- 33:31We plugged the sweet merch that you have.
- 33:34They may see it at some shows if they're lucky enough to still be
- 33:38at the end, but where can they also find you on social media so
- 33:42they can keep up to date with what you've got lined up for the
- 33:44rest? Of the year, yes.
- 33:46So my Instagram is Tyson Keaton, big Boss, and I've also got a
- 33:51Facebook which is just Tyson Keaton and I put in my BIOS
- 33:56mainly on my Instagram is more active than my Facebook.
- 33:58So follow me on Instagram. I always list the upcoming dates
- 34:02that I'm doing shows on so for the for the rest of the month,
- 34:06so September, I think at this point to SOS.
- 34:12So on the 20th, I'm at Sawbridgeworth.
- 34:15Then like I said before, on the 28th is the Colchester charts
- 34:19all show. It's a really cool venue.
- 34:20By the way. Have you been there?
- 34:22The charts all Yeah. No, I've seen pictures, though.
- 34:24It's cool. It's cool, yeah.
- 34:26Very cool. Very big.
- 34:28It's a good venue mate so good luck to that show.
- 34:30I'm sure I will see you at DKW Academy soon.
- 34:34Not sure what the match will be but I look forward to seeing you
- 34:36there and just seeing what you got lined up as well.
- 34:39But I'll keep you up to say what you got lined up.
- 34:41Thank you for coming on. This is actually Tyson's first
- 34:44interview. You would never actually believe
- 34:45it as well because you're so confident was broken.
- 34:48And he? Was able to like that sweet
- 34:51match before I did mate, so I'm proud of you mate.
- 34:54Thanks for coming on mate. Like this video?
