- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Good morning.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: It's a good morning for me.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: I'm glad to be here.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I get to say some good things about God again.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: So I uh I appreciate you uh giving us your your time this morning.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: I um I'm excited about what I have to bring this morning.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Uh but I want to first of all I want to acknowledge a couple of friends that came to see me this weekend and stayed with me last night and they're here this morning and and maybe you've heard of them because they're pretty prominent on social media, and that's Ted Nelson and his wife Georgie.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: And they're yeah, wave here, everybody.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And uh and uh if if you're not their friends on social media, you need to be because they're they're good, they're wonderful, they they're they're they're full of grace.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Um and and Ted is a clown, and he is and he's a little bit irreverent, and that's why you'll love him, and he loves the Lord.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: But um they also have created a website, and I wanted to make sure I mentioned this before I got into this.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: They created a website called locate graceministries.com.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And how many of you have have uh either you've been in a position or you know someone that's asking you, they live in another city somewhere, and they're saying, Do you know of any churches that teach the the fittest work of Christ or teach the grace of God?
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: And uh in a lot of places they're very few and far between.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I know I personally have gotten requests, and when I do, I go to locate graceministries.com because they put together this list of ministries and churches all over the world that you can easily find.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And when a friend asks you, uh, is there a church like that anywhere near us?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: you can go to locate graceministries.com and say, Yes, there is, there's one right right here.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So I appreciate uh your your work for the body of Christ in in doing that.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Um so today I I get I've titled this um I gave it a uh I gave it a title that was gonna be kind of smooth and and and cute and and uh and and pretty and easy.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And um I called it uh a God's eye view.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: And by that I mean seeing as God sees or seeing what God sees.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Uh it's really about seeing beauty, and really uh I'm I'm we're gonna I'm gonna talk I'm gonna talk about darkness and really what is darkness.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And I didn't want to just name the title darkness because it sounds funny, but but you know, we're not all cheer, yay, let's hear it for darkness.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: But but um as we get into this, I think you'll see, you know, when we say darkness, when we talk about darkness, you know, we're talking spiritually, darkness, uh I think a lot of us have the idea that there's this, there's this, I don't know, some kind of a cosmic push and pull uh between light and darkness.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: There's a force of light which is we which would be God and all that he is for, and then there's this force of darkness.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: And and there's in fact there's even novels written about it and all that, and we think of of of of warfare and and and things.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, I want to say, you know, we sang about the greatness of our God this morning.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And there is nothing that compares.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: There is not some almost equal opposite force of God in operation uh uh out there.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Um I don't even believe, in fact, uh I was talking with uh with Gallo out there this morning, and we were talking about how we used to.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: For me, it was it's a used to.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: I used to think everything was the devil, every little thing that happened.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: If I stubbed my toe at night going to the bathroom, the devil did that somehow.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: It wasn't me.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: I know it wasn't my fault.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: It had to be, you know, the devil was scheming somehow.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Every little thing.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And I had this idea that the devil had all this power and he was making all these things happen uh somehow.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: But then over time, if you read it in the Bible about the devil, and then the devil is mentioned, if you read about it, all it is is lies and deceptions, uh, mostly with accusations and condemnations.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: And it's not about creating it's creating winds and earthquakes and all.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: We don't see any of that demonstration of power from this character or characters we call devils.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Uh what we see is is slander, we see libel, we see accusation, we see lying, we see condemning, we see shaming.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: These are the things that we see, and these are the things that have condemned and hurt mankind.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Um one time I was, this was not long after I was uh married to Judy, we both were in uh Arizona, and we were uh we were going to do an Easter sunrise service in uh on an Indian reservation, the Tahno Autumn uh Reservation down in South Arizona, down by the down by the border, out in the desert.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: And uh I had been there before, and and you know, you fly into Phoenix and then you drive that road down through, down to where where the reservation is, uh where the church was in the reservation, uh, and you you'll at one point you'll pass through this beautiful saguaro forest.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, big, giant saguaros all around, and I just and it's just glorious because that's something I don't see very often.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And uh so Judy and I were passing through that that same area, but it was pitch black because we were, we we had left Phoenix early that morning to get there for a sunrise service.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: So it was dark while we were driving through there.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And there's this is way out in the desert.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: There's not a house light or anything anywhere near.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: It is like pitch black.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: And and as we were driving through that area where I knew the Sawaro Forest was, I was telling Judy, I said, I wish you could see where we're at right now, because out there is this beautiful Sawaro Forest, and it's just it's just something to behold.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: And I described it to her, and she's got a good imagination, and she believed me, but she couldn't see it.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Um so we do the sunrise service, and of course the sun comes up while we're doing the service, and it was it was beautiful and all that.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And then when we're after we had left the place later on, we'd get to drive through it, and she sees what uh how beautiful it was.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: My point about this whole thing was was that that beauty was always there, but it just couldn't be seen because of the darkness.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: It wasn't any less beautiful because the beauty was still there.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: In fact, if we turned all the lights off in this house right here, right now, everything that's here would still be here.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: But you just couldn't see it.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: And this is the way it is with the kingdom of God.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: This is the way it is with all of God and all of his glory and all of his kingdom and all of his works and all that he has prepared.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: These things are in the here and now.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: In fact, Jesus said, uh, change your mind or change, look again, think again, change the way you're looking at this or thinking about this, because the kingdom of heaven's at hand.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Somebody, the lights turned on.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Somebody saw something there.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: And that's the key to the whole thing.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: You know, we there's a there's an old hymn that uh that says, I once was blind, but now I see.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: I love my salvation.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I love the transformation that has taken place in my life.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And I don't mean that I just once was a bad person and now I'm a good person.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: It's more like a transformation.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: It's more like a change in the way that I see things and the way that I think of things, and the way I feel about things because my vision has changed.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: I see things that I once never saw.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: I see beauty that I did not know existed at one point in my life.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I see love that I did not, could not even imagine at one point in my life, but I see it now.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: I'm so much aware of it.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: It's like I'm beholding that beauty.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And we call that the apocalypse, or that word is revelation.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: We call that unveiling.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: We call that the opening of the eyes, we call it rising and shining because our light has come and now we see.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: And this is what the real Christian life really is.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: It's a life of seeing something.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: It's not that we just had these bad habits and now we have good habits, and maybe the habits have changed because of what you see.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: I know that's true for me.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: But it's all about the vision.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: You know, there was a blind man that Jesus healed, you know, when he was calling out to Jesus, and Jesus uh told his ushers, you know, bring them to me.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And so they bring this blind man out in the street where Jesus was.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: They bring him out, they lead this blind man out there, and Jesus watches them, bringing this blind man to him, and then Jesus says, What do you want me to do for you?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: He's blind.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: He's obviously blind.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And I remember thinking, with all due respect, Lord, even I could figure that one out.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: But then I realized, you know, you can be blind and not ask for your vision because there's many other things that you could want.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: There's a there's a lot of temporary needs that that he's needing because a lot of it's because of his blindness.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: He could have asked for food, he could have asked for money, he could have asked for clothing, he could have asked for something because he was a beggar.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: And he was a beggar because he was blind.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: But he didn't ask for food or clothing or or money or what he asked for was for his vision, because if he could see, he would not be the same again.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't have to beg again.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: If he could see, he could get the food.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: If he could see, things would change.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I think a lot of us, we we it's it's easy in this life to get focused on the temporary things that we deal with in this life when the biggest need or the biggest blessing we can have is to be able to see, because seeing the beauty and the power and the glory of God causes automatic faith.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: And come on, I'll take that.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Trust.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Trust in a wonderful God because you see a wonderful God.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: And you wake up believing that, you wake up aware of that because spiritually you can see.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: How many know I'm talking about spiritually seeing, not just physical here?
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Second Peter, let's get into this.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: 2 Peter chapter 1, verse 19 is a verse that I want to uh I want to read.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: And in the New Living Translation, it says it this way.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Now, this is this is Peter talking about we saw Jesus on that holy mountain that we call transfiguration.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Remember that story?
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: And he says, because of that experience, we have an e we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets, all of the Old Testament stuff that pointed to Jesus.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: He said, Because of what we've seen, we've got greater confidence in that message.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You must pay close attention to what they wrote, because their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: In other words, that thing is pointing to a light here, and he says, until the day dawns, and Christ the morning star shines in your hearts.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: That's the transformation.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the supernatural, spiritual something that happens when the heart turns to the Lord and you behold the goodness, the glory, the beauty, the power, the majesty of the Lord and all that that he entails, and it's a change that takes place, and he says, Jesus came.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: In fact, John called him the light, right?
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: The book of John says, you know, John the Baptist was preaching, he was not the light, but he was talking about the light, but Jesus was the light, the light of the world.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Well, what's the light of the world?
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: The light of the world is that one that came.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: And while you're standing in the middle of a beautiful forest and you can't see it, but then the light comes, boom, all of a sudden everything changes.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: In fact, you might even have a lot of fear while you're in the dark, because you don't, you don't know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: You're kind of, you're quit what the Bible would call lost.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: You don't see.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Psalms 27, uh, verse 4, David was writing, and he says, I love this verse.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: I love it, especially if you change it to a now word and not a, and don't keep it in the past.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: He says, One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: We see a desire here.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And one of the things he desired, he said, I want to be able to behold the beauty of the Lord.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Now, I believe from what I read in the Old Testament, it seems like people would get some good glimpses and touches and some things of, they would see certain things.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: But he wanted to abide there.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: He wanted to behold, he wanted to be able, because he apparently has experienced something or enough to know that that's where the good stuff is.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Where the stuff I need, where the stuff that gives me, that gives me faith, the stuff that that that that that encourages me, the stuff that that that that that I need, he says, I want to be able to abide in that place so I can behold the beauty of the Lord.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: I love that that was an Old Testament uh cry of a person that's actually talking about something that's fulfilled in those whose spiritual eyes are open because we're in the place and in the day, because our light has come.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Jesus, the light, has come, and we're here where we can behold the beauty of the Lord all the time.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: Now, the reason that he's not seen there is because this thing called darkness, this veil of darkness.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Now, what is that?
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Darkness is simply ignorance.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: It's obscurity, it's blindness, it's just not being able to see.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: That's all it is.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: And I know what it is to be in that kind of ignorance and blindness and darkness.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: I know what it is when people would even try to tell me about God and it just didn't register.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I just could not see, could not conceive of it.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: But somehow, in some way, and I don't can't even honestly explain to you how and why it happened, but it did.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Well, I know God was good, but why me specifically at that time, I don't, I don't know.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: But but the day dawned and a light shined, and I I began to see something.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And ever since that time, it seems like I've been seeing more and more and more, and I love that I'm that that after so many decades of this, it's not slowing down.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: I'm still beholding and seeing.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: And the purpose of this today is really not just to define something that gives us more education about it, but to inspire or to or to to give to let you feel like you've got the license to look past a lot of the darkness of this of this age, of this day, and a lot of the lies that are going on, and a lot of the um the distractions that keep us from beholding the beauty and the glory of God.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Because what we see, you know, the Old Testament Isaiah said, you know, the Lord dwells in a thick blackness.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: That's that that's that blindness, that's that people not knowing him.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: But the light comes and changes that.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: And when we look past the darkness, we see the reality of God, and that's where we fall in love.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: I think that's what happened when I finally got a grace awakening.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: That's when, man, that's when the sun started shining bright in my heart, and I got a grace awakening, and I fell in love with the true God, and I realized that that this God that I had turned to years ago, I still had a lot of deceptions about him because there was still darkness there.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: And you know what we do if we don't, if we're not aware of it, what we can do?
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Is because we may be looking through a cloud of darkness, we can ascribe some of that darkness to God.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: I know I did that.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: I was trying to behold God, but I was still blinded in some ways, in a lot of ways.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: And so I misinterpreted some things, and I put some of that darkness on God, and I thought, well, that's how God is.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: And you do that, and and you'll do that with yourself.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I know I did that.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: That's why I I had so much guilt and shame even as a Christian, because I was putting a lot of that darkness that I was seeing up on me.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: That I'm still a bad guy trying to get better, trying to please God.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: I'm still a dirty dog trying to please God, trying to become a good child of God.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: And and and I see that's a mixture there, and what I'm doing is I'm applying some of the darkness that I can't see that I'm not seeing through.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: I'm applying some of that to the picture.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: And I think it's accurate.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: And especially I would apply it to other people.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: I'd apply it to you.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'd see, I'm trying to see you through this darkness, but this darkness has all kinds of guilt and shame and accusations, and like, ah, your motives are horrible, your motives are bad, you're against me, you're uh you're you know, I think you've got a devil, you you know.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't think like that now.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: The light has gotten brighter.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And I see beauty.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I do, I see beauty.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Can I see your mistakes?
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you can see mine quite often.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't deter from the beauty that that you see when the light is shining upon it.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Huh?
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And the beauty of God's creation, which you and I are a part of, uh, it's not a deception.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: In fact, we don't need the blood of Jesus to to mess up God's eyes so he can't see how ugly we are.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Because we're wonderfully made, and and what he made when he made you and me, it was beautiful.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And that was something that has been a hard thing for me to accept in my life.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: The only way I could was that the light had to get bright enough where I could see, wow, God loves me.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I'm still, I'm still getting a revelation.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: I just just past week a uh I felt like a light turned on a little brighter where it's like this this truth about I'm more valuable than the birds.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: I was reading that this week.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: I know, sounds sounds so simple, right?
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you would have asked me, I would have said, sure I am, because I've read it a whole lot of times and it makes sense.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: But man, to there's something about spiritually seeing him, and it's like, Father, I really am more important than they are.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: You really do love me.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: You you certainly will care for me more.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: You do care for me more than the birds.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: I am more important.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: 2 Corinthians 3.18 says this from the Passion Translation.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I once was blind, but now I see.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: And with no veil, we become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory, or I say the goodness.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Or this morning I say the beauty.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: The beauty of the Lord.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: We're being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord who is who it who is the Spirit.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: It's so it's it's so interesting how I've discovered over over time how what we behold is what we reflect.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: And I love my transformation because I was reflecting a whole lot of darkness at one time.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: And I love this.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: And I and I and I love seeing the growth that comes from the light because I I love seeing, I actually love and still get wonderfully pleasantly surprised when I see love coming out of me.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wow, that was that was beautiful.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: When when graciousness comes out, when many are even telling me they don't deserve it, and graciousness comes out anyway, it's like, oh, that's beautiful.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: I like seeing that.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And that just came out of me.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Mercy.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: And these are the things Jesus knew all about.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: He said, these are the weightier matters of the law.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: He said, This is what you need to go study.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Go and find out what this means.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: I desire mercy.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're doing all this and sacrifices and other tithe and all that.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: He says, you need, you guys that you you're you're experts at this, at the word, at the at the law, he says, go back and study what it means that I desire mercy.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: You see, I I'm I I'm so excited.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: And I was at a conference last week, and somehow they get they caught wind that I had been called Dr.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Love somewhere because I guess they think I talk about love a lot or something.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: In fact, they introduced me with a song from the 70s about calling Dr.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Love anyway.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: But um, but I'm so excited about that.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: There's I I'm so turned on by it because I never used to see love.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: I didn't know the love that we're talking about existed at all anywhere, and now it shines so bright and it's so beautiful.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: I just want to say, do you see it?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Let's look at it, let's point at it, let's talk about it, let's describe it, let's let's swim in it.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Let's this thing is good, and I see it now, and I didn't used to see it, and it had been here the whole time.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: God always loved me.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: But I felt like the most unloved and unlovable creature that there was, and it was there the whole time.
- 21:24unknown: Right?
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: I like to talk about the the you know, Hagar leaving Abraham and Sarah's house and about to die in the desert and die of thirst, and then God opened her eyes, it says.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: He opened her eyes and she saw the well.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: It was there the whole time.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: But the woman almost died of thirst.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Suffering because of lack of sight, not lack of water.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: There was no lack of water.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: The well was always there.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: There is no lack of love, there is no lack of goodness, there is no lack of abundance, there is no lack of eternal life.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And Jesus, our light, has come to open our eyes to the beauty of this.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: He says, You want some eternal life?
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: There's a well, drink from it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Beauty and goodness.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: And it sh outshines everything.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: And I love what's happening to me.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's making this person who's very rarely been accused of being super intelligent.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: But it's making me aware and kind of wise to some things that I'm seeing, and I'm liking the beauty, and it's and it's and it's captivated me so much that it's not even so tempting anymore for me to be addicted to the blue news that's going on on a lot of the TV things.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: And it's like that's that I mean that that means nothing to me.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: Now, you you you're all you there's enough news going on, you're always going to be aware of what's going on in the world, so don't be don't worry about that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: But I'm not deceived by a lot of the things, and a lot of their a lot of the things that are being talked about in the world, they're intentional deception.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: They're intended to put a cloud over our eyes so that we'll be afraid and we'll be scared and we'll be angry and it'll be us against them, and and you get into that world and then watch what happens to you.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Test your blood pressure, look at your anxiety levels, look what goes on, and see how it's coming out of your mouth, and all this, and what kind of fountain is coming out, and you're like, oh my god, how'd I get here?
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: The cloud.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: But when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is removed, and we see the beauty, and we see truth, and we start to trust a wonderful God, and we get confidence in the purpose and the plan of God that He has.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And you come at ease and you come at rest, and you start to embrace the beauty of God and all of his creation.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: And I have a vision for the world.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: I believe it's God's vision that the whole earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: And one place he said it'll be filled with the glory, and then in Habakkuk he said it'll be filled with the knowledge of the glory.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: I'm convinced the glory is here.
- 24:24unknown: Thank you, Jesus.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: But the knowledge of the glory.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Those who see it are enjoying it.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Those who see it are being empowered by it.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Those who see it are having their joy and their peace and their love level is is is much more consistently high because of what they see.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: Jesus is the light of the world.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: He came to take away the veil, he came to remove the darkness.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: I once was blind, but now I see.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: That's what Jesus did.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Jesus, being the expression of the Father, the expressed image of God, takes away the veil and says, Now here, this is God.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: You've heard it said this, but I'm telling you that.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod and the Sadducees, beware, behold me.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Then we come to church on Sunday.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it says in Isaiah, it says in Moses.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Moses wrote it, and then and then Peter's talking about the Mount of Transfiguration.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: He said, Yeah, let's have all three of you.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Let's put Jesus and Moses and the prophets and the law of the prophets and Jesus.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Let's just put them all together right here.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: And the father killed that thing real quick.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: He says, Moses, Isaiah, you're done.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: You did your work.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Good job.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: It's over.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: And he said, This is my son.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Listen to him.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but the prophets and all that.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: It happened.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: The prophets spoke and were right, and they were good and powerful, and they spoke about Jesus, but guess what?
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Jesus came.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And the Bible says in Ephesians 1:3, all the prophecies that God ever spoke have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Now, if there's still a cloud, it's kind of hard to see.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: A lot of the cloud is a religious cloud.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: It's just like don't know the place of the Old Testament prophets and the law.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: I love that mount of transfiguration.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: They beheld the exceeding brightness of his glory, full of grace and full of truth.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: And John wrote about that, who was there and who saw it, and he described it more.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And he said, Because Moses, the law came by Moses, but in Jesus came grace and truth.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Well, this is what grace and truth.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: It's beauty, it's beautiful, isn't it?
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: And we behold, Isaiah 60, verse 1 says, What?
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: A rise shine.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: Because your lights come.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't it be weird for all the lights in this building to be out?
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: And I'm up here talking, and you're sitting there, and you're just like, this is dark.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: But the lights come on.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: You ever been in a building where that happens?
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: All the power goes out, the lights go out, and like, ugh, what do we do?
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Where do we go?
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: And then a few moments later the lights come on, and it's just like, ah.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: And that's the way it is in the Spirit.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: The light comes.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Many, many, many, you know this, many references to this.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: 1 Peter 2.9 says that he has called us out of darkness or out of obscurity or out of blindness.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: He has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: The Bible tells us, since we are, let's walk as children of the day.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Let's don't act like it's dark.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Let's don't act like it's night.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Let's don't talk like it's dark and it's night.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Because it's not.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: The light has come.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: And it's okay.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: I want us to feel free.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: I want us to have the license and the freedom to say, you know what?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: I'm going to behold the beauty of the Lord.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Even if all my peers are saying, Yeah, but don't you know this is happening?
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Look at all this evil, and look at what's going on, and look what they're up to, and look at this and that and the other.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: And yeah, and and the and and the people are imagining vain things and raging and all this stuff is going on.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: But the salvation is in the beauty.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: The transformation, the change, the fulfillment of God's vision for the whole earth to be filled with the knowledge of his glory is in beholding the beauty, and creation is waiting for the manifestation of the children of God who are children of the day, beholding the beauty with the message of daylight, with the message of what you can see when the light is turned on, while people are walking in darkness and lost like the sheep with no shepherd.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: There are children of the day that say, But behold the beauty of the Lord.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: And we're in the infant stages of a movement that can continue to bring about the fulfillment of the vision because people around the world are starting to behold him full of grace and truth.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: And this isn't a Christian fad.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: When we talk about the message of grace or the ministry of the finished work, it's not a just a fad in the body of Christ.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: It's not a camp.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: It's not, oh, are you part of that grace movement?
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: It's the good news because people have beheld the beauty of the Lord and they cannot unsee it.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: And how many would say, you know what?
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: It has already transformed me quite a bit.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: And don't you love the transformation?
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: And you get persecution for it, and you get accused of different things.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: And where is the accuser in darkness?
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: The Bible talks about us not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: Rulers of the darkness.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Rulers of ignorance.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Blindness.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Lies that live where it's dark.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: You look up the word, it actually says rules.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Rules of darkness.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Or the rules of darkness.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Be afraid.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Be very, very afraid.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Because them, they're doing something.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: They want to destroy you.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Be very, very afraid.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: Rule things that rule the darkness.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: You're no good.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: God doesn't love you.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: No wonder he doesn't want to answer your prayers.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: But if you get better, if you get better, God's got some good stuff for you, but you need to be better.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: And you gotta do this, and you gotta do that and do that.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: Because it's all in the Bible.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: There's a big long list in there, and if you'll do all those things, then you'll get blessing, and then you'll get God's approval.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: And then you see, what is that?
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: That's rules of darkness.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: That's those are rules that can that people will believe when they don't see the beauty.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: When you see the beauty of the Lord.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Arise, shine, guys.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: Your light has come.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: And the glory of the Lord's all over us.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: That means He's beautiful.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: We're beautiful.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: Why is it all over us?
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: Because we've beheld, we're beholding the goodness of the Lord, and it's like a mirror, and what we're beholding, we're reflecting, and we're reflecting, we're we're reflecting love because we're seeing love.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And some of you are getting surprised by some of the things that are being revealed in the light because then you're like, whoa, the love can't be that bright, it can't be that much, it can't be that beautiful.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: There's got to be some parameters on the love.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: Here comes the dark.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Because the love that we're beholding doesn't make any sense.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: The love that we're beholding has cannot be quantified.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: It's called a love with no conditions, a love with no demands.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: That's the God, the Father.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: In fact, that's the love that you had been looking for all your life, anyway.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: And all you had to do was have the veil removed and you beheld that kind of love.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: And you became lovable.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: And you got a confidence because your faith works by that love.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: And you started trusting God.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: You started having more calmness in your spirit because, like we sang today, God was, or we were saying today, God's bigger than anything.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: And who He is is the most important thing, the most important truth there is.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: And that's why Jesus came.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Because what we're talking about this morning is the most important truth for anyone in the world to know.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: For the whole world to know.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Even when Jesus came, so many people say church people missed him, didn't they?
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: He walked right under their nose.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: They were on the lookout for the Christ.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: They thought others were him.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: It's not, I think you're him.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: They followed him a little while.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: No, that wasn't him.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Thinking you're him.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And they they were on the lookout.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: They were following, looking.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Then Jesus comes and they missed him because they couldn't see what God was up to.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: They couldn't accept what the light was trying to show.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: You know how it was.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: They did not expect that kind of a Christ, did they?
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: A Messiah.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: They were expecting their Messiah to come wearing a mega hat, you know, make Israel great again.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: That's what they were looking for.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Wasn't it?
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: They were looking for somebody that would restore the glory of Israel, make Israel great, and deliver them from the oppression of the Romans.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: And, you know.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: That's what they were looking for.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: And he came as the light.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: He came as the light to show them to do something much more uh grander than their their their temporal life situation.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: He came to turn on the light to the eternal glory and the beauty and the power and the majesty and the kingdom of God and said, This is it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: I came to give you eternal life.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: Here it is.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: But many did see the beauty.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: Even while he was walking in flesh, and Luke chapter 7, 47 talks about a woman who came into the house when he was in Matthew's house.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: And there were many tax collectors because when he went to Matthew's house, Matthew, who very, very probably was not even allowed in synagogue, but Jesus said, Matthew, I want to go to your house.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: And Matthew, come on, let's go.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: I can see him with his handkerchief in his hand.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: You know, that's how I picture him now.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: But for those of you that watch the chosen.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: But anyway, he goes, Matthew takes him to his house, and apparently he invites a whole bunch of other tax collectors, a lot of other people in the business, because it says, and all the tax collectors were there.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: They came too.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Because Matthew's saying, you know what?
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: You're not allowed to go to church, but you're allowed to go here.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: And this is the guy.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: And they were there, and and it says, and it said tax collectors and other sinners.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: And Matthew just like, come on, all of us can come.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: And so they were there.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: And then some Pharisees came too.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: See, everybody can come.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: And they didn't like the mixture of people.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: One reason was because they didn't see the beauty that Jesus was seeing when he looked at his creation.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Because they couldn't see past the veil of the flesh.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: And all they saw when they saw these people sitting at the table with Jesus, all they saw was darkness.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: Bad people.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: No good people.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: Unworthy people.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: And why in the world would this man who's supposed to be the Christ, why in the world would he act like these people are worthy?
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: Sitting at the table with them.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: And then this woman comes in and she starts crying and wipe and you know, kind of washing his feet with tears and and and you know the whole story, they're wiping his feet with her hair and all that.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: They didn't like that.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: And Jesus says in verse 47, he says, She's been forgiven of all her many sins.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: And this is why she has shown such extravagant love.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: But those who assume they have very little to be forgiven, they love me very little.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: See why?
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Because they don't see grace.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: They don't see grace, they don't see the beauty of that kind of grace.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: They don't see the beauty of loving a person like her.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: They don't see the beauty of being gracious to her and simply saying, your sins are forgiven.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Without her having to make payment or do penance or whatever.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: They didn't see the beauty that the Lord sees.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: And even though he wasn't wearing a mega hat, she saw what they could not see.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: She saw because when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil's removed.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: When was her heart turned to the Lord when he said, Your sins are forgiven?
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: She's been forgiven many sins.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: And this woman that nobody else could see beauty in.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: We've received a love that we see is unconditional.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: And so we come here week after week, and day after day we we wake up and we tell the Lord how much we love him.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: Because we see beauty, we see grace, we see love.
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I'll throw this out just either in public, I'll do it on online sometimes.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Just throw it out and just see what happens.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: You can make this statement.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: God loves everybody.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: Not being theological about the condition of their hearts or their salvation or anything.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying, God loves everybody.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: A lot of people will agree.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: But it seems like invariably there's always somebody.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: Gotta say yes, but.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't mean we condone sin.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: I'm like, why does your brain even have to go over there?
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Because the darkness has a sin conscious.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: And that sin consciousness clouds us from seeing the beauty of a gracious, wonderful God.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: And we can't fall in love with a God that's less than gracious and wonderful.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: We can fear him, we can be devoted to him, we can serve him, or try to, but we don't fall in love with him like this woman did.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: So Jesus is the light of the world and hangs on the cross and sheds his blood.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: And we behold the beauty of even that.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: And it removes our sin consciousness.
- 39:45unknown: Wow.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: Isn't that a miracle to even know that you can still sin, break the biblical laws, that you still do it, and so do I.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: But we don't have a consciousness of sin because now we see, we see something greater than even our mistakes.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: We see something greater than our weakness.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: The woman saw grace and it was beautiful.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: Finally, in Matthew 19, 13, is where he told the people.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Now you should go and study the meaning of this verse.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: I want you to show mercy, not just offer me a sacrifice.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: For I've come to invite the outcast of society and sinners, not those who think they're already on the right path.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: I want to say this.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: A man I know one time was, I was in sitting in a living room with him, and they were political news was on the TV, and he got so angry from something he had seen there, and he just like, and he's he's he's going off on on people with same-sex attraction, and just like just going off and going off.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: And he says, and and I'm kind of trying to throw grace into him, seeing the beauty that I see.
- 41:16SPEAKER_00: And uh he goes, Well, God don't make no mistakes, and it sent me on a thought.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: And the rest of that day I was just thinking about that statement.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: I thought about people whose lives are in that situation.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: I thought about people with physical deformities, I thought about those of us born into severe poverty, while others are born rich, some born in very dysfunctional and unloving homes, while others are raised in very loving homes.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: And think of all the situations there, and God don't make mistakes.
- 41:54SPEAKER_00: But some are born wealthy, some are born poor, some are born physically fit, and some are not, and some are born very intelligent, and some are born with less mental capacity, and some are born with these different things.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: I thought, why the light shines, you can see things you haven't seen before, and I thought I saw beauty.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: I saw beauty in it, where once I saw ugliness and like God, all these things just need to be fixed.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: Just fix them all.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: But I see another beauty.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe the point of it all is to learn grace.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's for us to be gracious.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: As the Bible indicates in so many ways, in so many places, to bend towards those with lowest state, to those, to those that seem to be deserving of less honor, Paul said.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: Let's give them double honor.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: And maybe the whole point is to learn grace.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's it's it's a we're looking into a beauty and we're seeing the heart of our wonderful father.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: And as I did this, I looked at those that we that you would call physically deformed, and those that are born in this situation, and that one, the other, and the other.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: And hate me and persecute me if you want, but I saw beauty.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I saw beauty in all of God's creation.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: And I smiled in my heart and I said, Daddy, I'm learning grace.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: I'm finally getting your heart.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: You're wonderful, and you're beautiful, and this is the grace where the knowledge of your glory can be known.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: I have a part two to this where I get into more of this next week.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I hope you'll come and listen.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: Would y'all stand?
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: Would you just look with your spiritual eyes and enjoy the beauty of the Lord?
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: And I like to say where you're at right now is that you're in the most beautiful, abundant, safe, loving place.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: For you've come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: You've come to an innumerable company of angels.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: You've come to God.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: You've come to the spirits of just men made perfect.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: You've come to Jesus, whose blood speaks mercy.
- 44:51SPEAKER_00: Mercy, mercy, mercy, and it's beautiful.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: I want to declare that you're blessed.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: The light has come.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: We look for no other.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: He is that light.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: And I say, let's dare.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: Let's dare to behold the beauty.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: Beauty of the Lord, that we can reflect a glory that this world is crying for.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: A beauty.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: Father, I thank you for this in Jesus' name.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: Amen.
