- 0:00In this lessons episode, discover why taking bold action beats,
- 0:03playing it's safe online.
- 0:05Learn how having a strong opinion helps you stand out in a crowded market.
- 0:08Learn why seeking attention is not unethical,
- 0:10if you are solving real problems,
- 0:12and learn how inaction is the true enemy of progress,
- 0:14not fear or failure.
- 0:26Yeah, so I actually think you're not giving yourself enough credit.
- 0:28Because what you're talking about is really just creating provocative content.
- 0:34Oh, no, no, no.
- 0:35Despite the point of view, no, no, but I want to tell you,
- 0:38you're out of my idea, and then I know you'll have an answer.
- 0:41But my point is, what the Paul Brothers do,
- 0:44what Grant Cardone does, they're not like evil people.
- 0:48Some people I'm sure think they're not great,
- 0:49but they're not evil people.
- 0:50Being an asshole on social media is very different
- 0:53than being like doing illegal shit and building a business that way.
- 0:57So I think there is still a line between good and evil.
- 1:00There's there's shades of, of course, good.
- 1:04Of course, yes, that's what I know.
- 1:05Of course, what you're saying is correct.
- 1:07I'm not telling you to be evil when I'm telling you is to give yourself permission.
- 1:12That's all I'm saying.
- 1:13It's like so many people don't want to take action on social media
- 1:17because they're afraid to give themselves permission.
- 1:19Yet we just put a man in office who fucked a porn star while his wife was pregnant
- 1:24and we elected him twice, okay?
- 1:26And I'm not criticizing him because I voted for him too.
- 1:29My point is, you're worried about a meme you were going to post
- 1:32or an Instagram account you were going to make or a YouTube video
- 1:35because you cared so much about what the people at work thought about you
- 1:39and your fat aunt that you go see at Thanksgiving every year.
- 1:41By the way, just in case you're wondering,
- 1:43you join my program, this is how you get spoken to every day.
- 1:45Okay, I'm a former US Air Force captain.
- 1:48I worked in counterintelligence for two years
- 1:50and I flew spec ops for five.
- 1:51This is how you will get spoken to.
- 1:53This is how we talk every day.
- 1:54But like you watch this over and over again
- 1:57and I just hear these excuses about,
- 1:59I just care so much about what other people think about you.
- 2:02When I say all this stuff, of course,
- 2:03I don't want you to do any of these things.
- 2:05I don't want you to start a shill coin.
- 2:07I don't want you to sit there and start a,
- 2:09what is the other one that's just complete?
- 2:12Forex, I mean.
- 2:13Forex, yeah, yeah.
- 2:15100% of retail forex is a scam.
- 2:17There you go. I'll say it.
- 2:18You can come after me.
- 2:19I'd be more than willing to debate you.
- 2:21100%, not forex.
- 2:22Forex is not a scam because there actually are sovereign
- 2:25for well funds that need to use it.
- 2:26But 100% or four retail forex is a scam.
- 2:28I say this and people get pissed at me,
- 2:30but it's still true.
- 2:31But now I'll tell you something to do is by the,
- 2:33with the amount of money my friends have lost
- 2:34in retail forex, I'm not disagreeing with you.
- 2:36Yeah, I disagreeing with you.
- 2:38But my point is, do you see what I've done?
- 2:40No, like by doing no, I've taken aside
- 2:42and now I've become a little bit scandalous in here.
- 2:44Even though what I'm saying is objectively true,
- 2:46you want to know another place where I get like huge hate
- 2:49and I can get hundreds and hundreds of comments.
- 2:51I've debated flat earthers before.
- 2:53Want something that's objectively true?
- 2:54I studied astronomy and college.
- 2:56I know the earth is round and I can prove it.
- 2:58And I sit there and I have a debate with them
- 2:59and I just completely dunk on these guys for like three hours.
- 3:02And I get all these views and comments and all this kind of stuff.
- 3:05And people are like, I don't know why you do this.
- 3:06And I'm like, well, look at the algorithm.
- 3:08I just got 100,000 views for this video that I just made.
- 3:10But most people don't want to take any chances like that.
- 3:13What my point of everything that I just said
- 3:15about good guy status and bad guy status
- 3:17is are you giving yourself permission?
- 3:19Or are you listening to the same platitudes over and over again?
- 3:21It's like every time you fall down, you got to get back up.
- 3:24Have you ever seen some of the stuff that Gary Vaynerchuk writes?
- 3:28Some of his tweets, like I like Gary Vaynerchuk.
- 3:30I'm sure we all do.
- 3:31He's an inspiration to all of us.
- 3:33But his tweets are very much.
- 3:34If you believe in yourself and you do what you think is right
- 3:37and you stay the course, eventually you'll be successful.
- 3:40And I'm just thinking if I said some shit like that,
- 3:42nobody would listen.
- 3:43And if you said some shit like that,
- 3:45it would get no one would care.
- 3:47No, can you imagine being so famous that all you have to do
- 3:50is like be Alex from Ozzy and just tweet work harder.
- 3:53And then you just get like 5,000 retweets.
- 3:55Can you imagine me?
- 3:56But you know what, we're not.
- 3:57We're not that famous, Scott.
- 3:58We're not.
- 3:59And so for the rest of us,
- 4:01we are going to have to be disruptive.
- 4:03And if we're not disruptive,
- 4:04the world will pass us by and they will forget us.
- 4:06And because of the way the fractal nature,
- 4:09you know, Prado's principle,
- 4:10because of the fractal nature of the way social media works now
- 4:13and the way marketing works,
- 4:14that you start to come to this realization very quickly
- 4:17is that you have to do something to separate yourself
- 4:19very quickly, which goes back to my original point.
- 4:22You have to give yourself permission to try different things.
- 4:25And when you do, then you come to you can start to figure out ways
- 4:28to get a leg up on your competition.
- 4:30But if you don't and it's just like,
- 4:31I'm going to be the ethical salesperson.
- 4:33And I'm just going to say platitudes over and over again
- 4:35and feel good about myself and tell myself that I'm good enough.
- 4:38Yo, here's the thing.
- 4:39Internally, all of you are watching this.
- 4:41You are enough internally.
- 4:43Externally, someone will take your partner
- 4:45and someone will take your girl.
- 4:46Someone will take your money and someone will take your clients
- 4:48if you don't do anything about it.
- 4:50Sorry, I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this.
- 4:52If I'm the first entrepreneur to tell you
- 4:54that other people are out to get you,
- 4:56I have, especially if you're successful.
- 4:57If you're not successful,
- 4:58you're just starting up.
- 4:59Forget everything I'm saying.
- 5:00You got a while to go.
- 5:00But for those of you who get like a couple million impressions
- 5:03on social media every week,
- 5:05I've got bad news for you.
- 5:06People are going to come after every single part of your life.
- 5:09They will.
- 5:09They're going,
- 5:10they're going to make reaction videos
- 5:12about you doing normal life stuff.
- 5:15And when they do so,
- 5:16how are you going to deal with it?
- 5:17Are you going to sit there and deny it?
- 5:18Are you going to block them all?
- 5:20Or are you going to take that new found status,
- 5:24that new staff found in for me
- 5:26and transmute that into a way to get more clients?
- 5:28In a way to get more business
- 5:30and a way to improve your business.
- 5:32Because that's what you're going to have to do.
- 5:34And if you just want to ignore it
- 5:36and just say everything that I'm saying is wrong,
- 5:37that's fine.
- 5:37You can keep your head in the sand as long as you want.
- 5:39But there's some of you out there.
- 5:40I'm sure that are watching this right now
- 5:42that deep down, you know that what I'm saying is true.
- 5:44You know that the guys who make the,
- 5:47we have a personal injury attorney here in Vegas
- 5:49and the guy drives around into $4.3 million
- 5:51of Bugatti and puts like hot girls in the passenger seat
- 5:54and he's crushing it.
- 5:55He's crushing.
- 5:56But wait a second,
- 5:57I need a personal injury attorney.
- 5:58I don't need a guy with the Bugatti
- 6:00who has a bunch of hot girls in his car.
- 6:01But why does everyone call him?
- 6:04Because he's famous.
- 6:06And I don't know what he gets attention.
- 6:08That's it.
- 6:08That's that's the main thing.
- 6:10The other part that I'm going to tell you
- 6:11as far as entrepreneurship is concerned
- 6:13is the biggest disease you can catch.
- 6:16We call it procrastination,
- 6:17but it's actually something else.
- 6:18It's inaction.
- 6:20It's not procrastination is giving a word,
- 6:22another word to something else.
- 6:24The disease is inaction.
- 6:25My course is called men of action
- 6:27because I watch too many people
- 6:28take other self-improvement courses
- 6:30and then they would they would cry.
- 6:32Oh my god, the life changing.
- 6:33Thank you so much.
- 6:34The giant within like of whatever.
- 6:36And we take Tony Roberts
- 6:37and it's not Tony Robbins fault
- 6:38because he teaches a really great program.
- 6:39But a lot of people will take his program
- 6:41and feel fucking incredible about themselves
- 6:44and then just go right back
- 6:45to living in their mom's basement being overweight.
- 6:46They won't take any action
- 6:48and not the scary part of my course
- 6:50is I force you to take action.
- 6:52There's a thing in science.
- 6:53We know about in psychology
- 6:55it's called cognitive behavioral therapy.
- 6:58We use CBT or DBT
- 7:00dialectical behavioral therapy
- 7:02for people who have like
- 7:03borderline personality disorder.
- 7:05We see that it's being a very effective treatment.
- 7:07I think for men the most effective treatment
- 7:09is called behavioral activation therapy
- 7:11which is basically when you feel depressed
- 7:14you go to the gym.
- 7:15When you feel depressed
- 7:17you go take an action
- 7:18and that action then creates dopamine release
- 7:21and you start having rewards in your mind.
- 7:24I think the male brain
- 7:25and the female brain are different
- 7:26and so the way that we treat
- 7:28some of these symptoms for depression
- 7:30or sadness or melancholy is different.
- 7:32I think for men
- 7:33the one of the main things you have to do
- 7:34is go and take action
- 7:36rather than read a book
- 7:37do a breathing exercise
- 7:38and look in the mirror
- 7:39and tell yourself that you're enough
- 7:40I think you need to go hit a personal record
- 7:42on the bench press
- 7:43and go talk to a beautiful woman
- 7:44that you would have been afraid to talk to before.
- 7:46I think you do that
- 7:46you're going to feel a level of happiness
- 7:48that you've never recognized before
- 7:50because that's what your ancestors did
- 7:52in order to survive
- 7:53and when you do the same thing
- 7:55you're also going to have that same feeling.
- 7:57So then what is the issue
- 7:59with all of the self-help advice
- 8:02that's out on the internet right now
- 8:04and I know you probably have a thousand
- 8:06issues with most of it
- 8:07but I just want to tie a knot
- 8:09in the status thing
- 8:10because I think that's important
- 8:10so and then we'll talk about
- 8:12sort of self-help
- 8:13we can talk about what men should do
- 8:15and by the way
- 8:16in terms of
- 8:19mental health
- 8:20if I ever get a stressful call
- 8:21a stressful email
- 8:22I do go to the gym
- 8:24and I'll go deadlift
- 8:25I'll go bench
- 8:25I'll go squat
- 8:26I'll go kick my own fucking ass
- 8:28be in there
- 8:28oh god that sounds
- 8:29that sounds like a very traditional masculine answer
- 8:32you're going to get cancelled
- 8:33if you say that too loud
- 8:34you better be careful Scott
- 8:35you're you think this is a thing
- 8:37I mean this is but this has always been
- 8:39how I how I decompress
- 8:41because that gives me the room
- 8:43to think through the problem
- 8:44it removes the emotion out of the situation too
- 8:47your response is just going to be in that positive
- 8:49when you wait a second
- 8:50you removes the emotion
- 8:51you mean you come up with logical answers
- 8:53dispassionately
- 8:54you better be careful saying this stuff
- 8:55on the internet Scott
- 8:56you are going to get cancelled
- 8:58you better be careful
- 8:59saying stuff like this bro
- 9:00you're the American psychological
- 9:02they get a hold of you
- 9:03they're going to get you cancelled
- 9:04buddy watch out
- 9:05I think I think we're in an era of non-cancelation
- 9:07I think I think we've got to
- 9:09buy dude I hope so
- 9:10I hope so
- 9:10I really do
- 9:11man when he said there made those promises about
- 9:13you will no longer have your account taken down
- 9:15for no reason
- 9:16and you're going to get a right to a speedy appeal
- 9:18I was like I voted for the right person
- 9:20as soon as I saw that
- 9:21as soon as I saw that
- 9:22it's like you mean I can tell the truth
- 9:23and I'm not going to get ratioed because of it
- 9:25that's incredible
- 9:27no the whole point I was going to make was
- 9:29like
- 9:31whatever whatever you're building
- 9:32whatever attention you're trying to find
- 9:35you have to have spiky points of view
- 9:37you have to have an opinion on shit
- 9:39and listen
- 9:42you're not going to get cancelled
- 9:44if you're not being a complete
- 9:45fucking asshole
- 9:46like I know you take it to an extreme
- 9:48to a degree where you're saying you can
- 9:50still build an audience that way
- 9:52but
- 9:53where you are right now
- 9:55and where 99% of people are building audiences
- 9:58it's so far
- 9:59even like a small amount of opinion
- 10:02is uncomfortable for most people
- 10:04they take a fucking baby step
- 10:06like put an opinion on anything
- 10:08in your life
- 10:08in your world
- 10:10relevant to what's happening
- 10:11and
- 10:11like just have a fucking opinion
- 10:14because
- 10:15like if not
- 10:16who are you
- 10:16you're vanilla
- 10:17you're not going to attract anybody
- 10:18do you how hard it is to get leverage on youtube right now
- 10:21very to start from scratch
- 10:23like you have to do something
- 10:25with an incredible cover photo
- 10:27and an incredible title to even get
- 10:29any traction whatsoever
- 10:30and you have to post consistently
- 10:32and I just keep reminding people
- 10:33it's like when you use platitudes
- 10:35like trust yourself
- 10:37feel better
- 10:37trust your intuition
- 10:38yo I don't believe
- 10:39like you're
- 10:41ready here you can make a clip out of this
- 10:4395% of you watching this
- 10:44should stop fucking trusting your intuition
- 10:46it has not led you down the right path
- 10:49if you are a pilot
- 10:50and you've done
- 10:512000 landings
- 10:52then you get to trust your intuition
- 10:54look up the definition of what intuition is
- 10:56it has to do with
- 10:58domain expertise
- 10:59and lots of experience
- 11:01if you're a cardiologist
- 11:02and you've cracked open
- 11:03100
- 11:04like 500 people's
- 11:05chest and actually looked at the heart
- 11:07and be like oh there's something wrong here
- 11:08you get to trust your intuition
- 11:10if you're a psychologist
- 11:12and you are a psychiatrist
- 11:13and you've dealt with
- 11:14maybe 500 people that have had schizophrenia
- 11:16you get to trust your intuition
- 11:18the rest of us
- 11:19who have no domain
- 11:20expertise are like
- 11:21my intuition tells me that I need to start
- 11:23a restaurant that makes paint tacos
- 11:25that are vegan and like no you're doing that for you
- 11:28that's not your intuition
- 11:29bro that's your ego
- 11:30that's what's going on
- 11:31most of you have no right
- 11:34you have
- 11:34how dare you
- 11:35you do not have the right
- 11:37to trust your intuition
- 11:38because you don't have the domain expertise to do so
- 11:42you do have the right to study
- 11:44you do have the right to become a subject matter expert
- 11:48you do have that right
- 11:49which then will lead you to proper intuition
- 11:52but what happens instead is people
- 11:54who have no clue what they're talking about
- 11:56are just like follow your passion
- 11:58do you think that Wayne Heizingle won't
- 12:00woke up one day when he
- 12:01when he when he had
- 12:03a waste management open
- 12:04your waste management the company
- 12:05and he's like you know what I know he was
- 12:07he's from he's from here
- 12:08he's from Miami
- 12:09yeah do you think that
- 12:10do you think that Wayne Heizingle
- 12:12was like you know what my passion is Scott
- 12:14I just want to tell you
- 12:15portapoddies
- 12:16I've just been wanting to clean shit
- 12:18out of portapoddies my whole life
- 12:19to clean diapers and feces
- 12:21I've been so excited about creating dump trucks
- 12:23do you think that Wayne Heizingle's
- 12:25passion was waste management
- 12:27or do you think he solved someone else's
- 12:30problem and made billions of dollars
- 12:32because of it again I want you to think
- 12:34about the attorney Harvey Spector
- 12:36on the show suits I don't know if you got
- 12:37some of you guys watch the show suits
- 12:39but what made him so great
- 12:40is not that he's a great litigator
- 12:42it's that he makes problems go away
- 12:44if those of you are watching this
- 12:46if all you do is make problems go away
- 12:49for other people
- 12:49and you can't do that with platitudes
- 12:51you can only do that with action
- 12:53if you can just make problems go away
- 12:54from other people
- 12:55give away as much free stuff as you can
- 12:57and ask for 1% of your audience
- 13:00to buy your product
- 13:01you will become outrageously wealthy
