- 0:23Speaker 1: But what else is true?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I think one of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself in any situation, any situation good, bad or otherwise is what else is true?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Because even when we think everything's great, we can miss out.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That's another place where there's space on.
- 0:44Speaker 1: What else is true?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Because then we go in the lane of this is good, this is good, this is good and it's only a question what else is true?
- 0:53Speaker 1: You get this broadening right, this of your horizons, of seeing stuff, and then you've slowed down long enough to see it and then, if this is still true, if this is still what you want to do, then go for it, but you've done it consciously is still what you want to do, then go for it, but you've done it consciously.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Like you know, I'm doing that because it's delicious, for sure.
- 1:10Speaker 1: What if you, you know, to the Buddhist point, you know eating food.
- 1:19Speaker 1: How many of us just stuff food in in the morning, just like automatically doing six, seven different things?
- 1:21Speaker 1: Right, you know you don't.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You miss out on a lot when we do things so quickly or when we overlook things that are familiar, or where we only default to where things are familiar, which is what so often people answer really quickly because A either they think you know that they want to be right, because they don't want to be wrong, but you know, I'm always saying well, why and why?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Why is that important to you?
- 1:47Speaker 1: And they go well, because it's good to be a good person?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, absolutely it is.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But why For you?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Why is it important for you to be a good person?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Why is it important for you to fill in the blank?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Because that's bespoke to us and that's what we are responsible for.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We are responsible for our why.
- 2:08Speaker 1: You can't just, you know, a lot of people live on the surface, so a lot of people live up here going well, you know, I'm being nice because it's nice to be nice, yes, and it's nice to be polite, and so on and so forth.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But why I?
- 2:23Speaker 2: have to say I like that question.
- 2:26Speaker 2: What else is true?
- 2:27Speaker 2: But for a reminder, I just am newly into menopause, so my brain will start to either fog out or obsess one or the other.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It'll either obsess over something Like I can't get out of the cycle, or it'll fog out.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And so if I could just ask myself well, this is true, I might break my cycle.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Well, totally.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And also, you know, when you say menopause, everybody in the room not just because we're women, everybody in the world, whatever room we'd be in, men, women, otherwise they they're they all have preconceived notions about what that means, what it entails, so it's very, very easy to buy into.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the brain fog is because of menopause.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It might be.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It might be yeah but but for that to become our identity, you know, for that is it, which is, which is what happens.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So, rather than being your superpower, which is what happens?
- 3:27Speaker 1: So, rather than being your superpower, which is, I'm experiencing brain fog.
- 3:30Speaker 1: It might be because of that.
- 3:31Speaker 1: What else is true?
- 3:32Speaker 1: And how might I manage that?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Then you can be solution focused.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Then you go.
- 3:36Speaker 1: How am I going to navigate that?
- 3:38Speaker 1: As opposed to, well, I hit that age.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I mean, that's like.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You know the limiting beliefs that people have about age.
- 3:44Speaker 1: We've been spoon fed all that, right, yeah definitely.
