  SPEAKER_01: We're Jordan and Kennedy, and our business is Cool Kids Science RVA.

  SPEAKER_01: And what we've been doing is, like, doing online workshops for kids and different kits for kids.

  SPEAKER_01: And our goal with our business is to encourage more girls to go into the STEAM field.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I love that.

  SPEAKER_01: How long have you guys been doing this?

  SPEAKER_01: We've been doing our business since 2015, so about five years.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, my goodness.

  SPEAKER_01: And why did you guys decide to do a program like this, Cool Kids Science?

  SPEAKER_01: Do you guys love science?
• 2:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, I've just always been interested in it, and my older sister always loved science, so I guess I just got it from her.

  SPEAKER_01: You just decided.
• 2:22
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?

  SPEAKER_01: I love that.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.

  SPEAKER_01: I know that you guys are actually homeschooled, and I was mentioning before the program that I homeschool my daughters, and I have one of my daughters.

  SPEAKER_01: Specifically, she is really interested in science like you guys, and she's always wanting to do different science projects and learn as many things as she can because as she gets older, that's something that she'd like to do in the future.

  SPEAKER_01: Is that something that you guys are wanting to do, pursue more of a science thing in the future?

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, we are wanting to do...
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_01: more online experience and workshops for kids.

  SPEAKER_01: We have a couple right now, but we want to add some more.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, that's exciting.

  SPEAKER_01: So tell me a little bit about the workshops you guys are doing.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, our older sister leads most of the workshops, and for the workshops, kids come in and do different science experiments and then learn about the science behind them.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, that's exciting because I think a lot of people want to learn about this.
• 3:23
  SPEAKER_01: And do you guys, do you tailor more of your programs towards girls or everybody?
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_01: Well, it's mostly for everybody, but we're trying to get more girls into STEAM.
• 3:35
  SPEAKER_01: Because science is fun, isn't it?
• 3:36
  SPEAKER_01: And getting more girls involved in science, I think, is a really cool thing.

  SPEAKER_01: I'm finding that there's definitely more girls wanting to learn about science and the things that you can do with it.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, I've been doing a lot of things, and I've noticed that a lot more girls are showing more interest in STEAM.

  SPEAKER_01: Wow.

  SPEAKER_01: What kind of things do you think are their favorites?

  SPEAKER_01: Is there a specific type of STEAM that you're finding more girls are going into?

  SPEAKER_01: I find that more girls are going into, like, medical jobs in science.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, my goodness.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, that's pretty cool.

  SPEAKER_01: We definitely need more girls than that, don't we?

  SPEAKER_01: Yes.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah?

  SPEAKER_01: Do you guys do anything like coding?

  SPEAKER_01: Are you teaching any programs like that?

  SPEAKER_01: We haven't actually done any programs on coding.

  SPEAKER_01: Actually, we have done one that we did last fall, and we taught a lot of girls to do their own VR experience.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.

  SPEAKER_01: That sounds like a lot of fun.

  SPEAKER_01: Are your online classes going to be happening this fall?

  SPEAKER_01: So you're probably doing a lot more, especially with people being at home now.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, they're going to be happening all this fall.

  SPEAKER_01: Can you share with our listeners some of the specific ones you guys are going to be doing?

  SPEAKER_01: One that we have, which is personally my favorite workshop that we do, is one that we use red cabbage, and we basically show how viruses can spread.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, my goodness.

  SPEAKER_01: That sounds like a lot of fun.

  SPEAKER_01: And you're doing these workshops online, so you're going to be on Zoom, so people are going to visually see this?

  SPEAKER_01: Yes.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes.

  SPEAKER_01: They're going to tune in and follow along.

  SPEAKER_01: Then we're going to give them a science lesson behind what happened and how.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that sounds like so much fun.

  SPEAKER_01: Okay, so how can our listeners that have children out there, and we do have quite a few of them, how can they get a hold of you guys so that they can book their kids in for a workshop like this and watch you guys?

  SPEAKER_01: I know that coming this fall, I'm not too sure what it is like in your area, but there is definitely more girls and more homeschoolers going to be happening because a lot of the schools up here are not...

  SPEAKER_01: We don't have a lot of...

  SPEAKER_01: It's going back to a regular school, so they're doing it more at home.

  SPEAKER_01: And they're looking for innovative things to share with their children.

  SPEAKER_01: So I think what you guys are doing is absolutely extraordinary and so much fun.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, they are a lot of fun.

  SPEAKER_01: I know I join in the experience every now and then.

  SPEAKER_01: So you don't mind if you get a lot of kids from all over the world checking out your workshops then?

  SPEAKER_01: No, I don't mind at all.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what we're going to try to do for you guys is get our listeners to pass the show on to their friends and family so that maybe we can get you a really big global network of friends so that you can connect.
