- 0:02Speaker 1: And charge.
- 0:03Speaker 2: The mound is powered by MLB nine Innings Rivals twenty
- 0:06Speaker 2: six and MLB nine Innings twenty six. Go check both
- 0:10Speaker 2: of them out app store on your phone. They're free,
- 0:14Speaker 2: they're great video games. They've got all the all stars
- 0:16Speaker 2: in there. Let's get into our home run Derby preview.
- 0:21Speaker 2: What do we think is going to happen player wise
- 0:24Speaker 2: in terms of who's going to perform well and entertainment
- 0:28Speaker 2: wise in terms of how this is going to look?
- 0:30Speaker 2: And hey, Jeff Passim was on our show the other
- 0:32Speaker 2: day and apparently, like I saw, you know, I get
- 0:35Speaker 2: all the social media pop ups from him and Ken
- 0:37Speaker 2: and all the guys, and he's he thinks it's going
- 0:40Speaker 2: to be terrible.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Jeff pass things.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like he's getting some some noise right now because
- 0:45Speaker 2: she's He says it's gonna stink. That's what the headline says.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I get to see it because I've been running around.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I'm sure he explained.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Really, I just think you pig, you said, because now
- 0:56Speaker 4: they can take pitches right to get twenty swings.
- 0:59Speaker 2: They can just take I'm an is there a rule
- 1:00Speaker 2: on how many pitches you can take? So that to me,
- 1:03Speaker 2: that's where The first problem is so you can take
- 1:06Speaker 2: ten pitches and then swing ten pitches and then swing.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Are you sure nobody's nobody's taking No. I mean I've
- 1:11Speaker 4: never read anything about you can't take. You can't like
- 1:15Speaker 4: there's a limit to the takes.
- 1:16Speaker 1: There should be a limit to takes.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Forty pitches, that's where it's takes so long swins, that's
- 1:24Speaker 4: where you get twenty swings.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Okay, but it's a homer that's one swing. Theres gon
- 1:27Speaker 1: never be a limit on takes. And I'll tell you why. Okay,
- 1:30Speaker 1: we've been doing a timer for years. Right, you need
- 1:34Speaker 1: to swing.
- 1:36Speaker 4: You take on, dudes, aren't The problem dudes that are
- 1:39Speaker 4: in this are not the most egregious that you're gonna
- 1:41Speaker 4: see is somebody that has the plan like Sammy Sosa
- 1:44Speaker 4: dude where auto take one. I call it the travel
- 1:48Speaker 4: ball showcase take where it's like you're.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Just like.
- 1:53Speaker 3: That was nothing. But for some reason, that's gonna be
- 1:55Speaker 3: the routine.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It clicks you.
- 1:56Speaker 4: And there's not gonna be dudes that are like I
- 1:59Speaker 4: gotta see five, I gotta see. No, we're not, We're
- 2:01Speaker 4: not gonna see that. I think it's gonna be a positive.
- 2:03Speaker 4: I really do, And I disagree whatever Passing said, I disagree.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be great because one Citizens Bank
- 2:10Speaker 4: has a lot of targets that can be hit.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Like we're gonna see where a five hundred foot.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Home run lands. It's not just gonna like land in
- 2:19Speaker 4: the abyss of a bullpen or something, and.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Then was the lion stadcast to tell you where it went?
- 2:23Speaker 1: We cast is gonna be wrong, right.
- 2:26Speaker 4: That's why I'm not clicking on any of those bets
- 2:28Speaker 4: for my for my bet, because they're gonna they're gonna
- 2:31Speaker 4: manipulate it the way they manipulated Brent Rooker not being
- 2:34Speaker 4: but two. I think being able to experience each ball
- 2:39Speaker 4: that's hit out of the ballpark is gonna be engaging.
- 2:43Speaker 4: But for how long I don't know. Okay, I don't
- 2:46Speaker 4: think twenty pitches is gonna be that much. I mean,
- 2:48Speaker 4: twenty swings is gonna be that much?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Really?
- 2:52Speaker 4: Oh, I just tobe it didn't take forever. That's my
- 2:55Speaker 4: only That's the biggest complaint when you ask people, wow,
- 2:58Speaker 4: does it takes three?
- 2:59Speaker 5: Well?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Oh even with the timer, yeah, well, it.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Definitely took too on before the timer and the timer
- 3:06Speaker 4: improved that. But then they complained to guys were taking
- 3:08Speaker 4: too many swings and it too short of a time. Well,
- 3:10Speaker 4: that's why guys are getting tired.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't follow the ball if there's so many
- 3:15Speaker 2: balls flying at the same time.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Because then it just became it just became video half
- 3:20Speaker 4: the flight and video of them swinging, because they were
- 3:23Speaker 4: always coming back to the swing, always come back to
- 3:25Speaker 4: the swing, and I think that was It wasn't what
- 3:28Speaker 4: I grew up watching a home run derby, and I
- 3:31Speaker 4: think this version is a much better version than somebody
- 3:35Speaker 4: just going out and hitting thirteen in a row and
- 3:39Speaker 4: they still only have one out, because then you're like, uh,
- 3:42Speaker 4: now you hit thirteen in a row, that's gonna be incredible.
- 3:45Speaker 4: There's electricity when guys start hitting a bunch in a row,
- 3:49Speaker 4: but he's over halfway done.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Then he's only got seven more swings.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I think there should do something like worth you get
- 3:56Speaker 4: if you get a chain going, like a street going,
- 3:59Speaker 4: they're worth more, all right?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Video game style, Yeah, like.
- 4:03Speaker 4: The first ones was one and then if you in
- 4:05Speaker 4: other wands were two and then three and like come
- 4:06Speaker 4: pounds well at the.
- 4:08Speaker 1: End and yeah, points you don't finish until you no
- 4:11Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:12Speaker 4: But I think you should be able to if you
- 4:14Speaker 4: hit four or five six in a row, it should
- 4:15Speaker 4: be worth more points and incentivizes stand.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'll double up on what you're saying. It has to
- 4:21Speaker 2: be pitches, not swings in a row.
- 4:24Speaker 3: But then it all comes down to the picture.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But it did come down to the pitcher for a while,
- 4:29Speaker 2: just now where you have to lay it up in
- 4:31Speaker 2: a good spot because any pitch that's not in the
- 4:33Speaker 2: right spot is hurting.
- 4:35Speaker 5: You on the timer.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I know it's not supposed to be about that,
- 4:38Speaker 2: but I just I want someone that knows what they're
- 4:39Speaker 2: doing on the mouth. This is our time. You're getting
- 4:43Speaker 2: our time for two and a half hours, and I
- 4:45Speaker 2: want to see dingers. I don't want to see takes.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Here's what I like about AJS. I think that puts intrigued.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Like before, I don't know if people know it. There
- 4:55Speaker 4: used to be a bonus for you hitting it over
- 4:57Speaker 4: four hundred and fifty feet. We had no idea witch
- 5:00Speaker 4: ball was over four and fifty feet. It was like, oh,
- 5:02Speaker 4: the stars open, okay, great, so he hit one over
- 5:04Speaker 4: four fifty. Now we're gonna be able to see that.
- 5:07Speaker 4: And I think what aj said, it kind of adds
- 5:09Speaker 4: that like he's on fire, NBA jam type of like
- 5:12Speaker 4: video games stuff where it's like if he hits another
- 5:15Speaker 4: one here the fans right around the four to five
- 5:17Speaker 4: in a row, the fans start getting amped up, and
- 5:21Speaker 4: then so like right in there, maybe three to four,
- 5:23Speaker 4: you'd be able to engage the fans. You're third one
- 5:26Speaker 4: in a row, you get an extra point. Fourth one
- 5:29Speaker 4: is worth three fifth one.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I like it.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Big second half of the season coming up, there might
- 5:38Speaker 2: be a hot ticket, a rivalry series, a sold out
- 5:42Speaker 2: experience they need to get your hands on, and seakeek
- 5:45Speaker 2: is the spot for that. You can find good, good pricing.
- 5:49Speaker 2: They help you with the pricing Green dot good, Red
- 5:52Speaker 2: dot not as good. And they help you with your
- 5:54Speaker 2: view of the seat for some big matchups coming up
- 5:57Speaker 2: in August, September and eventually leading up to playoffs.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Why would you not use seakeek if you want to
- 6:01Speaker 4: view from your seat. You want to know if it's
- 6:03Speaker 4: a good seat, if it's a good deal. It has
- 6:05Speaker 4: all of it on the app. It's easy to use.

- 6:20Speaker 4: dot on seakeek.
- 6:21Speaker 2: And for MLB tickets, you can get ten percent off
- 6:24Speaker 2: with that promo cover running all season long. Territory one zero.
- 6:27Speaker 2: That's territory ten off your next set of MLB tickets

- 6:32Speaker 2: the description to download the app and have the code
- 6:34Speaker 2: automatically added to your count so you can use it later.
- 6:37Speaker 1: What's going to happen though?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Performance wwise, don't give away or winner will be that later,
- 6:42Speaker 2: but like give me everything else?
- 6:44Speaker 1: Size up?
- 6:45Speaker 6: Who should be good? Might Cao Cammon? Arrow is good?
- 6:49Speaker 6: Brice loves to put on a show. I think who's
- 6:53Speaker 6: a sneaky one? Who's the sneaky one for you? That
- 6:56Speaker 6: people are like, I have no idea? Should hit the
- 6:59Speaker 6: ball that far?
- 6:59Speaker 1: And who the jazz the jazz award? What do you
- 7:03Speaker 1: don't want to give that out?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Well you can give it out. It's okay, it's this
- 7:07Speaker 2: is analysis. Hey, there's one guy they're all good. They
- 7:09Speaker 2: all hit home lowest.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Lowest average launch angle of any of all his home
- 7:15Speaker 3: runs of anybody in the in the.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And that's fine. Jordan Walker line drive guys struggle more now.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Jordan Walker, to me is a guy that could struggle
- 7:24Speaker 4: with this because until this year he hit so many
- 7:26Speaker 4: balls in the ground.
- 7:28Speaker 3: He has made an adjustment.
- 7:29Speaker 4: But to me, it's Harper's done it, Schrever's done it,
- 7:35Speaker 4: Cameron Arrow's done it. Mark Commie, I'm sure has done
- 7:37Speaker 4: one of these in Japan before. To me, it's the
- 7:40Speaker 4: young guys that you, guys that usually the first time
- 7:42Speaker 4: have a little bit of a hard time.
- 7:45Speaker 1: You want launch angle though, right like you want you.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I want big guys, and I want launch angle.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So for two things.
- 7:52Speaker 2: One maybe it mattered more in the past, but now
- 7:55Speaker 2: it's you're not on a clock, so like, get that
- 7:58Speaker 2: real lofty swing one and the baseball's juiced, so it's
- 8:03Speaker 2: gonna go a little more.
- 8:05Speaker 4: That's what That's what I can't wait for, just to
- 8:08Speaker 4: just playing here. I don't know how much you played here.
- 8:10Speaker 4: You know you were in the other league, so until
- 8:13Speaker 4: you may, until you played for the Braids, you probably
- 8:15Speaker 4: didn't play. But I just love watching and because remembering
- 8:18Speaker 4: where dudes hit home runs, like I think it was
- 8:21Speaker 4: in Sports Illustrated Barry Bonds hit the th HP sign
- 8:25Speaker 4: that was on the like third deck one time when
- 8:29Speaker 4: he was here as a visitor. So I want to
- 8:31Speaker 4: see if dudes can get to that spot.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I want to bet. But I love the distance. I
- 8:36Speaker 3: love seeing how far these balls go.
- 8:37Speaker 4: And I think I think Tags is going to hit
- 8:40Speaker 4: the ball farther than people expect. You got a big guy,
- 8:46Speaker 4: you also want a guy got that can hit, not
- 8:48Speaker 4: just pull home those. Yeah, you just need a guy
- 8:53Speaker 4: that can run, like like Cagle can get a ball
- 8:56Speaker 4: out and still go to left right here, Yes of
- 9:00Speaker 4: that to me, I think left. He's having advantage here
- 9:03Speaker 4: because I think it's a short reports right and if
- 9:05Speaker 4: you are strong enough to still go to the left, uh, which.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Kagliam can do. But it ends up happening every year.
- 9:13Speaker 4: It's not who you expect to win that wins most
- 9:15Speaker 4: of the time, so I mean other than one obviously
- 9:17Speaker 4: Judge one or stan Juona.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Most of the time it's like.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Oh, this guy's gonna win. Oh wait, this guy got
- 9:23Speaker 4: hot as fire and he made it me. I it's
- 9:27Speaker 4: never I think this park is so tiny. We're talking
- 9:30Speaker 4: to Todd on Friday and he did it in great
- 9:34Speaker 4: American small park. Philly is very close. There's a little
- 9:39Speaker 4: bit of there's a little bit of excitement in Monty's
- 9:43Speaker 4: corner and left center, but that's really like center field,
- 9:47Speaker 4: just left of center.
- 9:48Speaker 3: But even that's still short because of jets in like,
- 9:52Speaker 3: we're gonna see some I think Swarver is gonna hit
- 9:55Speaker 3: the farthest one.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Do you see the odds from bed m jam there
- 10:00Speaker 2: Sber they think's going to win. Schwarber at plus three hundred,
- 10:04Speaker 2: and for the podcast crowd, I just want to read him.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Junior Cameronaro plus four twenty five, Murk Comi plus four
- 10:10Speaker 2: seventy five, Jack cag plus six fifty, Jordan Walker plus
- 10:14Speaker 2: eight hundred, Ben Rice plus eight fifty. They've got Bryce
- 10:16Speaker 2: down at plus eight fifty, and then Contrere's plus fifteen hundred.
- 10:19Speaker 1: They basically are like no chance.
- 10:21Speaker 4: But Junior Camerinero was a plus eleven hundred last year
- 10:25Speaker 4: and he got second place. Yeah, I know it's this
- 10:28Speaker 4: is the winning board, but what to me, I mean,
- 10:31Speaker 4: Schwarber's lines moved. Schwarber was at like plus one seventy.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Five alming back.
- 10:36Speaker 4: So his move and Harper's and Harper's Harper's is to me,
- 10:42Speaker 4: that's the value if we're ting, if we're talking about value. Yeah,
- 10:45Speaker 4: I don't unless there's something with the whole Dino evil thing,
- 10:48Speaker 4: like maybe they think a he hasn't had him throw
- 10:52Speaker 4: to him yet, but Schwarber probably topped him up.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So the place for the enemy, So maybe he's gonna
- 10:57Speaker 2: rig it now I'm kidding, but no.
- 10:59Speaker 3: He's gonna want to wear him out.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, we should take more swings. You know what,
- 11:04Speaker 1: by earlier we should have asked, oh, do you know
- 11:06Speaker 1: what's here? He was right around here before he went on.
- 11:09Speaker 3: He walked by.
- 11:10Speaker 1: He's throwing Harper by the way for the crowd. That
- 11:12Speaker 1: doesn't he thrown justin Harper?
- 11:14Speaker 5: Yeah you don't.
- 11:15Speaker 3: What do you mean who's doing I wonder who's throw
- 11:19Speaker 3: that throw to more than one?
- 11:21Speaker 1: No? Yes, I don't know about this year.
- 11:26Speaker 3: It was like the VP for ur just through. This
- 11:27Speaker 3: is before it became cool to.
- 11:30Speaker 1: You bring your own guy. Yeah, they don't. They haven't
- 11:33Speaker 1: done that recently, haven't they.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I feel like it's like part of your thing is like,
- 11:37Speaker 2: oh man, you know, like here's cal Rock and throwing
- 11:39Speaker 2: to him. It's you know, I feel like it's his
- 11:41Speaker 2: uncles Coast Rice and I'm trying his dad.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Yeah, his favorite his favorite YouTube TV show host Hey
- 11:49Speaker 4: J presents me throwing too control.
- 11:53Speaker 3: You're dude.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Fight.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Would you do if he if he walked.
- 11:59Speaker 4: By from the play our hotel, which is right down
- 12:01Speaker 4: the street, and said, Poppy, you and I we both
- 12:06Speaker 4: we create a little bit of havoc in Boston.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I wanted you to throw to me.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Would you be ready to throw tonight in the Derby
- 12:12Speaker 3: to Wilson Traps. Yeah, I could do.
- 12:15Speaker 4: I need about ten throws to get my all the
- 12:17Speaker 4: scar tissue in my shoulder to break up.
- 12:20Speaker 3: That would be fine.
- 12:21Speaker 1: There you go.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I need I need to okay, like any Craig. Okay,
- 12:25Speaker 3: We're good.
- 12:27Speaker 4: That's how I used to get ready for the seasons,
- 12:29Speaker 4: like to bepat in my high school.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I ould high school.
- 12:31Speaker 4: I'd go there, throw all four round, all four groups.
- 12:34Speaker 4: It's a lot of yep and you get your good
- 12:37Speaker 4: back spin. You're throwing right down the middle. It's target hunter.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Couldn't couldn't agree more. Oh that was the players leaving
- 12:43Speaker 4: I got that bracket.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I was like, what is going on?
- 12:46Speaker 2: They finding America's most wanted. No, it's the players getting
- 12:50Speaker 2: the police escort. We're right near where the players are.
- 12:53Speaker 2: We've got a couple of combos that we just had
- 12:55Speaker 2: with Chris Allen Max Monsey that we're going to show
- 12:57Speaker 2: you soon.
- 12:58Speaker 1: But anyway, first off, that's our derby thoughts.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Props to Mlbivos twenty twenty six and MLB nine Innings
- 13:06Speaker 2: twenty six on your phone app store today, go download
- 13:09Speaker 2: it twice.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Harper, take us to break.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, what did Harper do to that chicken?
- 13:19Speaker 5: That is not how you draw it up?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Nice, Harper's all fire.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You a red velvet guy.
- 13:30Speaker 4: From the first chap to the last out, MLB nine
- 13:36Speaker 4: innings rivals always greens, baseball to life.
- 13:44Speaker 2: All right, we got two minutes and then we are
- 13:46Speaker 2: going to talk about some surprises heading into the break.
- 13:49Speaker 1: But I mean, here's one.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Bob Nightingale thrown his Sunday notes out there and saying,
- 13:53Speaker 2: Schoogle has informed friends he badly wants to stay in
- 13:56Speaker 2: Detroit for the rest of the season in a zero
- 13:58Speaker 2: appetite to be traded.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, theah, but.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Also does anybody really want to be traded in the
- 14:05Speaker 4: last year of their contract one organization?
- 14:08Speaker 1: Many do. Many do want to be traded because they
- 14:11Speaker 1: qualifying offer away. So that's the whole thing.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but still, I mean, he's been there his whole life.
- 14:17Speaker 4: They've come close to making the World Series before he
- 14:20Speaker 4: doesn't come. He comes across as someone that's intensely loyal,
- 14:24Speaker 4: especially the Tigers.
- 14:26Speaker 3: This does not surprise me.
- 14:27Speaker 4: But also at the end of the day, he has
- 14:29Speaker 4: no saying order they Scott Harris comes home and says, Hey, Terror,
- 14:33Speaker 4: guess what we can get all of Whoever's farm system
- 14:36Speaker 4: for you. It's a great round, buddy, thank you.
- 14:39Speaker 3: That's and why it's important to have things in your contract.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I loved hearing it.
- 14:47Speaker 4: But when when I first read that, like I was thinking,
- 14:51Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't think there's an angle to it.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I think he really likes Detroit. I think he's connected
- 14:55Speaker 4: with Detroit. I think he also has lived out his
- 14:58Speaker 4: entire contract. He's been drafted with Detroit. Where you know what,
- 15:03Speaker 4: at the beginning, it didn't look like it was gonna
- 15:05Speaker 4: be what we know of Tarrek Scruble.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Now it was injuries. He was a later pick.
- 15:11Speaker 4: They took a not a flyer because he's you know,
- 15:14Speaker 4: a cy Young winner, two time Sight Young Winner, but
- 15:16Speaker 4: it took a flyer on him out of a no
- 15:19Speaker 4: name college.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yep, it's home.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Let's talk first half surprises, most surprising situation brewing in
- 15:28Speaker 2: the first half of the season. Let's make it a
- 15:30Speaker 2: little more current too, like what is transpired over the
- 15:33Speaker 2: past couple of weeks heading into the break that makes
- 15:35Speaker 2: you go, oh, okay, that changes the way I'm talking
- 15:37Speaker 2: about this team.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Red Sox are on fire suddenly. That's a good example.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Sacramento the other way, the other way, losing nine in
- 15:48Speaker 4: a row going into the break, getting swept by the
- 15:49Speaker 4: White Sox.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Uh, season over.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Season's over.
- 15:52Speaker 4: They're what fourteen or fifteen games under five hundred the
- 15:56Speaker 4: Red Sox he mentioned.
- 15:57Speaker 1: We sent seasons over for well, I don't know if
- 15:59Speaker 1: we said it.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I don't make it still that harshly for Boston because
- 16:02Speaker 4: of where they are. Yeah, and you know, he still
- 16:04Speaker 4: had Sunny Gray and they still have They have some
- 16:06Speaker 4: some pitching obviously that's great, but Oakland and oaklandness. So
- 16:10Speaker 4: I'll never not I saw, I'll never not call them Oakland.
- 16:13Speaker 4: It's like impossible, even when they are in Vegas he Athletics.
- 16:17Speaker 4: To me, this was supposed to be the year where
- 16:19Speaker 4: they really were supposed to contend and they have just
- 16:22Speaker 4: I know injuries have hit them, but they can't pitch
- 16:25Speaker 4: at all, and they're they're a team like this with
- 16:28Speaker 4: Langeliers and I know Kurtz is out, but maybe they
- 16:31Speaker 4: fired their pitching coach or tried all this stuff.
- 16:34Speaker 3: They're fourteen games.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Was at fourteen or fourteen games under five hundred, forty
- 16:39Speaker 4: one and fifty five.
- 16:40Speaker 3: They were first plumps like three months ago. That was
- 16:44Speaker 3: a collapse. Yeah, crazy, It's crazy in Boston. On the
- 16:48Speaker 3: other way, they had a late flight, not the most
- 16:52Speaker 3: recent late flight. They had a late flight.
- 16:55Speaker 4: They were coming home a place that before that everyone
- 16:59Speaker 4: was like, even their players were like, there's a lot
- 17:01Speaker 4: of distractions here. They had a terrible home record. Yankees
- 17:04Speaker 4: came in for four, swept them out of town. Switzler
- 17:09Speaker 4: was that first one schliller. The Yankees gave them that
- 17:11Speaker 4: game because amed Rosario and then Durban humped ing right
- 17:16Speaker 4: over the right over the monster and then like they
- 17:21Speaker 4: have just rolled to win nine straight going into the break.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I know what it's like to lose five straight going
- 17:26Speaker 4: into the break, and that sucks. When you're in a
- 17:28Speaker 4: race to win nine straight. You don't want the you
- 17:32Speaker 4: don't want the break to come because everything they're doing.
- 17:34Speaker 4: They got in at whatever five o'clock into the stadium
- 17:37Speaker 4: for a seven o'clock game, and they went out and
- 17:40Speaker 4: beat the Mets. It's a Mets, but they went out
- 17:43Speaker 4: and beat them. They took care of business and then
- 17:44Speaker 4: they ended up finishing out the series for three straight
- 17:48Speaker 4: series sweeps.
- 17:49Speaker 3: What's going right? They're just figuring out ways to win games.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I think they're I think they're I think they're lying more.
- 17:58Speaker 3: It's still.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Suspect in the sense that who is going to be
- 18:03Speaker 4: the guy that's gonna carry it is Jared Durance this series.
- 18:06Speaker 4: They just show up the Mets. Jared Durant's first hit
- 18:09Speaker 4: was his last step out of the series.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Monastery.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Here's here's what they do they could totally has been great.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Sonny Gray has been incredible.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Uh.
- 18:22Speaker 4: The other big lefty they have, Benet, has been ridiculously good.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Their pitching has been what's been so good? But JamMan
- 18:29Speaker 4: at the back end and the whitlock and the rest
- 18:31Speaker 4: of those guys in there in the bro pen, and
- 18:33Speaker 4: the way their starters have been going.
- 18:34Speaker 3: That's what's been for me.
- 18:36Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:36Speaker 4: You can say their offense isn't that great, but they
- 18:39Speaker 4: pitched their asses off on this team.
- 18:41Speaker 3: That's the thing.
- 18:42Speaker 4: No, I don't say we've ever questioned. We're talking about
- 18:45Speaker 4: what's different. We never questioned that they didn't have good pitching.
- 18:49Speaker 4: That's why they didn't fire any of the pitching. When
- 18:52Speaker 4: they fired all those guys early in the season, it
- 18:55Speaker 4: was all the hitting.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Well, and they're still their thirtith at homers twenty ninth
- 18:57Speaker 1: and you're still not I don't think.
- 19:04Speaker 3: He's the one that did it.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Caleb Durbin's private hitting coach, whatever his name is. He
- 19:09Speaker 4: since he met with him, he has been a different guy.
- 19:12Speaker 4: So maybe they need to hire him.
- 19:13Speaker 3: But that's why I'm saying, maybe I'm not believing it
- 19:15Speaker 3: as much, and that's why the answer was the answer.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I don't know, so then they should be buying. I
- 19:21Speaker 3: think you can do that at the bank deadline, at
- 19:25Speaker 3: the train out name, yes, okay, hew, do you replace
- 19:29Speaker 3: it and need a right handed bats somewhere? Okay, But
- 19:32Speaker 3: I'm saying Jared rant in about one ninety, who are you.
- 19:38Speaker 2: There?
- 19:39Speaker 3: He's not doing what's up and down there or braids?
- 19:43Speaker 4: All right, yes, but if you but I'm saying, there's
- 19:48Speaker 4: no way that fun effort is gonna say we're fine
- 19:51Speaker 4: replacing this question. You're look in the fully. The Figeries
- 19:53Speaker 4: need a right handed back. They're fine replacing replacing Derek Hill,
- 19:59Speaker 4: who I think is still doing it really off. For
- 20:00Speaker 4: the Phillies, you'll find replace it. The Red Sox have
- 20:03Speaker 4: a lot of young guys that I just don't know
- 20:05Speaker 4: if they're gonna go out and say we can get
- 20:08Speaker 4: Joe Adell to replace who in our outfield because he's
- 20:10Speaker 4: a right handed hitter.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I'm not saying he's the answer.
- 20:12Speaker 4: I'm just saying I need the exam if you can
- 20:15Speaker 4: trade Jared Durant and get multiple players back.
- 20:18Speaker 1: And one of them is I get what you're saying though.
- 20:20Speaker 1: He's saying like.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Heavy, yeah, okay, very left hand heavy.
- 20:26Speaker 4: And they for years who've been saying they need it,
- 20:28Speaker 4: mean Wilson and Charles has been the right handed pop
- 20:30Speaker 4: really but they still needed somebody else. So you you know,
- 20:34Speaker 4: Jared Durant is always the name that's bannered about. So
- 20:35Speaker 4: if you could trade a Jared Duran and get a
- 20:37Speaker 4: right handed guy back, would you do it.
- 20:38Speaker 3: To a team?
- 20:39Speaker 4: There's got to be a team out there that needs
- 20:41Speaker 4: a left handed hitting outfielder. I mean, I haven't dug
- 20:45Speaker 4: into it because there's still weeks away from now, but
- 20:47Speaker 4: listen to the Red Sox deserve a lot of I'm
- 20:49Speaker 4: gonna at the Stays. Raise obviously set three games out
- 20:53Speaker 4: of the Yankees. Everyone thought the Yankees are gonna run
- 20:56Speaker 4: away with it, right the White sounds like.
- 20:58Speaker 1: They might be aggressive too.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Sorry interrapped, but it's Bob Knight and Gal's notes yesterday
- 21:01Speaker 2: said they might go after Scoogle.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Uh was a perfect fit for them.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 2: And on the offensive side, they apparently they like to
- 21:10Speaker 2: tell Marte, I don't know if you'll actually the available.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Plus he's got the new trade they said a rise
- 21:14Speaker 2: like he was bringing up like legit names.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But Rais will do that.
- 21:17Speaker 4: The Rais will go for a one year and a
- 21:19Speaker 4: half a year, got do it. They're happy to do
- 21:21Speaker 4: that is down this is but I mean, look at
- 21:25Speaker 4: the division by division, the White Sox in first place.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Nobody had that.
- 21:28Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 21:29Speaker 3: There they can. There's the energy in that ballparking and hint.
- 21:32Speaker 1: The opposite of the team from three four years.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Yes, they look like they know how to play baseball. Yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 4: they brought energy and want to play. Yes, and they
- 21:41Speaker 4: like each other. They're happy to come to the park
- 21:44Speaker 4: because they're winning.
- 21:45Speaker 3: But also it's just I think that's it.
- 21:47Speaker 4: It just looks like a better grip and it looks
- 21:49Speaker 4: like they get along better. And then they're all young,
- 21:52Speaker 4: the healthier, and you throw in they come to the
- 21:55Speaker 4: ballpark and there's a crowd there, which because they're winning,
- 21:58Speaker 4: there's a crowd there, which every I don't care what
- 22:01Speaker 4: team you are, like, we can use the Mets. The
- 22:03Speaker 4: Mets are supposed to be great. The Mets don't win
- 22:05Speaker 4: the city field, there's nobody there.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 22:08Speaker 4: That's the way this works. If you win, you get
- 22:09Speaker 4: more people.
- 22:10Speaker 3: If you lose, you don't.
- 22:11Speaker 4: That's everybody likes to go watch a winner because when
- 22:13Speaker 4: you hit a game, you want to have fun. You
- 22:15Speaker 4: want to enjoy it. And let's say you take your
- 22:16Speaker 4: kids to the game. You want your kids to remember
- 22:18Speaker 4: them winning. You don't want your kids to go there
- 22:20Speaker 4: and say, how dang White Sox lost again and ohd
- 22:23Speaker 4: on this embarrassed to be a White Sox for no
- 22:25Speaker 4: so to me that and they just have a different
- 22:27Speaker 4: energy about it. And they have the whole Mike Vassa
- 22:29Speaker 4: with his wand and all cool like great gets fun.
- 22:33Speaker 4: It's fun to be a be a White Sox than again,
- 22:35Speaker 4: which means I mean, listen, they're fifty and forty five there,
- 22:38Speaker 4: they're criive games over, but during the they're in first place.
- 22:41Speaker 1: That's like the record of every AL team that was
- 22:44Speaker 1: a really.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Good AL teams are five over.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Where Will Venable gets a ton of agree a ton
- 22:49Speaker 4: of credit agrees he got to play with these guys,
- 22:52Speaker 4: or he got to coach these guys, manage these guys
- 22:54Speaker 4: last year, and now they come back and and you
- 22:57Speaker 4: know it's another year. This is what the Tigers, this
- 23:00Speaker 4: is what Scott Harrison said was gonna happen with the Tigers. Well,
- 23:02Speaker 4: they're just getting a year older. The White Socks are
- 23:05Speaker 4: actually doing it. Yeah, I don't think the White Socks
- 23:07Speaker 4: have enough pitching, but that can be addressed obviously.
- 23:10Speaker 1: To me.
- 23:11Speaker 4: My my last thing, the Guardians. The way the Guardians
- 23:14Speaker 4: finished the last half of the first half, I guess
- 23:18Speaker 4: sweeping a really good Marlins team to end the half.
- 23:22Speaker 4: The fact that they were doing all of this staying
- 23:24Speaker 4: within striking range of the White Sox without Jose Ramirez,
- 23:29Speaker 4: I think that is one of the more undercover and
- 23:32Speaker 4: it's standard. Nobody knows what the Guardians are doing. It's
- 23:35Speaker 4: the guard that like the way they played with who
- 23:37Speaker 4: they've played with. I think they're I think they're impressive here.
- 23:42Speaker 4: So like when we go through the standings, I mean,
- 23:44Speaker 4: Rangers in first place, apparently over five hundred, Mariners under
- 23:49Speaker 4: five hundred at the West.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Well, my thing with the West is I still think
- 23:52Speaker 1: the Mariners are gonna go on.
- 23:53Speaker 3: What's wrong with them? Are the under five hundred?
- 23:55Speaker 4: We're almost one hundred games in ninety seven games feet it's.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Only what four.
- 24:04Speaker 4: It's the same problem. Okay, Raves very first place. Still fine,
- 24:09Speaker 4: Flues were coming great wells. They're a great story. They
- 24:12Speaker 4: were in the playoff position.
- 24:13Speaker 2: There's one other team in the National League that has
- 24:16Speaker 2: gotten really hot, but it's over along the stretch. It's
- 24:19Speaker 2: like since I think the beginning of June where their
- 24:23Speaker 2: records another not that one for sure.
- 24:26Speaker 1: There's one more in that scene.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Cubs. Cubs the Cubs are on fire, but they're still
- 24:30Speaker 3: fine out. Yeah, just got the by Pittsburgh and.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Miss a little bit of the tired arm.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Kyle Harrison on the il woodget's on the I l
- 24:39Speaker 2: there was a lame for the Cubs to make this
- 24:42Speaker 2: a good race in the National League.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Are you buying the Cups? Are you buying them because
- 24:47Speaker 4: just remember what they did fifteen straight or whatever early
- 24:50Speaker 4: in the season. Just remember, yeah that they're streaky and
- 24:54Speaker 4: then they go back. I like their defense a lot,
- 24:57Speaker 4: they're built for.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yes, I think they're hitting is more of the wind
- 25:01Speaker 2: Street hitting than the losing Street khitting.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So I like them.
- 25:03Speaker 2: The pitching is the concern for me. So here I'm
- 25:06Speaker 2: buying the Cubs. If the Cubs are buying the Cubs.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Jed Hoyer said, if we're not a buy team, then
- 25:13Speaker 2: we're not as aggressive.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Season.
- 25:17Speaker 5: No.
- 25:17Speaker 2: No, but he's saying they were a quote you remember
- 25:20Speaker 2: I'm paraphrasing, but he was like, we really buy if
- 25:24Speaker 2: we have a chance at the buy by, And I'm
- 25:28Speaker 2: like why wild card teams.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Can actually do a lot of damn movies.
- 25:33Speaker 2: You don't know if you're going to be the if
- 25:34Speaker 2: you're within four or five games of the Brewers just
- 25:36Speaker 2: grab two starters. I know it's not that easy, but
- 25:39Speaker 2: they need starting pitching, well pitching in general, because they're
- 25:43Speaker 2: down half their arms.
- 25:44Speaker 4: We talked about that, and I thought about it after
- 25:46Speaker 4: the show. I just I don't hate that comment because
- 25:51Speaker 4: a GM saying stuff like that, what does that? How
- 25:56Speaker 4: does that permeate to the field with the dudes who
- 25:58Speaker 4: are grinding. Do you guys tell me we're always going
- 26:01Speaker 4: to They're always going to want to win. Nobody cares
- 26:04Speaker 4: what the front office says. I understand that, but I
- 26:07Speaker 4: think it is a soft is a soft rhetoric to
- 26:11Speaker 4: spit to your players that, oh, well, we're only really
- 26:15Speaker 4: in this if we're gonna get.
- 26:17Speaker 3: A buye in the first round.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Well only in this.
- 26:19Speaker 1: But he said that's when they are serious buyers.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Oh, I know you know what AJ would do in
- 26:24Speaker 2: the club ass if you heard that quote, you'd be like,
- 26:26Speaker 2: come on, guys, we got to win today. If we
- 26:28Speaker 2: don't get the buye, we don't get more players, you
- 26:30Speaker 2: would definitely.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Be saying, of course, and by the way, before we go,
- 26:33Speaker 4: I know, we gotta go. Derek Chillon deserves a ton
- 26:35Speaker 4: of carder to what he's done with the Twins or
- 26:36Speaker 4: their injuries. Where they're at, I mean, that's they're a
- 26:39Speaker 4: sneaky good team. Ollie marmal and the Cardinals. It's Don Kelly, Yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 4: but they're still right there. Don Kelly with the Pirates,
- 26:47Speaker 4: I mean some teams Nationals definitely with things that they're
- 26:50Speaker 4: starting to right. But just the fact that they did
- 26:53Speaker 4: this for half a year. Yeah, at this level, listen.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I was on a team in twenty fifteen of the Braves.
- 26:58Speaker 4: We were forty one and forty one and about to
- 27:00Speaker 4: go to the break and we traded away our whole
- 27:02Speaker 4: team for no reason. That's we were ahead of the
- 27:04Speaker 4: Mets in twenty fifteen and they went to the World Series.
- 27:06Speaker 4: We almost lost a hundred games.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So yeah, Hey, for the families out there looking for

- 28:09Speaker 2: Did you guys see this back and forth with the
- 28:12Speaker 2: Royals and Vinnie Pasquentino and Lucas Ersik and then the
- 28:18Speaker 2: Orioles plays Alexander guy hit by a pitch and he's
- 28:22Speaker 2: gonna miss some time now, which sucks?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Right, what is it? The fracture is a fracture, Yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 1: which sucks.
- 28:28Speaker 2: But there was back and forth, Vinnie says, basically in
- 28:32Speaker 2: his Vinnie p way, like we're not trying to hit you.
- 28:35Speaker 1: So you guys can read the screen right now and
- 28:37Speaker 1: say some of the big parts of it, right, we.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Have some Vinnie's like, we had some up and in pitches,
- 28:43Speaker 2: I mean, and he was saying like he's confident right now,
- 28:45Speaker 2: but like we're not trying to hit him.
- 28:47Speaker 1: He's just replied this morning and said, weird take.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Never thought it was intentional, but the two quick pitches
- 28:54Speaker 2: to try and catch me off guard led me to
- 28:55Speaker 2: now missing games.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Thanks for the compliments, though.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Bigfoot is reply to Vinnie p on Twitter, while Ersik said,
- 29:02Speaker 2: I I do quick pitch people.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's part of my game, so help me out here.
- 29:06Speaker 3: That's what he was pissed about. He was pissed about
- 29:08Speaker 3: the quick pitches, but he does that. But guys always
- 29:13Speaker 3: always a chirping. I know it's not legal. I'll just say,
- 29:17Speaker 3: you're not going to have to give me all of
- 29:19Speaker 3: your Raiders stuff. Why do you get the cheat to
- 29:20Speaker 3: give me.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Aut But it's not if it's.
- 29:25Speaker 3: But this is this is the this is a little
- 29:27Speaker 3: bit of the inside. Dude's chirp about it. Well got
- 29:30Speaker 3: all the time. Oh guys, hitters hate it.
- 29:33Speaker 4: That's like hitter's just Latron Harkins was the first one
- 29:35Speaker 4: to ever do it, and I'd be like, La Trony
- 29:37Speaker 4: can't get one out, you gotta do this, and he's like,
- 29:39Speaker 4: we're rewards what And the same thing, like dude's walking
- 29:42Speaker 4: back after swinging it three straight breaking balls and he's
- 29:45Speaker 4: walking back to the dug out.
- 29:46Speaker 3: We were first ball right, hit the clothes ball like
- 29:49Speaker 3: it's constant.
- 29:50Speaker 1: And the tantas even our buddy when people are bunting
- 29:53Speaker 1: on them, you know, everybody's got to complaint.
- 30:00Speaker 2: We're talking MLB Draft, good bad, whatever with the legends
- 30:04Speaker 2: part of an iconic Baseball America brand, JJ co.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Opper co Opper.
- 30:10Speaker 3: It's a silent pie coor oh coor core.
- 30:14Speaker 1: JJ's great to have you all. We want to talk
- 30:16Speaker 1: right away about the number one pick.
- 30:21Speaker 5: Well, the great news is you will never replay this
- 30:24Speaker 5: clip where you mispronounced my name. There will never be
- 30:27Speaker 5: a need to. There's never going to be the point
- 30:29Speaker 5: where it's like JJ co Opper is going into the
- 30:32Speaker 5: Hall of Fame. Oh, it can't use that. However, if
- 30:36Speaker 5: Rock Schlowski's as good as we think he could be,
- 30:39Speaker 5: it's going to be really depressing to realize that we're
- 30:41Speaker 5: never going to be able to use with the first
- 30:43Speaker 5: pick in the draft, Rock Chalus, No, that won't work,
- 30:50Speaker 5: So can't use that clip now. Maybe maybe go back
- 30:54Speaker 5: and change it.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Did they pick the wrong guy? That's what I wanted
- 30:56Speaker 3: to know. Did they pick the wrong guy?
- 30:58Speaker 4: They get confused because this is a this was he
- 31:02Speaker 4: was only the number one pick from a year ago.
- 31:04Speaker 4: As soon as the draft was over, everyone pretty much
- 31:07Speaker 4: said it was gonna be this person. It's not like
- 31:11Speaker 4: he's snuck up on anybody.
- 31:13Speaker 5: To aj Okay, I feel like you understand white Sox fan,
- 31:16Speaker 5: What did do you think? How what percentage of average
- 31:20Speaker 5: white Sox fans do you think know who Rocked Scholawski
- 31:23Speaker 5: is before?
- 31:25Speaker 4: Almost says almost every white Sox fan has been talking
- 31:29Speaker 4: about them having the number one pick since last year.
- 31:32Speaker 4: For a whole year, they've said we're gonna get Rock
- 31:35Speaker 4: Schilowski number one. Overall, he's gonna be another shortstop. But
- 31:39Speaker 4: they can add in their organization with all of the
- 31:42Speaker 4: other shortstops they have.
- 31:44Speaker 3: They've been excited. Every white Sox fan I talked.
- 31:47Speaker 4: To say, man, we have Montgomery and Bonhamer and all
- 31:50Speaker 4: these other traded Jacob Gonzalez away, but they have all
- 31:53Speaker 4: these guys coming, and we're gonna get one more next
- 31:56Speaker 4: year in July, and then you have all not all
- 32:01Speaker 4: of them, but I'd say ninety five percent of white
- 32:03Speaker 4: tax fans been planning.
- 32:04Speaker 3: To have this pick for a year.
- 32:07Speaker 5: So yeah, I know, like I look, I know, I'm
- 32:10Speaker 5: I'm bathed in the draft for three hundred and sixty
- 32:12Speaker 5: five days a year. I get it that there are
- 32:14Speaker 5: going to be players when you go further down in
- 32:16Speaker 5: this that no one, no one, no general person's going
- 32:20Speaker 5: to have the pronunciation. They may screw it up, whatever,
- 32:22Speaker 5: but the one to one pick does seem like one
- 32:24Speaker 5: that you kind of really gotta gotta nail, especially when
- 32:28Speaker 5: he's also been the Golden Spike Soulward winner.
- 32:31Speaker 1: He's been like a prominent guy going back to high school.
- 32:34Speaker 5: This isn't like, okay, wait, someone that we never knew
- 32:37Speaker 5: got picked it. I mean, it's a flob But again,
- 32:40Speaker 5: if unfortunately it was a you don't want to flop
- 32:44Speaker 5: the one one pick. I mean, you know, with the
- 32:47Speaker 5: first pick, the Chicago Bulls select Michael jod you know,
- 32:53Speaker 5: I mean, you know you can't do that.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. It's not yet.
- 32:57Speaker 4: We don't have the European name for the second round
- 33:00Speaker 4: to the NBA Draft here, like, this is the guy
- 33:02Speaker 4: we knew this was gonna happen. Tell us about him though,
- 33:06Speaker 4: because outside of AJ's fandom, the White Sox and unless
- 33:12Speaker 4: you know college baseball, what are the White Sox getting here?
- 33:17Speaker 5: So this was an interesting because I do think also
- 33:19Speaker 5: their White Sox thans who had fun kind of debates
- 33:22Speaker 5: about this because you had the choice of there's a
- 33:24Speaker 5: lot of noise. There's a lot of talk of is
- 33:27Speaker 5: Rock Shlaowski's still gonna be the the one pick? And
- 33:29Speaker 5: I think a lot of that makes sense from a
- 33:30Speaker 5: standpoint that the White Sox have to there is no
- 33:33Speaker 5: value in a draft pool system world to be like,
- 33:37Speaker 5: he's our guy, We're gonna get him no matter what
- 33:40Speaker 5: you play. You know, you say, hey, what's Grady Emerson's number?
- 33:43Speaker 5: What Frock Schulawski's number. But at the end of the day,
- 33:46Speaker 5: what they got is a shortstop who's pretty close to
- 33:52Speaker 5: a sure fire. Yes, this guy is a shortstop, memoll Seed.
- 33:55Speaker 5: They have Colston Montgomery. He's kind of got the veteran
- 33:58Speaker 5: privileges now of a guy who's already there good shortstop already.
- 34:01Speaker 5: He could play second base and be a stud second baseman.
- 34:04Speaker 5: He could probably play third base and be a stud
- 34:06Speaker 5: third base as well. But this is the guy with
- 34:08Speaker 5: real shortstop tools defensively and offensively. If you say who's
- 34:13Speaker 5: been the most productive college hitter over the past two
- 34:16Speaker 5: years combined, I think the answer is Rock Sholawski. Now,
- 34:20Speaker 5: if you want to say, was he the most productive
- 34:21Speaker 5: hitter in college baseball this year? Probably not.
- 34:23Speaker 1: He was good, but he.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Wasn't any better. His numbers were maybe slightly worse than
- 34:28Speaker 5: his production last year. But if you dig deeper into it,
- 34:32Speaker 5: the other thing that stands out is he doesn't really
- 34:34Speaker 5: have a whole lot of massive flaws. He hits velocity,
- 34:39Speaker 5: he recognizes spin. He doesn't really you know, he kind
- 34:43Speaker 5: of uses the whole field. But at the same time,
- 34:45Speaker 5: when he gets in situations where he kind of gets
- 34:48Speaker 5: an ADVANTAGEOU accounts he knows how to basically, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 5: I am gonna I got a pitch I'm looking for,
- 34:53Speaker 5: I'm gonna pull it down the line hit a home
- 34:54Speaker 5: run is kind of just His power output was probably,
- 35:00Speaker 5: i'll be honest, like maybe a little better than his
- 35:02Speaker 5: ed's and all might indicate maybe that's going to be
- 35:04Speaker 5: a little bit of it's turn long term. But I
- 35:06Speaker 5: would say this is a as about as well. You
- 35:13Speaker 5: have so much track record here that the White Sox
- 35:15Speaker 5: can feel very comfortable. This should be a relative at
- 35:17Speaker 5: fast mover. It should be someone who I would be
- 35:20Speaker 5: shocked at all if we saw him kind of knocking
- 35:22Speaker 5: on the door in big leagues at some point next
- 35:24Speaker 5: year if he stays healthy. And the key thing here
- 35:26Speaker 5: is is, yes, they have a lot of shortstops. This
- 35:29Speaker 5: is it's great to have a lot of short stops.
- 35:31Speaker 5: We've seen this all the time. These are guys that
- 35:33Speaker 5: you can play pretty much anywhere. Shortstops can move in
- 35:37Speaker 5: a way that if you draft a third base then
- 35:39Speaker 5: you say, well, we don't we have a third basement. Okay,
- 35:40Speaker 5: well you can be a first baseman, you might be
- 35:42Speaker 5: a be a right fielder, but with a short stop,
- 35:44Speaker 5: you can be a short second basement. He could be
- 35:46Speaker 5: a third baseman, he could play in the outfield for you.
- 35:48Speaker 5: There's a lot of things that rock Flos can do,
- 35:50Speaker 5: not a great runner. One thing I will say is
- 35:52Speaker 5: it's not gonna be a center fielder. Who's gonna just
- 35:54Speaker 5: you know, Jackson Merrill and go from shortstop to the
- 35:56Speaker 5: center field like that. Necessarily it's not.
- 35:58Speaker 1: A great runner.
- 35:59Speaker 5: That's probably one of the you know, minor downside of him,
- 36:01Speaker 5: but overall, the guy who's kind of in the wire
- 36:05Speaker 5: to wire number one prospect the consensus, I would say,
- 36:08Speaker 5: number one prospect in the draft. Going back to this
- 36:10Speaker 5: time last year, JJ.
- 36:12Speaker 4: How close were the I know it was kind of
- 36:14Speaker 4: a I don't want to say Floyd to get his
- 36:18Speaker 4: number down, but how close was it to Grady Emerson?
- 36:20Speaker 4: And then you hurt some von Lackey kind of rumors
- 36:23Speaker 4: flying around that he might be the number one pick?
- 36:26Speaker 3: How close was it or was it always Rock is
- 36:29Speaker 3: the number one pick?
- 36:31Speaker 5: I think it was a real discussion, and I think
- 36:33Speaker 5: it should have been like, look, Brady Emerson, that is
- 36:36Speaker 5: a premium bat. It's a high school player, but that's
- 36:38Speaker 5: a premium bat. That is someone who very much if
- 36:41Speaker 5: you told me he ends up being better than Rock
- 36:43Speaker 5: Slowski the long term, not a crazy idea at all.
- 36:46Speaker 5: I would say Rock's a little bit better as a
- 36:47Speaker 5: short spot. But you needed to have a real discussion.
- 36:50Speaker 5: This is not something I would say that we kind
- 36:52Speaker 5: of kept getting consensus from front offices, from scouts that
- 36:56Speaker 5: this is a three tier cop tier or maybe a
- 37:00Speaker 5: top two tier, with Chilaski, Emerson, Lackey slightly behind that
- 37:04Speaker 5: just by a slight touch. And then after that it's like, okay,
- 37:08Speaker 5: now it gets all crazy, and that's why you saw.
- 37:11Speaker 5: I would say, like picks six, you know, picks down,
- 37:15Speaker 5: you know, six and nine and all where the Royals
- 37:18Speaker 5: takes Zion Rose, and I would say that some teams
- 37:20Speaker 5: may love him, some teams may have been like, now
- 37:22Speaker 5: we would have taken him to twenty five. That was
- 37:24Speaker 5: where it really widened out. But at the top it
- 37:27Speaker 5: was Chilawski and Emerson and then to a slightly lesser extent, Lackie.
- 37:31Speaker 5: If you told me that the White Sox kind of realistically,
- 37:35Speaker 5: not like, oh, we're just playing the game to talk
- 37:37Speaker 5: down bonuses, but realistically we're considering Emerson until the you know,
- 37:44Speaker 5: till the the lead up to the draft. That makes
- 37:46Speaker 5: perfect sense. He's that good of a prospect. Again, if
- 37:49Speaker 5: you ask me right now, who's going to be a
- 37:51Speaker 5: better big leaguer Chilowski or Emerson, I'm gonna say Chilawski.
- 37:56Speaker 5: But that's because Emerson's a high school player. There's more,
- 38:00Speaker 5: there's more unknown with Emerson. But if you said, okay,
- 38:04Speaker 5: give me the odds that one of these guys is
- 38:07Speaker 5: a franchise type player, perennial All Star, I might say
- 38:12Speaker 5: that Emerson has a slightly better chance to do that.
- 38:14Speaker 5: I just feel better about Chilowski's chance of being the
- 38:17Speaker 5: comp that we've kind of thrown around on. Cholowski is
- 38:21Speaker 5: is a Dancy Swanson type, which I feel like we've
- 38:24Speaker 5: had some people respond to us and say, oh, you
- 38:25Speaker 5: want to do better, No, you don't like If you
- 38:27Speaker 5: do that at one one thumbs up, you've done great.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Like jam P Swanson has been a very an excellent
- 38:34Speaker 5: shortstop for pretty close to a decade. Now he's going
- 38:37Speaker 5: to keep doing it for a while longer. That's a
- 38:39Speaker 5: player who is great. And I would say that if
- 38:43Speaker 5: you got that out of Rock Shoulowski, you would be
- 38:45Speaker 5: very happy with the outcome.
- 38:47Speaker 4: What team have you been able to digest the entire draft?
- 38:50Speaker 4: What team do you feel like, wow, really made leafs
- 38:54Speaker 4: and bounds over other other teams.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Okay, I'll cheat for say the White Sox because I
- 39:01Speaker 5: not just love what they did at one but then
- 39:03Speaker 5: they went back and because they had a lot of picks.
- 39:05Speaker 5: But like when you look at a guy like a
- 39:07Speaker 5: land In Tomey, who I know, it's it's fun and
- 39:10Speaker 5: cute to say, oh, they just took him because you know,
- 39:12Speaker 5: he's basically Jim Tomay's kid. But land In tome and
- 39:16Speaker 5: Cole Prosek, I really love Cole Prosek, who was picked
- 39:18Speaker 5: forty for them. I would say that the Braves did
- 39:21Speaker 5: something very interesting where you look at their top two picks,
- 39:24Speaker 5: they went, you know, basically the college route, but then
- 39:27Speaker 5: they added some really nice high school arms after that.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Kind of like that draft a lot. Again, there's pit
- 39:33Speaker 5: their draft where you're kind of also could say it's
- 39:35Speaker 5: partly because they had so many picks. I really liked
- 39:38Speaker 5: what the Cardinals did. But I will say one that's
- 39:41Speaker 5: kind of an in the opposite direction, which is I'm
- 39:44Speaker 5: no way think that the Dodgers have won the best draft.
- 39:46Speaker 5: No way, they can't. They had so few picks. I
- 39:49Speaker 5: will say, though, it would not be shocked if we
- 39:51Speaker 5: look back at this draft for the Dodgers five years
- 39:54Speaker 5: from now and said, how do they keep getting away
- 39:56Speaker 5: with this? Because they are sitting here they didn't have
- 39:59Speaker 5: a pick until the fourth round, and you look at
- 40:02Speaker 5: their draft you're like, okay, I I you know, I'm
- 40:05Speaker 5: sorry that had one pick. They had pick forty bow
- 40:07Speaker 5: low ants and they did another pick until the fourth round.
- 40:10Speaker 5: And I still look at this draft and say, there's
- 40:11Speaker 5: some guys I like here, which shouldn't happen when you
- 40:13Speaker 5: basically have one pick in the top one hundred and
- 40:16Speaker 5: thirty picks. But the Dodgers are pretty good at finding
- 40:19Speaker 5: guys who have the traits that they can develop. I
- 40:22Speaker 5: would say, at the same time, I love that we
- 40:24Speaker 5: had two days.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Of the draft.
- 40:26Speaker 5: You have to kind of wait to see how the
- 40:28Speaker 5: full picture draws out, because if you'd asked me about
- 40:30Speaker 5: the Red Sox draft after the first round, I'd be like,
- 40:34Speaker 5: I don't understand it at all. But then we saw
- 40:38Speaker 5: it and take some guys later on where you're like, Okay,
- 40:40Speaker 5: now I see they're going to save money here, they're
- 40:42Speaker 5: going to spend it there. Still could be a little
- 40:44Speaker 5: bit challenging, but at the same time, much different than
- 40:47Speaker 5: it would have looked like if you just asked about
- 40:49Speaker 5: that draft after pick forty.
- 40:51Speaker 4: All right, JJ, real quick, who's the number one prospect
- 40:54Speaker 4: for next year.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Who's going to be drafted one one? We talked about
- 40:57Speaker 3: raw for a whole year. Who's the number one pick
- 40:59Speaker 3: for next little.
- 41:00Speaker 5: I have good news for you guys. We already have
- 41:02Speaker 5: our mock draft for next year already up, and I
- 41:04Speaker 5: would actually say that Dylan Seward, who is basically this
- 41:09Speaker 5: shortstop from California, who, if you said, describe him right now,
- 41:14Speaker 5: the way I would describe him as is, Okay, we
- 41:16Speaker 5: just talked about Grady Emerson, Grady Emerson's bat. Now if
- 41:19Speaker 5: take Grady Emerson's bat and Jacob Lombard, who is in
- 41:21Speaker 5: this draft, who's considered the best defensive shortstop in the
- 41:23Speaker 5: first round, put those two together and that gives you
- 41:26Speaker 5: Dylan Seward. I would not be shocked. DA's Whitney. If
- 41:30Speaker 5: you've been healthy for Oregon State, maybe would have a
- 41:32Speaker 5: chance to kind of compete for that. But Whitney blew
- 41:34Speaker 5: out his elbow and will probably miss the entire twenty
- 41:38Speaker 5: twenty seven season, which was with Whitney hurt, I would
- 41:42Speaker 5: be shocked at all. If Seward kind of does what
- 41:44Speaker 5: Rock Shlawski did and it's kind of our poll to poll,
- 41:47Speaker 5: he's our number one prospect right now as we get
- 41:49Speaker 5: out of the twenty sixth Draft. Would not surprise me
- 41:52Speaker 5: at all if Dylan Seward is our number one prospect
- 41:54Speaker 5: at this time next year and we're talking about whoever
- 41:57Speaker 5: wins the lottery, the Angels or whoever being yet one
- 42:00Speaker 5: to one having taken Dylan Seuler, and we're saying this
- 42:02Speaker 5: is you know, this is an impact addition to a club. JJ.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Awesome coverage, Broa.
- 42:08Speaker 3: We need better coverage of the draft.
- 42:11Speaker 2: No, we.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Have better coverage. Coverage is incredible, But I'm saying from
- 42:17Speaker 3: a sports.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Team, we bury this thing Saturday afternoon like under games
- 42:22Speaker 2: and every I mean quiet quitting.
- 42:25Speaker 5: No, can I ask that? Can I ask one request
- 42:27Speaker 5: for next year for the draft, which again it should
- 42:29Speaker 5: not start when it did one you know that looked
- 42:31Speaker 5: weird to have it at one thirty. But on top
- 42:33Speaker 5: of that, I just have a simple request. Can we
- 42:36Speaker 5: not be tearing down the set during rounds two, three,
- 42:39Speaker 5: and four, so like when they're announcing picks, you're hearing
- 42:43Speaker 5: jack hammering and all in the background and lists going
- 42:45Speaker 5: up and down and all that, which, by the way,
- 42:48Speaker 5: we were there to cover the draft until you know,
- 42:50Speaker 5: pick the last pick of the four rounds over we
- 42:53Speaker 5: were kicked out. We can't cover it there, like I
- 42:55Speaker 5: don't know, you know, like we like being there. But
- 42:57Speaker 5: at the same time, it would have been a lot
- 42:58Speaker 5: better for us if we hadn't be. We had to
- 43:00Speaker 5: pick up literally mid draft to get out of there
- 43:03Speaker 5: because we were in danger because they were lowering the
- 43:05Speaker 5: lighting trust at all over the area where everyone was
- 43:10Speaker 5: setting up, but set up.
- 43:12Speaker 2: So the question would would NBA, NFL would they ever
- 43:16Speaker 2: be doing construction on their draft, tearing it down while
- 43:19Speaker 2: the what second third, like these are not the early
- 43:22Speaker 2: rounds two? I mean, they wouldn't do that for anything.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Daniel Jackson, the Golden Spikes Award winner, was being picked
- 43:27Speaker 5: as this was happening, Like not like guys where you like,
- 43:30Speaker 5: no one's ever heard of them. This was the guy
- 43:32Speaker 5: who was literally quoted, you know, by the Golden Spikes
- 43:35Speaker 5: was the most productive player in college base pleader.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Here and this is important because we love the game.
- 43:39Speaker 1: We promote the game.
- 43:40Speaker 2: We are saying something that is going on within the
- 43:43Speaker 2: sport that everybody that works for the league to is
- 43:45Speaker 2: saying the same things to us. We're just delivering the
- 43:47Speaker 2: message because some people can and can't say this stuff.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I just want to leave it at that. Because we
- 43:52Speaker 1: love the game, we want to make it better. We
- 43:53Speaker 1: have to call it out because many people can't.
- 43:55Speaker 2: So thank you JJ for the coverage you got thirty
- 43:58Speaker 2: minutes later to bring it on cheap watch out just.
- 44:01Speaker 5: So we'll feel on hot sheet. Put more about this.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Okay, you got it, Thanks j J. We'll be all
- 44:05Speaker 1: right back everyone.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Many people have this problem. I want to eat healthy.
- 44:09Speaker 2: I have the willpower, I don't have the time and
- 44:12Speaker 2: the organization. I need help.
- 44:14Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 44:15Speaker 3: I mean you go to Factor. I got two boys
- 44:17Speaker 3: that are looking for the gains and they always come
- 44:19Speaker 3: in the house, which is I'm looking for food. Now
- 44:23Speaker 3: they have actual healthy food that is great for them,
- 44:27Speaker 3: and you know what, it's ready in the fridge for
- 44:29Speaker 3: them to pop in and make it right away.
- 44:31Speaker 2: And they have meals built around your goals. It could
- 44:34Speaker 2: be weight loss, overall nutrition gains, more protein, fresh never frozen,
- 44:40Speaker 2: over one hundred rotating weekly meals, including globally inspired flavors
- 44:45Speaker 2: like Mediterranean and Asian. I get all kinds of different
- 44:48Speaker 2: salads from Factor that I love, quick easy. They can
- 44:52Speaker 2: be ready in two minutes. Head to factor Meals dot com,
- 44:55Speaker 2: slash foul fifty off and use code foul fifty ol

- 45:02Speaker 2: per box with new subscription only while supplies last until
- 45:06Speaker 2: nine twenty seven, twenty six.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Let's says a lock corner time. I feel like there
- 45:19Speaker 1: were two controversies.
- 45:20Speaker 2: One was really mainstage, mainstream Zach Wheeler not getting the
- 45:24Speaker 2: ask and we asked Chris Sale about it recently on
- 45:27Speaker 2: the show and then eventually got the ask and said no.
- 45:30Speaker 2: And the other one is Cam Schlitzler saying no, he's
- 45:34Speaker 2: not going to pitch. He's not hurt, he just doesn't
- 45:36Speaker 2: feel comfortable doing it right now. But John Schneider said
- 45:38Speaker 2: he wasn't going to be the starter anyway. It was
- 45:40Speaker 2: going to be Dylan Cease. So fake your poison. Where
- 45:43Speaker 2: do you want to start?
- 45:44Speaker 4: Well, Zach, we were thinking, to me, was crazy. He
- 45:46Speaker 4: should have made it and then they should have just
- 45:49Speaker 4: replaced him right away. But he did say he would pitch,
- 45:51Speaker 4: which I think in his home city of Philly, they
- 45:54Speaker 4: should have given him that option. Whether he wanted to
- 45:56Speaker 4: or not. He deserves to be here. We showed his numbers.
- 46:00Speaker 4: I mean, was he ten and one or two one
- 46:02Speaker 4: e r A.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Something like that? He said he would pitch, So I
- 46:05Speaker 3: think that's crazy.
- 46:06Speaker 4: This ran through with Hunter Goodman not being asked to
- 46:08Speaker 4: be in the home run derviy for me, a guy
- 46:10Speaker 4: who's in the top five in the league of home
- 46:11Speaker 4: runs not being asked. So I but then, what I
- 46:15Speaker 4: don't understand is I get players have egos, but I
- 46:18Speaker 4: don't understand why Zach Wheeler then turned it down.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Is there is it a scheduling thing where it's like,
- 46:23Speaker 2: all right, well, I guess it's a no. All right,
- 46:24Speaker 2: fam We're going to Bahamas for two days.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Is it like that? Or do you think it's like, hey,
- 46:28Speaker 1: it's disrespectful.
- 46:29Speaker 2: I've been in the game for a long again, I
- 46:32Speaker 2: don't know, but I'm going to bring him on at
- 46:34Speaker 2: some point and ask him about it.
- 46:35Speaker 4: I just wish he was in the game and pitching
- 46:37Speaker 4: the same because I like to see him, especially in Philly.
- 46:41Speaker 4: I love it that he said, well, how do you
- 46:44Speaker 4: not pick how because of a rule? Like I'm because
- 46:47Speaker 4: I'm pitching Sunday, So it's all of a sudden the rule.
- 46:50Speaker 4: So did major League Baseball turn back around and go oh, well,
- 46:54Speaker 4: it is a rule, but now we're not because we're
- 46:56Speaker 4: getting bad pub to me. If that's the case. He
- 47:00Speaker 4: was told it was a rule, and that's why you're
- 47:02Speaker 4: not We're not gonna pick you. I love the fact
- 47:04Speaker 4: that he said no, because they said it was a
- 47:09Speaker 4: role before and now oh no, no, no, no, no,
- 47:11Speaker 4: actually it's.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Not a ring.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Okay, well I have a role.
- 47:13Speaker 2: We have to go right to media day, Tresha Whitaker
- 47:16Speaker 2: saying nope, I was told yes, no, no, you're told.
- 47:19Speaker 3: No, Scott in there. We changed the rules on you.
- 47:25Speaker 4: For like major League Baseball. We can change the rules
- 47:27Speaker 4: when we went to video. But so anyways, uh don't.
- 47:33Speaker 4: I thought Wheeler should have been here from the get go.
- 47:34Speaker 4: I didn't think it was either. But what someone told
- 47:37Speaker 4: me though that I forget who told me it might
- 47:40Speaker 4: have been Bob nine when I saw must like Wheeler
- 47:42Speaker 4: wasn't voted in on like the top by the players
- 47:46Speaker 4: because the players vote on the pitchers and he was
- 47:48Speaker 4: far down the list, so they didn't go and ask, yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 4: it's what I think. I don't know that Shocker players
- 47:54Speaker 4: got it wrong. Shocker players didn't vote Otani as the
- 47:58Speaker 4: best player that's your favorite, argum, that's my favorite. But
- 48:00Speaker 4: it's it's always gonna be my argument because they're filling
- 48:03Speaker 4: out the exact same papers like they're filling it out,
- 48:06Speaker 4: and they're probably filling it out in the middle of
- 48:09Speaker 4: the beginning of June.
- 48:11Speaker 3: But what we have phones? Send that John right to
- 48:15Speaker 3: your phone.
- 48:15Speaker 1: No, too complicated.
- 48:16Speaker 4: On July whenever they choose everybody, Hey, now we have
- 48:20Speaker 4: to pick pictures. But let me see the stats with it.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, Zach Wheeler. Of course I haven't seen
- 48:26Speaker 4: him yet. I haven't seen him yet this year, So
- 48:28Speaker 4: what are his numbers? It takes zero time, But they
- 48:31Speaker 4: want to print it out. They want to throw it
- 48:34Speaker 4: on the table. I've seen dudes go here, you fill
- 48:36Speaker 4: it out.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Many people would hand it to the PR guy and
- 48:39Speaker 3: go here.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Philosophy like, that's actually not bad.
- 48:42Speaker 2: When a player doesn't pay attention at all in the
- 48:45Speaker 2: hands it to someone that doesn't, I know it's it's.
- 48:51Speaker 3: And then we should be here, That's what I'm saying.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Then then don't let the players vote for this.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I hope he sits in the stands. He's like, well,
- 48:58Speaker 3: I's gonna be in Philly anyway. He went. I'm sure
- 49:00Speaker 3: he went back.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Home in Georgia Home and Georgia Hill.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Well, good for him, he gets a break.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Should Cam Schlittler have been the starter if.
- 49:08Speaker 3: He John Snider?
- 49:10Speaker 4: He's rewarding a guy that they signed as a free agent.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Is that fair?
- 49:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the manager. You can do whatever he wants.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Why did the man Why does Cam Schluller say he
- 49:17Speaker 4: doesn't want to he was scheduled to pitch just because
- 49:20Speaker 4: he wasn't starting.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I think the bigger thing, because you can say whatever
- 49:24Speaker 3: it is that he said, Oh it's going to be
- 49:27Speaker 3: ceased anyway. I think the bigger story is camp Splitzer
- 49:30Speaker 3: not pitch it like are we is? This is he's
- 49:34Speaker 3: starting a trend of young guys who are I mean,
- 49:38Speaker 3: nobody's doing what he's doing. He's front runner right now
- 49:41Speaker 3: for Alsim. But he's starting a trend that is going
- 49:45Speaker 3: to put baseball in a place like the NBA, and
- 49:48Speaker 3: then we're going to start seeing stupid three on three
- 49:51Speaker 3: competition where we're throwing basketball, so we're flipping baseballs and
- 49:54Speaker 3: we're taking soft toss during game from playing with football
- 49:57Speaker 3: out on the field.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I don't think we're at that.
- 49:59Speaker 5: No, but but what, but what?
- 50:01Speaker 2: This is his first full season, right, his first All
- 50:03Speaker 2: Star game. He's given him length already, He's almost at
- 50:07Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty innings. He's gonna probably pitch in October.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I'm growing in.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I get who's telling him. I'm just saying, this is
- 50:15Speaker 2: what's being toiled on the other side. So who's telling
- 50:17Speaker 2: him this?
- 50:18Speaker 1: To me?
- 50:18Speaker 4: I don't think young kids, young players make bad decisions.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Who around him is telling him this?
- 50:25Speaker 1: Well, who dictates a lot of this stuff?
- 50:27Speaker 2: Manager slash on office, We have to ask, I mean,
- 50:30Speaker 2: Aaron Boom said, And he's not making stuff up, he
- 50:33Speaker 2: said to the me. I think he even was a
- 50:35Speaker 2: little bit surprised that he wasn't doing He wanted to
- 50:38Speaker 2: make sure he was comfortable with the decision he was
- 50:41Speaker 2: going to make.
- 50:41Speaker 1: But it is what it is.
- 50:44Speaker 5: It is what it is.
- 50:44Speaker 4: But this is a It's still the best all Star game.
- 50:48Speaker 4: I get Pro Bowls not called that, but all the
- 50:51Speaker 4: league's All Star games, this is still the best one.
- 50:54Speaker 4: And I don't want Cam Schlinder because then next year,
- 50:58Speaker 4: who's it gonna be? Chase Burns is I'm just thinking
- 51:02Speaker 4: of who the rookie pitcher is right, like, is it
- 51:06Speaker 4: going to be because he could have thrown this could
- 51:09Speaker 4: have been we had Sale on you heard Sale talking
- 51:11Speaker 4: about it. I remember that I was a player. I
- 51:14Speaker 4: was a fellow player with Chris Sale at the time,
- 51:17Speaker 4: not an All Star, just a fellow player. I remember
- 51:19Speaker 4: watching that game going, whoa, he turned.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Up, Like Chris said, he hasn't fixed in many lately.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Yes, but he's but he's been there. He's also how
- 51:29Speaker 3: old you saw much gray was in his beard?
- 51:31Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 51:32Speaker 2: Even But if you're too young or too so, you
- 51:34Speaker 2: want the young pitchers to do it and appreciate it.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Do you think Paul Skeens pitches in this game? If
- 51:40Speaker 4: he didn't pitch Sender he was named to the All
- 51:44Speaker 4: Star team, do you think he pitches or Paul Skeen's
- 51:46Speaker 4: now checking out too.
- 51:49Speaker 1: I think it's just year by year by case, Yeah,
- 51:51Speaker 1: case by guys.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Some guys really want to pitch, some guys don't.
- 51:54Speaker 4: So then I'm not saying camp Siller doesn't want it,
- 51:57Speaker 4: but he's.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Not better and you don't want to say it like
- 51:58Speaker 2: your arms tags that hurts your free agent case are
- 52:00Speaker 2: and start being like that was going to be my question.
- 52:02Speaker 2: You can't say that any Do you think there's something
- 52:06Speaker 2: to be more to camp slit, well, because you can
- 52:09Speaker 2: take the hit of he doesn't want to pitch. Actually,
- 52:11Speaker 2: that sounds good to teams. What makes you more attractive.
- 52:14Speaker 2: I know he's not thinking about his free agency, but
- 52:16Speaker 2: what I mean. Front offices don't want you to pitch
- 52:18Speaker 2: in anything but your games. That's a fact, and their
- 52:20Speaker 2: job is to win. They don't care about the All
- 52:22Speaker 2: Star Game, they don't care about the WBC, they don't
- 52:24Speaker 2: care about the winner leagues unless it's somebody that's trying
- 52:27Speaker 2: to get themselves back going again. But generally they don't
- 52:29Speaker 2: want any of their guys in the winter leagues either. Right,
- 52:32Speaker 2: I pay you a lot of money to pitch in
- 52:34Speaker 2: my games.
- 52:36Speaker 5: Part of it.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I'm just presenting the other side, obviously want everybody to
- 52:39Speaker 2: pitch in every year. I'm just telling you this is
- 52:41Speaker 2: what happens in our sport. There are front office executives
- 52:45Speaker 2: that get paid millions of dollars to win games and
- 52:48Speaker 2: not care about anything else but winning baseball because winning
- 52:51Speaker 2: baseball drives fans, fans, interest, revenue, everything. It's the whole
- 52:59Speaker 2: complexion of the revolving or your team revolves around winning games.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Sorry, I watched cam Slitller Hitch too many times on
- 53:07Speaker 4: TV in his short career so far. I don't see
- 53:10Speaker 4: him unilaterally making this decision. I'm just fearful that there
- 53:15Speaker 4: are people in the background that will also talk to
- 53:19Speaker 4: the next cam Schlitler talk to the next This isn't
- 53:22Speaker 4: gonna ruin his career. I'm just saying, this is the
- 53:25Speaker 4: marquee event here. I want to see these guys, and
- 53:29Speaker 4: I hope they are not people in the background telling
- 53:32Speaker 4: the next cam Slitler take it easy, bro, Well let's see.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Let's give it a two three more years.
- 53:39Speaker 2: If he's dominating like this every year and he's not pitching,
- 53:42Speaker 2: then we're like, all right, then.
- 53:43Speaker 4: It permeates the hole league, Like why am I going
- 53:46Speaker 4: to rock Jojowski? Mit Mitchwasowski? He makes it tee.
- 53:52Speaker 1: You guys are players. Do you think that's how it
- 53:53Speaker 1: would be? You're all gonna copy somebody like that? You
- 53:57Speaker 1: guys those pitchers? Is that how it works?
- 54:00Speaker 2: They see some other guy do it, and also like
- 54:02Speaker 2: that's what you want to copy. That's like the kid
- 54:04Speaker 2: that skips class every day, Like oh, like he doesn't
- 54:08Speaker 2: go to class ever, was.
- 54:11Speaker 4: I can see I can see kids copying things. I
- 54:13Speaker 4: don't think kids should copy. But again, I don't think
- 54:16Speaker 4: kids are any different nowadays than they were when we
- 54:19Speaker 4: were kids. It's the people around them that's it. People
- 54:23Speaker 4: will always be like, oh my, my football coach, he
- 54:26Speaker 4: would have never allowed that, having on my football team. Yeah,
- 54:29Speaker 4: but you were still such an idiot like you would
- 54:31Speaker 4: do things. It's the people around them, and that's what
- 54:33Speaker 4: I'm afraid of because the NBA has just they've lost
- 54:37Speaker 4: control of the road men. They've lost control of it,
- 54:41Speaker 4: and I don't want to see that. Here is this
- 54:44Speaker 4: a gateway drug to the load load management? He's not
- 54:47Speaker 4: the first guy that's done this, not he's not, But
- 54:51Speaker 4: he's the most one of them.
- 54:52Speaker 9: That happens every year. What's it that happens every year?
- 54:55Speaker 9: But he's this is what he should be young. Come on,
- 55:02Speaker 9: Schider picked his own guy.
- 55:03Speaker 1: And you know I'm not on Schneider. I'm saying should this?
- 55:06Speaker 2: I mean, I know he's the manager who gets to
- 55:08Speaker 2: pick your pitching order, but like, should we should someone
- 55:10Speaker 2: else get to pick the starters, like the fans or something?
- 55:14Speaker 1: For the starting Well, they picked the other starters.
- 55:15Speaker 3: Everyone pitching.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Yeah, Andrew, listen, Shosh Scheider gets a reward the guy
- 55:20Speaker 4: who's having a great year on his own teeth.
- 55:22Speaker 3: This is how it happens. Ham like this for every
- 55:24Speaker 3: single game in history.
- 55:27Speaker 5: You like it.
- 55:28Speaker 3: It's your team to.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Because they were in Philadelphia. Could you make an argument
- 55:35Speaker 4: for someone else's start well nationally, Well, Miss.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Isn't pitching, so yeah, I should be Miss.
- 55:40Speaker 1: No.
- 55:40Speaker 3: I think I think it should be Chris Sale.
- 55:43Speaker 4: I think Chris Sale would have been a cool pick
- 55:45Speaker 4: because it's his tenth and he's doing legit. I think
- 55:50Speaker 4: it's a I think I think they got it right
- 55:53Speaker 4: on both faces. But if Cam was still in it,
- 55:57Speaker 4: I think it would be awesome.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Right, it's Camera ceas it. He's got a better first half.
- 56:04Speaker 1: It's just it is what it is.
- 56:06Speaker 5: Right.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Cease wanted it, though, hey sees is actually the opposite
- 56:09Speaker 1: of that. He wants to pitch.
- 56:10Speaker 10: He always wants the ball, he always wants the way,
- 56:12Speaker 10: and he always takes the ball too. He was on
- 56:14Speaker 10: il for the hamstring, That's why he took it. That's
- 56:17Speaker 10: why he had a big contract. Because people want to
- 56:19Speaker 10: slice and dice everything in the off season. Sometimes it's
- 56:22Speaker 10: also like Hey, does he post? Oh he does, Okay,
- 56:26Speaker 10: that's good.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Casuals don't understand what it means to post, because if
- 56:31Speaker 2: he doesn't post, you know who posts instead of him,
- 56:34Speaker 2: the six seven, eight, nine tenth starter whoever it is,
- 56:37Speaker 2: number to tell you about the difference between the tenth
- 56:40Speaker 2: starter that the Blue Jays have and Dylan sees.
- 56:45Speaker 1: That's what it's about.
- 56:46Speaker 4: Yes, that's why you pay for it, and that's why
- 56:50Speaker 4: those guys get rewarded. Well, there's also no there's also
- 56:54Speaker 4: no facility where a kid can go to learn how
- 56:57Speaker 4: to show up and make their bodies healthy every single day.
- 57:01Speaker 4: Every pitching facility in the world for kids is about
- 57:05Speaker 4: how hard do you throw?
- 57:06Speaker 3: You have to throw hard. Dylan Cees has figured out
- 57:10Speaker 3: how to stay healthy and be on the field, besides
- 57:13Speaker 3: a hamstring john that he had this year first time
- 57:16Speaker 3: on the IL.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Thanks everyone for watching the first couple hours here of ft. Also,
