- 1:16Speaker 1: of the late grade back Buck, I don't believe what
- 1:18Speaker 1: I just saw yesterday. And you probably could have said
- 1:21Speaker 1: that five different times, a bunch of different and Saturday
- 1:25Speaker 1: and Saturday, with two great days of football. We're happy
- 1:27Speaker 1: you're here with us. Happy holidays to you a Monday
- 1:29Speaker 1: edition of NFL Now on NFL Network, andrews Ceciliano, Steve White,
- 1:33Speaker 1: Brian Baldinger. I always joked that we overreact on Mondays.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I mean that's sort of a cliche in our business.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't know how you overreact. Can the the dramatic
- 1:43Speaker 1: finishes to these games that you can't script any And
- 1:45Speaker 1: we always say that, but you can't even like like
- 1:48Speaker 1: you can't even play it out, like you know, you
- 1:51Speaker 1: always sad you talk about like football intelligence, like these
- 1:54Speaker 1: things happen like you can't ever even practice some of these.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I mean just every game from like you know, the
- 1:58Speaker 1: punch out of Drake London and the Saine Balcon's game
- 2:00Speaker 1: to the to the finish of that Raiders Patriots. I'm
- 2:03Speaker 1: calling it a Patriots loss. Um just bananas. Great. We
- 2:07Speaker 1: get a football sets the table for the final three weeks,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and in weeks sixteen, we now have clinching scenarios for
- 2:12Speaker 1: the Giants, the Bengals, the Ravens and the Chargers. Will
- 2:14Speaker 1: try to get them to you on your screen. Of
- 2:16Speaker 1: this next hour roll the highlight of the Cowboys tags.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It was fun. The Cowboys led seventeen nil, but with
- 2:25Speaker 1: ten seconds to Revor Lawrence. HiT's Za Jones the Jaguars
- 2:31Speaker 1: getting the time out. They were given the time out,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and then Riley Patterson sends the game to overtime. By
- 2:39Speaker 1: the way, Zay Jones, Dad, Robert Jones, three rings, bad Cowboys.
- 2:44Speaker 1: He killed his old man's team yesterday. And then Rashawn
- 2:48Speaker 1: Jenkins at the dagger his second pick of the day.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It's a pick six in overtime. He also had eighteen tackles.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Fair not the Cowboys still made the playoffs because Washington lost,
- 2:59Speaker 1: But whatever, yea Jaguars, Hey, we gotta get one ready
- 3:05Speaker 1: on the three. Listen. We said it before the game,
- 3:12Speaker 1: the talco was over right. But we talked last night
- 3:14Speaker 1: about just being a fifteen round heavy rate going total
- 3:17Speaker 1: toe fight. We talked about playing for four quarters. We
- 3:20Speaker 1: talked about being physical. We talked about all three phases,
- 3:23Speaker 1: making the back at all three phases. Made an impact today, Office, defensive,
- 3:27Speaker 1: special teams, no bigger though. Okay, hey, proud of every
- 3:35Speaker 1: every single morning. Great job, man, great job. Let's bring
- 3:38Speaker 1: it up. Like you said around ago, we got another
- 3:43Speaker 1: big one Thursday. Just with a crazy weekend and perspective,
- 3:51Speaker 1: you could go back to the Vikings thirty three point comeback.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We had three teams rallied from down seventeen in the
- 3:57Speaker 1: same week to win. That's never happened effort. The Jaguars
- 4:00Speaker 1: are one of them, and they right now are in
- 4:03Speaker 1: a situation where they went out, they win the a
- 4:06Speaker 1: f C South, they get the Titans Week eight team,
- 4:08Speaker 1: you have the Patriots and the Jets there at seven
- 4:11Speaker 1: and seven, and then you have a six and eight,
- 4:13Speaker 1: as I like to call it, mosh pit of mediocrity. Okay,
- 4:18Speaker 1: fighting for a f C wild card positioning Mark Ross
- 4:21Speaker 1: into this conversation as well, High high Mark. But calling
- 4:23Speaker 1: the Jaguars mediocre I don't think is doing them justice
- 4:26Speaker 1: because the way they've played football of late, the way
- 4:29Speaker 1: they beat the Titans last week, setting up Week eighteen,
- 4:32Speaker 1: the way they handled the Cowboys yesterday. I wouldn't want
- 4:35Speaker 1: to play Doug Peterson's team right now. No, not at all.
- 4:38Speaker 1: They're kind of the Detroit of the a f C,
- 4:41Speaker 1: who Detroit beat them a couple of weeks ago. So
- 4:44Speaker 1: they've got the elements of explosiveness that you saw yesterday
- 4:47Speaker 1: in that offense, and that's attributed to Look, we got
- 4:51Speaker 1: a great head coach, the Super Bowl winning head coach
- 4:53Speaker 1: who has brought stability and confidence and innovation to this offense.
- 4:57Speaker 1: And right there, they've got the number one pick in
- 5:00Speaker 1: the draft a couple of years ago, and Trevor Lawrence,
- 5:02Speaker 1: who Doug Peterson has now come in and given this
- 5:05Speaker 1: young man confidence to flourish and grow. And you literally
- 5:09Speaker 1: see Trevor Lawrence getting better every week and expanding on
- 5:13Speaker 1: his game and becoming more and more of a playmaker.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And you saw that yesterday the big time plays he made. Yes,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you make the layups, you make the easy Eavy throws,
- 5:23Speaker 1: but what it was really crucial times in the game
- 5:26Speaker 1: where he stepped up and made a play, even the
- 5:27Speaker 1: play where he fumbled the sack that he got out
- 5:30Speaker 1: of and then he's fumbled just trying to do too much.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But you know what, Jacksonville came right back. They kept
- 5:36Speaker 1: at it, defense got stops and that Rashan Jackets stat line.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And I don't think there could be anyone like that
- 5:41Speaker 1: in history with two interceptions and eight teen tackles. But
- 5:44Speaker 1: that just goes to the mentality. When you start winning,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you start believing in each other. Everybody steps it up
- 5:50Speaker 1: and has their a game, and when you look at
- 5:52Speaker 1: the Jaguars, I think they're gonna win the South. They
- 5:54Speaker 1: got Jets, Titans, and then they Jets Houston and the
- 5:58Speaker 1: Titans that finished the season. I think they're gonna pull
- 6:00Speaker 1: it out here, guys. You know, Mark, one of the
- 6:02Speaker 1: things that kind of gets lost in being down and
- 6:06Speaker 1: Trevor Throne a touchdown passes and all that. I thought
- 6:09Speaker 1: Jacksonville was more physical than Dallas start to finish in
- 6:12Speaker 1: this game. You watch what Brandon Sheriff's doing on the
- 6:15Speaker 1: on the move cam, Robinson, Travis et m the way
- 6:18Speaker 1: that he ran the ball, and look, I said going
- 6:21Speaker 1: into this game that the Jacksonville Jaguars had gone six
- 6:25Speaker 1: games without giving up a single sack to Trevor Lawrence,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and people said, oh, it will change against the Cowboys. Well,
- 6:31Speaker 1: Mike got a sack, but they really didn't affect the
- 6:33Speaker 1: quarterback with that offensive line protecting Trevor Lawrence and his
- 6:37Speaker 1: ability to move and and just really extend plays without
- 6:41Speaker 1: really overdoing it by any stretch. And so I thought
- 6:45Speaker 1: physically they outplayed the Cowboys. And we have seen that
- 6:48Speaker 1: that has been a problem for the Cowboys and other games.
- 6:50Speaker 1: The Eagles, the Green Bay game where teams were able
- 6:53Speaker 1: to run the ball against them, and it's something that
- 6:56Speaker 1: might travel with this team as they get ready for
- 6:58Speaker 1: the playoffs. But I thought the kidding components, Steve was
- 7:02Speaker 1: how physical Jacksonville was at the at really the point
- 7:05Speaker 1: of attack. Yeah, on both lines to scrimmage. But I
- 7:07Speaker 1: want to flip it over to the Cowboys because they're
- 7:10Speaker 1: in right, they've clinched that playoff spot. But they've better
- 7:13Speaker 1: be careful because right now they're in a situation where
- 7:16Speaker 1: you know, they would play Tampa, right, they would probably
- 7:18Speaker 1: be Tampa or whoever the NFC South Rappist. But they
- 7:20Speaker 1: gotta be careful because if they continue, uh to not
- 7:24Speaker 1: play well, like here's a bad interception by Dak his
- 7:27Speaker 1: seventh and four games, they could slide down end up
- 7:30Speaker 1: having to go to San Francisco in the first round.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And nobody wants a piece of correct and repeat from
- 7:36Speaker 1: last year. Dallas does not want to have that. I mean, look,
- 7:40Speaker 1: they're not playing horrible football, but you know, researchers told me,
- 7:44Speaker 1: like they let teams hang around, you can't finish. They
- 7:47Speaker 1: can't finish, and that is a dangerous thing when you're
- 7:50Speaker 1: going into the playoffs because the teams that can finish
- 7:53Speaker 1: that win these ball games. So Dallas has got to
- 7:55Speaker 1: be careful Dac again, that last interception wasn't on him,
- 7:58Speaker 1: that was on Noah Brown. It's got to be more
- 7:59Speaker 1: protective of the ball. But they've got to get back
- 8:02Speaker 1: to how they were playing, and that's physically on both
- 8:04Speaker 1: line into scrimmage seeing how they're playing down the stretch
- 8:07Speaker 1: because they got three games fight, three games against teams
- 8:10Speaker 1: fighting for their playoff lives. They're coming for Dallas. You
- 8:13Speaker 1: mentioned a couple of things here. Both you do that.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I that I wanted to wrap up number one. The
- 8:17Speaker 1: Eagles can lock up the one seed in home field
- 8:20Speaker 1: by beating the Cowboys this week. At that point, the
- 8:23Speaker 1: Cowboys end. Look, the Cowboys at this point are not
- 8:25Speaker 1: going to win the division. I think we all know
- 8:26Speaker 1: of that. But the Eagles can wrap up the one seed.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And as for Cam Robinson, who you singled out for
- 8:31Speaker 1: playing well at left tackle, Doug Peterson says, meniscus done
- 8:34Speaker 1: for the years. Cam Robinson now won't be back for
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Jacksonville Jaguars, But if they went out, even if
- 8:41Speaker 1: they don't win out, they now are in position with
- 8:43Speaker 1: the Titans week eight teen on their schedule, having beaten
- 8:46Speaker 1: them last week to win the a f C South.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark, Steve Baldy. We appreciate it. Um what
- 8:52Speaker 1: if I told you the Colts can also technically mathematically
- 8:57Speaker 1: win the a f C South. Strange but true. I
- 9:00Speaker 1: and wrap afore Tom Pellicero with me. Tom obviously was
- 9:03Speaker 1: at that thirty three point by the Colts on Saturday,
- 9:06Speaker 1: which is all live on NFL Network. The Colts ian
- 9:08Speaker 1: continue forward, however, without Jonathan Taylor. Yeah, it does not
- 9:14Speaker 1: soundate the coach are gonna have the services of their
- 9:16Speaker 1: best running back and maybe their best player regardless of position.
- 9:19Speaker 1: With all due respect to Shack Leonard and a couple others.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor, one of the best running backs in the NFL,
- 9:25Speaker 1: unlikely to play again this season, dealing with a high
- 9:28Speaker 1: ankle sprain. Still meeting with some doctors and having some
- 9:31Speaker 1: conversations with Colts officials, but it just does not make
- 9:33Speaker 1: a lot of sense to play him going forward. Andrew,
- 9:36Speaker 1: it is an injury that generally takes four to six
- 9:39Speaker 1: weeks of recovery. We don't have that much time in
- 9:41Speaker 1: the season. Plus, despite what you keep saying about mathematically whatever.
- 9:45Speaker 1: We've also watched the Coats the last I don't know
- 9:47Speaker 1: a month or so. Uh, does not seem likely that
- 9:49Speaker 1: they're gonna win this division in any sort of form
- 9:52Speaker 1: or fashion. So having Jonathan Taylor come back just does
- 9:55Speaker 1: not make a lot of sense. Heal up, get those
- 9:58Speaker 1: ankles better, come back for a really strong season. Okay,
- 10:03Speaker 1: the question remains, however, when we're talking about ankles, Um,
- 10:07Speaker 1: Tom Ryan Tannehill, sorry, trying to make a transition or
- 10:11Speaker 1: in my Ryan Tannehill his ankle. He was carted off
- 10:14Speaker 1: yesterday first quarter, came back, gutted it out, but he
- 10:17Speaker 1: was not moving. Well, what's his status, Landy. Ryan Tannehill
- 10:22Speaker 1: has really been dealing with ankle injuries for a couple
- 10:24Speaker 1: of months now, has been able to gut it out,
- 10:26Speaker 1: as you said, through a lot of it. He's one
- 10:29Speaker 1: of the toughest players in the NFL. But Mike Vrabel
- 10:32Speaker 1: alluded to it today saying, if Tannehill can be out there,
- 10:35Speaker 1: then he's going to play this week against the Texans.
- 10:38Speaker 1: My understanding is this looks like an uphill battle even
- 10:41Speaker 1: for one of the toughest players around. Who's gonna gut
- 10:44Speaker 1: it out through basically any injury that he comes across here.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So it's quite possible we will see Malik Willis again.
- 10:50Speaker 1: He got his first NFL start back in late October
- 10:53Speaker 1: in a game against the Texans because Tannehill had both
- 10:56Speaker 1: an ankle at that time and an illness now a
- 10:58Speaker 1: couple of months later. It could be Willis again on
- 11:01Speaker 1: Saturday against that same Texans team. Okay, so Malik Willis
- 11:04Speaker 1: potent again against the Texans. The Titans still do lead
- 11:09Speaker 1: the division and they can still win this thing. It
- 11:11Speaker 1: is right there for the taking. But potentially with Malik
- 11:14Speaker 1: Willis and a couple of weeks ago, I think we
- 11:16Speaker 1: all um threw it out there that it would be
- 11:19Speaker 1: fun if we move the trade deadline back. You touched
- 11:23Speaker 1: on this Sunday morning. Is that going to happen? Yeah?
- 11:27Speaker 1: I mean Palasero post an article on NFL dot com
- 11:30Speaker 1: about the growing momentum toward moving the trade deadline back
- 11:34Speaker 1: one or maybe two weeks. It's been after Week eight
- 11:37Speaker 1: for about a decade now, and we had more activity
- 11:41Speaker 1: this trade deadline than we have ever had. Almost had
- 11:43Speaker 1: a heart attack dealing with it. I know Tom did
- 11:45Speaker 1: as well. So the NFL saw that and say, you
- 11:47Speaker 1: know what, maybe we want more. And it's not just
- 11:49Speaker 1: that they want more trades, although I think everybody likes
- 11:52Speaker 1: trades it's a lot of fun. It's also that you
- 11:54Speaker 1: have a better idea tom of who is good, who isn't,
- 11:57Speaker 1: who should be buyers, who should be sellers. A little
- 12:01Speaker 1: bit into the future, maybe teams are a little more
- 12:03Speaker 1: well defined, leading to some more trades. It's not going
- 12:06Speaker 1: to pass that the owner's meaning, either in March or
- 12:09Speaker 1: in May, but surely there is momentum towards that. And Ian,
- 12:12Speaker 1: this is something where we don't entirely know where the
- 12:14Speaker 1: Competition Committee is going to fall in terms whether or
- 12:17Speaker 1: not they recommend recommend this to the owners. The concern,
- 12:20Speaker 1: as you said, yes, extra time gives teams more of
- 12:24Speaker 1: an opportunity to figure out whether they should be buyers
- 12:26Speaker 1: or sellers. But then the problem is if you get
- 12:28Speaker 1: too deep into the season, then all of a sudden
- 12:30Speaker 1: you could have teams dumping players two contenders, which would
- 12:33Speaker 1: then impact the competitive balance. So everyone's gonna want to
- 12:37Speaker 1: see the data on this. It would require a vote
- 12:40Speaker 1: by twenty four of thirty two owners. One source who
- 12:42Speaker 1: was involved in those discussions, Andrew told me one week
- 12:45Speaker 1: seems to have support in terms of pushing it back
- 12:48Speaker 1: just from week eight, Week nine, that would fall right
- 12:51Speaker 1: at the midpoint of the seventeen game eighteen week season.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And nobody wants to make it fantasy football here, but
- 12:56Speaker 1: you would like to see a little more time potentially,
- 12:58Speaker 1: just to pull back the curtain and how the show
- 13:00Speaker 1: is made. We had Tom on camera, he was looking down.
- 13:02Speaker 1: He was tweeting that toa is the leading vote getter
- 13:06Speaker 1: for the Pro Bowl that's now been wrapped up. But
- 13:08Speaker 1: but also I had voices in my head earlier. Jeff
- 13:11Speaker 1: Colette loves talking about haircuts. Ian. He was imploring me
- 13:15Speaker 1: to ask, did you just get a haircut maybe between
- 13:18Speaker 1: the first hour and the second hour of the show. Uh,
- 13:22Speaker 1: did not get a haircut between the first hour and
- 13:24Speaker 1: second hour. Did get a haircut after TV on Saturday.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It was on t around ten thirty Eastern haircut around
- 13:32Speaker 1: twelve thirty. Back at the house to watch football about
- 13:35Speaker 1: unch of teen and it by that point everyone knew
- 13:38Speaker 1: the culture running away, that they were up about seventeen
- 13:40Speaker 1: points by then. I don't know what happened. Yeah, I
- 13:42Speaker 1: literally went on a run and came back and said,
- 13:43Speaker 1: excuse me, what happened? Um? And if you had gotten
- 13:46Speaker 1: a haircut between hours here on this show, well done.
- 13:48Speaker 1: If that had happened, I didn't know you had to
- 13:50Speaker 1: flow be at home. If those things all right, everybody,
- 13:59Speaker 1: let's get to this one. Titans Chargers good one playoff team.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Possibly here Ryan Tannehill got part of off. He eventually
- 14:05Speaker 1: came back. Let's go fourth quarter, final minute. This is
- 14:09Speaker 1: Ryan Tannehill snaking it in and Brandon Stay have called
- 14:14Speaker 1: the time out. It's baldy to give justin Herbert time.
- 14:17Speaker 1: You've got forty four seconds. He makes just throw here
- 14:19Speaker 1: to Michael Williams down, I mean, just a great sick.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Mike Williams called for the ball, like put it up
- 14:25Speaker 1: here and just like like that's Suell covered right there
- 14:29Speaker 1: by Greg Nman. But the throw, the catch, it sets
- 14:31Speaker 1: up this game winning field goal right by Cameron Dicker,
- 14:34Speaker 1: who started camp with the Rams, then went to the Ravens,
- 14:38Speaker 1: then went to the Eagles. One game for the Eagles
- 14:40Speaker 1: when Jake Elliott was out, and now wins this one
- 14:43Speaker 1: another one. He's Dicker the kickers. He is for the Chargers,
- 14:47Speaker 1: who are right back in the thick of things. They
- 14:49Speaker 1: were the sixth seed because they beat the Dolphins last
- 14:51Speaker 1: Sunday night, so they have that tie breaker. And the
- 14:53Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans are reeling, reeling. They were seven and two
- 14:58Speaker 1: and they are barely hanging on now in the a
- 15:02Speaker 1: f C. South, barely hanging on. Baldy called that game.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Justin Herbert was masterful on that final drive after Staley
- 15:10Speaker 1: burnt his time out. Smart move to make sure he
- 15:13Speaker 1: had time left, and he look forty four seconds no timeouts.
- 15:16Speaker 1: He didn't need anything else. I mean, he he took
- 15:18Speaker 1: control of the game, made the big throw to Michael Williams.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I've been waiting for that game, that throw to Michael
- 15:23Speaker 1: Williams all game long. He made it. They couldn't had
- 15:25Speaker 1: trouble getting the ball down the field. Uh, they got
- 15:27Speaker 1: one to Keenan Allen and set up the score. I
- 15:30Speaker 1: just thought, Justin Herbert and all of his competent of
- 15:33Speaker 1: receivers right now, no matter what the offensive line is,
- 15:36Speaker 1: how poorly they can run the ball at times, you
- 15:39Speaker 1: put the ball in his hands, good things are gonna happen. Yeah. Look,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you talk about the competent of receivers. Let's not forget
- 15:44Speaker 1: the compliment of that running back Austin Ekeler, that touchdown
- 15:47Speaker 1: he scored on that drive for them to take the lead. Okay,
- 15:50Speaker 1: three yard run where he's powered over guys, but the
- 15:52Speaker 1: run before that, to me set the energy tone for
- 15:55Speaker 1: what the Charges were doing because he carried about four
- 15:58Speaker 1: guys with him for six or seven yards like this
- 16:01Speaker 1: is the guy. He cannot lay it out like this
- 16:03Speaker 1: and we cannot finish the job if he's gonna continue
- 16:05Speaker 1: to do this. Of course, Tennessee scores, but that final drive,
- 16:09Speaker 1: justin Herbert at this time of the season coming into
- 16:11Speaker 1: his own and their schedule looks light on paper. If
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Chargers can close it out, they're getting into playoffs.
- 16:18Speaker 1: So the Chargers now go at Indy, they get the
- 16:20Speaker 1: Rams at home, I mean a home game for both,
- 16:22Speaker 1: and then at Denver to close it In week eight
- 16:25Speaker 1: team the Titans, I said were seven and two, they
- 16:28Speaker 1: were seven and three three they've now lost four in
- 16:30Speaker 1: a row. First time under. They get Houston, who's given
- 16:34Speaker 1: the Cowboys in Chiefs trouble the last couple of weeks.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Then they get Dallas and then on the road to Jacksonville.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I firmly believe if I had to put money on
- 16:42Speaker 1: it right now, the Sunday Night week A teen NBC
- 16:45Speaker 1: game is Tennessee Jacksonville. The loser may not be the
- 16:49Speaker 1: wild card, it's I think it's gonna be a f
- 16:51Speaker 1: C South or bust. Yeah, well it could be, especially
- 16:54Speaker 1: the Charger keep playing the way they're playing and they
- 16:56Speaker 1: know what's gonna happen with the Dolphins. Um so yeah,
- 16:59Speaker 1: that that could be when that division or bust because
- 17:01Speaker 1: one a f C North team. I think it's still
- 17:03Speaker 1: going to be a wild card raven or Bengals, and
- 17:05Speaker 1: that could be Sunday Night. We teams too early to
- 17:07Speaker 1: start guessing, but you have to think both the Ravens
- 17:09Speaker 1: and Bengals make it. I can't see both Tennessee and
- 17:12Speaker 1: Jacksonville making it each and when they played each other,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and the way the Tennessee is playing right now. I mean,
- 17:19Speaker 1: Mike Veryble after every game, he's just like, we're just
- 17:21Speaker 1: you know, we can't block anybody. We're just not sympatical.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Has a look fust. I mean on the third play
- 17:27Speaker 1: of the game, I didn't think he was gonna come
- 17:29Speaker 1: back anything. That angle was rolled up. That is a
- 17:33Speaker 1: key one to follow this week because Ryan Tannhill came
- 17:35Speaker 1: back in. They did what they had to do to
- 17:37Speaker 1: get him back on the field. He toughed it out,
- 17:38Speaker 1: but he was not moving well at the end. That's
- 17:41Speaker 1: an injury to follow here during the week heading in
- 17:44Speaker 1: to week sixteen is the Titans try to write the
- 17:47Speaker 1: ship here at Christmas. How long did it take us?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Sixty minutes? Okay, I'm just telling we met talking about
- 18:01Speaker 1: sixty minutes all year long. I don't know that this
- 18:03Speaker 1: was the most disciplined the effort we've had, but I
- 18:06Speaker 1: know this. Nobody can argue with how how how much
- 18:09Speaker 1: we fight. There's no way you can argue with the
- 18:12Speaker 1: effort and the character and the people in this locker room. Okay,
- 18:15Speaker 1: and that's why we want all right, where's channel Joe? Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 1: we we just keep fighting, right, don't worry about everybody else.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Don't look at the other scores and all that nonsense.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Somebody will tell us what it's time to be done. Okay.
- 18:32Speaker 1: All we gotta do is control our business. Okay, there
- 18:35Speaker 1: we go, There we go. Let we go. Hey, Raiders,
- 18:39Speaker 1: did you hear the echo? How about the spacious locker
- 18:42Speaker 1: room there that the Raiders have a vegas. The acoustics. Wow,
- 18:44Speaker 1: all right, So the Raiders are six to eight, they're
- 18:46Speaker 1: they're in a mosh pit there at six and eight,
- 18:48Speaker 1: But the Patriots fall out at seven and seven. They
- 18:51Speaker 1: fall out of a playoff spot, one that they had
- 18:53Speaker 1: re entered with their win Monday night in Arizona. There
- 18:57Speaker 1: are two very different sides of this thing here, Mark
- 18:59Speaker 1: Ross and Mike Giardi. Micha, let's do the Patriot side
- 19:02Speaker 1: of things here. First, they gave up two tons downs
- 19:05Speaker 1: in the final thirty two seconds, and there was no
- 19:08Speaker 1: on side kick in between those two touchdowns. You never
- 19:13Speaker 1: ever see that. They have now lost three out of
- 19:16Speaker 1: four and things seem to be falling apart. Yeah, and
- 19:21Speaker 1: this was a team that lost four out of five
- 19:22Speaker 1: down the stretch last year after assuming the number one
- 19:25Speaker 1: seed in the a f C in December. So it's
- 19:28Speaker 1: a pattern now for the last few years, for sure.
- 19:30Speaker 1: One of the things that I've sort of been focusing
- 19:32Speaker 1: on here is Mac Jones and the development or lack
- 19:35Speaker 1: thereof of the quarterback. And I think it's fair to
- 19:38Speaker 1: ask now at this point in the year, if in
- 19:40Speaker 1: fact the Patriots have a quarterback in the future or
- 19:43Speaker 1: if this is something that they need to address in
- 19:45Speaker 1: the off season. And no way in heck that I
- 19:48Speaker 1: think I would be saying that after last year when
- 19:50Speaker 1: I thought he was pretty good as a rookie, but
- 19:52Speaker 1: this year it has been a step back. And there's
- 19:54Speaker 1: a number of reasons we addressed him in the first hour,
- 19:56Speaker 1: from the coaching decisions on down. But now you have
- 19:59Speaker 1: a quarterback thirteen of thirty one yesterday against the Raider
- 20:03Speaker 1: defense that's not very good. Now you can say to me,
- 20:05Speaker 1: his weapons on the outside aren't very good either. You
- 20:08Speaker 1: can say his tight ends have underperformed. But bottom line
- 20:11Speaker 1: is they're not getting improvement here. And when you look
- 20:13Speaker 1: at the Patriots blueprint and you kind of compared to
- 20:16Speaker 1: what's happened around the league this year, just look at
- 20:18Speaker 1: Doug Peterson with Trevor Lawrence, there's been a big leap. Now, look,
- 20:21Speaker 1: they went from urban Meyers, so that's a big change.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But um, what Matt Eberflus has done with justin fields
- 20:26Speaker 1: and that offense Luke Getzi, he's taken a leap. And
- 20:29Speaker 1: here the quarterback that was by far and away the
- 20:31Speaker 1: best rookie last year has gone in the other direction
- 20:34Speaker 1: and you've seen emotional outputs, which, by the way, I
- 20:37Speaker 1: don't mind, but some people have talked about it. Is
- 20:39Speaker 1: he being disrespectful of the coaching staff. I think everything
- 20:43Speaker 1: is on the table at this point. I'd be pretty
- 20:45Speaker 1: disappointed with what's being called for me. But I just think, Mark,
- 20:47Speaker 1: there's so much uncertainty now when I think they went
- 20:50Speaker 1: into this year feeling really good about where they were
- 20:53Speaker 1: in that quarterback position. Yeah, and you mentioned his is
- 20:56Speaker 1: really Mac Jones has fallen kind of falling partner, and
- 20:59Speaker 1: that goes to me with the coaching. As you said before,
- 21:03Speaker 1: this is not the same patreets that we know and love.
- 21:06Speaker 1: We keep getting a past every week for it's the Patriots,
- 21:09Speaker 1: it's Belichick. They'll be fine. It's the Patriots, it's Belichick,
- 21:12Speaker 1: They'll be fine. And each week they go out and
- 21:14Speaker 1: put out performances like yesterday where they struggle on offense,
- 21:18Speaker 1: where they make bad decisions in coaching, and nothing was
- 21:21Speaker 1: more indicative than that last play where yes, Jacoby Byers
- 21:25Speaker 1: rightly rightfully so should get a lot of grief, But
- 21:27Speaker 1: who actually called the play to make that draw play?
- 21:30Speaker 1: And did were they coached up to not ladder of
- 21:32Speaker 1: the ball. That all has to go back to that
- 21:35Speaker 1: and where that starts from the head coach, from the
- 21:37Speaker 1: offensive coordinator, from the position coach who actually said let's
- 21:41Speaker 1: do this, and was that coached into them? So if
- 21:44Speaker 1: it was, someone else has to really take responsibility to say,
- 21:47Speaker 1: you know what, that was a bad decision on our part.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And when you look at his Patriots team, I don't
- 21:51Speaker 1: think mac Jones is a guy. But again the coaching.
- 21:54Speaker 1: But then not a ton of talent either, and that
- 21:56Speaker 1: goes back to Belichick. He's a de facto GM. They're
- 21:59Speaker 1: not a lot of talent, not well coached team, don't
- 22:02Speaker 1: have the franchise quarterback Cincinnati, My Ami Buffalo coming up
- 22:07Speaker 1: might get bad there in New England. Andrew, Well, that
- 22:10Speaker 1: call if you're not gonna try the circus player, the
- 22:13Speaker 1: hail Mary, if you're just gonna run, you're conceiting. You're
- 22:15Speaker 1: conceding overtime. So if you're gonna run, just take a knee,
- 22:18Speaker 1: because if you don't, then you're setting up go ahead, Mike,
- 22:21Speaker 1: you're setting up a miracle in the Meadowlands situation. Well,
- 22:23Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, Belichick when asked about it
- 22:25Speaker 1: in the post game, said, we couldn't throw the hail Mary.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Now that's a sixty five yard throw. I've seen Mac
- 22:32Speaker 1: Jones throw the ball that far. So now is he
- 22:34Speaker 1: saying that the offensive line couldn't protect That might be fair,
- 22:37Speaker 1: But to say that your quarterback can't throw a sixty
- 22:39Speaker 1: sixty five yards I don't believe it. Then that could
- 22:42Speaker 1: be or something. They're gonna be talking about that one
- 22:47Speaker 1: for years and years and years, maybe even fifty years.
- 22:51Speaker 1: What a perfect segue. Raiders Steelers fifty year anniversary of
- 22:58Speaker 1: historic craziness, and we're gonna bring you that anniversary in
- 23:02Speaker 1: Christmas Eve. It's a holiday classic live ONFL Network in Pittsburgh,
- 23:06Speaker 1: the Raiders and the Steelers bring your eggnog, sing your songs,
- 23:12Speaker 1: Saturday evening on NFL Network. Coming up next, it is
- 23:16Speaker 1: cold and green Bay. We will prove it to you.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Had a Baker Mayfield and the Packers coming up next.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I hope wherever you're watching this show right now, you're
- 23:29Speaker 1: warm and toasty and safe. Tonight at lambeau Field decked
- 23:33Speaker 1: out for the holidays, It's gonna be roughly sixteen degrees
- 23:38Speaker 1: at kickoff for the Packers and the Rams wrapping up
- 23:43Speaker 1: Week fifteen. Caleb Burton braving the elements for with Us
- 23:46Speaker 1: with Us Live Now on NFL. Now, I would have
- 23:49Speaker 1: to think the cold helps the Packers, Kayla Hey Andrew
- 23:54Speaker 1: Way to rub it in everyone nice and cozy. Yes,
- 23:57Speaker 1: it is cold out here. It's about sixteen degrees, kind
- 24:00Speaker 1: of feeling like it's ten degrees. But this is what
- 24:03Speaker 1: they love. The Packers love of this type of atmosphere.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers even said it himself earlier this week
- 24:09Speaker 1: when he was asked what it's like playing in these
- 24:11Speaker 1: types of conditions, he says he loves it simply because
- 24:14Speaker 1: he and his teammates know how to navigate on the field.
- 24:16Speaker 1: The turf is on, excuse me, the tart is on
- 24:19Speaker 1: right now. That will come off roughly two hours before.
- 24:21Speaker 1: But they have the advantage their four no against the Rams,
- 24:24Speaker 1: one playing at home, and I will say this, they
- 24:28Speaker 1: are going to take advantage considering that Aaron Rodgers has
- 24:30Speaker 1: a lot of offensive weapons. They're coming off the bye week.
- 24:33Speaker 1: They're five and eight, But Ram side coach On McVay
- 24:36Speaker 1: says that is not an indication of what this team
- 24:38Speaker 1: is about. He says, Rogers is going to be Rogers
- 24:41Speaker 1: one of those weapons. Though Sammy Watkins has been released,
- 24:44Speaker 1: he will head to waivers. And that's also partially because
- 24:47Speaker 1: Romeo Dobbs is expected to be back in the picture
- 24:50Speaker 1: here tonight. We have not seen him since Week nine
- 24:52Speaker 1: with that ankle injury. And I will also add that
- 24:54Speaker 1: I spoke with running back A J. Dylan asked him
- 24:56Speaker 1: what it's like playing with Aaron Rodgers, especially as they're
- 24:59Speaker 1: winding down the regular season and have to win out,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and he says, Calin, when I am on the sidelines,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I'm watching this guy dissect the defenses and making sure
- 25:08Speaker 1: that we're able to adjust even in the slightest bit.
- 25:11Speaker 1: That's what leads us to touchdowns where they're trying to
- 25:13Speaker 1: do that today, especially against a team that does not
- 25:15Speaker 1: have Aaron Donald once again in the picture, but does
- 25:17Speaker 1: have Baker Mayfield. With a little bit more time to
- 25:20Speaker 1: prepare this week, Kayla, what's the game plan for the
- 25:23Speaker 1: Rams with their new quarterback? The game plan is not
- 25:27Speaker 1: to be eliminated, and that starts with today. Baker Mayfield
- 25:30Speaker 1: finally has more than forty eight hours to prepare with
- 25:34Speaker 1: this group and head coach on, McVeigh says he has
- 25:36Speaker 1: been very impressed with the progression Baker Mayfield has been
- 25:39Speaker 1: making so far when it comes to leading up to
- 25:42Speaker 1: this point. Sean McVeigh also said that the goal has
- 25:45Speaker 1: been to really have him understand and learn this playbook
- 25:48Speaker 1: and bite size increments. He loves that this guy is
- 25:51Speaker 1: able to create with his legs. He says, he's great
- 25:54Speaker 1: in and out of the pocket, great on and off
- 25:55Speaker 1: the platform, and he's gonna have to use that today,
- 25:58Speaker 1: especially against a top five passing defense. Rams out officially
- 26:02Speaker 1: with the loss as Baker Mayfield be dressed as case
- 26:04Speaker 1: Keenom tonight at Lambeau. Thank you, Taylor Burton Live There.
