- Liam: We're back, Jamie. Week two. How you doing? Jamie: I am doing well, Liam. How are you doing? Liam: Fantastic. Just as planned. You launch a brand new podcast and we're gonna take it in turns going on holiday. We've got Jamie: Yeah. Liam: wild wildly different setups for each week for the first three weeks. Jamie: And then it will settle down. Yeah, yeah. Start the NFL season and then we've decided to yeah, to both go away on holiday. in the next couple of weeks. Liam: It's cause Jamie, we're that committed to the pod that we Yeah, we need to get our holidays out of the way first. Jamie: Well, I mean you've y you've taken Yeah. Exactly, yeah. So then we're clear for the rest of the season. I mean you're so committed. Liam: Yeah, we're locked in. Jamie: You've taken tops with you. Jamie: Yeah, what we got planned. Liam: So we're gonna start off with our ten teams at the fourth and T table. These are the top ten teams for the season, according to us. They're gonna be the best teams with the best chance at the Super Bowls, split into three categories. Tier one is our locked. Tier two, stocked. Tier three, they're our smoking barrels. So we'll go through them at the beginning at each tier, but that's basically The teams that should be expecting to go to the Super Bowl. Nothing else will count as a good season. Our stocked are primed, ready to go. They want to be there, but they're just not quite there. And our smoking barrels, we can see them going there the whole way. With that t tiny little squint, we see them running all the way to the Super Bowl. Then part two, once we've done that, we're gonna do three players who have a pivotal season. The outcome of this is gonna change their team, their future going past this season. Sound good? Jamie: Sounds like a plan. Liam: Sounds like a plan. Awesome. Jamie: Sounds like a plan. Jamie: Locked in teams. I think we we I think we would agree on all three. Okay. Liam: This this is why I love this. I don't know if we're gonna agree. We we say every Jamie: Thanks. Now they've got a pairing of Miles Garrett and Donald. I mean, sensational. Can't can't wait. Liam: Quite scared. My Jamie: Yeah. Can't wait to see it. Liam: my only concern for them is they're so locked in. If they even lost to the Seahawks, I think they're gonna go be upset. Jamie: yeah, I think they they have it boys i it's again the LA Rams way of win or bust straight away. Liam: This is like actually winner bust. Like if this team doesn't win, what's their excuse? Injury's the only excuse they can have. Jamie: None. They've fully that's yeah, that's the only yeah, only thing or maybe drafting a quarterback in the first round doesn't feel locked in, but you know. Liam: That is you know what, they'll look back at that. Jamie: Yeah. What they I mean, they could have used it on another trying to get another player. Trent McDuffie, I forgot to actually sign from as well on the off season. So like they have they have yeah. Liam: Yep, they sorted out the cornerbacks, they've upgraded the pass rush, they've not taken a step back on offense. You know, I think is the biggest question mark, Stafford's back. Jamie: Well, l as we said, now they've drafted a new Q a new Q B. Liam: Well, you know what, yeah, and it's Jamie: To work. Liam: an okay it's preseason pre season, but not terrible. Yeah. Jamie: Eat it tour. Yeah. Liam: They've just they've just traded for Van Jefferson. They've brought him back. Jamie: Add another weapon in. Yeah. Why not? The ones they add Yeah. All right, nice. Liam: I mean, yeah. One. Awesome. Right. Jamie: Who have you got? Liam: Nice and easy. Right. Number two for me. Again, for the video listeners, ignore the jersey, but s the Seattle Seahawks. I put them as three, but only because I didn't want to have two NFC teams or one and two. That's my only reasoning. Yeah, and yeah, not Liam: NFC West is yeah. Well, yeah, I did think Jamie: just NFC. NFC West Tiers. I thought, you know. But yeah. Liam: But that was the Super Bowl really last year. Jamie: Yeah, yeah. And then it you know, it's just a Liam: What a game. Jamie: brilliant. Yeah. Again, like pr they were probably two of the best teams going at it. Liam: Yeah, fantastic. I mean what's not to love? Jamie: do you know what you c y yeah the thing is you can question you can be like Sam Darnold but he's al you just won a Super Bowl. So you can't even question him. Liam: Yeah. Yeah, with completely fine play. You know what? He had to lean on defence at some points. But that's why you Jamie: Yeah, but Liam: have a good defence. And then he won some of those games. Like, you know, we've we put up Jamie: He did, yeah. Liam: a lot of points in the in a lot of those games. Like that's a lot to do with Sam. Jamie: The only little running back. That's my only that's the only thing that might Liam: Okay. I Jamie: get flagged. Liam: agree. I do think they've taken a step back in that department. I think versus the Rams, who have only taken steps forward, I think the Seattle Seahawks have taken some steps back. However, Charbonnet's gonna come back. Cool. He was pretty much the main running back through the season last year anyway. You know, it was split, but you know. He really was the main running back. As much as I didn't love that, they've got the new running back. He's up and if if he was drafted to another Super Bowl winner, first round pick from a top running offense. Normally, fantasy, you know, look at Genty. Look at Hampton. These guys are going in the first round. This guy, people are like, meh. What does that even mean? No there's just there's it's like this is an amazing top tier pick with loads of caveats. When when people see it, I think they're gonna love it. Jamie: There you go. Not biased whatsoever. Liam: Zero bias. However, you got them tier one as well. Jamie: I d I do. I they haven't they haven't adjusted that much and I think it's Liam: Yeah. Also the coaching staff. Like Jamie: He hasn't lost the was he had the ten plus winning season like back back to back straight away. Easy. Back to back to back, won a Super Bowl. Well not back to back to back, but yeah. Liam: Back to back to back. Well, not no at the Orks, but like but like he's been like on he's just been good squads, good squads. Wherever he is, top defense, innovative, we want to copy that. So yeah, it's just he's just top tier. Also, look, I think he's just showing up a little bit on hard knocks. Like he is like Jamie: Yeah. Liam: the guy you want to be around, but then he puts his foot down and you go, Yes, coach. Jamie: Yeah. It's like 'cause it doesn't come across it straight away and then when you see it it's like hmm, I get it. Liam: He's like the modern alpha man, like Jamie: Yeah. But I suppose with the coaching system and mix up, if they can hold the defense and if the offense takes a level up. Jamie: Yeah, I think I that's actually quite an interesting put it with Joe Brady, obviously new head coach there. Liam: Mm-hmm. Jamie: you know, replacing Sean McDermott, more defensive mind obviously Sean McDermott, but depends if Brady can unlock well, further unlock that offense to you know. Liam: it I think if they're gonna have a bit more you know reliable outlets than Josh being amazing regularly Jamie: Mm. Liam: all right I mean the I mean the thing is it Joe Brady was there anyway but if they can unlock some more easy things for Josh all Jamie: Yeah. Liam: of a sudden if he could you know he when he has to do the Superman things rather than doing the Superman things to get to those key points Jamie: Every single time. Yeah. Liam: Two out of three, you're there. You know what? Yeah. Perfect. I think quick note on those before we skip past it. I think that offense's gonna upgrade. They've changed the system. They're gonna do a little bit more Seattle Seahawks, you know, wide receiver. His name just jumped out of my head. Jamie: Smith. Liam: Devontae Smith. That's it. Jamie, good job you're here. But for the Super Bowl, I think the Texans are in my smoking barrel. Jamie: They're not in mine because I went I Liam: Mm. One is going to drop into the smoking barrel. We have the chargers and cowboys locked into that category. Plus the other one. And then we have One more space in the smoking barrels. So let's try and work that one Jamie: Yeah. Liam: out. So I'm gonna throw out everybody I potentially considered. And I want you to f I want you to loop back in on a couple that intrigue Jamie: Okay.
