- 0:04Welcome to Voices of Life, a ministry of the
- 0:06Church for Life, and I'm your host, Pastor David.
- 0:10Today we begin week 12 of our 12 -week journey,
- 0:14Living with Purpose, a God -Centered Life. And
- 0:18this week, we step into the final theme, the
- 0:21theme that gives meaning to every other week,
- 0:24puts it all together, the theme that shapes how
- 0:29we live, how we love, how we serve. and how we
- 0:34finish. This week, we're talking about eternity.
- 0:40Not eternity as an idea, not eternity as a doctrine,
- 0:45but eternity as a reality, a destination, a promise,
- 0:50a home. Eternity is not the end of your story.
- 0:57Eternity is the beginning of the story God created
- 1:01for you. Eternity is not something you think
- 1:08about only at the end of your life. Eternity
- 1:12is something that shapes how you live today.
- 1:16When you understand eternity, your priorities
- 1:20shift. Your values shift. The decisions you make
- 1:25change. Your purpose changes. Because eternity
- 1:31puts everything in perspective. eternity reminds
- 1:36you that this world is not your home you are
- 1:42passing through on assignment on a mission on
- 1:46a purpose you are not created for temporary things
- 1:52you're not created for a short life that ends
- 1:55in the grave you were created for eternal life
- 1:59you were created for fellowship with god You
- 2:06were created for a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
- 2:10You were created for a future that cannot be
- 2:14taken. Eternity is not a reward. Eternity is
- 2:18your design. Let's anchor ourselves in the Word
- 2:24of God. Asciliastes 3 verse 11 says, God has
- 2:31set eternity in the human heart. That means you
- 2:36were born with a longing for something more.
- 2:41A longing for something beyond this world. A
- 2:45longing for the presence of God. And a longing
- 2:49for a life you were created to live. Eternity
- 2:53is written into your soul. Everything in this
- 2:57world is temporary. Your possessions, accomplishments,
- 3:01titles, reputations, seasons, struggles, victories.
- 3:06But the things of God, the things of the Spirit,
- 3:11the things of eternity whose things last forever,
- 3:14your faith, your obedience, love, worship, as
- 3:22we talked about last week, your legacy, your
- 3:25relationship with Christ, these things are eternal.
- 3:31When you live with eternity in mind, you live
- 3:34differently. You forgive quickly. You love deeply.
- 3:38You serve joyfully. You give generously. You
- 3:44endure faithfully. Your worship is passionate.
- 3:49You live intentionally because you know this
- 3:53life is preparation for the life to come. Eternal
- 3:58perspective creates purposeful living. Take a
- 4:06slow breath in and exhale gently. Now ask yourself,
- 4:10what am I living for? What am I pursuing? What
- 4:17am I building? What am I investing in? Now ask
- 4:24the Holy Spirit, Lord, align my life with eternity.
- 4:32Let that prayer Rest in your heart. Let us pray.
- 4:40Father, thank you for the promise of eternal
- 4:43life. Thank you for preparing a place for your
- 4:47people. Teach us to live today with eternity
- 4:51in mind. Help us to value what you value. Help
- 4:57us pursue what matters forever. Shape our hearts
- 5:01for the life to come. In Jesus' name, amen. Now
- 5:10we turn our hearts toward heaven. Because heaven
- 5:15is not a myth. Heaven is not a symbol. And it's
- 5:22not a metaphor. Heaven is real. More real than
- 5:27anything you see around you. Heaven is the presence
- 5:33of God. Heaven is the fullness of joy. Heaven
- 5:42is the absence of pain. It is the restoration
- 5:48of all things. It is home. Your heart has been
- 5:52longing for your entire life. Heaven is not the
- 5:57clouds. heaven is not harps heaven is not distance
- 6:04heaven is life life is god intended life without
- 6:09sin or sorrow without fear and without endings
- 6:15revelation 21 verse 4 says he will wipe every
- 6:24tear from their eyes there will be no more death
- 6:28or mourning or crying or pain this is not poetry
- 6:34this is pro this is promise this is your future
- 6:38this is your inheritance your inheritance equals
- 6:43your eternity eternity is not just destination
- 6:49eternity is a source of hope when life is heavy
- 6:54eternity gives strength When seasons are painful,
- 6:57eternity gives perspective. When the world feels
- 7:02dark, eternity gives light. When you feel alone,
- 7:07eternity reminds you that God is preparing a
- 7:10place where you will never be separated from
- 7:13his presence again. Jesus said in John 14, A
- 7:25place for you. Not a place for crowds. A place
- 7:31for you. A place with your name on it. A place
- 7:37designated for your redeemed life. A place crafted
- 7:42by the one who loves you. Heaven is personal.
- 7:48Heaven is intentional. And heaven is home. Close
- 7:55your eyes. Take a slow breath in and exhale gently.
- 8:01Now imagine a place with no fear, no pain, no
- 8:10sorrow. A place filled with light, filled with
- 8:15joy, filled with the presence of God. Now whisper.
- 8:23Thank you, Lord, for preparing a place for me.
- 8:28Let peace settle over your spirit. Let us pray.
- 8:41Father, thank you for the hope of heaven. Thank
- 8:45you for the promise of eternal life. Thank you
- 8:48for preparing a place for your children. Fill
- 8:51our hearts with eternal hope. Strengthen us with
- 8:56eternal perspective. Anchor us in eternal truth.
- 9:02In Jesus' name, amen. Now we shift from the promise
- 9:11of eternity to the purpose of eternity. Everything
- 9:17in life has a purpose. And because eternity is
- 9:21not just about where you're going. Eternity is
- 9:24about how you live while you're here. When you
- 9:32understand eternity, you understand mission.
- 9:35You understand calling and the sense of urgency.
- 9:41And you understand your life is not random. Your
- 9:46life wasn't accidental. Your life is intentional.
- 9:53You are here on purpose, for a purpose, with
- 9:58purpose. When eternity becomes real, you stop
- 10:06wasting time. You stop chasing approval, applause.
- 10:11You stop holding grudges. You stop living small.
- 10:17You start... living boldly, loving deeply, giving
- 10:23freely, you start serving joyfully and faithfully
- 10:28because eternity clarifies everything. Corinthians
- 10:384 verse 18 says, We fix our eyes not on what
- 10:44is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen
- 10:50is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- 10:56This is the posture of a believer. Eyes on eternity,
- 11:02heart on eternity, life shaped by eternity. Eternity
- 11:10shapes your priorities, relationships, your generosity.
- 11:18your ability for forgiveness, your worship, the
- 11:22decisions you make, your legacy. When you live
- 11:27with eternity in mind, you live with clarity,
- 11:31courage, conviction, compassion, because you
- 11:36live with a purpose. Take a slow breath in and
- 11:42exhale gently. Now ask yourself, What is God
- 11:47calling me to do with the time I have? What is
- 11:53he saying? What is God calling me to love? How
- 11:58is he calling me to serve? Who is God calling
- 12:03me to forgive? Who is God calling me to reach?
- 12:08Now ask the Holy Spirit, Lord. Show me my eternal
- 12:15purpose. Let that prayer rest in your spirit.
- 12:23Let us pray. Father, thank you for giving our
- 12:29lives eternal purpose. Thank you for calling
- 12:33us to live with intention, with mission, and
- 12:36with clarity. Help us to invest our lives in
- 12:41what matters forever. Help us to walk in purpose.
- 12:46Help us to live with courage. Help us to honor
- 12:50you in everything we do. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 13:05And now as we're coming to the last part of eternity
- 13:10today, is the end of our 12 -week journey. We
- 13:22turn our hearts toward the moment every believer
- 13:26longs for, the moment every believer lives for,
- 13:30the moment when we stand before God. This final
- 13:38segment is about finishing your life with eternity
- 13:43in your heart. and hearing the words every child
- 13:48of god longs to hear well done one day you will
- 13:57stand before god not in fear not in shame but
- 14:01in love in grace in joy in the presence of the
- 14:06one who redeemed you the one who carried you
- 14:10the one who never left you The one who prepared
- 14:16a place for you. This moment is not something
- 14:21to dread. This moment is something to anticipate.
- 14:26Because for the believer, standing before God
- 14:30is coming home. God does not reward perfection.
- 14:37He rewards faithfulness. Faithfulness in the
- 14:43small things. Faithfulness in the hidden things.
- 14:46Faithfulness in the difficult things. And faithfulness
- 14:51in the ordinary things. Faithfulness is what
- 14:55heaven celebrates. Faithfulness is what eternity
- 15:00remembers. And faithfulness is what God honors.
- 15:07Matthew 25, verse 23 says, well done good and
- 15:14faithful servant not well done successful servant
- 15:22not well done famous servant not well done perfect
- 15:30servant it's well done faithful servant this
- 15:37is the reward of a life lived with eternity in
- 15:43mind when you live for well done you live differently
- 15:51you live with purpose humility you live with
- 15:56courage and compassion you live with integrity
- 16:01you live with joy you live with eternity in your
- 16:06heart well done is not about what you accomplished.
- 16:13Well done is about who you became. Your earthly
- 16:20story will one day end, but your eternal story
- 16:24will never end. Your earthly story is temporary.
- 16:30Your eternal story is forever. And the choices
- 16:34you make now, the life you live, The faith you
- 16:42walk out now, all of it, shapes the story you
- 16:49will live forever. Place your hands over your
- 16:55heart. Take a slow breath in and exhale gently.
- 17:02Now whisper, Lord, prepare my heart for eternity.
- 17:10Let that prayer sink deep. Now imagine standing
- 17:17before God, hearing his voice, feeling his love,
- 17:23entering his presence, stepping into the life
- 17:28you were created for. Now whisper, my life is
- 17:36yours. My eternity is yours. My purpose is yours.
- 17:44Let peace fill your spirit. Let us pray. Father,
- 17:55thank you for this journey. Thank you for teaching
- 18:00us to live with purpose, with intention, to live
- 18:05with clarity and faith and love. with eternity
- 18:09in our hearts. Shape our lives for your glory.
- 18:16Guide our steps. Strengthen our faith. Deepen
- 18:23our love. And prepare us for the day we stand
- 18:29before you. May our lives bring honor to your
- 18:34name. May our legacy Point people to Jesus. And
- 18:40may our eternity be filled with your presence.
- 18:46In Jesus' name, amen. This concludes week 12.
- 18:55And it concludes our 12 -week journey together,
