- 1:23Speaker 1: of America. In Jesus' holy name we pray, amen. And welcome,
- 1:28Speaker 1: welcome to this Tuesday. Thank you for being with me.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And I think I'm starting to think too much, and
- 1:35Speaker 1: I don't know if that happens when you get older
- 1:38Speaker 1: or you get more disgusted or whatever the.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Case may be.
- 1:41Speaker 1: And I am not, I am not, I am not, repeat,
- 1:44Speaker 1: a glass-half-empty guy. I am a glass-half-full guy.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You know, I read.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Not nearly enough of my Bible, but the 23rd Psalm
- 1:53Speaker 1: tells me that my word will prepare a table for
- 1:56Speaker 1: me in the presence of my enemies. I'm not sitting
- 1:59Speaker 1: there eating around a corner trying to hide from them.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And this is how I do my best to do
- 2:07Speaker 1: what I can do. But I've been troubled about something recently,
- 2:12Speaker 1: and we're just told so much nonsense and so much
- 2:15Speaker 1: garbage under the cloak of legitimacy.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That it is mind-blowing.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And it's like you can be as ridiculous as you
- 2:24Speaker 1: want to be. You can be as stupid as you
- 2:26Speaker 1: want to be. You can be as error-prone as you
- 2:28Speaker 1: want to be. But when you start to hurt others,
- 2:32Speaker 1: that's where I get very angry. And I must say something,
- 2:37Speaker 1: because when the stupid are hurt and the innocent are
- 2:42Speaker 1: hurt because of the stupid and all that, we create
- 2:46Speaker 1: problems that did not have to exist. and I've been
- 2:50Speaker 1: sort of ruminating about this. And today I'd like to
- 2:53Speaker 1: talk about the, what is the Connecticut public health crisis?
- 2:58Speaker 1: And it might be the public health crisis. If you're
- 3:00Speaker 1: in New York or California or Illinois, or, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: one of the, uh, the blue states, Rhode Island, welcome.
- 3:07Speaker 1: What is a public health crisis in Connecticut? Now, uh,
- 3:10Speaker 1: we were told a few years back that racism is
- 3:13Speaker 1: a public health crisis. Uh, the, uh, We had a
- 3:18Speaker 1: bill in our legislature that actually passed that racism constitutes
- 3:23Speaker 1: a public health crisis in this state. We required better
- 3:27Speaker 1: race and ethnicity data and added implicit bias training. You know,
- 3:31Speaker 1: if you see someone who's a different color than you,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you are, quote, unquote, determined to be implicitly biased against them.
- 3:39Speaker 1: That has always just somehow been scratching my head about
- 3:43Speaker 1: that since it happened.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But something.
- 3:46Speaker 1: In observation, this past week, I've come to one conclusion,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and I want you to hear me out on this.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We have something known as the Trust Act, and to me,
- 3:56Speaker 1: the Trust Act is the new Connecticut public health crisis.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What the hell am I talking about? I submit that
- 4:03Speaker 1: unto you.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Let me explain.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Harken back, September 23, 2026, ICE agent, Immigration Control and Enforcement,
- 4:11Speaker 1: a national news story, entered the Meriden, Connecticut Superior Court,
- 4:16Speaker 1: at 54 West Main Street and took a man in
- 4:19Speaker 1: custody inside the building. The agents, most of them wearing
- 4:23Speaker 1: face coverings, walked around, and the person they wanted to
- 4:27Speaker 1: apprehend was a person by the name of Wellington Leonel
- 4:31Speaker 1: Amara Diaz. He's an Ecuadorian citizen. He was in court
- 4:36Speaker 1: on a traffic or DUI-related matter. Our governor, Ned Lamont,
- 4:41Speaker 1: known affectionately by me on this show and on 30
- 4:43Speaker 1: with Tony and on the 10 with Tony snippets, says,
- 4:46Speaker 1: King Governor Ned Lamont, the unaccountable, said, well, you know,
- 4:48Speaker 1: they had a detainer. Why didn't they stop? Various people
- 4:53Speaker 1: spoke out. Meriden City Council member Miguel Castro of the
- 4:58Speaker 1: Middlesex Immigrant Rights Alliance had been watching for ICE. There
- 5:03Speaker 1: is something known as a rapid response team whenever ICE
- 5:07Speaker 1: is to, you know, quote, unquote, be deployed. It's sort
- 5:10Speaker 1: of like, you know, kind of like the 1930s gangster movies.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Cheese it, here come the cops.
- 5:15Speaker 4: And.
- 5:16Speaker 1: The volunteers are trained to watch, record, and warn.
- 5:21Speaker 2: They use signal.
- 5:23Speaker 1: They film continuously. They ask out loud for a signed
- 5:26Speaker 1: judicial warrant. which, of course, it's federal law. They don't
- 5:30Speaker 1: need a warrant. All they need is the operation of
- 5:32Speaker 1: federal law. They blow whistles. And they ask for, they
- 5:38Speaker 1: yell for a name, date of birth, emergency contact, and
- 5:42Speaker 1: they are told, they are told to step back, you know,
- 5:46Speaker 1: get out of the way of the moving train. How
- 5:49Speaker 1: difficult is that? Harken back, if you will, to when
- 5:53Speaker 1: The president, Donald J. Trump, 47th president of the United States,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry he is. I didn't mean to send you
- 6:02Speaker 1: over your bed and have you spill your coffee, but
- 6:05Speaker 1: that's a fact. You might as well get used to
- 6:08Speaker 1: it for the next couple of years. And it was
- 6:11Speaker 1: in the United Nations. And I see people in business
- 6:15Speaker 1: suits and business dresses sitting in the street in New
- 6:19Speaker 1: York in front of the presidential motorcade. Didn't your mother
- 6:22Speaker 1: tell you that if you get in front of something
- 6:25Speaker 1: that's moving, you're probably going to get killed? Apparently, it
- 6:29Speaker 1: did not register in these people. Anyway, that's an aside.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So what we watched on a number of videos were
- 6:37Speaker 1: these people who were, you know, kind of yelling and screaming,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and they started to get in the way of the
- 6:45Speaker 1: federal officers. Now, regardless of how you feel about ICE, okay,
- 6:51Speaker 1: that for purposes of my discussion today, to be very clear,
- 6:54Speaker 1: is irrelevant and immaterial. We have to look at the
- 6:58Speaker 1: law the way the law exists. Now, can the law change? Oh,
- 7:02Speaker 1: you better believe it. How many laws have we seen
- 7:04Speaker 1: change over, you know, how many years? how many years
- 7:07Speaker 1: or whatever the case may be. You know, it's like
- 7:11Speaker 1: when I was a kid watching Dragnet, Sergeant Joe Friday
- 7:14Speaker 1: would always say to the guy with the drugs, well, hey,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you know, if you don't like that law, you change it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Guess what? They did. So, you know, laws can change.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But the way the law stands right now, federal law
- 7:25Speaker 1: supersedes state law. And the Trust Act is nonsense. It
- 7:29Speaker 1: has absolutely no bearing against federal law. And if you
- 7:34Speaker 1: see the feds, yeah, you can blow your whistle, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: can yell and all that. But you have to get
- 7:39Speaker 1: the hell out of the way because you might get hurt.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And if you do get hurt, you get hurt interfering
- 7:47Speaker 1: with a federal process, regardless of how you feel about it.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So now we've got these people and, you know, they'll
- 7:55Speaker 1: go home. And they'll watch, you know, state-run news. They'll
- 7:57Speaker 1: watch any one of our, you know, lovely state-run news channels.
- 8:01Speaker 1: you'll see these very serious young men and young women
- 8:04Speaker 1: talk about, well, the people in Connecticut are considering the
- 8:08Speaker 1: legality of whether or not this was right, and they
- 8:11Speaker 1: didn't answer the judicial warrant, and they were— listen, they don't
- 8:15Speaker 1: have to, okay? They don't have to. They are the
- 8:18Speaker 1: 500-pound gorilla. You can hate their guts. They're still the
- 8:22Speaker 1: 500-pound gorilla, whether you want them to be or not.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And it is this thing where I say the TRUST
- 8:29Speaker 1: Act is a public health crisis— When you start to
- 8:32Speaker 1: prey on the weak-minded, when you start to prey on
- 8:35Speaker 1: those that are vulnerable, and you time and time and
- 8:39Speaker 1: time again, you see people like you saw in Meredith,
- 8:44Speaker 1: like that woman who's probably, I don't know.
- 8:47Speaker 2: 60, 65 years old.
- 8:49Speaker 1: People say she took a dive when she was pushed.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't know, but let's just assume, arguendo, I love
- 8:55Speaker 1: that word, that she was pushed. She got in the way.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And she ended up on the pavement and she hit
- 9:02Speaker 1: her head. And you see people like that. How many
- 9:06Speaker 1: more people do you have to see hurt like that
- 9:10Speaker 1: and perhaps killed?
- 9:12Speaker 2: You know, there were two people killed.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Or might have been more, but at least two I
- 9:16Speaker 1: remember that were killed by ISIS. You could debate this
- 9:19Speaker 1: whole thing of they should, they shouldn't, whatever the case
- 9:22Speaker 1: may be. But the fact of the matter is they
- 9:25Speaker 1: got in the way of something that was taking place
- 9:28Speaker 1: that they shouldn't have. You don't get in the way
- 9:31Speaker 1: of federal processes. Now, can that change? Oh, yeah, we
- 9:36Speaker 1: can have a 13-person Supreme Court. We can convert to
- 9:41Speaker 1: socialism and all that. I'm only giving you the way
- 9:45Speaker 1: things exist. And when people feed on that, and there's
- 9:49Speaker 1: two bodies, if you will, that I hold— fully responsible,
- 9:55Speaker 1: let's be clear about that, for this public health crisis
- 9:58Speaker 1: or this new public health crisis being the Trust Act
- 10:01Speaker 1: is a public health crisis.
- 10:03Speaker 2: The first one is the.
- 10:07Speaker 1: When they start to give you these news reports and
- 10:10Speaker 1: they start to give you this stuff of oh you
- 10:12Speaker 1: know this shouldn't happen they should have done this it's
- 10:15Speaker 1: like they don't have the right listen they got the
- 10:17Speaker 1: right okay it's called the supremacy clause they could do
- 10:21Speaker 1: whatever they want within the boundaries of federal law you
- 10:25Speaker 1: may not like it that's okay there's laws i don't
- 10:28Speaker 1: like there's laws i have to deal with i don't
- 10:30Speaker 1: get to write them you don't get to write them
- 10:33Speaker 1: uh you know the uh In the tax game, we
- 10:36Speaker 1: talk about Wyeth versus Hoey, you know, fed Trump state.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's the way it is. Oh, that's not right. Well, OK,
- 10:42Speaker 1: maybe you don't like that, but you're supposed to proceed
- 10:45Speaker 1: in this life upon certain assumptions. You know, the sun
- 10:48Speaker 1: will rise. The sun will set. If you're thirsty, you
- 10:52Speaker 1: get water. I mean, it's an assumption, which if you
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't like it, you can change it. You know, but
- 10:57Speaker 1: it's just that's the way it's been. And I can't
- 11:01Speaker 1: help you if you disagree with it. If you disagree
- 11:04Speaker 1: with it, go change it. But there's people feeding this
- 11:08Speaker 1: over and over again. And I get these things, and
- 11:10Speaker 1: I get people coming to me saying, Tony, what are
- 11:13Speaker 1: we going to do about the media? Tony, what are
- 11:15Speaker 1: we going to do about the media? I say there's
- 11:17Speaker 1: two things you can do. Number one, stop watching them.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Stop giving them attention. Tell others to do the same.
- 11:26Speaker 1: If you want to be an activist— If they bother
- 11:29Speaker 1: you that much, call up the station. Tell them you're
- 11:31Speaker 1: going to boycott their advertisers. You know, the only thing
- 11:35Speaker 1: they're going to understand, basically, is what comes into their wallet.
- 11:38Speaker 2: They don't care about anything else, basically.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But the biggest way to, quote, unquote, not be bothered
- 11:44Speaker 1: by something is not to look at it. You know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I was looking over the weekend. There was one, we
- 11:50Speaker 1: talked about this on the 30 with Tony. There was
- 11:52Speaker 1: one particular person on Facebook who was off, entirely off
- 11:58Speaker 1: about a political candidate he hated and was obsessive about
- 12:03Speaker 1: it in detail. And the first thing I'm saying to
- 12:05Speaker 1: myself is, you poor person.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Is this how you spend your life?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Is this all you have to just sit there and
- 12:13Speaker 1: write down things and obsess about somebody you hate? Man,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I wish I had the luxury. Find something better to do.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So those are things you can do. The best place
- 12:23Speaker 1: to hurt somebody, believe me, is their pocketbook. The other
- 12:26Speaker 1: thing is, I blame our legislature. I blame our legislature
- 12:31Speaker 1: for perpetuating this farce, making people think they could do this,
- 12:35Speaker 1: making people think that they have the right to interfere.
- 12:39Speaker 2: With federal law.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I don't care if you like it. I don't care
- 12:41Speaker 1: if you don't like it. That's irrelevant. That's immaterial. It's
- 12:45Speaker 1: the standing law. And how many people are going to
- 12:48Speaker 1: get hurt or killed? Because what if I shows up
- 12:51Speaker 1: today in New Haven? I mean, is somebody going to
- 12:54Speaker 1: take out a gun? I mean, these are the things
- 12:57Speaker 1: there when people do this with malice of forethought. And
- 12:59Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you something. You could hate my guts.
- 13:01Speaker 6: It's OK.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'm at the point now where I really don't care.
- 13:05Speaker 1: My God will look after me. The you know, those
- 13:08Speaker 1: that love me will look after me. The if this
- 13:14Speaker 1: thing started coming in front of me and I were
- 13:16Speaker 1: in the legislature, I would have gotten up and walked out.
- 13:19Speaker 7: It's like.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Do you realize what you're doing if you're a Republican?
- 13:22Speaker 1: I mean, basically, it's like you're going to have this
- 13:25Speaker 1: thing and you're giving legitimacy to something that doesn't exist.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Now, some members, to be fair, said that.
- 13:33Speaker 1: But wouldn't it be a great thing right now if
- 13:35Speaker 1: people came out and said, you know, hey, listen, people,
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't do this. Democrats are putting you in danger by
- 13:42Speaker 1: doing this. If you see federal authorities saying, get out
- 13:47Speaker 1: of the way and say, yes, sir, no, sir, yes, ma'am, no, ma'am.
- 13:51Speaker 2: You can disagree.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You can protest. That's your right. I'm not here to
- 13:55Speaker 1: debate that. But what I am concerned about is people
- 13:58Speaker 1: getting hurt by weakness and psychosis and feeding on that, basically,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and making them do that. These are the things that
- 14:07Speaker 1: really trouble me. And it's like, how many times do
- 14:10Speaker 1: I have to go through this life and how many
- 14:12Speaker 1: times do I have to be.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Lied at How many times do I have to be.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Laughed at when every single thing that I can think of,
- 14:21Speaker 1: not because I'm right and I'm always right, but basically
- 14:25Speaker 1: look at the fact of what's there and then make
- 14:28Speaker 1: your decision. Well, anyway, we are just getting started. Tony
- 14:33Speaker 1: D'Angelo in for Lee Elsie, September.
- 14:35Speaker 8: 29th, 2026.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Had to think of the year.

- 14:44Speaker 1: longtime Stanford guy, played a lot of ball together.
- 14:47Speaker 2: His dad was a custodian in the school system. My
- 14:50Speaker 2: dad ran pictures. And he's going to tell you about money.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So after that, Bob Lazeri, the Power Hour coming up
- 14:57Speaker 1: at 8, and then Judge John Nazero, Power Hour at 7,

- 26:14Speaker 39: Jim Alenti. Jim, how are you this morning?
- 26:17Speaker 40: I'm well, thank you, Mr.
- 26:19Speaker 12: Delangio.
- 26:20Speaker 40: Hello, everybody.
- 26:22Speaker 1: And we welcome you as the Kimo Sabe's here of 94.9.
- 26:28Speaker 39: The book, The Meaning of America, The Wealth of America,
- 26:32Speaker 39: I'm sorry.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Tell us about the book and tell us what got
- 26:36Speaker 1: you to write the book and what your inspiration was.
- 26:40Speaker 40: Well, I've been in financial services pretty much all my
- 26:44Speaker 40: adult life. And in looking at plans holistically, comprehensively from
- 26:51Speaker 40: the top down, I asked the question, what is all
- 26:55Speaker 40: of this worth? The same as I would for a
- 26:57Speaker 40: client at the kitchen table or the boardroom. And I
- 27:02Speaker 40: then went to the computer and asked, how much is
- 27:07Speaker 40: America worth? And the answer came back to be astonishing.
- 27:15Speaker 40: If you count every road, bridge, forest, farm, all factories,
- 27:23Speaker 40: the stock market, banking, add it all up, the answer
- 27:28Speaker 40: is an astonishing $ 179 trillion, give or take a couple
- 27:36Speaker 40: of trill, because after all.
- 27:38Speaker 39: A bag of shells, yeah, exactly.
- 27:40Speaker 40: It changes every day. And that set me on a
- 27:44Speaker 40: journey of discovery. And I was compelled to write it up,
- 27:50Speaker 40: The Wealth of America.
- 27:53Speaker 1: So your concept is that if we are people in America,
- 28:00Speaker 1: if we are, for lack of a better term, shareholders
- 28:04Speaker 1: or functional units to that wealth, we should be partaking
- 28:08Speaker 1: in this collective wealth. Now, You explain it in the book,
- 28:13Speaker 1: but I want you to explain it to the audience.
- 28:16Speaker 41: Well, I.
- 28:20Speaker 40: Try to codify and narrow down the real problem, which
- 28:27Speaker 40: is America is very wealthy, but Americans are not very wealthy.
- 28:34Speaker 10: So here we are amidst this abundance.
- 28:40Speaker 40: And yet people are struggling, not saving any money, going
- 28:44Speaker 40: to debt, inflation, retirement crisis, education crisis, housing crisis, all
- 28:50Speaker 40: of that. And the next question became, why? How did
- 28:56Speaker 40: we get in this mess? And that led me to
- 29:01Speaker 40: seek and find some answers. So starting from the beginning,
- 29:08Speaker 40: I asked myself, What is America all about? And I
- 29:14Speaker 40: discovered that the word America is derived from the Spanish explorer,
- 29:22Speaker 40: Amerigo Vespucci, right? Who wrote a book called A Whole
- 29:29Speaker 40: New World. And his name, Amerigo, is broken down into amo,
- 29:37Speaker 40: which is heart and courage. and Rigo refers to rich
- 29:43Speaker 40: and prosperous so put them together and what do you
- 29:46Speaker 40: got you got Amerigo America which means the land of
- 29:53Speaker 40: courage and people with heart and which is rich and
- 29:58Speaker 40: powerful and prosperous, and therefore no nation was more aptly
- 30:03Speaker 40: named than America.
- 30:06Speaker 12: Interesting.
- 30:08Speaker 35: Isn't that fascinating?
- 30:09Speaker 39: It really is. Who would have thunk it?
- 30:12Speaker 40: So here we are hundreds of years later, and we
- 30:16Speaker 40: have this tremendous disparity in incomes and wealth and the
- 30:21Speaker 40: age-old problem, the great divide is between the haves. and
- 30:26Speaker 40: the have-nots. So I asked the question, how do we
- 30:30Speaker 40: get this wealth into the hands of the people so
- 30:35Speaker 40: it will make a difference in their lives? And I
- 30:38Speaker 40: found answers. I found a way to do that. And
- 30:43Speaker 40: the fundamental problem leading to the disparity, the haves and
- 30:49Speaker 40: the have-nots, now is money. Well, of course, the haves
- 30:56Speaker 40: have the money and the have-nots don't.
- 30:59Speaker 12: Yes.
- 31:01Speaker 40: But our money is broken. And our broken money is
- 31:06Speaker 40: breaking all of us. The way the money is created
- 31:12Speaker 40: causes inflation from the very first dollar and the cost
- 31:18Speaker 40: for every dollar increases as it flows through the economy.
- 31:24Speaker 40: So the more hands... touch that dollar, the more expensive
- 31:29Speaker 40: things cost. And that hurts working people the most. Salary people,
- 31:36Speaker 40: hourly people, fixed incomes, and the working poor are hurt
- 31:41Speaker 40: most of all from this inflation. I then asked Tony, well,
- 31:47Speaker 40: how do we get this nominal wealth, this $ 179 trillion,
- 31:53Speaker 40: into the hands of the people so they could improve
- 31:56Speaker 40: their lives. And I found a way to do it.
- 32:00Speaker 40: And it calls for monetary reform. It calls for financial reform. Now,
- 32:06Speaker 40: I fully realize that this is painfully idealistic. But that's
- 32:12Speaker 40: what change is all about. Things are going to change
- 32:14Speaker 40: whether we like them or not. And the institutions of
- 32:19Speaker 40: the last century, the Fed, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' comp,
- 32:28Speaker 40: are not working anymore. And we cannot continue on this
- 32:32Speaker 40: path of indebtedness, personal, communal, national, because we cannot borrow
- 32:42Speaker 40: our way into prosperity. And so I changed the formula, Tony.
- 32:47Speaker 40: Rather than the.
- 32:50Speaker 39: Government....
- 32:51Speaker 40: Having a claim on our incomes by taxation and inflation,
- 33:00Speaker 40: which is stealth tax, I change the direction of the claim.
- 33:05Speaker 40: I say we, the people, should have a claim on
- 33:10Speaker 40: the assets and the resources and the economic value of
- 33:16Speaker 40: the work that we do.
- 33:19Speaker 1: It's I've been I've been on this network talking about
- 33:24Speaker 1: different concepts in different ways of looking at things. And
- 33:28Speaker 1: regardless of how one feels about the Trump administration, I think,
- 33:32Speaker 1: for example, like the baby bonds is probably the best
- 33:37Speaker 1: thing I've ever seen happen to children. Of course, politicians
- 33:39Speaker 1: hate it because it takes the bad out of their hands.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I mean, after all, what would life be without politicians?
- 33:45Speaker 1: But what you're really talking about is capitalizing the wealth
- 33:49Speaker 1: around us for us as opposed to we being constant
- 33:53Speaker 1: slaves to the machine.
- 33:55Speaker 40: That is precisely and exactly correct. The Trump accounts, the
- 34:02Speaker 40: baby accounts, are a wonderful start to make each child
- 34:07Speaker 40: a child. an owner of property because.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Rather than a debtor to the university debtor, that's right.
- 34:15Speaker 40: Rather than the government having a claim and the banks
- 34:19Speaker 40: with taxes and inflation for that child's entire life and
- 34:24Speaker 40: yours and mine on each of ours, we reverse the
- 34:27Speaker 40: formula and we capitalize the wealth of America, monetize it
- 34:33Speaker 40: and verify that. And that becomes the new dollar. So
- 34:38Speaker 40: rather than have the Fed be the issuer of the currency,
- 34:42Speaker 40: my idea is to revert to the Treasury. This was
- 34:47Speaker 40: Lincoln's idea. He started with greenbacks and have the Treasury
- 34:53Speaker 40: be the issuer of the money so that every dollar
- 34:56Speaker 40: you handle and that I handle. is in effect a
- 35:00Speaker 40: share of the wealth of America. And we move in
- 35:03Speaker 40: further than that and make grants into dedicated accounts and
- 35:09Speaker 40: endowment for each American so they then become capital owners
- 35:14Speaker 40: and receive capital incomes. Dividends, baby, just like the rich
- 35:18Speaker 40: people have an endowment and a trust. Everybody can have
- 35:23Speaker 40: an endowment of the wealth of America.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Unfortunately, we don't have an unending endowment of time. The book,
- 35:32Speaker 1: The Wealth of America, it's on Amazon, and it's $ 17.
- 35:38Speaker 39: 76.
- 35:39Speaker 1: The author, Jim Olente, you've really blessed our wonderful audience
- 35:46Speaker 1: here this morning.

- 38:03Speaker 41: the at the polo grounds believe it or not and
- 38:07Speaker 41: uh in 1954 tony on this day the famous willie
- 38:11Speaker 41: mays catch september 29 1954 tony You remember the Cleveland Indians,
- 38:18Speaker 41: Vic Wirtz, hit that 460-foot drive, and Mays actually ran
- 38:24Speaker 41: it down, Tony. It's one of the great catches, obviously.
- 38:27Speaker 41: He was known for his basket catch, but actually did
- 38:30Speaker 41: this backwards, correct?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and I remember, I think that was Joe Garagiola's
- 38:36Speaker 1: last year in baseball, and he was sitting in the
- 38:40Speaker 1: clubhouse watching the game on television, and he heard... a
- 38:45Speaker 1: lot of screaming outside, and he ran out. And when
- 38:49Speaker 1: you look at that picture, there's like, quote, unquote, who
- 38:53Speaker 1: is the man in the window of the clubhouse? Because
- 38:55Speaker 1: the clubhouse was in center field. And I think Joe
- 39:00Speaker 1: Garagiola said at one point, no, it wasn't me, it
- 39:02Speaker 1: was someone else.
- 39:04Speaker 2: But what he did.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Say was that that part of the catch which he
- 39:09Speaker 1: saw was Mays was on all fours after he had
- 39:12Speaker 1: thrown the ball back into the infield. He didn't see
- 39:14Speaker 1: the actual catch itself, but of course we've all seen
- 39:17Speaker 1: it on the movies for years.
- 39:19Speaker 41: Yeah, he actually made a great throw to keep runners
- 39:22Speaker 41: at bay, Tony, and that was a huge outfield. As
- 39:25Speaker 41: you remember at the Polo Grounds, it was a huge,
- 39:28Speaker 41: huge place in general. And three years later, Tony, at
- 39:32Speaker 41: the Polo Grounds, the Giants played their last game there.
- 39:35Speaker 41: They lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-1 that day. Of course,
- 39:40Speaker 41: the Mets would use it in 62 and 63, Tony,
- 39:43Speaker 41: but today was the last day the Giants used it,
- 39:47Speaker 41: and that was in 1954. In 1963, Tony, Stan Musial
- 39:54Speaker 41: played his final game, Tony, and actually he had two hits,
- 39:57Speaker 41: which doesn't surprise anybody. But the great Stan Musial had
- 40:01Speaker 41: a big day that day, Stan Musial Day. They honored
- 40:03Speaker 41: him before the game, and the rest is kind of history.
- 40:08Speaker 41: In 1967, Tony, do you remember the boxer Emile Griffith?
- 40:12Speaker 2: Oh, very well.
- 40:13Speaker 41: You know, a middle crown champion, right, Tony? He actually
- 40:18Speaker 41: fought at Shea Stadium. On this day in 1967, he
- 40:21Speaker 41: beat Italian Nino Benvenuti.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Those were really good fights.
- 40:26Speaker 41: Now, Benvenuti, they fought three times, Tony. Benvenuti won two
- 40:29Speaker 41: of them. But this one was the one where Griffith
- 40:33Speaker 41: actually regained the crown. It was a brawl. I mean,
- 40:36Speaker 41: all three fights, I think, were brawls.
- 40:38Speaker 1: And they were great friends.
- 40:40Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 40:40Speaker 41: Isn't that amazing? But that happened at Shea Stadium. There's
- 40:43Speaker 41: a lot going on in New York on this day.
- 40:45Speaker 34: And in 1969, Tony.
- 40:48Speaker 41: Our good friend Rico Petrucelli, he set the record hitting
- 40:52Speaker 41: his 40th home run. That was the most for a
- 40:54Speaker 41: shortstop at the time. You know, that was before the
- 40:56Speaker 41: days of A-Rod and the rest of these guys. But
- 40:59Speaker 41: that happened in 1969. In 1976, Tony, John Montefiusco of
- 41:05Speaker 41: the Giants, he threw a no-hitter against the Braves. And
- 41:08Speaker 41: in 1976, Tony, our other good friend Tommy Lasorda replaced
- 41:13Speaker 41: Walter Alston as the manager on this day. And you
- 41:15Speaker 41: remember Alston, Tony, he had the one-year contracts with the Dodgers.
- 41:19Speaker 41: He didn't believe in long-term deals, right?
- 41:22Speaker 1: No, it makes me think of Al Kaline, who would
- 41:26Speaker 1: not accept the 100th. Jim Campbell, the owner of the Tigers,
- 41:29Speaker 1: had to beg him to take $ 100, 000. And Al Kaline
- 41:32Speaker 1: would say, no, because once we start doing that, we
- 41:35Speaker 1: start to distort the values in society. I guess we're
- 41:38Speaker 1: so far down this road right now, it doesn't matter.
- 41:40Speaker 41: He'd be run out of the country right now, Tony.
- 41:43Speaker 41: At least the union, right?
- 41:44Speaker 43: He'd be run out.
- 41:45Speaker 12: No, Mr.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Campbell, I can't do it.
- 41:47Speaker 41: Yeah, football birthdays, Tony. Ken Norton, Jr. You remember his father, right?
- 41:52Speaker 41: But Ken Norton, Jr., who was a three-time Pro Bowler
- 41:55Speaker 41: in his own right and has three Super Bowl rings, Tony.
- 41:58Speaker 41: One with Dallas and two with San Francisco. Turned 60
- 42:02Speaker 41: years old today, believe it or not. And Calvin Johnson,
- 42:07Speaker 41: the Hall of Fame wide receiver. for the Detroit Lions.
- 42:11Speaker 41: You know, he did it right, Tony. He only played
- 42:13Speaker 41: nine years, but he got out of the NFL at
- 42:15Speaker 41: the age of 30. He had his legacy in place,
- 42:18Speaker 41: did not stick around and embarrass himself. He had 1,200
- 42:21Speaker 41: yards receiving in his final season. But Calvin Johnson, still
- 42:25Speaker 41: only a young guy at 41 years old today, Tony,
- 42:28Speaker 41: he celebrates a birthday. And Ray Buchanan, former defensive back,
- 42:34Speaker 41: had almost 50 picks in his career. In fact, he
- 42:37Speaker 41: had three pick sixes one year for the Colts. He
- 42:40Speaker 41: celebrates a birthday today. As far as baseball, Tony, I'm
- 42:43Speaker 41: going to read you a name that may make you cry.
- 42:46Speaker 41: Steve Busby celebrates a birthday today.
- 42:50Speaker 1: That man, I mean, when I was watching him when
- 42:53Speaker 1: he had his good years before he hurt his shoulder, Bob,
- 42:57Speaker 1: how many times have I told you? I said, this
- 42:59Speaker 1: is this generation's Don Drysdale.
- 43:02Speaker 41: Yeah, Tony, my father would tell me about him. I mean,
- 43:04Speaker 41: I was young when I was watching, but my father said,
- 43:07Speaker 41: that guy, you know, that guy. I mean, he came up, Tony,
- 43:10Speaker 41: in 72, only pitched five games. Three of them were
- 43:14Speaker 41: complete games, had an ERA of 150, and he said,
- 43:16Speaker 41: this guy is going to be something. He won 16
- 43:18Speaker 41: games the next.
- 43:19Speaker 35: Year, 22 in 74.
- 43:19Speaker 41: But, Tony, he had put 550 innings in. on himself
- 43:27Speaker 41: at the age of 24 there. And after that, he
- 43:30Speaker 41: did win 18 in 1975, but hurt his arm, Tony.
- 43:34Speaker 41: And then we know the rest of it. I mean,
- 43:36Speaker 41: just could not come back. And one of the sadder
- 43:39Speaker 41: stories in sports, Steve Busby, believe it or not, is
- 43:44Speaker 41: 77 years old today. As far as another guy you remember, Tony,
- 43:47Speaker 41: Warren Cromartie of the Expos. 73 years old today, 280
- 43:53Speaker 41: lifetime hitter, didn't strike out much, you know, just went
- 43:55Speaker 41: out and played the game, spent most of his career, 9,
- 43:59Speaker 41: 10 years with the Expos. He celebrates a birthday today.
- 44:02Speaker 41: And another guy you and I have talked about in
- 44:05Speaker 41: the past, Tony, Rob Deere. All or nothing at all, right?
- 44:08Speaker 41: Tony calls him a Sinatra guy.
- 44:10Speaker 39: All or nothing at all.
- 44:11Speaker 41: He's 66 years old. He either hit a home run
- 44:14Speaker 41: or he struck out, right, Tony?
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 44:18Speaker 41: He was striking out 180 times when that was not
- 44:21Speaker 41: the norm back in the 80s, you know, Tony. But
- 44:23Speaker 41: he hit 30 home runs a couple times. But Rob Deere, a.
- 44:27Speaker 41: 220 lifetime hitter, Tony, he probably would have fit right
- 44:30Speaker 41: in these days.
- 44:31Speaker 2: It is an amazing thing. Yeah.
- 44:35Speaker 1: You know, you think of people like that, and you
- 44:38Speaker 1: think of people like Gorbin Thomas and Dave Kingman, and
- 44:41Speaker 1: it was like, you know, you're either going to watch
- 44:44Speaker 1: strikeouts or home runs, and it was, I mean, if
- 44:47Speaker 1: nothing else, it was exciting.
- 44:48Speaker 41: Yeah, back then it was more of an entertainment that
- 44:51Speaker 41: these guys were in the lineup. Now it's like every
- 44:53Speaker 41: guy is like this, you know, and that's what baseball
- 44:56Speaker 41: is now. It's not, you know, entertainment. It's not loyalty.
- 45:00Speaker 41: It's all, you know, entertainment. Now it's not loyalty, so... But,
- 45:04Speaker 41: you know, the way the game has changed, Tony, it's
- 45:08Speaker 41: hard to watch. And you and I talk about it
- 45:10Speaker 41: almost daily.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Well, you know, I was listening on the way over here,
- 45:15Speaker 1: and I guess Don Mattingly has this idea with the
- 45:18Speaker 1: Phillies of using Kyle Schwarber to lead off. And I thought, gee,
- 45:24Speaker 1: that's very interesting. And I guess the idea is that
- 45:28Speaker 1: if you had the normal leadoff hitter who makes very
- 45:30Speaker 1: good contact, like three or four, he'll be able to
- 45:34Speaker 1: hit with a couple of runners on base kind of thing.
- 45:36Speaker 1: And I thought, gee, that's, that's pretty interesting stuff. But
- 45:39Speaker 1: I was mentioning to our, our, our board operator that the,
- 45:46Speaker 1: how could I put it? The Chicago Cubs had this idea.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I think it was like, I was a little kid
- 45:52Speaker 1: and it was like, we're not going to have a manager.
- 45:53Speaker 1: It's like these out of the box baseball ideas. We're
- 45:56Speaker 1: going to have 12 coaches and each coach are going
- 45:59Speaker 1: to divide the system, the season up into twelfths. And,
- 46:03Speaker 1: Each coach will run the team for two weeks, and
- 46:06Speaker 1: then you'll get another one, and then you'll get another one.
- 46:09Speaker 1: And they were horrible.
- 46:10Speaker 2: It was the worst idea.
- 46:11Speaker 41: It didn't work, I guess. So they shelved that idea.
- 46:13Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 2: They were horrible. Oh, my.
- 46:17Speaker 1: And I think it was, I don't know, it was
- 46:20Speaker 1: somebody must have gotten Phil Wrigley drunk or something.
- 46:23Speaker 2: I just don't understand it.
- 46:25Speaker 41: Well, he was chewing some gum.
- 46:29Speaker 2: But anyway.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Well, we are coming to an end of another segment. Bob,
- 46:34Speaker 1: where can we follow you during this busy time of sports?
- 46:38Speaker 41: Yeah, Tony, just go on the X. There's other websites,
- 46:41Speaker 41: but just go on the X now, and you'll see
- 46:43Speaker 41: a lot of interviews you and I did and a
- 46:45Speaker 41: lot of birthdays and et cetera, a lot of the
- 46:47Speaker 41: stuff that we did this morning you'll find on there.
- 46:49Speaker 2: It's all that.
- 46:50Speaker 1: That's the fun part of it. Bob Lazeri, sports.
- 46:52Speaker 39: Thank you, Bob.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Tony D'Angelo in for Lee Elsey, 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk.
- 46:57Speaker 2: We're coming back with the Power Hour. Bob Swick. right after.
- 47:05Speaker 25: This.
- 47:11Speaker 44: A very real meeting about artificial intelligence.
- 47:15Speaker 6: I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News.
- 47:17Speaker 44: At the White House, President Trump will have lunch with
- 47:20Speaker 44: House Speaker Mike Johnson and AI industry leaders amid worry.
- 47:23Speaker 44: AI could go out of control, prompting calls for more
- 47:25Speaker 44: regulations the president has pushed back on.
- 47:28Speaker 45: As OpenAI says it's canceling the release of its latest
- 47:31Speaker 45: model over safety concerns. The company's head of safety systems
- 47:35Speaker 45: writes this model called GPT-6.1 Astra, quote, didn't quite meet
- 47:40Speaker 45: the bar in terms of staying within scope and authorization
- 47:43Speaker 45: and how it communicates back to the user about this
- 47:46Speaker 45: type of work it's done. Over the past few months,
- 47:49Speaker 45: stories have emerged of AI agents escaping their test environments
- 47:52Speaker 45: to hack external systems.
- 47:54Speaker 6: Fox's Rich Henson.
- 47:55Speaker 44: This morning, the president posted on Truth Social a Senate
- 47:57Speaker 44: bill that passed with Republican and Democrat support 7722. is
- 48:01Speaker 44: a really big deal and will save college sports, setting
- 48:04Speaker 44: standards on NIL payments for student athletes and transfers. The
- 48:08Speaker 44: president is also optimistic about the Iran conflict. Fox's Jared
- 48:11Speaker 44: Halpern is at the White House.
- 48:12Speaker 46: U.S.
- 48:12Speaker 47: And Iranian negotiators are continuing to talk through mediators. Speaking
- 48:17Speaker 47: to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump says Iran
- 48:20Speaker 47: will never develop a nuclear weapon.
- 48:22Speaker 48: As soon as that war ends, inflation is going to
- 48:24Speaker 48: be eradicated totally.
- 48:27Speaker 47: The president says gas prices will also fall, though he
- 48:30Speaker 47: has suggested that may not happen until after the midterm elections.
- 48:35Speaker 44: Well, those are five weeks away, and the price of
- 48:36Speaker 44: regular gas and diesel both down two cents today. There's
- 48:39Speaker 44: a hearing today in the Lindsay Clancy murder case in
- 48:41Speaker 44: Massachusetts weeks after a mistrial. The holdout juror, who Clancy's
- 48:45Speaker 44: lawyer once investigated for misconduct, Michael Desronville, tells Fox's Hannity
- 48:49Speaker 44: the focus should be on the three children Clancy killed.
- 48:52Speaker 10: The ones that can't speak for themselves. the ones that
- 48:55Speaker 10: can't defend themselves, and the ones that can't fight the battles.
- 48:58Speaker 44: Does Rundville refuse to go along with the other jurors
- 49:01Speaker 44: to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity? America's

- 54:50Speaker 1: no holds barred, Professor Bob Swick.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Bob, how are you, pal?
- 54:55Speaker 35: I'm good. Thanks for having me on this morning.
- 54:57Speaker 2: So where do we go today?
- 54:59Speaker 35: Well, I want to follow up a little with your
- 55:01Speaker 35: opening monologue this morning, which was excellent. We're looking at
- 55:06Speaker 35: something that really... I have difficulty understanding the Connecticut Democrat
- 55:13Speaker 35: Party's love for those people who are here illegally in
- 55:18Speaker 35: our country, in our state, and just trying to take
- 55:22Speaker 35: all the emotion out of This whole debate and why
- 55:26Speaker 35: we're even having this debate is beyond me. But let's
- 55:30Speaker 35: just take all the emotion out of the debate. Okay,
- 55:33Speaker 35: you break a law in our society, and I guess
- 55:35Speaker 35: I'm old-fashioned, because if you break a law in our society,
- 55:40Speaker 35: you get arrested, you may go to court, you may
- 55:43Speaker 35: have to serve a prison sentence, pay a fine, so
- 55:47Speaker 35: on and so forth. I just don't understand how the
- 55:51Speaker 35: whole narrative has now changed 360 degrees that if you
- 55:57Speaker 35: do commit a crime, it's fine, it's no big deal,
- 56:00Speaker 35: we'll let you go without any bond, we'll let you
- 56:02Speaker 35: go without any prison sentence, we'll slap you on your
- 56:06Speaker 35: wrist and just say, listen, please don't do that again.
- 56:09Speaker 35: And then you get back out and you rob again,
- 56:13Speaker 35: you steal again, you steal a car, whatever the case
- 56:16Speaker 35: may be, you shoplift. You sell illegal drugs, so on
- 56:22Speaker 35: and so forth. I don't understand that. And I'm still
- 56:26Speaker 35: trying to rationalize in Connecticut. You passed a law that
- 56:29Speaker 35: should have been invalidated immediately because you can't, as you said,
- 56:34Speaker 35: can't supersede the federal law.
- 56:35Speaker 41: This is the federal law.
- 56:36Speaker 35: The ICE are doing their job. And to see the bedlam,
- 56:42Speaker 35: the total irrational behavior by these paid protesters... It borders
- 56:50Speaker 35: on comedy rather than anything serious. So my real deep
- 56:56Speaker 35: dive into this whole thing, and I'm starting to really believe,
- 57:00Speaker 35: and again, I'm not a conspiracy theory type person, but
- 57:05Speaker 35: I'm really believing that a lot of these people are
- 57:09Speaker 35: voting in Connecticut. And this is a great source of
- 57:13Speaker 35: votes for the Connecticut Democratic Party. And so they can
- 57:17Speaker 35: prove otherwise by, you know, allowing the feds to look
- 57:21Speaker 35: at the voter records and letting ICE do their job
- 57:25Speaker 35: with these people who they are trying to get out
- 57:28Speaker 35: of the country for a variety of reasons, all within
- 57:30Speaker 35: the law of the United States. I really can't think
- 57:36Speaker 35: of any other reason why they are doing and their
- 57:40Speaker 35: obsession and their love for people who break the law
- 57:44Speaker 35: It just is the overriding factor, and it's turning into
- 57:47Speaker 35: being the overriding factor in this election to a large degree.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Well, I guess my struggle since time immemorial is why
- 57:55Speaker 1: wouldn't we collectively want a reliable, transparent count? You know,
- 58:03Speaker 1: why is there— well, let us work— I mean, why can't we
- 58:07Speaker 1: at least agree on we want all the votes to
- 58:09Speaker 1: be counted, we want all the votes to be legitimate—
- 58:12Speaker 1: We want all the votes to be, you know, shall
- 58:15Speaker 1: we say, auditable and clear where there is no doubt
- 58:18Speaker 1: whatsoever that Mr.
- 58:19Speaker 7: Charlie.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Lost the race or ran.
- 58:23Speaker 1: But the minute you raise this thing of there's illegals,
- 58:27Speaker 1: it's like, well, you know, we've we're not going to
- 58:30Speaker 1: comply and we're going to fundraise off the fact that
- 58:33Speaker 1: we're not going to comply.
- 58:35Speaker 2: And how dare you do this to me?
- 58:37Speaker 1: I mean, you know, as an aside to that, Bob,
- 58:39Speaker 1: I didn't mention it this morning.
- 58:40Speaker 35: Besides being ethically wrong and besides being making a mockery
- 58:46Speaker 35: of our voting system in Connecticut, I really think that
- 58:50Speaker 35: someone of power really needs to address this once and
- 58:54Speaker 35: for all. Either you have a clean election or you
- 58:58Speaker 35: don't have a clean election. And again, if Bridgeport's any
- 59:01Speaker 35: example in our state, Bridgeport is the poster child for
- 59:07Speaker 35: you know, bad elections, fraudulent elections, elections where people are
- 59:13Speaker 35: in court waiting trial, so on and so forth. And
- 59:16Speaker 35: to try to say and try to twist it around, oh,
- 59:19Speaker 35: you know, there's a few bad apples here and there. Well, no,
- 59:21Speaker 35: I think there's a lot of bad apples, especially in
- 59:24Speaker 35: the Connecticut Democratic Party. perpetuating this myth of an honest
- 59:29Speaker 35: election and perpetuating this myth that somehow these illegal aliens
- 59:34Speaker 35: have more rights than taxpaying Connecticut legal citizens. And I
- 59:38Speaker 35: think that's what's starting to really impact the election, contrary
- 59:42Speaker 35: to what you read about or if you want to
- 59:45Speaker 35: read any of it in the state-run media. But I
- 59:47Speaker 35: really think it's starting to really hit raw nerves with
- 59:50Speaker 35: a lot of people, especially those people who are waking
- 59:53Speaker 35: up You know, they get ready, they go to work,
- 59:55Speaker 35: they put in their eight, nine, ten hours a day.
- 59:58Speaker 35: They come home, some of them go to work to
- 1:00:00Speaker 35: another part-time job or they have a weekend job. They're
- 1:00:02Speaker 35: trying to make ends meet. And here's the state of
- 1:00:05Speaker 35: Connecticut basically doing whatever they possibly can do with your
- 1:00:10Speaker 35: tax money to try to placate these people and placate
- 1:00:15Speaker 35: these paid protesters. You know, I would love to see
- 1:00:18Speaker 35: these paid protesters be put to work in our society
- 1:00:22Speaker 35: and help people.
- 1:00:23Speaker 43: But they're not.
- 1:00:24Speaker 35: You know, how do you call this, you know, you're
- 1:00:28Speaker 35: right to protest. So what are you protesting? You don't
- 1:00:31Speaker 35: want any laws. You don't want any rules. You don't want,
- 1:00:34Speaker 35: you want to basically a free-for-all society where we go
- 1:00:39Speaker 35: back to the Wild West. We don't like you. We
- 1:00:41Speaker 35: shoot you, and that's it.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: What really, and I didn't mention this this morning, but
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: this really got me, and this is the time of
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: the year, at least for me, when you, take out
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: some of the worst movies or the worst Halloween movies
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: you've ever seen. I don't go in for like the
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: really bloody gory things. I like things that were done
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: that were, you know, maybe they were like, I love
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: the Ed Wood movies and things like that. But when
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I was watching the, shall we say, the paid protesters
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: or the rapid response team in Meriden, they were mostly
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: people my age or older. In other words, our chicky
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: babe days are quite behind us. And they're getting in
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: the way of the, you know, they're standing there. They're
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: getting in the way. Now, curiously enough, you know, I
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: think lost on this whole debate is I'm observing the
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: behavior of most of the marshals. I understand there's a
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: couple of marshals that got wise with the federal people.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Not a good thing to do, people.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: But one guy comes out with his coffee cup like, gee,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: it's a sunny day out here. They weren't going to
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: stand in the way of this. I mean, you know,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: they know how the bread is buttered, at least the
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: most part of them. Then there was one case where
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you can't really see, but a female marshal pushed on
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: the door to let the ice people go, which, you know,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: basically she wants this whole scene to be over with.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: This is where I would be. And this is where
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: the very slight blonde-haired woman got knocked to the ground or.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Took a dive. Take your pick. But all of that,
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: I said all this to say this.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: They've got their phones up and they're recording and they're
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: all chanting in unison.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: It's against the law. It's against the law. It's against
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: the law.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: And Bob, all I could really think of is what
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: is this night of the living dead 2026? It's like
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: they're there like a bunch of program zombies. And bring
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: that over. Bring that over to, quote, unquote, the media.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: And do you think there would be a public service announcement? gee, people,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: if this comes to your neighborhood, frankly, stay the hell
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: out of the way.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no. It's this great discussion. We
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:02:54Speaker 35: Well, it is the living zombies again because these people
- 1:02:59Speaker 35: choose to be living zombies. They're not understanding what they're
- 1:03:02Speaker 35: even protesting. I mean, they're so anti-President Trump. They're so anti-establishment.
- 1:03:09Speaker 35: They're so anti-whatever. And they need the extra cash because
- 1:03:13Speaker 35: they live in Connecticut, and they need extra money because
- 1:03:16Speaker 35: it's so— costly to live in the state. You know,
- 1:03:19Speaker 35: let's call, let's really just start calling it for what
- 1:03:21Speaker 35: it is. It's a part-time job for a lot of
- 1:03:24Speaker 35: these people. They really think they're doing a great job. They're,
- 1:03:27Speaker 35: you know, young people are probably, you know, cheering them on,
- 1:03:30Speaker 35: so on and so forth. Hey, if I fall down
- 1:03:32Speaker 35: and break my back, no big deal. I did it
- 1:03:34Speaker 35: for the cause. Well, what's the cause? To break my back?
- 1:03:37Speaker 35: Is the cause to create more of a uncontrollable society
- 1:03:43Speaker 35: so that one day More innocent people are going to
- 1:03:48Speaker 35: be victims of crime and robbery and rape and so
- 1:03:51Speaker 35: on and so forth. You know, I really think, again,
- 1:03:55Speaker 35: I reiterate over and over again, why are we letting
- 1:04:01Speaker 35: this happen? We are trying to address the situation. President
- 1:04:05Speaker 35: Trump's done an excellent job trying to clean the country up,
- 1:04:08Speaker 35: trying to clean up, you know, these people who are
- 1:04:11Speaker 35: here illegally. Let the job be done. See what the
- 1:04:14Speaker 35: final analysis is of it. And again, it can never
- 1:04:19Speaker 35: happen that way, because it's a Trump-based concept. ICE, all
- 1:04:24Speaker 35: of a sudden, is a Trump-based concept. And the laws
- 1:04:28Speaker 35: that protect ICE were created somehow by Trump at the
- 1:04:32Speaker 35: same time. I'm just sick of the disinformation. I'm sick
- 1:04:36Speaker 35: of the lies. You're sick of the lies. So many
- 1:04:39Speaker 35: people are just sick of it. And again, you're recording it. Okay,
- 1:04:42Speaker 35: so what are you going to do with it? You're
- 1:04:44Speaker 35: going to show it to President Trump? You're going to
- 1:04:46Speaker 35: show it to Ned LeMond? He's going to give you
- 1:04:47Speaker 35: simply a $ 20 bill on the side for it?
- 1:04:50Speaker 24: I mean, come on.
- 1:04:52Speaker 35: Let's call this out as how ridiculous it is. And
- 1:04:56Speaker 35: let's call it out that it's illegal once and for all.
- 1:04:59Speaker 35: Let ICE do their job and be done with it.
- 1:05:02Speaker 35: And you know what? If they were so law-abiding, they
- 1:05:04Speaker 35: would have tried to get into this country legally, and
- 1:05:07Speaker 35: they would not be breaking any of our laws. How's that?
- 1:05:11Speaker 35: Has anyone said that on either side.
- 1:05:12Speaker 41: Of the aisle?
- 1:05:13Speaker 12: No, sir.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: No, sir.
- 1:05:14Speaker 39: No, sir.
- 1:05:16Speaker 35: Well, I just said it. So why can't they say it?
- 1:05:18Speaker 35: I mean, this is what really bothers me. And I think, again,
- 1:05:21Speaker 35: I reiterate, I think there are a lot of people
- 1:05:23Speaker 35: at their breaking point with this. And I just hope
- 1:05:26Speaker 35: this doesn't turn bad for the paid protesters that, you know,
- 1:05:30Speaker 35: you've got some wild people on the other side saying,
- 1:05:32Speaker 35: you know, we had it. We don't want to put
- 1:05:35Speaker 35: up with this garbage anymore. Let the people do their job.
- 1:05:38Speaker 35: Let our country do their job. become more law-abiding, get
- 1:05:42Speaker 35: the criminals out, let's live in peace. Why do we
- 1:05:45Speaker 35: have to live under the threat of all this garbage?
- 1:05:48Speaker 35: Because you want it? Because you're a paid protest? It's sickening.
- 1:05:52Speaker 35: It's really sickening.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Well, how can I put it?
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: We can philosophize about the purpose of government. There's many
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: people that believe, many Republicans that believe, many Republicans in
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: this state that believe that Government is somehow supposed to
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: be this panacea, this social service agency, father to the fatherless, help.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: The widow in her need, and, and, and.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: And I'm not saying government should not provide any help,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: but it's just become this thing of, you know, government
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: is the great provider. And what you get generally with
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Republicans in many, many cases is government is the great provider,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: you know, white, white version. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: what is government supposed to do? And Bob, to me,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: the biggest function of government is to protect its people,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: protect its people from harm, protect its people from needless harm.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: And as you've said, every week that we've done the
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Power Hour, protect people in the gainful pursuit of wanting
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: to live their lives and ease their burdens. But basically,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: what we get is... No, we don't have that. We
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: have this philosophizing after it. Well, look at this horrible
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: thing that went on. We must process this. And it's like,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: why can't the damned government just say, why can't the
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Republican Party in this state just get together? Again, once again,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: got to say it, the Republican Party in this state
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, get out there
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: and say, look, this is wrong.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: This is bad.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Democrats want to kill you. They've got Marxist tendencies. If
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: you can't say the word Marxist, stop it enough. We
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: don't want this. We don't want the bad people in
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: this state that would hurt us.
- 1:07:42Speaker 35: The people of Connecticut deserve a peaceful life.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: For this tax rate, you better believe it.
- 1:07:49Speaker 35: They do not need to live in fear constantly, as
- 1:07:52Speaker 35: they have to do right now. And the Democratic Party,
- 1:07:56Speaker 35: with their convoluted laws, their irrational gibberish they come out
- 1:08:00Speaker 35: with all the time, are the ones creating this fear.
- 1:08:04Speaker 47: Always.
- 1:08:04Speaker 35: Always.
- 1:08:06Speaker 30: Always.
- 1:08:08Speaker 35: And the problem has to be resolved by having a
- 1:08:14Speaker 35: stronger voice on the other side saying, no, we want
- 1:08:17Speaker 35: peace and we want quiet. We don't want fear. We
- 1:08:20Speaker 35: don't want your car being taken at night even though
- 1:08:23Speaker 35: it's locked up. We don't want you to be robbed
- 1:08:26Speaker 35: at gunpoint when you pump gas at 10 o'clock at
- 1:08:29Speaker 35: night on your way home from work. That has to
- 1:08:32Speaker 35: stop in the state of Connecticut. And it needs to
- 1:08:35Speaker 35: stop over the next 30 days by communicating in an
- 1:08:40Speaker 35: effective means of saying, once and for all, we're on
- 1:08:43Speaker 35: your side, guys. We're not on the side of the enemy.
- 1:08:46Speaker 35: And it has to come out of the Republican Party's
- 1:08:48Speaker 35: every candidate running for office.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: And, you know, it's this whole thing of how could
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: I put it in talking to some of the, shall
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: we say, people on the higher end of that food chain.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: And this is the thing. I don't understand it.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: They are told that this is, quote, unquote, a low
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: threshold issue. People don't want to really get to that.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Other issues are more important. I'm saying to myself, what
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: can be more important than public safety and respect for
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: national law? Now, again, you don't like national law. You
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: change the law, but yet this national law here is
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: not allowing people that shouldn't be here to do God
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: knows what, to rape your daughter, to do something horrible.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: And that's not to say every single person coming over
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the border is bad, but you've got to draw the
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: line somewhere. And when you get control of it, then
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: you can decide, okay, are there some mitigating circumstances? And
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: this is the thing, I was thinking about this on
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the way down. government, when it wants to, can have
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: streamlined procedures in just about everything. I mean, I must
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: rental in like three or four of them in a month.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: There's a streamlined procedure for foreign tax compliance. You didn't
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: do everything okay. If you do everything right and you
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: pay everything, we're not going to go after you if
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: you prove legitimacy. Here we have a chance to prove
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: legitimacy to the legitimate and, like, Nobody wants to touch it.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: It's just– and we're going to have these same messes
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: and these zombied-out people coming up.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: You're breaking the law. You're breaking the law.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: It's like– what I'm probably saying is garble, but enough
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: is enough is enough.
- 1:10:33Speaker 35: They don't want to change it for the simple reason–
- 1:10:38Speaker 35: excuse me. They don't want to change it for the
- 1:10:40Speaker 35: simple reason they're using it to their political advantage by
- 1:10:44Speaker 35: striking fear in all these people that somehow these people
- 1:10:47Speaker 35: should be here even though they're breaking the law. and
- 1:10:49Speaker 35: you're wrong with wanting to question it. And it ties into,
- 1:10:54Speaker 35: in a lot of cases, the DSA, you know, platform,
- 1:10:59Speaker 35: which is basically, you know, pure socialism.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: A very wise man on Twitter we were talking, he's
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: an ex-Marine sergeant, he was telling me, you know, Tony,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: what they will do is they'll take that woman getting
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: knocked to the ground in Meriden and and they'll do
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: a voiceover of it, and this will be a narrative for,

- 1:21:48Speaker 55: Brought to you by Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, where
- 1:21:51Speaker 55: members bank better. So the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry is one
- 1:21:54Speaker 55: of the most storied in all of sports. And it's
- 1:21:57Speaker 55: filled with tradition and iconic moments. Not to mention a
- 1:22:00Speaker 55: sheer hatred for one another between players, fans, and cities. However,
- 1:22:05Speaker 55: the Sox and Yankees have only met in the postseason
- 1:22:08Speaker 55: a total of six times.
- 1:22:09Speaker 25: Seven if you want to include.
- 1:22:11Speaker 12: The 1978 American League East tiebreaker game.
- 1:22:14Speaker 55: And each franchise has three series wins. But tonight, one
- 1:22:17Speaker 55: of the greatest rivalries in sports history gets renewed, when
- 1:22:21Speaker 55: just like they did last year, they'll both play in
- 1:22:23Speaker 55: a best-of-three wildcard series. And whenever these two teams play
- 1:22:27Speaker 55: in the postseason, they produce plenty of melodrama. The Bucky Dents,
- 1:22:31Speaker 55: the Pedro Martinez's, the Aaron.
- 1:22:33Speaker 12: Boone's, the Dave Roberts.
- 1:22:34Speaker 55: And I have no doubt that this latest chapter in
- 1:22:37Speaker 55: their rivalry is bound to produce another. First pitch tonight's
- 1:22:40Speaker 55: at 8 p.m. with more than just a score. I'm

- 1:24:12Speaker 18: I'm Sean Murphy. When news breaks, we break in.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony D'Angelo in. on the
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Lee Elsie Show. It is Tuesday, September 29th, 2026. Today's
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: weather is cloudy, sunny, high 70s. You can't pipe sunshine
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: to us here in the Northeast. But back with Professor
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Bob Swick for the second remaining half of the Power Hour.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: And we burned up the airwaves on that. Any place
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: you want to take that or go from here, Bob?
- 1:24:47Speaker 35: Well, I think we pretty much... everything we could talk
- 1:24:51Speaker 35: about over the ICE incident in Meriden. And I think
- 1:24:54Speaker 35: it would really behoove our elected officials to truly understand
- 1:24:59Speaker 35: that the promotion of violence like that, the promotion of
- 1:25:04Speaker 35: keeping people here illegally is wrong. It's a violation of
- 1:25:09Speaker 35: the federal law, whether they like it or not. There's
- 1:25:11Speaker 35: no trust in the Trust Act whatsoever. And let's try
- 1:25:15Speaker 35: to make Connecticut a little safer and So, again, the
- 1:25:19Speaker 35: people who want to live in peace and quiet are
- 1:25:21Speaker 35: allowed to. They have just as much legal right, as
- 1:25:25Speaker 35: far as I'm concerned and as far as many are concerned,
- 1:25:28Speaker 35: as those people that are here illegally who technically don't
- 1:25:32Speaker 35: have the legal right to be here. And that's the
- 1:25:35Speaker 35: last thing I'm going to say about that. But, again,
- 1:25:37Speaker 35: keeping with the tone of Connecticut and the lack of
- 1:25:40Speaker 35: transparency in Connecticut and lies being truths and truths being
- 1:25:44Speaker 35: lies– I guess I stirred up a storm on X
- 1:25:49Speaker 35: last week and partly in my blog this past Saturday
- 1:25:54Speaker 35: with wondering why there is no issuing or talk about
- 1:26:01Speaker 35: Lamont's tax returns. We haven't seen anything in several years now.
- 1:26:07Speaker 35: And I think that at election time, many people are
- 1:26:11Speaker 35: probably curious, okay, how much does the governor actually make?
- 1:26:16Speaker 35: And does somehow any of this money coordinate through many
- 1:26:22Speaker 35: of the different funds that are given taxpayers' money to
- 1:26:27Speaker 35: various state agencies in Connecticut and are somehow tied to
- 1:26:31Speaker 35: his family's hedge fund? And, you know, the Democrats take
- 1:26:36Speaker 35: the classic, you know, stance, oh, there's nothing to see here,
- 1:26:41Speaker 35: there's nothing wrong. We want to see Fazio's uh... statements
- 1:26:45Speaker 35: of what i'm sure it be more than happy to
- 1:26:47Speaker 35: to to show them alone i'm sure he's not hiding
- 1:26:50Speaker 35: anything but why is it so difficult for the governor
- 1:26:54Speaker 35: to issue bids okay and i just find it very
- 1:26:57Speaker 35: very ironic in connecticut there's a governor's standard which is
- 1:27:02Speaker 35: the filing of the annual statements of financial interest by
- 1:27:06Speaker 35: all persons in the executive branch and quasi public agencies who,
- 1:27:12Speaker 35: and I'm reading this right from the state website, who
- 1:27:14Speaker 35: exercise significant policymaking, regulatory or contractual authority, significant decisions-making and
- 1:27:21Speaker 35: or supervisory responsibility for the review and or award of
- 1:27:25Speaker 35: state contracts, or significant decision-making and or supervisory responsibility over
- 1:27:31Speaker 35: staff to monitor state contracts. All right, so correct me
- 1:27:35Speaker 35: if I'm wrong, because maybe I'm being ignorant here. Doesn't
- 1:27:39Speaker 35: Ned Lamont fall into that category? Yes or no?
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: I believe he does.
- 1:27:44Speaker 35: If he doesn't, then I feel that that whole statue
- 1:27:49Speaker 35: and that Lamont, that governor's standard is null and void.
- 1:27:54Speaker 35: And then just one real quick tying in with this.
- 1:27:58Speaker 35: None of this is information you can find anywhere. You
- 1:28:02Speaker 35: have to file a Freedom of Information Act request to
- 1:28:08Speaker 35: or the person you would want to see what they filed,
- 1:28:13Speaker 35: so on and so forth. And as both you and
- 1:28:15Speaker 35: I know, Tony, our experiences with them over the years,
- 1:28:20Speaker 35: you're never going to get the information. So I find
- 1:28:24Speaker 35: great irony that, okay, you're in charge of this program,
- 1:28:29Speaker 35: but we can't see your income tax statements, nor can
- 1:28:31Speaker 35: we see any of these forms. So what's the point
- 1:28:34Speaker 35: of it? It's just hot air. That's about it.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: Well, let's go back to the actual record.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Ned Lamont has never, ever shown the public his tax return.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: He made a reference to the amount of income he
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: earned in a particular year, memory serving, I think it
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: was 2021.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: Nothing since then.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: And he said, oh, and this year I made $ 54 million.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: And from what I could gather, and it was very sketchy,
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: it was him more or less with a deck of
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: cards or his people dealing tax returns to members of
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: his state-run media apparatchiks saying, well, here it is.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: This is what I've got.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: Scribble down the notes. Times up, pencils down, give those
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: back to me. There's never been any publication of that.
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: And there hasn't been. So it was just a news report.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: There has not been anything since. So, of course, the
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: obvious thing is, well, what are you hiding? Why won't
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: you show this? We know you're a rich guy. Most
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: people in Connecticut can deal. Most people in the world
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: can deal with a rich politician, providing the politician does
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: what's right. Nelson Rockefeller was rich. You know, there were
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: several others who were, you know, quite endowed, but they
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: managed to get reelected every single year. And by doing,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: you know, the best that they could. So now you've got,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: you know, this whole thing of, well, like, why are
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: you hiding? Now, the other thing is, you know, as
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: you say, it's like, well, let me get a copy
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: of whatever disclosures you have on one Edward Minor Lamont. And, uh,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: you know, something will come trickling, trickling in and, uh,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: it's maybe you'll, you know, you'll see it with some
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: redactions and, or this, and it is a very sketchy form.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: It's like, I have this, but it does not ask
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: you like, are there, there is one question that says,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: are anybody dealing with the state or you or your
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: spouse or this or that? And he can comfortably say there, no,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: my spouse does not deal with the state, but, but, but, but, but, um,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: That form or that law or that provision does not
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: take into account what if your spouse owns a partnership,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: a hedge fund, an offshore vehicle. That form does not
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: do that. So she could say, no, no, no, no,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: I don't. But like a partnership really, you know, you
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: figure this out like I think it's accounting 201. I
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: know you're an accounting teacher. A partnership really is a
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: legal fiction. You might have an agreement and such like that,
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: but a partnership is really the sum of its partners.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: The partner is the partnership. The partner bears the partnership.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: So isn't that a very clever workaround? I'll just take
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: whatever I do. I'll take Semaphore. I'll take Digital Currency Group.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: I'll take Tidal River Fund or whatever in the heck
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: else I'm not going to tell you about. I will
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: put that in a partnership. I do not have to
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: disclose it. And I'm sitting there, Bob, and I'm saying, hey,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: wait a minute. Number one, this is like the biggest
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: dodge since the dart. Number two. you would think that
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: there would be legislators of whatever side, if Donald Trump
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: were the governor in Connecticut, if he were the governor,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: there'd be some Democrats saying, well, you.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: Know, Melania's got the, we need to find out what's there.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: It's like, well, why don't you change the damn law
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: to take everything into account? And none of them want
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: to do it. And Lamont has milked this cow for
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: the eight or nine years he's been there. And nobody
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: wants to make a move to change it.
- 1:32:22Speaker 35: And why is that? Because they're so fearful of him.
- 1:32:25Speaker 35: He wields that much power in Hartford. He's promising all
- 1:32:29Speaker 35: these side jobs or contracts or whatever the case may be.
- 1:32:34Speaker 35: You really got to wonder why he cannot discuss his income.
- 1:32:42Speaker 35: And I don't buy the argument, and a lot of
- 1:32:44Speaker 35: people in Connecticut no longer buy the argument. You know,
- 1:32:46Speaker 35: you Everything is my wife's. My wife handles it, so
- 1:32:51Speaker 35: on and so forth. We've proven, Tony, you've spoken at
- 1:32:57Speaker 35: length about SEMA for how many years? There was financial gain.
- 1:33:03Speaker 35: There is now no record anywhere that you could find
- 1:33:08Speaker 35: that they had anything to do with it because they
- 1:33:10Speaker 35: wiped the slate clean. So as they probably have wiped
- 1:33:14Speaker 35: the slate clean and all these other companies we've mentioned
- 1:33:17Speaker 35: over the years at the same time and that is
- 1:33:20Speaker 35: wrong and and connect the taxpayers my opinion of being
- 1:33:23Speaker 35: ripped off if their governor is using these contracts for
- 1:33:27Speaker 35: their for his family's financial bank i don't care it's
- 1:33:31Speaker 35: a rip-off and in a state as badly in debt
- 1:33:35Speaker 35: as connecticut is with as much uh... short and long-term
- 1:33:39Speaker 35: debt and unfunded liabilities that it has any penny taken
- 1:33:43Speaker 35: that could have been paying down that debt is a
- 1:33:46Speaker 35: ripoff of the Connecticut taxpayer, in plain English.
- 1:33:49Speaker 41: That's it. So he obviously has.
- 1:33:51Speaker 35: Something to hide, because if he didn't have anything to hide,
- 1:33:54Speaker 35: he'd be talking about it, and this would be a
- 1:33:56Speaker 35: major issue, in my opinion, in this campaign. Ned, just
- 1:34:01Speaker 35: publish your stuff, explain it, let taxpayers see it. If
- 1:34:06Speaker 35: you have nothing to hide, they realize you make a
- 1:34:08Speaker 35: lot of money every year. Be honest about it. But
- 1:34:11Speaker 35: now we're going to get the old, oh, shucks, no,
- 1:34:14Speaker 35: nothing there. You know, don't worry about it, so on
- 1:34:17Speaker 35: and so forth. You know, Trump's forcing me to, you know,
- 1:34:20Speaker 35: you want Trump to force me to do something, blah, blah, blah. And,
- 1:34:24Speaker 35: you know, it seconds me. The Connecticut taxpayers have to,
- 1:34:29Speaker 35: you know, live in these conditions where you have a
- 1:34:32Speaker 35: governor who is so non-transparent, does not discuss anything he
- 1:34:37Speaker 35: doesn't want to discuss, lies through his feet, and you've
- 1:34:41Speaker 35: got to put up with it. And for what reason?
- 1:34:44Speaker 35: You know, he's the emperor. You know, the unaccountable emperor
- 1:34:48Speaker 35: of the state of Connecticut. This is his ruling land,
- 1:34:51Speaker 35: the whole state.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Well, it's 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony D'Angelo on
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: with Bob Swick in the Power Hour.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: The thing, how could I put it?
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: My dancing teacher mother would always say, you know, it
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: takes two to tango. You have this conduct from team
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Lamont for years and the reciprocal conduct, if you will,
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: that should be one of stop enough. This is, we've
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: got to have higher standards. We can't have people even
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: with an inkling of trading on.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: The state nickel. It's bad.
- 1:35:31Speaker 39: It's run.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Our ethics laws are weak. Our ethics department is a joke.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: People have been through this with me since time immemorial and,
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: change the law, disclose everything, stop shaking and jaking the public. But, Bob,
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: it's like, who's talking about that from the opposite side?
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: Bob Swick is. Tony D'Angelo is. The folks on Twitter are.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: The Republicans are like, hummina, hummina, hummina. It's like, I
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: get tired of fighting their fights for them.
- 1:35:58Speaker 40: Exactly.
- 1:35:58Speaker 35: And I'm tired, too. And, again, why do we allow
- 1:36:04Speaker 35: levels of corruption in government? Why?
- 1:36:07Speaker 28: Why?
- 1:36:08Speaker 35: To perpetuate other people's profits, to perpetuate politically connected people,
- 1:36:15Speaker 35: politically connected cronies, get that state contract, give them this,
- 1:36:19Speaker 35: give them the no-bid consulting contract for a report that's
- 1:36:24Speaker 35: totally essential because you need the $ 250, 000, as with the
- 1:36:27Speaker 35: Cardona contract. I mean, the list is endless, which is
- 1:36:33Speaker 35: why I brought me to the second point I wanted
- 1:36:35Speaker 35: to make. in the relationship to all this, a couple
- 1:36:40Speaker 35: people asked me straight out, do you think part of
- 1:36:43Speaker 35: our state debt, which I talk about all the time,
- 1:36:46Speaker 35: I've been talking about it for 20 years now.
- 1:36:48Speaker 39: Decades.
- 1:36:50Speaker 35: Do you think part of the state debt is paralleling
- 1:36:54Speaker 35: our national debt, where a lot of the federal national
- 1:36:57Speaker 35: debt is because of fraud? And I came right out
- 1:37:01Speaker 35: and said, yeah, I believe so. I, again, trying to find,
- 1:37:05Speaker 35: you know, trace all these contracts, so on and so forth.
- 1:37:08Speaker 35: We don't have a handle on how many no-bid state
- 1:37:11Speaker 35: contracts are given without payment terms. In other words, the
- 1:37:15Speaker 35: company goes under, they don't owe the state any money,
- 1:37:18Speaker 35: they just write it off, so on and so forth.
- 1:37:20Speaker 35: You don't see any of that. So out of the,
- 1:37:23Speaker 35: and again, I don't have an accurate figure, contrary to
- 1:37:26Speaker 35: what the state government publishes, As far as what the
- 1:37:29Speaker 35: actual short, long-term debt and unfunded liabilities are for the
- 1:37:32Speaker 35: state of Connecticut, I believe they're between $ 100 and $ 150 billion,
- 1:37:37Speaker 35: contrary to what they say that may be only $ 50
- 1:37:39Speaker 35: billion or $ 100 billion or whatever. When you have $ 50
- 1:37:41Speaker 35: billion in unfunded liabilities, you easily have in all your
- 1:37:46Speaker 35: debt close to $ 100 billion. So that's how I.
- 1:37:49Speaker 43: Come up with those figures.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: In the wonder of compound interest, yeah.
- 1:37:53Speaker 35: And I'm coming to the conclusion, and I'm being very
- 1:37:56Speaker 35: conservative about it, that probably 30 percent of that debt
- 1:38:02Speaker 35: is due to fraud in state government because it's been
- 1:38:05Speaker 35: escalating out of control for the past 35 years. The
- 1:38:10Speaker 35: state spends an incredible sum of money every year for
- 1:38:14Speaker 35: a state as small as Connecticut and with as few
- 1:38:17Speaker 35: population as Connecticut, so on and so forth. It has
- 1:38:20Speaker 35: a burdensome bureaucracy that is just tied in all these
- 1:38:24Speaker 35: different places, so on and so forth. We've seen a
- 1:38:27Speaker 35: lot of nonprofit scandals this year. That's probably only the
- 1:38:31Speaker 35: tip of the iceberg going on. Well, you add all
- 1:38:34Speaker 35: that money up year in and year out, with state
- 1:38:36Speaker 35: spending increasing 400% to 500% over 30 years, something is
- 1:38:42Speaker 35: disconnected here economically. And when your state Your assets and
- 1:38:47Speaker 35: your state government cannot cover your debt. You have some
- 1:38:50Speaker 35: serious problems going on right now in the state. Again,
- 1:38:54Speaker 35: this should be a major campaign issue. I don't see
- 1:38:59Speaker 35: anything being talked about. All I know is Connecticut is
- 1:39:01Speaker 35: on its way.
- 1:39:02Speaker 43: It's great.
- 1:39:03Speaker 35: You know, you can buy ice cream at the store,
- 1:39:05Speaker 35: and everything is wonderful, so on and so forth.
- 1:39:08Speaker 43: I mean, come on.
- 1:39:10Speaker 35: Does anybody see any of this? I really wonder sometimes,
- 1:39:15Speaker 35: are our elected officials that ignorant of economics, of business,
- 1:39:21Speaker 35: of taxation, of spending, that they have allowed this to
- 1:39:25Speaker 35: happen year in and year out? It's tiring to talk
- 1:39:28Speaker 35: about it all the time, but I will talk about it,
- 1:39:31Speaker 35: because the facts are there, the figures are there. Do
- 1:39:34Speaker 35: something about it.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: When you see the only... whatever you want to call it.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: Like I did this on the 30 with Tony, I
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: believe it was last week. We talked about the Neighborhood
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: Assistance Act and the multiple millions flying out all over
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: the place for all these varying projects. And isn't this great?
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: And this is economic development. Connecticut's on the move. And Bob,
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: I'm just, I'm scratching my head and I'm saying, okay,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: you know, you put $ 8 million in a stadium, you
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: put $ 2 million in a bridge, you put, like, where
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: is the Where's the give back on that? Where is
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: the revenue generating coefficient? You know, speaking in algebraic terms.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: I did get to algebra, too.
- 1:40:18Speaker 35: That's never published because there is one.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:40:22Speaker 35: You could pour all the money you want into that stadium.
- 1:40:24Speaker 35: Unless you have teams that are generating revenue and generating
- 1:40:27Speaker 35: tax revenue, you're not going to get any money back.
- 1:40:29Speaker 35: I mean, you don't have to be an economist to
- 1:40:32Speaker 35: figure it out or an accountant to figure it out. And, again,
- 1:40:35Speaker 35: I agree with you. We're going to give XYZ $ 2 million.
- 1:40:39Speaker 35: We expect to achieve X amount of jobs, X amount
- 1:40:43Speaker 35: of tax revenue, so on and so forth. Well, you see,
- 1:40:46Speaker 35: once in a while it comes out, this is going
- 1:40:48Speaker 35: to create 20 jobs or whatever. Okay, so what are
- 1:40:52Speaker 35: the 20 jobs? Are the 20 jobs worth spending $ 1
- 1:40:55Speaker 35: million each? Because if you look at the figures of
- 1:40:58Speaker 35: some of these companies that were given money, That's, you know,
- 1:41:02Speaker 35: pick a figure out of the sky. That's what you're
- 1:41:04Speaker 35: paying to create the job. And I agree with you that,
- 1:41:07Speaker 35: you know, we got all these different projects. We're going
- 1:41:10Speaker 35: to spend all this money in all these different areas.
- 1:41:13Speaker 35: Somehow it's going to boost the state economy up once again. Well,
- 1:41:17Speaker 35: it hasn't in 35 years. So why don't you try
- 1:41:20Speaker 35: something different? Never happened.
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: It's an amazing thing.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: And When we, in the closing minutes, talking with Bob Swick,
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: I was studying, and this is probably a subject for
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: the next time out, because I think we're causing a
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: justifiable fire here. I'm studying the Fazio tax plan, and
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: I'm looking at it, and I'm saying, well, as one
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: young person said to me, well, $ 2, 500, that's going to
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: help me with three-quarters of my rent. for, uh, my
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: overinflated apartment. And you don't start to fix things. We
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: can maybe do this next time. You don't start to
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: fix things until you cut slash burn, consolidate, streamline, um,
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: make things transparent, figure out what the hell's happening with
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: all these nonprofits and saying, well, I'm going to fund
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: them and I'm going to offload the balance sheet.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's just, it's this.
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: Consistent rearranging of the chairs on the Titanic, um, deck
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: that's driving me nuts.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: Bob, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please close and comment.
- 1:42:28Speaker 35: Well, all I can say is we need to address
- 1:42:32Speaker 35: the debt issue, the honesty issue, the crime issue, and
- 1:42:37Speaker 35: basically the issues to present to Connecticut taxpayers a peaceful
- 1:42:43Speaker 35: life that they can live free of crime and free
- 1:42:46Speaker 35: of fear by their state government.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: And that's why we're here. Tony D'Angelo with Bob Swick. Bob,
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: thank you, pal. We're coming at the top of the hour,
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: and we will have his honor, Judge John Nazero, coming in.
- 1:42:59Speaker 14: I don't know what we're going to talk about.
- 1:43:14Speaker 57: I don't know what we're going to talk about.
- 1:43:32Speaker 14: Thank you.
- 1:43:44Speaker 32: In Stonington, the earlier accident has cleared I-95 southbound at

- 1:54:53Speaker 1: D'Angelo in for Lee Elsie and here with the Honorable
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: Judge Nazaro. Judge, first of all, thank you for coming out. Secondly,
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: and welcome, and you begin where you want to begin today.
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: Sure, I show up and I break the equipment, break
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: the studio, you know, it's bad karma. This bad dark
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: cloud walks in. No, great to be here. Thank you
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: so much. For those that don't know, I'm a retired
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: judge lawyering again, and it's a few interesting issues in
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: the news and And I want to talk about the
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: AI thing. It's a very controversial thing. We've got development
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: going on. We're talking off mic with Lee and others
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: about this potential development of data centers and the controversy
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: over that. So just a couple of thoughts. You know,
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: this AI doom and gloom. My belief is that Anthropic
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: and these companies came out with these dire predictions. It's
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: the end of the world. So, by the way, if
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: you have anything to do, you better accomplish it in
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: the next 24 hours because the world's going to end.
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: The world's going to end in 2030. And I do
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: believe that this doom and gloom was a move by
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: the AI companies to not be meta. A meta, if
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: you didn't know, is Facebook, and they paid out $ 17
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: billion in a settlement after these verdicts came out. It's
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: not like we didn't telegraph this. We have this thing
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: called social media, and it's molding the minds. Just go
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: down to high school, anywhere else. Look at kids. What
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: are they doing? They're not looking in front of them.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: They're staring at their phones. And that's what's going on everywhere.
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: Couples out at dinner. They're not talking to each other.
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: They're looking at their phones.
- 1:56:28Speaker 12: Wow.
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: You know, chiropractors and orthopedics are having a field day
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: because of the hunched over neck thing. So the AI
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: doom thing. So they're forecasting doom because they want to
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: be regulated.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: That's my thought.
- 1:56:39Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: You know, it's all money driven. And so now there is,
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: you know, and I saw him this morning. He was
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: on CNBC. Richard Blumenthal, some of you are going to
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: take issue with this.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: But he's trying.
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: He's trying with Josh Hawley, bipartisan Republican Senator Josh Hawley
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: and Richard and Becky Quick asked, who's on board with
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: this legislation? Well, they're trying to put guardrails. They're trying
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: to be responsive. So right now you've got Democratic Senator
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: Blumenthal and Republican Senator Hawley trying to shepherd stuff through. Well,
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: you've got to give them credit. They're trying to get
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: something done before they leave for some type of recess,
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: some type of legislation to put guardrails. And I will
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: tell you that they're trying. State of Florida, shout out
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: to the state of Florida. They actually filed a lawsuit.
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: They filed a lawsuit to require AI companies to put
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: guardrails on. Why is one state doing what the Congress
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: should be doing? This is a national issue.
- 1:57:34Speaker 12: Right, Tone?
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: This expands across state lines.
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: I try to, you know, and people may look at
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: me saying, yes, sure, D'Angelo, but I try to get
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: varying viewpoints because it's, I judge, I subscribe to the
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: John F. Kennedy rule. I don't want the Democrat answer.
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: Don't want the Republican answer. I want the right answer.
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: And so when I have on Fox business, which is
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: normally what I'm playing, cause I have to sort of
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: watch that for work and it's not bad. But when
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: that question is asked, somebody will come out and say, well, China, China,
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: China's going leaps and bounds. They will get so far
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: ahead of us. The president always says China will get
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: so far ahead of us. We have to keep up
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: for it. We can't lose the race. And there's never
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: a resolution to that point. But it's always that we
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: want to go, and you hear all the crazy stuff,
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: and it's going to kill us all, and all this
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: other kind of thing, and I'm like, well, it's going
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: to kill us all, but yet when it tries to
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: depict a picture on Facebook of a historical event, you
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: have the guy that lost is beating up the other guy,
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: and I'm like, listen, let me catch my breath in
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: this thing, but me, myself, and I, which is basically
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: my selfish view.
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: Of the world, I'm like, Hey, this thing is a
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: help to me.
- 1:58:57Speaker 11: I can use it.
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: I can, uh, doesn't have a sick day. Doesn't have
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: a belly ache. Uh, and Agnes is not coming in
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: from Pittsburgh, you know? And I'm like, and, and with
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: all the, and this is the thing with all of
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: the unfavorable employment laws, you know, you've been an employer,
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: you're an employer now. It's like, well, maybe I don't
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: have to hire somebody to do this research.
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: I can, temper what I've got here. I mean, I
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: see possibilities.
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: Yes, I think with any new technology, you've got to
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: be very careful as to what it does. But it's
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: like the minute I hear, well, Congress is going to
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: regulate this, I start to get immediately nervous.
- 1:59:35Speaker 35: Yeah.
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: Well, you know, there needs to be regulation. We talked
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: about this and there wasn't regulation. Indeed, Richard Blumenthal referred
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: to Mark Zuckerberg as Zuckerberg. And you can see the disdain, right?
- 1:59:46Speaker 3: So I want to say something about this race with China. Folks,
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: in case you haven't noticed, we're a lot different than China. Now,
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: I'm Asian, Japanese-American. How have we competed with a country
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: that has no workers' compensation, has no minimum wage, has
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: no human rights? There's no CHRO, Connecticut Human Rights Act,
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: and yet we compete. I went shopping for furniture, and
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: I go into the furniture store. Has anybody gone shopping lately?
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: And I'm so happy to see an American product, an
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: Amish wood product from Pennsylvania. You know where the furniture
- 2:00:18Speaker 3: is coming from, Tone? Have you furnished a room lately?
- 2:00:21Speaker 7: Thailand.
- 2:00:21Speaker 9: Thailand.
- 2:00:23Speaker 3: Thailand and China. And I'm looking at this $ 2, 400 hutch.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: And you know what's on the backing of it? Painted
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: cardboard with screws. I'm thinking, really?
- 2:00:32Speaker 6: And then I look at Thomasville.
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: And I look at Ethan Allen and good old American furniture.
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: Solid wood.
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: That's great. And so you go into quality stores. How
- 2:00:41Speaker 3: can they compete? So we're competing with the Chinese. It's
- 2:00:45Speaker 3: almost laughable. It's like Sri Lanka. The kids making Nikes,
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: you know, $ 2 a week at these American companies. And
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: we're on the train. Let's make our iPhones over in China,
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: you know. But where we got them beat, though, where
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: we got them beat, Nazaro with ADHD this morning.
- 2:01:02Speaker 6: Is chips.
- 2:01:03Speaker 11: Chips.
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: We got them on chips. Okay, those Bastards? Can I
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: say that? I'm going to get fined.
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: But the FCC, right?
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: We got those chips. So let's screw over the Chinese
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: with the chips. Let's do what we can to favor
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: trade for the U.S. So, okay, we're in competition, but
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: we have to regulate. We don't want to be meta
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: down the road 10 years from now because all this
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: AI is taking over. So I've gone kicking and screaming.
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: It's here. Everybody uses it. A buddy of mine from Texas,
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: very successful, grew up right here in Ledgerd. Super successful
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: businessman with business in Dallas and also in San Clemente.
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: He was all over this AI thing. And he's a
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: tech guy. He rose his way up from sales to
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: being president of a company called Data Point Corporation in Dallas, Texas.
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: And this is the way of the future. So it's
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: here now. It's here to stay. Whether we have the
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: data centers, whole other issue. Oh, it's going to disturb
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: the aquifer and water sources, and it's going to overburden
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: local things. Well, in case you haven't noticed, I drove
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: past it today. Exit 92 on 95. At one point,
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: that corridor, and if Rob Simmons is listening, he knows
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: what I'm talking about, because we actually fought the construction
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: of Six Flags, and now there's big-time development at the
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: intersection of Voluntown, Route 2. They cleared it out. There's
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: housing going in there. Back in 08, right before the
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: market crashed, Reedco Development had all these proposals. And that's
- 2:02:26Speaker 3: where the Regal Cinema was. It was leveled. It's now housing.
- 2:02:30Speaker 3: And I hope it turns out well. I live very close.
- 2:02:33Speaker 3: You know, so the not in my backyard thing doesn't work.
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: Development is happening. We need housing, although people are still
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: fleeing Connecticut. So I'm trying to figure that out. School populations,
- 2:02:42Speaker 3: I think they're going down. But we do need affordable housing.
- 2:02:45Speaker 3: We have this aging population. So we need responsible development.
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: And is it screw the aquifer? There's an aquifer over there.
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: There's this big water supply. And we get water shipped
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: in in Stonington from Westerly. And when there's a water scare,
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: people are worried, you know. So there is development. Hey, folks,
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: the train's rolling. We're going to advance. We're going to
- 2:03:05Speaker 3: build housing. People are fighting it, but they're losing it.
- 2:03:08Speaker 3: We're going to advance. We've got an aging population. What
- 2:03:11Speaker 3: do we do with these people? We've got to put
- 2:03:12Speaker 3: them somewhere. And we're going to use AI in the process.
- 2:03:15Speaker 3: Are we going to eliminate jobs?
- 2:03:17Speaker 46: You bet.
- 2:03:17Speaker 3: But we're going to adapt. That's what Americans do, don't we?
- 2:03:21Speaker 3: Industrial Revolution came out. You know, Thomas Edison invented electricity.
- 2:03:25Speaker 3: I think we didn't eliminate loggers. We still were getting wood,
- 2:03:30Speaker 3: and we adapted. We went in another direction. So that's
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: what I'm hoping for.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: We never seem to get to where we run out
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: of jobs. Like, for example— I can remember, like, if
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: you turn on a 1930s movie and they show the
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: interior of a bank and everybody's there with a typewriter.
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: All the men have adding machines. All the women have typewriters. Now,
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: today I'm doing all that on one unit or a phone.
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: It's not like there's the people who are unemployed or
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: the people that are floundering out there are usually those
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: that over the course of time haven't... They're matriculated into
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: the employment market or they've got a difficulty or they're
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: on the street or something like that. There's always a
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: job somebody can do and you have to start somewhere.
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: Well, here's the other thing. There was this story. Here
- 2:04:26Speaker 3: come the haters. President Trump had this big meeting in
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: the Oval Office. And he announced the construction of the
- 2:04:32Speaker 3: largest steel mill ever in Iowa.
- 2:04:35Speaker 2: I saw that.
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: Some foreign country I haven't heard of. Brown-skinned guy. I'm
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: a little brown-skinned, so I can say that. And he's
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: investing like a gazillion dollars in Iowa. And so there's
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: a steel mill going up. Isn't that great? We used
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: to be the mill town, right? Worregan, Connecticut, textiles, Bristol,
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: brass down in Waterbury. And what's happening? People came in.
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: There was this great developer from Norwalk, Connecticut. His name
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: was Seth Weinstein. Do you know what he specialized in?
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: He took old mills that were outdated and shut down
- 2:05:04Speaker 3: and converted them into housing. And it's not an easy
- 2:05:07Speaker 3: lift because a modern window, and I'm shopping for windows
- 2:05:09Speaker 3: so I know the cost. It's hard to fit into
- 2:05:12Speaker 3: a 1930 old mill. We got these mills around. Let's
- 2:05:16Speaker 3: turn them into housing. They may be super fun site,
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: all kinds of chemicals and things, but we have to
- 2:05:21Speaker 3: reuse things, right? Because the train rolls on. We may
- 2:05:24Speaker 3: not be manufacturing textiles and the like. Upstate New York,
- 2:05:29Speaker 3: there was a company called Learberries. They supplied goods and
- 2:05:33Speaker 3: textiles for Brooks Brothers. And if you go into a
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: Brooks Brothers, you know where their stuff is made? Sri Lanka, Thailand, China. Okay,
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: and I like to look for American made.
- 2:05:43Speaker 10: Why?
- 2:05:43Speaker 3: Because I'm a racist? No, I'm biracial. Because it's quality stuff.
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: It's not going to fall apart. I'm wearing a Brooks
- 2:05:49Speaker 3: shirt and a Brooks tie, right? And sometimes I look
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: out and I see it's made in America. Wow, good quality.
- 2:05:58Speaker 3: And we pay for that. We got to pay a
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: little more. That's okay. Because that covers workers' comp. It
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: covers insurance, health care. I'm all for it. We're not
- 2:06:06Speaker 3: legal today, but we're talking about life, maybe. Life as
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: we know it. There's a place for everything. Hey, let's
- 2:06:12Speaker 3: import goods, but let us export goods, right? Let's go
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: fair and balanced trade. Let's do fair deals. There have
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: been so much restriction on our ability to send goods
- 2:06:22Speaker 3: over to Europe. This has got to stop. Trump is
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: trying to stop it. And the fact is Inflation numbers
- 2:06:29Speaker 3: aren't bad. It's about 2% now. And it's growing. People
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: are concerned. But the reality is we've got to have
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: everything flowing. Go back to that economy. It's the economy stupid,
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: which dovetails into the other issue, elections, upcoming elections.
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and I was going to ask something.
- 2:06:47Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 2:06:47Speaker 3: You know, and we'll see. The polls are saying, yeah,
- 2:06:50Speaker 3: it could be. Is there a blue wave coming? I
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: think we have a question. We have a caller.
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: We have a caller.
- 2:06:57Speaker 1: Sorry, my producer hit me with a rock in the head.
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: Line one, we have a caller.
- 2:07:02Speaker 62: Does the beep mean I'm not on the air?
- 2:07:05Speaker 12: You are on.
- 2:07:06Speaker 41: Hello?
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: Yes, you're here.
- 2:07:08Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 2:07:08Speaker 31: Go ahead.
- 2:07:10Speaker 41: Can you hear me?
- 2:07:10Speaker 12: We can.
- 2:07:10Speaker 40: Yes, sir.
- 2:07:11Speaker 18: Good morning.
- 2:07:12Speaker 8: Okay.
- 2:07:12Speaker 41: Ted here from New London. I just want to go quick.
- 2:07:15Speaker 41: I love both you guys.
- 2:07:17Speaker 35: I've met you many times over the years.
- 2:07:19Speaker 62: But I just want to tell you that the economy
- 2:07:22Speaker 62: is like the oceans.
- 2:07:24Speaker 35: It never stops.
- 2:07:26Speaker 6: That's right.
- 2:07:26Speaker 62: The tide comes in, the tide goes out. And even during,
- 2:07:31Speaker 62: once the Bolsheviks, whoever won the revolution back in 1917
- 2:07:36Speaker 62: in Russia, and the czar was kicked out and the
- 2:07:39Speaker 62: communists came in, there was always an underground economy because that's.
- 2:07:43Speaker 35: What people do. They trade. They barter. They make money.
- 2:07:47Speaker 62: That's what we do as human beings.
- 2:07:50Speaker 41: So I have no fear of AI at all.
- 2:07:54Speaker 62: We're going to figure out how to make money, and
- 2:07:55Speaker 62: there's going to be a lot of money to be made.
- 2:07:58Speaker 12: Good point.
- 2:07:58Speaker 2: Good point.
- 2:08:00Speaker 3: A self-employed businessman.
- 2:08:01Speaker 11: I'll end on this.
- 2:08:02Speaker 62: With the elections, I know what I'm doing the day
- 2:08:05Speaker 62: after every single election.
- 2:08:07Speaker 35: I'm getting up and going back to work.
- 2:08:09Speaker 5: That's what I do.
- 2:08:10Speaker 2: It's a free country, Chad. You're free to work.
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: And thankful we have jobs. Thankful we have jobs and
- 2:08:17Speaker 3: you're taking a chance and we're employing people and taking
- 2:08:20Speaker 3: a risk, right? That's the backbone of America.
- 2:08:23Speaker 31: Small business.
- 2:08:23Speaker 41: We're measuring risk all the time.
- 2:08:26Speaker 7: Yep.
- 2:08:27Speaker 3: Yep.
- 2:08:28Speaker 35: What can I tolerate? What can I? You guys are great.
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: Thanks for giving me a.
- 2:08:31Speaker 41: Second or two to say hello.
- 2:08:33Speaker 35: Keep up the good work.
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: Sorry I was late to pick up. Thank you.
- 2:08:36Speaker 43: You bet.
- 2:08:37Speaker 3: We got some other stuff going on in the news.
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: We're going to talk about the NIL. We're going to
- 2:08:40Speaker 3: pivot to sports, you know, because I hate this. I
- 2:08:44Speaker 3: used to say a long time ago that, you know,
- 2:08:46Speaker 3: college players, it's awful. You give them money and that
- 2:08:49Speaker 3: kind of thing. And it happened.
- 2:08:50Speaker 7: It did happen.
- 2:08:51Speaker 3: Because you got this poor kid from Georgia who wants
- 2:08:53Speaker 3: to be a baller, you know, and they grow up
- 2:08:55Speaker 3: in the holler somewhere and they're going to dangle a
- 2:08:58Speaker 3: car in front of them, a trip, and people got
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: into trouble. Well, now they're getting paid. But now we've overshot.
- 2:09:03Speaker 11: Right, Lee?
- 2:09:03Speaker 6: We've overshot.
- 2:09:04Speaker 12: We never learned.
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: We never learned. But now we've got to regulate. So
- 2:09:07Speaker 3: now they're proposing restrictions. You can only trade so many
- 2:09:10Speaker 3: times or you will be fined. And that's appropriate.
- 2:09:14Speaker 35: Right?
- 2:09:14Speaker 3: It was too much and we've got to rein it in.
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: And this whole mentality of big sports and money, I
- 2:09:21Speaker 3: don't like it. I saw some bad calls. I saw
- 2:09:23Speaker 3: some bad calls in the last couple weeks. And I'm like,
- 2:09:25Speaker 3: are the gamblers happy? I mean, the obvious touchdowns that
- 2:09:29Speaker 3: were called back and And non-fouls, et cetera, that materialized
- 2:09:33Speaker 3: out of nowhere.
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: How do you– and this has been my issue since
- 2:09:37Speaker 1: time immemorial, and I'm horribly naive here. But how do
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: you keep what's happening on the field, Judge, clean with
- 2:09:45Speaker 1: respect to the outcome? Well– When there's so much money
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: going either.
- 2:09:49Speaker 3: Way– Well, I'm going to use the proposal. I'd be
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: interested to hear from Tom Cantone or any of the executives.
- 2:09:53Speaker 3: I was involved years ago in a case defending a
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: high-roller– a host at one of the casinos. Five of
- 2:10:00Speaker 3: the hosts were arrested for a non-crime, and we all
- 2:10:03Speaker 3: went in and we defended these guys, and we got
- 2:10:05Speaker 3: all the charges dismissed. You know what they do with
- 2:10:07Speaker 3: casino hosts? They pay them well.
- 2:10:09Speaker 18: You know why?
- 2:10:10Speaker 3: Because you don't want them to be bribed by the whales,
- 2:10:12Speaker 3: the big players. I represented the most successful host in
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: North America. He brought in a Saudi prince every month.
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: He'd lose a million dollars, and he'd say, had a
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: great time, see you next month. Those are the guys
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: you want if you're on the board and you want
- 2:10:26Speaker 3: to look at those revenues. So how do you keep
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: that going? You pay them well, and you make them
- 2:10:30Speaker 3: not susceptible to bribes. We can't have people gaming the system,
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: whether it's players, officials. I started out in organized crime investigation.
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: We got state officials.
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: We're dovetailing now into bribery. Why are they getting bribed?
- 2:10:45Speaker 3: Because they're in positions of power, and they're giving out contracts,
- 2:10:48Speaker 3: and they're getting kickbacks and that kind of thing. So
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: you have to pay them well. Make them beyond reproach.
- 2:10:53Speaker 1: Well, the other thing is, and I go back, and
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: before my time, but I was well aware of it
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: growing up in the New York metropolitan area, the NYU
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: point shaving scandal, where the players were approached by the gamblers,
- 2:11:10Speaker 1: you're not going to lose, you're just going to drop
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: this down so we can get a bet in. And
- 2:11:15Speaker 1: it was this thing of, well, Hey, to a pork head,
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: it's like, are you going to give me a meal?
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: Are you going to give me a car? Are you
- 2:11:20Speaker 1: going to give me clothes? And, I mean, I think
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: to your point, it's if you don't have that, shall
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: we say, basic economic line.
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: And it's not what you're banning.
- 2:11:30Speaker 3: Here's the other problem. You know, we could talk about
- 2:11:31Speaker 3: banning illegal brown people on the border of San Diego
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: all day long. But what about the people that hire them?
- 2:11:37Speaker 3: Everybody's hiring illegal help into their households.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: Drugs.
- 2:11:42Speaker 3: We've got pounds of cocaine coming through the border. What
- 2:11:44Speaker 3: about the demand in the U.S.? So this is a problem.
- 2:11:48Speaker 3: It's the appetite, right? It's the appetite for what's going on,
- 2:11:51Speaker 3: and we've got to control that. You know, that's why
- 2:11:54Speaker 3: when marijuana became so-called legal or decriminalized, I said tax
- 2:11:58Speaker 3: the heck out of it. Raise revenue. Why should the
- 2:12:01Speaker 3: illegal guys be making the money on it? What's the
- 2:12:05Speaker 3: difference between alcohol and marijuana? Oh, there's an issue for
- 2:12:09Speaker 3: five hours, right? Let's raise some revenue. People are doing it, right?
- 2:12:13Speaker 3: We can do all the sin taxes we want. I
- 2:12:16Speaker 3: don't think it's good. Don't get me wrong. I'm a
- 2:12:18Speaker 3: believer in the gateway argument. I live it. I've seen it.
- 2:12:22Speaker 3: I'm not minimizing the ill effects of any kind of
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: illegal substance, but if it's going to be out there
- 2:12:28Speaker 3: and there's good uses for CBD, cancer, etc., right?
- 2:12:32Speaker 1: I believe anything that God put on the earth has
- 2:12:36Speaker 1: a purpose. The problem is, I think, like the tobacco leaf.
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: where that was not supposed to be smoked. If you
- 2:12:41Speaker 1: have a tobacco leaf, if you put it on a
- 2:12:43Speaker 1: sore or something, it's an immediate healing. But, you know,
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: go find a pure tobacco leaf anywhere. No, it's all
- 2:12:49Speaker 1: going for cigarettes.
- 2:12:49Speaker 3: So now I'm going to get all the animal lovers
- 2:12:51Speaker 3: to hate me. In a couple weeks, I'll be hunting
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: birds in the forest. Yeah, I'll be hunting birds, and
- 2:12:57Speaker 3: I eat what I kill, right? But, you know, sometimes
- 2:12:59Speaker 3: we smoke cigars, and there's this product. It's like tobacco.
- 2:13:03Speaker 3: It's woods or something.
- 2:13:04Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: It's probably laden with chemicals and carcinogens. And people in
- 2:13:08Speaker 3: North Carolina invented this. This is really scary stuff. And,
- 2:13:12Speaker 3: you know, you smoke it in the woods. Kind of
- 2:13:13Speaker 3: like the smell. I like the smell of a pipe.
- 2:13:16Speaker 3: I never discriminated against smokers. I'm not a smoker. Never
- 2:13:19Speaker 3: smoked anything.
- 2:13:20Speaker 12: Anything.
- 2:13:20Speaker 3: Why do I mean that? Illegal, legal, never smoked anything
- 2:13:24Speaker 3: other than, you know, cigars. And I used to not
- 2:13:27Speaker 3: discriminate as a judge against cigarette smokers. My parents both smoked.
- 2:13:31Speaker 3: I have a brother who's a crazy secondhand smoke radical,
- 2:13:34Speaker 3: you know. But people smoke, and that's okay.
- 2:13:37Speaker 12: I'm a libertarian.
- 2:13:38Speaker 3: You want to fill your lungs up with black stuff and,
- 2:13:40Speaker 3: you know, it creates problems.
- 2:13:42Speaker 6: We have a call.
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: We have one last caller, and this is Ann. Hello, Ann.
- 2:13:47Speaker 12: Good morning, Ann.
- 2:13:47Speaker 57: The amount of money that athletes make now should make
- 2:13:49Speaker 57: it prohibitive for seedy dealings. But referees, scorers, statistical input personnel,
- 2:13:56Speaker 57: lots of layers of people who could have influence on
- 2:13:58Speaker 57: the outcomes. Dairy Slippery Slope.
- 2:14:02Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:14:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:14:03Speaker 1: And Ann will be hosting here next Tuesday. I've just
- 2:14:06Speaker 1: been fired. We're all being replaced by robots.
- 2:14:12Speaker 3: It's a slippery slope indeed. You know, we're like on
- 2:14:14Speaker 3: the top of the– here we are, Legend. We're on
- 2:14:16Speaker 3: the top of the telephone pole. They used to have
- 2:14:18Speaker 3: a ward. You could climb the telephone pole. Legend High
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: School reunion coming up.
- 2:14:23Speaker 2: 50th reunion. LHS.
- 2:14:25Speaker 3: We're not a nonprofit. We're just a bunch of knuckleheads
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: who have survived 50 years. I'm at Nazaro Law Incorporated.
- 2:14:32Speaker 3: I'm across from the Washington Street Coffee House. I'm tired
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: of giving Washington Street a plug. They need to buy airtime.
- 2:14:37Speaker 3: They've got to call Full Power Radio, buy an ad,

- 2:20:11Speaker 53: It's Hugh Hewitt here with Ken and Nick Tumalo, hosts
- 2:20:13Speaker 53: of Tumalo Financial Radio, Sundays on 94.9. Guys, why do
- 2:20:18Speaker 53: taxes get overlooked in retirement planning?
- 2:20:21Speaker 64: Because the tax code is so complicated. You look at it,
- 2:20:23Speaker 64: the 401k is pre-tax money. The Roth is tax-free. Your
- 2:20:26Speaker 64: non-retirement accounts are capital gains, dividends, and interest. Your social
- 2:20:30Speaker 64: security is taxed by provisional income. I'm giving you all
- 2:20:32Speaker 64: these things, and you're probably already confused. That's why you
- 2:20:34Speaker 64: want to build out that two-month retirement checkup to see short, first,
- 2:20:38Speaker 64: long-term effects on these type of things.
- 2:20:40Speaker 12: Because you never know.
- 2:20:41Speaker 64: You might have been saving well in those 401ks, and
- 2:20:43Speaker 64: you might have a required minimum distribution issue at 73
- 2:20:46Speaker 64: or 75, depending on your birth. So you really don't
- 2:20:50Speaker 64: want to look at it just on a one-year basis. Oh, yeah,
- 2:20:53Speaker 64: I'm going to do a Roth conversion this year. It's
- 2:20:54Speaker 64: going to take care of everything. No, planning takes year
- 2:20:57Speaker 64: over year on tax planning. You can't just do it
- 2:20:59Speaker 64: in one year.
- 2:21:00Speaker 60: Yeah, and one of the biggest things that we did
- 2:21:01Speaker 60: find with tax planning, especially for our listeners, was that
- 2:21:06Speaker 60: it has to be done over multiple years to actually
- 2:21:08Speaker 60: gain an advantage. So it's not that simple where you
- 2:21:10Speaker 60: just make one change in one year. A lot of
- 2:21:12Speaker 60: times it's the planning piece of it. And when we
- 2:21:14Speaker 60: do our two more financial retirement checkup, it actually looks
- 2:21:17Speaker 60: like a big spreadsheet and it shows the numbers over
- 2:21:20Speaker 60: a whole bunch of years. We like to go out 24,
- 2:21:22Speaker 60: even 30 years at times when we're projecting out, because
- 2:21:24Speaker 60: if we can pick up on some of these tax
- 2:21:26Speaker 60: things and then start to implement strategies, then what we
- 2:21:29Speaker 60: can do is put in front of you, the listeners,
- 2:21:31Speaker 60: we can put in front of them where they would
- 2:21:33Speaker 60: save money in taxes and how much over time. So
- 2:21:35Speaker 60: it starts with that Tumor Financial Retirement Checkup, our number, 860-854-3434.

- 2:29:54Speaker 66: old guy, or agent. And Will says, okay, well, we've
- 2:29:59Speaker 66: got to look up some information. He grabs the New
- 2:30:03Speaker 66: York Times and... Tommy Lee Jones' character grabs it, tosses
- 2:30:07Speaker 66: it aside, and grabs the Enquirer and says, this is
- 2:30:10Speaker 66: where the real news is.
- 2:30:12Speaker 29: Well, yeah.
- 2:30:13Speaker 66: So I looked at The Sun, and The Sun is
- 2:30:16Speaker 66: one of those papers in England that is not The Times.
- 2:30:19Speaker 66: It's not quite The Tattler, but it's not The Times.
- 2:30:24Speaker 66: But there was a first-person interview with a woman, a farmer,
- 2:30:29Speaker 66: coming home with her family early morning from an event.
- 2:30:34Speaker 66: And she sees these cars out that look kind of
- 2:30:38Speaker 66: military almost and guys running around with masks over their face.
- 2:30:42Speaker 66: So she calls the air base security. She can't get anywhere.
- 2:30:47Speaker 66: So she calls 911. And the police show up, not
- 2:30:52Speaker 66: the military, the police. And I reproduced the picture from
- 2:30:57Speaker 66: that article, and I've lent that article on X. And
- 2:31:02Speaker 66: she says, So they arrested five guys, which we now
- 2:31:07Speaker 66: know they also let go. She said, but there were
- 2:31:09Speaker 66: many more, or several more. I could see them running
- 2:31:13Speaker 66: through the field. Some of them ran into the field,
- 2:31:16Speaker 66: and some of them actually ran back to the air base.
- 2:31:20Speaker 66: So I just think this bears watching, unfortunately. I think
- 2:31:26Speaker 66: what we found out with lots of these type of
- 2:31:30Speaker 66: events that unfortunately... It's not quite what we thought they were.
- 2:31:35Speaker 66: There's some, you know, Bay of Tonkin. They're sometimes used
- 2:31:38Speaker 66: to gin up a response that government wants, or parts
- 2:31:44Speaker 66: of government wants, you know. So anyway, I thought I'd
- 2:31:48Speaker 66: bring that up.
- 2:31:48Speaker 2: You can see it on X.
- 2:31:50Speaker 66: You can read the link, look at the picture. It's
- 2:31:53Speaker 66: JSG2000GN on X. And I just wanted to bring that
- 2:31:59Speaker 66: news forward.
- 2:32:00Speaker 1: You know, you have me thinking going back, and we
- 2:32:05Speaker 1: were taught in grade school that Lee Harvey Oswald had
- 2:32:09Speaker 1: shot John F. Kennedy with his pop gun with a
- 2:32:13Speaker 1: car speeding in the other direction, and he reloaded three times,
- 2:32:16Speaker 1: Andy and Dan. The late 1960s, early 1970s, we saw
- 2:32:19Speaker 1: a– A lot of things showing up in the tabloids about,
- 2:32:26Speaker 1: you know, there's more people involved. There's some creepy people.
- 2:32:29Speaker 1: There's people out of New Orleans. There's Cuba and whatever.
- 2:32:33Speaker 1: It's like, oh, that's, you know, that's junk. What are
- 2:32:36Speaker 1: you reading that stuff for? And it's often that, I
- 2:32:40Speaker 1: think to your point, people get, how could I put it?
- 2:32:45Speaker 1: They're quick to dismiss the tabloids. When, as I was
- 2:32:49Speaker 1: told as a very young man working in CBS publications,
- 2:32:53Speaker 1: talking to a senior executive, because that's what we did.
- 2:32:55Speaker 1: We pushed all the, you know, the Inquirer, the Sun,
- 2:32:59Speaker 1: all those newspapers that we all know and love. And
- 2:33:01Speaker 1: I said, why do people buy this stuff, you know, Mr.
- 2:33:04Speaker 12: Prye?
- 2:33:05Speaker 1: Nobody's, you know, nobody could take it and say, oh, no, no, no, no, no.
- 2:33:08Speaker 1: Kim Asabi, you don't understand. It's not that all of
- 2:33:12Speaker 1: it is false. It's half of it is false. You've
- 2:33:15Speaker 1: got to figure out which half, and there go is
- 2:33:18Speaker 1: the fascination. But I, you know, it's like with all
- 2:33:23Speaker 1: the fake news we've been given, I think you take
- 2:33:25Speaker 1: any information and you should take it under advisement. There
- 2:33:28Speaker 1: may be a kernel of truth there. So you have
- 2:33:31Speaker 1: me thinking about that.
- 2:33:32Speaker 66: Yeah, especially with an eyewitness. And as you know, I
- 2:33:36Speaker 66: did the show, you know, last week.
- 2:33:39Speaker 43: Yes, you did.
- 2:33:41Speaker 66: The week before, actually, Time Flies. about Lee Harvey Oswald
- 2:33:45Speaker 66: and my family's connection. Sad, but some of them weren't
- 2:33:51Speaker 66: good actors. And so we never, ever, as soon as
- 2:33:56Speaker 66: we knew my heart was in Russia and the FBI
- 2:34:00Speaker 66: had showed up to take a picture from her with
- 2:34:03Speaker 66: Lee Harvey Oswald in it, and that was just some
- 2:34:06Speaker 66: sort of, oh, that's a mistake. I don't know how
- 2:34:09Speaker 66: that happened. Within six months.
- 2:34:11Speaker 62: Okay?
- 2:34:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:34:12Speaker 66: We knew right away there was no shooter, but like
- 2:34:15Speaker 66: my dad said, don't talk about it. Now I talk
- 2:34:18Speaker 66: about it all the time because it's in the, you know,
- 2:34:21Speaker 66: it's many years ago. My dad is no longer with us.
- 2:34:25Speaker 66: It won't compromise anybody. And you know what? It's the
- 2:34:28Speaker 66: historical truth. Just my little piece of it is the
- 2:34:33Speaker 66: historical truth.
- 2:34:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and I can go over my, maybe in my
- 2:34:38Speaker 1: remaining time here, I'll go through my recollection of that
- 2:34:41Speaker 1: as an eight-year-old kid in Stanford, Connecticut. It was, I
- 2:34:46Speaker 1: remember the chills to this day. Anyway, Jan, thanks so
- 2:34:49Speaker 1: much for calling. And we have our great friend Dan
- 2:34:53Speaker 1: from East Hampton.
- 2:34:54Speaker 2: Hello, Dan.
- 2:34:56Speaker 43: Hey, what's going on? It reminds me of that TV show.
- 2:34:59Speaker 43: You remember that Dallas in the 80s?
- 2:35:01Speaker 39: Yes.
- 2:35:01Speaker 43: You know, who shot J.R.
- 2:35:03Speaker 60: Was like the big thing.
- 2:35:04Speaker 43: You know, it's like, who shot JFK? Turns out everybody.
- 2:35:07Speaker 43: Everybody was shooting down. Thousands of bullets raining down. Anyway,
- 2:35:12Speaker 43: I wanted to say something I have issue with, and
- 2:35:15Speaker 43: it's not that I disagree necessarily with what the judge
- 2:35:17Speaker 43: said about the, you know, people hiring illegals. It is
- 2:35:22Speaker 43: essentially the entire industry. In a state like New York,
- 2:35:26Speaker 43: you're not even allowed to confirm whether somebody is legal
- 2:35:29Speaker 43: or not. If they give you certain XYZ documentation, that's it.
- 2:35:35Speaker 43: You can't inquire further unless you want a lawsuit jammed
- 2:35:38Speaker 43: down your throat. I want to just point out the
- 2:35:42Speaker 43: gross hypocrisy of.
- 2:35:46Speaker 43: The idea that the government can be completely derelict in
- 2:35:51Speaker 43: its duties to defend our border and to keep illegals out.
- 2:35:54Speaker 43: And so when the horde comes over and the government,
- 2:35:59Speaker 43: you know, so the idea is you can't let them work, right?
- 2:36:05Speaker 43: That's the answer. You can't let them work. But their
- 2:36:09Speaker 43: answer is to put them on a full bank of welfare. Housing, clothing... catering,
- 2:36:17Speaker 43: laundry services, all on our dime, right? So then to
- 2:36:24Speaker 43: depict the whole thing as mean, evil, white people want
- 2:36:29Speaker 43: to keep brown people on the other side of the
- 2:36:31Speaker 43: border is so grievously offensive to me as a white
- 2:36:36Speaker 43: man that I just can't even get, I can't help
- 2:36:39Speaker 43: but get livid. I'm so tired of everybody bringing up
- 2:36:43Speaker 43: the idea like there's some kind of racism out there.
- 2:36:47Speaker 43: You're bankrupting us to death. Taxes come around year after
- 2:36:52Speaker 43: year after year. I spend almost half the year working
- 2:36:56Speaker 43: for free to pay the tax man, and you leave
- 2:37:00Speaker 43: the border open, and then you tell me– then you
- 2:37:04Speaker 43: want to tell the working people, right, oh, no, you're
- 2:37:09Speaker 43: just a racist because you want to keep brown people out?
- 2:37:12Speaker 43: I mean, it's just getting to be too much, man,
- 2:37:16Speaker 43: with the crying racism over everything. It doesn't play well.
- 2:37:22Speaker 35: ICE is not shooting people.
- 2:37:23Speaker 43: Tony, your opening was brilliant this morning, of course.
- 2:37:25Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 2:37:26Speaker 43: Thank you for that. They're not getting shot because they're brave.
- 2:37:31Speaker 43: People are getting killed by ICE because they're ramming them
- 2:37:34Speaker 43: with their cars and getting in the way of law enforcement.
- 2:37:37Speaker 43: If I see a SWAT team trying to take down
- 2:37:40Speaker 43: a building, right, here in my local town, which would
- 2:37:43Speaker 43: be kind of funny because we don't even have a
- 2:37:45Speaker 43: building worthy to take down for the SWAT team.
- 2:37:47Speaker 25: But if we did.
- 2:37:49Speaker 43: Is your first instinct, Tony, to drive your car and
- 2:37:52Speaker 43: ram it into the SWAT vehicles? I'm going to get
- 2:37:55Speaker 43: in the way of the helicopter guys that are rappelling down,
- 2:37:59Speaker 43: all geared up for military confrontation. I'm going to get
- 2:38:03Speaker 43: in the way of them. And then if something happens
- 2:38:06Speaker 43: to you, it's because of racism? It's because people are
- 2:38:11Speaker 43: incensed against brown people? I mean, I'm just really tired
- 2:38:15Speaker 43: of hearing it framed that way, aren't you?
- 2:38:17Speaker 1: And to think that these people are so deluded that
- 2:38:21Speaker 1: they think they're doing God's service when they do it.
- 2:38:24Speaker 1: I was just reading here, and this is a post
- 2:38:28Speaker 1: on Twitter from our pals at Connecticut Sentinel. And it's
- 2:38:32Speaker 1: last week activists stormed the Meriden Courthouse while judicial marshals
- 2:38:36Speaker 1: interfered with ERO Boston and tried to hide a criminal
- 2:38:40Speaker 1: illegal alien with a removal order. One marshal pushed a
- 2:38:44Speaker 1: protester who got hurt. So now the rapid responders are
- 2:38:48Speaker 1: protesting Thursday, October 1st at the Meriden Courthouse. We're going
- 2:38:52Speaker 1: to have a demand for an investigation. This is just
- 2:38:56Speaker 1: such insanity. You know what's been harnessed, Tony?
- 2:39:01Speaker 43: It's fanaticism, right? It's the idea that their position.
- 2:39:07Speaker 35: Is so correct, so morally high-grounded.
- 2:39:10Speaker 43: That it justifies every action.
- 2:39:14Speaker 2: It's so insane.
- 2:39:15Speaker 1: And I go back to George King Bush II, who
- 2:39:19Speaker 1: could have, with a stroke of his pen after 9-11,
- 2:39:22Speaker 1: 10 days after, could have ended illegal immigration for good.
- 2:39:25Speaker 1: But as Pappy and James Baker said, you ain't doing that, pal.
- 2:39:29Speaker 1: And anyway, so. Dan, I'm sorry. I wish we had
- 2:39:31Speaker 1: more time. Tony D'Angelo, 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. We're
- 2:39:35Speaker 1: going to wind up with the ending joke. Even those
- 2:39:38Speaker 1: that hate me love the ending joke. We'll be back
