- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think about Jaguars versus Panthers, one PM Sunday at the bank in the comment section below.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the 1995 Cats Bowl, it's the ETN Bowl.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: The former bucks' offensive coordinators' bowl, Liam Cohen and Dave Canales, the number one picks at quarterback bowl, Trevor Lawrence and Bryce Young, lots of connective tissue between these two franchises, also a bowl between two teams that have never won the big game.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are favored at home by three and a half points.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Generally, home teams get three points, about three points.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: So this is basically a very close game, according to Vegas.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think you look around the web and you have more analysts picking the Jag wars to win this game than the Panthers that might be through the fact that the Jag wars at home.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's through to the fact that the Jag wars have a little bit more experience on their side from a roster standpoint, but
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: From a coaching standpoint, from an office standpoint, you could definitely argue that they have a lot less experience, Liam Cohen, never been ahead coach in the league before.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Great Edinsky, never been an offensive coordinator.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: You also have defensive corner and thin kidney leg, calling plays on that side of the ball for the first time.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: You also have James Gladstone, General Manager for the first time, Tony Bicelli, EVP for the first time, and it is the first game of the Tony Bicelli, Liam Cohen.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone era did the con family finally get it right with
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: this new regime.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's the first time they've completely cleaned house.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now, looking at some injuries, Hunter Rennfro is in the starting lineup for the Carolina Panthers.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: He was not on their roster a week ago.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen Coker was placed on IR, short-term IR.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Town to Jung receiver at a Holy Cross had a good rookie year was impressing this off season, but he is going to be out with a quad I believe for the next several weeks so Hunter Rennfro
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: played some ball with Trevor Lawrence before is going to be in the starting line up at slot.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: You also have Adam Theland no longer in Carolina.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: He was traded back to Minnesota.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got some young guys at receiver and a veteran in Hunter Rhinfro.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Teteromic Millen rookie.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Xavier Leget, second year player, and you've got Hunter Rhinfro as the top three receivers.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis is going to be going up against Hunter Renn for quite a bit.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be an interesting match up to watch.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: Two vets there.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: The big injury news is E.K.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: M. Aquano.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: Carolina Panthers starting left tackle.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: Had an appendectomy last week.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: He is currently dead today.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Did not practice Wednesday.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: You also have Damian Lewis and Robert Hunt.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers two starting guards.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: listed as limited in Wednesday's practice.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: My guess, both of those guys play, my guess, you came to Kwanoo does not play.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: So that would mean either Brady Christensen or Yosh Niman would enter the starting lineup at left tackle.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, the Panthers would much rather have the Kwanoo their former top pick than not having.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: He is a tone setter in the run game.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great athlete.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: and the Panthers really like what they've seen from him.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars offense against the Panthers defense, switching sides of the ball there, is it going to be a big time game for Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: and Travis Hunter?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: is Liam Cohen going to be able to dial it up for those guys, and all the other ancillary pieces, Diami Brown, that running back room with Travis C.T.N.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: tank bigs to be basaltutantly quint Allen, while they dress all four running backs.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Britain's strange can he get involved in this one as well.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: He has been an underrated, under-talked about peace for the Jaguars all offseason, but somebody that within that building they have a lot of confidence in.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: the Panthers.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of new pieces on the defensive side of the ball.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Derek Brown, a all, you could argue all pro, definitely pro bowl caliber, defensive tackle is back.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: He missed a lot of last season with injury.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: J.C.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Horn, good to go.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: A very talented corner, top 10 corner in this league.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Young Ed Dressers, Prince Liumon Miel and a Nick Scorton.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Both of those guys have a lot of talent, draft picks this year.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Trayman Merrick on the back end comes over from the Las Vegas Raiders, he's somebody who brings that at a high level as well.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, they've got a lot of firepower, they've got Liam Cohen on their side, and he's one of the best young wide receiver duos in the game today, Trevor Lawrence looking to take a step forward in the consistency department after a little bit of a disappointing and injury-plugged 2024 campaign.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Looking at the Panthers' offense against the Jaguar's defense, Bryce Young, another former first overall pick, he got Bench last year, came back after Andy Dalton injury.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: And he actually played really well down the stretch.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: Looked like it was going to be the end of the road in Carolina for Bryce Young after he got bench, but that was not the case.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Dave Canalis did a good job handling that situation, shredding those waters, and you get Bryce Young back in the lineup later in the season.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: He plays very well down the stretch.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's throwing the ball down the field.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's attacking, he's making plays with his legs and his arm.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's good stuff.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: But no thealin, no coker.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: That means Teteroma McMillan.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Eighth overall pick in this year's draft really needs to step up.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Teterrow, McMillan, and Travis Hunter have history going against each other, so Travis Hunter on the defensive side of the ball.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: First Teterrow, McMillan is going to be fascinating if they get lined up against each other.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Teamack is a big physical receiver, who has a lot of skill, a lot of athleticism.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Warr is going to have to make sure they know where he is on every single play, then you've got Xavier Legat who is another big physical receiver who has speed to burn.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Hunter Rennfro, the veteran at slot.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers have a really good run blocking offensive line, one of the best in the business really.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're offensive line is much better in the run blocking department than they are in pass pro.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: They have pretty good backs.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Chuba Hubbard is
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: quietly, one of the most productive backs in the league, and he does a really good job bringing the intensity, executing his assignment, slipping tackles, busting off long runs.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have got to be able to tackle, they've got to be able to stop the run, if they're able to stop the run and force the Panthers into.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: passing situations, they'll have a chance to heat it up.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguar special teams, they need to be special, quite frankly.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Cam, little, set a record for the longest kick ever.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: 70-yard kick in the pre-season doesn't count.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: Can he get one of those in the regular season?
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the leg to do it.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Logan Cook is one of the best punters in the business.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe one of the best punters of all time.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: And Ross Madison, a all-probo caliber.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Long snapper.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: That combined with Heath far-well and all of the great core special teams players the Jaguars have, special teams needs to be helpful for the Jaguars in this one and throughout the 2025 regular season.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Look, if the Jaguars don't come out focused, I believe they will lose, because the Panthers have enough talent to compete with most teams if other teams let them hang around.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they are well coached on both sides.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Dave Canalis, their head coach is a very good offensive coach.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a zero.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Everrow on the defensive side, who is also a smart coach that I think will get the most out of his players most weeks.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: But if the Jaguars can get it done with alignment and assignment, not have a lot of mis-designments, be able to respond when adversity does strike, be able to recover from making, you know, they're not going to be perfect.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to have mental mistakes here and there.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Can they recover and respond to that adversity if they can, they will be in a very good spot.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: You saw it last year.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen's offense and Tampa had its way with the Panthers defense.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: Putting up a bevy of points in each of those games.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: But different personnel on both sides this year, Jaguar's versus Panthers week one at the bank.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a big time matchup and the Jaguars have a tough road ahead following this week one matchup in which they are actually favored.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: They have to go play the bingles and they play the Texans.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: 49ers and chiefs.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is a big one for the Jaguars in week one.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
