Transcript
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: We talked about everything from discovering nature to finding hidden off scale spots deep in the jungle to navigating the rest of freedoms and connection that comes with new hiking in an environment like this.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Juan's story is one of adventure, curiosity, and embracing who we truly are.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Even when it goes against the title norms.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: I think you guys are really going to enjoy this conversation with Juan.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Thanks for joining me.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Thanks for inviting me here.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Dude, absolutely.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I've been really looking forward to speaking with you because your experience is so different from a lot of other people's uh experiences, but it's really similar too in a lot of ways.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: But just the fact of your location and the legalities around you know being out in nature naked.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Um to start this off, can you introduce yourself and like who you are and kind of where you're calling from?
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: So I'm Juan.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: You can call me Body Netflix.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: That's my social media.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: That's where I expose everything that I do about Netflix and nourishing.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Um I come from Puerto Rico.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Um the part of the major Calipian islands, mostly non-nurist, you know.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Very few people.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: But small tropical island, lots of people, lots of beaches, really good climate, weather.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Uh today's like a big funny today, but it's really nice and cool.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: What's the uh what's the temperature there right now?
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Like right now, like because I'm on the right now I'm in June can of rainfall.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: So here's like I would say like a 70 between 70, 80 Fahrenheit.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: But if I go to my house, like this morning it was like like a 90, 95 degrees Fahrenheit, excuse me.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Um because I'm in the up in the mountains, the when it's colder, it's raining a little bit.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: And I'm also in the rainforest, so it's gonna be much cooler.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's awesome.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Your uh the pictures on your Instagram are really cool to see.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: You out in the jungle and like on different beaches and stuff.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: It's really awesome.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Uh huh.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: I have to tell you, that's illegal, like nobody I'm not impressed like to refer everybody like to do it.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Like, that's me being me.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: And I know what I'm doing because I know how the people react here.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: I know like who goes here and who's comfortable, comfortable with.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So I'm a little I got over the experience on how to manage and where to go and what time to go.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Because I cannot go like if I go to the beach, I'm not going like um where everybody goes like 11 3 a.m., 12 p.m.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: like lunchtime.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: So I go like 5 a.m.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: really early in the morning.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Everybody's like waking up, going to school, going to work, and I just go, I'm gonna take a little dining in the beach, take my dinner, and then go to work.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: Nobody goes there.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's awesome.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: That's me.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: So you're really when you go out, you're really intentional about where you're deciding to strip off and where you're going to uh be nude in nature just because the laws are so stringent around um public nudity where you're at.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: Like you have to be really careful, like the police have, like, they're probably gonna tell you, like, oh, put some clothes on, you know, or you're gonna have a seat, probably.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: Um, basically cases like people get in jail unless like you're protesting like in the streets or something like that.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: People go to jail for that.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: But it's like on like a beach or on the taking a walk on a hike on the forest, like if there's like nobody, you're good.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: But if there are people like families around, like of course you're gonna do that.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: And and you spoke about you spoke about knowing where to go and uh like when to go.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: So you go early mornings, it sounds like not peak hours or busy, busy times.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Um, what else do you look for in a spot when you're when you want to strip off and go be nude in nature?
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: So yeah, for spots that nobody goes to.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Like we like the whole Puerto Rica like has beat us all around.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: We have like hundreds of beaters, you know, in every corner of the island.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: But there are some beatings that they're a little more difficult to get to.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Or the I have this seat that nobody goes because you cannot like dig in it because of the current weight, but you have time.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: So I go there, I do my exercise.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Like I go I go do my bath, I go do my structure, but I cannot get in the water because it's too deadly for me because people have to die in that beach.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: So you have to be careful.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: So that beach nobody goes here because you cannot go into the water.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: So basically that it's it.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Or you go to a hike, many people like very few people do hike here.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: Like maybe are touring or they're doing like an event or something.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Because it happened one time, like we went to uh to go down area, no.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: Sort of the sort of trail pit during a junky, and it's a long trail, it's considered a hard trail, and not many people do it, but so that's why I always told that sometimes to walk naked over there.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: And this one time we said there's not gonna be many people, and then there was like a whole bunch of cars in Basica for the municipality decided to like do an event there of like people walking like promoting or walking because nobody walks anymore.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: That's not the norm.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: So interesting though or under closed like places that nobody goes to.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: And here we have a lot of sales, and then basically they're all bad.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: For for someone like myself, I've never been there.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: Can you paint me a picture of like what the hiking environment is like?
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Um like being in the jungle, it looks so cool.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: If you're with me I I'm the type of guy that doesn't like use the trail.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: If I see like uh, okay, you see the trail here, like this is the trail.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: I'm like, nah, nah, nah, nah.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna walk this way, see over there, okay.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna see that tree.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm gonna walk to that tree over there, then I'm gonna like continue.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: I bring the compass because I make it lost.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna get lost.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: That's uh guaranteed.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: So like I I like getting like off trails.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: Sometimes like I'm doing a front of something, like they don't have the experience, so I sent them like to one of my trails, like so we go hiking in the river, or if they felt like a little trail, like some places I they have a little trail.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: So it's mostly like made very modey or very rocky.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: So watch their steps because you may like this uncle or something.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: Um you can have easy trails and you can have high trail and you can have extreme trails.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: So it's kind of take your pick, whatever whatever you're looking for in an adventure.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I got you.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Um, do you guys have any like predator, like big predators that you need to worry about, or any anything in nature that's like you kind of go, oh, I need to look out for this while I'm out there?
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: Not exactly.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Uh right not right now.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: We have anaconda, like increased.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: We have basically introduced species.
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: There's no like endemic, like island endemic animal species that are very dangerous.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: We don't have that in terms of introduced species.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: Like the anaconda, the cayman.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Um, apparently we have scorpions.
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: So uh I would say that that's the most most common, like what they said you could be like bear walking.
- 9:48unknown: Like bear walking.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Uh ratchet or mongoose, I would say.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: But probably like a bear or a mountain lion or a snake, like banana snakes, we don't have much of those.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: But we don't have bear snakes in mountain lions.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: Snakes we have because people introduce them, and there are some like bananas going around, but they're very good as a for the anaconda, like the biggest snake.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: That that one is interesting overpopulating all around the island.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the anaconda.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the the big wild like this.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're crazy looking.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Um, and they're people have released them in Florida too.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: And I guess, you know, they're I've seen on on shows and stuff, people going after them or you know, seeing them.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: It would just be so wild to be be out there and see one in the wild.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Do you see those quite like frequently when you're out?
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: In my grandma's house, yeah, like he was like a 10 foot mom at the like my uncle was like on in the mountain and saw one, and I was like, oh, there's an there's one, there's one.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: Like everybody like my mom like started screaming, like, oh I'm not going there.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: I was like, okay, I I let's see how big it is, like let's grab it, put it in a bag, and then call like actually purpose like to pick it up and whatever you get.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: And it's just uh and my grandma has like an aguala and my side like a research for an appointment of species that like they dissect them, see what they're eating, they're starting them.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: And uh and after they're collecting all the species, if people call them, there's a group for that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: And it was like, okay, we're gonna grab it, like take some photos, okay.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: This is cool.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: Okay, now let's call that room because it's like for them to take it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's crazy.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: That's that's it'd be so weird to interact with something like that.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Um it's awesome.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: And especially you see like a gym then it's one of up here, like then it's they don't they're really like really like there's really little, there is then I'm saying, like they're scared of you.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Like they're scared of me.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Like they just like start running away from you.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they try and get away.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: But they really like them too.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: Like every time that I see one is like made it like this.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's that's cool.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: When did you discover naturism or nudism?
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Do you do you prescribe a to a label or do you just like being naked?
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Um, like I started like going to the to the vegan to the event forest, to the forest.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: It was like starting in product.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Like I I always have like a curiosity for new reason, not reason.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: But didn't have the previous like to go there by myself.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: Like sometimes like if anybody makes me a fever and stuff, so I kind of like I have the confidence I found that I I let's just go skinny deep in, you know.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: So after college, like I have more I was more liberated, I I have my own life now, so I can do whatever I want.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: So that's what I'm gonna do.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go virtual, I'm gonna get naked, I'm gonna start walk and enjoy the life.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Very cool.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: What was what was like the first time that you tried getting naked out in nature?
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Were you really nervous of doing that due to the legal restraints there?
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: At first, he was like, there's nobody here, not caring, so there's no problem.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: If I go like to a place that is more populated like that, at first he was like, okay, I'm gonna do it because I want to do it, like the experience, like oh, I got naked in this spot, and uh this is very populated spot, like many people go here, so I have to be careful.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: But now it's like, oh, somebody just said, Yeah, he keeps coming, whatever.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: He has a story to tell later on, like he saw another person in the favor.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, you know.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Now it's like whatever, I'm comfortable.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: If you're comfortable, let me be me, you know, so it's okay, but if you're like I'm some kind, I'm fine, probably fine put my time to back on.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: So you do you do operate with that respect?
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, no, no, of course.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: Like no reason here is like not very common and not many people like it, like they confuse it with sexism, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: So one I have to be careful, like I don't want to get up seed, don't want us to get in trouble.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: And some places, like, I wanted to keep it safe.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Some people like there's some places in Puerto Rico that people go for no reason.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: Like we it's unofficial, but for us it's like a sacred place, and we don't want to have any problems for it to continue.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Because once you lose a space, it's so much harder to regain access or regain the rights to do what you were doing there.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Well is that a uh the general attitude towards nudity uh where you're at, um is that due to like religious upbringing or or just culturally that's just the way it is there?
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: I think for sure that's the way it is.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Like you have the uh Christianity stuff, like you know, you have to be good person, close, nothing illegal.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: But I will say that that's a monarchy.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Like basically we were raised like to be close.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: The idea of being naked outside or naked uh socially, that's a no-go for us.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: So it's like uh try to change the mind, change the aspect of life is like very difficult for because we're very from somebody, like like everybody is so it's kind of difficult like to change that that mindset when we have generations of generations of doing the same thing.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and no no one really deviating from that storyline.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Do you uh do do you what what made you want to I don't want to say be different, but push against that that uh cultural attitude towards nudity of people not really liking it?
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: What made you want to go and do it?
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Just your personal desire and and whatnot?
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Yes, like a personal desire, but I I'm like a very curious person.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: So I was like, okay, I'm gonna start this social media about nudity, about my experience, about my what I do as a nudist, and I'm gonna like change it up a little.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Like it's not like a photo, you know, easily.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: It's like uh trying to change the aspect of what everybody does.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Like I do something different, like people just take a like a photo and and watch like the the landscaping.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: And I was like, no, no, I'm gonna go walking, like I go with a friend, let's go in the vivo, let's jump, like try to change it up a little, and then tell a story of how wages music can be.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: It doesn't need like to be like be so sad or no, you can do everything but without clothes, and that's what I'm showing.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's awesome.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: I love that because that's exactly what the world needs to see is good representation of what non-sexual nudity is, and nudity in nature um really provides a great space to do that.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: And you do it well, I think.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: Um you don't have to be a model, like I see a lot of people like following models about nudity, and they're just like, I'm just working, I'm just doing my my very own life, and I like I can do the thing, I can cook, I can play, I can dance, I can jump, you know, run and just be like every normal person go, but we like yeah.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's awesome.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: You mentioned that there aren't really official nude spaces or beaches, but people still find ways to be nude out in nature, whether that's going to the beaches or other sacred special spots.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Um is there a sense of community at those places, or is it kind of more everyone's just cautious and it's under the radar and people just keep to themselves?
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: No, at least the there's like through unofficial gate, like the well for what I ha I have seen, the Mudish community here in Puerto Rico are mostly gay men because they're so comfortable about their body, they're more open-minded, and when you see like a straight guy, it's that now.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: So most of these speakers they're like for gay people.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Like we'll see gay people expressing their body, expressing themselves in the way that they want.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: But and I think those are like the reasons like we have new beaches because they were big, they are the ones that conquer it.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: I would say they were the ones like okay, you're gonna stay here, you're gonna be naked.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: If you have a problem, that's not my problem.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: And then the after year, like everybody goes to those two spots, like there's two beaches for us to be naked, and people like you see like a blog and stuff, and like you start like researching when you're curious about meeting, like you start like researching our hours, like the new beaches in Puerto Rico, like just new places in Puerto Rico, and automatically you can you will see like there are two beaches, and you and you start like okay, and when I get the time, so I'm gonna visit those beaches to see what it is, and people like seriously go there, like and they send to me like, oh, I saw it on like on the internet, like this is it, apparently it's moody.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: So I just wish and see what is it about, you know, just passing by and people like it.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Unless their family and the police tell you like clothes on, you know.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and the family meets like you you look you can do whatever you want.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, interesting.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Have you had any like close run-ins when you're out?
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Like, have you ever been caught or had some sort of a problem while you're out hiking in the jungle?
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Problem, problem, no.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: Like, I have seen people like basing me hiking, and they were like, Oh, this happened.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: Sorry, my bad.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: But yeah, this happened.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: But I have to do that.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: So nothing nothing major.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Like basing in there is like, oh, a fit guy with an apple running around.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: But if you're like an and I'm young, or if you like like an older guy, he's probably gonna get more in trouble.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: Because I'm gonna people see me like, oh, he's doing teenager stuff.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: I'm not a teenager anymore, so but yeah, that's yeah, that's that's the Do you think things will ever shift culturally there towards nudity?
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Just in your personal opinion, do you see a uh kind of an uptick or is it kind of just staying the same?
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: People confuse movie with secretion and the new streets here.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: They're all about sexation and activity anything.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: They're not for the social policy, make it hard.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: And having a good time.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: There's have to be like a sexual aspect for everything.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: So I don't think it's gonna shame.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Many people think that way.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: But that's like a that's uh problem that I would say the happy in Cantabria.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's um that's unfortunate to hear.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because many people like our son probably knew this and they like seeing it or you know, that kind of stinky stuff.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Don't wanna go there, you know.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Do you do many people in your life know that you do this or is it more just kind of a secret and you go do it?
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: At first it was a secret because then I started like open up to some friends and they know they followed my face and they were like, oh.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: At first they were like, okay, at first they were like, okay, I wasn't expecting this, but it makes sense.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: The way you talk, the way you your lifestyle.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Now everything makes sense.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Like you're walking naked in the forest.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's one.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: That's it's cool when you get to tell um your friends and the people around you.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Were those conversations easy to have with them?
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: Like when you brought it up, was it kind of awkward or was it I don't know, how'd that go?
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: I was not very after like what happens, happens, like, you know, if they get mad, they feel uncomfortable.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: Well, I know I'll beat the topic again.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: Or if there's like, oh, I want to join in sometime, you know, one of your hikes, and of course you're invited sometime when we they get together, you wanna go hiking, so we go hiking.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: But at first you have to really like I didn't feel uncomfortable, but I didn't know how they would react.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: But most of my generations, they're really open-minded, like we have to about everything coming around.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: So I shouldn't be still afraid of telling them how I feel about nudity, how I feel comfortable being mooded and around them.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: And if they feel comfortable, it's okay.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: They're my friends and don't want to feel being uncomfortable.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: What would you say to someone who's curious about non-sexual nudity and or trying non-sexual nudity but is afraid of like judgment or consequences from from going and trying that?
- 25:01SPEAKER_02: Well, if you think about consequences, try looking for a picture that there's no consequences, like try looking for quality cases that are safe to do it, and you shouldn't be like impossible doing it.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: You know, feel free.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: You just be you on your own mind, and if people like it and just feel comfortable, so then you could go.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: And if uh the place starts to feel like okay, this is kind of easy, like people are starting to like be like look straight at me and I'm very uncomfortable.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: So like that's not the place for doing it.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: But also now, like you have to separate from here.
- 26:03unknown: Yeah.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Like you don't have to like criticize or like I speak for somebody, like, oh, this is my business, like now I have to be looking at like no no, you know, don't be like that.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: You go like okay, no problem.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: I just leave my face, you go your way, I go my way, you're good.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, you just you just on the uh on the fly in the moment.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: You decide this is good, nope, it's not feeling good.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: I should probably move on, and then you you find a new spot.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Um before we wrap up, do you have any like favorite hiking memories or hiking moments that just really stand out to you as one of your favorite nude hiking moments?
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Hiking moments.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, I feel like I always say if I go on a trail and I see something new, that's a good trail.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: That's that's a good thing.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Because sometimes like I don't see a snake like falling around the trail or in the trees, and or there's uh there was a slug, there's a concentration slug it from down here.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: It's a little green transparent slug.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: And I I did find that like in a little trunk of a tree, like it was all shoot up, and I was like started like looking the trunk for no reason, and then I saw like this slug laying egg.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: And I was like, oh my god, like look at this, it's it's the slug and it's laying egg, and I was so so excited for a little slug laying this leg on this trunk inside of it, and I was like, This is a good day.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, another time I was hiking, and there's like this um this region, it's not very common to see it, and I was like walking like in the middle of the forest, and then one moment I see the bird like I see like something flapping around me, and then like it gets close to me, like almost to my face, and then it just cracked up.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: And I could see like like 10 feet away from me, and I was like, what just happened?
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: Oh wow, let me see.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: Like, I grabbed my phone, I have to like take a picture of this bird because it won't like a I think it's called the quail chegan.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Like they go, like they come from the when like it's like winter in the United States, like they call Puerto Rico.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, they uh they they like migrate down there.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: Migrate that that's a migratory bird and migratory change.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: And it just I was like, oh my god, you almost attacked me.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: And it's like in front of me, like I have to take a picture.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: And sometimes things like that happen so later, like when you're walking like off hills, like the animals know, like, okay, what's this?
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: This is new, and they see me and they really get close.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: I have banana kids like getting very close to me because they think like these shows nobody goes to, like, there's no one, no one has worked in like ancestral, like this is ancestral land.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: Nobody has walked here in ages, and they see like, oh, there's a human.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, I gotta get close.
- 29:37SPEAKER_02: Like, that's to see it, and then get close.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, I'm gonna go back to my sheet.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I love that uh you slow down enough to take in the small moments.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Um, whereas if you're just rushing by and then not really being grateful and enjoying those small moments, you don't get to experience them and see them like the slug.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: You would have never seen that flug laying eggs if you were just cruising by and just yeah, and then other things.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: So that that's really cool.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: Here in Fanta Riga, like here in a junkyard, there's like at first when I started like hiking around here naked, I got like all my arms, my body, like scratches all over, ratchets, because they have like banana plants, they're like just like a star grass, they keep costing you very heavily.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: And when I started, I was like, I didn't care uh nothing in the world, I just want to go walking, nothing care, but then I started like I know this plant is venomous, I know these other plant is venomous, and you have to be very cautious when walking now because you're naked, you don't want to get hurt.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: And at first I was like, oh, cover up with crack and some stuff, and then you start like to know like to perceive, to see the environment.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: You have to like look very carefully where you sit.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: You don't want to like step on a banana sense, but I have I'm the type of guy like you see a banana slice, I'm gonna like rub it in.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: Because I think like you can like get some defenses out of it, and I did get some defenses out of it, like eventually.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: Now like like I haven't hyped so much in eight, I haven't hyped that much, and I know like I touched one of those, they're gonna it's gonna get very wet.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: But they were so funny in my life that I just touched it, nothing happened.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: And one of the most like the venomous gun was plant instead of like getting the rest in three hours, I had the rest like in two or three days.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: Stuff like that.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: So you have to be like very careful, very perceptive on where you're walking and what you're walking because nature is nature, like they're not gonna say that don't add.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: If you get hit, they're gonna get hit.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: They don't care.
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: If they're chaotic, like that's the way of nature.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: So you have to adapt to it.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: Yep, no, you're you're so right.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: I am I have uh I have slapped like my hand into a cactus here in Arizona and basically stapled a cactus to my hand and had to pull it, pull it off.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: And it was like, yep, yep, you need to slow down and watch what you're doing and look around.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: And uh that's right.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I totally relate to that and I love that.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: Um, is there anything that we didn't go over or talk about that you wanted to talk about or that you want to bring up?
- 32:48SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know, but I always feel like for invitation, like if you're like visiting Puerto Rico, hit me up, buddy next to it.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: Um I always love like to tell people where to go.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: Like many people have like asked me where oh, where are the naked places or where do you go to be naked?
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I also want to like have the experience and if you have the time, like you know, we can go together, and I have no family that we have the if I have the time.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: That's another topic.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: But awesome.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I'm I I'm trying to do like an event.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna do a running event probably in August, like a little fight case run, like naked trail run.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Because I have to- Oh, that's awesome.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: So I like I'm trying I'm gonna try to do uh here whoever wants to like make it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: I I know some friends like they have told me like, oh, you have to do like a naked run here, you know, like try to make an event.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: Because many people like want to want to do one, like they see like the fighting round in the US or in Europe, and they were like, you should do one here, like there are places, like they're hikes here that nobody goes to, like, let's do one, you know.
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: And I like, yeah, I'm gonna say like post one.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: I don't know how it's gonna end, but my shows are a little they're demanding the running, but you can walk it, you know, see the finary, and then maybe I give you like a commemorative medal to make it official.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: But yeah, do some stuff uh out of the ordinary.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: I love the out-of-the-ordinary thinking, and like that there is not the opportunity for you to do that, so you're just going to take that on and do it yourself, which is really badass.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: Um keep me posted on that.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: I would love to hear more about that.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: Uh I keep you posted on to eventually happen.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: Dude, yeah, absolutely.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Well, uh, we're gonna wrap it up here.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: So I really appreciate you like coming on, and I respect how you're living your life and showing up there and the way that you show up online for non-sexual nudity and sharing your adventures out in nature because uh a lot of people are really looking for that energy, and you just you do great at promoting it, and it's really cool to see your your posts and your stories that you share.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: Um, I think that's gonna resonate with a lot of people.
