Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to another great episode of Crushing Strongholds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power, trauma into triumph, and a place where we get to just expose the lies of the enemy.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: And today I'm really excited and we're going to change things up a little bit.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: And I'm bringing a guest that I've already had on my show before, but I wanted to bring him on and have a discussion about his podcast and our podcast that we did together and kind of share with all my listeners here on Crushing Stormholes, kind of like what we've been doing and what we're getting out of it and how it's helping us to overcome obstacles and strongholds that we face with the podcasting world.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: So I want to bring on Javier Malav, and I'm so glad he's a friend.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: He's a great guy.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: So welcome in, Javier.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Come in and say hi.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you for having me on.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: This is pretty cool when you get to be on the other side, right?
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We both uh are uh hosts, and it's different when you're a guest, it's a whole different thing to be a guest or a host.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, uh what you just mentioned, um our little uh life excursions that we decide to do when we become podcasters.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Um how's it changed my life?
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Um pretty much I think it's changed us tremendously.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Uh ways that I never thought I would have changed.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Um I've become more faith-driven, more more in search of God uh because my podcasts represent Him.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And for not doing that, it's almost not doing your due diligence in uh preparing yourself.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Um and that's made me grow more because you have to read the Bible in order to understand who you're gonna talk to, what you're gonna talk to.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: And it's made me research more and look more and uh actually look inside myself a lot on where I've been, where we've been.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, when we first started, uh and I I I did compass by myself for like almost four years.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: And when you came on, I there was something about me that I I need a host, I need a co-host, I need someone that I can bounce off of and actually do these live shows or these face-to-face videos.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Um because I'm not one to stand and look at the screen and say, No, no, I can't do that.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I like to have conversations, talk back and forth.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: And uh we had spoken before and um through uh Rory and everything else, and you were the first one to actually say, Yeah, let's do it.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Really?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: All right, cool.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Like, I was almost like, okay, does she know what she's getting herself into?
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: You know, and I think she may regret this one, but um, no, I I really am blessed that you are part of this whole um how do you call it, this whole adventure or journey that we're both on.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Uh, we both have our lives that we have to really live, but during these times we have a little bit more peace when we all when we do this, there's a little bit of a breakaway of real life per se.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, I I think it's it's blessed me in a lot of ways.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: So what do you think has been the most difficult part of um, you know, you know, we're we're both Christians, we're both faith believers.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: What happens when you um have a guest come on?
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Um, I know that you've encountered this because we've talked about it, but have have had a guest come on, and it just kind of doesn't line up with your Christianity.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And so now you're kind of feeling like, you know, I really want to stand behind my faith.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And no matter what, I'm not gonna alter a budge on that.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Um, and not to be argumentative or confrontational with people, but you know, still have conversation and still show the love of Jesus, even though you disagree with somebody else's choices in their, you know, their religious journey.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: How do you cope with that?
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Well, as we spoke before, I had a a little bit of an experience um and someone was on that we unfortunately did not click when it came to belief and faith.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Um, very different, way different perspective than I have.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: But uh the way I dealt with it was uh first I I was praying through the whole uh uh discussion only because I I don't want to be a rude person and say, click, you know, or or you know, lie and said, Oh, well, you got technical issues.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Uh I think when things like that happen, I think it's God putting those in front of you to show who you really are.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Are you willing to stand up for me?
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: My hair stand up because are you willing to risk that?
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm not gonna say that I stood there and told this person, Well, Jesus, no, but what I did was a nuanced whenever the person's talked about sort of a meditation or anything like that, I put in prayer.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: When someone says to speak about your inner self, I said the Holy Spirit.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: So I always try to bring back the point of the show where it's about faith.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and and you know, I want people to understand our shows are faith-driven.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: We talk to anyone, anyone about anything.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: But when it comes to our faith, that's non-negotiable.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: That will be always be a standard.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Now we don't ask people to talk about it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: If you do not feel comfortable, we're not ever, we never are the ones to say, Well, what is your denomination?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: What's your faith?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: How do you read the Bible?
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: That I don't care about.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I care about more of your character, you who you are, what you've shown.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Um, so to me, it's not important your accolades, much important means your nature and who you are.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: And I think by doing that, by sticking to our guns like we do, we're actually showing that you can still have the turn the cheek thing, but still stand your ground.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what Jesus showed us when he said change, you know, give the other cheek.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's about being submissive, I think it's about standing your ground no matter how beat up you get, how attacked you get.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: You stand there and just all right, here, give me another one.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: I can take it.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Give me another one, I can take it.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: You know, I think that's why he gives me the strength.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: And that interview was very weird, very strange.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: It was not a place I like to be in, but I think it showed me that, you know, where we where we need to fix and what we need to learn.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Uh, that made me a little bit more wanting to learn more on how to defend my faith, more of uh apologetics, uh, that kind of thing.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: That made me that discussion made me that, yeah, I gotta step up my apologetics.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I gotta step up, you know, uh quotes that I can give or Bible verses that I can give to sort of contradict certain things in a lovable way, right?
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: We don't want to be like, well, Jesus is, you know, no, we don't want to do that.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Even though sometimes we wish we could, yeah, because it's so stubborn, uh, I still don't get it.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, it's it's it's a weird, how do you do that?
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: If have you encountered that before?
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Or um I've spoken with somebody that was um kind of moral, not really necessarily against Christianity.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: They were just a new Christian, but they still were adhering to a lot of their old ways and their old their old um being.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And so it's it's interesting when you're trying to shift from who you were to who you are when you become saved.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Um, we hang on to a lot of habits that we formed over the years, you know, and it's kind of hard to get passives.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, I interviewed a person that was just like, um, he's like, Yeah, I went to church and I got saved, and that was it.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay, that's like point blank in the story.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: And I was like, that's all you want to say about it, you know.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I want I was like getting excited.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I was excited, I was like, Well, welcome to the kingdom.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: I was so excited for you.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: But I was like, but he wasn't excited, or yeah, I mean he wasn't, it wasn't, and I was just like, okay, and I was I was kind of stumped, I didn't know what to do with that.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Now I'm just yeah, and now I'm just running the whole show.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I really wanted you to run the show and you know, tell us about you.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: And and and you know, I kind of was hoping, you know, just by hearing a story that he'd be excited, but he was just kind of like really um really nonchalant.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh man, and what do I do with this, you know?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: But you know, I just would ask him, you know, try to ask him faith-driven questions.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And what I found is he would just keep repeating the same thing.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh man, I'm just having to repeat, you know, everything he said.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was like, we're not getting anywhere.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like a little bit dragging, and I felt and and it was really crazy because in my mind I had all of these other questions I was gonna ask.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: And as soon as we started recording, I don't know if you've had this happen, but they were like gone.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: All these great questions.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm gonna ask this, this, this, this.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all of a sudden you're like blank, like or if they throw aside, like they did, they some they deviate, and you're like, oh, whoa, okay, okay.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: How do I bring them back?
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: How do I and then you're like lost?
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: I I've done that so many times.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: I I think I did it the day before yesterday.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: The one that I had alone, I kind of deviated.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, oh, oh, wait, wait, wait.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And then I, you know, they it it's rough when the other person does a reciprocate, doesn't talk back.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Um, and there's also the ones that don't stop talking.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all they do is talk, which is fine because that's what we have them on for, right?
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but you want to try and get a word word in edgewise, right?
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: You want to keep the conversation flowing because uh I realize a lot of people are just trying to promote their stuff or which is fine, that's great.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: But you know, there's our shows have meat.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: We want to feed people, we don't want to just give them the candy.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think um we're we're doing that.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: That's why the compass went from just faith and just from faith fandom to uh three multiple, you know, uh entities now.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Um because there's so much subject to talk about, there's so much things that Christians can talk about, and and so many aspects where faith is part of life.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Um you know, so that's I think that's been our our uh our goal, and I think we've been hitting that goal.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: We've been really meeting a lot of interesting people uh that I thought I would never meet or would never speak to.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Um but I've also been blessed by meeting a lot of people.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Um you in general and and Rory and and Mr.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: U and and the gentleman uh in the uh round table, men's round table, and people that uh follow me on Instagram or whatever, that we communicate in that way.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Um, I think it's a blessing when you know you have those on you.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: And it's also a very big responsibility, right?
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Because we now have a face.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: We are now in the world, right?
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: We are now showing everybody who we are, yeah.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: As transparent as we can.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: So you have to hold up that.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: And that for me, I don't know about you, but for me, it's kind of tough sometimes to keep that momentum per se.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: How do you do that?
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you feel when you know you feel like uh I don't know?
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: One thing I thought was exciting is like um I loved that you shared a lot of the the views and uh responses that people gave that that were guests on our show.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: And um it's so enlightening and exciting when you read those.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: But what it does for me, and I don't know about you, um, is it in it for one, that encourages me to go further.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Um, but sometimes we feel, you know, well, I don't feel, I think, you know, I hope did that conversation go well?
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: I think it was a good conversation, but you're not 100% sure until you get that review.
- 11:38unknown: Right.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And then you're like, oh yeah, that was, you know, I'm glad that they got you know something out of it.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: It was a good conversation.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: I don't want to just to you know, have a conversation just to blab.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: You know, I want it to be meaningful, like you said, that meet is so important.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: We want to have um connection, we want to have um it to be interesting and exciting, and and um because if not, people aren't one, aren't gonna want to listen, and two, right, um, you know, we just just don't want to be, you know, talking ourselves in circles, basically.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: But with um Compass Chronicles, um, what I love about that is because you you have such a diverse, you know, topic topics, they're not all like like with crushing strongholds, it's it's about people that are telling their testimonies of how they overcame um strongholds or obstacles in their life that have held them back.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: And here with Compass Chronicles, you have a variety of topics of discussion.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And Crushing Strongholds is going to be shifting into a three-part series, which I know you're gonna help me with all of that, the logos, because you're the guy.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: You're the guy that helps me with all my stuff.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: So I'm definitely gonna be, you know, calling on you for that.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: But um, and anybody listening, if you need it, you Javi Eager is the guy you need to get in touch with.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: He's great.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Um doing logos and um your your fronts to your to your podcast starts, you know, you know, your music, whatever, he can do it all of that for you.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: He's really good.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: And anyway, um, but it's interesting how you're you were able to shift it, uh but still all under Compass Chronicles, basically, but yet make it more diverse, other than just one one baseline.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Does that make sense?
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: So, what gave you the idea to do it that way instead of keeping them like like I have four separate podcasts and they are all four separate, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: You know, and I'm like, man.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: I have you first I have to give Rory his props.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: He's the one that literally told me, you know, you have a lot of stuff, we just have to streamline it and make it to the point where it's feasible, it's workable, we can manage it.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm not gonna tell people what the the secret is that you can reach out to Rory and he will be more than glad to reach out and talk to you about it.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I recommend it if you really are serious about podcasting or any media, multimedia, anything you want to do, I recommend see uh reach out to Rory.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Rory Paquette, by the way.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Uh Rory, if you're listening, shout out my brother.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Right on, right on Rory.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Um, so he was the one that mentioned because I was looking at starting all these different podcasts, right?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: We we've talked about this.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: I've had this idea, this idea, this idea.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: And I realized I cannot, in all that I want, I cannot manage that by myself.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: And I cannot in my mind create an episode for each single one.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I just can't do that.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: And I was really driving myself crazy doing that.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: I was trying to figure out where to go.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Log, you know me, logos, everything else.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: And uh I realized Compass is literally what Compass is putting directions to people in all different places and pulling them all together to one thing.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: So I said, I love comic books, I love pop culture, but I also love reading and writing.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: And compass is my faith, so why not split it?
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And that's when we created uh Simpson Scripts actually, people are gonna laugh, but Simpson Scripts was actually going to be the name of the merch store that I wanted to sell just cups and journals.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: But for some reason it became part of the literature and the writing part.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Um, so that's why, and then with that, I can we can touch so many people, right?
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: We can touch our faith, we can touch our authors or writers, and we can touch our people who love pop culture, which is not wrong.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: They love their movies, they love their TV.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: As long as it's not your God and you're all for all, then yeah, it's it's a beautiful thing.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And I think we've managed that really well.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, me and you uh talking to people, uh we tend to bring so many subjects into a conversation, right?
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: So it's not it's not easy when you want to separate them because damn, it really sounds good right here.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, but that really sounds good for this one.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: So, you know, then that and then that's when I decide, you know what, it's just gonna be compass.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: It'll be under the compass.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna split it, let it just be one, and then people can, you know.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: So um, so yeah, that's uh it's been an uh exciting but scary road.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: And and I'll and the reason I'm saying scary is because I'm seeing the fruits now.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And when you start seeing the fruit, your fear of failure or accomplishment really starts to mess up because you're seeing the fruits.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh my god, this is real, like this is happening, you know, and it's exciting but scary because now it's a big responsibility now.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: You know, you're the face of a brand, you're a face of you're you're a representative of who God is.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Uh if you're not a Christian and you want to do a podcast, that's fine, I don't care.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: But as us as faith believers, and our thing, it's it's our job and our duty to at least have that part of our podcasts, um, or anything we do, any um how you call it, uh, content creation.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: And this this goes for all content creators, um, writers, anybody who does anything that people will see or read, and you are a Christian, you have a huge responsibility.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Uh like you said, my yoke is heavy, but it won't kill you.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: And uh that's the way I see it.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: It's heavy, and you know that we've been through, we're like, I don't went through this one.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: But then I realize there's a reason.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: If one person can listen to our shows and say, you know what, let me think about God a little bit.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: If that happens, our job is done.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: You can turn off all our podcasts because the job is done.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: That one person made it to the kingdom, you know, because God opened that door through you to connect to that person.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: So that's the way I see it now.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: That's a really, really great response, actually.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: I do want to ask you one more question, and that is so as faith believers with which we both are, and um, we really are trying to, you know, um just we want to let people know who Jesus is at, you know, every single day.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: And I know that you like to use AI, and I know some people are or you know, as Christians, they we worry about AI, and so they worry about like how can I, you know, how can I balance, you know, wanting to learn more about AI, but yet I want to I want to um adhere to to what the Bible says and I want to keep my structure and my faith.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Now I know that you have a a project that you've been working on.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: I think you said you just finished it, and I want you to tell us about that and how AI, how you use AI with your faith, and how you don't let it get away from you where AI becomes your idol and you know you keep God at the top.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Well, that that that's a whole episode in itself with AI.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: But um I am a huge, huge uh lover of AI.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I enjoy AI, and the reason I say I enjoy it is because I'll give an example.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: I can't draw for the life of me.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: I can't draw a straight line if you paid me.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: But I have an imagination, I have a huge imagination, and AI has given me the ability to put that on there, to put my vision on there and see it come to life.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: That said, honestly, I understand artists and everything else, but when you don't have four, three, four hundred dollars or six hundred dollars to create a design that you want when you can do it yourself, that's it's a beautiful thing.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Now, when it comes to my faith, two things it's like anything you do, religion or faith can be used in any bad way.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: It can be anything you do in life can be used in a wrong way.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: People have used the Bible in in the wrong way, have used Christianity in the wrong way, and obviously AI can be used in a very nasty, evil way.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: I've seen that, but I've also seen how it communicates with people when you put up something that resonates with that person, uh, and that art resonates, or that quote that you added to the art, that Bible verse.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Either way, somebody's looking at it, somebody's reading it, somebody's, you know, and that's the whole point that I use the AIs to get uh Christ out to everyone who will just look at it.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: You don't have to listen to me.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: I'm not asking you to listen to our podcast or not.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Just read the quote, read the Bible, read, read a verse that I just put in there.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's the way I see uh and like you said, I have a project coming out.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Um, so everyone stay tuned, it'll be out soon enough.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: And it's it's a um it's a workbook, sort of a uh uh course, not even a course, I have to say.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it could be a course.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: It's gonna have um how churches can use AI and not be afraid of losing their faith or messing with their ministry and how to use it in a positive way.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: So I give uh prompts, I give um history on the on what the AI is, the dangers of the AI, uh, and this is all for people in ministry.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: So it for pastors, for you know, children's services, whatever you need, um, you can use that.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, not everyone has an art person in their in their church.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Some churches are very, very uh, they don't have the finances.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: So if they can come up with a nice flyer for themselves off the net and just print it, you know, not everyone can afford to buy, pay a printer, you know, six, seven hundred dollars to print out flyers.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Well, now you can all you can do is just put up, design it, and print it out on your own and give them out.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: So what you're wasting is really much just paper.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: Um, so that's the way I want I want pastors to and anyone in ministry not to be afraid of it.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Um you know, there is, and I've always said this the biggest person who ever created God created us, that means he created our imagination, he created our creativity, he made this earth.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: I keep telling people, God made this earth.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: So how in the world, if we put it made us in his image, he's not gonna give us that gift of imagination, of wonder, of desire, interest.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: And AI has given a lot of people the opportunity to do that, um, you know, to share their word, to share.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: their ideas to share their faith um and i i just uh see it as a benefit um but i also see it as a depriment because people get lazy very lazy um and when you start using it to um replace a pastor replace a written sermon to replace a bio no when you have the ai write your sermon no then then you're working you're not working on it you're actually using it in a negative way but in the in my workbook the prompts will always state this bible verse this idea i just want ideas that's it it's pretty much ideas not write this for me um because a lot of people do that and and there are a lot of pastors I mean there was a lawyer who just got in trouble for going on chat GPT and finding a supposed uh law and it was actually not true it's not even stated and he brought that to court he put in a brief this is a lawyer lawyer's been around 30 years went in and put this brief in and the judge goes uh this doesn't exist this isn't real and that's where the danger is imagine you're the lawyer and you're making up stuff I wouldn't want you to defend me I might as well go to jail what's the point so it can be used for the wrong things um but I am a big uh a backer of uh AI well I keep saying AI but AI is so big now it's so broad everything has artificial intelligence now our phones our cameras our day to day um it's here to stay it's only gonna get bigger and bigger but how do you go with that right um churches have to not change but bend with the times not change I'm not telling you to change what you believe will break but you have to bend a little because if you want to attract certain people or you want to speak to certain people sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone a little bit and attract those people so yeah that's you know I know a lot of people hate AI a lot of people make and and they all have their valid points but in my opinion uh it's something I use a lot of so I I like to use AI I like to have fun with it I I look at AI and I just want to put this out and um um for for our listeners but I use AI as a tool like I'm an artist I if if I don't have a paintbrush in my hand I can't put them I can't put the paint on the canvas or you know however I apply the paint um I use it as a tool I use it as a mechanism to help me is it going to make me who I am no is it going to change my characteristic no those are the things I question when I use AI is this changing me or am I changing it so I get my idea I'll get some ideas from it um like when I post my podcast for instance when I drop my script before I drop you know when I drop my podcast I like it because it helps me format the words that I want to say and I actually talk to chat GBT and say this is what I want it to say help me help me to say it more professionally or more with more tact or you know in case I say a word you know the wrong word give me the right you know correct terminology because sometimes I get tongue twisted and my brain goes you know sideways so it helps me it's a it's a it's a great tool um to use in a lot of different areas it's great for helping you with editing it's good helping you with um ideas even on launching a business it'll it'll help you with so many things now my only worry is like you said the lawyer you can't just grab it and go okay now this is this is me because that's a lie we don't want to live in the lie we want to be truthful and it's not to replace people or not to use it as a replacement tool it's to be a help tool and I think that's where people get into the worry is like I'm gonna be replaced by this and I've seen commercials I know a gal that does commercials um in Kingdom Builders Academy and she does commercials and she sent out a commercial that was completely all AI and she goes well now the AI is doing the commercials I'm out of a job and so I was like oh man that really that kind of hit me a little bit and I thought that's you know that's horrible but she could also use AI to help her do her her own commercials if she wanted she can be on there make her own commercials yeah yeah and that but she was like no my job got taken away from it you know because of AI and so we have to uh you know in this world we need to be mindful that we're not replacing people with technology we're using technology to help us better who we are as people right you know and and encourage us to you know to gain more knowledge and to learn I've learned so much from I know it sounds ridiculous because Chat GPT is not a teacher but I've learned a lot from AI I've learned a lot from you you've taught me a lot Rory has taught me a lot you know and it's like I would personally rather learn more like one-on-one from you and Rory.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: I love that but of course you guys don't have 24 hours in a day to sit and teach me everything I need to learn.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Chat GPT does help in some of those areas and then I take it to you or I take it to Rory and go, what do you think about this idea?
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: And we put it into play and make it effective to make it to show my character or your character.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: And I think that that's where we need to be very mindful when we're playing around with AT or chat GPT or any AI, any platform, you know and um it could be Gemini it could be anything you know whichever one you're using or if you're using multiple it's okay.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of different things you could do with each one which you've taught me that you've been you've taught me like four different AIs.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: I'm like I didn't know about that one you know and as I get in there and I venture out I'm you know I enjoy it I have fun with it I can see why you like it.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: I mean it's exciting and I'm like oh I just turned this into this and this is so cool you know and this is going to help me and um I love all that but again I know from I know from my perspective that I'm not going to allow that to take the place of humanity the human connection so I'm still gonna go to you and be like hey you know I have an idea what do you think about this and then we'll play with it and then we'll you know we communicate same with our podcast we communicate about what we're talking about who we're having on our show how we're keeping our podcast you know faith based right and all of that and I think it's real important that we continue to do that when we're working with AI and just having our listeners understand that just because we use AI doesn't mean we're replacing anything or anyone we're just using it as a tool to help us to grow.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: And I think it can help us grow immensely.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: I mean in my and just in me I know I've grown a lot I've I've been able to learn how to program I've I've always wanted to learn how to program now I can program I can write a a program to generate whatever I want um and it teaches me.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: So but I also see where AI people become complacent and they become lazy because honestly it will it can it can do everything for you.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: You can literally get an AI that will run your emails your phones your everything and that's where the human part is lost.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: That's I think the disconnect now uh in reference to the young lady who said that she lost her job because of the AI but that can be said for any type of automation.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: When the cars when they started using robots with cars they lost a lot of people lost jobs.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately that's the way of advancement that's the way of making things you know um how do you call it I mean we can go to the farmers when they used to have to hire people to pick up their their crops now they have a crop machine that just goes and done.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: So technology is good and technology is bad.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: It's it's a it's a 50-50 and it's how you use it.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: So like we can use anything but I can take the Bible right now and totally change the word or the text of the word and the context and make you believe that it's what it is.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: I mean we see this in cults we see this in new age we see this in all this stuff so that's the way I see I I uh appreciate AI in its way I respect it.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: That's the word I was looking for I respect AI yeah because it can be I've created things like oh my god like there's no way this can be right like there's no way like oh that's scary because it is it's just and for me it's just the science behind it the whole like we grew up where we had that's how we played Atari and all of a sudden we have these games and these things that look real life.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah and it's just to me it's exciting it's always been that way for me.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: So yeah I I love it I do like the excitement behind it um and I and I I I love that you said respect.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: Just respect it because then you don't you know you don't become obedient to it.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: It you know you have obedience over it and it doesn't have obedience over your life.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: And you still keep God as the head you know not the tail God is in charge all the time.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: And I like the scripture you know 2 Corinthians where it says you know um cast your imaginations or not cast your imaginations uh uh take your thought captive and take it to the knowledge of God so everything that we have in our imagination all of our thoughts if we're lining them up with God he's all for it he is completely for it like if you if you're if you're into AI and you're designing something and and you take it like to you know to the word of God and it lines up it's okay.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: I think there's nothing wrong with it.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: It's totally completely fine and you're gonna be completely okay with it if that makes any sense.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah that's that and that's what we want people to the the Christians or the church or any not to be afraid of it.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: Embrace it.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's necessary now in this world we have it's necessary.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah so one one more question then we'll we'll we'll bounce out of here but I just wanted to say um again you're doing great work your work is amazing I love it um I hope that um anyone that needs any type of um logo or like I said prompt music prompt before after your your your show um or you need any type of anything like that like even a flyer um Javier can make it for you he's really good he's very creative um if you just tell run it tell him what your ideas are he will he will show you what he can come up with and he's really good at it um and he's very reasonable what I love about that is he's not gonna take you right to the bank and take your whole account he's so reasonable I'm like yay I can afford you I love it you know and and then I don't you know I feel like I you know there is hope out there when you can actually afford to pay someone to actually help you do the work.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: And some people are so you know and not that people don't deserve to be paid but not everybody can afford you know the top of the top you know people and it's like I can't afford that I'm sorry.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: I remember those days when I first started podcasting I paid my first logo I paid$50 for my first logo and I look at it and I was like oh my god I pay$50 for that but I was so excited that someone did a logo for me that I didn't care.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah but now you know either you learn how to create them and you're good or you get someone who's gonna create it for you.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: And I I do my best to keep real it's my logo says AI assisted but always human uh sourced uh and and I always state uh originality is always a big thing I take your idea and then I make it as real or as close as I can to what you want um will it be perfect?
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: No sometimes it is sometimes like whoa that really came out perfect.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: But I appreciate everyone's trust um that they put in me because I think that's a big big trust and I'm very blessed by it.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: I never thought I'd be doing this I come from a medical billing side I'm a revenue analyst not an a content creator when you say that you're like what am I 20?
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: No but you know it's fun uh it's exciting I use um so if anybody wants or needs anything uh you can always reach out to me DM me uh follow the page you can follow Sasquatch Syndicate Studios that we have our own page you can email me at jm at sasquashstudios dot nyc or um graysandgrind nyc at gmail dot com you can always reach out to me I will do my best to help you out if you have you want a song you need an intro outro you need a middle you need an ad you need anything any design I will do my best to help you out so thanks that's awesome the other thing I wanted to just say real quick is is with you know being a content creator is that um I mean that the sky is the limit you could do whatever you want with it you know but I also liked that like when you did my logo um if there was something I didn't like about it you were okay with me telling you I kind of don't like this part but I I love this part or yeah I look like weird in this picture or something and you're like okay I got you and then you know you may require hey send me a better picture or headshot or send me this to go with that.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: And I love that you you you're willing to work with people and not just go well this is what it is you know and go you know I had to get done yeah I had to get done to me like uh this is the best I can do.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: I'm like well then it's not what I want.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah I don't guarantee that you always get exactly because you can't make everyone happy but I will do my best and closest.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: So and I work with everyone if you don't like it it's your dream it's your imagination I'm not anyone in charge of it.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: You're just giving me I have the tools but it's your thought and that's the way I take it it's very personal.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: So I work on it very personal.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: So and I love that about you because you do do that.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: And I just wanted to say that to all of our listeners that you do take it to heart and you do take it um in your mind and you're like hey if you don't like this tell me what you don't like about it.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Let me see what I can do to adjust it, fix it, whatever.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: And and you're really good at communicating that with with um you know for me anyway you've done a um a few things for me already and I've just really appreciated that um you're really easy to work with it's not complicated and and you're not going well you know I don't know what to tell you kind of thing and you know take it or leave it.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: You know you really do care about your work and it shows.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: So I appreciate that greatly and I know our listeners would appreciate that.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: So I wanted to put that out there for our listeners to hear that you know you're you have all your heart is in it.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: So yeah thank you.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: And that's what we want when we're hiring someone to help us create something we want them to be part of it and be in it too.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: And um it really it really does show in your work that you do that.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: But for all of our listeners I will put all of the information including Rory Paquette's information.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Rory if you're listening again another shout out to you but um Rory Paquette I will just tell you a little bit about what he does.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: He is a podcaster he has lots of podcasts and he also is a podcast coach he's a great mentor he's very knowledgeable he's really good at what he does.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: He literally knows how to take you by the hand and walk you through in in guiding you in it in through a coaching program through podcasting and even getting on stage called you know Step Up to the mic.
