- 0:51A we all welcome Todayisha, we'll pick up where we left off yesterday.
- 1:03You may remember in radio replies a very well meaning sort of universalist Protestant is
- 1:11asking a lot of the priests a lot of very modern notions. So a
- 1:14lot of the things this person was saying in the early nineteen hundreds didn't really
- 1:19become popular, at least in the United States until the sixties, seventies,
- 1:25eighties. So this person was actually rather well ahead of their time. And
- 1:29then we're going to get into follow Sparago's book, The Exhaustive Explanation of the
- 1:34Catechism about how God prepared mankind for the coming of the Messiah, the Redeemer.
- 1:41Fascinating subject, really interesting, So let's dive in here. This person
- 1:45says something very trendy actually, you know, like I said, this rather
- 1:49modern person for I don't even know what was this one done about nineteen thirty
- 1:53or so. You know, they said, the Kingdom of God is within
- 1:57you, and the priest answer, the Kingdom of God, as established by
- 2:00Christ is at once a visible church in this world and an invisible spiritual kingdom
- 2:07of grace within the soul. External adherence to the Kingdom demands also that Christ
- 2:13reign by grace within the soul. But this interior grace does not dispense a
- 2:17man from accepting the will of Christ, once he is aware of it,
- 2:22nor from the obligation to join the visible kingdom established by him in this world.
- 2:28Christ distinctly said I will build my church, and again, if a
- 2:31man will not hear the church, let him be as a heathen. He
- 2:36was obviously referring to the authority of a visible church. He also likened his
- 2:40church to a net holding good and bad fish. This cannot refer to a
- 2:45kingdom of spiritual and invisible grace only for bad fish or not in a state
- 2:50of grace, and very true. You know. One of the big mistakes
- 2:57of Oh, a lot of you know, more conservative Republican Americans. I
- 3:05know Steve Bannon, who should know better. He's a Catholic. He says
- 3:07this is often that America is the new Jerusalem. No, it's not,
- 3:13absolutely not. As I said before in my show, you know, God
- 3:17can do just fine without America. God doesn't need America. American needs God.
- 3:23Okay, America is not a special covenant nation. Now, our Protestant
- 3:30founding fathers, with the exception of the one Catholic assigned the declaration. My
- 3:36ancestor Charles Carroll may have thought they could create that covenant, but by what
- 3:44authority? There is no legitimate Protestant church. The only church founded by Jesus
- 3:50Christ is the Catholic Church. You can ask someone, well, by what
- 3:53authority is your church founded? And it goes back to you know, John
- 3:58Knox or Martin Luther, who just got his own idea of what a church
- 4:00should be and found it entirely on his own authority. And in fact,
- 4:03Martin Luther said the papist, as he called him, he was very anti
- 4:09Catholic, very bigoted. He said, scream and cry or something about his
- 4:14changing the words of Jesus in the Bible. And they say by what authority
- 4:16did you do this? And he said, you may answer them by the
- 4:20authority of doctor Luther. He was his own authority. He was essentially his
- 4:25own God. He was an idolator. Every Protestant church is founded without the
- 4:31authority given by Christ to the Catholic Church. The United States was founded as
- 4:39a nation, but not in a covenant with God. They had no authority
- 4:42to do so, or so to do I guess I should say Israel had
- 4:46a covenant. The New Covenant is the Catholic Church. The New Jerusalem is
- 4:53the Catholic Church. The Kingdom of God is that church on earth, reflect
- 5:00the Church in Heaven, which is also the Kingdom of God as established by
- 5:03Jesus Christ. And the officers within that kingdom had distinct roles, the Pope,
- 5:11the cardinals and bishops, the priests, the religious and us the laity.
- 5:16We have distinct roles offices within that kingdom where God raises queen, and
- 5:25the blessed Virgin Mary is the Queen of Heaven. It's not within, it's
- 5:31not just within someone's heart. Although you know when someone is baptized to become
- 5:36part of the body of Christ, so I mean we actually more holy.
- 5:42We become through the sacraments of the Catholic Church and prayer and devotion, and
- 5:46you know, trying to become a saint. We can have the same heart
- 5:49of God. The Holy Spirit dwells within anyone who is baptized, whether in
- 5:57the Catholic Church or not, a valid Christian baptist is a valid Christian baptism.
- 6:01But the Kingdom of God actually has officers and Scott hand doctor Scott hand's
- 6:06written extensively on this. The keys of the kingdom, I mean that the
- 6:12person who held the keys of a kingdom in like the well, like the
- 6:17steward in a household a grand home, like you know Joseph when he was
- 6:21in Egypt. You know Joseph, whose brothers sold him in his slavery,
- 6:26and he ends up saving the entire Hebrew race from famine because he becomes the
- 6:32steward of the house of the Pharaoh. He literally could his word was as
- 6:38the Pharaoh's word. What he said went, he ruled instead of the Pharaoh
- 6:44in his absence or you know whatever. There's no it's not a coincidence that
- 6:48Hebrew for Joshua is Yeshua, which is where we get the name Jesus.
- 6:56The very distinct roles, very very distinct roles in the actual physical Kingdom of
- 7:01God, which was established by Jesus Christ upon Peter, whom he renamed the
- 7:05Rock, and he said it would be a shining city set on a hill,
- 7:10visible for all ages. Well, since that time there has been the
- 7:13One Holy Catholic Church. No other Christian church has lasted has been around as
- 7:17long. Most of them are less than fifty years old. No other human
- 7:21institution on earth has lasted that long. No nation is under its current form
- 7:27as it was two thousand years ago. Just look at how many constitutions Italy
- 7:31has had. Italy has not even been a unified nation for most of that
- 7:35time, America didn't exist. England has not existed for two thousand years.
- 7:42Not the nation of England. No. Among my ancestors are the original Kings
- 7:47of England, the House of Wessex, who were Catholic. One of them
- 7:53is Saint Edward the Confessor. Another word is King Richard Lionheart. You know,
- 7:58the Catholic Church predated the monarchy of modern day England, and of course,
- 8:03once England fell away from Catholicism under Henry the Eighth, it's a completely
- 8:09different nation. It's not a Catholic nation and it's an illegitimate monarchy. Seriously,
- 8:16the House of Windsor is an illegitimate monarchy. If you don't believe me,
- 8:20just look up their lineage. They are not They are not the royal
- 8:24family of England. But you know, what are you going to do?
- 8:30So? Anyway? No, the New Jerusalem is not the United States,
- 8:33It's not any nation on earth. It's holy app one, Holytolic I am
- 8:39getting to so confused. Catholic one, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. That's
- 8:46the new Jerusalem, and that's the Kingdom of God. That's the new Covenant.
- 8:52And no one else has an authority to claim covenant with God other than
- 8:58you know, Catholic Church, because it was not established by man, it
- 9:01was established by God. There are two covenants. There's the covenant established between
- 9:05God and Abraham, and there's the covenant established between God and the Catholic Church.
- 9:11There's no other covenant. When you drive through you know, sometime you
- 9:13see covenant. Baptist Church, they have no covenant. When someone says America
- 9:18is the new Jerusalem, that's actually kind of blasphemous. Actually, And if
- 9:24I could ever have a chance to speak with mister Bannon, who I have
- 9:28the greatest respect for. I mean, he's really, I mean, to
- 9:31me, the best conservative spokesman these days. I think he's absolutely great.
- 9:37I'll watch him every day, you know, morning show and evening show.
- 9:41Huge fan. He is so wrong about America being the new Jerusalem. That's
- 9:46actually a somewhat blasphemous statement, and someone really does need to set him right.
- 9:50I know Devin Nunius, Congressman Devin Unis, former Congressman Trump official listens
- 9:58to my show sometimes, mister new Yes, if you hear this show,
- 10:01and you can tell mister Bannon that what he's saying is actually blasphemous, that
- 10:07no human institution, no nation founded by men, has that right. Only
- 10:11the Catholic Church has it. Please do so because he you know, hopefully
- 10:18he can be corrected on that. And also, by the way, Abraham
- 10:22Lincoln was no saint, you know, and if you don't believe me,
- 10:26I could send you some documentation on that. He's a pretty bad guy.
- 10:28Actually, No matter what you think about the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was
- 10:33not a good man at all. He wrote, well, he was eloquent.
- 10:37He was the Barack Obama of his day. Okay, so just just
- 10:41another side point, you know, let me just clear the air of that
- 10:43one before I move on. The person says Christ died for all and does
- 10:48not say that he died from members of any particular church. He does not
- 10:52mention either Catholicism or Protestantism. That's kind of ridiculous, as there was no
- 10:56Protestantism until you know, about five hundred years ago, and the Catholic Church
- 11:01has been around for two thousand years. The teaching of Christ clearly condemns Protestant
- 11:05principles and insists upon the exception of Catholic principles. He did die for all
- 11:09who would accept him, but one does not accept him who rejects knowingly the
- 11:15very definite and particular religion he gave the world, and he predicted that religion
- 11:20would be characterized by unity of doctrine, holiness of moral precepts, Catholicity or
- 11:26universality, and continuous succession from the apostles. Person says denominations are necessary to
- 11:33save us from the dictation of priests. The authority the priesthood, they say,
- 11:41will be the subject of our consideration in due time. Meanwhile, the
- 11:45denominations were not necessary according to the mind of Christ. He prayed that all
- 11:48might be one, as he and his Father are one. Saint Paul said
- 11:54that even though an angel from heaven were to preach a gospel differing from the
- 11:58one already gives, than he should be regarded as a cursed No one had
- 12:03any right to establish the denominations with their varying doctrines. Person says, I
- 12:11admit it is a pity that there is so much conflict, and they say
- 12:15it is ten thousand times a pity. But remember that the Catholic Church did
- 12:20not start the conflict. She cannot be blamed for the domestic troubles of Protestantism.
- 12:26All Catholics are at least in doctrinal unity. And that's well. I
- 12:33hope we're still in doctrinal unity. Our Pope isn't exactly facilitating that right now,
- 12:39is he? Yeah, let's get on to Foli shpiago And these are
- 12:48very this is good stuff. This is point number three under his discussion of
- 12:56Christ's redeemer. He said God chose for himself a special nation, and point
- 13:03number three is preparation of mankind for the Redeemer. God chose for himself a
- 13:07special nation and prepared it for the coming of the Redeemer. This chosen people
- 13:13was the seat of Abraham, usually called by the name of the Israelites or
- 13:16Jews. The Call of Abraham. Regarding the Call of Abraham and Genesis twelfth,
- 13:24the Jews to be a priestly nation in Exodus, I guess it's nineteen
- 13:30six. No rejection of other nations is implied in the election of the Jews.
- 13:35For every renewal of the promise of a redeemer recalled a blessing that all
- 13:39nations were to share Genesis twelve three and et cetera, etc. The ways
- 13:46by which God prepared his chosen people for the Redeemer's advent were the infliction of
- 13:52heavy trials, the imposition of severe laws and the performance for them of miracles,
- 13:58and the giving of series of prophecies. The sensuality of the Chosen people
- 14:03had to be combated by many trials, such as Pharaoh's edict against the children,
- 14:07hunger and thirst of the desert, the fiery serpents, the attacks of
- 14:11their enemies, and their long exile. This same sensuality and insensibility required that
- 14:18laws should be promulgated with an all inspiring accompaniment of thunder and lightning. Idolatry
- 14:24was another sin to which the Chosen People were prone, as we see in
- 14:28the incident of the Golden Calf in Exodus thirty two to one. So miracles
- 14:33were called to strengthen their faith and trust in God, such as those performed
- 14:37in Egypt and the Passage of the Red Sea and the Jordan. The man
- 14:41in the Desert the water from the dry rock, the falling down on the
- 14:43walls of Jericho, etc. The prophecies tended in the same direction, as
- 14:50well as to maintain the desiring of the coming redeemer. Of the history of
- 14:54the Jewish people, the following facts are known to us. First, thescendants
- 14:58of Abraham first world in Palestine and went later to Egypt, where they remained
- 15:03for the space of four hundred years and were cruelly oppressed. About the year
- 15:07two thousand b C. God called Abraham and bade him settle in Palestine,
- 15:13where he had a son, Isaac, who was father of Esau and Jacob.
- 15:16Jacob secured Esaul's birthright and had to flee in consequence. Jacob, also
- 15:20called Israel, had twelve sons, of which one was Joseph, who,
- 15:24being sold into Egypt, became the ruler of the land under the king invited
- 15:28his relatives, some sixty six in number, to join him, giving them
- 15:33the fertile district of Goshen, lying eastward of the Nile Delta to dwell in
- 15:37about nineteen hundred b C. Here, the Jews increased greatly in numbers and
- 15:43had much to endure later from the Egyptian kings. Secondly, under the leadership
- 15:48of Moses, the Israelites left Egypt and watered in the desert for forty years.
- 15:52Some two million people crossed the Red Sea about fifteen hundred BC into the
- 15:58Arabian Desert, where they were fed with manna and received the Ten Commandments.
- 16:03Moses died on Mount Nebo. Third, under Joshua, they entered the Promised
- 16:07Land, but they had to fight there under but they had to fight under
- 16:14their judges for over three hundred years against their enemies. Fourteen fifty to eleven
- 16:18one hundred BC. Joshua, the successor of Moses, divided the and that's
- 16:25you know in the old writing, Joshu j U s u E. If
- 16:27I'm pronouncing it, I apologize. The success from Moses divided the land among
- 16:34the twelve tribes. The judges were men raised by God for some times of
- 16:38special needs, such as, for instance, as Gideon jeff Da Sampson Samuel.
- 16:45Fourth, the Israelites were ruled over by King Saul, David Solomon being
- 16:49especially famous from eleven hundred to nine to seventy five BC. Saul was unhappy
- 16:55in his career and died of suicide David has success for successor ten fifty five
- 17:00to ten fifteen, was distinguished for his piety. He composed many of the
- 17:04psalms and received from God the promise that the Redeemer should be of his family.
- 17:10On two occasions, he fell into grievous sin and was visited by severe
- 17:15chastisements. His son and successor, Solomon, built the Temple of Jerusalem in
- 17:19ten twelve and was known far and wide for his wisdom and splendor. After
- 17:25Solomon's death, the kingdom was divided into two parts, forming the Kingdom of
- 17:29Israel in the north nineteen seventy five to seven twenty two BC and Judah in
- 17:33the south nine seventy five two five eighty eight BC. Solomon's son Roboem i
- 17:40Guess alienated the ten northern tribes by his taxations, and only the two southern
- 17:45tribes, Judah and Benjamin, remained to form the Kingdom of Judah. Six
- 17:51Both kingdoms fell away from the True God and were in consequence destroyed, and
- 17:55their inhabitants led away into captivity. Israel had nine kings who led people went
- 18:00into idolatry. In spite of the efforts of the prophets at last, let's
- 18:04see if I can get this one. Salmanass Salmanassar, I don't know.
- 18:11In seven twenty two destroyed the kingdom and carried the people away to the Assyrian
- 18:15captivity. The fall of the Assyrian power brought the exiles under the dominion of
- 18:22the Babylonians, and in five thirty eight under that of the Persian king Cyrus.
- 18:26The Kingdom of Judah had twenty kings and held out longer, but finally
- 18:30was reduced by nebuchad nossor nevo chad do nossor my word, are you glad
- 18:41we go? My name is like Bob and Jim. Now when you hate
- 18:45for your name to be something like nabo chado non chada nosnor. The people
- 18:52were led us away into captivity six o six and five ninety nine, and
- 18:56Jerusalem and the temple destroyed seven. After the return from captivity in five thirty
- 19:03six, the Jews lived in peace until they came in two hundred two three
- 19:07AD under the power of Antiochus, the king of Syria. From the year
- 19:12six six, the inhabitants of Judah and Israel dwelt under the same rule and
- 19:18came to be known indifferently as Jews. Cyrus, who obtained possession of the
- 19:23Babylonian kingdom in five thirty eight, gave permission two years later for the Jews
- 19:29return to rebuild their temple. Some forty two thousand Jews availed themselves with this
- 19:33concession to return to under zero babyl to Jerusalem. They raised a new temple
- 19:41after twenty years of work in the year four fifty three. Arta Xerxes allowed
- 19:45them to build walls, and they still remained for about two hundred years under
- 19:49Persian dominion and were well treated. Alexander the Great and his successor then had
- 19:55the mastery till the time of Antiochus Epiphanes the Fourth, who began a religious
- 20:02persecution, putting the Maccabean brothers and ali Azar to death and placing idols in
- 20:07the temple. Eight. The Jews regained their freedom after a bloody war and
- 20:12were again ruled for one hundred years by Jewish kings. From one forty to
- 20:17thirty nine BC. Maccabeus and his five sons helped the Jews to shake off
- 20:22the Syrian yoke, and as I always say, if you don't have a
- 20:25Bible that has includes the two Books of Maccabees. You need a much better
- 20:30Bible. Get rid of your King James. Get a Dewey Raims if you
- 20:33want one written in the same era, with the same you know, flowery
- 20:37English language. Or go back and get the original bibliosac of Volgata that Saint
- 20:44Jerome translated into three hundreds. Or get yourself an ignacious Holy Bible revised Standard
- 20:52Edition, Catholic version, because it's basically identical, okay, And it's going
- 20:57to be much more accurate and complete than any Protestant Bible because it has all
- 21:04the books and the words of Jesus weren't changed to fit Martin Luther's opinions.
- 21:11Yes, he changed the words of Jesus. Let me say that a third
- 21:15or fifth time if if not a good man, Protestantism is based on lies,
- 21:22not on the word of God, because the Bible they have was changed
- 21:27to fit the ideas of a megalomaniac. So anyway, where was I?
- 21:37Maccabeus and his five sons helped the Jews to shake off the Syrian yoke.
- 21:41Simon, one of the Maccabees, resigned as high priest and king in one
- 21:48and was succeeded by his descendants till the advent of POMPEII in sixty four,
- 21:52who reduced the Jewish king to the subjection of Rome. In thirty eight PC,
- 21:57a gentile Herod became King of the Jews. As Judea was always the
- 22:03focus of rebellion, the Jewish king was deposed and replaced by Herod, the
- 22:08first of the kings, who was not a Jew. It was he who
- 22:11has secured the children at Bethlehem. At his death, he was succeeded by
- 22:15his son Herod and Antipas, Antipas who put John the Baptist to death and
- 22:22who treated our Lord as a fool. His successor was under Herod Agrippa the
- 22:29Great, who beheaded Saint James the Elder and cast Saint Peter into prison.
- 22:33He usurped the name of God and died a miserable death eaten by worms in
- 22:37forty four a d. In seventy a d. Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus,
- 22:41and the Jews were scattered among the nations Section number two. The other
- 22:47nations of the Earth were prepared for the coming of their deemer by contact with
- 22:51the Chosen people or by the influence of exceptionally gifted men or by their extraordinary
- 22:56methods. A very interesting point. You can definitely see, you know,
- 23:03the philosophy of Greece and Rum gradually leading them, you know, toward the
- 23:10acceptance of a monotheistic God. They wouldn't have gotten there without the Jews and
- 23:15without the early Christians, but they were getting, you know, they were
- 23:18starting to look in that direction. And you know, we can see this
- 23:22in different religions, Zoroastrianism especially. You know, anyway, the ordinary intercourse
- 23:30of trade as well as the enforced exile, forwarded means of contact with the
- 23:33Heathen, and that this was not unfruitful. We learned from Tobias. Another
- 23:37book you don't have in your Protestant Bible, the Book of Tobit, you
- 23:41know, incredibly important book. Give glory to the Lord the children of Israel,
- 23:48because he had therefore scattered you among the gentiles who know Him, who
- 23:52know not Him, that you may declare his wonderful works and make notes in
- 23:56them that there is no other online God beside him. That's Tobit thirteen three
- 24:06and four. Yes, get rid of your king, James, get yourself
- 24:10a dewey rings and learn what God actually wanted you to know. Such men
- 24:14as Socrates in Greece had their mission into crying the cult of the idols and
- 24:18exhibiting in their persons the virtue of courage, gentleness and moderation. Absolutely Socrates
- 24:26fantastic love to read his works or what was written of him. We might
- 24:33enumerate also job in Arabia, Joseph in Egypt, Jonas and Nineveh, Daniel
- 24:38and Babylon, and others. The virtues of such men, their courage and
- 24:42confessing the true God, and the miracles by which their profession was verified,
- 24:48as for instance, in the case of the children in the Furnace of I'm
- 24:52going to go with Nebekinezer because that's the way I was told to pronounce as
- 24:56a kid, but it's actually what Nabbo Nabbu Chad do. Nonsoor and Daniel
- 25:07in the Lions den furnished more abundant motives in the Heathen for discerning the True
- 25:12God, and that this was the case is corroborated by the number of proselytes.
- 25:19Besides, all these other methods were not left untried, e g.
- 25:23The miracle miraculous Star which led the Three Magi to Bethlehem. The Angel's method
- 25:30to message to Cornelius Centurion in Acts three, very important point and the mysterious
- 25:37handwriting on the wall in the palace where Baltasar was profaning the sacred vessels.
- 25:41In the Book of Dan, I think it's five to two. In the
- 25:45dream of that fella again Nabo Chad don nonsur and the prophecy of Baliam's ass
- 25:52Balam b A l A A m his donkey words great. A really interesting
- 26:03story of the Bible. Whether God actually gives the donkey power to speak,
- 26:07you know, really interesting passage point number three. Before the arrival of the
- 26:14Redeemer, God permitted that mankind should experience the deepest misery in order to rouse
- 26:19it to a longing for the Redeemer. A great dissension reigned among the Jews.
- 26:25Three different sects claimed precedents. The Sadducees, which were the money class,
- 26:30denied eternal life. The Pharisees adhered rigidly to the law, and the
- 26:34Essians withdrew entirely from the world and led a life of strict penance. Among
- 26:38the heathen, there was a general ignorance of any religious life, together with
- 26:42monstrous immorality. The gods According to Hessio, it were too numerous to be
- 26:47counted, and were in different idols or men of abominable lives, or even
- 26:52animals whose worship was signalized by scenes of debauchery and human sacrifice. Heathens were
- 26:59not wanting who recognized the sad state of affairs. Horace, for instance,
- 27:03in one of his ode bewails the civil wars and praise to praise the virgin
- 27:08born son to come and ring among his people. Long before him, Socrates
- 27:14had expressed the wish that some mediators should come from heaven to teach man his
- 27:18duty to God. Jacob and the prophets only echoed the popular feelings when they
- 27:23call the Redeemer the expectation of the nations. As in nations, so is
- 27:30God's action to be seen in individuals, and the struggles of a Saint Paul
- 27:34and a Saint Augustine served to make them more open to the actions of the
- 27:37Holy Ghost and more zealous in their conversion to God. Let's just leave it
- 27:44here today. I'll pick it up tomorrow. But I think leaving on that
- 27:47point is very important. You know, Saint Paul began as a great persecutor
- 27:53of the Christians. He held the cloaks when Saint Stephen was stoned to death
- 27:56the first martyr, and then he went out and killed old Christians for their
- 28:00belief. He believed he was acting as an Asian of God. He was
- 28:04full of what self righteousness, believing he was enforcing the Mosaic law to kill
- 28:12all who blasphemed against the Jewish religion. It. You know, it took
- 28:19God striking him blind and speaking to him to lead to his conversion. You
- 28:26know, Saint Augustine was a gambler and a womanizer and you like to fight
- 28:32and all that before his conversion. I think a great example is Saint Mary
- 28:38Magdalene. I actually wrote about her in my Gospel Reflections that I wrote yesterday,
- 28:44which will come out later in the year. I write him six months
- 28:45in advance, so you'll have them on the day you need him. Really
- 28:49hit me, how genuine her expression always is toward our Lord. You know
- 28:56when she meets Jesus. We don't know what zach cleve when she met Jesus,
- 29:00right, but we know she was in the house where it said he
- 29:03was dining with sinners and all that. Right, And apparently without saying a
- 29:08word, she's on her knees, washing his feet with her tears, taking
- 29:15her most precious possession, very what they call nard, a very expensive perfumed
- 29:21oil, and giving it to him. We don't know how she became a
- 29:26prostitute. You know, there weren't a lot of economic opportunities for single women
- 29:33in two thousand years ago. Maybe she was an orphan. Orphans basically had
- 29:37two options, being a prostitute or a slave, and there really wasn't much
- 29:41difference, if you know, if you were attractive. Maybe she was a
- 29:48widow. Maybe she had a child at time she had to care for and
- 29:51no one to provide an income. Maybe maybe she was a teenager who got
- 29:56pregnant whose parents kicked her out. We have no idea, but when you
- 30:04know, there seems to have been this great human need in her to be
- 30:10loved and accepted. And when she meets Jesus, she falls her knees and
- 30:17weeps, and all the work and sacrifice and all the you know, probably
- 30:22abuse she had been through that had allowed her to buy this expensive oil,
- 30:27this Nard, she immediately gives to Jesus and he accepts her fully, probably
- 30:36the one thing she needed in life more than anything else. Then we see
- 30:41after the crucifixion. We know she was there with the Mother of God.
- 30:45You know, obviously she was fully redeemed in the eyes of the Lord and
- 30:51his followers. She was there at the crucifixion when the apostles weren't mostly most
- 30:56of them had fled, even Saint Peter. We see her as the first
- 31:02person to come to the tomb after the resurrection, and she falls to the
- 31:06ground weeping uncontrolledly. And what happens this is, this is amazing, Okay.
- 31:14Jesus walks up, speaks to her, and she embraces him, and
- 31:18he says to her, I have not yet gone, I have not yet
- 31:22a sented to the Father. He was still in his mortal battered, bruised,
- 31:27bloodied, cut, disgraced, rotting flesh in the tomb body. And
- 31:36yet because of her genuine human need, he appears to her. I think
- 31:44many times, there's so many saints that we read about who are such courageous
- 31:51people or such pure people, such you know, genuinely unsullied people, right,
- 31:59I mean, from obviously the blessed Virgin Mary born without even original sin,
- 32:04to I mean Saint Teresa of Lusseaux, who I mean she wouldn't complain
- 32:09or argue with anyone. I mean, we can go down the list of
- 32:14yeah, some of the great warrior saints, some of the great martyrs,
- 32:17some who but then we see then we see the you know, like Saint
- 32:23Paul, like Saint Augustine, like Saint Mary Magdalene, real human conflicted,
- 32:32screwing everything, up falling broken people. And isn't it amazing? Isn't it
- 32:40absolutely amazing that to such a broken person, Jesus would spend another few moments
- 32:54on this earth in his agony, his dead body raised to life, but
- 33:05not having ascended, not having his perfect holy body in heaven. That's incredible.
- 33:13I mean when you think about it, that extra sacrifice, and that's
- 33:17something you know, we absolutely should remember that when we're in that broken place,
- 33:25that's when you know God will move heaven on earth to come to us.
- 33:30So anyway, y'all, in the words of Saint Padre Pio, pray,
- 33:36hope and don't worry. And you know, if I can ever figure
- 33:39out, I need to talk to my Italian friend actually how to pronounce the
- 33:43name of the town. You know that Saint Peo was the priest did like
- 33:47Petroleda or something. I'm just gonna call him Saint Padre Pio because I mispronounce
- 33:53everything. So anyway, y'all have a good one and I will talk with you tomorrow
